My First Shot
It was almost midnight when he caught up to me. I knew it was time. I picked a spot next to the
large cave I found under the brush. He was coming quickly and I heard the dogs with him. When
he was within range I turned slightly and yelled in pure terror, or thats what he thought. Waiting
for him to shoot I pretended to struggle and and scramble in the brush while he pulled out his
pistol. I knew the way it worked, I had been in his dungeons listening to the gun shots for weeks.
I knew he would shoot my arm first to stop me, then my legs, then one last shot in my heart to
kill me. I waited for the first shot. It grazed my arm but that wasn t good enough, I yelled as if it
struck my heart, then fell into the pool as he fired off the last... Show more content on

shall I hunt him down, setting traps, evading his forces, or shall I signal for help and get off this
god forsaken island. I knew where I was in relation to the castle but I wanted to explore the other
side of the island, find a safe spot and get a goods night sleep. I also wanted to know what he was
going to do with the poor fellow who walked into his doom last night. The sun was just
disappearing over the ocean when I found a small alcove and saw the man who had walked past
me enter the castle. I felt a small amount of pity for him, but not enough to distract me from the
fact that I know men in America who would pays millions of dollars to own this island along
with the things on it. I waited a good hour before starting my journey to the mansion. I witnessed
him leave the castle, obviously on the hunt again. I knew this was my time to strike. I pulled out
the rabbits I had caught in the snares I set my first day being hunted. They would provide and
ample distraction for the hounds. I watched them be devoured as I slipped into the back door of
the dungeon. I had no need to be quiet for the only person who would harm me was Ivan, and he
was deaf. Walking past the cells full of shipwrecked sailors I meandered up to his room, found
his private bottle of wine, and mixed in the juice from a deadly fruit I found when I first entered
the island. He would die in the within 12 hours of taking even the smallest sip of the wine. I let a

The Poverty Of The United Kingdom Essay
Child contingent support In the United Kingdom, a commitment to end child poverty forever was
a stated key ambition of the incoming Labour administration in 1997 (Blair, 1999). Many of the
measures designed to achieve this outcome (or the marginally more modest intention to halve
child poverty by 2010) were about the provision of new or enhanced services rather than the
transfer of resources. Stewart (2013, 5) estimates that spending on child contingent benefits and tax
credits more or less doubled across the period of Labour government, while child related services
saw a dramatic increase from around ВЈ 671 per child in 1997/8 to ВЈ2,514 per child in 2009/10.
Part of this increase related to the Sure Start programme and the funded expansion of early
education. There was also legislation to increase the duration of maternity leave and to implement
statutory paternity leave. A commitment to lowering staff pupil ratios in state schools was part
of a (long term) investment in the well being of children, especially those from disadvantaged
backgrounds. Increased expenditure on pre school childcare was also seen as easing the route
back to work for mothers with young children (Stewart 2013). There was a further step change in
the resources directed to children (via their parents). This included an increase in the universal
child benefit where spending increased in real terms (at 2009/10 prices) from ВЈ9,134 million (in
1997/8) to ВЈ12,460 million (in 2009/10). There was

Mars Rover Curiosity
The Mars rover Curiosity is one the world s most advanced space exploration robot ever built,
being used to discover whether Mars is/was suitable for life while also studying the planet s climate,
biology, geology, geochemistry, planetary processes, and surface radiation. The data collected will
also help future exploration missions, most importantly future human exploration missions.
The rover was designed and engineered by Boeing, NASA s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in

Space Shuttle Challenger Explosion NASA s space shuttle orbiter Challenger was an engineering
failure that shocked the US when it blew up 73 seconds into its flight after its launch from
Florida in 1986, killing all seven of its crew. The cause of the failure was that the shuttle s O ring
seal in the right rocket booster failed while at liftoff, allowing pressurized gas from the rocket to
reach the adjacent SRB aft field joint attachment hardware and external fuel tanks, causing
structural failure and aerodynamic forces to tear it apart. The O ring wasn t designed to operate
under the very cold conditions during the launch. The technology involved was the O ring and
joints of the shuttle s rocket boosters. The boosters were constructed into seven sections held
together by joints, with each joint being sealed by rubber O rings. The O rings are meant to
contain hot, pressurized gas. If the O ring fails, there are little safe aborts possible for the shuttle

giant leaps in 2017. The introduction of the PlayStation 4 Pro and the XboxOne X marked the start
of a new gaming generation. With that being said, Microsoft promised the gaming community a
gaming console that would exceed expectations, reality, and the competition. Together in the
journey, we will examine and dissect why the Xbox One X is the greatest and most powerful

Theme Across Genre
Comparing a Theme Across Genres Sometimes people are faced with a disaster that they do not
have control over. This tragedy may result in deadly outcomes. In the story, Titanic, written by
Hanson W. Baldwin and in the story, Notes from a Bottle, written by James Stevenson both
portray a disaster that happened to many individuals that may or may not have cost them their
lives. Fictional stories have a more emotional impact on readers, and they develop feelings for the
characters. On the other hand, non fictional stories are more factual, and are more real than they
are personal. In the story, Titanic, by Hanson W. Baldwin a ship sailed the ocean on April 10,
1912 from Southampton to New York called the Titanic. Baldwin s purpose is to

In the story, Titanic, author Hanson W. Baldwin uses factual information to support his main
idea about the tragedy of the shipwreck, Titanic. Baldwin states facts to make the story more
realistic. For example, he uses time to let the readers know how fast the ship sunk after hitting
the iceberg. Towards the end of the story Baldwin writes, The Titanic had carried boats enough
for 1,178 persons, only one third of her capacity. Her sixteen boats and four collapsibles had
saved but 711 persons; 400 people had needlessly lost their lives. (Baldwin, 405). Baldwin uses
these facts to make the story more realistic by stating how many people were saved, and how many
died. The characters support the theme that nobody knows the situation they are walking into until

Rural Americans Face The Struggle Of Accessing Healthcare
Rural Americans face the struggle of accessing healthcare, both preventative services and also
specialty care, here in America. What is the cause most often? Distance. According to a study
conducted by Buzza et al (2011), those surveyed believed that distance was perhaps the most
important reason for lack of access to healthcare on a variety of the spectrum to include: routine
healthcare, emergency care, specialty care, and in some cases diagnostic services. What the study
found was that among other things, improved means of getting to said services would in turn,
improve access to healthcare services for ruralAmericans. The demographics of this study looked at
specifically rural veterans, however, these struggles can be seen for... Show more content on

