Guidance Services
CHAPTER I BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Introduction Historically, the term guidance has
been used in the field of education to designate the assistance given to students in the solution of
problems that lay outside the area of classroom teaching situations. For instance, ever since the first
decade of the present century, guidance has meant, to a large extent, the guidance of students in the
area of vocational problems. By about 1925, a growing number of colleges and universities were
providing guidance services for their students. These activities were more commonly referred to as
student personnel services. Today, these services constitute an all embracing program of assistance
to students; this program, of course, includes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Third, this study will make the school aware of the present conditions of the Guidance Office
and the assessment of the students of its program. Conscious of the status of the Guidance
Office, the school will be able to make the necessary actions to improve its sector of guidance
and counseling. And lastly, the findings of this research paper can be used by other researchers
as a source of secondary data in their respective future related studies. Scope and Limitations of
the Study This research study deals primarily with the assessment of the Guidance Program,
more specifically, of the High School Guidance Office. Furthermore, this study will include 139
respondents who will answer a well prepared set of questionnaires for the different components
of the study that will measure the following: level of awareness of students of its programs,
availability of guidance counselor, effectiveness of the Testing Program, effectiveness of the
Career Guidance Program, conduciveness of the Guidance Office, accessibility of the Guidance
Office, and attainment of its objectives. The questionnaire will be distributed by the research
group itself. Similarly, this research study will also determine which of the Guidance Services do
seniors find most and least helpful as well as the seniors overall assessment of the Guidance
Program. And lastly, this study will be limited to only seniors of SBC Rizal Batch

Women Athletic Trainers in the NFL
Women in the National Football League The NFL is a man s world where each and every man
is out on the field to show off his athleticism. Every aspect of the game, whether it is on the field
or on the side lines, is predominately male. However, there is an area of the NFL that women could
become a part of. Women could become athletic trainers for the NFL. An athletic trainer is a health
care specialist that focuses on prevention of injury and rehab to recuperate athletes (Summary).
Currently there are no women employed in the NFL although one womanused to work for the
Pittsburgh Steelers (Mihoces). There are many people that agree that women should be able to
work in the NFL, but there are also many people that do not believe women... Show more content

It is unnerving to have a woman in the same room while players are showering and changing. It is
also awkward for the female athletic trainer to be present when men all around her are changing
and showering. A second argument for those who oppose is that women are seen as pushovers
in the training room. Stereotypically, women are seen as dainty, elegant people that cannot
stand up in an authority position over the gigantic football brutes. Likewise, it is awkward for a
female athletic trainer to demonstrate her power over the coach. If the athletic trainer believes
that the team needs a water break, it is his or her obligation to inform the coach, and sometimes
it can get pretty dicey between the athletic trainer and the coach. Also, if an athletic trainer will
not clear a player to be able to return to play, the coach and the athletic trainer can become very
argumentative and irrational. If the athletic trainer is female, the coach believes that she will hold
grudges like most other females they know. The final argument is that women can be a
distraction to the players. If there is a female on the field, the players could get distracted and not
be able to focus clearly on the task at hand. Almost following the same line, there is a big hazard
potential. Sexual harassment is a big issue in any work environment, but imagine how much more
of a hazard this would be. The hazard potential of sexual harassment

Company of Wal-Mart
Wal Mart Stores Inc. is the largest retail company in the United States and has been ranked
number one on the Fortune 500 Index by Fortune Magazine. However despite the fact that the
company is big, it has not survived or evaded the normal challenges that corporations go through,
irrespective of whether private or public (David, 2012). For instance, the living wage bill of the
United States resulted in Wal Mat threatening to close down its stalls in the United States. Due to
its resolution to cutting down on its employees, Wal Mart has also been characterized by customer
complaints as a result of empty shelves.
This served as an advantage to the competitors such as the Kohl s, Safeway, Target, and Walgreens.

Liquidity Is A Essential Part Of Any Security Market
Liquidity is a vital part of any security market. Liquidity expense is commonly incorporated with
the cost of a security. Higher liquidity inferred lower holding cost for the bond. Illiquidity suggests
that the investor will bring about higher expense for holding the stock of the said bond. Market
liquidity is influenced by various patterned, auxiliary, and approach related components. Leven
however liquidity estimation is a troublesome errand and subject to discuss yet liquidity in
government security markets is of enthusiasm to policymakers on account of the a wide range of

Learning Can Not Be Based Off Of One Certain Type Of...
There are many learning myths in society today, many of which are incorrect and have no
supporting evidence. These myths fall from learning styles to how much brain power humans use.
The fallacies cause many students to fail if they feel they don t fit into these myths. Debunking
common misunderstood styles of learningwill allow the learner to achieve in any subject. Learning
styles, cramming, and brain usage all are common myths that are believed by many student.
Learning should not be based off of one certain type of learner, or the ideal student. This provides
a thought of no room for improvement if one doesn t learn the right way , I agree we learn
differently, but I believe making students all learn the same way in insufficient.... Show more

