The Realm Of Collegiate Athletics
The realm of collegiate athletics is made up of participants that hail from all walks of life. In many
instances the athletic programs that make up the university can be considered the most diverse
group on campus. The will to win largely attracts participants from every conceivable ethnic and
demographic background. The diversity and racial composition of athletic programs can provide
opportunities for athletes to learn about people who are different than themselves, help improve
interracial understanding, and help reduce prejudice among groups. Although diversity among
student athletes is a favorable goal, it is important that the coaches, athletic counselors, or anyone
working with student athletes have practices and procedures in place to immerse athletes within the
culture of collegiate athletics. The ability to succeed will be determined by the athlete and the
programs ability to function within a multilevel system that includes knowledge of the NCAA rules
and regulations, university policies, athletic department standards, and team dynamics (Fletcher,
2003). While there are many opportunities for student athletes to gain a cross racial understanding
from participating in team sports such as basketball, football, and track and field there can be
differences in racial diversity among sports. For instance, white college athletes comprise 68.3% of
the national populations in intercollegiate athletics at all levels (NCAA Division I, II, and III)
(NCAA, 2014). In the

Who Is Responding To The Wii

ЃABURDA Responding to
the Wii? Kazuo Hirai, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), had just
gotten off a conference call with journalists. It was late August 2008, and the reporters were
inquiring about Afrika, a new safari videogame for Sony s PlayStation 3 (PS3) console that
allowed players to watch wild animals and take virtual pictures. Hirai could not help feeling
frustrated. Most of the conversation like many others with Sony outsiders in the past month had
revolved around two questions: Was Afrika Sony s answer to the casual games that were partly
responsible for the runaway success of rival Nintendo s Wii videogame console? And more

448 Responding to the Wii? Market Birth, Collapse, and Rebirthb The videogame industry got
off to an uncertain start in 1972, when television maker Magnavox introduced Odyssey, the first
home videogame console. Priced at $100 (the equivalent of $516 in 2008 dollars),c Odyssey
needed a television screen to project its very limited action. The system came with 12 games,
including versions of tennis and ping pong, each on a printed circuit board.5 However, partly
due to some uninspired marketing and distribution decisions, Odyssey s appeal proved limited.
Magnavox sold more than 100,000 game systems by year end, but sales quickly declined and
Odyssey was pulled from the market.6 Enter Atari Around the same time, a young entrepreneur
named Nolan Bushnell was developing arcade games with the use of then new microprocessor
technology.7 In 1972, the company he started, Atari, launched its first hit game an arcade version
of ping pong.8 In Pong, two players batted a ball of light back and forth between on screen
paddles. The game instructions were simple: Avoid missing ball for high score. 9 Pong was an
immediate success: 8,500 arcade consoles were sold in the first year.10 Bushnell

What Role Did Roden Play In The Theology Of The Davidians
Houteff bought a plot of land and moved outside Waco, Texas, bringing just under a hundred
followers with him and thereby establishing the Davidian sect. They built a variety of buildings and
named the location Mount Carmel after the mount where Elijah overcame the prophets of Baal. On
a side note, this Mount Carmel was different from the one involved in the Branch Davidianinferno.
Houteff did not want to break away from the Seventh day Adventism and continued to view his
evangelistic message as directed to the Adventist church. Seventh day Adventism continued to play
a major role in the theology of the Davidians though their relationship was bitter. The Davidian sect
grew and although Houteff died in 1955, his wife Florence became... Show more content on

Roden affirmed the leadership of Victor and Ellen White and especially the need for a righteous
remnant. Roden is responsible for the adoption of the name Branch, claiming it as the new name
of Christ according to Isaiah 11:1. The Davidians, under Roden, became the Branch Davidians.
Roden implemented observance of Old Testament festivals, which wasn t a big leap from strict
Sabbath practice. He was also incredibly passionate about Israel and attempted to establish a
group of Davidians within Israel. If they were able to move the Davidians to Israel, they would
be one step closer to the millennium and their final earthly dwelling place. Under Roden, Branch
Davidians believed that the truth of God would proceed from Jerusalem and since they contained
the truth of God, it was necessary that they move to Israel. Unfortunately, Roden s dream was
never completely actualized and upon his death in 1978, his wife Lois Roden assumed leadership
of the Branch Davidians. Unlike Florence Houteff, Lois Roden received visions prior to the death
of her husband and was even considered a prophetess, whereas Florence was just considered the
leader. As the prophetic voice of the Branch Davidians, she formulated new theology, the most
important being that the Holy Spirit is feminine. According to her, the notion of Father and Son in

Hands On Training Program
BBT should implement a hands on training program to facilitate learning transfer. A hands on
training method is tailored for job requiring a specific set of skills. Individuals can be trained
through a hands on learning program to ensure their success and ability to perform. BBT requires
individual repetition of skills to serve their customers and utilizing the following hands on
components: self directed learning, simulation, case studies, and an apprenticeship will increase
retention.
Self directed learning creates trainee empowerment. Motivation is key for the success of self
directed learning and BBT will need to explain how trainees can best utilize this learning process.
Content that is relevant to the job tasks need to be developed outlining learning outcomes and be
easily accessible. Trainers can facilitate and assist the trainee if needed, but not required. Self
directed learning is a flexible component that promotes a motivated employee.