Technological fixes are ways to solve the problems by means of technology, and often ignore
changing the behavior itself and rather just solve the problem with technology. Structural changes
are what are implemented as a penalty for not changing behaviors, typically an example of this is
laws and regulations that create a penalty for behaviors in order to change whatever problem is at
hand. First, how can the cognitive approach be utilized in order to change healthcare access to
rural Americans? Education of rural Americans as well as healthcare providers plays a role on
access to healthcare and their overall health. In rural America, twenty eight percent of adults rate
their health status as fair to poor, approximately nineteen percent of adolescents smoke, eighty in
100,000 males and forty in 100,000 females between the ages of one and twenty four die, and
approximately sixty four percent of rural adults are covered by private insurance. In addition, only
ten percent of the doctors in the United States practice in rural communities and only about forty in
100,000 specialists are in rural communities as well ( What s Different about Rural Health Care,

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change yourself and the world.
There is a reason why every civilization throughout time has valued education, because it truly can
alter our collective condition and make our lives easier, simpler, and most crucially, happier!
From Egyptians learning to write on papyrus tablets to late nineteenth century scientists striving to
discover medicines like penicillin, there has always been an urge in humanity to be better and to

The strength and force of education is visible to anyone who cares to look at the recent Egyptian
revolution, where young students, with minds opened to the wonders of democracy, through
education, helped overthrow the yoke of suffering that their parents had silently borne. Education is
the silent and effective weapon of nonviolence, which can help people and societies break the cycle
of oppression that many have historically suffered from. Many oppressed societies, where dictators
have thrived, have had a paucity of education avenues.
Education liberates the mind from its shackles and fears and encourages it to challenge and to
communicate with others. It is not without a reason that education is at the bottom of the priority
list of dictators. It was also not without reason that upon annexation of neighboring states. Many
dictators find it easy to unscrupulously deny people education or better still, manipulate education
to serve their own selfish interests. Throughout history, and even today, autocratic leaders censor
literature and books and prevent potent ideas from spreading since they realize that an idea is the
most powerful force in the world and can transform a human being completely. More importantly

Comparing the Epic of Gilgamesh Flood Myth and Book of...
Comparing the Gilgamesh and Genesis Floods
The rendition of the historic, worldwide Flood recorded in Genesis of the Old Testament is
similar to the account recorded on Tablet 11of the Sumero Babylonian version of the epic of
Gilgamesh, discovered in the 1800 s by British archaeologists in Assyria. Let us compare the two in
this essay.
Alexander Heidel in his book, The Gilgamesh Epic and Old Testament Parallels, provides a
background for the survivor of the Sumero Babylonian Flood, Utnapishtim:
Utnapishtim was the son of Ubara Tutu, the Otiartes, or, rather, Opartes of Berossus. According to
Berossus, the deluge hero was the tenth Prediluvian king in Babylonia. Also in the Sumerian
inscription he is referred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

[. . .] Load the seed of every living thing into your ark,
the boat that you will build.
Let her measure be measured;
let her breadth and length be equal.
Cover it with a roof as the abyss is covered. (Gardner 226)
There is no reason given by Utnapishtim for the deluge. On the contrary, the Judaic version of the
Flood in Genesis states in 6:5 8 a very clear, explicit reason for the Flood:
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that very imagination of the
thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on
the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, I will blot out man whom I have
created from the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I
am sorry that I have made them.
Likewise in Genesis 11:13 God gives a reason for the Flood:
And God said to Noah, I have determined to make an end of all flesh; for the earth is filled with
violence through them; behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
In Column 2 of Tablet 11 the Sumero Babylonian Flood narrative continues with the measurements
and construction of the ark:
One acre was its whole floorspace; ten dozen cubits the height of each wall;
ten dozen cubits its deck, square on each side.
I [Utnapishtim] laid out the contours, drew it all.

my attention to the myriad of duets on studio album number three. It s actually taken me quite a

It s so cool for me to meet those people out and about, it makes things like that so fulfilling, just

still live in the area that I grew up in. In a lot of ways life is not very different now than it was
before I started to do music and gained some sort of success. It s always a little bit weird when I
come out with a new album and suddenly there are all these opportunities to do interviews and
to do press, and to play music live, and to do all these things....I didn t move to LA or New York, I
didn t do that whole kind of route. So everything is still pretty normal for me, but strange. But it s
very cool, it s strange in the best way that I can describe I guess, so I m very happy. So after all his
work on Mobile Orchestra, what does Young want his listeners to take away from it? It s always
easy to forget that there s probably scenarios and situations in everybody s life that are sad and that

What Is Your Goal In Life Essay
As a young woman in today s society, I am constantly told to live in the now. This phrase is
frequently said by my peers to me to reassure me that despite feeling like I do not have my life
completely together at the moment, that it is important to take a step back and enjoy the events
going on in my life currently, as well as to take decisions that I make one step at a time. It is fairly
easy to conform to this mindset, largely because I am so young and wantto appreciate every
moment that life has to offer. However, as I move forward into my adult life, I am beginning to
realize the importance of setting goals in my life. This is not only because I want my life to have a
purpose so that I am not just fumbling throughout my collegecareer with no end goal in mind, but
also because it is an amazing feelings to work so hard towards a goal and have all my hard work
pay off in the end in order to achieve said goals. Obtaining a goal oriented mindset is undeniably
paramount to my success not only in my college career but as well as my personal life. Given this,

I am being overwhelmed by classwork and negativity, it will remain of the utmost importance to
me to make sure that at the end of the day, I tried my best despite any shortcomings. In the future,
there is always going to be a voice in the back of my head reminding me of my goals, and how

I did not realize how careful you have to be when writing the questions because originally I
thought that if I understand what the question is asking, everyone will understand too.
However, each person has a different perspective which is why there was a range of answers. I
had to watch how I worded each question, if I made them too confusing or led them on to a
specific answer. I had to use different formats because multiple choice is not acceptable for
every question. In addition, for the available answers, I had to make sure they were as simple as
possible in order not confuse the testers. I learned that the survey display is very important to
how the question is interpreted; the multiple choice questions made them feel overwhelmed even
though those are the best way to give a simple survey. For the most part the questions were clear
and the collected responses supported the concept I was interested about. If I could improve how
the survey was given for next time, I would have a larger and more diverse audience. I would also
change the number answers to make them more friendly because those questions tripped people up.

