The Pros and Cons of RussiaВґs Economy Essay
Russia s economy is very complex and also very terrible at the same time. Many other economy s
are also like this but Russia s is a very interesting thing to learn about. Russia s economy has many
things wrong with it that in the long run could probably affected it in a negative way. But it also
has many positive things about it.The negatives and the positives are, in my opinion, are equal in
Russiaeconomy. Lets start out with the good things that Russia s economy has. Russia has an more
than enough natural resources. They have plenty of timber, precious metals, oil, gas, and coal.
Those resources being exported could easily benefit their economy if it wasn t for other countries
who produce more of the resources taking their potential... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another reason that their economy won t fall is they still have a budget surplus which it s GDP
isn t very high. And one of the most important reasons is that Russia s unemployment rate is at one
of it s lowest in Soviet history. So, based on those facts it s safe to say that the Russian economy
isn t going to crash anytime soon.
Russia s economy has been becoming tight on public finances but they believe that it ll help their
economy. The reason they think it ll help their economy is because it help keep inflationunder
control. They are also trying to get interest rates cut down to a smaller amount which will also help
out the economy. The Russian government has been preparing for big unemployment rises due to
the monopolies. The monopolies are saying it ll help people find new jobs but it really won t
because now they ll be on the unemployment list and will be having the government paying them
until they find a new job. By having more people on the unemployment list it adds to the country s
debt.
Russia is already in debt and it couldn t really afford to be put into more. Russia s national debt
is around 6,709,506,270,191. Russia is so large that it makes sense that there national debt is so
high. In the U.S. our country isn t big at all compared to Russia and we are in 11 trillion dollars
more in debt then they are. Both the U.S. and Russia need to cut back on spending on unnecessary

Proposal for Quality of Work Life
A STUDY ON QUALITY OF WORK LIFE IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR INTRODUCTION
Human resources play a very important role in success of an organization and thus, management of
human resource assumes importance. Many aspects affect the management of human resources.
One such aspect is Quality of Work Life (QWL). It is a philosophy, a set of principles, which holds
that people are the most important resource in the organization as they are trustworthy, responsible
and capable of making valuable contribution and they should be treated with dignity and respect .
The elements that are relevant to an individual s quality of work life include the task, the physical
work environment, social environment within the organization, Administrative system and... Show

In this context, subjective well being is seen as drawing upon both work and non work aspects
of life. However, more complex models of an individual s experience in the workplace often
appear to be set aside in an Endeavour to simplify the process of trying to measuring stress or
some similarly apparently discrete entity. It may be, however, that the consideration of the
bigger, more complex picture is essential, if targeted, effective action is to be taken to address
quality of working life or any of it s sub components in such a way as to produce real benefits, be
they for the individual or the organization. Whilst Quality of Life has been more widely studied
(4), Quality of working life, remains relatively unexplored and unexplained. A review of the
literature reveals relatively little on quality of working life. Where quality of working life has
been explored, writers differ in their views on its core constituents. It is argued that the whole is
greater than the sum of the parts as regards Quality of working Life, and, therefore, the failure to
attend to the bigger picture may lead to the failure of interventions which tackle only one aspect. A
clearer understanding of the inter relationship of the various facets of quality of working life offers
the opportunity for improved analysis of cause and effect in the workplace....This consideration of

Using Compact And High Performance Wireless Communication...
Chapter 1
Introduction
The patch antenna plays a very important role in today s world of wireless communication systems
.There is always a large demand for high performance ,small size and low cost wireless
communication systems .in order to get these requirements ,planar patch antenna is preferred
because of their various advantages such as light weight ,low volume ,low cost and ease for
fabrication .although the microstrip patch antenna has various advantages it has various
disadvantages which are low gain ,narrow bandwidth and low efficiency .These disadvantages can
be overcome by constructing many patch antennas in array configuration. Recently there has been
increasing demand in the use of DGSs for performance enhancement of microstrip patch antennas
and planar array antennas .there are basically two types of structures which are used for the design
of compact and high performance wireless communication systems named as defected ground
structures (DGS) and electromagnetic band gap structures (EBG) which is also known as photonic
band gap structure(PBG). These structures have been used to obtain the functions such as unwanted
frequency rejection and circuit size reduction. Recently defected ground structures have been
introduced; DGSs are realized by simply etching off simple shape (called as defect) from the ground
plane .Depending upon the shape and the dimensions of the defects ,the current distribution in the
ground plane is disturbed and resulting in a controlled

Summary Of The Canterbury Tales By Geoffrey Chaucer
Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales, a collection of short tales in the 14th century.
The compilation of stories is told by pilgrims on the journey within the narrative as part of a
game proposed by the host. Each individual must tell two stories of their journey. My favorite
pilgrim was the Franklin. The Franklin was a gentry landowner, member of the nobility, who
had extensive holdings. He belonged to the middle class and was a man of leisure. Chaucer
described him as White as a daisy petal was his beard. A sanguine man, high colored and benign
(line 342 343). The Franklin sported a white beard and carried a dagger and a white silk purse.
He had a cheerful personality and was confident. His only reason to be on this pilgrimage was to
enjoy himself. The Franklin was traveling with the Man of Law. According to Chaucer he He
loved a morning sop of cake in wine. He lived for pleasure and had always done ( line 344). I
think that Chaucer had a good opinion of the Franklin. The way that Chaucer describes the
Franklin makes the reader think that Chaucer likes him. He says that The Franklin is calm,
strong and an overall a cheerful guy. Chaucer also proves that he thinks highly of the Franklin by
saying, He was a model among landed gentry (line 369 370). He lives to please others and has a
house full of food. The Franklin, according to Chaucer, had an overall great sense of hospitality.
The Franklin s deadly sin was gluttony. He liked to overindulge himself

The View Of The Afterlife Essay
Classical World Influences
Introduction
The aim of my report is to explain how the view of the afterlife in Ancient Greece has shaped works
of art, books and the mentality of people. In order to do this I am going to explore how ancient
Greek people saw the underworld as well as Roman people and the Renaissance period. Because
Greeks saw the underworld as a dark, dreadful and gloomy place, many of the works that refer to
it, either in Roman times or the Renaissance, are influenced by this view. In particular works like
the Odyssey by Homer or The Phaedo by Plato, explained to a certain level the structure of the
afterlife in ancient Greece. These two pieces of literature severely influenced works like the
book VI of the Aeneid by Virgil where he depicts the underworld referencing to the Greek point
of view. But a deeper description of the underworld is given by Dante in his Divine Comedy
where he uses Virgil as his guide, from the depths of hellto the Purgatory while Beatrice, Dante s
ideal woman, guides him through heaven. All these time periods shared the idea of the underworld
as being a place where souls pay the sins they committed during their lives.
Afterlife in Ancient Greece
The afterlife in ancient Greece was Known as Hades. It was a grey world ruled by Hades, the
Lord of the Dead. If they had a virtuous life they could enjoy the sunny pleasures of the Elysium
or paradise, if they had a wicked life, then they fell into the dark pits of Tartarus, while if they

expected to be passive and have long hair, Miley Cyrus has short hair and is anything but passive.
Moreover, Cyrus is the utter opposite of a gender norm. Cyrus was born in Tennessee and her

Cyrus frequently wears grills and dreadlocks Cyrus has been quoted as saying she deliberately

Domestic Atmosphere In King Henry V
King Henry V s depiction of English nationalism amidst its battle between France showcases the
glorification of war. However, despite the play s emphasis on combat and victory, King Henry V,
also presents a strong unification of the charater s seeking or protecting for what they call home.
For many of the play s characters, the domestic sphere represents an ideal space to which they
will return to or represent though their interactions. The domestic sphere intercedes onto the
battlefield providing context as to what the characters are fighting and dying for. The play s
commoners use the tavern as a domestic sphere which is a reoccurring setting for characters like
Pistol and Bardolph. It provides an ideal atmosphere for their interactions during times of peace as
the tavern also functions as the plays comic relief for Acts II and III in the play. For example, upon
entering the tavern, The Hostess makes reference that she does not house a dozen or fourteen
gentlewomen because then people would assume the establishment as a brothel which is then
interrupted with Nym unsheathing his sword (158 159). The whole scene deals... Show more

France as matters of pride or even Manifest Destiny. However, it is in Act V that we see the fruits

fully integrates King Henry s life into the domestic sphere. King Henry s infaution of Katherine
which starts with O fair Katharine, if you will love me soundly with your French heart, I will be
glad to hear you confess it brokenly with your English tongue provides a strange contrast to Henry
s battle ready speeches of Act IV (352 353). Shortly after King Henry s romantic advances on

Ethics is concerned with utilitarianism the production of the greatest good for the greatest number.

