Covert Action Definition
Covert Action is any activity performed by U.S. government entities with the intent to influence
another nations political, economic or military conditions, while the U.S. government role will not
be known or acknowledged publicly. Thus, providing the United States plausible deniability is
crucial to any covert action carried out by the U.S. government. However, as one can tell by the
provided covert action definition, there are various forms of covert actions. This essay will
discuss the various forms of covert action and assess each discussed covert actions utility and
value in the modern era. Additionally, an example of one of the forms of covert action will be
provided. Political propaganda is one form of covert action. The intent of political propaganda is to
influence a nations citizens regarding the nation s politicians, economy, political situation, and/or
military threats. This is accomplished by publish false statements in newspapers, magazine, books,
and other forms of publication. This form of covert action has worked extremely well in the past
both for and against the national interest of the United States. However,... Show more content on

This can be anything from paying another nations citizens to vote for members that have a
favorable opinion of the United States, to creating demonstrations and strikes against political
foes or for friendly political parties. Again, these types of covert action have been successful in
the past. However, unlike political propaganda covert actions, political activities covert actions can
still be successful in today s world. This is primarily because in the areas where the United States
would utilize such covert actions, those nations typically blame the United States anytime a
particular political activity does not goes as planned. Therefore, the nations that would place the
blame have tried this tactic once too many time to be taken seriously by the rest of the

Neonatal Hypoglycemia Summary
Appraise the Evidence: Neonatal Hypoglycemia In 2014, diabetes was responsible for 4.9 million
deaths, approximately one death every seven seconds (Bone, 2015). For some women, pregnancy
can precipitate diabetes causing numerous subsequent lifelong complications for both the mother
and her fetus/newborn. The previous shocking statistic is just one of the many reasons why
implementing evidence based practice (EBP) protocols is an essential aspect in providing great
patient care. In addition, EBP is crucial in improving patient outcomes while decreasing negative
outcomes that can result in lifelong complications due to gestational diabetes. The process of
establishing an EBP requires research to be critically appraised before it could be used... Show more

strength of research evidence, however, this does not deem the findings useless. Although, the
findings observed may not be immediately applied to clinical procedures and interventions it still
brings light to a phenomenon within clinical practice. According to Grove et al. (2015) descriptive
studies often provide initial knowledge, which serves as a basis for generating quasi experimental
and outcomes studies (p. 25). With the new insight gained through the study, future studies could be

The Notebook By Rachel Nelson Analysis
Allison Nelson (Allie), in her younger years is described as artistic and energetic. Throughout
the entire book (The Notebook) many characteristics are revealed about her. A bedroom for her
would have to be vibrant and full of life just like her. Growing up with money, she is very classy
so the room would have to reflect that. She s an easy to predict person, plotting the perfect room
for her can easily be done. The walls would have to be a beautiful, light pastel color, nothing
bright or absurd to offset the class of the room. A color that s elegant and soft such as a powder
pink. On the walls there would be artwork. Paintings she had done or that she found astonishing.
Famous artworks would plaster the pastel walls. Hanging from the ceiling

Essay about Campbell Soup Company Audit
Campbell Soup Company
Background
Campbell was founded shortly before the start of the Civil War. Abraham Anderson and Joseph
Campbell began manufacturing canned vegetables and fruit preserves. In 1976, Campbell bought
out Anderson s interest and renamed the firm the Joseph Campbell Preserving Company. Later,
Arthur Dorrance was Campbell s new partner. In the early 1920s, John Dorrance, Arthur Dorrance s
nephew, was the sole owner of the Campbell Soup Company, which was the largest producer of
canned soup products. Unfortunately, as the twentieth century was coming to a close, the nation s
appetite for condensed soup products was waning. The weakening demand prompted the company s
executives to use an assortment of questionable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These practices are trade loading, improper accounting for loading discounts, shipping to the yard,
and guaranteed sales.
Trade Loading
Campbell offered sizable trade discounts near the end of accounting period to entice customers
to make product purchases that they would otherwise defer. By this way, a company can use
price concessions to prop up its reported revenues and profits. Plaintiffs pointed out that PwC
auditors were aware of the excessive trade loading by their client and this should have been a red
flag for PwC to investigate the possibility that their client was fraudulently misrepresenting its
operating results. The judge agree with the plaintiffs that PwC s workpapers revealed the firm
was aware of Campbell s disproportionately sales near the end of quarterly reporting periods.
However, the he disagreed with the assertion that PwC should have considered those heavy sales a
red flag. Instead, he pointed out that PwC s workpapers referred to the large, period ending sales
as a traditional trend in Campbell s operating results.
This traditional trend may apply to Campbell s business environment, but may not to other industry.
An auditor had better understand the industry environment he or she involves in to judge whether
disproportionately sales near the end of quarterly reporting periods are normal or not.
Improper Accounting for Loading Discount
Whether PwC would remain a defendant was whether the audit firm realized that large

Age Related Macular Degeneration ( Amd )
Age related macular degeneration (AMD) is a clinical condition in which there is a progressive
decrease in central vision. There are two forms of macular degeneration, dry/nonexudative and wet
/exudative, and these differ in fundal findings and treatment options. Dry macular degeneration is
due to accumulation of drusen between the retinal pigment epithelium and Bruch s membrane and
eventually progresses to geographic atrophy. Geographic atrophy refers to loss of retinal pigment
epithelium (RPE) and photoreceptors. Wet macular degeneration, comprising up to 80% of cases of
macular degeneration, is due to neovascularization forming choroidal neovascular membranes,
which are unstable vessels leading to an array of complications including... Show more content on

One important direction of research was the association drawn between complement Factor H and
macular degeneration, which proposed that macular degeneration could be considered a much
broader systemic vascular disease. Factor H is a glycoprotein that aids in the inhibiting the
activation of the alternate pathway to prevent the host from activating the immune response
towards self antigens. The association between factor H and macular degeneration is so great
that a homozygous single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) can increase the risk of developing
age related macular degeneration by seven fold and even a heterozygous SNP can increase the
risk two to three fold. Furthermore, deletions in the genes for complement factor H related 1 and
3, which compete with factor H for binding sites, have been demonstrated to protect against age
related macular degeneration by increasing the amount of binding sites available for complement
factor H to bind to the vasculature. Factor H has even been shown to be actively synthesized by
the RPE; gene products were generated from cultured RPE and real time RT PCR established that
transcripts for factor H were abundant in the RPE. The association is even clearer when clinically
examining patients with Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis II in which there is a
deficiency in factor H. These patients develop early onset drusen on fundal examination. Most
importantly, the association found between factor H and AMD stirred

What sets a successful company apart from everyone in the industry? Is it the way of thinking
within a company that promotes the quest for continuous improvement or the value a company
puts on their customers satisfaction with the company s product or service? There are many
qualities that make a company successful. Two examples of how successful companies
demonstrate what it means to be a successful is by who they are, as well as how they achieved a
world class performance level in their respective industries. One successful company is Midway
USA. They were the winner of the Malcolm Baldrige Award in 2009 for small businesses, a second

What sets MidwayUSA apart from their competitors? MidwayUSA developed company key
measures, on which they base their success. They set customer satisfaction as their number one
company goal, and their success relative to their competitors is determined by their ability to meet
their company goals of customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, vendor satisfaction, and
shareholder satisfaction, as well as their ability to execute their strategic plan. This also includes
their ability to achieve sustainability through the use of modern management practices.
MidwayUSA s overall customer satisfaction rating is 93 percent, with an overall retention rate of
98 percent and customer loyalty rate of 94 percent (MidwayUSA, 2009). MidwayUSA is doing an
excellent job of achieving their number one goal of customer satisfaction. The customer culture
that MidwayUSA has created is one of the best. This culture is driven from the top down,
beginning with the Founder and CEO. One example of their positive culture is that all salaried
employees, including the CEO and management, answer customer calls for an hour each week.
This allows employees direct contact with the customers, which aids them with customer focus.
Another example is that employees are rated based on how friendly, courteous, and respectful they
are while providing an ethical service (MidwayUSA, 2009). These evaluations and ratings are a
determining factor in the profit sharing the company provides for

