Money, the Federal Reserve System, and Banking Essay
Money, the Federal Reserve System, and Banking
You have used money to measure the price, the size of business, total output in the economy, and
income. Coins and paper money are called currency. People use currency daily. When you go to a
movie, you probably buy a ticket with currency. Coins and paper money work well for small
purchases and when payment is made directly from one person to another. But, for large purchases
or when payments travels to mail, currency is not practical. A check is a written order to pay
money from amounts deposited. Therefore, deposits in checking accounts, credit union share draft
accounts, and other similar accounts are considered money. Remember that the most important

The higher the level of income, the greater the demand for money and buying power, The asset
demand for money is the demand for money in order to hold wealth in the form of money. Some
people will always hold some part of their wealth in the form of money. If we use money to buy an
asset that pays interest, such as a government or corporate bond, we earn more money in the form
of interest payments. The Federal Reserve System is the central banking system in the United
States. The United States was slow to adopt a central banking system. Not until 1913 did
Congress, under pressure from President Wilson, pass the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. Each
Federal Reserve Bank operates as a private business with its own president and board of
directors. The board of directors has nine members, six of whom are elected by member banks.
Member banks are those that belong to the Federal Reserve System. The other directors are
appointed by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Ten of the Federal Reserve
Banks have branches that are closely controlled by the district banks. A Board of Governors

Relationship of Sexual Activities to Academic Performance
CHAPTER I THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction Academic performance is
vital for entrance into good high schools, colleges, graduate schools and most sought high salary
companies. In fact, grades, the formal and most common measure of academic performance,
become significant as early as pre school and remain significant through the process of seeking
employment, as many employers request transcripts along with job applications. Good shipping
companies in the Philippines which provide excellent compensation offer scholarship grants for the
assurance of having highly competitive graduates which they will utilize and then obliging the
scholars to maintain high grades otherwise they will no longer be part of the grant. One s academic

than an even number. Therefore if you have more than one subject in your picture, the suggestion
is to choose an arrangement with at least three subjects to make it symmetrical and visually
appeasing. Centred composition Central composition is often calm and static. It places the one
subject in the very centre of the shot. By composing your subject in the centre, you are basically
placing him in front of the viewer as if attempting to introduce them. It also helps emphasize the
space around your subject as it becomes the very thing that leads the viewer s gaze towards where
you, the creator, intended it to go. Experimentation An experimental photography technique can be

Essay on Tantalum Electrolytic Capacitor
Tantalum Electrolytic Capacitor
Construction
The tantalum power undergoes a process called pressing. This mean that the powder is mixed with
binder to make sure the particles will stick together when pressed to form the anode which will flow
into press tool smoothly. A high pressure condition is applied to the tantalumpowder around a
tantalum wire to form tantalum slug. The binder is removed by heating the slug under vacuum and
high temperature for a few minutes.
Next process is sintering, the tantalum is sintered at high temperature in vacuum and cause every

The graphite layer is functioned to prevent the direct contact of silver layer and manganese oxide.
Properties
The capacitance value of tantalum capacitors have the range between 1nF to 72mF and voltage
rating is from 2V to 500V or higher. The size of tantalum capacitoris smaller than aluminum
capacitor in the same capacitance value. The tantalum capacitor has its anode, electrolyte and
cathode just like other electrolytic capacitor. The anode is made by tantalum metal and not placed
beside cathode so that only small leakage of DC current will occur. The capacitance value is higher
if the internal surface is higher.
Strength
Tantalum electrolytic capacitor has high volumetric efficiency compare to other electrolytic
capacitor. Besides, tantalum capacitor has good frequency characteristic which mean they are more
suitable in using other application where normal electrolytic capacitor could not be done. It also has
high reliability, they say to be unlimited life time as an electrolytic capacitor. It can withstand
extreme temperate in range 55В°C to 125В°C. Furthermore, it has high level of compatibility with
other modern production.
Weakness
Tantalum electrolytic capacitor has low ripple current ratings which shrink the area of using them.
Tantalum capacitor cannot sustain excessive voltage or reversing the voltage, this may cause it to
explode. Lastly, the cost is higher compare to other capacitor.
Application

Black Holes This paper will introduce you to the incredible topic which is black holes. A black
hole is a region of space time exhibiting such strong gravitational effects that nothing can escape
from inside it. (NASA) No human has ever entered a black hole and there is still a large mystery
about them; we have very little idea of where the matter that enters them goes. A black holecannot
be looked into either, as it sucks all the light into the middle of it. Space programs use special

Giving Our Felons A Chance
Giving Our Felons a Chance What if you couldn t find somewhere to live? This is an actual issue
that many Americans face every day. Not because of the lack of money, but because of their
criminal records felons to be specific. Having a criminal record, now in days is not hard, you
can be felon for something small or for something big. However, once a felon you are out of luck
with finding a place to live on your own. I think it is the smallest and most irrelevant things that
our government take into notice. The government will never see and think like a person who
grew up in poverty. If you have a criminal record and can t find a place to live to better yourself
what the next step? It can only go south from here. No one should struggle to find a place to live
and call home. I believe that there are felons out there who will never better themselves nor
would they care to. These felons don t care for a place to live or a place to call home. However,
there are many people who end up with a criminal record for a very small incident, maybe an
incident that was not their fault. There are many felons who can post bail and maybe do one day
in jail. If you can post bail in one day I m sure your crime was not life threatening. Therefore, why
can t this felon find a place to live? The reason is because any apartmentcomplex you apply for will
do a background check and will deny you. They don t care if you are doing better or if you re a

Ovid s Metamorphoses Comparison
Poetry has long been known to communicate emotions, ideas, and stories in many intriguing and
powerful ways. The Metamorphoses, no doubt Ovid s magnum opus, is no exception to this rule.
Written in 8 A.D., Ovid s epic poem tackles important concepts such as divinity, the definition of
gender, and mortal immortal relationships. Additionally, The Metamorphoses adds intricate detail to
the epics of old, and places many mythical histories in an emotional context. The collection of
poems begins with the creation of the world, and chronicles time from that point to the deification
of Julius Caesar. Over the course of his masterpiece, Ovid repeatedly returns to stories that include
three particular Greco Roman themes. Ovid uses unique character transformations... Show more