Effective Leadership Principals
It is important to enlist teachers as potential leaders to support ongoing improvement of teacher
performance and student learning outcomes. The demands placed on principals today would be
almost impossible to meet if it was kept as an autonomous, top down, non collaborative position.
Principals, now more than ever, are expected to be visionaries, resource directors, instructional
leaders, and building managers (Danielson, 2007). In every building, there are teachers whose
vision and expertise drives them to seek opportunities for leadership, coaching, curriculum
development, and schoolimprovement outside the classroom. When we deny them the opportunity
to expand their horizons, we build apathy, cynicism and an air of complacency. Teaching

Advantages Of Rolling Bags For Nursing School
Best rolling bag for nursing students What are the best rolling bags for nursing students? To be
honest, nursing books are heavy and numerous. Although it might not be necessary to carry all
books along to school, there will surely be times when you must tote several of them at once.
Moreover, while on campus, you will probably do a lot of walking and it will not be easy toting
heavy books. Research shows, carrying heavy books in small back packs on a constant basis
can lead to long term back ache. I doubt if anyone will want to begin a nursing career with
prolong back pain issues. This unnecessary pain can simply be avoided by using the proper tote
bag. Although there are a lot of choices in tote bags for nursing student, not all bags are equal.
Thus, when purchasing a rolling bag for nursing school, functionality should be the first thing to
consider. You should ask yourself the following questions; will the bag hold a reasonable number
of books? is there enough space for other stuffs such as laptops, tablets and nursing materials? You
really need to consider these questions because most rolling bags available in the market do not
have enough space to hold laptops and tablets. In addition, you must check if there are side pockets
and areas of storage for extras such as keys, smartphones and water bottles. Another important
quality to watch out for is durability. Some more things to think about. Is the bag made of high
quality material that will serve you throughout

Philippines Imperialization
The independence of the Philippines brought a new hope to the citizens that they would finally be
able to govern themselves. Imperialization from the Spanish in the 1500 s, followed by U.S. control
up until the end of World War II left the country hungry for economic resources and trustworthy

Often, the social order for most imperialized countries are for the benefit of the colonizing country
rather than the people themselves (Scipes). This held true for the Philippines, as their economy was
mostly controlled by the US. In another article, author Kathleen Weekley claims that, the American
administration tried to eradicate Filipino nationalism when it threatened US interests . By ignoring
nationalist pleas for economic reform, they treated the Philippines differently than other postwar
Asian countries; they implemented [reforms] on Japan, Korea and Taiwan, (Weekley) while putting
no effort on the Philippines. Even after their independence, the United States continued to maintain
a close relationship with the Philippine government. However, when they were in need of
resources and support post World War Two, the American government pursued plans driven for
their own self benefit. They were inexperienced with the way of the Philippines and also thad little

The Cyclical Teen Musical Film
The Cyclical Teen Musical Film Considered by Jane Feuer to be the only form of musical that
retains widespread popularity (123), the teen musical film is a cyclical sub genre of the musical
film that keeps coming back again and again since the 1960s, proving that it is a sub genre here to
stay. And since this is a cyclical sub genre, its historical development is also cyclical in matter: it
develops slightly throughout the cycle, as per many other filmgenres, but always seems to return
back to its original narrativestructure and conventions, even through the stylistic and sociocultural
changes throughout the decades. Each time the teen musical filmhas come back into mainstream
popularity, the films are always characterized by their dual focus structure primarily a male
female main character pairing and the two thematic elements typical of youth films, as described
by Timothy Shary: the growing up theme, and a conformity/rebellion binary. The only changes
are caused by sociocultural means, including, but not limited to, the Rock n Roll musicals of the
70 s, the Punk musicals beginning in the late 70 s, and the female centered narratives of the 80s.
Ever since the introduction of sound in the late 1920s and 1930s, the film musical has been a
prominent genre. However, up until the end of the Golden Age of the film musical, the majority of
these musical films produced were geared towards an adult audience to help raise morale during
the depression, World War I, and

Russell Williams
Psycology
With regards to psychology there are many different theories and perspectives of the human
mind however, I will be focusing on Sigmund Freud s theory of human behavior. Freud believed
that human behaviour is driven by desires and the suppression of the same desires . Concerning
the case of Col. Russell Williams, he was a paraphilic; he stole lingerie and then took
photographs of the women he sexually assaulted. According to Freud s theory of human behavior,
Williams did not possess the ability to control his desires. He started off as a voyeur , but
somehow transformed into a perverted sex offender with a dark fixation for violence. Sigmund
Freud compared the mind to an iceberg. Everything we are aware of is just the tip, ... Show more

Marie France Comeau. The act he committed was more than just murder; it expressed his inner
desired for violent sexual control over women. Underneath Russell Williams exterior of success
and loyalty lay a dark appetite for power, control and superiority over women that eventually
obliterated the lives of Marie France Comeau and Jessica Lloyd. said Ian MacLeod from the
Ottawa Citizen. From the perspective of a feminist, Williams actions urge for greater awareness
and advocacy to stop the sexualized violence as well as the degradation of women across Canada
and the world. It is too easy to dismiss Williams acts as those of a deranged man and to perceive
no need further response. If anything, the Williams case must call us all to greater awareness and
advocacy to end all sexualized violence and degradation of women. said Alice Schuda.
There are various factors that may have occurred throughout Williams s life that could thoroughly
account for his sexually deviant behaviour. The feeling of male dominance such as his father or a
military superior could have led Russell to express his infuriation and dominance on the opposite
sex. Consequently, his inadmissible behaviour initiates friction between genders; this represents a
feminist theory of female maltreatment. During childhood, Russell Williams may have come
across neglect from a female care giver, which may have had an influence on his bizarre and

Examples Of Oxymorons In Romeo And Juliet
It s often said that heartbreak teaches a lesson that nobody want to hear but will eventually have
to learn. It s a lesson that only has to be learned once unless learned wrong the first time. In
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, this claim is proved throughout act 1, scene 1 through
Romeo s premature heartbreak. Shakespeare uses oxymorons to reveal Romeo as a character

Descartes Proof Of The Existence Of God
One of the most important ideas upon which Descartes s proof of the existence of God rests is that
rational minds face constraints. While God is the absolute infinite, humans and other beings exist
with limitations on their actions. One of these limitations is human intellect, which Descartes
names as one component of the cause of our tendency toward error as humans. The finite nature of
human intellect, he argues, combines with an infinite will which causes us to seek an
understanding of phenomena beyond our intellectual limitations. This is where humans make
errors, according to Descartes. Although he argues that intellect is constrained in the face of free
will, the presentation of intellect as a static limitation seems to fall short. Rather, it makes more
sense to advance the idea of intellect as a dynamic concept which, although limited, is capable of
advancing toward a greater, more accurate understanding of the mind and world. In his Fourth
Meditation, Descartes aims to achieve a distinction between truth and falsity and, more particularly,
what leads to human error and thus results in false understandings. In doing so, Descartes notes that
humans make mistakes which is, of course, unarguably true. Very briefly, the idea of a demon
deceiver God is contemplated, but ruled out due to the quality of deceiving being an imperfection.
This rejection allows for a discussion of how humans exist relative to a God that embodies the
absolute infinite. In this discussion,

years, and it has never made a sustained, substantial return on investment... According to the Air
Transport Association, the airlineindustry trade association, the loss from 1990 through 1994 was
about $13 billion, while from 1995 through 2000, the airlines earned about $23 billion and then
lost about $35 billion from 2001 through 2005. Early in 2006 the association expected about a $10
billion loss in 2005.

