Essay on Cuban History and Government
On January 1, 1959, Fidel Castro and his band of rebels overtook the Cuban government. Their
Revolution was based on massive agrarian reform and equality throughout. It was not based on
Communism or communistic ideals. The US government was against the rise of Castro and his
people. They had been able to control the Cuban governmentby controlling the successive
presidents, since the Spanish American War early in the 20th Century. The rise of Castro
was
undertaken with a distinct anti American flavor to it. Castro was able to expand his popularity by
fusing the anti American fever with massive reforms intended to give social and economic equality
to all Cubans. The economic presence, of the US, within Cuba was great at the time of Castro s...

In speeches made in July 1960, Khrushchev applauded the Cuban Revolution by saying it was the
best weapon against imperialism, and Eisenhower made note that the United States would not
permit a regime controlled by international communism to established in the Western Hemisphere.
[4] Later that month, Khrushchev sent note to Castro that if an armed invasion occurred, they
could rely on the full support of the Soviet defenses in the Cuban cause. [5] This marked the first
time the Soviet government went out on a limb and said they would defend Cuba militarily
speaking. Yet Cuba was not a socialist state in 1960.
During the fall of 1960...after completing the economic stage...of nationalizing US firms...the
Cuban government threw itself into the nationalization of private Cuban corporations...Moscow
opinion held that the Cuban Revolution was getting dangerously ahead of schedule...It should be
pointed out that even though no one, either in Havana or in Moscow, breathed a word of it in the
fall of 1960, the transition to socialism was already under way in Cuba. [6]
Cuba s move toward Communism
In a speech made on April 16, 1961, Castro proclaimed the socialistic nature of the Cuban
Revolution, and according to Raul Castro, this meant that the revolution had completed the national
liberation stage and had definitively embarked upon the construction of socialism. [7] In a speech
made on December 1, 1961, Castro

The Negative Consequences Of Medical Technology
Over the course of many centuries, medical technology has developed to a great extent. Studies
show that recent equipment has evolved more in the last ten to twenty years than in the past
thousand years. Before human time, people learned to treat themselves by just using natural
substances. Now a days, our hi tech systems in the medical field have been created for the most
effective tools for a high level of patient care. While they advance the tools, it will then allow for
quicker diagnosis, less pain, and fewer costs, which in the end will help save more lives. Some
people are accepting that modern technologycan buy them more time to live while others might
find it quite alarming because they fear they have a loss of control. In places like hospitals, nursing
homes, and households, patients and doctors are using this technology all the time. Unfortunately,
not always is the equipment going to be successful to patient care; there could be a few cases
where something could go wrong.
In Edward Tenner s excerpt Another Look Back, and a Look Ahead he explains what he refers to as
revenge effects . These are the unintentional negative consequences that sometimes occur when
introducing new technology into practice. They are not thought about before an event occurs but
only after these revenge effects can it overshadow the benefits that the advancements may have had.
Complex devises that work together with our human system always generate revenge effects. In the
excerpt, he

A Woman s Prison By Henrik Ibsen Essay
A Woman s Prison
Ibsen s pla y, A Doll s House immediately encountered a spectrum of reactions ranging from strong
support to harsh criticism following its premier in 1879. Controversy came about over Nora s role
as an independent woman who makes her own decisions. The public s immediate response to Ibsen
s play reflects the shift occurring within society, centered on gender roles and women s place in the
mid to late 19th century. Ibsen s portrayal of women through Nora s role explores the ideas of
equality within marriage as well as women s individualism and their role within society.
Nora s character acts as a catalyst for Ibsen to portray women s standing as compared to their
male counterparts in different areas of society the home, marriage, workplace and in public
business. Through Ibsen s characterization of Nora, he explores these major themes of
controversy and pivotal change during the 1920 s. While Ibsen carefully refrains from
interjecting his own opinion, he successfully provides an accurate depiction of the power divide
in the household during the mid to late 19th century through his portrayal of Nora. Today s
marriages, known as a partnership between equals was once not regarded as equal at all. During
the 1920 s women held a rank below their husbands. Essentially, women were a pawn, leaving the
ownership of their father to be handed off to their husband. Nora explains the situation best stating:
I was simply transferred from Papa s hands to yours. You

Tolstoy Double Standard
A double standard is a rule or principle that is applied to different groups or people in unfair
ways, being widely used as discriminatory, and to put down others in order to gain personal
benefits. In the novels of Flaubert and Tolstoy the double standard is mainly applied to separate
women from men, but also to separate social groups, in ranks and beliefs. In Tolstoy s novel, the
women especially upper class, had to speak French and English on alternate days , as said by
Levin (1.6.21), to whom it also seemed that the femaleside ... had no defects in them, ... possible
perfection. (1.6.21). During the time this novel was being written the feminist movement had
started to gain some popularity among women, who wanted to have equal opportunities... Show

Another depiction of the double standard happens when it is said that The Russian custom of
matchmaking was something ... outrageous (1.12.44), perhaps because in this new Russia, after
the emancipation, children s fate was no longer decided by their parents, nor the girls were
given complete freedom, therefore it can be said that matchmaking was open to interpretation,
in which the person who is going to marry, in the case of the men was an open decision, while
for women it was based on expectation and . In addition, when marriage comes a girl ... is
expected to choose, but she can t choose and only answers yes or no. (3.10.270), which explains
that when it comes to choose a partner for marriage, the expectations were higher for women than
for men, perhaps because with the right partner a women will not have to suffer too much during
and after pregnancy, and will have a support that will help her when she faints or is not feeling

U.s. A Vs. Scandinavian Nations

The U.S.A vs Scandinavian Nations
The United States has been widely accepted as a country where anyone can come and make him
or herself into something out of nothing. It is the self proclaimed land of the free and home of
the brave . While all these glorious statements about America were once true, sadly now they are
false. Every year our International upward mobility ranking regresses, meaning it is becoming
harder and harder for Americans to move up the financial ladder. But how is it that a country that
has the largest GDP can be outside the top 10 in upward mobility? Why is it that the most
powerful and wealthy country in the world doesn t have free/universal healthcare? How is it that
while other nations have begun promoting free college tuition we have refused to do so? This is
because the United States does not have a welfare state like the Scandinavian countries do. The
United States isn t a welfare state because Americans have an irrational fear of becoming socialist
. Ever since the Cold War Americans have had a baseless fear of anything that resembles
socialism, claiming it is anti American. Some of the people who live in constant terror of a
socialist America are our right winged conservatives who have went out of their way to make sure
there is minimal government intervention in all aspects of our lives. This should be a good thing,
right? The fact that the government doesn t intervene in the affairs of its individual

Samba Carnival Analysis
Review 24 Samba Carnival
About Samba Carnival
It doesn t get much more exciting and sultry than the Samba Carnival outside of taking all that
excitement and sexiness and turning it into a slot game packed with prizes and bonus games. This
is just what Play N Go did when they put together a game that offers players 5 reels and 15
paylines to enjoy while listening to samba music and enjoying the carnival atmosphere and the
brightly coloured fireworks lighting up the night sky. The carnival is filled with the beauties of
South America wearing their skimpiest Mardi Gras outfits, with Wild Maracas that multiply all
throughout the night and some bonus bongos that offer up to 150x your bet.
There are plenty of slot games out that promise to put punters in the party mood, but very few
seldom deliver on the promise. Showing that Play N Go is in the spirit of the summer season, they
are letting the reels rock in Samba Carnival, but does this game have enough within its ranks to
have your partying in the street? Read on to find out!