Implementing engineering practice in some areas may destroy or change the natural balance and
way of natural working, resulting in devastation of the environment as a regrettable consequence.
Engineers must strive to find practicable solutions to reduce their collective carbon footprint and to
redress the harm of past action, for example forward looking initiatives such as the conversion of
mine waste into low cost housing materials and recycling schemes implemented in many residential
areas.
The ever present ethical dilemma of an engineer is when to privilege profit and productivity over
issues such as pollution, habitat destruction and soil infertility. When the pros and cons are
weighed up against each other the ultimate rule to be followed is the golden rule, hurt not others
with that which pains yourself .
When undertaking decisions concerned with environmental impact, both long term and short term
effects must be taken into consideration. Excessive farming and processing of fertile land may
eventually render the same land infertile. The use of fossil fuels may not have had an immediate
effect on the environment but now we understand their impact in the form of greenhouse gasses
and their great contribution to global warming. Extensive research must be undertaken in an

The Impact Of Senior Management On Corporate Governance
(1) All Powerful CEO
Back in 1985, a venture capital firm Hambrecht Quist invested in MiniScribe, and Mr. Wile was
selected as the chairman. After that, he eliminated one fifth of MiniScribe s work force and
overhauled the company from top to bottom. In addition, he held his divisional managers
accountable, which show us that Mr. Wile had unending control to the company. Although the
Board later was restructured to include new members, they either worked for or were affiliated
with Mr. Wile and the Hambrecht Quist group. All of these phenomenon indicate a powerful CEO,
which is harmful for a company s healthy operation. Further, during his tenure, he usually managed
MiniScribe from California, which gave him seldom chances to oversee real company operation.
Besides, since he held several similar positions at the same time, he can t devote all his energy to
MiniScribe. Evidences in several forms have suggest that senior management was involved in
fraudulent financial reporting activities, which indicates a failure of corporate governance.
(2) Weak System of Management Control
Since Mr. Wile is a powerful CEO, the management style of MiniScribe is very personal. As the
reason of frequent reorganization and reassignment, the senior managers often did not have the
necessary experience or educational training to perform their jobs. This can be consider as one
indicator of weak control because the decisions from these managers who did not have the capacity

Jamaica is known for its jerked chicken, clear waters, and more notably for Reggae, which

Artists would essentially hit two birds with one stone. The first bird was the ability to simply
perform their music. However the second bird isn t as simple as the first, it is the meaning. The
second was the protest against the Babylon system and oppression. To the Rastafari, the Babylon
system is any and all oppressive and unequal practices in Jamaica. Babylon began to surface
throughout reggae music. Reggae lyrics are suggestive of the reggae protest songs. Bob Marley
is a great example of capturing his strong negative views of Babylon. Reggae protest songs proved
to be a force with power, both socially and politically. Ironically the Jamaican government would
use reggae as a vehicle to promote its views (King, xiv).
Reggae never lost and will never lose its association with music and the Rastafari culture. It
remains a revolutionary form of explanatory art. Music never remains stagnate, it will always
evolve. Roots reggae; a sub genre of Reggae, was dominant in Jamaica in the cohort of 1975
1980. Roots reggae tackles the life of a ghetto sufferer and discusses truths and rights (Barrow
and Dalton, 129). Dancehall and the incorporation of hip hop rhythms was the new addition of
reggae. Dancehall became widely used after the death of Bob Marley in 1981 (Barrow and

Physics of Electric Guitars Essay
Introduction
More than any other instrument, the electric guitar has shaped and redefined music in the last
century. Although popular culture did not pay much attention to it when it was first introduced in
the 1930s, it has since become equated with the very essence of rock and roll music. On an
international level, the electric guitar is by far the most famous instrument to come out of the United
States (howstuffworks.com).
Background
Inventors have been playing with the idea of electrically powered musical instruments since the
1800s, but the first attempts at an amplified instrument did not come until the development of
electrical amplification by the radio industry in the 1920s.

* The vibrations of the strings can be quantified and calculated according to basic laws in physics.
These include certain relationships between velocity, wavelength, and frequency and equations that
describe the motion of a string fixed at both ends.
How Pick Ups Work:
Electric guitar pick ups work by employing principles of magnetic induction. The pick ups are
composed of small electromagnets (magnets that are wrapped with a coil of wire, thus allowing an
electric current to flow through them). Because of their close proximity to the strings, these
magnets induce a north and south pole on the strings. When the string is played, it begins to
oscillate, or move in a wave like fashion. This affects the field surrounding the pick up and causes a
change in the magnetic field. These changes, or fluctuations in the magnetic field are transmitted
through the wires connecting the pick up(s) to the output jack and are thus relayed to the amplifier
where they are sent to the speaker and converted from electrical energy once again into motion
energy (sound). (Brain, n.p.)
Electromagnets can turn electrical energy into motion. Likewise the converse is true: they can turn
motion into electrical energy.
Such is the case with electric guitar pick ups.
Waves on a String:
A guitar string is an example of a string fixed at both ends which is elastic and can vibrate.

Jew. A third occurrence of foreshadowing in this novel is a discrete example of this device.
After a stock character, named Frau Holtzapfel, spits on the door of the Hubermans, Death
remarks, Both [of her sons] were in the army and both will make cameo appearances by the time
we re finished here, I assure you. (Zusak 44) This hint at the future of the book is a preparation of
what is to come for these characters, and if caught, is very important. While these foreshadowings
may be hard to catch on to, they can give away essential information to the story. Irony is third and
final literary device the reader finds to enhance the story. Zusak uses

The Human Skeleton Can Offer More Information Than Meets...
The human skeleton can offer more information than meets the eye. In fact, when analysing an
individual s skeletal features it is possible to constitute a biological profile. In this essay, I aim to
explore the multiple elements that a human skeleton could shed light upon such as age, sex, stature,
diet, health and trauma.
Due to the natural breakdown of the skeleton with age, the determination of age at the time of
death becomes less precise the older the individual gets. Therefore age is most precisely estimated
in subadults (Adams, 2009). One of the most reliable indicators is the individual s dental
development. Teeth develop from before birth to about 18 years of age, when the formations come
to a conclusion. The observation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another technique to assess the age in subadults is to observe the epiphyseal fusion of the bones,
which takes place at a foreseeable rate (Adams, 2009). An example of this technique is the
Greulich and Pyle s atlas of the skeletal development of the hand and wrist, which studies in
particular the epiphyseal fusion of the metacarpals and phalanges, as well as the development of the
carpals (Anderson, 1971).
For adult individuals, it much harder to get an accurate age estimation due to the fact that people
age differently which also allows for more variation making the estimation intervals much larger
(Adams, 2009). In adults, age can be estimated through the study of different parts of the thoracic
cage and the pelvis. The first part of interest is the medial clavicle. Age is determined through the
study of the epiphyseal fusion. The epiphysis in those bones is the last to fuse and usually starts
between the ages of 18 and 25. When the medial clavicle is fully fused the individual is in
general over 25 years old (McKern, 1957). The second part of the thoracic cage that is used to
ascertain age is the sternal end of the fourth rib. The characteristics looked at are the formation of a
pit, its depth and shape, configuration of the walls and rim surrounding it, and the overall texture
and quality of the bone (Iscan, 1991, p617). With age, the pit found at the top of the rib deepens and
widens, thinning the