An apprenticeship is a combination of classroom and on the job experience. Minimum hours are
established in federal and state laws to register as an apprenticeship program. Depending upon the
BBT training budget, and informal apprenticeship may be put into practice. The main benefit for
someone in an apprenticeship is the ability to be paid while learning a skill and BBT could leverage
this model to increase their skilled workforce. Suggesting a hands on training approach is an
effective method for BBT to train their bank tellers. Trainers will have multitude of training
components to coach and demonstrate, while empowering the trainee for success. Trainers can able
to determine if the trainee has mastered the skills needed before assigning them to their role. A
BBT training program incorporating a hands on approach will be beneficial to increase their

Impact Of Human Geography
The Impact Of Human Geography
Does physical or human geography have more of an impact on lives? The question has been
asked by many geographers and there are many strong examples for both sides. Human geography
plays a greater role in human development by changing the way people act by being more obedient
and having freedom and having a cultures that are unique , while physical geography is the outside
environment. The outside environment is not as important since humans are sheltered in homes.
People s culture make people s lifestyle different and unique. Cultural convergence is when one
culture comes in contact with another. This makes people have more diverse and and modern
cultures. Cultural convergence helps the spread of culture, like sports, which has led to the
development of the Olympics. The opposite of cultural convergence is cultural divergence, which is
the restriction of a culture coming in contact to other cultures and other influences. Because of
cultural divergence, there are still pure cultures, like in Africa. These cultures had to make
advancements ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A dictatorship is a type of government where one person leads the territory, and this person is
usually born into this position. An example of a dictatorship today is North Korea, which is
dictated by Kim Jong Un who uses fear to lead his country. This makes the people under the
dictator more obedient. When the leader is voted for by the citizens, that government is a called a
democracy. This lets the citizens have more control of the government. Democracy is important
because, leaders cannot abuse their power and become power hungry. Another type of government
is a monarchy, which is a government with a king, queen, or pharaoh. This is one of the first types
of government and influenced the government style of dictatorship. Monarchy created different
social classes Government changes the lifestyle of the leaders and the

an orphaned, isolated girl, living with a family that disapproves of her. As she grew, she exceled

Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyrestill raises relevant questions to readers; like (4) how abuse or unfair

A Christian Art Analysis
As I write this post, a recent memory springs up in my mind. Earlier this year, my dad had an art
show at the Steffen Thomas Museum focused on Christian Art. One afternoon, Chris and I
decided to go over there so I could look at his show. I am always amazed at my dad s art and this
was no exception. As we went from paintingto painting, I could not imagine the countless hours he
spent on each one of these paintings.
However, our trip did not last countless hours as I looked over 30 paintings in about twenty five
minutes. This was not due to my lack of interest, but more to my novice mindset towards art. Art
is similar to most skill activities in that people that are active in said activity can better
understand and articulate the small actions that lead to a great piece of art, a great football play,
or a great movie. I am embarrassed to say that I did not pay close enough attention to the
intricacies of my dad s art, but I accepted to write these articles in hopes I could learn more about
my dad s favorite past time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I first saw these two paintings side by side on Chris s website I could not distinguish if
one was just the finished product of the other. The first painting seems to have larger and thicker
brush strokes than the second which has more white spaces separating the strokes. Both
paintings are surrounded by a black box that has an opening on the northwest corner. The
opening could be an escape from whatever the black box contains. But I do not believe that the
box holds evil or Chris would have used a different color than a calming light blue. Imagine the
light blue being replaced by a dark red, the paintings would have a menacing feel to it. The shapes
inside the black box make the painting continue on and on like a hole going to

7 November 2017 Shrek The movie Shrek is a fairytale that you can watch with family. It s a
movie that not only entertains, but it also teaches valuable lessons. Shrek puts the viewers in awe
and gets them excited, so this movie is definitely worth watching! One of the main themes in this
movie is the acceptance of people for who they truly are. In this movie we witness a lot of
prejudice, or just assumptions. People assume that because someone looks a certain way that they
are dangerous. Appearances are deceiving, and this movie shows us exactly that. To begin, you
should all know that Shrek is not your normal fairytale. This movie brings in different characters
with different abilities and characteristics. For example, the main character is Shrek , an ogre
who is feared and seen as a threat by the entire village where he lives. Donkey is a friendly
donkey that has the ability to speak. Fiona is a princess who has been put in a castle with a
dragon and whose only way out is to be saved by a prince. The first setting of the movie is Shrek
s swamp and it starts with a riot of people from the village coming angrily to Shrek s swamp
angrily with torches and pitchforks. They are trying to invade his swamp so they get as many
people as they can to join the riot but their plan does not work out. Shrek ends up scaring
everyone and the people leave him alone for good because they know that they can t take over
his swamp or defeat him. Then, he sees a flyer announcing that fairytale creatures are wanted, but
he disregards the flyer; this will later have him astonished. The next setting is a nearby forest
where an auction is being held. The things being sold are the fairytale creatures; this is where we
are introduced to Donkey. As the auction takes place, Donkey is supposed to be sold because he
has the amazing ability of talking just like humans. He does not want to be sold or used for
entertainment. Therefore, when it is his turn to be sold, he is asked to talk but he doesn t. Lucky
for him Tinker Bell was nearby and some of her pixie dust fell on Donkey and he was able to fly
for a while. He made fun of the guy

Jeff Kennett Gargoyle:
The Jeff Kennet Gargoyle is above the Eastern Transept. When you look up you will see two
strange faces carved in stone! One is a lion, the other is a man.
Gargoyles in Gothic Cathedrals were once thought of as protecting the building from evil spirits,
they also serve as water spouts.
For years Jeff Kennet (a former premier) was rumoured to have been the model for the gargoyle, as
the facial features are so similar. Tom Carson (the master stonemason) said, just a whim but in
keeping with a centuries old tradition .
Mr Carson also said that stone makers use lots of people in positions of power as muses for their
gargoyles.
It took Mr Carson 6 weeks to make the gargoyle. Around the cathedral you will also notice lots of
other gargoyles resembling animals or creatures.
Memorial Tablets:
In the North Transept there are memorial tablets that commemorate the lives of archbishops that are
buried within the cathedral grounds.