In one book of the poem, for example, several Thracian women are turned into trees as a form of
punishment, while Baucis and Philemon are changed to trees upon their deaths as a form of
blessing for their generosity towards Jupiter and Mercury. As Ovid describes stories of lust,
insanity, and revenge, he uses metamorphoses to add meaning and beauty, in much the same way a
painter adds color to enliven an image. The poetic aesthetic of a transformation used to lighten a
tragedy, give a hero a more fitting end, provide an escape from lust, or compensate for past
atrocities imbues Ovid s narratives with a beauty that would otherwise be lacking. Consequently,
Ovid s unique implementation of such meaningful changes contributed to his masterpiece s
longevity, which has continuously inspired writers and readers alike over the two millennia since its

An Evidence Vitro For The Influence Of Bisphenol A On Uterine
Synopsis of An evidence in vitro for the influence of bisphenol A on uterine leiomyoma
1.Introduction
Uterine fibroids are the most common noncancerous growths of the uterus also known as
leiomyomas or myomas. They are not usually associated with an increased risk of uterine cancer
and almost never develop into cancer but are considered as a common cause of hysterectomy.
Gynecological researchers consider that the increase in the incidence of this type of tumor is related
to the presence of exogenous estrogens in the environment, classifying these uterine fibroids as
hormonally responsive tumors.
The use of phenolic estrogens in the manufacture of plastic, resins, and several others, created a risk
for the human and environment since the exposure and pollution due to these chemicals has
increased significantly. Among these phenolic estrogens is Bisphenol A (BPA) which is considered
to influence the development of uterine fibroids. However, the role of environment estrogens in the
promotion of the growth of uterine fibroids, and its mechanism of action are not completely
established.
The authors of this paper performed a series of evaluations and observations expecting to identify
the effect and mechanism of BPA on uterine leiomyoma (UL) cells. In this study UL cells were
exposed to different concentrations of BPA to observe the cell, the proteinexpression was
monitored for changes in expression of estrogen receptor alpha (ERО±), insulin like growth factor

William Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying Essay
The past is never dead. It s not even past.
― William Faulkner
In William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying, characterization, specifically through the multitude of
narrators, transforms an otherwise pedestrian plot into a complex pilgrimage to the truth. As I Lay
Dying is told from the perspective of fifteen different characters in 59 chapters (Tuck 35). Nearly
half (7) of the characters from whose perspective the story is narrated are members of the same
family, the Bundrens. The other characters are onlookers of the Bundrens journey to bury their
mother, Addie. Each character responds to the events that are unfolding in a unique way and his or
her reactions help to characterize themselves and others.
...each private world manifests ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I saw... it was between [Addie] and Darl that the understanding and true love was (Faulkner 24).
The reader could either take the words for face value as true, or discard them as utter fiction. The
decision is based upon the credence of the speaker. In this case the speaker is Cora, the overly
religious neighbor. Although not initially apparent, it is later revealed that her view of Addie s
affection towards Darl is completely inaccurate. Cora bases her verbal reaction on Addie s physical
response, but does not take into account Addie s reasoning. This example makes the importance of
credibility, especially based on knowledge of the situation, more pronounced.
Furthermore, the onlookers narration needs to be free of bias for true objectivity. Faulkner lets
the most detached characters of the book give the most objective views of the Bundrens, because
they have no bias towards them. The stronger a character s morals are and the stronger their
predisposition, the more skewed their objectivity. Cora is a good example for distorted objectivity.
As a deeply fervent religious character Cora is biased against Addie s supposedly sinful ways
stating, the eternal and the everlasting salvation and grace is not upon her (Faulkner 8). Cora s
husband, Tull, however, observes the Bundrens with an unbiased mind, simply retelling what he
observes. His interpretation of Anse, the Bundren

Herbert Hoover s Stock Market Crash
The 1929 Stock Market Crash We d like to thank you, Herbert Hoover/ For really showing us the

lyrics from the musical Annie place the blame for the 1929 Stock Market Crash solely on the then
former president Herbert Hoover. The truth of the matter is that placing the blame for the Stock
MarketCrash on Mr. Hoover is very unfair. Herbert Hoover was only one of many causes of the
Stock Market Crash. It is easy to try to place the blame for one of the most destructive events in
the history of the American economy on one person, but the real causes lie in the rampant
speculation, the lack of regulation of the stock market, and the questionable ethics of many of
the companies and brokers that were involved in the market. Although the 1929 Stock Market
Crash is generally blamed on a few scapegoats, it was actually caused by a multitude of factors,
which makes finding a scapegoat impossible. While there may be some arguments among

Theme Of Hercules In The Iliad
The theme of an epic poem or short story is arguably the literary element that has the greatest effect
on conflict in a story.
Theme is what the characters and the audience are supposed to take away after finishing the story.
In Hercules and The Iliad, the overall themes of each story help to almost determine the conflict to
come, and how that conflict will help to shape the character.
Many consider the main theme of The Iliad to be the very first line in the entire epic poem, in
which a muse sings a song about the wrath of Achilles . This opening line of dialogue sets up the
epic in a way that enable a lot of conflict to be set up.
No man alive could keep the dog packs off you, not if they haul in ten, twenty times that ransom
and pile it here before me and promise fortunes more (Beers 64).
In this quote, Achilles is brutally informing Hector that he will not return his body back to his
family once he has died. This reflects back onto the theme of the wrath of Achilles , demonstrates
how one person s wrath can lead to deadly conflicts.
In Hercules, one theme that is commonly found is persevering against all of the struggles that one
may encounter. In this epic poem, Hercules has to complete twelve challenges in order to prove he
is a virtuous man (Hamilton). These twelve challenges easily allows for one conflict after another
to occur throughout the entire story.
By and by, no Geryon was there, but a huge snake, like one of those which Hercules had strangled