As suggested by the biggest proponents of the Balance Scorecard, Robert S. Kaplan and David P.
Norton, What you measure is what you get. Senior executives understand that their organization s
measurement system strongly affects the behavior of managers and employees. Hence, after a year
long research with many companies, they devised the Balance Scorecard (BSC) measure which
revolutionized the traditional thinking about performance measures. By looking beyond the
traditional financial performance measures, the managers were able to better understand the
strategy, positioning and performance of their company. The underlying reason behind getting this
comprehensive view of the business was BSC approach focused on predicting future... Show more

Ancient Egypt And Ancient Egyptian Culture
The Egyptian culture has long been considered quite optimistic. It should be argued that of all
ancient civilisations and cultures, the ancient Egyptian culture, is by far the most optimistic; in
terms of everyday outlook on life, religion and death. The ancient Egyptian culture when compared
to its nearby neighbours in the Levant and Mesopotamia is indeed optimistic. An examination of
the environment of ancient Egyptaffected daily life as this would in turn influence the culture, and
whether or not this played a role in making ancient Egyptian life and culture more optimistic. It is
also essential that the ancient Egyptian myths and religion be explored to determine whether or not
it contained the same optimistic outlook as the culture... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their civilisation was situated adjacent to the Nile River. Evidently, this allowed for the ancient
Egyptians to transition into an agricultural lifestyle with relative ease, as stated by Marc Van De
Mieroop wherever its waters reaches the soil can be farmed; where it does not reach the earth is
parched and it is impossible to grow anything on it. This subsequently allowed the ancient
Egyptians to begin farming with relative ease as the Nile River stretched some 6500 kilometres,
which is more than enough farming area for a civilisation with a relatively small population.
The ancient Egyptians were further blessed by the fact that the Nile River, would flood on a
yearly basis bringing in rich silt that ultimately acted as fertilisers for the crops, and thus
allowing for less labour and higher yield. The Nile River itself has no doubt contributed to the
general optimism of Egyptian culture which is evident in the Hymn to the Nile whereby it states
May your countenance shine on us, Hapy, god of the moving River, who comes forth from the
earth returning to save the Black Land. His features are hidden, dark in the daylight, yet faithful
find him fit subject for song. He waters the landscape the Sun god has formed, giving life to every
small creature. The words used in the Hymn to describe and thank the god Hapy show that ancient
Egyptians are indeed grateful towards the environment as the Nile River is integrated into ancient

Maurice Wilkins Examples
Francis Crick, Rosalind Franklin, James Watson, and Maurice Wilkins were all examples of
scientists that came together to help form the detailed understanding of the structure of DNA that
human civilization has today. The question that was solved by their work was, how do living
organisms pass on traits to their offspring? The discovery was like a puzzle that was put together
over time. Different scientists over the ages added a piece here and there. An example is Gregor
Mendel. He worked with plants and observed the traits that were passed down from the parents to
the offspring. By the 1950s, biologists found that chromosomes contain proteins along with DNA.
This made scientists wonder how DNA could hold all the information needed to create

Citizen Kane Cinematography Analysis
The film Citizen Kane uses stylistic cinematography techniques that help stress both material
presence and textual representation. One of the main techniques used throughout the film is deep
focus which usually makes everything that s in the frame of the shot relevant. This deep focus
contributes toward the viewing of the filmas presence and also representation. For example, one
could think of the broad and self conscious use of deep focus...as an attempt to present images that
are purely and fully presence, presenting themselves to the view in their fullness without any added
meaning or interpretation. (commentary) or the deep focus can be looked at as an interpretative
point of view. Basically, deep center makes everything without exception in the... Show more

Initially, there is a shot far from Kane where he is by himself in a field filled with snow, the
camera gradually pulls back inside the window of a lodge where Kanes guardians and a man
named Mr. Thatcher are having a heated discussion. Mr. Thatcher is about to take Kane away. The
camera rests at a position about eye level with Thatcher and Kane s mom, who are sitting near one
another at a table in the frontal area on the right hand side of the shot. Amidst the shot is Kane,
who is out of sight but still visible in the background through the window, and on the left hand side
is the father, who is standing, trying to declare his power but is unsuccessful at each endeavor. The
situating of the characters is intentional, Charles is in the center in light of the fact that he s the
focal point of the dialog. The cinematography in this film seems to be taking a look through a
window into the life of Charles Kane but never picking up a genuine comprehension of the main
chararcter, yet rather a variety of viewpoints. These techniques stress textual representation in the
film. The mother and Mr. Thatcher are situated together at the same tallness on the grounds that
they are of the same outlook as far as

St Augustine Confessions Analysis
In his Confessions, St. Augustine presented his life from his adolescence through his adulthood and
conversion to Christianity. One of the most prominent themes throughout his narrative was the
reaction of weeping in a situation of separation. Whether it was Monica grieving when her son left
for Rome or Augustine lamenting the distance between himself and God, these scenes of weeping
proved incredibly crucial to the presentation of his life story, acting as frames for specific points
in his life. Through his placement and description of four specific scenes of weeping, Augustine
created a pattern of mirrored events that marked the distinction between his life prior to and after
his conversion. One of the first pressing occasions of a separation was the instance of Monica
weeping when she discovered that Augustine had left Christianity behind to be a Manichee. He
described that she wept for [him] before [God] more than mothers weep when lamenting their dead
children, as she was overwhelmed with sorrow that her son was separating himself from God (Conf.
3.19). Even though Augustine himself could not see that he was straying from salvation, Monica
perceived the death which held [him] and turned to God for guidance (Conf. 3.19). Through her
prayers, she was granted a dream from God in which a man asked her why she was downcast and
daily in flood of tears(Conf. 3.19). She replied that she mourned Augustine s separation from God,
to which the man told her to have no