The Musculoskeletal System
What is musculoskeletal system?
The musculoskeletal system, also known as the locomotor system, is the system which involves
around the body s structure and the movement of bones via the use of muscles in the body. This
system has many parts such as muscles, bone structure, ligaments, cartilage, tendons, joints and
other connective tissues involved in this system.
Structure of the bones
The bones are one of the most important structures in the musculoskeletal system as it supports
the body, provides the body a form and provides stability. There are 206 bones in the body which
protects the vital organs such as the heart, lungs and other vital organs as well as the skull which
protects the brain. Bones also allows the body to store minerals and within a bone there is bone
marrow located in the middle of the bone and this produces white blood cells (WBC), red blood
cells (RBC) and platelets. The types of bones are skull, spine, chest, arms, legs, hands, pelvis, and
feet.

There are 3 types of bones in human body, the fibrous, cartilaginous and the synovial joint. The

another and can classified into 2 types of cartilaginous joints, synchondroses and sympheses.
Synchondroses joints are joints that are temporary joints that are found in children until the end of

Literary Analysis Of The Mill On The Floss
The Mill on the Floss was unlike any production I ve ever seen. Over and over again, different
production choices made me raise an eyebrow, but after chewing on them, those deliberate
decisions made sense. Ultimately, the play s use of unrealistic elements served as a means for the
audience to step further into Maggie s life and to glean greater meaning from the production. This
could be seen in numerous places throughout the play: when cousin Lucy was portrayed as a doll,
when Maggie was portrayed by three different people and when she symbolically drowned on
the ducking chair (Edmundsen Houghton). All of those instances came together to create a
harmony in the play. In one of the first obvious moments of the theatricalized nature of the play,
Maggie s family rolled on her cousin, Lucy (more or less). She was a child sized mannequin.
While at first glance this seemed like a stale joke, I began to realize that from Maggie s point of
view, Lucy was the doll. Fragile, delicate, quiet and lady like in every way. Maggie, on the other
hand, saw herself as a wicked wench (as her father lovingly called her). She read books down by
the river, only to return with her hair ratted and matted every which way (Edmundsen Houghton).
In her own eyes, she could never be as obedient and loved as Lucy. The simple choiceof using the
doll brought about a completely new perspective that allowed audiencemembers to interpret and
learn differently. Another highly theatricalized moment in

Although I did not have to input different changes like I had to during tech week, I did have to
pay attention and fulfill my other responsibilities that come along with being the lighting board
operator. One of the most nerve wracking aspects that came along with the responsibilities of
being the lighting board operator was that before every show, I had to perform a channel check
and make sure that every single light used in the show was working and check to see if any of
the gels had to be replaced. As I mentioned earlier, I had little experience with lighting, so it was
always difficult for me to be absolutely sure that everything was in check. I had a constant fear
of not checking one of the lights correctly, which would cause at least one moment in the show
to not appear exactly how the lighting designer envisioned it would be. Luckily, nothing to that
degree ever occurred during the whole process of the production and from where I was sitting,
the lighting appeared to be as it was supposed to be. One of the most difficult cues to initiate was
the lighting cue that started the follow cues for the moment, Gem City . The stage manager called
the lighting and sound cues for Gem City at the same time and the lighting designer also made
each follow cue a very specific amount of time in order to properly align with the sound of the
static noise. If I pressed the go button even

that it is up to the child to decide what they do to their bodies but those decisions can negatively

medically necessary, to this, teenagers under the age of 18 should not be allowed, even with

The story is about the relationship between Hosea and his wife, Gomer, and how their lives parallel
that of the northern kingdom of Israel. There are several themes in the book of Hosea and I will

The LORD tells Hosea to love his wife again so he buys her back from a slave market and tells her
she must live with and be faithful to him. The LORD is extremely distressed by Israel s lack of
love and acknowledgment of His existence. He describes how they have reverted to lying,
cheating , stealing, murder, etc. and further fail to follow his word. The priests during this time
are not to be let off lightly. God tells how the priests have not spread His message, but rather they
ve fed off the Israelites sins. God tells how he s going to punish the people of Israel, for their sins,
and the priests, for their lack of concern. He closes by saying he will go to his place and not
recognize the peoples of Israel until they earnestly seek him out.
In chapter 11 God capsulizes Israel s sins and his judgment against the people. He describes how
he chose the Israelites as His people and how he delivered them from slavery in Egypt. During
this dissertation he has a change of heart and decides he will not destroy the nation Israel even if
they turn from Him. He decides he will force Israel to repent by less destructive means.
In chapter 12 Hosea preaches the Lord s message to the Israelites. He starts by describing Israel s
sins against God and how the

Cardiovascular Diseases
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. The high range of
cardiovascular deaths is due to the severe effects on the heart. The heart works to pump blood in
and out of the heart to the organs that need it. A blockage or narrowing of the blood vessels can
cause a heart attack or severe complications to the heart. There are many different types of
cardiovascular diseases that can affect a patient s health and can cause complications to dental
treatment. It is important during the medical history to be aware of the patient s health history
including cardiovascular diseases and observing potential risk factors. The ASA physical status of
each patient is important to identify due to treatment modifications or limitations. Certain special
needs of these patients must be identified for further treatment. The two cardiovascular diseases
being discussed in this paper are myocardial infarction and hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
Myocardial infarction is a term used for a heart attack and can cause special needs to be
addressed before the patient comes for an appointment. Myocardial infarction (MI), the second
manifestation of coronary heart disease, is a reduction of blood flow through one of the coronary
arteries, resulting in an infarct (Darby, Walsh, 2010, 213). This type of cardiovascular disease can
lead to death if not treated as a medical

The Construction Of The Parthenon In Athens, Greece
The Parthenon is located in Athens,Greece. It was constructed approximately in 447 BC and

In The Road by Cormac McCarthy the father and the son overcomes nature s obstacles is shown
through the use of setting to communicate to the audience that no matter what horrible situation
you re in they will still be sunshine whether that is literally or if it is figuratively like it is for the
father; his son is his light.
In The Road by Cormac McCarthy the father and the son overcomes nature s obstacles by dealing
with cannibals. The father and the son face many dangers and cannibals are one of the biggest.
Throughout the book they encounter many sites of cannibalism. Such as the time when they come

closer look... They walked into the little clearing, the boy clutching his hand... he looker quickly to
see what had happened. What is it? He said. What is it? The boy shook his head. Oh Papa, he said.
He turned and looked again. What the boy had seen was a charred human infant, headless and