Measuring Cytotoxicity On Cancer Cells
Measuring Cytotoxicity on Cancer Cells by Inhibiting the Reduction of 3 (4, 5 dimethylthiazolyl 2)

Abstract: Chemotherapy is a well known treatment when it comes to treating cancer, however the
drugs are often non specific and can end up damaging perfectly healthy cells, leaving the patient in
agony, or not achieve anything. In this study we looks into the area of personalised medicine where
different drugs are used for different patients with the same cancer dependent upon the effects this
drug will have. Two chemotherapeutic agents, named A and B, were used to prevent the cell
proliferating and therefore stop the cancer progressing and surviving as the cells starve to death. A

Radiotherapy was the first method non surgical method used to cure cancer around 100 years ago
and was, up until recently, the most common way to do so (http://cancerres.aacrjournals.org/content

those cells DNA. The mutations are fatal and the cells die, therefore curing the cancer, however
many healthy cells around that tumour also get mutated and can also die in the process so there
can be some severe side effects from radiotherapy. Chemotherapy was invented around 40 years
later (same guy unfortunately to link) in 1935 but due to lack of progress it was dismissed until
the 1960 s when there was proof that it actually could cure cancer and not just relieve certain
symptoms but do nothing else. Whilst radiotherapy is still the most common treatment of cancers
chemotherapy is now a treatment almost everyone will have heard of and is a growing field in an
attempt to cure cancer with various drugs while minimising the side effects some of these drugs can
have. However vary rarely are these treatments used as standalone treatments nowadays, combining
the above techniques in different ways to ensure total removal of the cancerous cells. This method

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy And Mental Health Disorders...
Introduction
Struggling with depression during adolescence stage constantly wondered me what clinical
approach can treat depression. Rather than relying on medications, clinical therapies are more
effective to cure a variety of mental disorders. Although there are numerous psychological and
physiological treatments to cure depression, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [CBT] will effectively
treat depression as well as other mental health problems. Commonly used by most mental health
experts, cognitive behavioral therapy is a short term, problem focused form of behavioral treatment
that helps people see the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and subsequent
behavior patterns and actions. (GoodTherapy.org) Thus, cognitive behavioral therapy is an
adequate model practice for practitioners to treat not only depressed disorders but also other mental
health disorders.
History
As stated in Psych Central and Beck Institute, with the long historical roots, CBT was established
by Aaron T. Beck in the 1960s. (Beck Institute) After Sigmund Freud s experimental psychology
and the influence of behaviorism, Behavior Therapy was first introduced to reduce problematic
manifestations of behavior by using well defined and strictly validated scientific principle
techniques which expanded to mind body psychotherapy (Psych Central) To be specific, in 1920s,
operant conditioning, classical conditioning and social learning theory were utilized by numerous

Instinct A By Henry Carpenter Summary
In Extract A, Carpenter suggests that Henry s lack of experience in the administrative running
of a country, his rapacity and his bias against the nobles lead to the relationship between the
King and the nobility being undermined. A convincing point that Carpenter provides is that
Henry had no experience of running a country. Having spent fourteen years in exile in Brittany,
he had not grown up amongst the nobles in the English royal courts, and therefore this not only
diminished his experience of administration but also separated him from the English nobility.
This created a great dependence upon the guidance of others, as he had no past knowledge of
how to run a country. The extract is also convincing because it argues that Henry greatly
restricted the powers of the nobility. With previous monarchs, the nobility had a great amount of
power, however, with Henry, it was very different. Being a noble did not guarantee power or
closeness to the king, and, in fact, by the end of his reign, Henry had retreated so far from the
nobility that, essentially, their only role was to be part of the magnificance of court life. Henry
gave a voice to the middle classes new men , as they were known, became greatly politically
active, whereas the nobility had an obligation of loyalty being forced upon them. How influential

Certainly a large part of the country s income was through feudal dues, whether wardship, where
the King had the right to look after an orphaned heir and their land if the heir was not yet old
enough to take over the land themselves, marriage dues when a noble heiress was married, or
relief money paid when a noble inherited land. Another source of income was Bonds and
Recognisances penalties paid by nobles if they failed to keep a promise or do a duty. These
methods provoked resentment amongst the nobles, but also helped establish Henry s

Latino Men Tend To Judge A Neighborhood
We tend to judge a neighborhood often with news report and people s actions. As parents walk by

reads MS13 LEEWARD and right away they know that it has been done by a group of gangsters
marking their property. Families assume that gangsters live in that specific neighborhood.
Each time they pass in that area they see Latino men wearing white sleeveless shirts with baggy
blue pants. They observe the different tattoos all over their arms with different shapes and letters.

The backyard was filled with a line of green bushes and a pile of toys was in the corner for any kid
to play with. Everyone was invited but only a few went since many people had to go to work.
There was Spanish songs being played by a DJ with his big set of headphones on. Families were
mixing with other families from different backgrounds. Men were laughing, women were off

Everyone sat down at the big rectangular table like if they were all a big family enjoying dinner

Shackle, shackle, shackle! As hundreds of dark skinned slaves tied from feet to feet with metal
chains made these sounds. Their backs ache from digging, and planting as they cry from pain. As

While the soldiers suffered a cold death the slaves celebrated their victory with a toast of wine and

On the last day of December was the day that Ulfric gave the order. Burn the fortress walls down, lit

What Is Fear In Lord Of The Flies
Fear is the most dangerous emotion known to man. One forgets the civility that is drilled into their
minds from birth and relies on human instinct to survive. This is what the boys in Lord of the
Flies experience when they find themselves stranded on a deserted island without any contact with
the outside world. They have to depend on each other to survive. While one group relies on human
instinct and savagery in the face of danger and fear, the other wants to hold onto civilization, but in
the heat of the moment, fear strips their civility away as well. William Goldings Lord of the Flies
asserts that fear unmasks the ugly face of human nature. In times of uncertainty, imagination will
overpower all logic. In Lord of the Flies, the longer

Pluto Pros And Cons
People love Pluto, whether they are young or old it does not seem to matter. The planet (and
Walt Disney s beloved character) holds a special place in a lot of people s hearts. Yet, this only
became clear to me after reading The Pluto Files by Neil deGrasse Tyson. I remember when Pluto
s classification changed from being a planetto a dwarf planet however, I was never aware of how
big of a controversy it caused. The fact that there was a conference deciding whether or not we
should keep Pluto as our ninth planet was not something I was aware of previously to this book.
Tyson does a wonderful job explaining the story of Pluto and not only the how the planet was
reclassified but also why. As we spoke about in class Pluto does not really fit into the categories
of being a planet, this was one of the major arguments as to why Pluto should not be considered
our nineth planet anymore. I believe that it is interesting that some people were trying to then
create a classification specifically for Pluto. However, this obviously did not come to be as there
must be more than one of something in order for it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is surprising is how people reacted and continue to over the decision. I agree with Tyson
when he says Find quote about Pluto being the smallest planet and largest dwarf planet Yet, it is
surprising that a lot of people do not feel this way. Why are people so emotionally attached to an
object that is billions of miles away? Is it because it was one of the easier planets to remember in
the solar system? Or perhaps it was because it was the smallest and people tend to cheer for the
underdog. No doubt Disney s fun, loving pup had some help in the matter as well. Whatever the
case people feel strongly enough about the issue to write Tyson personally about the regrouping of
their favorite planet. Again what surprises me is that it was not only children but also

Comparing the 1929 Market Crash and the Current Position in the Stock Market
During the 1920 s, the North American economy was roaring, but this decade would eventually
be put to a stop. In October of 1929, the stock market began its steepest decline to this date in
history. Many stock market traders and economists believe and pray that it was a one shot
episode never to be repeated. On the other hand, many financial analysts and other economists
believe that the current stock markets are in place to repeat the calamitous errors of the 1920 s. In
this paper, I will analyze the causes of the crash and discuss the possibilities of it re occurring.

