Sarah Ruhl s play, Eurydice, is a devastating story battling love, grief, life, and death. Although it
is set during the 1950 s, the play manages to encompass the ancient Greek myth of Eurydice and
Orpheus. The three most evident themes of this play are recurring death, fleeting happiness, and
the power of love. The main conflict in this play is ultimately about the painful choice that comes
with death; this is often caused by the King of the Underworld. One of the most impressive parts
of this play is the ability to change the way the play is perceived through design.
When I envision this play in my head and through my concept, I view the characters in the living
world to have bright normal costumes. For Example, I can see Eurydice in sundresses and Orpheus
in spring colored button up shirts and pants. This would represent the love and happiness they
have for each other. On the other hand, when I think about costumes in the underworld, I believe
they would need to be a little bit darker and quirky to represent the hard choices and confusion
that death has pushed upon them. I think Eurydice s father should be wearing a dark suit with a
crazy tie and no shoes. When both Eurydice and Orpheus arrive in the underworld their clothes
should become darker and more sullen. I perceive the Stones as being deceased people from
different eras that have completely forgotten who they were, and have been brainwashed by
being dipped in the river and by the King of the Underworld. To represent this, their outfits need
to look extremely dull and dirty; they should be everyday clothes from their different time
periods. All three of their costumes should be torn and drained of all color. The Lord of the
Underworld needs to have multiple different costumes. In the world of the living, he needs to be
the darkest dressed; he should wear a black suit and tie. In the underworld, I envision him wearing
more of a boyish outfit, such as shorts, suspenders, and crazy socks. When he becomes a man and
grows to a superhuman high in the end, I would have him wear tall stilts under long dress pants

I.Introduction
There exist significant racial disparities in nursing home (NH) care quality. Although some
improvements have been made in recent years, Blacks are still more likely to receive
suboptimal care in this setting, compared to Whites (1). Blacks are also more likely to be
admitted to poorer quality NH s than Whites (2). There also tend to be racial disparities in
psychosocial well being among NH residents, as determined by lower social engagement among
Blacks versus Whites (3). These findings are particularly alarming provided that the proportion of
Blacks aged 65 and older who live in NH s has increased dramatically, while the number of Whites
in NH s has declined (4).
Multiple factors contribute to the disparities between Blacks and Whites in NH care quality. One
such factor is the lack of regulatory practices to curb racial discrimination in this setting. This paper
will propose a policy that aims to enforce and penalize Center for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) funded NH s that are in violation of current anti discriminatory laws. The proposed
policy would be passed and implemented at the federal government level, however it would also
require cooperation from public, state agencies.

I got my first camera at the age of eight; it was a blue Olympic digital camera. I used my camera
whenever I could. Ever since I was little I noticed the little things in life. The main thing I want
to do with my life is to be a world known photographer. I want to travel the world with my camera
and show the world how beautiful earth is. I started collecting old fashion cameras at the age of
twelve. I started collecting cameras because I liked the different styles and technology they came

the flashback. He is telling his flashback to Ann, a girl he s in love with. The time period is set
three years back and is narrated by Jeff. The flashback is the backbone of the movie because it
shows the audience how the whole situation started and ended. Over half the movie is told
through the flashback which is important because it shows that the character chooses to focus on
the past instead of the present. The flashback is told because Jeff is going to Lake Tahoe to
handle some unfinished business and he decides to let Ann in on the truth. Jeff was working for
Whit and was assigned to find the girl who stole Whit s money. The flashback goes into great
detail throughout the whole situation. The theme passion is shown when Jeff meets up with
Kathie. Soon enough he forgets all about getting the forty grand and returning Kathie to Whit. Jeff
fell for Kathie so they ran away to San Francisco. The characters in the flashback are shown to be
a litte edgy. Fore example, when Kathie first meets Jeff, she plays hard to get, pretending she is
uninterested in him. On the other hand, Jeff plays it smooth and doesn t let it faze him. The whole

After women got the right to vote in 1920, the most devoted members of the women s movement
focused on gaining other rights for women. Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, who had created the
National Women s Party in 1916 to work for women s suffrage, turned their efforts toward passing
the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). This amendment, which would make all forms of
discrimination based on sex illegal, did not receive significant support and never passed. Arguments
against the ERA, advocated by social reformers, such as Florence Kelley and Jane Addams, along