The Natural Resources Of Canada
Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, A river is more than an amenity, it is a treasure, and there are
about 750 million peop6le who would support him on that statement. Is it fair that the people
who do not have clean water to drink, or wash with everyday must use water that is contaminated
with copper, lead, nickel and selenium? For an example, take Canada and India. Two very
different countries, from opposite sides of the world. They barely have any similarities,
especially when it comes to the amount of clean water, the purity of the water they do have, and
how those countries work towards conserving this natural resource. Although both countries are
amongst the top ten amount of renewable water available to their citizens, they highly differ
when it comes to what they do with it. Canada has got many bodies of water to get their
resources from, unlike many other countries. First of all, over seventy percent of Canada s
population lives in the Southern Part of Ontario. This means that they live very close to The
Great Lakes which provides a lot of water resources. In addition to that, Canada is surrounded by
the Pacific, Atlantic, and the Arctic Oceans and has over 243,000 km of coastline. There are
hundreds and thousands of different bodies of water around Canada. According to Statistics

To prove this point, a fair review of the recent evidence indicates that red meat is one of the
healthiest foods you can eat. Many people studying red meat have found that some of the studies
show that the data on red meat and colorectal cancer fail to prove a clear positive relationship
between red meat consumption and colorectal cancer. Even more, researchers say that there is no
consistent evidence proving that the saturated fat found in red meat can raise blood cholesterol
levels. 350,000 participants participated in studies that found no relationship between saturated fat
intake and coronary heart disease or cardiovascular disease. Another study, consisting of 60,000
Japanese women, found an odd relationship between saturated fat consumption and stroke: the
more saturated fat meat eaters consumed, the lower their risk of stroke. Many of these studies are
proving that you can live your life understanding that including red meat in your diet isn t taking
you one step closer to an early grave. (Kresser). Red meat provides many minerals and vitamins

Feminist Theology
Feminist Theology
Feminist theology is based on the idea of not lord but brother . Jesus Christ himself stepped
outside of societies norms by befriending the outcasts of society, which included women. Women
are often portrayed as the cause of or focus of evil and misdeeds in the bible. The focus of feminist
theology is the perspective of theology from those who were outcast and therefore considered
themselves as equals and friends to Jesus Christ. If there is anything they desire to know, let
them ask their husbands. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. (1 Cor.14:33 35)
Feminist theologians are logical and educated with their approach to the view of the Lord as an
equal who is to be believed in and epitomized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Holy Spirit itself seems to have a feminine quality to its nature. The mystery of the Trinity is
by no means that simple. But the fact that it is a mystery would indicate that it is presumptive to
assume that any part of the Trinity other than Jesus is either male or female. The significance of
Jesus is not his maleness but his humanness. In the movie, The DaVinci Code, (although many
liberties are taken with the biblical basis and texts), there is a very real focus on the feminine idea
behind Christianity. What if women were supposed to carry on the Christian tradition and the
church? This idea shakes the very foundation of early and modern Christianity to the core. The
Bible itself was written by men, the Council at Nicaea was attended by men, is it so far fetched
that maybe the men got it wrong? This idea is radical but has an affect on the feminist
perspective that is found in several sources of research. There are several ideas from a feminine
point of view that even change the focus of Jesus as simply a man.
There is much feminist imagery related to Jesus as well. He gave birth to humanity through his
death. This birth language is feminine and using maternal images to describe the life, teachings and
sufferings of Jesus is powerful indeed. It has the potential to link inevitable stereotypes for woman
to be mothers and nothing else but women in the church have left their mark

Why Do You Want To Be Single Essay
Most people would say that they would loved to get married one day and have a family. With me
in this season of life and right now I feel that I am content with singleness. Some people may ask
why have I not found somebody yet. I think I could feel the same way.I feel that God has a
purpose and the reason why I am single in this season of my life. There are many things that God
says about singleness and what others say about singleness and what I think when I am single.
There is a feeling and longing of lovethat you wantfrom someone. I could say that with God you
can find that love and the hope He gives you. There are many expectations , limitations, and
principles that come from singleness. The first expectation that I have with being single is being
content in being... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many things that you can do to serve God in your time. The first thing I can do is to
serve at my local church and do things to get involved and help where it is needed. Serving is
something I like to do. I can served the Lord in anyway that He wants me to. We want to work for
the Lord because with what we can do for his kingdom. We can see His heart for people and what
he wants us to do. We can see with His eyes. Serving the Lord is worth it because it shows others
the love and you can make a difference by doing it.
Another expectation of singleness is being wed in the Lord. I think this means that I will live
my life with the lord and love him with an everlasting love as He did when He sacrifice his son
and gave us life to live. We are the bride of Christ. I am His daughter who loves me
unconditonally. I think we can see the fulfillment that comes from know Christ and see his
goodness that is around us. He fills us with a happiness that overflows and gives me something to
look forward to each and every single day. There is a fulfillment that comes when knowing Christ.
He has me in his hand and loves me no matter

The Healthcare Reform Act in Texas
The consequence of The Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act in Texas On June 28,
2012, The Supreme Court ruled the Federal Government does not have the constitutional right to
sanction an individual to buy health insurance, but declared that the states do have the right to
place a tax on citizens that do not carry insurance. This ruling is in response to President Obama
s Patient Protection and Healthcare Act of 2010. Passed on March 23, 2010, President Obama s
Reform Act mandates Texas, as well as the nation, to provide Medicaid funding to all individuals
that are uninsured by 2014. As well as expanding Medicaid, it will provide exchanges, which are
pools of insurance companies a previously uninsured person can pick... Show more content on

That mostly depends on our Presidential election in November. If a Republican wins office they
could option not to enforce the act or overturn it during Legislative session. As long as Governor
Perry is in office, there will be no expansion of Medicaid until at least 2014. Since, Governor
Perry is not expanding the Medicaid system, as a state will need to prepare for higher insurance
premiums to cover the costs that Medicaid does not. The state will need to revamp the state
Medicaid system because our population is rising higher than the cost of healthcare. As of
December of 2011 total enrollment in Medicaid was 3,652,591. This cost the state of Texas 12.8
billion dollars, paid for by our taxpayers. As our state population increases it is estimated 1.2
million newly eligible Texans for Medicaid, and by 2019 it will cost the state and additional 5.3
billion in taxes (Texas Health and Human Services Commission, 2012). Rick Perry told Fox
news on July 8th, 2012 that Texas wouldn t be a part of socializing healthcare, and the only
solution to fixing Texas healthcare is to have the Federal Government block grant the state
funding to fix the healthcare options instead of giving a one size fits all, cookie cutter solution
(News, 2012). Even state Medicaid Chief, Billy Millwee supports Perry. In an interview to The
Texas Tribune he calls Medicaid,

Origins of the N-Word Essay
The words Negro, nigger, and nigga have always been a sensitive topic, yet it is a topic that
needs to be addressed in light of the more common use of its vernacular. One word is used to
describe a color, while the others are used to define a people. It s very clear to many the negative
connotation these words carry, but where did these words come from? Furthermore, is there a
difference between the word niggerand nigga; and why is it that African Americans now use the
word nigga to degrade each other in today s society? These words, in spite of their spelling, still
holds the same degrading power as it did during the time of slavery, and they are still spoken out of
cruelty and ignorance, but who is to blame? Can one still blame the... Show more content on

The Europeans no longer used the word to describe a color, but used it to describe a people. No
matter what the origin, this word was used as a weapon to destroy and kill the mind and spirit of
a race, and has become the self fulfilling prophecy for many African Americans today. So many
people have forgotten or either do not realize the destruction behind this racial slur; that it has
simply become another by word with a forgotten history. Ignorance is the state of being
uneducated, unaware, or uniformed. There is an old saying, What you don t know, won t hurt
you, but I contend that what you don t know can stifle you from moving ahead. There are so
many young African Americans walking in ignorance to the history of their race. For example,
when I was growing up, my attentive parents often took opportunities to teach me about and
encouraged me not to sit on the back of a public transportation bus. Their ideology came from the
idea that there were many who fought for, were imprisoned, and even died for my right to sit
anywhere on a public bus. However, I consistently watched as my African American friends
immediately flocked to the back of a bus. I used to mentally ask myself, Do they not know their
history?