Essay On Clarissa And Septimus
Although both Clarissa and Septimus are treated for different medical reasons, their society shows
how people are treated and how the medical industry and the government do not care fully enough
on these issues. Both characters put the thought of death into their stream of conscious.
Unfortunately, Septimus choose the suicidal route. So, what s the difference then? Society played a
huge role on both Septimus and Clarissa s decision in their life. The government and their society
put little to no importance on Septimus and his issues which led to his death. In Virginia Woolf s,
Mrs. Dalloway, she portrays the outlook on shell shocked veterans in the twentieth century. As for

Septimus s is viewed in society as a man who suffers from trauma from the war versus Clarissa,
who is described and an elegant woman that loves lavish parties and hanging around her friends.
Having both of the characters, Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith, Virginia Wolfe presents
how two different sides of society, the upper class and the middle class, can have and face very
similar pressures. Each scene describing their outlooks from within Virginia s eyes show a very
similar effect on the people who dwell within themselves.
Woolf says that Septimus is a spitting image of Clarissa as both share the same feelings about
their history with the medical industry. The both share a dark side that cast out to the reader their
personality from within. Even though Clarissa showed many similar qualities in regards to
Septimus, she decided upon herself to live as she has things to take care of in her life. Like
Septimus, Clarissa too suffers from the war. Even though they were both emotionally beaten to the
bone, Clarissa decided to stay where she s at while Septimus chose another route.
In the book Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf wanted to cast the social system and bash it for how it
worked. Her intricate focus is focusing not on the people, but on the morals of a certain class at a
certain historical moment.
Clarissa shares

There are a number of reasons why I joined TKE, but the main reason was brotherhood. While
rushing I saw how close everyone was, and while pledging I got an even deeper insight into that
sense of family. I personally love that sense of having someone there to not only watch my back,
but to support me in whatever I do. Brothers, who help me up when I get knocked down.
Brothers, who I can honestly and whole heartedly say that I would take a bullet for them and
who in reverse would do the same for me. Through pledging alone, I ve already gotten not only

and be pretty much like a family. The family atmosphere is my main reason for wanting to be a
brotherhood chair, because I enjoy seeing everyone come together and just having fun. I will
achieve this goal of being a brotherhood chair, by continuing to show dedication while helping
with brotherhood events, input some of my own ideas into possible brotherhood events and
overall prove myself to all the members that I am responsible and able to head brotherhood. My

It also symbolizes the blood that the martyrs have shed in the history of the rastas. The yellow
represents the wealth of the homeland. Green represents the beauty and vegetation of Ethiopia,
their promised land. Another characteristic of the Rasta s belief is the use of Ganja for religious
purposes. Its use is written in the bible in scriptures saying He causeth the grass for the cattle
and herb for the services of man (Psalms 104:14), . . . thou shalt eat the herb of the field
(Genesis 3:18) and . . . eat every herb of the land (Exodus 10:12). The use of this herb is very
extensive among Rastas not only for relaxation, but for spiritual and medical purposes. On the

Fdi Of Foreign Investment Law Essay
FDI Institutional Change in Indonesia
The strong growth of total global FDI has increased the need of FDI as a source of external
financing to contribute in host country s economic development. This condition encourages many
countries to perform institutional reform in order to attract larger shares of FDI flows. From the
perspective of investors, they are more concern on the host country s institutional quality when
determining their investment location (Ali et al 2010). Therefore, institutions are essential
determinant of host country s locational advantage to entice FDI (Bevan et al 2004).
Capital account liberalization process in Indonesia started under Soeharto s New Order
presidency which was remarked by the introduction of Foreign Investment Law in 1967. Prior the
issuance of this law, under President Soekarno regime (1945 1967), the government initiated self
sufficiency policy and Indonesia was administered as a socialist economy. In Soekarno era,
investors from western countries were strictly restricted to invest in Indonesia (Fitriandi et al 2014,
p.81). As a consequence, Indonesia was not an attractive place for foreign investors (Lindblad 2015,
p.221). The absence of rule of law concerning foreign direct investment in the period of 1945 1967

Native American architecture varies greatly from region to region throughout North America, and
was influenced by factors such as climate, kind of community, and the natural environment.

is not creditable, but the whole theory of what cultural relativists believe, isn t completely
incorrect. Cultural relativism is the theory that beliefs, activities, and most values are based on the
person s culture. In other words, right and wrong is different in each culture. I agree with James
Rachel on his view of cultural relativism because he has very good reasons for objecting the
argument that cultural relativists make. This paper will argue that James Rachel s opinion on
cultural relativism is correct and the assumptions that cultural relativist believe are incorrect.
Cultural Relativists believe in the cultural differences argument. This argument says:
1.Different cultures have different moral codes.
2.Therefore, there is no objective truth in morality. Right and wrong are only matters of opinion and
opinions vary from culture to culture (Rachel 21).
Rachel s considers the cultural differences argument for cultural relativism to be unsound. I agree
with her because it just is not logical for something to not have anything that is objectively true
just because people disagree on it. An example that stands out to me regards murder. If Society A
agreed on murder and society B disagreed on murder than the conclusion is not that there is no
objective truth on the matter. Murder is obviously wrong because if in a particular society

What Happens When People Wash Their Hands Essay
About ninety five percent of individuals wash their hands improperly. This means that for every
one hundred people, only five people actually effectively sanitize their hands. This includes while
cooking, using the restroom and exercising. How disgusting is that? To think about shaking hands
with individuals who do not wash their hands correctly or at all is quite disturbing. Every day,
individuals are becoming ill and/or dying due to infections and disease. Infections are constantly
being spread and it is impossible to eliminate them one hundred percent. However, there are a
variety of simple ways people can prevent them from further spreading. It is vital to educate young
people about what infection is, how it is transmitted, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Viral infections can also be systemic, which means that it affects multiple parts of one s body
(Nordqvist).
Another major type of infection that is the most common is a bacterial infection. Bacteria are single
celled microorganisms that do not contain a nucleus or any organelles surrounded by a
membrane. Bacteria can practically live in almost any kind of environment. It lives all throughout
the inside of people s bodies and most of the time, it will not cause harm to one s health. There
are three different shapes of bacteria: spherical, rod shaped, and spiral (Nordqvist). Not only are
there viral and bacterial infections, but there are several other types as well.
Many infections are contracted in specific locations. For instance, people who have a nosocomial
infection mainly contract an infection that is present in a hospital or other health care facility.
The term nosocomial infection is associated with hospital acquired infections (HAI) or health
care associated infections. In order for someone to have a nosocomial infection, the infection has
to be present before he or she receives medical care. For it to be considered a HAI, the infection
has to happen up to forty eight hours after someone is admitted, up to three days after they are
discharged, up to thirty days after they go through an operation, or when they come into a
healthcare facility