Using the Dow Jones Industrial Average(DJIA) at the beginning of every year as a measure, the
economy has grown in a log linear fashion since 1897. There have been two major oscillations in
the DJIA.
The first major oscillation began in the early 1920s. In the period from 1924 to 1929 the DJIA rose
from 100 to 300, just prior to the crash of October 1929. During the 1930 s and the Great
Depression, the DJIA reached a low of 42.
The second major oscillation was less dramatic. There was an increase from the expected baseline
of growth that began in 1958, which lasted throughout the 1960 s but was followed by a dip below
the baseline during the 1970 s. Finally, in the

Les Miserables Essay
Throughout the book Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, Eponine s love for Marius is very evident.
Marius is oblivious to this, and only recognizes it once Eponine confesses her love for him.
Marius is blind to the fact, and overlooks Eponine. Eponine falls blindly in love with Marius,
knowing that he will never loveher. The first time she meets him, was at his apartment to give him
a begging letter from her father. Trying to impress him, she shows her ability to read and write
by reading aloud a passage from a book, and then writes, THE COGNES ARE HERE (Hugo 231).
She then opens up to him about her life and her hardships. Marius feels pity for her and gives her
five francs, and she thanks him.
In the movie, Eponine says Little he knows. Little he sees. She is talking to Marius and how he
doesn t really see the true potential in her. Eponine is smart and tough, but is also sensitive and
lonely. Since he doesn t love her, she feels little self worth. Marius s moods change though
according to his circumstances, so he doesn t always recognize what she is feeling. When Cosette

others and by the rising nationalism of the European nations. Economic and imperial competition

Listeria Monocytogenes
Description
Listeria monocytogenes is a gram positive motile facultative anaerobe that inhabits a variety of
environments. Using selective media it can be readily isolated from soil, water, vegetation and
processed products, including ready to eat products designated for human consumption (Graves et
al., 1992). The bacterium was named monocytogenes because one distinguish characteristic of
infection in rabbits, which was the production of monocytosis in blood (Shuin et al., 1982).
L. monocytogenes is phychrophilic, has a temperature for growth of 0В°C to 45В°C (Barbosa et

contaminated after pasteurization and stored under refrigeration may achieve very high populations
of L. monocytogenes after one week; Furthermore, temperature abuse may enhance the
multiplication of bacterial cells. L. monocytogenes can also be found in cheese because of its
relative hardiness to temperature fluctuations, ability to multiply at refrigeration temperature and
salt tolerance. During manufacturing process, L. monocytogenes is primarily concentrate in the
cheese curd, with only a very small portion of cells appearing in the whey. Then, during ripening
of the cheese, the numbers of cells may increase (Camembert), decrease gradually (Colby or
cheddar), or decrease rapidly (blue cheese) and then stabilize. In addition, cooked and ready to eat
meat and poultry products have been implicated as the source of sporadic and epidemic listeriosis
on several occasions in North America and Europe (Schwartz et al., 1989). L. monocytogenes
attaches strongly to the surface of raw meats and is difficult to remove or inactivate. The
multiplication in meat and poultry depends on the type of meat, pH, and the type of cell

supports the growth of L. monocytogenes better than other meats. Furthermore, the incidence of L.

TECHNOLOGY PLANS Technology plan is expected for an organization. Technology Plan will
present the accurate management of resources according to the main concern. Creating something
new can be termed as innovation. There are different kinds of innovation models. Innovation
models are very important as these plays a major part in the growth of technology plan. Innovation
will profile the process. The technology push and need pull are the two necessary words of
Innovation Process. In technology push, new opportunity is coming out from research works. Need
pull is the mother of innovation. It means that market will request the need of something new. In a
fact state both the technology push and need pull should be the same. The relations of both the
variables should be equal. Innovation is a difficult process. Most innovation starts with some
problems like confused, false starts, problem with the recycling of steps and so on. There are three
types of Innovations. First of all Disruptive Innovation, the second open Innovation and third is
closed Innovation Disruptive Innovation can be defined as structure of a process which describes a

Analysis of the Translation of the Analects of Confucius
Jpz777 04/29/2013 Order # 2094035 In an authoritative and widely cited translation of the Analects
of Confucius originally published in 1938, celebrated English sinologist Arthur Waley provided the
most comprehensive explication of this enduring contribution to humanistic philosophy, one which
has since been continually reprinted for scholarly study. An anthology of short yet powerful
passages which capture the beliefs taught by Confucius during his lifetime, the Analects offers a
fluid recreation of Confucius and his associated teachings, through the prism provided by the
evolving structure of the school of thought created. Beginning with a sober deconstruction of the
mythologizing which has come to define the Western conception of Confucius, of whom Waley
states it appears from the Analects that he was a private person who trained the sons of gentlemen
in the virtues proper to a member of the ruling class (14), this translation offers modern readers with
an comprehensive and historically accurate interpretation of the Analects, and their influence on the
resulting system of moral mastery known as Confucianism. Spreading slowly but steadily
throughout China after the original texts comprising the Analects was compiled by Confucius
pupils in approximately 300 BCE, the philosophy of social and political ethics espoused in these
twenty books developed into a combination of religious dogma and ruling doctrine. As Waley notes
in the Introduction to his translation, from

Helen Of Troy, By Margaret Atwood
Unlike the many versions of Helen of Troy, in Margaret Atwood s The Penelopiad, she paints the
infamous woman as imperfect, as a siren, a goddess, a murderer. By making the reader see Helen
through Penelope s eyes, new layers are added to this character so often sought after. Helen and
Penelope s dynamic adds a layer to not only The Penelopiad, but also to the male dominated
Odyssey. These factors create a dynamic feminine force, and both women are in multiple ways a
foil to one another. Many of Penelopes insecurities comes from her own view of herself and the
way her experiences have shaped her. At the very beginning of the novel she says Hadn t I been
faithful? Hadn t I waited, and waited, and waited, despite the temptation almost the compulsion to
do otherwise? And what did I amount to, once the official version gained ground? An edifying
legend. A stick used to beat other women with (Pg. 2, The Penelopiad). Penelope already has
immense difficulty with herself and her identity. It is an interesting dichotomy. In one way
Penelope wants to be like Helenbecause she doesn t have the status of a legendary faithful wife.
However, she is forgetting that Helen does have her own legendary status, one that Penelope
sometimes longs for, but is most likely unsatisfactory in its own way. One of Penelope s biggest
jealousies for Helen is the amount of power she has over all she encounters, in life and death.
When Penelope first settles into her new life she states ...there was

Laying down in your bed, you hear this consistent knocking. You try to sleep through it but it
seems as if it will never quit. Curious, you roll out of bed away from the comfort of your wife s
warm body but cautiously move closer, step by step downstairs into the direction of the sound.
Each step you take wondering whether or not your house is being robbed. You finally ease your
way downstairs and quickly flip the light switch only to find your home empty and totally void
of any damage or evidence of a theft of any kind; however, you still hear the sound. You notice it
s coming from your front door, but its 3 A.M. on a school night. The hairs on the back of your
neck begin to rise and your heart beats faster, wondering who is violently knocking on your front
door. You remember the incident at your store where a brick was thrown through the window and
how you angered the community by canceling a game and blemishing a season with such a
historical start. You pull the shade back on the front door, revealing not an angered parent, but
Timo Cruz, once a player on your basketballteam that you haven t seen for weeks, covered in
blood. You hastily unlatch the door and invite him in. At first sight, he begins muttering the events
leading up to him now covered in his cousin s blood. He tells how he scared off some bullies for
the other players on the basketball team with the gun in his waistline, but only to witness his cousin

Medical Ethics And Medicine Ethics
Medical profession has always been an occupation of helping and healing people and medical
ethics have become an inseparable part of it for decades. The first advanced concepts of medical
ethics, which have reached our modern world from the depths of centuries, were recorded in an
ancient Indian book Ayurveda (which translates as Knowledge of life, Science of life ). The book
has summarized the concepts of medical ethics, along with the instructions for a doctor to be
compassionate, friendly, kind, enduring, calm and to care about people. Even with the price of his
/her own life the doctor must protect and improve patient s health stated in the book. Further
improvements were made to medical ethics later in ancient Greece and concepts were summarized
in Hippocratic oath .
Unfortunately, not all the doctors follow the concepts of medical ethics. Nowadays there are
hundreds and hundreds of medical ethics cases around the world and we will try to analyze a
particular one in a particular country.