VI Adaptive Maintenance
Adaptive maintenance is the process of creating flexible enhancements for a given piece of
software. The addition of such features can be alluring to potential customers in that it could
potentially offer something unique, or it could simplify a computerized process by executing
new ideas or making use of new technologies. The process of enhancing current software
however, can be a bit difficult as changes would have to be able to integrate almost seamlessly to
the overall structure of the existing program. In some cases the process is further complicated by
the fact that existing code may need to be carefully modified in order to be able to make the
intended modifications.
Occasionally desired changes cannot fit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Programs that are well maintained and refined are also cheaper to maintain due to having a
better overall layout as well as better documentation. Programmers performing regular
maintenance on such systems are able to be more efficient and can potentially spot any errors
more easily. In some cases, a complete overhaul is necessary in order to improve the quality of a
program. No system is truly perfect, however perfective maintenance can forestall the rate at
which complications arise. One disadvantage is that a massive restructuring of assembly language
could have a negative impact on the portability of the software itself. Typically systems that would
be most likely to invest in perfective maintenance are those which serve an essential purpose in
everyday life. One example would be a banking system in order to protect their software and avoid
massive defects that could significantly impact their regular business operations.
VIII Reengineering Source Code Sometimes coding is so badly written that it may as well be a
foreign language with non descriptive variable names and few if any comments. Such code may be
easily understood by the original programmer, however it can be difficult to read for anyone else.
In such a scenario it would be beneficial to reengineer the code so that it s more readable and
easily understood by most anyone who needs to work with it. Restructuring

3. If hypothetically the economy were producing only1 butter and 10 guns, it could be concludes
increasing opportunity cost, because when the graph moves from A to E, it must give up larger
amounts of butter to acquire equal amounts of guns. This is shown through the slope of the
production possibilities curve, which gets steeper as we move from A to E (McConnell, Brue,
Flynn, 2015) 4. Production outside the production possibility curve would currently be unattainable.
The production that is attainable is inside of, on the shape of, or on the line of the curve.
Technological changes such as production methods, could allow for attainability of production
outside of the curve, as technological advancements may allow production of more guns and butter.
International trade permit consumption also allows for production beyond the possibilities curve,
in that the country being traded to may specialize in guns and butter. We could trade something
that we produce at a very low opportunity cost, therefore making production of guns and butter
cost less. (McConnell, Brue, Flynn 2015) Problem B. Evaluate each of the following changes in
supply and/or demand. How will each affect equilibrium price and quantity in a competitive
market? Will price and quantity rise, fall, or be unchanged? Based on shifts, will the answers be
indeterminate? 1. Supply decreases and

Analysis Of No Firemen At Ground Zero By Michael Burke
In the article No Firemen at Ground Zero This 9/11? , Michael Burke uses multiple techniques to
persuade his audience of the injustice committed against the first responders of 9/11 by excluding
them from the 10 year anniversary at Ground Zero. Burke works towards the goal of having first
responders be included in the memorial at Ground Zero, after Mayor Bloomberg claims there isn t
enough room. Throughout the piece, Burke targets his argument at the influential readers of the
Wall Street Journal in New York to get them to use their influence to put pressure on Bloomberg to
get the first responders to be properly honored. Some of the most important strategy that Burke uses
to persuade his audience is the structure of his piece, and his... Show more content on

As Burke eventually does argue that first responders should be included in the memorial, he
makes sure to point out that denying them the privilege of coming to the memorial would deny
the first responders their due and proper honor .This would not be as impactful if Burke would
not have started his piece by emphasizing the horrors that the first responders voluntarily walked
into. By organizing the piece the way Burke did, it allowed him to shape the reader s viewpoint
of first responders before he even began arguing his point that first responders must be honored
at Ground Zero on the ten year anniversary of 9/11. Another powerful technique that Burke uses
to persuade his audience is he uses quotes. Burke uses quotes from people who were at the scene
of 9/11 themselves. Burke quotes a woman who was descending from the 89th floor who said
When I saw the firemen I knew we would be all right. By using quotes like this, Burke shows the
emotional reinsurance that the first responders gave to the people involved in the attack. By
showing the emotional response to the first responders, it makes the reader clearly see the
importance of the presence of first responders on the scene and the impact they had on the
victims. The first responders altered the emotional atmosphere of the scene. This shows the
significant of the first responders at the scene and how discluding them from the memorial is
atrocious . Quotes worked hand

Social Hierarchies In Ancient Mesopotamia
The main social hierarchies in ancient Mesopotamian societies tended to be very similar. In
general, everything revolved around the King and the upper class such as, priests, scribes,
merchants and artisans, and the majority of society consisted of commoners and slaves, whose
way of life revolved around farming. For example, The Code of Hammurabi, law 15 states, If a
man should enable a palace slave, a palace slave woman, a commoner s slave, or a commoner s
slave woman to leave through the main city gates, he shall be killed (p. 19). Another great
example is Law 112 that posits, If a merchant should give silver to a trading agent for an
investment venture, and he incurs a loss on his journeys, he shall return silver to the merchant in
the amount of the capital sum (p. 20). It is also important to note that the King was known to have

Society was clearly patriarchal and fathers had considerable power over their families. However,
women appeared to have more protection under The Code of Hammurabi. A male could sell
their family members into slavery. Law 117 stated, If an obligation is outstanding against a man
and he sell or gives into debt service his wife, his son, or his daughter, they shall perform service
in the house of their buyer or of the one who holds them in debt service for three years; their
release shall be secured in the fourth year (p. 20). If the father wanted to disinherit child, they
had to prove evidence of behavior and bring it before the judges. Law 169 describes this process,
If he should be guilty of a grave offense deserving the penalty of disinheritance by his father, they
shall pardon him for his first one; if he should commit a grave offense a second time, the father
may disinherit his son (p. 22). This method provided women and their children a little protection
from societies