Hispanic Immigration And The United States
Hispanic immigration to the United States stems primarily from uniquely developed push pull
migration mechanisms in which interplay of national, regional, and global economic developments,
the history of U.S. military and foreign policy in the Western Hemisphere, the checkered history of
international border enforcement and interdiction efforts, and, not least, the aspirations of Latin
American migrants and potential migrants themselves (Gutierrez). In other words, migration from
Latin American to the United Statesshouldn t have been consistent, however, there are several
factors that triggered massive waves of such.
The first major wave of Hispanic migration to the United States was in 1848, which was a result
from the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The newly acquired lands of the United States hosted a
population of about 75,000 100,000 and the U.S. Government offered blanket naturalization to the
former Mexican Citizens. After the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Mexican immigration to the U.S.
average[d] 3,000 5,000 persons per decade, with the exception of the California Gold Rush, where
around 10,000 Mexican miners migrated to California, all totaling to about 100,000 Mexicans in
the U.S. by the end of the 1900 (Gutierrez). However, historical migration statistics for this period
are inaccurate because of inconsistent enumeration techniques, changing methods of ethnic and
racial classification in the U.S., and the constant movement of uncounted thousands of

The Odyssey, The Ramayana Of Valmiki, And The Bhagavad Gita
War has been treated as an acceptable response to political or personal disagreements. The
Bhagavad Gita shows how a person can have a moral dilemma when faced with the prospect of
fighting against people who are familiar. This story explains how, if there are no other options
available to solve a dispute, then violent conflicts are acceptable responses. The use of armed
conflict to resolve any political or personal disputes has been a theme that is visible in famous
warrior stories. The Odyssey, The Ramayanaof Valmiki, and The Bhagavad Gita all deal with
conflicts of war and how it can affect the lives of those involved. Violence as a solution to
combat any disagreements or problems has been viewed as noble and necessary in many stories.
Armed conflict and violence has an effect on everyone involved and the aftermath can be just as
destructive as the initial fighting. The characters in these stories are defined by their status as a
warrior and hero. A man s ability to be successful in battle has been praised in these stories.
Odysseus and Ramaare both viewed as strong heroes and they have been praised for the violent
actions taken in order to solve the situations in their lives. Arjuna was a warrior who was
expected to fight against loved ones because that was his job as a solider. The nature of war in
these ancient stories showed how accepted and valued violence conflicts were to a hero s status and

Difference Between The Oud And The Oud
The ancestor of the guitar, the oud, has not evolved into the guitar but only inspired its creation and
together became two popular instruments used in various parts of the world. The guitar is mostly
associated with western countries while the oud has been traditionally used in the Spanish and Arab
countries.
Classified as string instruments both the guitar and the oud have a few similarities. To be held and
played in the same way their physical appearance resembles one another in terms of shape, materials
and the use of strings to produce their acoustic sound. The wooden neck on both guitars allows one
to play by plucking the strings attached and transmitting the energy from the strings vibration into
the air producing sound.

continues till today. The earliest proof of the existence of an instrument like the Oud can be found
in an excavated cylindrical seal from the Uruk Period in Mesopotamia, which dates back almost
5000 years.
Since then, the Oud has been revered as the King of Instruments, telling the stories of its time

Relationships and Religion in The Handmaids Tale by...
In the novel The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood the themes of Religion and inter human
relationships are the themes that are most evident in the text. This novel shows the possibility of
the existence of an all powerful governing system. This is portrayed through the lack of freedom
for women in society, from being revoked of their right to own any money or property, to being
stripped of their given names and acquiring names such as Offred and Ofglen, symbolizing women
s dependant existence, only being defined by the men which they belong to. This portrayal of
women demonstrates the idea that individuals are unimportant, that the goals of the society as a
whole are more pertinent. For our purposes, your feet and your hands are not... Show more content

Offred is a part of a society that leaves her deprived of any warm human relationship, and only
conforms to the rules set on her because she wants to survive. Having such a lack of freedom
makes her crave human affection, and she copes with this by trying to escape reality, while at
the same time avoiding the memories of the freedom she once had. Religion is an idea that is
also significant in A Season in the Life of Emmanuel by Marie Claire Blais. This theme is
accompanied by hypocrisy, abuse and the need for escape from reality. This novel tells the
stories of children growing up in a society in which their lives are not valued. The children in this
society are expected to repress the abuse inflicted on them, leaving them to deal with their
demons on their own. This abuse is often present in the church and in the reformatories that they
are sent to, demonstrating the hypocrisy present in this society. Since these children are not
aided in overcoming the obstacles placed in their lives, they search for and begin to find their
own ways of escaping reality. For Jean le Maigre, who is very sick but nonetheless is made to go
to school and work the family s land, the escape is found through the writing of stories and
poems. Jean le Maigre is also a good example of the search for a reality break in the children,
along with Number 7, as they both resort to alcohol to escape from the repression that they felt
from the strict religious lifestyle they followed at

Professional Etiquette For A Successful Healthcare Career
Professional etiquette is one of the most important factors contributing to a successful healthcare
career. A professional is someone who is neat in appearance. Professional looks will vary. In
some cases, a suit and tie is their professional appearance. In other cases, scrubs are professional.
Be sure to meet and/or even try and exceed the requirements of your company s dress code. Also
pay special attention to your appearance when meeting with prospects or clients. Long nails
colored hair piercings are not things that come off as if you were a professionalperson. Healthcare
involves many personal interactions with a variety of people. Etiquette in healthcare is more than
just good manners; it is about establishing respectable relationships with patients, colleagues, and
supervisors.
Employers and regulators have an important role to play in supporting professionalism, and giving
it to wave and develop. The relevance and role of professionalism needs to be presented positively
and proactively. In a medical setting, healthcare professionals must set the tone for the interaction
with patients and visitors. They are constantly in contact with people who will assess them based
on the way they communicate, body language, and appearance. A professional is characterized by
or conforming to the technical or ethical standards of a profession, exhibiting a courteous,
conscientious, and generally businesslike manner in the workplace. Being professional should be a