How I Learned Throughout The Semester And Why It Helped Me...
My journey through this semester was very knowledgeable and interesting experience. From
learning about musical techniques and applying it to my songwriting process, it helped me become
a better songwriter. Throughout this reflection, I want to discuss the things I learned throughout the
semester and why it helped my as a songwriter.
Before taking this course, I used to just sing my songs, but never used to write them down.
Throughout, the course I learned that it s important to work on your songs even if it s working
on part of it. Taking time to improve you songs is already a step forward. Starting from lesson
two, I learned the importance of having a strong premise. I found this very useful because then
you have an idea of what your song is going to be about. You start thinking of emotion and
storyline you want to write in the lyrics. For example, if you premise is about heartbreak, then the
lyrics will be about a relationship, with maybe a sad piano accompaniment. Another interesting
thing I learned about lesson two was the articles we read about techniques for finding ways to be
inspired when writing a song. The article that was very useful was Finding Inspiration. From this
article, a technique that I found useful was to write music about yourself or experiences. I found
this to be a common thing for songwriters, according to the book we read In their Own Words,
which was very interesting to read, I found that most of the famous songwriters, for example Dolly

Does Energy Have To Do With Acid Rain Essay
November 1st 2015
To the federal government:
The purpose behind this letter to you is to inform you with the big issue that is taking place in our
planet, which is the effect of acid rain on lakes and streams (aquatic systems).
Acid rain occurs because of the dissolution of acidic oxides in the atmosphere. When these two
compounds are released into the air, they form acid rain, which are nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide
S + O2 SO2, which is produced by natural means, like volcanoes and industrial processes such as
the burning of fossil fuels (brown coal) C + O2 CO2. The two compounds dissolve in water and are
carried very far by wind where they become part of snow and fog. Oxides from sulfur and nitrogen
react with moisture in the clouds ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though acid rain is a big issue, there are ways it can be prevented. One of the biggest ways acid
rain can be stopped is by lowering your energy consumption. Now you might think, what does
energy have to do with acid rain ? It actually has a big affect. By switching off the lights when
you leave a room, turning off your computers televisions when they aren t being used. Closing the
air conditioner/heaters when you leave your home can make a big difference, because when less
electricity is used, the pollution from power plants decreases. Power plants also known as power
station is an electric generating station
Another way acid rain can be prevented is by using fewer cars! There are so many different ways
of transportation. You can use bikes if you aren t going a long distance, you can use a train, if you
live near a friends house you can car pool, and this all decreases reliance on fossil fuels. Cars also
emit carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming which is affecting the environment. As
the temperature rises, more rain falls, which increases the risk of heavier flooding. Ice is melting,
and that is dangerous for future sea level rise. Also many countries already have very low water,
and when the climate changes it changes precipitation patterns, and increasing droughts, which is
dangerous because people are running out of water. But a positive impact is that electric cars are
better for the environment because they only use battery power, meaning there is no burning of
gasoline or other fossil

Beowulf Is A Hero
Have you ever thought about what a hero means to you? To me, a hero is someone who is
courageous and who is admired for the brave accomplishments one has done. Beowulf is the
perfect example of a hero. He was brave, selfless, and humble. My grandfather is also a good
example of a hero, because he too, is selfless and humble. Beowulf is one of the bravest heroes that
I ve heard of. He is also a herothat is courageous. There was once a time when he made the
decision to go to battle, however he left many men behind. He chose to go fight alone when he
had the option to have his men help him defeat Grendel. Beowulf is not only courageous, but he
is a brave soul. He shows us how brave he is by striving to do whatever he can to keep his people
safe. He would do, without a doubt, anything to protect his people, and that is one of his biggest
qualities. Being brave and courageous aren t Beowulf s only qualities. He is selfless. When
Hrothgar dies, he leaves all his good to Beowulf. When he has these goods in his possession, he
holds on to them until he dies. When Beowulf eventually passes, he shows his selflessness by
giving all the money and treasure to his people. He did this because he wanted to die knowing
he helped his people. Beowulf is a humble man. He shows us how humble he is when he goes to
fight Grendel. When Beowulf decides to go to battle with Grendel, he chooses to fight him alone.
He wants to fight him man to man, with an even battle. He fights Grendel with nothing but
himself. He doesn t have his armor, a sword, or even anything at all to fight against him with.
Beowulf was the type of man that was okay with dying knowing he would still be famous. He
chose to put his life into the hands of Godso if the God s thought it was his time to pass, that was
his time, and he was okay with that. Beowulf isn t the only hero out there. Some people have
their own heroes they look up to. For myself, my hero is my Grandfather. His name is Kent
Lewis, however I call him Pawpaw. He is a well known man for both good and bad. Today he is
known for the great man he has become throughout the years. He is a man that strives to be a better
man than he was yesterday. My grandfather, like Beowulf, is selfless.

Indian Names And Mascots Essay
There has been an ongoing argument since the 1960 s on whether Indian names and mascots

U.s. Army National Guard
Given constrained funding and the requirements of short term national military objectives and
longer term operations, the Army should balance the Total Force as follows: first, decrease the
Active Component deployments and increase the Reserve Component, specifically the National
Guard. Second, assign National Guard units to specific regions and/or missions so that their
training can be focused on these conflicts. And third, increase the use of National Guard units to
reduce active component use particularly for low intensity conflict and short term missions.
Background:
Throughout the course of the United States, the Army National Guard (and to some extent, the
United States Army Reserve) has been a bedrock of support to both the President, Congress, and the
Governors of the fifty four states and territories. During times of national emergency, civil
upheaval, natural disasters, and most recently, during times of war, the National Guard has been
counted on to fill capability gaps that exist in the Active Components ranks. In addition, the
National Guard had the additional mission of being at the call of the Governors should they choose
to utilize that resource, a claim the Active Component cannot make (strictly by law). As such, the
National Guard should continue to be utilized as both a resource for governors to use during times
of crisis and, perhaps more importantly, should continue to be used, funded, and trained as an
operational reserve as well. During this

The attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on 11 September 2001 not only caused
death and destruction but also was a major psychic event in the life of the nation ( 9/11 and its
Aftermath. ). In the book, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, the
main character, Oskar, is a very intelligent nine year old boy. He loses his father, Thomas Schell,
during the attacks on September 11, 2001. Oskar s father was in one of the Twin Towers for a
meeting when it came crashing down. After his father s death, Oskar s life changes drastically and
he wears heavy boots (Foer 326). In the novel, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Jonathan
Safran Foers use of symbolism, mood, tone, and a visual writing style emphasizes how losing a
loved one, so abruptly, can cause a person to question their existence, change their perspective on
life, and learn how to cope with loss.
After the death of his father, Oskar is traumatized and develops fears of almost everything. On