The Gospel Of Wealth By Andrew Carnegie
Wealth is something that not all people have, but most typically want more of it. There are many
people on Earth that wish they had more wealth, and there are even a select few that have too
much. The Gospel of Wealth by Andrew Carnegie is all about what should be done when there is
too much wealth held by an individual. Carnegie begins his essay by describing how the disparity
of wealthhas changed over the years. He also describes how wealth has simply grown in general
over time. Carnegie states, What were the luxuries have become the necessaries of life . He then
goes on to discuss ways that excess wealth accumulated by any one person can be spent or
distributed. There are three ways, or modes, that Carnegie touches on in order to dispose

Civic Engagement Paper
For my civic engagement project I attended the State of the State Address hosted by Governor
Andrew Cuomo. The event was held at SUNY Purchase and filled with many politicians,
students, educators, reporters, and many other adults. You can feel the excitement in the room
from everyone who wanted to hear what our Governor had to say about his agenda for this year.
Once he came out on stage after being introduced, the crowd went wild everyone was happy to
see him. He started off his speech trying to keep the positive environment that was already set;
Governor Cuomo told everyone what the State of the State exactly was and told us about what
our state has already accomplished. He brought up how we were the first big state to legalize
marriage equality, paid family leave, and raising the minimum wage and now other states are
following us across the nation. We were told also about unemployment rate decreasing from 8.4 to
5.1 and broke the myth that only democrats are big spenders showing the past governors both
democratic and republic all spending a lot, but still within range of each other. Cuomo wanted to
explain that the government was taking a big chunk of money out of our paychecks because the
state at the time was spending more money than it was making. After explaining what was

Modernism In The Wasteland And Wyndham Lewis sTarr
In the past one hundred years there has been a diverse kind of literature often mentioned to as
modern and differentiate it from the current. For where the contemporary refers to a period, the
modern refers to a style. Modern literature may be coming to an end; however, many critics would
argue that given the nature of the society in which we live in, it is merely impossible to bid
goodbye too. The aim of this essay is to focus on T.S. Eliot s The Wasteland and Wyndham Lewis s
Tarr , amongst with other texts to discuss the elements of modernist literature and how cultural
modernismeffects its authors through their portrayal of the modern.
New Paradigms:
T. S. Eliot s The Wasteland can be seen in a form of paradigm, as he liked to use mythical
methods that offered a new way of giving a shape and meaning to the view of disorder which is
modern history. I will also mention the ambiance of The Wasteland and explain Ted Hughes An
assemblage of human cries . And how that relates to the unconventional.
Then I will Introduce Lewis s Tarr and state how The novel balances Tarr s nominal ability to
look at life objectively, from the outside , and to separate his relationship to art from his
relationship to sex, against Kreisler s increasingly clear inability to separate art from life and
sexuality from violence. (Klein, 6)
Avant garde:
This will be the second element discussed. The literal definition would be explained and what is
also means in terms of modernist literature and what roles writers have, in conjunction with this
element I will also include artistic experimentation and how that helped modernist culture. I will
also refer to cubism and surrealism and why it affected literary writers as many visual artists.
Avant Garde in The Wasteland . Fragmentation in the poem.
A form of avant garde which Lewis founded was Vorticism along with Ezra Pound. I will consider
writing into detail regarding vorticism in the book and how that is a response to modernism.
The Unconscious:
Will be explained with reference to Sigmund Freud and his important theory which consists of the
ego, superego, and id. How he thought humans have become civilized by repressing primitive
drives. I will also look at how

Sociology as Essay
Examine the ways in which sociologists can contribute to our understanding of how social identity
is shaped by gender. (24 marks)
An identity is who we are, this is made up of how we see ourselves and how others see us. Social
identity is based on one s membership to particular groups in society. This essay will examine the
way in which sociologist contribute to our understanding by providing theories and ideas of how
social identity is shaped by gender.
Ann Oakley, a feminist sociologist suggested that there are four ways in which gender socialization
takes place during primary socialization. These are manipulation, canalization, verbal appellations,
and different activities. Manipulation is when parents encourage behaviour that is ... Show more

Parents direct their child interest into certain behaviour according to their gender, for example
when boys are younger they are encouraged to play football and be aggressive and they are
discouraged from crying. And girls are encouraged to play with dolls and to look after their
appearance. Feminists believe this is how an individual s social identity is shaped by gender.
However post modernists sociologists criticize the feminist theory. Post modernists believe that
due to social and economic changes, female role and identities are changing. The changes in the
job market has led to a decline in traditional labour jobs that employed men and new jobs in the
service sector are increasing. These jobs in the service sector are aimed at employing women. As
women are going out to work their values are changing so female identities are changing.
Similarly today s idea of masculinity is different, there are other types of masculinity today, and it
is viewed differently. Bob Connell, a Post modernist sociologist believed that men have become
more in touch with their feminine side and there are now more househusbands and New men. A
househusband is a man that is more involved at home. So the man would take care of the children,
and does the chores as well. Also the fact that celebrities such as David Beckham, a male who is
more concerned with his image, has led to men believing, this is how they should act and behave
as well, it gives men something to look

Wound Product Selection Process
Infection control and wound product selection contribute to the wound healing environment.
It is the hypothesis of this report that infection control and wound product selection that is based on
best practice guidelines, will enhance wound healing in patients.
According to, International Best Practice Guidelines; Wounds International, 2013, With appropriate
and careful management it is possible to delay or avoid most serious complications . When wound
care products are selected appropriately for the patients wound, and used as instructed, they are
very effective. Best practice wound care requires the nurse to be able to follow infection control
guidelines and choose the appropriate dressing to achieve optimal healing for patients. There are
many dressings to choose from, but failing to correctly assess a wound and chose the right dressing
will delay wound healing, potentially causing further distress to the patient and create further costs.

How Does The Context Of Production Influence The Nature Of...
This afternoon on the poetry network live we examine two famous pieces on war from different
eras, these pieces are The Charge of the Light Brigade by Lord Alfred Tennyson and The Fool
Rings His Bell by Walter de la Mare.
The purpose of this afternoons show is to answer the question of how does the context of
production influence the nature of poetry?
When it comes to poetry war is an often reoccurring theme. Many poems have been written in
times of crisis when literal expression is the only way to make meaning of the madness.
For the best part of the last century, the theme of war has been dominated by negative
connotations and portrayals depicting quite realistically the atrocity and futility of war. We have
ANZAC day, our annual reminder of the sacrifice of war. When even one of our soldiers pays the
ultimate price in a tour of duty the nation mourns. Any band with an appreciable life span has sung
a protest song. Be it from the television, the radio, the internet or the newspaper the message
remains the same; war is bad.
But it wasn t always like this. Back in the good old days when armies fought in ordered lines on
far away fields and shot, hacked and charged each other until there was only one side left standing
war was segregated from civilisation. The battlefield wasn t reproduced in the living room and the
greater public had no comprehension of the atrocities that occurred.