Early in the game, team members will split up and use certain lanes based off their character
abilities and roles set forth in their common usage and design. For example, someone whose
character heals others or can take a lot of damage defensively might pair up with another player
whose abilities mean they need protection early in the game until they level up and gain more
power and defense. With this level of teamwork in place, ideally players would pay attention in
the character selection screen and pick a character that fills a role currently needed by the rest of
the team. Unfortunately, just as in real life this does not usually happen, since other people might
have their own reasons for playing as a certain avatar. This extends out on to the playing field,
with people wandering the field as they like, leaving their teammates or even entire lanes
defenseless and open for attack. This also makes players more prone to attack from an enemy, and
in this game killing someone on the other team leads to a decent amount of gold and experience for
the other team, making them a stronger opponent, a move known as feeding the enemy. Sometimes
this is all just happening due to a gamers inexperience, and they ll issue a quick sorry in chat before

The Use Of Symbolism In Traveling Through The Dark
Symbolism is used in everything from movies to stories, EVERYTHING. Symbolism is the use
of symbols to represent ideas or qualities. Symbols can be used to describe or mean something
else. For example, empty pockets can be used as a symbol to describe not having any money. It
can be used in many different ways and forms. Symbols are used everyday and time are really
hard to notice what they truly mean. The following poems all use different symbols, but all stand
for deception the poems are Traveling Through the Dark by William Stafford, We Wear the Mask
by Paul Laurence Dunbar, Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson, and The Lotteryby Shirley
Jackson.
To begin with, the poem Traveling Through the Dark the car is symbolized as death. In real life
time a car is used as a form of transportation, but can also bring death to those involved in an
accident. The narrator states, Traveling though the dark I found a deer dead on the edge of the
Wilson river road (lines1 2). He says that he has found a dead deer on by the river that another
car might have hit before. This car that the narrator is in come be a sign of death coming again
to a unborn baby. He says, . . . then pushed her over the edge into the river (line18). After finding
the dead deer he decides to move the deer to prevent another accident, later to find out that an
unborn is still alive. He makes his way towards a cliff pushing off the dead and now dead baby
fawn to dispose of the bodies. Nordstrom comments, the car is certainly described as a death
bringer (Nordstrom). Nordstrom understands that death is disguised by a car and as the car
approaches the deer, its death making its way again. Next the poem named We Wear the Mask
deals with what slaves would relate to during the slavery having to cover up their true feelings.
A mask is used as a symbol as it is used to hide the true feelings of those who are in grief and
sorrow. In the poem it states, We wear the mask that grins and lies . . . (line 1). Right off the bat
the writer agrees to wearing a mask that does not show true emotions. The writer is most likely not
willing to show his or her true feelings, because during the time slaves were not supposed to be
happy and were not

Characterism In Snow White
In many societies, wealthy people are seen as hardworking, deserving, and above everybody
else. However, poor people are portrayed as undeserving, uneducated, and useless. In modern
day America, these characterizations have switched. Gene Simmons once said, Live and think
like a poor man and you ll always be okay . In some cases, poor people are the ones that work
long, boring day, where rich people are drinking imported wine on a yacht. When reading, Snow
White, by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, the authors write from a marxist point of view. They also
use characterization of the evil queen and the dwarfs to describe the socio economic classes of
modern day society. The authors positively characterize the dwarfs, who represent the lower
class. It is known that the lower class is primarily underprivileged. However, this group is seen
as innocent, hardworking, kind, and fair minded. The Grimms use the seven dwarfs to
positively portray the lower class. They don t live in a castle with gold jewels and unlimited
meals. In fact, they live in a house where, everything was small (Grimm, Jacob, and Wilhelm
Grimm). When Snow White, a young girl from the upper class, comes to the house, she is
allowed to stay only if she works around the house. In the piece, the dwarfs say, If you will keep
house for us, and cook, make beds, wash, sew, and knit, and keep everything clean and orderly,
then you can stay with us, and you shall have everything that you want (Grimm, Jacob, and
Wilhelm Grimm). It can be assumed that these are the common chores around the dwarfs house.
In contrast to a king or a queen, there are much more tasks that need to be completed. A king or a
queen has maids, cooks, and butlers. This proves that the dwarfs are very hard working. When
Snow White comes along, the dwarfs give some of these jobs to her. While the dwarfs warmly
welcome Snow White into their house, they cannot let her presence derail them from their daily,
complex lifestyle. Having Snow White move into their house is a big change to them. For some,
drastic changes can take a while to mentally process. For the dwarfs, however, they have to
continue to work hard in order to survive. According to John Sanders, a fairy tale analyst, They [the

The Corrupting Views Of Hamilton And Jefferson
Power can corrupt people, especially the people that hold it. Hamilton and Jefferson, two founding
fathers of the country with very different ideas. The two were friends, but politics got in the way.
Hamilton wanted an industrial and urbanized society while Jefferson wanted a rural and
agricultural one. So the question is, whose views were better?
Some time after the war when America got its independence, everyone decided that Washington
should be president. When Washington took the oath he asked four people to be his Cabinet
members. They were: Alexander Hamilton (Secretary of Treasury), Thomas Jefferson(Secretary of
State), Henry Knox (Secretary of War), and Edmund Randolph (Attorney General).
Washington knew that Hamilton and Jefferson weren t so close, but ... Show more content on

Jefferson obviously didn t like the plan. He left the job because he saw that the Treasury
Department (Hamilton) had more power in forming the government. He also saw that Washington
was taking more of Hamilton s side.
The rivalry continued into personal life. Jefferson started accusing Hamilton of being a traitor and
said that he wanted monarchy back. Washington then said back that Hamilton s plan would work.
Jefferson replied saying Washington was weakened by age. Jefferson soon found out about
Hamilton s affair with Maria Reynolds, a married woman wanting money. When he decided to tell
everyone about the affair, Hamilton accused him of hypocrisy, most likely referring to the well
known and proven rumors of Jefferson s affair with his slave.
Speaking of slavery, Jefferson owned around 175 slaves with one whom he had an affair with. He
sold his slaves to punish them and he bought wine and other luxurious goods with the money.
Destroying families didn t bother Jefferson, says Paul Finkelman, a professor at Albany Law
School, because he believed blacks lacked basic human emotions. In short, he didn t care cause he