Examples Of Stereotyping In Grendel
In chapter four, Grendel brings a corpse to the mead hall and attempts to shows his sympathy to
the dead man by saying, Mercy! Peace! (Gardner 51). He also said, Friend! Friend! (Gardner 52),
he tries to be friends with human by showing his sorrow. However, people in the meadhall think
that Grendel kills the man and he brings to the corpse to show off his strength and warns
mankind to stay away, people sees Grendel as a threat to them. People misunderstand Grendel s
because of Grendel s appearance, Grendel looks like a monster, and monster is always evil and
violent in human s perspective, they judge solely base on one s appearance, thus they are
stereotyping Grendel. Stereotyping is a very common phenomenon in today society, people tend
to impose everything that they acknowledged about a specific kind of people on to every one of
them, we categorized people by their skin colors, sex, religions, cultural background, etc. I have
seen a lot of examples of stereotyping in school community, when people say, That s so Asian

Wuthering Heights Weather Essay
In Emily Bronte s masterpiece, Wuthering Heights, weather plays an enormous role in setting
atmosphere, helping us understand her characters, and showing emotion. Wuthering heights
portrays the moors of England as very mystic and wild through its stormy weather. Ellen shows this
by narrating, There was no moon, and everything beneath lay in misty darkness: not a light gleamed
from any house, far or near all had been extinguished long ago: and those at Wuthering Heights
were never visible [from Thrushcross Grange] still she asserted she caught their shining. Look! she

with little soft tapers. (47). The light shines on the calm area of Thrushcross Grange, setting up a
completely different atmosphere from Wuthering Heights and carries very different symbolic
meaning, showing how the Lintons are foils fo Cathy and Heathcliff, as they are civilized. The
Linton are raised in a very cultivated society, one that not allow room for the savageness of

she loves Heathcliff, she must marry the more respectable Edgar Linton, a storm is brewing

Bhagavad Gita The Holy Book Of Hindus
Bhagavad gita the holy book of hindus, is one of the major literature work from India to the entire
mankind. Gita can be read by the people of all religions. It was narrated by Lord Krishna to prince
Arjuna in Mahabharatha. The narration happens in the battlefield of kurukshethra. Arjuna was to
fight against his cousins kauravas in the war, which he was not able to do because of family
bonding, this is when Krishnaexplains him the purpose of life and the way to attain eternity. In
bhagavad gitaKrishna explains how the entire cycle of life works and what a person should do to
attain eternity. Though the gita was narrated 5000 years ago, it is still relevant to the modern age
life of mankind and guides us to eternity, this is explained in this thesis statement. Gita on Family
bonding:
In the first chapter of gita when Arjuna hesitates to fight against his cousins, Krishna explains him
about the family bonding. He says that only when a person comes out of the family bonding and
does his duty properly he will be able to attain eternity. He explains the aim of Arjuna s birth.
Arjuna was born to fight this battle and destroy the evil. He has to see the evil in the kauravas,
instead of seeing them as his cousin brothers. Only then he can fight the evil and destroy it.
Krishna clearly explains why family bonding should not be a hurdle in doing ones duties. This is
true in this current age of mankind also. Though we don t have situations to fight war against our
family members,

short episodes of the Bible stories in cartoon style. Then, for this assignments I decided to use a
couple movies that I have watched in the past: The Bible as a television miniseries Spanish version,
and the movie Son of God. I identified the following characters for their participation in the movies.
1. ADAM Sendhil Ramamurthy
Sendhil Ramamurthy was born in Chicago, Illinois, in May 17, 1974. He is an American actor. He
is best known for his roles as geneticist Mohinder Suresh in the NBC sci fi drama Heroes and Jai
Wilcox in the action spy series Covert Affairs. He appeared as Abhay in the Indian film Shor in
the City. He played Gabriel Lowen in The CW sci fi romance series Beauty the Beast. He went to
Keystone School and graduated in 1991. Ramamurthy is married to actress Olga Sosnovska with
two children, daughter Halina and son Alex, and lives in London.
He played the role of Adam in the Mini Series In the Beginning (2000)

Unit 207 Understand Person Centred Approaches Essays
Unit 207 Understand person centred approaches in adult social care settings.
Outcome 1 Understand person centred approaches for care and support.
1.1 Define Person centred values.
Person centred values means the people whom we support are treated as equals and are involved
in all aspects and areas of their care and that they are respected and valued as individuals. This
means being involved in their assessments, care delivery and support planning, basically person
centred values is making sure all approaches, policies and procedures and care practices put the
residents at the centre of the day to day activities. It should also include the residents and their
families in the planning and maintaining of this.
1.2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The development of a support plan is the perfect example of how person centred working operates.
Instead offering people a choice of what is currently available and finding what best fits their
needs, person centred working looks at someone s needs and built the support package around
them. One of the important aspects of person centred planning is to look at what people are able
to do for themselves and to ensure that services are not taking over aspects of a person s life that
they could perfectly well manage without support.
Outcome 3 Understand the importance of establishing consent when providing care or support.
3.1 Define the word consent
Consent is the informed agreement to an action and/or decision. Permission for something to
happen or agreement to do something.
3.2 Explain the importance of gaining consent when providing care or support.
When working with an individual it is important to uphold their rights to be fully involved in their
own care, whilst adhering to legal requirements. It is also the individuals right to refuse any care,
support or treatment they do not want. It is also essential that people not only give you their
consent but also that they understand what they are consenting to and the implications of this.
Gaining consent protects not just the career but the individual receiving the care and support as
well. If no consent is given then you cannot proceed with the care. It is illegal to pressure anyone

Hierarchies In The Workplace
What are the reasons that hierarchies emerge in organizations? What about the roles and the nature
of this emergence? Does this aid in structuring these organizations/work areas? In this essay, I will
be relating the description of activities that take place in an early industrial pin factory from Adam
Smith s Wealth of Nations to the organizing and structuring of work. The relation will be described
done by examining the division and specialization of labour, requirements that lead to the need for
coordination, Horizontal and Vertical Differentiation required for coordination and how structure/
hierarchyarises and if it is in fact needed.
We can see that through the division and specialization of labour that Adam Smiths pin factory ...