Expert Eyewitness
Court standards, rules, and regulations should be the same across the United States. This is a
question that can easily be answered, or at least it should be easy to answer. In order to find what
the basis and function of an expert witness are, it is imperative to check the standards of each state.
The legal system has created the expertwitness role. However, the Rules of Evidence which consist
of consulting and testimonial evidence would not exist without the restatement of Federal Rules
701 through 706. This federal rule states that a qualified expert witness may give his/her expert
opinion to help the courts understand some of the evidence, or to recognized a fact in issue.
Rule 701 State: Lay Opinion: If there is no expert witness, opinion is allowable only when it is 1)
reasonably founded on perception and 2) supportive to the user of fact (Sapir, 2007). ... Show more

constructed on evidence or statistics 1) essentially perceived or heard by the professional or 2)
conversed to her/him at or prior the trial (Sapir, 2007). Permissibility of the evidence or statistics
isn t necessary if characteristically trusted on this ground (Sapir, 2007).
Rule 704 State: Opinion on Ultimate Issue: A professional may direct a belief which 1) states a
crucial question of fact, but views or suggestions concerning the psychological state of the
defendant are reserved for the user of fact, and 2) when that psychological state is a component of
the crime accused or a defense to that crime (Sapir, 2007).

Four Principles Of Sustainable Tourism, By Mowforth And Munt
Mowforth and Munt claim that there are four principles of sustainable tourism:
Ecological sustainability it refers to minimization or elimination of tourism impact on environment.
This can be done by using techniques and tools such as carrying capacity and/or establishment of
protected areas and zones as well as visitor management techniques and many others.
Economic sustainability Tourism must bring economic incentives to a host country`s economy,
drive it to economic development and economic prosperity. Tourism must create workplaces for all,
including vulnerable strata of a society such as women and young people and/or young specialists.
Social sustainability this is the ability of a society to absorb tourists without disharmony to the
society. Tourism may have an indirect influence on demographics at a local... Show more content

Education plays a crucial role in changing active players` mind (government, people, and
organizations) from mass tourism to sustainable tourism.
Tools of sustainable tourism:
Area protection there are many examples of protected areas around the world. The main reason for
doing so is to protect the area because of its natural, cultural and /or ecological values.
Industry regulation the tourism industry and its practices must be regulated and controlled. For that
reason, national governments must have strict laws and regulations.
Visitor management techniques
Environmental impact assessment Limits of acceptable change (LAC) challenges tourism planners
to balance tourists flow and social and environmental costs.
Carrying capacity many different definitions of carrying capacity have been proposed. This is one

Degradation Of Immigrants
In light of the current situation having to do with the degradation of immigrants, legal or not in
this country, I have chosen an unwritten text that is close to my heart, the Mexican and
American flags combined to create a new one. It takes pieces of the Mexican flag like the eagle
emblem and pieces of the American flag like the stars and stripes to create a new vision of
solidarity. I have seen this symbol more often in the last year due to the current administration s
policies and the many ways it seeks to change the status of the immigrant population. This
representation of unity was created for those who feel a strong tie to both America and Mexico, for
those who are proud to be a part of both countries and who believe that the two nations

Hansberry wrote A Raisin in the Sun and in the play a man name Walter and his Mama fight

Mama grew up in the early 1900s and how she was treated and what she had back then helped

living things, even those that do not seem to thrive (Dominica 3) just shows that Mama is
family number one. Walter and Beneatha have a totally different mindset then Mama because of
the way they grew up. The two children grew up in a different era then Mama they both were
involved in racial eras, but in Walters and Beneathas era is more open time. The success and

because he thinks that money will make him into the leader of the family, and be able to get
them anything they want. Beneatha is just like her brother that the basic is just not enough even
her friend Asagai gave her a name that means bread is not enough (Hansberry, Raisin 1604) he is
just saying that the basic stuff is just not enough for her she needs more. Success in Walters s
eyes is all about money, and it s not all about him being greedy it s just all about wanting to have
more for the family. At the beginning of the play Walters s son wanted fifty cents for school but
when Travis asked his mom she said no then he asked Walter and he gave him the fifty cents like
it was nothing. Walter just wanted his son to look up at him and see that he is a big successful
man. Hansberry wrote When we first meet him, he does not wish to alter it; merely to change his

Commodity Fetishism In Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market
Karl Marx s theory of commodity fetishism was the idea of the social relationship that involved
production as well as economic relationships surrounded by money and commodities exchange in a
market trade. Marx pointed out that the theory of commodity fetishism explained the social
association of labor was intervened through business sector trade, the purchasing and the offering of
items which is goods and service. One can see the relation of commodity fetishismand Christina
Rossetti s Goblin Market as Goblins Market showed the market exchanged of buying and selling

that the forms of distribution expressed the relations under which the recently delivered newly

s intelligent ascribed a relative quality to an item, the merchandise and productions made by the
labor of the worker. To apply this theory to Goblin Market, the market was always open in the

Logistics Design Alternatives to United Parcel Service
The United Parcel Service is one of the largest companies in the global courier delivery service
industry, with a net income of about $3 billion and revenues exceeding $53 billion. Headquartered
in the United States, a large part of UPS s market share and revenues come from the business it
conducts in Europe. The logisticsdesign of UPS has three distinct functions, consolidation,
distribution, and fragmentation. Consolidation is the collection of parcels to then be sent to
distribution. Distribution works on a hub to hub basis with distance determining what mode of
transportation will be used (Air or Ground). Fragmentation is the final design step in the UPS
logistics design, combined with consolidation for the most part; this function is where products
are delivered to their final destination. These basic functions have kept UPS a world leader in the
logistics field and well ahead of their competitors. Benjamin Franklin once said Without continual
growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning
(Brainy quote, 2014). UPS is continually striving to improve their logistical operations. With over
90,000 ground vehicles in the UPS fleet, it is hard to imagine how much money they are spending
on gasoline. The fragmentation and consolidation function of UPS make up the majority of the
vehicle usage within UPS, they have set fuel efficiency goals for their fleet aiming for a 20%
increase in MPG between the years 2000 and 2020.