Hate Crimes Act Analysis
There is no doubt that hate crimes and racial discrimination still exist. There is also no doubt that
such crimes are deplorable acts. From the Amish communities of Ohio, to the streets on Houston,
Texas, bias crimes are disturbingly prevalent and pose a significant threat to the full participation
of all Americans in our democratic society. However, with the enactment of the Hate Crimes Act in
2009, hope and justice have been improved for millions of Americans whose classes have long
been subjected to hate based violence.
The Civil Rights Act of 1968 created a federal cause of action to enhance penalties for crimes

Characteristics Of Oedipus The King
Oedipus the Tragic Hero A protagonist is a hero of a tragedy who has a high authority or power,
and is a somewhat okay person, who is brought down by an error in judgement. A good character
example is, Oedipus the King, by Sophocles. Oedipus is a tragic hero who is characterized by the
definition described. Oedipus the kinghad a hard way of life since after his birth he is abandoned
by his parents ,who wanted him killed when he was cast out of Thebes. This however, does not
stop him from being completely happy in life. Oedipus is a tragic herobecause he is not this
perceived perfect guy. He has bad qualities, but this is not why he experiences a downfall. Oedipus
the King, by Sophocles is a greek tragedyplay about human suffering and pain, but is good at the
same time because a person can learn something and benefit from it.Oedipus is already
considered to be somewhat of a hero in the beginning, as he is seen as a good person. He made
decisions that ultimately led to the changes that occurred in his life. Oedipus is a perfect
example of a tragic hero which can be seen in his characteristics like his tragic flaws, the desire to
know the truth, and the knowledge gained in the end. The first thing as a tragic hero that Oedipus
has is tragic flaws. Within the play Oedipus displays two tragic flaws, his pride, and his arrogance,
and determination. Tiresias, the oracle predicted to Oedipus that he would in

Benefits Of Legacy Application Mobility
Legacy Application Mobility, is the Answer Surprisingly Simple?
The significant benefits of mobility were highlighted in a recent Microsoft paper. The paper went
further than most, stating some quantifiable bottom line benefits for mobile application access;
claiming that mobility leads to 30% improvement in processes and 23% more productivity and
100% more satisfied employees . This enthusiasm and willingness to drive value for the business
outside of the typical work hours, or office location, can no longer be dismissed. So, what is
stopping organisations tapping into this extra productivity, and why are organisations that rely on
legacy applications, such as Mainframe, Unix, IBM i, Pick or even Multi Value systems finding it...

They have previously been physically guarded, so the idea of making them available on an
unregulated mobile device can be especially jarring. It s important to remember though, that
organisations who choose not to enable employee mobility are not immune to this risk. The latest
Forrester State of Enterprise Mobile Security report, by Chris Sherman points out that employees
are going to continue to purchase and use whatever devices and apps they need to serve customers
and be highly productive, whether or not these devices are company sanctioned . Whether you
embrace of shun mobility, your employees are likely to try and find their own mobile workaround.
Is this a barrier too high, or could there be a solution?
What there was a mobile app that would spontaneously give users a responsive, touch screen,
replica of the on premise applications they use to complete their day to day tasks? The app
would work on all devices and operating systems automatically, even those that haven t been
released yet. It would be as secure and performant as the in house applications and you wouldn t
have to develop it at all. It would just work. That sounds wildly unrealistic and in some ways, it
is. There is no app that will do all of those things, apps by their nature are specifically developed
for their destined OS; but apps are not a requisite for mobility. They are often lumped together and
assumed the same, but there is an alternative route to mobility that allows you

Straight Edge Movement
The main topic of this article is punk culture, but specifically a subset of hardcore punk culture
called Straight Edge. The article traces the evolution of the Straight Edge movement from the 1980
s 2000 s. This author argues that the Straight Edge movement evolved to become a lifestyle and an
ideology. In short, the author argues that as the Straight Edge movement evolved, the original
ideology associated with the movement shifted in the opposite direction due in part to the changing
demographic of the Straight Edge movement. The author s primary sources include interviews and
testimonials from individuals that were part of the movement, usually taken from magazines or
books about the Straight Edge movement. In order to establish what the Straight Edge movement
was all about, this author also looks at the actual Hardline Manifesto from which the Straight Edge
movement branched off of, but she also uses CD s from bands like Minor Threat to track the
musical changes that were taking place in the movement as well. Unlike other articles, this author
uses academic books about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the movement started out with promoting abstinence and veganism, the ambiguity of
the associated ideology and the changing demographics of the culture have distorted the original
values of the movement. Furthermore, this contribution also reveals the dangers of making societal
values a center of a movement, especially since the dominant demographic of the movement can
change what the values of the movement itself. In order to attract people to a movement, the values
of a movement have to allow for a certain ambiguity, but that ambiguity can be twisted and stretched
based on the demographic and that brings up real life implications, especially when it comes to
enacting the movement s

Essay about The Vulnerability of Weak Passwords
Passwords
This lab was to discuss the vulnerability of weak passwords. We were thought how to crack our
own passwords using a method called john the ripper . We also found out how secure various
passwords and how long it would take for a desktop Pc to crack these passwords. We looked up
various methods and applications to crack passwords.

What Is The Reflection Of The Alchemist
The Alchemist, appears on the best seller list most of the time. The story of the adventurous
journey of a shepherd who chased his dream unfolded. Santiago, the shepherd boy, dreamed the
same event twice in a row that someone had hidden treasure in Egypt pyramid. Then, he sold out
herd of sheep. His travel to unearth treasure blew the horn. On the whole way, adversities revealed
determination of shepherd. At last, under the guidance of the Alchemist he came across, he
noticed that fortune lied in the initial place where he used to graze. With the book, I realized that
I stuck on the chair from dusk to dawn. A surge of thrill sweeps over me when I reached the last
word of the work.