  • 2. The Pros and Cons of RussiaВґs Economy Essay Russia s economy is very complex and also very terrible at the same time. Many other economy s are also like this but Russia s is a very interesting thing to learn about. Russia s economy has many things wrong with it that in the long run could probably affected it in a negative way. But it also has many positive things about it.The negatives and the positives are, in my opinion, are equal in Russiaeconomy. Lets start out with the good things that Russia s economy has. Russia has an more than enough natural resources. They have plenty of timber, precious metals, oil, gas, and coal. Those resources being exported could easily benefit their economy if it wasn t for other countries who produce more of the resources taking their potential... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another reason that their economy won t fall is they still have a budget surplus which it s GDP isn t very high. And one of the most important reasons is that Russia s unemployment rate is at one of it s lowest in Soviet history. So, based on those facts it s safe to say that the Russian economy isn t going to crash anytime soon. Russia s economy has been becoming tight on public finances but they believe that it ll help their economy. The reason they think it ll help their economy is because it help keep inflationunder control. They are also trying to get interest rates cut down to a smaller amount which will also help out the economy. The Russian government has been preparing for big unemployment rises due to the monopolies. The monopolies are saying it ll help people find new jobs but it really won t because now they ll be on the unemployment list and will be having the government paying them until they find a new job. By having more people on the unemployment list it adds to the country s debt. Russia is already in debt and it couldn t really afford to be put into more. Russia s national debt is around 6,709,506,270,191. Russia is so large that it makes sense that there national debt is so high. In the U.S. our country isn t big at all compared to Russia and we are in 11 trillion dollars more in debt then they are. • 3. Proposal for Quality of Work Life A STUDY ON QUALITY OF WORK LIFE IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR INTRODUCTION Human resources play a very important role in success of an organization and thus, management of human resource assumes importance. Many aspects affect the management of human resources. One such aspect is Quality of Work Life (QWL). It is a philosophy, a set of principles, which holds that people are the most important resource in the organization as they are trustworthy, responsible and capable of making valuable contribution and they should be treated with dignity and respect . The elements that are relevant to an individual s quality of work life include the task, the physical work environment, social environment within the organization, Administrative system and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this context, subjective well being is seen as drawing upon both work and non work aspects of life. However, more complex models of an individual s experience in the workplace often appear to be set aside in an Endeavour to simplify the process of trying to measuring stress or some similarly apparently discrete entity. It may be, however, that the consideration of the bigger, more complex picture is essential, if targeted, effective action is to be taken to address quality of working life or any of it s sub components in such a way as to produce real benefits, be they for the individual or the organization. Whilst Quality of Life has been more widely studied (4), Quality of working life, remains relatively unexplored and unexplained. A review of the literature reveals relatively little on quality of working life. Where quality of working life has been explored, writers differ in their views on its core constituents. It is argued that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts as regards Quality of working Life, and, therefore, the failure to attend to the bigger picture may lead to the failure of interventions which tackle only one aspect. A clearer understanding of the inter relationship of the various facets of quality of working life offers the opportunity for improved analysis of cause and effect in the workplace....This consideration of ... • 4. Using Compact And High Performance Wireless Communication... Chapter 1 Introduction The patch antenna plays a very important role in today s world of wireless communication systems .There is always a large demand for high performance ,small size and low cost wireless communication systems .in order to get these requirements ,planar patch antenna is preferred because of their various advantages such as light weight ,low volume ,low cost and ease for fabrication .although the microstrip patch antenna has various advantages it has various disadvantages which are low gain ,narrow bandwidth and low efficiency .These disadvantages can be overcome by constructing many patch antennas in array configuration. Recently there has been increasing demand in the use of DGSs for performance enhancement of microstrip patch antennas and planar array antennas .there are basically two types of structures which are used for the design of compact and high performance wireless communication systems named as defected ground structures (DGS) and electromagnetic band gap structures (EBG) which is also known as photonic band gap structure(PBG). These structures have been used to obtain the functions such as unwanted frequency rejection and circuit size reduction. Recently defected ground structures have been introduced; DGSs are realized by simply etching off simple shape (called as defect) from the ground plane .Depending upon the shape and the dimensions of the defects ,the current distribution in the ground plane is disturbed and resulting in a controlled ... Another effect made by the 9/11 World Trade Center attack has been the United States stance on immigration and deportation. 9/11 was a turning point in American history because it had a major effect on our society. • 7. Summary Of The Canterbury Tales By Geoffrey Chaucer Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales, a collection of short tales in the 14th century. The compilation of stories is told by pilgrims on the journey within the narrative as part of a game proposed by the host. Each individual must tell two stories of their journey. My favorite pilgrim was the Franklin. The Franklin was a gentry landowner, member of the nobility, who had extensive holdings. He belonged to the middle class and was a man of leisure. Chaucer described him as White as a daisy petal was his beard. A sanguine man, high colored and benign (line 342 343). The Franklin sported a white beard and carried a dagger and a white silk purse. He had a cheerful personality and was confident. His only reason to be on this pilgrimage was to enjoy himself. The Franklin was traveling with the Man of Law. According to Chaucer he He loved a morning sop of cake in wine. He lived for pleasure and had always done ( line 344). I think that Chaucer had a good opinion of the Franklin. The way that Chaucer describes the Franklin makes the reader think that Chaucer likes him. He says that The Franklin is calm, strong and an overall a cheerful guy. Chaucer also proves that he thinks highly of the Franklin by saying, He was a model among landed gentry (line 369 370). He lives to please others and has a house full of food. The Franklin, according to Chaucer, had an overall great sense of hospitality. The Franklin s deadly sin was gluttony. He liked to overindulge himself ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The View Of The Afterlife Essay Classical World Influences Introduction The aim of my report is to explain how the view of the afterlife in Ancient Greece has shaped works of art, books and the mentality of people. In order to do this I am going to explore how ancient Greek people saw the underworld as well as Roman people and the Renaissance period. Because Greeks saw the underworld as a dark, dreadful and gloomy place, many of the works that refer to it, either in Roman times or the Renaissance, are influenced by this view. In particular works like the Odyssey by Homer or The Phaedo by Plato, explained to a certain level the structure of the afterlife in ancient Greece. These two pieces of literature severely influenced works like the book VI of the Aeneid by Virgil where he depicts the underworld referencing to the Greek point of view. But a deeper description of the underworld is given by Dante in his Divine Comedy where he uses Virgil as his guide, from the depths of hellto the Purgatory while Beatrice, Dante s ideal woman, guides him through heaven. All these time periods shared the idea of the underworld as being a place where souls pay the sins they committed during their lives. Afterlife in Ancient Greece The afterlife in ancient Greece was Known as Hades. It was a grey world ruled by Hades, the Lord of the Dead. If they had a virtuous life they could enjoy the sunny pleasures of the Elysium or paradise, if they had a wicked life, then they fell into the dark pits of Tartarus, while if they ... However, despite the play s emphasis on combat and victory, King Henry V, also presents a strong unification of the charater s seeking or protecting for what they call home. For many of the play s characters, the domestic sphere represents an ideal space to which they will return to or represent though their interactions. The domestic sphere intercedes onto the battlefield providing context as to what the characters are fighting and dying for. The play s commoners use the tavern as a domestic sphere which is a reoccurring setting for characters like Pistol and Bardolph. It provides an ideal atmosphere for their interactions during times of peace as the tavern also functions as the plays comic relief for Acts II and III in the play. • 15. The Impact Of Senior Management On Corporate Governance (1) All Powerful CEO Back in 1985, a venture capital firm Hambrecht Quist invested in MiniScribe, and Mr. Wile was selected as the chairman. After that, he eliminated one fifth of MiniScribe s work force and overhauled the company from top to bottom. In addition, he held his divisional managers accountable, which show us that Mr. Wile had unending control to the company. Although the Board later was restructured to include new members, they either worked for or were affiliated with Mr. Wile and the Hambrecht Quist group. All of these phenomenon indicate a powerful CEO, which is harmful for a company s healthy operation. Further, during his tenure, he usually managed MiniScribe from California, which gave him seldom chances