The Future Of Life Edward O Wilson
The Future of Life Analysis In The Future of Life by Edward O. Wilson, Wilson, a contemporary
scientist, illustrates the unproductive nature of environmentalists and the people firsts or anti
environmentalists. Wilson also identifies the parallels of each group and their unexpected
similarities. He satirizes the language that each group would typically use against the other. It is
concluded that people in today s world are all too literal. When everything said is taken to heart, it
is difficult for the real issues to ever be resolved. Wilson uses satire and the over exaggeration of
both sides to prove a point that neither side is focusing on the real issues at hand, both sides are
simply putting the other down. Both the environmentalists and the anti environmentalists use
strong language and name calling,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people first group claims that the environmentalists want complete control of your taxes and
ultimately your freedom. They claim the environmentalists are all about laws, acts and regulations,
using them as justification to get what they want. The people first claim that a strong, growing free
market economy would be best for both America and the environment. On the flip side,
environmentalists claim that the people first groups are only interested in unrestrained capitalism
with land development [above everything else.] The environmentalists strongly believe that the
people first would never stand a chance in court if it wasn t for their ties to corporate power
structures. They believe the people first only interest is themselves and they have absolutely no
regard to the environment in any way. Both groups are not afraid to call out the other on why their
governmental beliefs are wrong, yet they don t state why their beliefs are

How North Korea became a Cruel Country
How did North Korea become the cruel country that scorches both surrounding and distant nations
with its sternly severe socialist flame? Subjugated by Japan in 1910, North Korea was mercilessly
enslaved for thirty five years. Due to Japan s defeat in World War II in 1945, the United States
occupied the southern region of the Korean Peninsula while Soviet troops seized the north. As a
result communism spread like weeds. Sadly, North Koreas government, military, and economy
were all by shaped by the leftist views suppressed on them. The root of the problem was Kim Il
Sung, the first premier of the Democratic People s Republic of Korea. At the urging of the United
States, the United Nations General Assembly established elections, introduced a constitution, and
formed the Republic of Korea in South Korea. The North Korean government evenly divides the
tasks of leadership among numerous officials as this obligation requires careful attention. In
accordance with their constitution, the head of government is the premier; Choe Yong rim
presently occupies this position. Specifically aiding the premier, three vice premiers and the
cabinet, which is comprised of twenty eight ministers, are next in power. The uppermost
lawmaking body, the Supreme People s Assembly, elects the majority of cabinet members. The
minister of the People s Armed Forces is the sole exception. He recurrently reports to Kim Jong
eun. The Korean Worker s Party is where the SPA s authority is