Just as the pin factory example showed, the one task of creating a pin was broken down into
multiple roles/subunits (Horizontal Differentiation) and just as these tasks can be simplified and
more efficient by dividing them into roles and subunits, they need to people coordinate them. These
people can range from a simple manager of a subunit, all the way to the owner of the organization,
creating an organizational hierarchy (Vertical Differentiation). When these processes and forms of
coordination work together, this is what drives the building of the organization as a whole. The
extent of which is determined by the organizations structure.
Structure and hierarchy come from how work and the work processes are coordinated together and
relating how tasks and coordination of these tasks is to be obtained. When determining the authority
in the structure of an organization, there are two major options, centralized and decentralized. A
centralized organizational setup is where the authority to make important decisions is retained by
managers at the top of the created hierarchy whereas a decentralized organizational setup is where
the authority to make important decisions about organizational resources and to initiate new
projects is delegated to managers at all levels in the hierarchy. Each choice is made based upon the
main goal/task of the organization and what would better fit the organization. Whether work/the

Analysis Of Prince Hamlet By William Shakespeare
Jean Jacques Rousseau stated that: man is born free; but everywhere he lives in chains . This
suggests humankind is only free at the moment of birth and thereafter they live their lives
chained down by forces working to hold them back from being who they truly are. Every man
and women are shaped not by their freedoms, but by their limitations. This is evident in all types
of literature and from observation of the world we live in now. However, I have chosen to analyze
Prince Hamletin Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Winston Smith in 1984 by George Orwell and
lastly The Man in The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Throughout the entirety of Hamlet. Hamlet is
shaped into a vengeful murderer unable to love or to act sanely due to his father s ghost... Show

He then goes on to justify the murder by saying A bloody deed. Almost as bad, good mother, As
kill a king and marry with his brother. (3.4, 33) this shows that Hamlet has become completely
discounted from the real world and only care about revenge for his father because of the insanity
brought on from the chain of his father s murder. 1984 is similar to Hamlet in the way that the
main character Winston Smith is also chained down by the loss of family, guilt and a longing
for love and freedom. During the second part of 1984 Winston has a dream about the days when
his mother and sister were still alive and the three of them were seeking shelter in air raid
bunkers when a chocolate ration was distributed, Winston however thought all the chocolate
should be for him and steal the chocolate from his little sister and runs, his mother yells after
him: Winston, Winston! Come back! Give your sister back her chocolate (Orwell, 170) but he
does not come back for a few hours, and when he does his mother and sister are gone. This
tragedy chains Winston down for years subconsciously tearing him apart and changing how he
views himself because he believes he killed his mother and sister. Throughout the book Winston
talks about the way he must act and the way he must talk if he does not want to be killed or put
into a forced labor camp. This constant micro managing of Winston causes him to break certain
rules and he eventually ventures into the proles(The lowest class of human)

MEditerranean Desertification And Land USe (MEDALUS) project is one of the largest project
of the European Comission established to analyse the global and regional climate changes. The
MEDALUS model (Kosmas et al.1999) identifies regions that are environmentally sensitive area
(ESAs). In this model, different types of ESAs to desertification can be analysed in terms of
various parameters such as landforms, soil, geology, vegetation, climate, and human actions. Each
of these parameters is grouped into various uniform classes and a weighting factor is assigned to
each class. Then four layers are evaluated: soil quality, climate quality, vegetation quality, and
management quality. As outlined by Kosmas et al. (1999) and Brandt et al. (2003), the method
should be reasonably simple, robust and widely applicable; the selection of parameters to assess
environmental quality must be made attending to their availability, economy and ability to update
and the system should be adaptable to the development and refinement of the existing information

Dying of the light is also a symbol for death. The second stanza is addressed to wise men who
know they cannot hide from death and it s inevitability. Poetic techniques used in this stanza are
metaphors, rhyme, symbols and repetition. The line words had forked no lightning is a
metaphor because words cannot actually fork lightning. This line suggests that the men hadn t
made an impact on the world, nor accomplished all they wanted to in life. Rhyming is also a
technique used in every line, right and night are rhyming words used, and they in the second
line rhymes with day in the previous stanza. So night , light and right rhyme, and day and they
rhyme, hence the ABA ABA rhyming pattern. The third poetic device used in the second stanza
is symbolism of dark in the first line, which represents death. Repetition of do not go gentle into

500th anniversary of the birth of Calvin, which many Bible conferences around the world are
already preparing for next year. Calvin entered the University Of Paris at the age of 14, and
mastered almost everything he turned his attention to, including a brilliant writing style and
masterful skill in logic and logical argument. At the age of 19, he graduated with his Master of
Arts degree. And at the age of 22, he mastered a classical literature and published his first literary
commentary. It was no brainer that classical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is very obvious when you read through his expositional commentaries on the Bible. However,
for many centuries prior to the Reformation, the typical hermeneutical methods were allegorizing
and spiritualizing the text. Having such methods, the church can say about anything she wants to
believe what the Bible says and means. Such hermeneutical gymnastics was a license for much of
ecclesiastical abuses. But for Calvin, the meaning of the text was the meaning of the text. What
drove him to handle the Word with such precision was due to his commitment to biblical exegesis.
In fact, he is considered the father of the modern day grammatico historical method of hermeneutics.
To answer what grammatical historical hermeneutics is, it is simply an interpreting rule in which
the interpreter considers the historical context and grammatical structure for the specific text that
he wishes to understand the way that the biblical author originally intended to convey. Calvin
understood that without the proper exegesis of Scripture, there is no expositional preaching. In
other words, biblical exegesis is the foundational work for proper expository

Pompeii Triclinium
Within the historical context, a triclinium is a room in the Roman house with three couches for
dinning purpose. In Source A, the primary evidence of a triclinium in the House of the
Cryptoporticus suggests its provanace in Pompeii which may help an historian to identify and
understand its fuction, therefore highlighting the dinning aspect of people in Pompeii. The size,
architecture and decor of the triclinium demonstrate the key role that it played in displaying the
wealth of the host. The triclinium was often the largest and most sumptuous of the reception areas
in the house. Complex architectural designs such as an interior colonnade could make the room
particularly luxurious. The walls of the triclinium were often decorated with paintings done in
fresco or in tempera or with mosaics. Though the poor... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The source being primary is reliable if an historian is focusing on the dining environment of a
private house and also helps to study about the social interactions among family members and the
guests. The corroboration with other archaeological sources such as Villa Murecine near Pompeii
may help an historian to recontruct the archtitecture of the triclinium. An example of the recreation
of dining couches in the famous Villa of the Mysteries shows how guest and host beds permitted a
view out the main doorway and in this case also into a peristyle at right while the less important
diners could only see the opulent wall paintings that decorated Roman triclinia. Digital
reconstruction of the triclinium of the Villa of the Mysteries has improved historians, scholars and
students understanding of its structure and use, however, many scholars argue on the basis of its
bais reconstruction as it is an artistic impression of a triclinium which may not help in

Definition Of Love
We all have different opinions on love whether it exists or not. A certain number of people in the
world believe in love . The ones that don t believe it exists all have one concept on how love
works but different meaning. In other words, they all phrase it differently but come up with the
same conclusion. The same goes for the ones that do believe in it, the only difference is that they
have the same concept and meaning. There is no such thing as lovefor if there were why do our
loved ones abuse us, frame us, or even lieto us in our faces or about us. Love, people say as they
beat us to plump saying it s for our own good. We tell people to leave their husband, fiance or even
their family because it s not safe to be there. Do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That s what we need to figure out by our self, but while we are at it. When we are dating someone
we should ask our self this Do I trust that person to the whole existence of my heart? Can I trust
them to not cheat, lie, frame or beat/abuse me? If we took a while to think about it, then we don
t love them or trust them. Love ain t love without trust, too bad once I trusted everyone and loved
everyone but now the max I feel is like. There is no such notion as love because to be honest can
someone really tell me what it is without looking it up or going off of what everyone had told us or
thought. Can we say I can lie and die for my family, or that I won t rat them out for a billion
dollars? Some say they can but truth be told we all will do it in a heartbeat because we are selfish
creatures. Love only exist in fairy tales just like magic, there s no such notion or will ever be. We as
the world are all delusional, we think we love someone because of these lies being passed down
from generation to generation. Just so we can spend more money on people or make people believe
they ain t worthy of such great love . Seriously, can we honestly say love is so great, no because it
s not and it is just an excuse some use to cover up an obsession of someone else? Or to help us get
out of our shell to be a better version of our self. Hence, the real reason someone says they love us
is so we can help them with something, but we as people are so gullible that we fall for it. One day
the world will know and realize, that love doesn t exist. Then that will be the day the whole world