Through these agreements, airlines can share facilities and operational costs (e.g., maintenance
facilities, sales offices) and negotiate volume discounts on large purchases. Passengers benefit
from lower prices (due to lower expenses) as well as optimized routes and pooled loyalty rewards,
especially in regards to international travel. Since the deregulation of the airline industry began,
airline ownership has been limited to companies and individuals of the operating country.
Consolidation is beneficial in two ways for airline companies, as it typically reduces redundant
operating costs and raises revenues through higher fares.
The airline industry can be separated into four categories by the U.S. Department of Transportation:
International
130+ seat planes that have the ability to take passengers just about anywhere in the world.
Companies in this category typically have annual revenue of $1 billion or more.
National
Usually these airlines seat 100 150 people and have revenues between $100 million and $1 billion.
Regional
Companies with revenues less than $100 million that focus on short haul flights.
Cargo
These are airlines generally transport goods.

Middle Class
A blue collar worker that makes 25 thousand dollars a year is put in the same socioeconomic
class as an engineer making 200 thousand dollars based on the Pew Research Center s
Calculation of middle class. The definition of middle class lumps those making four times the
median United States income with those living paycheck to paycheck and feeling like they live
more impoverished than anything leading to a confusion in identity. Is the lower middle supposed
to feel proud and content with their situation considering they are categorized with engineers,
doctors, and lawyers, or are they to feel impoverished because if they took a 5 thousand dollar pay
cut, they would be below the povertyline? The gap between the lower middle and the upper middle

Joe Carter in What Exactly Does argues that the term middle class is too broad of a classification
of a socioeconomic class. Carter uses income facts of the middle class ranging from 40,000 to
250,000 dollars a year from the Pew research center to demonstrate the income inequality in the
middle class. Carter argues that the wide ranging middle class makes it difficult to make policies
that help the lower middle without also helping the upper middle because they are grouped in the
same classification of socioeconomic status. When policies like the 529 bill created by Obama in
order to help the middle class attend college, they help the upper middle class which already lives
comfortably according to Carter, increasing the economic gap. In a different take on carter s
ideologies, the authors Janny Scott and David Leonhardt describe class lines as blurry because
people live lavishly beyond their class, but still firm barriers because the gaps of lifespan, health,
and style of life between classes still continues to grow. Carter argues these lines exist between the
lower middle and the upper middle because of the large

Cyanocobalamin Vs Mecbl
Healthcare providers may know that Cyanocobalamin (Cobal 1000) is widely used as the only
form of treatment for Vitamin B12, but what about its counterpart Methylcobalamin? Is ther a
difference in which form you take of B12? As the field of medicine continues to expand, so does
the development of drugs. Cobal 1000 and MeCbl are both chemically engineered in a laboratory.
Each made with similar compounded substances only to be used differently. Does one have a
greater effect than the other? To say the least, Cyanocobalamin is gear towards detoxifying
substances; whereas Methylcobalamin has been proven to optimize the body s liver, brain, and
nervous system. Due to the nature of Methylcobalamin, the drug targets nervous system and
improves the functions that were lacking such as: loss of feeling sensation, tingling, and numbness.

This particular vitamin is an essential part for development and survival (Coelho, et al., 2008).
Cyanocobalamin protects the nervous system and builds up the defenses from intruders. Once the
defenses are broken, vitamin B12 lacks the support that it needs and exposes the host to potential
dangers such as: macroytic anaemia, hypoesthesia, ataxia, or nonspecific gastrointestinal
symptoms (Thakkar Billa, 2015). Cyanocobalamin also know as Cobal 1000 is a chemically
synthesized drug produced in laboratories with cyanide. The human body has no use for cyanide
and will want to get rid of the molecule. Why would any manufacture produce products that could
potentially kill a person with a high dose? Well, it works well with detoxifying the body. It is not
lethal in small doses but anything larger than the recommended dosing can potentially kill
someone. Unlike Cobal 1000, MeCbl still provides the same results or even better

The Origin of The Japanese Values of Precision And Punctuality
Introduction
Precision and punctuality is believed to be the order of the day in the Japanese society in both
workplaces and social settings. Punctuality is highly regarded as an important factor that has
contributed to the success of the Japanese economy in global scene. In 2013, the train transport
between Osaka and Tokyo recorded an average delay of six seconds only. There is a deep sense
of respect for other people s businesses with concerns that such activities should not be
interrupted due to lateness. However, the lack of flexibility has been faulted by critics who
believe that the Japanese people are too obsessed with time keeping and precision. However, the
origin of such values is still unknown to many with questions arising on whether such values
existed before industrialization in Japan. The fact that the values are associated with Japan s
position as a global economic powerhouse raises concern on the origin of such values.

The Tokugawa period Researchers believe that the Japanese were not punctual in Tokugawa period,
which lasted between 1603 and 1868. In 1857, a historical document by Willem Van Kettendyke

However, the Meiji restoration period between 1868 and 1912 became a turning point for the

The Mafia And The Mafia
original name in Italy.Mafia originated in Sicily today in Italy and Corsica in France, and refers to
the criminal organization of a local secret association.
Today, these criminal organizations are not only active in Italy. For more than 100 years (mainly
in the early 20th century), they have spread all over the world, especially on the east coast of the
United States, with the migration of Italians. Their forces in the United States rose during the Great
Depression and reached their height by the mid 20th century until a series of FBI investigations
broke down in the 1970s and 1980s. Their actions include assassinations, illegal trade and
obstruction of justice. Although their power is far behind, they still affect the trend culture of the
United States. Many movies, TV shows and even advertisements are related to their image or life.
Today, the term mafiarefers not only to these Italian offenders. Affected by the organization, similar
groups of mafias, such as the Russian mafia, have emerged in other parts of the world. Sometimes
referred to as local mafia, these elements are still referred to by the daily mafia, still referring to
the group of Sicilian criminals in the United States. On the other hand, the same is Italian, but the
criminal organization located in Napoli is not called the mafia, but another name is Camorra .
Mafia English Mafia is derived from Arabic, meaning flight . The term is borrowed to refer to a

Questions On The And The Doctrine Of God
On How to Beg God to Exist
Man loves God. It is as natural a love to Man as any other is. For millennia the notion of divinity
has ruled the minds of peoples the world over, its power to foster social cohesion and social
conflict at the heart of its aversion to senescence. However, can such a consequential notion have
as its foundation a logical proof? Arguments in the affirmative abound. Let us examine one in
particular, that of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Five Ways. As we do this, we will consider SГёren
Kierkegaard s claim that any logical proof of God s existence assumes God already exists, that God
is necessary for reality to exist (Swenson). Let us establish the logical proof offered by Aquinas
and then determine whether we could reach the same conclusions assuming God does not exist, and
employ Occam s razor.
The Way of Motion
a)Nothing can be reduced from a state of potentiality into a state of actuality, unless by something
already in a state of actuality.
b)Nothing can be both moved and mover, or the mover of itself, from the same point of view and
in the same sense.
c)Whatever is in motion is put in motion by another.
d)This cannot go on infinitely.
e)Therefore, the First Mover must be what we understand as God.
Point d) of the argument is where Aquinas reveals that he has already assumed God s existence.
Aquinas states with certainty that an infinite causal loop is impossible, but does not explain why
(Kessler, 574). Why must this be the case? Even if the