  • 4. The Realm Of Collegiate Athletics The realm of collegiate athletics is made up of participants that hail from all walks of life. In many instances the athletic programs that make up the university can be considered the most diverse group on campus. The will to win largely attracts participants from every conceivable ethnic and demographic background. The diversity and racial composition of athletic programs can provide opportunities for athletes to learn about people who are different than themselves, help improve interracial understanding, and help reduce prejudice among groups. Although diversity among student athletes is a favorable goal, it is important that the coaches, athletic counselors, or anyone working with student athletes have practices and procedures in place to immerse athletes within the culture of collegiate athletics. The ability to succeed will be determined by the athlete and the programs ability to function within a multilevel system that includes knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations, university policies, athletic department standards, and team dynamics (Fletcher, 2003). While there are many opportunities for student athletes to gain a cross racial understanding from participating in team sports such as basketball, football, and track and field there can be differences in racial diversity among sports. For instance, white college athletes comprise 68.3% of the national populations in intercollegiate athletics at all levels (NCAA Division I, II, and III) (NCAA, 2014). In the ... (SCEI), had just gotten off a conference call with journalists. It was late August 2008, and the reporters were inquiring about Afrika, a new safari videogame for Sony s PlayStation 3 (PS3) console that allowed players to watch wild animals and take virtual pictures. Hirai could not help feeling frustrated. Most of the conversation like many others with Sony outsiders in the past month had revolved around two questions: Was Afrika Sony s answer to the casual games that were partly responsible for the runaway success of rival Nintendo s Wii videogame console? And more generally,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Market Birth, Collapse, and Rebirthb The videogame industry got off to an uncertain start in 1972, when television maker Magnavox introduced Odyssey, the first home videogame console. Priced at $100 (the equivalent of $516 in 2008 dollars),c Odyssey needed a television screen to project its very limited action. The system came with 12 games, including versions of tennis and ping pong, each on a printed circuit board.5 However, partly due to some uninspired marketing and distribution decisions, Odyssey s appeal proved limited. Magnavox sold more than 100,000 game systems by year end, but sales quickly declined and Odyssey was pulled from the market.6 Enter Atari Around the same time, a young entrepreneur named Nolan Bushnell was developing arcade games with the use of then new microprocessor technology.7 In 1972, the company he started, Atari, launched its first hit game an arcade version of ping pong.8 In Pong, two players batted a ball of light back and forth between on screen paddles. The game instructions were simple: Avoid missing ball for high score. 9 Pong was an immediate success: 8,500 arcade consoles were sold in the first year.10 Bushnell ... What Role Did Roden Play In The Theology Of The Davidians Houteff bought a plot of land and moved outside Waco, Texas, bringing just under a hundred followers with him and thereby establishing the Davidian sect. They built a variety of buildings and named the location Mount Carmel after the mount where Elijah overcame the prophets of Baal. On a side note, this Mount Carmel was different from the one involved in the Branch Davidianinferno. Houteff did not want to break away from the Seventh day Adventism and continued to view his evangelistic message as directed to the Adventist church. Roden affirmed the leadership of Victor and Ellen White and especially the need for a righteous remnant. Roden is responsible for the adoption of the name Branch, claiming it as the new name of Christ according to Isaiah 11:1. The Davidians, under Roden, became the Branch Davidians. Roden implemented observance of Old Testament festivals, which wasn t a big leap from strict Sabbath practice. He was also incredibly passionate about Israel and attempted to establish a group of Davidians within Israel. If they were able to move the Davidians to Israel, they would be one step closer to the millennium and their final earthly dwelling place. Under Roden, Branch Davidians believed that the truth of God would proceed from Jerusalem and since they contained the truth of God, it was necessary that they move to Israel. Unfortunately, Roden s dream was never completely actualized and upon his death in 1978, his wife Lois Roden assumed leadership of the Branch Davidians. Unlike Florence Houteff, Lois Roden received visions prior to the death of her husband and was even considered a prophetess, whereas Florence was just considered the leader. As the prophetic voice of the Branch Davidians, she formulated new theology, the most important being that the Holy Spirit is feminine. According to her, the notion of Father and Son in the ... • 12. A Christian Art Analysis As I write this post, a recent memory springs up in my mind. Earlier this year, my dad had an art show at the Steffen Thomas Museum focused on Christian Art. One afternoon, Chris and I decided to go over there so I could look at his show. I am always amazed at my dad s art and this was no exception. As we went from paintingto painting, I could not imagine the countless hours he spent on each one of these paintings. However, our trip did not last countless hours as I looked over 30 paintings in about twenty five minutes. This was not due to my lack of interest, but more to my novice mindset towards art. Art is similar to most skill activities in that people that are active in said activity can better understand and articulate the small actions that lead to a great piece of art, a great football play, or a great movie. I am embarrassed to say that I did not pay close enough attention to the intricacies of my dad s art, but I accepted to write these articles in hopes I could learn more about my dad s favorite past time. ... But I do not believe that the box holds evil or Chris would have used a different color than a calming light blue. One of the main themes in this movie is the acceptance of people for who they truly are. In this movie we witness a lot of prejudice, or just assumptions. Shrek ends up scaring everyone and the people leave him alone for good because they know that they can t take over his swamp or defeat him. Then, he sees a flyer announcing that fairytale creatures are wanted, but he disregards the flyer; this will later have him astonished. The next setting is a nearby forest where an auction is being held. The things being sold are the fairytale creatures; this is where we are introduced to Donkey. As the auction takes place, Donkey is supposed to be sold because he has the amazing ability of talking just like humans. He does not want to be sold or used for entertainment. This condition encourages many countries to perform institutional reform in order to attract larger shares of FDI flows. From the perspective of investors, they are more concern on the host country s institutional quality when determining their investment location (Ali et al 2010). Therefore, institutions are essential determinant of host country s locational advantage to entice FDI (Bevan et al 2004). Capital account liberalization process in Indonesia started under Soeharto s New Order presidency which was remarked by the introduction of Foreign Investment Law in 1967. Prior the issuance of this law, under President Soekarno regime (1945 1967), the government initiated self sufficiency policy and Indonesia was administered as a socialist economy. In Soekarno era, investors from western countries were strictly restricted to invest in Indonesia (Fitriandi et al 2014, p.81). As a consequence, Indonesia was not an attractive place for foreign investors (Lindblad 2015, p.221). The absence of rule of law concerning foreign direct investment in the period of 1945 1967 has made investment environment in Indonesia became uncertain and had high business risks which were unfavourable for businesses. The business parties were became unconfident and faced uncertain and unpredictable of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Cultural Relativism Is Not Ideal Cultural Relativism is not Ideal In The Challenge of Cultural Relativism, James Rachel s main argument is that cultural relativism is not creditable, but the whole theory of what cultural relativists believe, isn t completely incorrect. Cultural relativism is the theory that beliefs, activities, and most values are based on the person s culture. In other words, right and wrong is different in each culture. I agree with James Rachel on his view of cultural relativism because he has very good reasons for objecting the argument that cultural relativists make. This paper will argue that James Rachel s opinion on cultural relativism is correct and the assumptions that cultural relativist believe are incorrect. Cultural Relativists believe in the cultural differences argument. This argument says: 1.Different cultures have different moral codes. 