The Turning By Tim Winton Analysis
Tim Winton s novel the turning has 17 short stories throughout it. Some of these stories connect
through the character and theme in many ways. Two of Winton s stories that connect well through
character and theme are long clear view and damaged goods . This text will be analysing these two
short stories and showing how they connect by finding out what characters are the same or similar
and how the themes connect.
Winton s short story long clear view is about Vic Lang, a boy who has recently moved from the

Gendered Violence And The White Ribbon Campaign
Introduction
One of the largest issues in today s society is gendered violence. Gendered violence is violence
that occurs because of the role expectations associated with each gender, as well as the unequal
power relationships between the genders (Defining Gender Based Violence). The more common
form of this is violence against women. One campaign that is working diligently to try and
eliminate this problem is the White Ribbon Campaign. The White Ribbon Campaign is a
movement of boys and men working to end violence against females and promote gender equity.
The campaign asks men to wear white ribbons as a pledge to never commit, condone or remain
silent about violence against women and girls (White Ribbon). The White Ribbon Campaign has
been successful and effective in its efforts to educate men and boys about gendered violence and is
making headway in their pursuance of the end of violence against women.
The White Ribbon Campaign
The White Ribbon Campaign was began back in 1991. It was formed because of a group of men
who decided it was their responsibility to start involving men in the fight against violence against
women. They urged men to speak out and support this movement (Hobbs 188). The campaign looks
specifically at issues involving violence against women, as that is the main focus of the campaign.
The campaign uses a number of different forms of communication to spread the word of their
organization. They hold multiple conferences about related issues, they are

Organ Donation. “Organ Donation Is Not A Tragedy, But It
Organ Donation Organ donation is not a tragedy, but it can be a beautiful light, in the midst of
one (Unknown). There has been many disbeliefs about donating your organs over the years. The
organ demand drastically exceeds the available supply, which is why more people need to be
organ donors. People should become organ donors because of the limited availability of organs
and the chance to save many lives. Although many people think that if you are an organ donor
doctors won t try as hard to save your life, but that is not the case at all. According to an article
from World of Health A wish to donate organs for transplant will not reduce efforts to save a
patient s life. Organs will not be removed until all life saving efforts have... Show more content on

It is said that ВЁWhile about 80% of Americans support donation, there are fewer than 50% who
agree to organ donation if approached upon the death of a family memberВЁ (Organ Donation).
Doctors usually ask family members if it is okay to donate the organs, even if they say they are
donors on their licence. The opt out policy would allow you to donate your organs regardless of
your family members saying no when approached upon your death. An opt out policy is not the
only thing that we can do to help increase the number of available organs. Despite the fact it is
illegal to sell organs, to help increase the numbers of donors, some states are offering to pay the
family indirectly. If a family agrees to organ donation, Pennsylvania pays $300 directly to the
family s funeral home to help defray the cost of the funeral (Organ Donation). With some states
paying the family indirectly, there has been an increase in the number of donors. Being paid
indirectly helps the families immensely. Not only does this help with the costs, but it takes away
any stress they may have had about being able to afford the funeral. There s no question that a
change needs to be made to help improve the number of available organs. Last, becoming an
organ donor gives you a chance to save up to fifty lives. This quote When I look into their eyes, I

Summary Of I Am Legend Of The Fish Bowl By Richard Matheson
The stories that I choose from Richard Matheson s I am legend is buried talents, which
contained a horror theme of fear of the unknown. The story began with a man who dressed in a
wrinkled, black suit who has no facial expression walked into the carnival. He walked to one of
the booths that surrounded by cloud of people that playing a Ping Pong game. It was a game where
players throw Ping Pong into goldfishbowl to win a prize, which he quietly joined in later among
other players. In the beginning, no other players able to get the Ping Pong ball into the gold fish
bowl, no matter what techniques they used to threw the balls. After that, story started to build an
uncanny atmosphere towards the game operator when the strange man started to playthe Ping Pong
game as every Ping Pong ball that the man threw went straight into the bowl, every... Show more

In the previous part, we see that the black man pushed all his prized away and just want to keep
playing again and again. This gives us a good hint that something abnormal was going on and on
the very last paragraph of the story, the author mentioned that the game operator leans on the booth
and pressed both of his hands against his stomach, he felt like he was bleeding inside his stomach.
If we recalled in the earlier that the strange man in black suit managed to get every Ping Pong balls
into the fish bowl without any bouncing and such and now author foreshadowing that the game
operator felt that his stomach is bleeding, that gives us the unknown horror thoughts that maybe the
man has some kind of supernatural power that can put certain object into the place he want it to be.
Which conclude the story without straight out telling us whether if the strange man ahs the power
or he took the steak knives set away with him which brought us the read a sense of fear the