Bruce Springsteen Is Known For His Genuine And Relatable
Bruce Springsteen is known for his genuine and relatable poems. He composes poems based on

Nowhere to run ain t go nowhere to go (29). He was born in the U.S.A. and his country has used

Leaving The Cold also displays the unifying pattern of narrative and refrain. This poem was

Reasoned Action Theory
Article Critique Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behavior
Purpose/ Objectives
The purpose of the study conducted was to understand the use of sunscreen amongst children in
fourth grade using the theory of reasoned action and planned behavior. (Martin, Jacobsen, Lucas,
Branch, Ferron, 1999) The authors hypothesized that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived
behavioral control would be associated with intentions to use sunscreen and as a result, would
translate to actual sunscreen use. (Martin et al., 1999)
Methods
The study was conducted in Hillsborough County, Florida, which is ideal for the study because of
its subtropical climate. The sample consisted of fourth grade students who were recruited from one
of the three public schools scheduled to receive a skin cancer educational program during the
months of February, March, and April (when data collection occurred). The authors do not... Show

The authors did not mention their reasoning for not including the other constructs. However,
measuring the perceived power would have allowed for a better understanding of what the children
felt made the use of sunscreen difficult or easy for them, while evaluation of outcomes would allow
the authors to measure how important the children viewed the results of using sunscreen.

Change Management At The Workplace
CHANGE MANAGEMENT IN THE WORKPLACE THOMAS M. GILL WAYLAND
BAPTIST UNIVERSITY Change management in the working setting is constant for all
Managers and leaders alike. To stay applicable and competitive businesses, managers, and
supervisors should as often as possible reclassify their technique for working, item/benefit
offerings and the impact this may have on your team, or shareholders. (Holmes, 2013) for
instance when we lead change (vast or minute) see to it that these four fundamentals are on your
agenda of things to do; make a feeling of earnestness, make a reasonable tomorrow, get people
consideration and get people involved at the right level, have clear actions or expectations and
desires. Nevertheless, managing change in the workplace shapes a feeling of uneasiness for a
great many people, any change is uncomfortable. Therefore, while we oversee changes in the
work environment, it is our obligation to help people in understanding that whatever they have
done truly should now change. Therefore, Managers and leaders must work to jump start interest
of purpose to get individuals excited to work out of their usual range of familiarity and grasp the
change. (Holmes, 2013) Let shareholders know why the old way is no more viable, by disclosure
persuading and genuine proof that individuals can feel, see, and touch that change must happen.
Whether we understand it or not, change is important in an association for it to keep being relevant
as a business, or for it to

Short Story About Being Spanish
So far, I ve survived more than half my day. Well, I guess if you called being stared at, whispered
about and dead tired all day, survived. But honestly, I m used to it by now. I don t really care,
because I ve just been trying not to think about the date with Sam I have tomorrow night, he texted
me as I walked in schoolthis morning. That s all. A text.
I m sitting in 4th period Spanish with Kya, soundlessly writing down my notes. Today is one of
those days where you can t say anything in English at all. So, naturally, no one talks. Because why
would we want to participate in this?
Someone taps my shoulder gently, and I scribble my notes furiously so I can be done when I turn
around. I cautiously look up at the front of the room, and the ... Show more content on

I m gonna be frank here: we ve been taking spanish since the 8th grade, and I didn t think Kya
knew any other language than English. And even then... So it surprises me for a minute that she
can actually speak spanish, instead of making fun of the characters expressions in the book.
I blink, but nod my head as I get an extra pencil from my bag. I sit back up, and hand the pencil to
Kya. I don t know why she d need a pencil in the last 5 minutes of class. Kya takes the pencil, and I
look back down at my desk. I look up at the clock, and see we have a minute left. I pack up my
stuff in my binder, and stack it on my desk. I take the note, and unfold it, noticing Kya looking over
my shoulder at it.
Slut. We all know you d sleep with anyone, but the fact that you slept with MY boyfriend... proves
how whore ible you are. Don t bother denying it, I heard him tell Eli this morning. Kasey
I look up from the note. My face is beet red, and I don t even know if I m thinking. This definitely
isn t the first time rumors have been spread about me, but everytime they do it still hurts a little.
What makes me even more mad though, is that he spread this. He wants to have the whole school
talk about me, fine. It ll happen to him

Why The Rich Should Pay Higher Taxes
What do you think would happen if the rich paid more taxes? Would there be a better economy
or would it be worst, maybe even stay the same. Increasing the taxes would help out our
economy in a few ways. one way that it would help out our economy is that not only would there
be less of a concentration of profit at the top of our social ladder there would be more revenue
for the funding of civil union jobs. Also not to mention causing the bigger corporations to have to
pay more so they would be unable to escape with the majority of the illegal activity they do today.
Lastly if the government were to crack down on offshoring it would help with collecting taxes and
the money would return to the people and back into circulation for our economy. Here are some
reasons why the rich should pay higher taxes.
One of the obvious reasons to raise the taxes of the rich would be because they simply earn
more. One example is if two people started the year off with fifty thousand but then let us say one
had a rich family member that died and they had received millions through a will, then say they
received a gift of one billion by the end of the year they pay the same taxes even though one of
they are now a billionaire (Cohen). The reason is that the government does not tax on gifts or wills
so then they would not have to pay more taxes if they received a gift that had consisted of a large
sum of cash (Cohen). Now there is a large chunk of change out of circulation and now the middle

Teresa won 18 awards for being an amazing humanitarian that many aspired to me, and act like.
Being a humanitarian means she did actions to help out other people before thinking about
herself. Most of her life was fully devoted to helping the poor, the sick, the needy, and the
helpless. She grew up in the Roman Catholic Church and decided to devote her life to God at a
very early age. When she was 18 she joined the Sisters of Loreto to become a missionary in India
even though she needed work hard before hand since she needed to learn English, and the local
language where she would be moving. She taught at schools for many years in India and ended
up becoming the headmistress at a school in eastern Calcutta. She is best known for sticking up
for the rights of the sick and helpless. When She left home for india she never saw her mother,
or sister again. Her father died when she was really young, leaving her mother to take care of her
and her two siblings all by herself. Despite the challenges her family faced, her mother was one
of the greatest people to look up to as she was growing up because she had to sacrifice everything
to care for her family after a tragic incident happened and she still managed to care for others as
well. Mother Teresa followed her mother

for decades with high quality products. Nintendo owes much of it s success to it s marketing
strategy especially early in it s development. The first Nintendo console to be offered in the United
States was made available during a time when the video game market in the U.S. had just gone
through a major decline. In the early 1980 s, American consumers typically associated video games
with low quality products. The first Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was launched in Japan
in 1983 and in response to the United States negative feelings towards gaming, was released to U.S.
consumers in 1985. In order to effectively penetrate the American gaming market place, it required
a well thought out marketing plan that would differentiate Nintendo s product from the previous
video games that had disappointed Americans so much.
The lack of consumer confidence in the United States was partially due to the misrepresentation of
video games by marketers beginning in the 1970 s and into the early 1980 s. One of Nintendo s
marketing ideas was to make their box art