to oversee real company operation. Besides, since he held several similar positions at the same time, he can t devote all his energy to MiniScribe. Evidences in several forms have suggest that senior management was involved in fraudulent financial reporting activities, which indicates a failure of corporate governance. The second was the protest against the Babylon system and oppression. To the Rastafari, the Babylon system is any and all oppressive and unequal practices in Jamaica. Babylon began to surface throughout reggae music. Reggae lyrics are suggestive of the reggae protest songs. Bob Marley is a great example of capturing his strong negative views of Babylon. Reggae protest songs proved to be a force with power, both socially and politically. Ironically the Jamaican government would use reggae as a vehicle to promote its views (King, xiv). Nick also receives credence from many of the other characters. But for a soul like Nick, living in the 1920s doesn t seem to be his era. The 1920 s was an era for being easy going, partying, and investing in the stock market. Although popular culture did not pay much attention to it when it was first introduced in the 1930s, it has since become equated with the very essence of rock and roll music. On an international level, the electric guitar is by far the most famous instrument to come out of the United States (howstuffworks.com). Background Inventors have been playing with the idea of electrically powered musical instruments since the 1800s, but the first attempts at an amplified instrument did not come until the development of electrical amplification by the radio industry in the 1920s. These include certain relationships between velocity, wavelength, and frequency and equations that describe the motion of a string fixed at both ends. How Pick Ups Work: Electric guitar pick ups work by employing principles of magnetic induction. The pick ups are composed of small electromagnets (magnets that are wrapped with a coil of wire, thus allowing an electric current to flow through them). Because of their close proximity to the strings, these magnets induce a north and south pole on the strings. When the string is played, it begins to oscillate, or move in a wave like fashion. This affects the field surrounding the pick up and causes a change in the magnetic field. These changes, or fluctuations in the magnetic field are transmitted through the wires connecting the pick up(s) to the output jack and are thus relayed to the amplifier where they are sent to the speaker and converted from electrical energy once again into motion energy (sound). (Brain, n.p.) Electromagnets can turn electrical energy into motion. Likewise the converse is true: they can turn motion into electrical energy. Such is the case with electric guitar pick ups. (Zusak 242) Now the reader anticipates a near death for this young character. The next instance of foreshadowing is not related to death, and gives away no more than a slice of what is about to come in the story. After the protagonist makes her first steal at the graveyard of her brother, when she steals: The Gravediggers Handbook, Death tells us the future of Liesel s stealing career with books. Liesel owned fourteen books, of the ten most prominent, ...six were stolen, one showed up at the kitchen table, two were made for her by a hidden Jew, and one was delivered by a soft, yellow dressed afternoon. (Zusak 30) From this we gather not only that Liesel continued a illustrious career of stealing, but also that her life entailed a hidden Jew. A third occurrence of foreshadowing in this novel is a discrete example of this device. After a stock character, named Frau Holtzapfel, spits on the door of the Hubermans, Death remarks, Both [of her sons] were in the army and both will make cameo appearances by the time we re finished here, I assure you. (Zusak 44) This hint at the future of the book is a preparation of what is to come for these characters, and if caught, is very important. While these foreshadowings may be hard to catch on to, they can give away essential information to the story. Irony is third and final literary device the reader finds to enhance the story. In fact, when analysing an individual s skeletal features it is possible to constitute a biological profile. In this essay, I aim to explore the multiple elements that a human skeleton could shed light upon such as age, sex, stature, diet, health and trauma. Due to the natural breakdown of the skeleton with age, the determination of age at the time of death becomes less precise the older the individual gets. Therefore age is most precisely estimated in subadults (Adams, 2009). One of the most reliable indicators is the individual s dental development. Teeth develop from before birth to about 18 years of age, when the formations come to a conclusion. The observation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another technique to assess the age in subadults is to observe the epiphyseal fusion of the bones, which takes place at a foreseeable rate (Adams, 2009). An example of this technique is the Greulich and Pyle s atlas of the skeletal development of the hand and wrist, which studies in particular the epiphyseal fusion of the metacarpals and phalanges, as well as the development of the carpals (Anderson, 1971). For adult individuals, it much harder to get an accurate age estimation due to the fact that people age differently which also allows for more variation making the estimation intervals much larger (Adams, 2009). In adults, age can be estimated through the study of different parts of the thoracic cage and the pelvis. The first part of interest is the medial clavicle. Age is determined through the study of the epiphyseal fusion. The epiphysis in those bones is the last to fuse and usually starts between the ages of 18 and 25. When the medial clavicle is fully fused the individual is in general over 25 years old (McKern, 1957). The second part of the thoracic cage that is used to ascertain age is the sternal end of the fourth rib. The characteristics looked at are the formation of a pit, its depth and shape, configuration of the walls and rim surrounding it, and the overall texture and quality of the bone (Iscan, 1991, p617). • 23. Literary Analysis Of The Mill On The Floss The Mill on the Floss was unlike any production I ve ever seen. Over and over again, different production choices made me raise an eyebrow, but after chewing on them, those deliberate decisions made sense. Ultimately, the play s use of unrealistic elements served as a means for the audience to step further into Maggie s life and to glean greater meaning from the production. This could be seen in numerous places throughout the play: when cousin Lucy was portrayed as a doll, when Maggie was portrayed by three different people and when she symbolically drowned on the ducking chair (Edmundsen Houghton). All of those instances came together to create a harmony in the play. In one of the first obvious moments of the theatricalized nature of the play, Maggie s family rolled on her cousin, Lucy (more or less). She was a child sized mannequin. While at first glance this seemed like a stale joke, I began to realize that from Maggie s point of view, Lucy was the doll. Fragile, delicate, quiet and lady like in every way. Maggie, on the other hand, saw herself as a wicked wench (as her father lovingly called her). She read books down by the river, only to return with her hair ratted and matted every which way (Edmundsen Houghton). In her own eyes, she could never be as obedient and loved as Lucy. The simple choiceof using the doll brought about a completely new perspective that allowed audiencemembers to interpret and learn differently. Another highly theatricalized moment in ... As I mentioned earlier, I had little experience with lighting, so it was always difficult for me to be absolutely sure that everything was in check. I had a constant fear of not checking one of the lights correctly, which would cause at least one moment in the show to not appear exactly how the lighting designer envisioned it would be. Under their existing loyalty program (Wellness+), Rite Aid issued reward dollars (+Ups) which were valid for 2 weeks and could be used only within their stores. Rite Aid was concerned that if they join Plenti that they will issue a large number of loyalty points which will be redeemed at other partners especially the Grocery partner and they will be effectively subsidizing the program for them. Challenge As part of the negotiations, our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We used Census data to estimate customer shopping frequency at sponsors and geographic overlap. We estimated approximately 70% of coalition members stay in Rite Aid s footprint while only 40% of members will be enrolled through Rite Aid. The analysis implied $30 $40M redemptions will happen at other sponsors within Rite Aid s footprint. We estimated we could influence redemption behavior at Rite Aid by running promotions (e.g., 1000 points are worth $12). So by spending $2 $6M we could influence $10 $30 of redemptions at Rite Aid. As we discussed with Rite Aid, their concern was more around losing margin on sales associated with point redemption. At 30% margin it implied risk of $3 10M risk each year Result We combined the information and agreed with Rite Aid to reimburse them for margin shortfall if points redeemed in stores was less than points redeemed outside their stores and also proposed annual cap of $3M $9M, with claw backs if are able to outperform in subsequent years. The structure helped address Rite Aid s concern and at same time limited our risk to $2 6MM each year which was significantly lower than the revenue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Jane Jacobs Research Paper Jane Jacobs was born Jane Butzner in 1916, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, 120 miles northwest from New York, to a Protestant family. Her mother was a trained teacher working as a nurse and her father a physician. Jacobs often mentioned the influence of her parents who encouraged her self confidence and autonomy; particularly the importance of her father, John Butzner, who stimulated his children to think independently and not to be shy of their thoughts, however original they were. Both of her parents were born in small towns, but got educated and then settled in big cities. They would tell their offspring that life in the city was far better than in the country. Little wonder their daughter Jane loved the urban life and its energy. Sadly, beginning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Feminist Theology Feminist Theology Feminist theology is based on the idea of not lord but brother . Jesus Christ himself stepped outside of societies norms by befriending the