  • 2. Covert Action Definition Covert Action is any activity performed by U.S. government entities with the intent to influence another nations political, economic or military conditions, while the U.S. government role will not be known or acknowledged publicly. Thus, providing the United States plausible deniability is crucial to any covert action carried out by the U.S. government. However, as one can tell by the provided covert action definition, there are various forms of covert actions. This essay will discuss the various forms of covert action and assess each discussed covert actions utility and value in the modern era. Additionally, an example of one of the forms of covert action will be provided. Political propaganda is one form of covert action. The intent of political propaganda is to influence a nations citizens regarding the nation s politicians, economy, political situation, and/or military threats. This is accomplished by publish false statements in newspapers, magazine, books, and other forms of publication. However, unlike political propaganda covert actions, political activities covert actions can still be successful in today s world. This is primarily because in the areas where the United States would utilize such covert actions, those nations typically blame the United States anytime a particular political activity does not goes as planned. For some women, pregnancy can precipitate diabetes causing numerous subsequent lifelong complications for both the mother and her fetus/newborn. The previous shocking statistic is just one of the many reasons why implementing evidence based practice (EBP) protocols is an essential aspect in providing great patient care. In addition, EBP is crucial in improving patient outcomes while decreasing negative outcomes that can result in lifelong complications due to gestational diabetes. The process of establishing an EBP requires research to be critically appraised before it could be used... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (2015) descriptive studies often provide initial knowledge, which serves as a basis for generating quasi experimental and outcomes studies (p. 25). With the new insight gained through the study, future studies could be done to see if this finding could be manipulated and replicated to produce stronger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout the entire book (The Notebook) many characteristics are revealed about her. A bedroom for her would have to be vibrant and full of life just like her. Growing up with money, she is very classy so the room would have to reflect that. She s an easy to predict person, plotting the perfect room for her can easily be done. The walls would have to be a beautiful, light pastel color, nothing bright or absurd to offset the class of the room. A color that s elegant and soft such as a powder pink. • 5. Essay about Campbell Soup Company Audit Campbell Soup Company Background Campbell was founded shortly before the start of the Civil War. Abraham Anderson and Joseph Campbell began manufacturing canned vegetables and fruit preserves. In 1976, Campbell bought out Anderson s interest and renamed the firm the Joseph Campbell Preserving Company. Later, Arthur Dorrance was Campbell s new partner. In the early 1920s, John Dorrance, Arthur Dorrance s nephew, was the sole owner of the Campbell Soup Company, which was the largest producer of canned soup products. Unfortunately, as the twentieth century was coming to a close, the nation s appetite for condensed soup products was waning. The weakening demand prompted the company s executives to use an assortment of questionable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These practices are trade loading, improper accounting for loading discounts, shipping to the yard, and guaranteed sales. Trade Loading Campbell offered sizable trade discounts near the end of accounting period to entice customers to make product purchases that they would otherwise defer. By this way, a company can use price concessions to prop up its reported revenues and profits. Plaintiffs pointed out that PwC auditors were aware of the excessive trade loading by their client and this should have been a red flag for PwC to investigate the possibility that their client was fraudulently misrepresenting its operating results. The judge agree with the plaintiffs that PwC s workpapers revealed the firm was aware of Campbell s disproportionately sales near the end of quarterly reporting periods. However, the he disagreed with the assertion that PwC should have considered those heavy sales a red flag. Instead, he pointed out that PwC s workpapers referred to the large, period ending sales as a traditional trend in Campbell s operating results. This traditional trend may apply to Campbell s business environment, but may not to other industry. An auditor had better understand the industry environment he or she involves in to judge whether disproportionately sales near the end of quarterly reporting periods are normal or not. Improper Accounting for Loading Discount Whether PwC would remain a defendant was whether the audit firm realized that large ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Age Related Macular Degeneration ( Amd ) Age related macular degeneration (AMD) is a clinical condition in which there is a progressive decrease in central vision. There are two forms of macular degeneration, dry/nonexudative and wet /exudative, and these differ in fundal findings and treatment options. Dry macular degeneration is due to accumulation of drusen between the retinal pigment epithelium and Bruch s membrane and eventually progresses to geographic atrophy. Geographic atrophy refers to loss of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and photoreceptors. Wet macular degeneration, comprising up to 80% of cases of macular degeneration, is due to neovascularization forming choroidal neovascular membranes, which are unstable vessels leading to an array of complications including... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One important direction of research was the association drawn between complement Factor H and macular degeneration, which proposed that macular degeneration could be considered a much broader systemic vascular disease. Factor H is a glycoprotein that aids in the inhibiting the activation of the alternate pathway to prevent the host from activating the immune response towards self antigens. The association between factor H and macular degeneration is so great that a homozygous single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) can increase the risk of developing age related macular degeneration by seven fold and even a heterozygous SNP can increase the risk two to three fold. Furthermore, deletions in the genes for complement factor H related 1 and 3, which compete with factor H for binding sites, have been demonstrated to protect against age related macular degeneration by increasing the amount of binding sites available for complement factor H to bind to the vasculature. Factor H has even been shown to be actively synthesized by the RPE; gene products were generated from cultured RPE and real time RT PCR established that transcripts for factor H were abundant in the RPE. The association is even clearer when clinically examining patients with Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis II in which there is a deficiency in factor H. These patients develop early onset drusen on fundal examination. Most importantly, the association found between factor H and AMD stirred ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many qualities that make a company successful. Two examples of how successful companies demonstrate what it means to be a successful is by who they are, as well as how they achieved a world class performance level in their respective industries. This also includes their ability to achieve sustainability through the use of modern management practices. Measuring Cytotoxicity On Cancer Cells Measuring Cytotoxicity on Cancer Cells by Inhibiting the Reduction of 3 (4, 5 dimethylthiazolyl 2) 2, 5 diphenyltetrazolium bromide to generate NADH and NADPH Abstract: Chemotherapy is a well known treatment when it comes to treating cancer, however the drugs are often non specific and can end up damaging perfectly healthy cells, leaving the patient in agony, or not achieve anything. In this study we looks into the area of personalised medicine where different drugs are used for different patients with the same cancer dependent upon the effects this drug will have. Two chemotherapeutic agents, named A and B, were used to prevent the cell proliferating and therefore stop the cancer progressing and surviving as the cells starve to death. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Radiotherapy was the first method non surgical method used to cure cancer around 100 years ago and was, up until recently, the most common way to do so (http://cancerres.aacrjournals.org/content /68/21/8643.full.html). The basis is simple, an ionising beam is fired at the tumorous cells to alter those cells DNA. The mutations are fatal and the cells die, therefore curing the cancer, however many healthy cells around that tumour also get mutated and can also die in the process so there can be some severe side effects from radiotherapy. Chemotherapy was invented around 40 years later (same guy unfortunately to link) in 1935 but due to lack of progress it was dismissed until the 1960 s when there was proof that it actually could cure cancer and not just relieve certain symptoms but do nothing else. Whilst radiotherapy is still the most common treatment of cancers chemotherapy is now a treatment almost everyone will have heard of and is a growing field in an attempt to cure cancer with various drugs while minimising the side effects some of these drugs can have. • 9. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy And Mental Health Disorders... Introduction Struggling with depression during adolescence stage constantly wondered me what clinical approach can treat depression. Rather than relying on medications, clinical therapies are more effective to cure a variety of mental disorders. Although there are numerous psychological and physiological treatments to cure depression, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [CBT] will effectively treat depression as well as other mental health problems. Commonly used by most mental health experts, cognitive behavioral therapy is a short term, problem focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and subsequent behavior patterns and actions. (GoodTherapy.org) Thus, cognitive behavioral therapy is an adequate model practice for practitioners to treat not only depressed disorders but also other mental health disorders. History As stated in Psych Central and Beck Institute, with the long historical roots, CBT was established by Aaron T. Beck in the 1960s. (Beck Institute) After Sigmund Freud s experimental psychology and the influence of behaviorism, Behavior Therapy was first introduced to reduce problematic manifestations of behavior by using well defined and strictly validated scientific principle techniques which expanded to mind body psychotherapy (Psych Central) To be specific, in 1920s, operant conditioning, classical conditioning and social learning theory were utilized by numerous psychologist to ... • 10. Instinct A By Henry Carpenter Summary In Extract A, Carpenter suggests that Henry s lack of experience in the administrative running of a country, his rapacity and his bias against the nobles lead to the relationship between the King and the nobility being undermined. A convincing point that Carpenter provides is that Henry had no experience of running a country. Having spent fourteen years in exile in Brittany, he had not grown up amongst the nobles in the English royal courts, and therefore this not only diminished his experience of administration but also separated him from the English nobility. This created a great dependence upon the guidance of others, as he had no past knowledge of how to run a country. The extract is also convincing because it argues that Henry greatly restricted the powers of the nobility. With previous monarchs, the nobility had a great amount of power, however, with Henry, it was very different. Being a noble did not guarantee power or closeness to the king, and, in fact, by the end of his reign, Henry had retreated so far from the nobility that, essentially, their only role was to be part of the magnificance of court life. Henry gave a voice to the middle classes new men , as they were known, became greatly politically active, whereas the nobility had an obligation of loyalty being forced upon them. One forgets the civility that is drilled into their minds from birth and relies on human instinct to survive. This is what the boys in Lord of the Flies experience when they find themselves stranded on a deserted island without