The Effect Of Digital Analog Audio Signal Processing
Abstract
As technology advances, the research of digital signal processing is undergoing rapid development.
At present, it has been used in many fields such as communications industry, voice and acoustics
applications, radar and image. The processing of the speech signal is one of the key areas of DSP
application. So far, it has formed a number of research directions, such as speech analysis, speech
enhancement, speech recognition, voice communication, etc..
With the development of IT technology and voice processing technology, people have more and
more high quality requirements of audio. However, the traditional analog audio signal processing
has been impossible to meet people s needs, at this time, digital signal processing began to ... Show

In this case, this paper designs and implements an audio signal acquisition and processing system
which based on DSP technology.
In the processing of the audio signal, it needs to go to the digital filter. Digital filter is a
numerical system which used to filter the time discrete signal. According to the time domain
characteristics of unit impulse response function, it can be divided into two kinds of filter,
infinite impulse response (IIR) filter and finite impulse response (FIR) filter. Compared with the
IIR filter, the FIR filter has just one zero point, and has no pole in the z plane except the origin,
so it is always stable and can be easily realized. Even more important, the strict linear phase
property can be obtained by the FIR filter, which is difficult to achieve by the IIR filter, so it is
widely used in the field of high fidelity signal processing, such as digital audio, image processing,
data transmission, biomedical and other fields.
This project is about using DSP technology and digital filter to build a music instrument which can
do sound signal acquisition and processing. At last, the suggestion and prospect of how to improve
the system will be put forward.
Key word: DSP, Audio signal processing, FIR filter

Beat The Meat Essay
Meat, everyone loves meat. Well, except for vegetarians. I for one am a meat lover; if you asked
me to choose between a healthy salad and an oily heart attack burger, I would go for the burger. I
eat fast food once in a while, and I do like the burgers. At times, I would wonder where the meat
comes from since it tastes different from burgers that come from actual restaurants. Many people
other than me eat fast food daily and have become a habit for them. In addition, due to the rise in
costumers, fast food industries opened many more restaurants, which led to a higher demand of
meat. Due to this high demand for meat, meat industries are starting to use various ways to produce
meat quickly. However, speeding up the processes can cause meat... Show more content on

This can cause cows to be infected with diseases from the dead animals they ve eaten. Since we re
the ones that are going to be eating the meat from the cow, we re practically eating all the dead

Workers in the Slaughterhouses contribute to the contamination of the meat because of human
error. Contamination can happen at any time when the cow is going through the process of being
taken apart. First, the cows that go into the slaughterhouse are covered in feces in the feedlots. The
workers have to remove the hides carefully to make sure that none of the feces touch the meat.
When the Gutters in the slaughterhouses eviscerate the digestive system from a cow, pieces of dirt

The Business Case For The Public Cloud
Enterprises around the world would be wise to heed 50 Cent s mantra Get Rich or Die Tryin when
considering the implications of not getting to the public cloud. We at Cocolevio, an implementation
partner of Mooor Insights Strategy, estimate that over 50% of IT spend will be going to public
cloud vendors such as Amazon Web Servicesor SaaS vendors like Salesforce.com Inc. by 2019.
This means there is around a $140B opportunity in this space. The cost savings, reduction in
capital spending, speed to market, flexibility and global access derived from public cloud mean
those enterprises that effectively use the public cloud are better positioned to Get Rich than their
competitors who have higher cost structures and less nimble IT platforms. This trend is only set to
continue as the business case for moving to public cloud only becomes more compelling, with the
traditional arguments against public cloud around security and lack of control diminishing.
Vendor lock in will continue to be a concern but we see many companies willing to sacrifice a bit
of lock in for the many, many benefits of public cloud.
With this in mind, it is prudent for any CIO to have a migration strategy to the public cloud. It is
now generally accepted that at least some workload and functions of an organization will need to be
moved in order to be competitive. Recently, the poster child for Amazon Inc., Netflix Inc.

Citizen Soldiers Chapter 14 Analysis
CH 14 On chapter 14 Ambrose talks about many things that had happened in his life. The first
topic of chapter 14 was his writing skills. He tries to answer the question that many people ask
him how do you write so good. He answers with it s just a lot of hard work. Then he is
sometimes asked what is his best book that he has written, and Ambrose responds with it is
usually his last published book that is the best. Then Ambrose talks about Moria and how she has
helped him with his writing, also how he sometimes gets things directly from her to help him
with his writing. That is when he does the transition to talking about some of the books that he
has written. That leads to the travels that he had and that lead to the publishing of the book
Undaunted Courage. Ambrose then talk about the trips that he had with his family following the
Lewis and Clark trail. After that he talks about what happens in 3 of his books. The book Citizen
Soldiers is about Soldiers in Europe during the second world war. The book was a sequel to D

All-Ceramic Restorations in Dental Work
Superior aesthetics and biocompatibility of dental ceramics has driven the increasing use of all
ceramic restorations over the past decade (1). However, the brittleness and low fracture strength of
ceramics can initiate crack propagation causing fracture of the restoration. Clinical studies have
demonstrated that all ceramicdental restorations have an increased resistance to fracturein service
when adhesively cemented to the prepared tooth structure with resin based composite cements (2).
It is thought that the cement interacts and penetrates ceramic surface defects, preventing crack
propagation. However, strengthening is dependent on sufficient resin cement polymerisation via
free radical photo polymerisation in response to blue light (450 500nm). Adequate polymerisation
(DC) depends on appropriate light transmission (LT) to the resin cement, which is affected by the
opacity and the thickness of the ceramic and the resin cement layer. Consequently, this will
influence the mechanical properties of the resin cement together with the strength and longevity of
the restoration (3, 4, 5). The aim of this current study is to analyse LT through ceramics of different
shade and thicknesses; measure and map DC; and correlate the results to the degree of
reinforcement achieved.