On the one hand, the author avoided plenty of terminologies. I spared little effort on the book
which saves time and trouble for me. Simple dialogues convey the philosophy within universe.
On the other hand, numerous unrealistic situations flooded through the article. In fact, not a large
number of lucky chances wait for us every moment. Not all of us stand in the position of
shepherd. Apart from the flaws, this book remains valuable. Nowadays, not many people insist
their original life goals. Account for greed, laziness, fear and so on, some people set aside their
pursuits and then run to the little interest before them. When time flees, dreams inside will walk to
the grave with their wrinkle on forehead in the end. How can we come to a halt towards
destination? Enjoy the moment and live an ambitious life. We should stick to our dreams and strive
for them. Only in this way can we comprehend great gist of happiness and realize our ultimate
goals. As what the woman told shepherd, When you want something, the entire universe conspires

Examples Of Allusion In All The Light We Cannot See
In the novel, All The Light We Cannot See, the author, Anthony Doerr, uses allusion to convey
how Marie Laure (one of the main characters) interprets the book 20,000 leagues under the sea.
Since she is blind, Marie Laure reads in braille and was given two significant things to help her
adjust to her blindness; The book 20,000 leagues under the sea, and a handmade scale model of
her town used for navigation. As she continues to read the book she learns that Pages later, he
[Captain Nemo] rammed a warship full of men, passing through its hull like a sailmaker s needle

On page 520, Doerr uses imagery to show how a diamond called the Sea of flames will
eventually rise up from the water again and belong to someone with ill intentions. The stone
would be discovered in another year, another day, another hour, when a storm claws one
particular stone out of a canyon and sends it into a clattering flow of alluvium, where it
eventually finds, one evening, the attention of a prince who knows what he is looking for. The
Sea of flames was a diamond that everyone wanted out of envy. It was priceless and beautiful, but
was also cursed; It protects the person who has it until they realize they can they survive on their
own. Marie Laure s father gives her the stone, but she learns that she never needed it in the first
place and that it does more harm than good. She decides to tell her friend Warner to throw it out
in the water inside a box with a key from the Natural Museum of History, where her father had
worked. This event can be interpreted in many different ways, but the main idea that sticks out is
that Warner dies after he gets rid of the stone. Once he no longer possessed it, it could no longer
keep him safe. Everyone but him survived after the curse was lifted and the stone was given back
to the sea. This quote comes long after the initial event, and showcases that the stone would not be
hidden forever. That greed, no matter how much it is suppressed, will find its way to the

Disadvantages Of Gold Loans
Loans not only forms an important source of revenue for banks and other financial institutions, but
they also add to the economy. The most recent of them being is Gold loans. Gold loans are
amongst the newest class of assets which have seen rapid growth in securitisation. Gold has been a
valued commodity for a pretty long time, particularly in Indiawhere it is considered highly valuable
and auspicious and has been in use for centuries in the form of jewellery, coins and other assets.
Gold being a highly liquid asset, it has been recognized as a product that can be leveraged by
consumers to meet their liquidity needs effectively.
In India, it is believed that most of the gold is held by people in rural areas and in many cases
this is the only asset they have in their possession though in small quantity by which they can
easily raise cash from moneylenders due to unavailability of banking facilities. Opting for gold
loan can be broadly classified into status based, demographic based and age based segments. After

Pop Art And The Art
Throughout the vast history of art, there have been many art movements that stand out and
revolutionize the art world. However, one movement stands out in particular and it is known as
Pop Art. Pop Art was invented by a few younger artists by the name of Andy Warhol, Claes
Oldenburg, and Roy Lichtenstein. It was brought about in the 1960s and it helped define a new
form of American Realism. Its origin was sort of a lash out against Abstract Expressionism, which
was a style of painting. The point of pop artwas to represent life as most Americans lived it. It
pointed out the simple things that Americans find themselves caught up in in everyday life. Pop
Art represented a world focused around popular culture, which is basically what is hot in America
at the time. Pop Art brought about the reality that America revolved around the culture of things
like Wall Street Finance and Madison Avenue Advertising. It sort of presented the thought that
maybe Americans weren t so hard to get through to or to understand. Pop Art revealed the pop
culture in America and made beautiful art in return. It helped turn the page in the art world that was
leaving traditional media, like painting, in the wind.
Although there were many great artists to work with Pop Art like Claes Oldenburg and Roy
Lichtenstein, one that particularly stands out is Andy Warhol. Born in August of 1928 in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, Warhol was not among the most fortunate. Throughout his young life, Andy Warhol
lived in

Postigo contacted five vendors, four of which came back with bids. The first scenario where the
cost outweighed the benefit: had he traveled to the fifth vendor, it would have been a complete
waste of time and money. Secondly, as soon as Postigo informed the potential vendors of their
expected delivery date, a second vendor dropped out of the running, stating that they would not
be able to make the delivery date. By sacrificing the face to face meetings, Postigo saved a large
amount of time and money while still attracting 3 potential vendors; eventually leading to a deal
that, from his standpoint, was very successful. a. Followup question: Did Postigo pay particular
attention to the other party s needs in the phone calls with Dehiv Medji? Postigo did a very good
job of paying attention to Dehiv Medji s needs throughout the negotiations. They spoke about the
affect the Kenyan government might have on both parties, understanding the government
subsidies could cripple both parties. He brought up Medji s opportunity to grow and wanted to be
involved in their growth, he asked about growth prospects...indicated that the two organizations
might grow together (Negotiating, pg 7). Postigo negotiated in a fair and cooperative manner,
providing flexibility on delivery dates and transportation costs. One of the biggest appeals of Dehvi
Medji to OAF was its willingness to fix a price in November for a January delivery (Negotiating, pg