outcasts of society, which included women. Women are often portrayed as the cause of or focus of evil and misdeeds in the bible. The focus of feminist theology is the perspective of theology from those who were outcast and therefore considered themselves as equals and friends to Jesus Christ. If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. (1 Cor.14:33 35) Feminist theologians are logical and educated with their approach to the view of the Lord as an equal who is to be believed in and epitomized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Holy Spirit itself seems to have a feminine quality to its nature. The mystery of the Trinity is by no means that simple. But the fact that it is a mystery would indicate that it is presumptive to assume that any part of the Trinity other than Jesus is either male or female. The significance of Jesus is not his maleness but his humanness. In the movie, The DaVinci Code, (although many liberties are taken with the biblical basis and texts), there is a very real focus on the feminine idea behind Christianity. What if women were supposed to carry on the Christian tradition and the church? This idea shakes the very foundation of early and modern Christianity to the core. The Bible itself was written by men, the Council at Nicaea was attended by men, is it so far fetched that maybe the men got it wrong? This idea is radical but has an affect on the feminist perspective that is found in several sources of research. There are several ideas from a feminine point of view that even change the focus of Jesus as simply a man. There is much feminist imagery related to Jesus as well. He gave birth to humanity through his death. This birth language is feminine and using maternal images to describe the life, teachings and sufferings of Jesus is powerful indeed. It has the potential to link inevitable stereotypes for woman to be mothers and nothing else but women in the church have left their mark ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Healthcare Reform Act in Texas The consequence of The Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act in Texas On June 28, 2012, The Supreme Court ruled the Federal Government does not have the constitutional right to sanction an individual to buy health insurance, but declared that the states do have the right to place a tax on citizens that do not carry insurance. This ruling is in response to President Obama s Patient Protection and Healthcare Act of 2010. Passed on March 23, 2010, President Obama s Reform Act mandates Texas, as well as the nation, to provide Medicaid funding to all individuals that are uninsured by 2014. That mostly depends on our Presidential election in November. If a Republican wins office they could option not to enforce the act or overturn it during Legislative session. As long as Governor Perry is in office, there will be no expansion of Medicaid until at least 2014. Since, Governor Perry is not expanding the Medicaid system, as a state will need to prepare for higher insurance premiums to cover the costs that Medicaid does not. The state will need to revamp the state Medicaid system because our population is rising higher than the cost of healthcare. As of December of 2011 total enrollment in Medicaid was 3,652,591. This cost the state of Texas 12.8 billion dollars, paid for by our taxpayers. As our state population increases it is estimated 1.2 million newly eligible Texans for Medicaid, and by 2019 it will cost the state and additional 5.3 billion in taxes (Texas Health and Human Services Commission, 2012). Rick Perry told Fox news on July 8th, 2012 that Texas wouldn t be a part of socializing healthcare, and the only solution to fixing Texas healthcare is to have the Federal Government block grant the state funding to fix the healthcare options instead of giving a one size fits all, cookie cutter solution (News, 2012). Origins of the N-Word Essay The words Negro, nigger, and nigga have always been a sensitive topic, yet it is a topic that needs to be addressed in light of the more common use of its vernacular. One word is used to describe a color, while the others are used to define a people. It s very clear to many the negative connotation these words carry, but where did these words come from? Furthermore, is there a difference between the word niggerand nigga; and why is it that African Americans now use the word nigga to degrade each other in today s society? No matter what the origin, this word was used as a weapon to destroy and kill the mind and spirit of a race, and has become the self fulfilling prophecy for many African Americans today. So many people have forgotten or either do not realize the destruction behind this racial slur; that it has simply become another by word with a forgotten history. Ignorance is the state of being uneducated, unaware, or uniformed. There is an old saying, What you don t know, won t hurt you, but I contend that what you don t know can stifle you from moving ahead. There are so many young African Americans walking in ignorance to the history of their race. For example, when I was growing up, my attentive parents often took opportunities to teach me about and encouraged me not to sit on the back of a public transportation bus. Their ideology came from the idea that there were many who fought for, were imprisoned, and even died for my right to sit anywhere on a public bus. However, I consistently watched as my African American friends immediately flocked to the back of a bus. I used to mentally ask myself, Do they not know their history? ... • 43. I V VI Adaptive Maintenance Adaptive maintenance is the process of creating flexible enhancements for a given piece of software. The addition of such features can be alluring to potential customers in that it could potentially offer something unique, or it could simplify a computerized process by executing new ideas or making use of new technologies. The process of enhancing current software however, can be a bit difficult as changes would have to be able to integrate almost seamlessly to the overall structure of the existing program. In some cases the process is further complicated by the fact that existing code may need to be carefully modified in order to be able to make the intended modifications. Occasionally desired changes cannot fit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Programs that are well maintained and refined are also cheaper to maintain due to having a better overall layout as well as better documentation. Programmers performing regular maintenance on such systems are able to be more efficient and can potentially spot any errors more easily. In some cases, a complete overhaul is necessary in order to improve the quality of a program. No system is truly perfect, however perfective maintenance can forestall the rate at which complications arise. One disadvantage is that a massive restructuring of assembly language could have a negative impact on the portability of the software itself. Typically systems that would be most likely to invest in perfective maintenance are those which serve an essential purpose in everyday life. One example would be a banking system in order to protect their software and avoid massive defects that could significantly impact their regular business operations. VIII Reengineering Source Code Sometimes coding is so badly written that it may as well be a foreign language with non descriptive variable names and few if any comments. Such code may be easily understood by the original programmer, however it can be difficult to read for anyone else. In such a scenario it would be beneficial to reengineer the code so that it s more readable and easily understood by most anyone who needs to work with it. Restructuring ... If hypothetically the economy were producing only1 butter and 10 guns, it could be concludes increasing opportunity cost, because when the graph moves from A to E, it must give up larger amounts of butter to acquire equal amounts of guns. This is shown through the slope of the production possibilities curve, which gets steeper as we move from A to E (McConnell, Brue, Flynn, 2015) 4. Production outside the production possibility curve would currently be unattainable. The production that is attainable is inside of, on the shape of, or on the line of the curve. Technological changes such as production methods, could allow for attainability of production outside of the curve, as technological advancements may allow production of more guns and butter. International trade permit consumption also allows for production beyond the possibilities curve, in that the country being traded to may specialize in guns and butter. We could trade something that we produce at a very low opportunity cost, therefore making production of guns and butter cost less. (McConnell, Brue, Flynn 2015) Problem B. Analysis Of No Firemen At Ground Zero By Michael Burke In the article No Firemen at Ground Zero This 9/11? , Michael Burke uses multiple techniques to persuade his audience of the injustice committed against the first responders of 9/11 by excluding them from the 10 year anniversary at Ground Zero. Burke works towards the goal of having first responders be included in the memorial at Ground Zero, after Mayor Bloomberg claims there isn t enough room. Throughout the piece, Burke targets his argument at the influential readers of the Wall Street Journal in New York to get them to use their influence to put pressure on Bloomberg to get the first responders to be properly honored. As Burke eventually does argue that first responders should be included in the memorial, he makes sure to point out that denying them the privilege of coming to the memorial would deny the first responders their due and proper honor .This would not be as impactful if Burke would not have started his piece by emphasizing the horrors that the first responders voluntarily walked into. By organizing the piece the way Burke did, it allowed him to shape the reader s viewpoint of first responders before he even began arguing his point that first responders must be honored at Ground Zero on the ten year anniversary of 9/11. Another powerful technique that Burke uses to persuade his audience is he uses quotes. Burke uses quotes from people who were at the scene of 9/11 themselves. Burke quotes a woman who was descending from the 89th floor who said When I saw the firemen I knew we would be all right. By using quotes like this, Burke shows the emotional reinsurance that the first responders gave to the people involved in the attack. By showing the emotional response to the first responders, it makes the reader clearly see the importance of the presence of first responders on the scene and the impact they had on the victims. The first responders altered the emotional atmosphere of the scene.