Daniel Boorstin s The Image
In his groundbreaking book The Image, historian Daniel Boorstin described how our culture had
created a thicket of unreality which stands between us and the facts of life. 2 Taken together,
telegraphy, photography, radio, cinema, and television brought forth the pseudo event, an
occurrence staged to call attention to itself.
Boorstin was not just concerned with the now familiar photo op or media event. He put his finger
on a much larger problem. Americans not only confused the copy with the original but also
actually preferred the copy to the original. News was no longer gathered; it was made. The
traveler, a person who travails, had been replaced with the tourist a person who stays at American
hotels in France made to look like French ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In some ways, the navel gazing that goes on in social media has made us all stars within the

What do Jackson, Elvis, Monroe, and Sinatra have in common? None of them committed heroic
deeds. Nevertheless, each contributed substantially to modern show business. Before World War II,
the singer was subordinate to the orchestra in billing and score. But when Columbia Records

The Trail Of Tears By Andrew Jackson
The Trail of Tears was a testament to the cruelty and disrespect we showed toward the Native
Americans. This paper will show how the United States used its legislative power and brute force to
remove the Indian tribes. From the election of Andrew Jackson, and the implementation of the
Indian Removal Act. The Creeks, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole and their actions against the
removal process. Finally, how the Cherokeeused the legal process to fight evacuation of their nation.
Andrew Jackson was not the first president to order the removal of Indians, but he is definitely
the most infamous. He was elected as the seventh president of the United States in 1828. Not
long after being sworn into office he began to push the issue of Indian removal. He is quoted in a
book by John Ehle as saying Build a fire under them. When it gets hot enough they ll move (Ehle
220). He is stating that with enough harassment and persistence the natives will be moved from
their land. Under Jackson s promotion the Indian Removal Act was passed in 1830. This granted
him the authority to begin moving the Native Americans to the west of the Mississippi River. So,
over the next two decades the Native Americans were removed from their eastern lands and
relocated to what is present day Oklahoma. Those who could not be negotiated with were forcefully
removed. Some even sought legal action and won, like in 1832 the Supreme Court ruled the federal
government must protect the Cherokee nation. However,

Sociology and Social Structure
Social structure is the way society is organized into predictable relationships. There are five
elements when you break down social structure. The first being status. We usually associate
having a status to the amount of influence, wealth and fame. But sociologists use the term status
to refer to any of the full range of socially defined positions within a large group or society, from
the lowest to the highest. Examples of this are being a son or daughter, dental technician or the
president of the United States. Sociologists also see some status to be achieved or ascribed and an
ascribed status is when a person is assigned to it by society without regard for the person s unique
talents or characteristics. But the achieved status comes to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Technology is defines how the society is and it means that its information about how to use the
material resources of the environment to satisfy human needs and desires. The first type of
preindustrial society is the hunting and gathering society, because they rely on whatever foods
and fibers are readily available. Technology is minimal in this society. Later Horticultural societies
used plant seeds and crops rather then subsist on available foods. People become less nomadic and
place more emphasis on the production of tools and household objects. The last stage in the
preindustrial development is the agrarian society. They primarily engage in the production of food.
Technology seems to grow but is still quite basic. A industrial society is a society that depends on
mechanization to produce its goods and services. THey rely on new inventions that facilitate
agricultural and industrial production, and on new sources of energy, such as steam. The
postindustrial society is an economic system that engages primarily in the processing and control of
information. It focused on services rather than manufactured goods. Large numbers of people
become involved in occupations devoted to the teaching, generation, or dissemination of ideas. Two
specific sociologist had there own ideas about modern societies. Emile Durkheim agreed that social

Water Political Authority Essay
The Construction of Water as a Political Entity
Mallorie Iozzo
POLI 100 A
Dr. David Foley
December 8th, 2017
For humans, drinking water is a biological necessity. As with any resource, however, access to
water is often limited. This is based on a combination of circumstances constructing water as an
economically based, commodified resource. The control, regulation, and treatment of water by
political bodies determines who has access to the resource. In the United States, this results in the
interaction of Municipal, State, and Federal branches of government. The interaction of these
bodies as related to the governance of water depends upon the prioritization of drinking water for
the people. Ultimately, the difference... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Given the appropriate circumstances, it strengthens powers to the federal government in the event
standards are violated. This involves the direct action, such as providing bottled water to citizens
(Tiemann 2017). Previously, support of the states in water control took the form of grant
allocations. It was difficult to enforce or act upon the Water PollutionControl Act without concrete
standards outlined in the Clean Water Act or the Safe Drinking Water Act. Since then, there has
been minimal attention to Clean water in the U.S. legal system. Subsequent legislation has
addressed primarily non potable sources.
Within the international community, drinking water is considered a right by the United Nations.
On July 28th, 2010, they passed Resolution 292, which states it:
Recognizes the right to safe and clean drinking water and sanitation as a human right that is
essential for the full enjoyment of life and all human rights... ( Resolution adopted by the General
Assembly , 2). The United Nations, though bearing questionable enforcement power, encouraged a
decade long initiative surrounding clean water action. This initiative, titled Water for Life led to
water sanitation improvement for 2.6 billion people ( International Decade for Action WATER
FOR LIFE 2005 2015 ). This is the environment in which U.S. policy behaves.
Though sanitation is less of an issue, safe, reliable drinking water resources are difficult to find

1.Differentiate between the significance of the coefficients in a balanced chemical equation and the
significance of the subscripts in a chemical formula.
В·Coefficients show the correct proportions of atoms and molecules in a chemical reaction. They
are normal sized numbers placed at the beginning of the chemical formulas in a chemical reaction
during the process of balancing. They tell how many of an entire chemical formula is in a reaction.
В·Subscripts show the correct proportions of atoms/ions in a chemical formula. They are the small
numbers within the chemical formula. They tell how many individual atoms/ions are present.