Despite the recent downturn in revenue, the Coffee and Snack Shops industry is mature. For
these reasons, industry research firm IBIS World has updated a report on the Coffee Snack
Shops industry in its growing industry report collection. According to IBIS World Industry
Report, in the five years to 2014, industry revenue is expected to increase an annualized 2.7% to
$30.2 billion. This trend is expected to continue into 2014, with an expected growth of 1.4%.
Major operators like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts are expected to expand their menus in the five
years to 2019 in order to increase sales and access higher profit margins. Both Starbucks and
Dunkin Donuts plan on rolling out hundreds of new stores over the next five years, making up for
lost ground they experienced during the recession. Dunkin , which is highly concentrated in the
east, is aiming to expand westward to steal market share from local competitors. The major chains
are also expected to invest more in international growth as part of a long term strategy, because
many larger players view emerging economies as markets with huge potential for growth and long
term profitability. (Lauren Robi, An Analysis of Starbucks as a Company and an International

Communication And Self-Efficacy
In his research Atilgan Erozkan examined how communication skills and interpersonal problem
solving skills effect adolescent s social self efficacy, the belief in one s own abilities. Before the
study begins, Erozkan defines how communication, interpersonal relationships, and self efficacy
relate. Communicationis a crucial element in forming long lasting interpersonal relationships, which
is an important aspect in adolescents developing positive self efficacy (Erozkan, 2013). Adolescents
begin to acquire life long interpersonal relationships in high school. The quality of these
relationships is highly dependent on the quality of communication that occurs between individuals
(Erozkan, 2013). The relationships that adolescents create have a direct impact on their self
efficacy when creating new interpersonal relationships and communicating (Erozkan, 2013). Before
Erozkan discusses interpersonal problem solving, the topic of interpersonal competency is outlined.
This is because interpersonal competency, the development of communication skills, relies
significantly on being able to effectively engage and understand interactions (Erozkan, 2013). If
competent communication skills are not further developed than messages being sent during
communication can become misunderstood (Erozkan, 2013). Since interpersonal relationships
allow people to influence each other any problems that arise can have a profound impact on an
individual (Erozkan, 2013). Therefore, Erozkan

Locke wrote the Second Treatise of Civil Government in 1690. It was written as a defense of the

As Locke references the laws of nature, he continues to say that they are something that men are
bound to by birth. Locke says that the laws of nature state that man is in a state also of equality,
meaning that all men are created equal in nature. Locke differentiates between the two by saying
that the laws of man are something that a man agrees to once he enters society while the laws of

The fundamental question is, How is a method of associating to be found which will defend and

question may be: How does a system that relies on dependence allow for individuals to preserve

The Symbolism of A Clean, Well Lighted Place
The cafГ© is the place to be the older waiter believes is a place in which he needs to get away

symbol for the melancholy of emptiness and the light is the way to escape that. I am one of those

short story, A Clean, Well Lighted Place , Ernest Hemmingway shows that there is nothing more to

darkness and light. The story of A Clean, Well Lighted Place bases on a conversation of the two

United States Postal Service Essay
Mail has been around since the beginning of the United States and was once the number one way
to communicate with others far away. Now in modern days, the United States Postal
Service(USPS) is outdated and considered inferior to other communication tools like email or text

The USPS needs to give itself a makeover to make it compatible with the needs and wants of
today s world. Just like how there is nothing as gratifying as holding a physical newspaper

The Evolution of Animals Essay
The Evolution of Animals
Eukaryotes come in two grades of organization: single celled (protists) and multicellular (plants,
animals, and fungi). The world today is full of complex multicellular plants and animals: how, why,
and when did they evolve from protists?
Proterozoic Protists
A single celled eukaryote or protist can carry chlorophyll (it can be an autotrophic, photosynthetic,
alga ), it can eat other organisms (it can be an organotrophic, protozoan animal ), or it may do both.
Beginning about 1850 Ma, we find acritarchs, spherical microfossils with thick and complex
organic walls. They are probably dinoflagellates that spent most of their life floating in the plankton.

Metazoans are not just multicellular, they have different kinds of cells that perform different
functions.
Metazoans are most likely a clade, that is, they all descended from one kind of protist. All
metazoans originally had one cilium or flagellum per cell, for example. Metazoans also share the
same kind of early development. They form into infolded balls of internal cells which are often
free to move, and are covered by outer sheets of cells that form an external coating for the animal:
a skin, if you like.
The first metazoans were soft bodied, and we have no fossil record of them. But we can look at
the tremendous variety of living animals and at the geologic record to try to reason out what the
first metazoans might have looked like and what they might have done.
There are only three basic kinds of metazoans: sponges, cnidarians, and worms. One can imagine
scenarios for the divergence of the three great metazoan groups. All of them solved the problem of
developing to larger size and complexity, but in different ways.
Sponges evolved by extending the choanoflagellate way of life to large size and sophisticated
packaging. They continued to pump water (and the oxygen and bacteria they take from it) through
their tissues, in internal filtering modules.
Cnidarians (or coelenterates), including sea anemones, jellyfish, and corals, are built mostly of
sheets of cells, and they exploit the large surface area of the

The World of Technical and Professional Writing Essay
The World of Technical and Professional Writing
As technical writing grows into a more common discipline, complicated questions concerning
ethical standards seem to present themselves more frequently. Much of what is written by a
technical writer will need to appeal to individuals of varying situational backgrounds, and in this
day of intense political correctness and moral responsibility, it is important to remember the ethical
and other cultural issues associated with writing for diverse groups of people.
Perhaps the foremost ethical question that presents itself to technical writers revolves around the

When beginning one s research for any project, four basic issues should be considered: audience,
purpose, scope and prior knowledge. The writer should determine who his or her audience will be
and for what purposes the audience will use the writer s knowledge. The audience s intended
purposes will determine how broad or narrow to focus the scope of the information. Finally, the
writer s prior knowledge of the given topic will determine how much time should be devoted to
research (Pickett, Laster, and Staples 513 14). Each of these considerations will be discussed at
intervals throughout this text.
Ethical practices involving research methods are especially important to those individuals who
have a career in education and who use their experiences with students as a source for their
professional writings. Ethical issues, of course, are not limited to the field of education, but many
questionable concerns can certainly present themselves in pedagogical situations. For example,
when using a student (or a group of students) as a source of data for research, it is important to
remain aware of his or her vulnerability, dignity and privacy. These three conditions come into
question on a regular basis and are heavily debated by professionals in the field. The disputes are

The authors have six headings in bold Surface Framing, Frames Not Taken, Why It s Not a
Single Issue, Conservatives, Progressives, and Summing Up which allow for the audience to get
key ideas from the text. First, because these headings are in bold, readers know that the ideas are
important and central. This is because bold letters mean that something is important and needs to
be focused on. In fact, many people exclusively read headings before diving into a paper further.
That why if people are only glancing or skimming Lakoff and Ferguson s book, the readers can
obtain many of the authors points. From these headings the audience can infer that the current
surface frames are inadequate because the first heading is surface frames followed by frames not
taken which implies that the surface frames earlier discussed are not sufficient. This allows support