2.Therefore, there is no objective truth in morality. Right and wrong are only matters of opinion and opinions vary from culture to culture (Rachel 21). Rachel s considers the cultural differences argument for cultural relativism to be unsound. I agree with her because it just is not logical for something to not have anything that is objectively true just because people disagree on it. An example that stands out to me regards murder. If Society A agreed on murder and society B disagreed on murder than the conclusion is not that there is no objective truth on the matter. Murder is obviously wrong because if in a particular society ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Modernism In The Wasteland And Wyndham Lewis sTarr In the past one hundred years there has been a diverse kind of literature often mentioned to as modern and differentiate it from the current. For where the contemporary refers to a period, the modern refers to a style. Modern literature may be coming to an end; however, many critics would argue that given the nature of the society in which we live in, it is merely impossible to bid goodbye too. The aim of this essay is to focus on T.S. Eliot s The Wasteland and Wyndham Lewis s Tarr , amongst with other texts to discuss the elements of modernist literature and how cultural modernismeffects its authors through their portrayal of the modern. New Paradigms: T. S. Eliot s The Wasteland can be seen in a form of paradigm, as he liked to use mythical methods that offered a new way of giving a shape and meaning to the view of disorder which is modern history. I will also mention the ambiance of The Wasteland and explain Ted Hughes An assemblage of human cries . And how that relates to the unconventional. Then I will Introduce Lewis s Tarr and state how The novel balances Tarr s nominal ability to look at life objectively, from the outside , and to separate his relationship to art from his relationship to sex, against Kreisler s increasingly clear inability to separate art from life and sexuality from violence. (Klein, 6) Avant garde: This will be the second element discussed. The literal definition would be explained and what is also means in terms of modernist literature and what roles writers have, in conjunction with this element I will also include artistic experimentation and how that helped modernist culture. I will also refer to cubism and surrealism and why it affected literary writers as many visual artists. Avant Garde in The Wasteland . Fragmentation in the poem. A form of avant garde which Lewis founded was Vorticism along with Ezra Pound. I will consider writing into detail regarding vorticism in the book and how that is a response to modernism. The Unconscious: Will be explained with reference to Sigmund Freud and his important theory which consists of the ego, superego, and id. How he thought humans have become civilized by repressing primitive drives. I will also look at how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This essay will examine the way in which sociologist contribute to our understanding by providing theories and ideas of how social identity is shaped by gender. Ann Oakley, a feminist sociologist suggested that there are four ways in which gender socialization takes place during primary socialization. Parents direct their child interest into certain behaviour according to their gender, for example when boys are younger they are encouraged to play football and be aggressive and they are discouraged from crying. And girls are encouraged to play with dolls and to look after their appearance. Feminists believe this is how an individual s social identity is shaped by gender. However post modernists sociologists criticize the feminist theory. Post modernists believe that due to social and economic changes, female role and identities are changing. The changes in the job market has led to a decline in traditional labour jobs that employed men and new jobs in the service sector are increasing. These jobs in the service sector are aimed at employing women. As women are going out to work their values are changing so female identities are changing. Similarly today s idea of masculinity is different, there are other types of masculinity today, and it is viewed differently. Bob Connell, a Post modernist sociologist believed that men have become more in touch with their feminine side and there are now more househusbands and New men. A househusband is a man that is more involved at home. So the man would take care of the children, and does the chores as well. Harding left politics temporarily, to concentrate on the Star. In 1910 he returned to polotics to run for governor of Ohio and lost. In 1914 he was elected into Senate. • 40. How Does The Context Of Production Influence The Nature Of... This afternoon on the poetry network live we examine two famous pieces on war from different eras, these pieces are The Charge of the Light Brigade by Lord Alfred Tennyson and The Fool Rings His Bell by Walter de la Mare. The purpose of this afternoons show is to answer the question of how does the context of production influence the nature of poetry? When it comes to poetry war is an often reoccurring theme. Many poems have been written in times of crisis when literal expression is the only way to make meaning of the madness. For the best part of the last century, the theme of war has been dominated by negative connotations and portrayals depicting quite realistically the atrocity and futility of war. We have ANZAC day, our annual reminder of the sacrifice of war. When even one of our soldiers pays the ultimate price in a tour of duty the nation mourns. Any band with an appreciable life span has sung a protest song. Be it from the television, the radio, the internet or the newspaper the message remains the same; war is bad. But it wasn t always like this. Back in the good old days when armies fought in ordered lines on far away fields and shot, hacked and charged each other until there was only one side left standing war was segregated from civilisation. The battlefield wasn t reproduced in the living room and the greater public had no comprehension of the atrocities that occurred. Getting back to the topic we have the Charge of the Light Brigade glorifying war, while ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to find what the basis and function of an expert witness are, it is imperative to check the standards of each state. The legal system has created the expertwitness role. However, the Rules of Evidence which consist of consulting and testimonial evidence would not exist without the restatement of Federal Rules 701 through 706. This federal rule states that a qualified expert witness may give his/her expert opinion to help the courts understand some of the evidence, or to recognized a fact in issue. Degradation Of Immigrants In light of the current situation having to do with the degradation of immigrants, legal or not in this country, I have chosen an unwritten text that is close to my heart, the Mexican and American flags combined to create a new one. It takes pieces of the Mexican flag like the eagle emblem and pieces of the American flag like the stars and stripes to create a new vision of solidarity. I have seen this symbol more often in the last year due to the current administration s policies and the many ways it seeks to change the status of the immigrant population. This representation of unity was created for those who feel a strong tie to both America and Mexico, for those who are proud to be a part of both countries and who believe that the two nations ... • 48. Logistics Design Alternatives to United Parcel Service The United Parcel Service is one of the largest companies in the global courier delivery service industry, with a net income of about $3 billion and revenues exceeding $53 billion. Headquartered in the United States, a large part of UPS s market share and revenues come from the business it conducts in Europe. The logisticsdesign of UPS has three distinct functions, consolidation, distribution, and fragmentation. Consolidation is the collection of parcels to then be sent to distribution. Distribution works on a hub to hub basis with distance determining what mode of transportation will be used (Air or Ground). Fragmentation is the final design step in the UPS logistics design, combined with consolidation for the most part; this function is where products are delivered to their final destination. These basic functions have kept UPS a world leader in the logistics field and well ahead of their competitors. Benjamin Franklin once said Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning (Brainy quote, 2014). UPS is continually striving to improve their logistical operations. With over 90,000 ground vehicles in the UPS fleet, it is hard to imagine how much money they are spending on gasoline. The fragmentation and consolidation function of UPS make up the majority of the vehicle usage within UPS, they have set fuel efficiency goals for their fleet aiming for a 20% increase in MPG between the years 2000 and 2020. ... Wilson, Wilson, a contemporary scientist, illustrates the unproductive nature of environmentalists and the people firsts or anti environmentalists. Wilson also identifies the parallels of each group and their unexpected similarities. He satirizes the language that each group would typically use against the other. It is concluded that people in today s world are all too literal. When everything said is taken to heart, it is difficult for the real issues to ever be resolved. Wilson uses satire and the over exaggeration of both sides to prove a point that neither side is focusing on the real issues at hand, both sides are simply putting the other down. • 50. How North Korea became a Cruel Country How did North Korea become the cruel country that scorches both surrounding and distant nations with its sternly severe socialist flame? Subjugated by Japan in 1910, North Korea was mercilessly enslaved for thirty five years. Due to Japan s defeat in World War II in 1945, the United States occupied the southern region of the Korean Peninsula while Soviet troops seized the north. As a result communism spread like weeds. Sadly, North Koreas government, military, and economy were all by shaped by the leftist views suppressed on them. The root of the problem was Kim Il Sung, the first premier of the Democratic People s Republic of Korea. At the urging of the United States, the United Nations General Assembly established elections, introduced a constitution, and formed the Republic of Korea in South Korea. The North Korean government evenly divides the tasks of leadership among numerous officials as this obligation requires careful attention. In accordance with their constitution, the head of government is the premier; Choe Yong rim presently occupies this position. Specifically aiding the premier, three vice premiers and the cabinet, which is comprised of twenty eight ministers, are next in power. The uppermost lawmaking body, the Supreme People s Assembly, elects the majority of cabinet members. The minister of the People s Armed Forces is the sole exception.