The Cree Tribes Understanding Of Health Essay
The Cree tribes understanding of health is something very much different from what a
modern North American society would understand it as. This is because health is not a
universal entity, but it is a social reality constructed by different people using different social
meanings and symbols. Health can then be seen as a complex, dynamic process that can
incorporate religion in contrast to the baseline standard thought of health as a biomedical or
epidemiological practice. The Cree s practice of health is political in a sense where it acts as a
strategy for cultural assertion and resistance with a balance of power between the state, the
individual, and disenfranchised groups. The Cree s understanding of health cannot be seen
outside of colonialism. The forced displacement, pervasive racism, and failed attempts of
assimilation have set up a historical, cultural, and social context that subsists today. Health to
the Cree is identification, a realization of self that exists because of historical confrontations
that developed beliefs and practices over time. The term white man or waamstikuushiiu
represents how through history and even today, the constant oppression colonization has had
on the Cree s way of life. The Cree have given meaning to this idea of white man that is beyond
the universal meaning through the senses. Through changes and threats, each generation has
been able to learn, embody and envision ways of life and being Cree. The idea of health and

Rules of odds The rule of odds suggests that an odd number of subjects in an image is more interesting than an even number. Therefore if you have more than one subject in your picture, the suggestion is to choose an arrangement with at least three subjects to make it symmetrical and visually appeasing. Centred composition Central composition is often calm and static. It places the one subject in the very centre of the shot. By composing your subject in the centre, you are basically placing him in front of the viewer as if attempting to introduce them. It also helps emphasize the space around your subject as it becomes the very thing that leads the viewer s gaze towards where you, the creator, intended it to go. This mean that the powder is mixed with binder to make sure the particles will stick together when pressed to form the anode which will flow into press tool smoothly. A high pressure condition is applied to the tantalumpowder around a tantalum wire to form tantalum slug. The binder is removed by heating the slug under vacuum and high temperature for a few minutes. Next process is sintering, the tantalum is sintered at high temperature in vacuum and cause every single particles rejoin to form a sponge like structure. The graphite layer is functioned to prevent the direct contact of silver layer and manganese oxide. Properties The capacitance value of tantalum capacitors have the range between 1nF to 72mF and voltage rating is from 2V to 500V or higher. The size of tantalum capacitoris smaller than aluminum capacitor in the same capacitance value. The tantalum capacitor has its anode, electrolyte and cathode just like other electrolytic capacitor. The anode is made by tantalum metal and not placed beside cathode so that only small leakage of DC current will occur. The capacitance value is higher if the internal surface is higher. Strength Tantalum electrolytic capacitor has high volumetric efficiency compare to other electrolytic capacitor. Besides, tantalum capacitor has good frequency characteristic which mean they are more suitable in using other application where normal electrolytic capacitor could not be done. It also has high reliability, they say to be unlimited life time as an electrolytic capacitor. It can withstand extreme temperate in range 55В°C to 125В°C. Furthermore, it has high level of compatibility with other modern production. Weakness Tantalum electrolytic capacitor has low ripple current ratings which shrink the area of using them. Tantalum capacitor cannot sustain excessive voltage or reversing the voltage, this may cause it to explode. Lastly, the cost is higher compare to other capacitor. A black hole is a region of space time exhibiting such strong gravitational effects that nothing can escape from inside it. (NASA) No human has ever entered a black hole and there is still a large mystery about them; we have very little idea of where the matter that enters them goes. A black holecannot be looked into either, as it sucks all the light into the middle of it. Space programs use special satellites with certain features that allow them to see these black holes. • 8. Giving Our Felons A Chance Giving Our Felons a Chance What if you couldn t find somewhere to live? This is an actual issue that many Americans face every day. Not because of the lack of money, but because of their criminal records felons to be specific. Having a criminal record, now in days is not hard, you can be felon for something small or for something big. However, once a felon you are out of luck with finding a place to live on your own. I think it is the smallest and most irrelevant things that our government take into notice. The government will never see and think like a person who grew up in poverty. If you have a criminal record and can t find a place to live to better yourself what the next step? It can only go south from here. No one should struggle to find a place to live and call home. I believe that there are felons out there who will never better themselves nor would they care to. These felons don t care for a place to live or a place to call home. However, there are many people who end up with a criminal record for a very small incident, maybe an incident that was not their fault. There are many felons who can post bail and maybe do one day in jail. If you can post bail in one day I m sure your crime was not life threatening. Therefore, why can t this felon find a place to live? The reason is because any apartmentcomplex you apply for will do a background check and will deny you. The Metamorphoses, no doubt Ovid s magnum opus, is no exception to this rule. Written in 8 A.D., Ovid s epic poem tackles important concepts such as divinity, the definition of gender, and mortal immortal relationships. Additionally, The Metamorphoses adds intricate detail to the epics of old, and places many mythical histories in an emotional context. The collection of poems begins with the creation of the world, and chronicles time from that point to the deification of Julius Caesar. In one book of the poem, for example, several Thracian women are turned into trees as a form of punishment, while Baucis and Philemon are changed to trees upon their deaths as a form of blessing for their generosity towards Jupiter and Mercury. As Ovid describes stories of lust, insanity, and revenge, he uses metamorphoses to add meaning and beauty, in much the same way a painter adds color to enliven an image. The poetic aesthetic of a transformation used to lighten a tragedy, give a hero a more fitting end, provide an escape from lust, or compensate for past atrocities imbues Ovid s narratives with a beauty that would otherwise be lacking. Consequently, Ovid s unique implementation of such meaningful changes contributed to his masterpiece s longevity, which has continuously inspired writers and readers alike over the two millennia since its ... An Evidence Vitro For The Influence Of Bisphenol A On Uterine Synopsis of An evidence in vitro for the influence of bisphenol A on uterine leiomyoma 1.Introduction Uterine fibroids are the most common noncancerous growths of the uterus also known as leiomyomas or myomas. They are not usually associated with an increased risk of uterine cancer and almost never develop into cancer but are considered as a common cause of hysterectomy. Gynecological researchers consider that the increase in the incidence of this type of tumor is related to the presence of exogenous estrogens in the environment, classifying these uterine fibroids as hormonally responsive tumors. The use of phenolic estrogens in the manufacture of plastic, resins, and several others, created a risk