Land Masses Case Study
Arranging the world based upon the organizations land masses are a part of has many strengths.
Firstly, land would not be as divided, compared to the current countries that make up our world. For
example in my map, all the Southeast Asian nations and Australia are grouped together as one
country. This eliminates possible political arguments between the land masses because they all
share one government. Another benefit of having the world organized this way is that it allows for

Lenin s Contribution to Marxism up to 1905 and the Consequences
Karl Marx was a German philosopher who wrote the Communist Manifesto, which encouraged

Marx believed that history was evolving in a series of stages towards a perfect state Communism.
These stages started with Feudalism with the aristocrats controlling politics. Next would come
Capitalism with the bourgeoisie in control of politics. Finally the perfect state would arrive

The idea of the paper was to establish it as the leading underground revolutionary paper that would
push forward the revolutionary movement.
In 1902 he published a pamphlet called What is to be done? This pamphlet contained his radical
ideas towards the nature of a revolutionary party. In this pamphlet, there were three main points that
Lenin made in relation to the role of a revolutionary party.
An organisation of revolutionaries must contain primarily and chiefly people whose occupation is
revolutionary activity… This organisation must necessarily be not very broad, and as secret
as possible.
This idea was stating that he wanted the party to consist of activists. He wanted people to go out
and do something for the party rather than sit around and do nothing to help the cause of the party.
This idea was later to contribute towards the split of the RSDWP.
Lenin also stated;
The one serious organisational principle for workers in our movement must be the strictest secrecy,
strictest choice of members, training of professional revolutionaries.
Lenin wanted the party to be professional and didn t want the country to know that there was a
revolutionary party being constructed that was to revolt against the current government.
The third major point that Lenin made in his pamphlet was;
We must break completely with the tradition of a purely workers or