any contact with the outside world. They have to depend on each other to survive. While one group relies on human instinct and savagery in the face of danger and fear, the other wants to hold onto civilization, but in the heat of the moment, fear strips their civility away as well. The planet (and Walt Disney s beloved character) holds a special place in a lot of people s hearts. Yet, this only became clear to me after reading The Pluto Files by Neil deGrasse Tyson. I remember when Pluto s classification changed from being a planetto a dwarf planet however, I was never aware of how big of a controversy it caused. The fact that there was a conference deciding whether or not we should keep Pluto as our ninth planet was not something I was aware of previously to this book. Tyson does a wonderful job explaining the story of Pluto and not only the how the planet was reclassified but also why. As we spoke about in class Pluto does not really fit into the categories of being a planet, this was one of the major arguments as to why Pluto should not be considered our nineth planet anymore. I believe that it is interesting that some people were trying to then create a classification specifically for Pluto. However, this obviously did not come to be as there must be more than one of something in order for it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What is surprising is how people reacted and continue to over the decision. I agree with Tyson when he says Find quote about Pluto being the smallest planet and largest dwarf planet Yet, it is surprising that a lot of people do not feel this way. Why are people so emotionally attached to an object that is billions of miles away? Is it because it was one of the easier planets to remember in the solar system? Or perhaps it was because it was the smallest and people tend to cheer for the underdog. No doubt Disney s fun, loving pup had some help in the matter as well. Whatever the case people feel strongly enough about the issue to write Tyson personally about the regrouping of their favorite planet. Comparing the 1929 Market Crash and the Current Position in the Stock Market During the 1920 s, the North American economy was roaring, but this decade would eventually be put to a stop. In October of 1929, the stock market began its steepest decline to this date in history. Many stock market traders and economists believe and pray that it was a one shot episode never to be repeated. On the other hand, many financial analysts and other economists believe that the current stock markets are in place to repeat the calamitous errors of the 1920 s. Marius s moods change though according to his circumstances, so he doesn t always recognize what she is feeling. When Cosette leaves for Paris, Marius asks Eponine to find Cosette s address. Analysis of the Translation of the Analects of Confucius Jpz777 04/29/2013 Order # 2094035 In an authoritative and widely cited translation of the Analects of Confucius originally published in 1938, celebrated English sinologist Arthur Waley provided the most comprehensive explication of this enduring contribution to humanistic philosophy, one which has since been continually reprinted for scholarly study. An anthology of short yet powerful passages which capture the beliefs taught by Confucius during his lifetime, the Analects offers a fluid recreation of Confucius and his associated teachings, through the prism provided by the evolving structure of the school of thought created. Beginning with a sober deconstruction of the mythologizing which has come to define the Western conception of Confucius, of whom Waley states it appears from the Analects that he was a private person who trained the sons of gentlemen in the virtues proper to a member of the ruling class (14), this translation offers modern readers with an comprehensive and historically accurate interpretation of the Analects, and their influence on the resulting system of moral mastery known as Confucianism. Spreading slowly but steadily throughout China after the original texts comprising the Analects was compiled by Confucius pupils in approximately 300 BCE, the philosophy of social and political ethics espoused in these twenty books developed into a combination of religious dogma and ruling doctrine. By making the reader see Helen through Penelope s eyes, new layers are added to this character so often sought after. Helen and Penelope s dynamic adds a layer to not only The Penelopiad, but also to the male dominated Odyssey. These factors create a dynamic feminine force, and both women are in multiple ways a foil to one another. Many of Penelopes insecurities comes from her own view of herself and the way her experiences have shaped her. At the very beginning of the novel she says Hadn t I been faithful? This means being involved in their assessments, care delivery and support planning, basically person centred values is making sure all approaches, policies and procedures and care practices put the residents at the centre of the day to day activities. Instead offering people a choice of what is currently available and finding what best fits their needs, person centred working looks at someone s needs and built the support package around them. One of the important aspects of person centred planning is to look at what people are able to do for themselves and to ensure that services are not taking over aspects of a person s life that they could perfectly well manage without support. However, I have chosen to analyze Prince Hamletin Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Winston Smith in 1984 by George Orwell and lastly The Man in The Road by Cormac McCarthy. During the second part of 1984 Winston has a dream about the days when his mother and sister were still alive and the three of them were seeking shelter in air raid bunkers when a chocolate ration was distributed, Winston however thought all the chocolate should be for him and steal the chocolate from his little sister and runs, his mother yells after him: Winston, Winston! They considered an Environmental Sensitive Area as a specific and delimited entity in which environmental and socio economical factors are not balanced or are not sustainable for that particular environment. Among the different parameters they analysed were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... MEditerranean Desertification And Land USe (MEDALUS) project is one of the largest project of the European Comission established to analyse the global and regional climate changes. The MEDALUS model (Kosmas et al.1999) identifies regions that are environmentally sensitive area (ESAs). In this model, different types of ESAs to desertification can be analysed in terms of various parameters such as landforms, soil, geology, vegetation, climate, and human actions. Each of these parameters is grouped into various uniform classes and a weighting factor is assigned to each class. Then four layers are evaluated: soil quality, climate quality, vegetation quality, and management quality. As outlined by Kosmas et al. (1999) and Brandt et al. (2003), the method should be reasonably simple, robust and widely applicable; the selection of parameters to assess environmental quality must be made attending to their availability, economy and ability to update and the system should be adaptable to the development and refinement of the existing information content and the possible addition of new information. The principal innovation which was brought in to the study by Kirkby et al. (1998) in their study of MEDALUS was long term interactions with the vegetation and soil, with implications for the way in which the surface flow and infiltration are described and distributed area wise. The model contains four inter related sub models for the atmosphere, vegetation, soil and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good NightFinn Andersson Dylan Thomas Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas explores death and how those facing it should fight for their lives because death is a heartbreaking subject to him. The writer is addressing his father and pleads him to resist the power of death as it would be devastating if the father was to die from the writers perspective. Throughout the poem, Thomas writes about different traits of men. Some aspects include wise, wild, good and grave which helps create a poem that covers all aspects of a person. The first stanza is addressed to old men and how they should not simply slip away and die quietly, they should fight death until the end. Poetic techniques... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dying of the light is also a symbol for death. The second stanza is addressed to wise men who know they cannot hide from death and it s inevitability. Poetic techniques used in this stanza are metaphors, rhyme, symbols and repetition. The line words had forked no lightning is a metaphor because words cannot actually fork lightning. This line suggests that the men hadn t made an impact on the world, nor accomplished all they wanted to in life. Rhyming is also a technique used in every line, right and night are rhyming words used, and they in the second line rhymes with day in the previous stanza. So night , light and right rhyme, and day and they rhyme, hence the ABA ABA rhyming pattern. The third poetic device used in the second stanza is symbolism of dark in the first line, which represents death. Repetition of do not go gentle into that good night is repeated every second stanza as the ending line, night in the final line also symbolises death. The third stanza is addressed to good men who regret their choices in life and think of how much they could have achieved, if they had only had lived longer. Poetic techniques used in this stanza are personification, symbolism, repetition and rhyme. In the second line, we see the use of personification when Thomas writes of how their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay , referring to the good men . • 40. John Calvin s Influence On Church History What Influence did John Calvin have on Church History? John Calvin was born on July 10, 1509 at Noyon, in Picardy, which is the northern providence of France, located 60 miles northeast of Paris. If you do the math, next July of 2009 the Christendom would celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth of Calvin, which many Bible conferences around the world are already preparing for next year. Calvin entered the University Of Paris at the age of 14, and mastered almost everything he turned his attention to, including a brilliant writing style and masterful skill in logic and logical argument. At the age of 19, he graduated with his Master of Arts degree. And at the age of 22, he mastered a classical literature and published his first literary commentary. It was no brainer that classical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is very obvious when you read through his expositional commentaries on the Bible. However, for many centuries prior to the Reformation, the typical hermeneutical methods were allegorizing and spiritualizing the text. Having such methods, the church can say about anything she wants to believe what the Bible says and means. Such hermeneutical gymnastics was a license for much of ecclesiastical abuses. But for Calvin, the meaning of the text was the meaning of the text. What drove him to handle the Word with such precision was due to his commitment to biblical exegesis. In fact, he is considered the father of the modern day grammatico historical method of hermeneutics. To answer what grammatical historical hermeneutics is, it is simply an interpreting rule in which the interpreter considers the historical context and grammatical structure for the specific text that he wishes to understand the way that the biblical author originally intended to convey. Calvin understood that without the proper exegesis of Scripture, there is no expositional preaching. In other words, biblical exegesis is the foundational work for proper expository ... The size, architecture and decor of the triclinium demonstrate the key role that it played in displaying the wealth of the host. If we took a while to think about it, then we don t love them or trust them. Love ain t love without trust, too bad once I trusted everyone and loved everyone but now the max I feel is like. There is no such notion as love because to be honest can someone really tell me what it is without looking it up or going off of what everyone had told us or thought. Can we say I can lie and die for my family, or that I won t rat them out for a billion dollars? Some say they can but truth be told we all will do it in a heartbeat because we are selfish creatures. The opt out policy would allow you to donate your organs regardless of your family members saying no when approached upon your death. An opt out policy is not the only thing that we can do to help increase the number of available organs.