7.What is plasma?
В·Plasma has neither a definite volume nor a definite shape.
В·Plasma is often seen within ionized gases.
В·Plasma is distinct from a gas because it possesses unique properties: oIt contains free electrical
charges (not bound to atoms or ions) oIt can be produced by heating and ionizing a gas. В·Plasma
is often found in areas of the planet/universe where extremely high heats are possible and gases
exist to help create the plasma.
8.Put hydrogen bonds, dispersion forces and dipole dipole forces in order of how strong they are
and give an example of each type of attraction.
В·Strongest = Hydrogen bonds which have hydrogen attached to a fluorine, oxygen, or nitrogen
(Example: Oxygen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of H2O s)
В·Medium Strength = Dipole Dipole bonds which occur between the slight positive end of one
polar molecule and the slight negative end of another polar molecule (Example: Nitrogen s
attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of NH3 s)
В·Weakest = Dispersion forces which occur in any covalently bonded molecule (Example:
Hydrogen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of CH4 s) Г Note 1: These are
intermolecular forces of attraction so they occur OUTSIDE of the molecules! Г Notes 2: One
covalent bond can be all three types at once.

The most common users of CAM are women, people with higher education, and those who used
allopathic medicine (Najm, Reinsch, Hoehler, Tobis, 2003). In addition, CAM use is higher
among people living in rural areas than urban areas (Marshik et al,. 2016). CAM utilization can
be associated with psychosocial factors, ethnic and cultural characteristic, availability of health
care resources, and individual perception of physical and medical condition (Saunjoo Jeong Hee,
2013). The range of CAM treatments includes acupuncture, massage therapy, yoga, herbal
medicine, chiropractic, and homeopathy (Walker et al,. 2017). The increased use of CAM among
the general community has been attributed to the view that CAM is safer and less expensive than
conventional medications. However, there has been largely a lack of scientific data surrounding
CAM therapies, influenced by variation in knowledge level and lack of appreciation of existing
evidence (Walker et al,. 2017). Knupp, Esmail Warren (2009) indicated that occupational therapy
and CAM focus on actively engaging the patient in their treatment to involve the whole person, in
order to increase the quality of life and overall health. Knupp, Esmail Warren (2009) conducted a

