In the year 1972, something happened that would forever change
the world of home entertainment and personal enjoyment. The first
video game to break through the confines of reality, was a game
called Pong. From Pong, to Call of Duty, people come a long way in
the world of video games. However, some games have struck up
controversy with their gratuitous violence and their questionable
motives. It has become so controversial, that it has been taken
up and noticed by our own government. So, what s the problem with
violent video games, and how can the next generation be protected, so
that they will not get influenced by these games in real life?
So how did all of this begin? Let us go back to a time where
change needed to happen to the flow of digital
entertainment. In the year 1993, a new arcade cabinet just
made it s way to the arcades and is getting played more and more
every single day. That game was called Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat
is a fighting game on the arcade that would soon debut on home

rule (associate, category, opposite, rhyme, synonym) in which the participant was given the first
word and asked to read or generate the following word following the rule type. After a certain

asked to recall the words they generated or read. Results indicated that that when a word is
generated it is recalled at a more accurate rate.

realizing that an individual s worth goes beyond their outward appearance; that the greatest and
most deep connections are achieved by looking at one s heart.
The narrator of Cathedral , also known as the husband, is judgmental, jealous, and emotionally
disconnected from his wife. Throughout Cathedral , he displays feelings of disgust and confusion

Causes of Foreign direct investment into Pakistan.
Aim and objectives:
The dissertation topic will focus on the importance of foreign direct investment into Pakistan s
Economy and will also focus around the causes of foreign direct investment. The report will look
into three different perspectives such as, the effects on FDI pre and post 9/11, investment in
different sectors of industry and the importance of investing countries in terms of contributing
towards developing Pakistan s infrastructure or helping financially to fight the War against terror .
Moreover, the report also provides an insight to what can be done to improve the inflow of FDI
into Pakistan.
Background of Pakistan s economy and FDI: Since the independence in 1947 the economy of
Pakistan has emerged as a semi industrialized economy and is mainly based on textile, agriculture
and food production. The textile industry contributes around 9% to the country s gross domestic
product (khurram baig, 2013). However, since the start of 2008 the country as a whole has
struggled to gain the confidence of many foreign and local investors due to instability and security
concerns and the country is struggling to gain back the confidence ever since. Although, after 2012
an increase in the FDI was seen due to improvement in the tertiary sector, this was n mainly due to
an increase in spending power and confidence shown by the local consumers (The World Bank).

Introduction Students of the class Introduction to Research Methods conducted two studies to
collect data on the perception of scientists. The purpose of the two studies conducted was to
examine the stereotypes of scientists of undergraduate Speech and Hearing Science majors, and
whether the use of media has an influence on these stereotypes. Study one was a descriptive study
that consisted of administering a Draw A Scientisttest. This was done in order to understand the
perceptions of scientists in a sample of Speech and Hearing Sciencemajors at a large research
university in the Midwest, and be able to compare the results to other literature. Study 2 was an
experimental study, conducted to analysis the effect of a media stimulus on the perceptions of
scientist. The goal of conducting two studies was to have the ability to compare the results of the
descriptive study with the experimental study in order to determine the effects of the media and
analyze certain stereotypic characteristics of a scientist. The Draw A Scientist Test was first
administered by David W. Chambers in 1983. He created the DAST in order to analyze the
stereotypes involved in people s perceptions of scientists. Seven specific attributes of a scientist
were included on the coding sheet of the DAST. These attributes included specific attributes of a
scientist: a laboratory coat, eyeglass, facial hair, symbols of research (scientific instruments and
laboratory equipment), symbols of knowledge