for the human and environment since the exposure and pollution due to these chemicals has increased significantly. Among these phenolic estrogens is Bisphenol A (BPA) which is considered to influence the development of uterine fibroids. However, the role of environment estrogens in the promotion of the growth of uterine fibroids, and its mechanism of action are not completely established. The authors of this paper performed a series of evaluations and observations expecting to identify the effect and mechanism of BPA on uterine leiomyoma (UL) cells. In this study UL cells were exposed to different concentrations of BPA to observe the cell, the proteinexpression was monitored for changes in expression of estrogen receptor alpha (ERО±), insulin like growth factor 1 (IGF 1) ... The reader could either take the words for face value as true, or discard them as utter fiction. The decision is based upon the credence of the speaker. In this case the speaker is Cora, the overly religious neighbor. Although not initially apparent, it is later revealed that her view of Addie s affection towards Darl is completely inaccurate. Cora bases her verbal reaction on Addie s physical response, but does not take into account Addie s reasoning. This example makes the importance of credibility, especially based on knowledge of the situation, more pronounced. Furthermore, the onlookers narration needs to be free of bias for true objectivity. Faulkner lets the most detached characters of the book give the most objective views of the Bundrens, because they have no bias towards them. The stronger a character s morals are and the stronger their predisposition, the more skewed their objectivity. Cora is a good example for distorted objectivity. As a deeply fervent religious character Cora is biased against Addie s supposedly sinful ways stating, the eternal and the everlasting salvation and grace is not upon her (Faulkner 8). The truth of the matter is that placing the blame for the Stock MarketCrash on Mr. Hoover is very unfair. Herbert Hoover was only one of many causes of the Stock Market Crash. The terrible working conditions which can consist of massive heat, large amount of infestation, or unsafe equipment can not only causes harm or illness, but can eventually lead to death. There are no children in the world who would want to work in an environment that can end their life at any given moment due to improper safety regulations. It is unfortunate that individuals who purchase the goods that these children produce such as cell phones, laptops, carpet, and clothing are unintentionally providing these children with their low wages of sub one dollar an hour. • 36. The Use Of Symbolism In Traveling Through The Dark Symbolism is used in everything from movies to stories, EVERYTHING. Symbolism is the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities. Symbols can be used to describe or mean something else. For example, empty pockets can be used as a symbol to describe not having any money. It can be used in many different ways and forms. Symbols are used everyday and time are really hard to notice what they truly mean. The following poems all use different symbols, but all stand for deception the poems are Traveling Through the Dark by William Stafford, We Wear the Mask by Paul Laurence Dunbar, Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson, and The Lotteryby Shirley Jackson. To begin with, the poem Traveling Through the Dark the car is symbolized as death. In real life time a car is used as a form of transportation, but can also bring death to those involved in an accident. The narrator states, Traveling though the dark I found a deer dead on the edge of the Wilson river road (lines1 2). He says that he has found a dead deer on by the river that another car might have hit before. This car that the narrator is in come be a sign of death coming again to a unborn baby. He says, . . . then pushed her over the edge into the river (line18). After finding the dead deer he decides to move the deer to prevent another accident, later to find out that an unborn is still alive. He makes his way towards a cliff pushing off the dead and now dead baby fawn to dispose of the bodies. Nordstrom comments, the car is certainly described as a death bringer (Nordstrom). Nordstrom understands that death is disguised by a car and as the car approaches the deer, its death making its way again. Next the poem named We Wear the Mask deals with what slaves would relate to during the slavery having to cover up their true feelings. A mask is used as a symbol as it is used to hide the true feelings of those who are in grief and sorrow. In the poem it states, We wear the mask that grins and lies . . . (line 1). Right off the bat the writer agrees to wearing a mask that does not show true emotions. The writer is most likely not willing to show his or her true feelings, because during the time slaves were not supposed to be happy and were not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Characterism In Snow White In many societies, wealthy people are seen as hardworking, deserving, and above everybody else. However, poor people are portrayed as undeserving, uneducated, and useless. In modern day America, these characterizations have switched. Gene Simmons once said, Live and think like a poor man and you ll always be okay . In some cases, poor people are the ones that work long, boring day, where rich people are drinking imported wine on a yacht. When reading, Snow White, by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, the authors write from a marxist point of view. They also use characterization of the evil queen and the dwarfs to describe the socio economic classes of modern day society. The authors positively characterize the dwarfs, who represent the lower class. It is known that the lower class is primarily underprivileged. However, this group is seen as innocent, hardworking, kind, and fair minded. The Grimms use the seven dwarfs to positively portray the lower class. They don t live in a castle with gold jewels and unlimited meals. In fact, they live in a house where, everything was small (Grimm, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm). When Snow White, a young girl from the upper class, comes to the house, she is allowed to stay only if she works around the house. In the piece, the dwarfs say, If you will keep house for us, and cook, make beds, wash, sew, and knit, and keep everything clean and orderly, then you can stay with us, and you shall have everything that you want (Grimm, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm). It can be assumed that these are the common chores around the dwarfs house. In contrast to a king or a queen, there are much more tasks that need to be completed. A king or a queen has maids, cooks, and butlers. This proves that the dwarfs are very hard working. When Snow White comes along, the dwarfs give some of these jobs to her. While the dwarfs warmly welcome Snow White into their house, they cannot let her presence derail them from their daily, complex lifestyle. Having Snow White move into their house is a big change to them. For some, drastic changes can take a while to mentally process. For the dwarfs, however, they have to continue to work hard in order to survive. According to John Sanders, a fairy tale analyst, They [the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is because health is not a universal entity, but it is a social reality constructed by different people using different social meanings and symbols. Health can then be seen as a complex, dynamic process that can incorporate religion in contrast to the baseline standard thought of health as a biomedical or epidemiological practice. The Cree s practice of health is political in a sense where it acts as a strategy for cultural assertion and resistance with a balance of power between the state, the individual, and disenfranchised groups. The Cree s understanding of health cannot be seen outside of colonialism. The forced displacement, pervasive racism, and failed attempts of assimilation have set up a historical, cultural, and social context that subsists today.