  • 2. My First Shot It was almost midnight when he caught up to me. I knew it was time. I picked a spot next to the large cave I found under the brush. He was coming quickly and I heard the dogs with him. When he was within range I turned slightly and yelled in pure terror, or thats what he thought. Waiting for him to shoot I pretended to struggle and and scramble in the brush while he pulled out his pistol. I knew the way it worked, I had been in his dungeons listening to the gun shots for weeks. I knew he would shoot my arm first to stop me, then my legs, then one last shot in my heart to kill me. I waited for the first shot. It grazed my arm but that wasn t good enough, I yelled as if it struck my heart, then fell into the pool as he fired off the last... I also wanted to know what he was going to do with the poor fellow who walked into his doom last night. The sun was just disappearing over the ocean when I found a small alcove and saw the man who had walked past me enter the castle. I felt a small amount of pity for him, but not enough to distract me from the fact that I know men in America who would pays millions of dollars to own this island along with the things on it. I waited a good hour before starting my journey to the mansion. I witnessed him leave the castle, obviously on the hunt again. I knew this was my time to strike. • 3. The Poverty Of The United Kingdom Essay Child contingent support In the United Kingdom, a commitment to end child poverty forever was a stated key ambition of the incoming Labour administration in 1997 (Blair, 1999). Many of the measures designed to achieve this outcome (or the marginally more modest intention to halve child poverty by 2010) were about the provision of new or enhanced services rather than the transfer of resources. Stewart (2013, 5) estimates that spending on child contingent benefits and tax credits more or less doubled across the period of Labour government, while child related services saw a dramatic increase from around ВЈ 671 per child in 1997/8 to ВЈ2,514 per child in 2009/10. Part of this increase related to the Sure Start programme and the funded expansion of early education. There was also legislation to increase the duration of maternity leave and to implement statutory paternity leave. A commitment to lowering staff pupil ratios in state schools was part of a (long term) investment in the well being of children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Increased expenditure on pre school childcare was also seen as easing the route back to work for mothers with young children (Stewart 2013). There was a further step change in the resources directed to children (via their parents). This included an increase in the universal child benefit where spending increased in real terms (at 2009/10 prices) from ВЈ9,134 million (in 1997/8) to ВЈ12,460 million (in 2009/10). There was ... The cause of the failure was that the shuttle s O ring seal in the right rocket booster failed while at liftoff, allowing pressurized gas from the rocket to reach the adjacent SRB aft field joint attachment hardware and external fuel tanks, causing structural failure and aerodynamic forces to tear it apart. The O ring wasn t designed to operate under the very cold conditions during the launch. The technology involved was the O ring and joints of the shuttle s rocket boosters. In the story, Titanic, written by Hanson W. Baldwin and in the story, Notes from a Bottle, written by James Stevenson both portray a disaster that happened to many individuals that may or may not have cost them their lives. Fictional stories have a more emotional impact on readers, and they develop feelings for the characters. On the other hand, non fictional stories are more factual, and are more real than they are personal. In the story, Titanic, by Hanson W. In the story, Titanic, author Hanson W. Baldwin uses factual information to support his main idea about the tragedy of the shipwreck, Titanic. Baldwin states facts to make the story more realistic. Towards the end of the story Baldwin writes, The Titanic had carried boats enough for 1,178 persons, only one third of her capacity. Her sixteen boats and four collapsibles had saved but 711 persons; 400 people had needlessly lost their lives. (Baldwin, 405). Structural changes are what are implemented as a penalty for not changing behaviors, typically an example of this is laws and regulations that create a penalty for behaviors in order to change whatever problem is at hand. First, how can the cognitive approach be utilized in order to change healthcare access to rural Americans? Comparing the Gilgamesh and Genesis Floods The rendition of the historic, worldwide Flood recorded in Genesis of the Old Testament is similar to the account recorded on Tablet 11of the Sumero Babylonian version of the epic of Gilgamesh, discovered in the 1800 s by British archaeologists in Assyria. Let us compare the two in this essay. Alexander Heidel in his book, The Gilgamesh Epic and Old Testament Parallels, provides a background for the survivor of the Sumero Babylonian Flood, Utnapishtim: Utnapishtim was the son of Ubara Tutu, the Otiartes, or, rather, Opartes of Berossus. On the contrary, the Judaic version of the Flood in Genesis states in 6:5 8 a very clear, explicit reason for the Flood: The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that very imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them. • 17. The Cyclical Teen Musical Film The Cyclical Teen Musical Film Considered by Jane Feuer to be the only form of musical that retains widespread popularity (123), the teen musical film is a cyclical sub genre of the musical film that keeps coming back again and again since the 1960s, proving that it is a sub genre here to stay. And since this is a cyclical sub genre, its historical development is also cyclical in matter: it develops slightly throughout the cycle, as per many other filmgenres, but always seems to return back to its original narrativestructure and conventions, even through the stylistic and sociocultural changes throughout the decades. Each time the teen musical filmhas come back into mainstream popularity, the films are always characterized by their dual focus structure primarily a male female main character pairing and the two thematic elements typical of youth films, as described by Timothy Shary: the growing up theme, and a conformity/rebellion binary. The only changes are caused by sociocultural means, including, but not limited to, the Rock n Roll musicals of the 70 s, the Punk musicals beginning in the late 70 s, and the female centered narratives of the 80s. Ever since the introduction of sound in the late 1920s and 1930s, the film musical has been a prominent genre. From the perspective of a feminist, Williams actions urge for greater awareness and advocacy to stop the sexualized violence as well as the degradation of women across Canada and the world. • 20. Descartes Proof Of The Existence Of God One of the most important ideas upon which Descartes s proof of the existence of God rests is that rational minds face constraints. While God is the absolute infinite, humans and other beings exist with limitations on their actions. One of these limitations is human intellect, which Descartes names as one component of the cause of our tendency toward error as humans. The finite nature of human intellect, he argues, combines with an infinite will which causes us to seek an understanding of phenomena beyond our intellectual limitations. This is where humans make errors, according to Descartes. Although he argues that intellect is constrained in the face of free will, the presentation of intellect as a static limitation seems to fall short. Rather, it makes more sense to advance the idea of intellect as a dynamic concept which, although limited, is capable of advancing toward a greater, more accurate understanding of the mind and world. In his Fourth Meditation, Descartes aims to achieve a distinction between truth and falsity and, more particularly, what leads to human error and thus results in false understandings. In doing so, Descartes notes that humans make mistakes which is, of course, unarguably true. Very briefly, the idea of a demon deceiver God is contemplated, but ruled out due to the quality of deceiving being an imperfection. This rejection allows for a discussion of how humans exist relative to a God that embodies the absolute infinite. In this discussion, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Middle Class A blue collar worker that makes 25 thousand dollars a year is put in the same socioeconomic class as an engineer making 200 thousand dollars based on the Pew Research Center s Calculation of middle class. The definition of middle class lumps those making four times the median United States income with those living paycheck to paycheck and feeling like they live more impoverished than anything leading to a confusion in identity. Is the lower middle supposed to feel proud and content with their situation considering they are categorized with engineers, doctors, and lawyers, or are they to feel impoverished because if they took a 5 thousand dollar pay cut, they would be below the povertyline? The gap between the lower middle and the upper middle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Joe Carter in What Exactly Does argues that the term middle class is too broad of a classification of a socioeconomic class. Carter uses income facts of the middle class ranging from 40,000 to 250,000 dollars a year from the Pew research center to demonstrate the income inequality in the middle class. Carter argues that the wide ranging middle class makes it difficult to make policies that help the lower middle without also helping the upper middle because they are grouped in the same classification of socioeconomic status. When policies like the 529 bill created by Obama in order to help the middle class attend college, they help the upper middle class which already lives comfortably according to Carter, increasing the economic gap. In a different take on carter s ideologies, the authors Janny Scott and David Leonhardt describe class lines as blurry because people live lavishly beyond their class, but still firm barriers because the gaps of lifespan, health, and style of life between classes still continues to grow. The Origin of The Japanese Values of Precision And Punctuality Introduction Precision and punctuality is believed to be the order of the day in the Japanese society in both workplaces and social settings. Punctuality is highly regarded as an important factor that has contributed to the success of the Japanese economy in global scene. In 2013, the train transport between Osaka and Tokyo recorded an average delay of six seconds only. There is a deep sense of respect for other people s businesses with concerns that such activities should not be interrupted due to lateness. • 31. Questions On The And The Doctrine Of God On How to Beg God to Exist Man loves God. It is as natural a love to Man as any other is. For millennia the notion of divinity has ruled the minds of peoples the world over, its power to foster social cohesion and social conflict at the heart of its aversion to senescence. However, can such a consequential notion have as its foundation a logical proof? Arguments in the affirmative abound. Let us examine one in particular, that of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Five Ways. As we do this, we will consider SГёren Kierkegaard s claim that any logical proof of God s existence assumes God already exists, that God is necessary for reality to exist (Swenson). Let us establish the logical proof offered by Aquinas and then determine whether we could reach the same conclusions assuming God does not exist, and employ Occam s razor. The Way of Motion a)Nothing can be reduced from a state of potentiality into a state of actuality, unless by something already in a state of actuality. b)Nothing can be both moved and mover, or the mover of itself, from the same point of view and in the same sense. c)Whatever is in motion is put in motion by another. d)This cannot go on infinitely. e)Therefore, the First Mover must be what we understand as God. Point d) of the argument is where Aquinas reveals that he has already assumed God s existence. Aquinas states with certainty that an infinite causal loop is impossible, but does not explain why (Kessler, 574). Why must this be the case? Even if the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Why The Rich Should Pay Higher Taxes What do you think would happen if the rich paid more taxes? Would there be a better economy or would it be worst, maybe even stay the same. Increasing the taxes would help out our economy in a few ways. one way that it would help out our economy is that not only would there be less of a concentration of profit at the top of our social ladder there would be more revenue for the funding of civil union jobs. Also not to mention causing the bigger corporations to have to pay more so they would be unable to escape with the majority of the illegal activity they do today. Lastly if the government were to crack down on offshoring it would help with collecting taxes and the money would return to the people and back into circulation for our economy. Here are some reasons why the rich should pay higher taxes. One of the obvious reasons to raise the taxes of the rich would be because they simply earn more. One example is if two people started the year off with fifty thousand but then let us say one had a rich family member that died and they had received millions through a will, then say they received a gift of one billion by the end of the year they pay the same taxes even though one of they are now a billionaire (Cohen). The reason is that the government does not tax on gifts or wills so then they would not have to pay more taxes if they received a gift that had consisted of a large sum of cash (Cohen). Now there is a large chunk of change out of circulation and now the middle /lower ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Finally, how the Cherokeeused the legal process to fight evacuation of their nation. Andrew Jackson was not the first president to order the removal of Indians, but he is definitely the most infamous. He was elected as the seventh president of the United States in 1828. Not long after being sworn into office he began to push the issue of Indian removal. He is quoted in a book by John Ehle as saying Build a fire under them. When it gets hot enough they ll move (Ehle 220). He is stating that with enough harassment and persistence the natives will be moved from their land. Under Jackson s promotion the Indian Removal Act was passed in 1830. This granted him the authority to begin moving the Native Americans to the west of the Mississippi River. So, over the next two decades the Native Americans were removed from their eastern lands and relocated to what is present day Oklahoma. Those who could not be negotiated with were forcefully removed. Water Political Authority Essay The Construction of Water as a Political Entity Mallorie Iozzo POLI 100 A Dr. David Foley December 8th, 2017 For humans, drinking water is a biological necessity. As with any resource, however, access to water is often limited. This is based on a combination of circumstances constructing water as an economically based, commodified resource. The control, regulation, and treatment of water by political bodies determines who has access to the resource. In the United States, this results in the interaction of Municipal, State, and Federal branches of government. The interaction of these bodies as related to the governance of water depends upon the prioritization of drinking water for the people. Ultimately, the difference...