  • 2. Essay on Cuban History and Government On January 1, 1959, Fidel Castro and his band of rebels overtook the Cuban government. Their Revolution was based on massive agrarian reform and equality throughout. It was not based on Communism or communistic ideals. The US government was against the rise of Castro and his people. They had been able to control the Cuban governmentby controlling the successive presidents, since the Spanish American War early in the 20th Century. The rise of Castro was undertaken with a distinct anti American flavor to it. Castro was able to expand his popularity by fusing the anti American fever with massive reforms intended to give social and economic equality to all Cubans. The economic presence, of the US, within Cuba was great at the time of Castro s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [3] In speeches made in July 1960, Khrushchev applauded the Cuban Revolution by saying it was the best weapon against imperialism, and Eisenhower made note that the United States would not permit a regime controlled by international communism to established in the Western Hemisphere. [4] Later that month, Khrushchev sent note to Castro that if an armed invasion occurred, they could rely on the full support of the Soviet defenses in the Cuban cause. [5] This marked the first time the Soviet government went out on a limb and said they would defend Cuba militarily speaking. Yet Cuba was not a socialist state in 1960. During the fall of 1960...after completing the economic stage...of nationalizing US firms...the Cuban government threw itself into the nationalization of private Cuban corporations...Moscow opinion held that the Cuban Revolution was getting dangerously ahead of schedule...It should be pointed out that even though no one, either in Havana or in Moscow, breathed a word of it in the fall of 1960, the transition to socialism was already under way in Cuba. [6] Cuba s move toward Communism In a speech made on April 16, 1961, Castro proclaimed the socialistic nature of the Cuban Revolution, and according to Raul Castro, this meant that the revolution had completed the national liberation stage and had definitively embarked upon the construction of socialism. • 3. The Negative Consequences Of Medical Technology Over the course of many centuries, medical technology has developed to a great extent. Studies show that recent equipment has evolved more in the last ten to twenty years than in the past thousand years. Before human time, people learned to treat themselves by just using natural substances. Now a days, our hi tech systems in the medical field have been created for the most effective tools for a high level of patient care. While they advance the tools, it will then allow for quicker diagnosis, less pain, and fewer costs, which in the end will help save more lives. Some people are accepting that modern technologycan buy them more time to live while others might find it quite alarming because they fear they have a loss of control. In places like hospitals, nursing homes, and households, patients and doctors are using this technology all the time. Unfortunately, not always is the equipment going to be successful to patient care; there could be a few cases where something could go wrong. In Edward Tenner s excerpt Another Look Back, and a Look Ahead he explains what he refers to as revenge effects . These are the unintentional negative consequences that sometimes occur when introducing new technology into practice. They are not thought about before an event occurs but only after these revenge effects can it overshadow the benefits that the advancements may have had. Complex devises that work together with our human system always generate revenge effects. In the excerpt, he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Woman s Prison By Henrik Ibsen Essay A Woman s Prison Ibsen s pla y, A Doll s House immediately encountered a spectrum of reactions ranging from strong support to harsh criticism following its premier in 1879. Controversy came about over Nora s role as an independent woman who makes her own decisions. The public s immediate response to Ibsen s play reflects the shift occurring within society, centered on gender roles and women s place in the mid to late 19th century. Ibsen s portrayal of women through Nora s role explores the ideas of equality within marriage as well as women s individualism and their role within society. Nora s character acts as a catalyst for Ibsen to portray women s standing as compared to their male counterparts in different areas of society the home, marriage, workplace and in public business. Through Ibsen s characterization of Nora, he explores these major themes of controversy and pivotal change during the 1920 s. While Ibsen carefully refrains from interjecting his own opinion, he successfully provides an accurate depiction of the power divide in the household during the mid to late 19th century through his portrayal of Nora. Today s marriages, known as a partnership between equals was once not regarded as equal at all. During the 1920 s women held a rank below their husbands. Essentially, women were a pawn, leaving the ownership of their father to be handed off to their husband. Nora explains the situation best stating: I was simply transferred from Papa s hands to yours. Scandinavian Nations Brandon Colon Political Science 12/2/14 The U.S.A vs Scandinavian Nations The United States has been widely accepted as a country where anyone can come and make him or herself into something out of nothing. It is the self proclaimed land of the free and home of the brave . While all these glorious statements about America were once true, sadly now they are false. Every year our International upward mobility ranking regresses, meaning it is becoming harder and harder for Americans to move up the financial ladder. But how is it that a country that has the largest GDP can be outside the top 10 in upward mobility? Why is it that the most powerful and wealthy country in the world doesn t have free/universal healthcare? How is it that while other nations have begun promoting free college tuition we have refused to do so? This is because the United States does not have a welfare state like the Scandinavian countries do. The United States isn t a welfare state because Americans have an irrational fear of becoming socialist . Ever since the Cold War Americans have had a baseless fear of anything that resembles socialism, claiming it is anti American. Some of the people who live in constant terror of a socialist America are our right winged conservatives who have went out of their way to make sure there is minimal government intervention in all aspects of our lives. It should be argued that of all ancient civilisations and cultures, the ancient Egyptian culture, is by far the most optimistic; in terms of everyday outlook on life, religion and death. The ancient Egyptian culture when compared to its nearby neighbours in the Levant and Mesopotamia is indeed optimistic. An examination of the environment of ancient Egyptaffected daily life as this would in turn influence the culture, and whether or not this played a role in making ancient Egyptian life and culture more optimistic. This subsequently allowed the ancient Egyptians to begin farming with relative ease as the Nile River stretched some 6500 kilometres, which is more than enough farming area for a civilisation with a relatively small population. The ancient Egyptians were further blessed by the fact that the Nile River, would flood on a yearly basis bringing in rich silt that ultimately acted as fertilisers for the crops, and thus allowing for less labour and higher yield. The Nile River itself has no doubt contributed to the general optimism of Egyptian culture which is evident in the Hymn to the Nile whereby it states May your countenance shine on us, Hapy, god of the moving River, who comes forth from the earth returning to save the Black Land. His features are hidden, dark in the daylight, yet faithful find him fit subject for song. He waters the landscape the Sun god has formed, giving life to every small creature. Different scientists over the ages added a piece here and there. An example is Gregor Mendel. He worked with plants and observed the traits that were passed down from the parents to the offspring. • 12. St Augustine Confessions Analysis In his Confessions, St. Augustine presented his life from his adolescence through his adulthood and conversion to Christianity. One of the most prominent themes throughout his narrative was the reaction of weeping in a situation of separation. Whether it was Monica grieving when her son left for Rome or Augustine lamenting the distance between himself and God, these scenes of weeping proved incredibly crucial to the presentation of his life story, acting as frames for specific points in his life. Through his placement and description of four specific scenes of weeping, Augustine created a pattern of mirrored events that marked the distinction between his life prior to and after his conversion. One of the first pressing occasions of a separation was the instance of Monica weeping when she discovered that Augustine had left Christianity behind to be a Manichee. He described that she wept for [him] before [God] more than mothers weep when lamenting their dead children, as she was overwhelmed with sorrow that her son was separating himself from God (Conf. 3.19). Even though Augustine himself could not see that he was straying from salvation, Monica perceived the death which held [him] and turned to God for guidance (Conf. 3.19). Through her prayers, she was granted a dream from God in which a man asked her why she was downcast and daily in flood of tears(Conf. 3.19). Throughout this reflection, I want to discuss the things I learned throughout the semester and why it helped my as a songwriter. Before taking this course, I used to just sing my songs, but never used to write them down. Throughout, the course I learned that it s important to work on your songs even if it s working on part of it. Taking time to improve you songs is already a step forward. Starting from lesson two, I learned the importance of having a strong premise. I found this very useful because then you have an idea of what your song is going to be about. You start thinking of emotion and storyline you want to write in the lyrics. For example, if you premise is about heartbreak, then the lyrics will be about a relationship, with maybe a sad piano accompaniment. Another interesting thing I learned about lesson two was the articles we read about techniques for finding ways to be inspired when writing a song. The article that was very useful was Finding Inspiration. From this article, a technique that I found useful was to write music about yourself or experiences. I found this to be a common thing for songwriters, according to the book we read In their Own Words, which was very interesting to read, I found that most of the famous songwriters, for example Dolly ... • 16. Does Energy Have To Do With Acid Rain Essay November 1st 2015 To the federal government: The purpose behind this letter to you is to inform you with the big issue that is taking place in our planet, which is the effect of acid rain on lakes and streams (aquatic systems). Acid rain occurs because of the dissolution of acidic oxides in the atmosphere. When these two compounds are released into the air, they form acid rain, which are nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide S + O2 SO2, which is produced by natural means, like volcanoes and industrial processes such as the burning of fossil fuels (brown coal) C + O2 CO2. The two compounds dissolve in water and are carried very far by wind where they become part of snow and fog. Oxides from sulfur and nitrogen react with moisture in the clouds ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though acid rain is a big issue, there are ways it can be prevented. One of the biggest ways acid rain can be stopped is by lowering your energy consumption. Now you might think, what does energy have to do with acid rain ? It actually has a big affect. By switching off the lights when you leave a room, turning off your computers televisions when they aren t being used. Closing the air conditioner/heaters when you leave your home can make a big difference, because when less electricity is used, the pollution from power plants decreases. Power plants also known as power station is an electric generating station Another way acid rain can be prevented is by using fewer cars! There are so many different ways of transportation. You can use bikes if you aren t going a long distance, you can use a train, if you live near a friends house you can car pool, and this all decreases reliance on fossil fuels. Cars also emit carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming which is affecting the environment. As the temperature rises, more rain falls, which increases the risk of heavier flooding. Ice is melting, and that is dangerous for future sea level rise. Also many countries already have very low water, and when the climate changes it changes precipitation patterns, and increasing droughts, which is dangerous because people are running out of water. But a positive impact is that electric cars are better for the environment because they only use battery power, meaning there is no burning of gasoline or other fossil ... Beowulf is the perfect example of a hero. He was brave, selfless, and humble. My grandfather is also a good example of a hero, because he too, is selfless and humble. Beowulf is one of the bravest heroes that I ve heard of. He is also a herothat is courageous. There was once a time when he made the decision to go to battle, however he left many men behind. He chose to go fight alone when he had the option to have his men help him defeat Grendel. Beowulf is not only courageous, but he is a brave soul. He shows us how brave he is by striving to do whatever he can to keep his people safe. He would do, without a doubt, anything to protect his people, and that is one of his biggest qualities. Being brave and courageous aren t Beowulf s only qualities. He is selfless. When Hrothgar dies, he leaves all his good to Beowulf. When he has these goods in his possession, he holds on to them until he dies. When Beowulf eventually passes, he shows his selflessness by giving all the money and treasure to his people. He did this because he wanted to die knowing he helped his people. Beowulf is a humble man. He shows us how humble he is when he goes to fight Grendel. When Beowulf decides to go to battle with Grendel, he chooses to fight him alone. He wants to fight him man to man, with an even battle. He fights Grendel with nothing but himself. He doesn t have his armor, a sword, or even anything at all to fight against him with. Beowulf was the type of man that was okay with dying knowing he would still be famous. He chose to put his life into the hands of Godso if the God s thought it was his time to pass, that was his time, and he was okay with that. Beowulf isn t the only hero out there. In the processing of the audio signal, it needs to go to the digital filter. Digital filter is a numerical system which used to filter the time discrete signal. According to the time domain characteristics of unit impulse response function, it can be divided into two kinds of filter, infinite impulse response (IIR) filter and finite impulse response (FIR) filter. Compared with the IIR filter, the FIR filter has just one zero point, and has no pole in the z plane except the origin, so it is always stable and can be easily realized. Even more important, the strict linear phase property can be obtained by the FIR filter, which is difficult to achieve by the IIR filter, so it is widely used in the field of high fidelity signal processing, such as digital audio, image processing, data transmission, biomedical and other fields. At times, I would wonder where the meat comes from since it tastes different from burgers that come from actual restaurants. Many people other than me eat fast food daily and have become a habit for them. In addition, due to the rise in costumers, fast food industries opened many more restaurants, which led to a higher demand of meat. Due to this high demand for meat, meat industries are starting to use various ways to produce meat quickly. However, speeding up the processes can cause meat... Since we re the ones that are going to be eating the meat from the cow, we re practically eating all the dead animal and feces that the cow has eaten. In fact, we could get food poisoning or contract diseases. Workers in the Slaughterhouses contribute to the contamination of the meat because of human error. Contamination can happen at any time when the cow is going through the process of being taken apart. First, the cows that go into the slaughterhouse are covered in feces in the feedlots. The workers have to remove the hides carefully to make sure that none of the feces touch the meat. When the Gutters in the slaughterhouses eviscerate the digestive system from a cow, pieces of dirt and manure could mix in with the meat. If the job isn t carried out carefully and precisely, the digestive system could spill all over the place; on the floor, the table, the conveyor belt and the meat. Schlosser said A former IBP gutter told me that it took him six months to learn how to pull out the stomach and tie off the intestines without spillage. The Business Case For The Public Cloud Enterprises around the world would be wise to heed 50 Cent s mantra Get Rich or Die Tryin when considering the implications of not getting to the public cloud. We at Cocolevio, an implementation partner of Mooor Insights Strategy, estimate that over 50% of IT spend will be going to public cloud vendors such as Amazon Web Servicesor SaaS vendors like Salesforce.com Inc. by 2019. This means there is around a $140B opportunity in this space. The cost savings, reduction in capital spending, speed to market, flexibility and global access derived from public cloud mean those enterprises that effectively use the public cloud are better positioned to Get Rich than their competitors who have higher cost structures and less nimble IT platforms. This trend is only set to continue as the business case for moving to public cloud only becomes more compelling, with the traditional arguments against public cloud around security and lack of control diminishing. Vendor lock in will continue to be a concern but we see many companies willing to sacrifice a bit of lock in for the many, many benefits of public cloud. With this in mind, it is prudent for any CIO to have a migration strategy to the public cloud. • 31. All-Ceramic Restorations in Dental Work Superior aesthetics and biocompatibility of dental ceramics has driven the increasing use of all ceramic restorations over the past decade (1). However, the brittleness and low fracture strength of ceramics can initiate crack propagation causing fracture of the restoration. Clinical studies have demonstrated that all ceramicdental restorations have an increased resistance to fracturein service when adhesively cemented to the prepared tooth structure with resin based composite cements (2). It is thought that the cement interacts and penetrates ceramic surface defects, preventing crack propagation. However, strengthening is dependent on sufficient resin cement polymerisation via free radical photo polymerisation in response to blue light (450 500nm). Adequate polymerisation (DC) depends on appropriate light transmission (LT) to the resin cement, which is affected by the opacity and the thickness of the ceramic and the resin cement layer. Consequently, this will influence the mechanical properties of the resin cement together with the strength and longevity of the restoration (3, 4, 5). The aim of this current study is to analyse LT through ceramics of different shade and thicknesses; measure and map DC; and correlate the results to the degree of reinforcement achieved. Specimen preparation Twenty ceramics discs (4 ceramic shades (A1, A2, A3, A3.5)) were prepared by mixing 0.73g of Base Dentine VM7 powder (Vita, Bad SГ¤ckingen, Germany) powder with 0.29mL of Modelling Liquid ... • 34. Communication And Self-Efficacy In his research Atilgan Erozkan examined how communication skills and interpersonal problem solving skills effect adolescent s social self efficacy, the belief in one s own abilities. Before the study begins, Erozkan defines how communication, interpersonal relationships, and self efficacy relate. Communicationis a crucial element in forming long lasting interpersonal relationships, which is an important aspect in adolescents developing positive self efficacy (Erozkan, 2013). Adolescents begin to acquire life long interpersonal relationships in high school. The quality of these relationships is highly dependent on the quality of communication that occurs between individuals (Erozkan, 2013). The relationships that adolescents create have a direct impact on their self efficacy when creating new interpersonal relationships and communicating (Erozkan, 2013). Before Erozkan discusses interpersonal problem solving, the topic of interpersonal competency is outlined. This is because interpersonal competency, the development of communication skills, relies significantly on being able to effectively engage and understand interactions (Erozkan, 2013). If competent communication skills are not further developed than messages being sent during communication can become misunderstood (Erozkan, 2013). Since interpersonal relationships allow people to influence each other any problems that arise can have a profound impact on an individual (Erozkan, 2013). Therefore, Erozkan ... The people of today fancy the fast and artless rout of communication, but the old fashioned, hand written letter can be resurrected if vital changes are made to the United States Postal Service(source F). Metazoans are most likely a clade, that is, they all descended from one kind of protist. All metazoans originally had one cilium or flagellum per cell, for example. Metazoans also share the same kind of early development. They form into infolded balls of internal cells which are often free to move, and are covered by outer sheets of cells that form an external coating for the animal: a skin, if you like. The first metazoans were soft bodied, and we have no fossil record of them. But we can look at the tremendous variety of living animals and at the geologic record to try to reason out what the first metazoans might have looked like and what they might have done. There are only three basic kinds of metazoans: sponges, cnidarians, and worms. One can imagine scenarios for the divergence of the three great metazoan groups. All of them solved the problem of developing to larger size and complexity, but in different ways. Sponges evolved by extending the choanoflagellate way of life to large size and sophisticated packaging. They continued to pump water (and the oxygen and bacteria they take from it) through their tissues, in internal filtering modules. Finally, the writer s prior knowledge of the given topic will determine how much time should be devoted to research (Pickett, Laster, and Staples 513 14).