This common misconception could be harmful to students because it provides an excuse to their
shortfalls instead of forcing them to adapt to their situation and becoming stronger because of it. As
it also limits students and will create a misconception in the students brain that they aren t good
enough or smart enough, just because they have a different learning style. Another common belief
is that if someone waits until the last minute to study for a test, they will be under more pressure
and therefore perform better. This is another misconception because cramming for a test does not
actually help you retain information better. The people who believe this simply have not
developed the discipline or effort to study consistently so they procrastinate until the last minute to
begin their studying, which hurts them in the long run. According to Study Skills, the best
solution to this is to divide one s study time over a period of days and weeks, so that there s not
that much to learn when it s time for a test. This is excellent advice that has been proven time and
time again to improve test scores and performance overall. All someone must do is study efficiently
and they will be able to remember enough to perform well on almost any test in any instance.
Studying efficiently comes from experiencing different studying styles,

My Favorite Christmas Season
Are you serious Clark ? Is one of the famous sayings you ll hear my dad quoting throughout the
Christmas season. Christmas is my absolute favorite season, and I do quite know the reason.
Christmas was always filled with a lot of joyous experiences; my entire family always became so
happy immediately after the Thanksgiving Holiday ended. My dad probably influenced me the
most when it comes to Christmas; because the Christmas season was the only time his dysfunctional
familyunified.
My favorite part about Christmas was all of the traditions my family had. The first one was
watching the movie National Lampoon s Christmas Vacation on Thanksgiving night while starting
to decorate the house for Christmas. My family and I never wasted any time on getting into the
Christmas Spirit, but it really has never taken much for us to get into it. Usually, within the next
day or two, we would go out in our front wheel drive sleigh and find that one perfect Christmas tree
that was a little full and had a lotta sap . Every year my dad would cut it down with the same dull
saw that he said the previous year he was going to replace and it was always quite comical
watching him cut the tree down; sometimes I thought it would have been faster if he just dug it out
of the ground with his bare hands. If you have watched Christmas

Best Prevention Of Falls Prevention
The worksite of many companies can become an area of danger, and an important task for the
Safety and Health professional is to develop a plan that will decrease the number of work related
injuries. More than 16 percent of all disabling work related injuries are the results of falls.
(Gortsch, 2011) The best prevention of falls is to figure out what causes the falls, and to develop a
guard system that will increase safetyawareness and lower the number of injuries. A proactive
approach for the prevention of falls is to know the primary causes that led up to these injuries.
Inquiries like, was there a foreign object on the surface, or a design flaw with the surface, was the
surface wet/icy, or did the injured worker have a physical impairment

This Is Our Life Poem Comparison
Both of the poems mentioned that because of science fiction we are seeing the world differently.
Instead of seeing the real effects of how we are and what we do we see things to be a fantasy.
Seeing how we re not paying attention to the actual surroundings we don t really think about why
things happen. We just see things as normal because it s something we don t really think about. In
the first poem the opening started out with This is not a fantasy, this is our life. Throughout this
poem it mentions that we are the inventors and that we are the people who make the changes with
our surroundings. Being in charge of this gives us an important role on the things that we hold
together. The second poem just speaks about the negative things about this kind of genrebecause it
denies how things actually are.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They appear in many things telling us why our surroundings are a certain way and why we make
things be how they are. But the way that it is told on us it just makes us not see the reality of the
things and by that we don t really pay attention on what is occurring. The fact that people want to
get rid of the genre is reasonable because it s just like hearing false propaganda. We must be able
to see how the things we can cause and not be told we have nothing to do with everything that is
around us. It s a bad genre and the way it wants to get removed probably won t have a bad effect on
people because then they would need to stop believing the fictional things and start thinking about
the things they

Flawed Performance Appraisals
The performance appraisals process is flawed in many ways. Lack of preparation, time, training,
and professionalism are a few examples of how the system is flawed. The individual completing
the application often has many tasks that supersedes taking the appropriate time necessary to
accurately keep notations of an employee s performance throughout the year. The lack of time
leads to an employee receiving a performance review on the most recent accounts of his or her
job performance instead of his or her performance throughout the entire year. Lack of
professionalism can also hurt the appraisal process. An employee should be rated by his or her job
duties instead of the personal opinion or feelings the manager or supervisor completing the form. All

The job description for each position is different and so should the evaluation process and
questioner. Each department in an organization needs to have guidelines set forth outlining the
duites, expectations, training model, and professional code and consistency among employees are
critical to the professional appraisal evaluation process. Each employee must be held to the same
accountability or the evaluation process becomes tainted by lack of consistency. Management
should always focus on the appraisal process as another of their job duties instead of over
thinking the task and rating an employee out of fear and retaliation or to prevent an employee
from receiving a raise or promotion. In addition, the for the appraisal process to be beneficial to
the company the outcome has to be to protect the company from liability or litigation from a
disgruntled employee and to boost the companies overall productivity ratings. When an employee
believes he or she has a hand in creating the plan to evaluate and change his or her performance the
changes are more likely to last rather than being told what changes need to

Computer Networks And The Modern World Essay
Computer network technology The subject I will be undergoing in my next year will be
Computer Network Technology BSc Hons. This subject looks at all aspects of computer
networking in the modern world. This course also gives many computing principles such as
systems analysis and database development. I have chosen this course because I have always
been interested in computing and have made a few database systems while working in the army.
I would like to learn more about network security and I hope to work in Germany for two years
before moving to America pursuing a career in network security. I have a keen interest in
networking and have done penetration testing for my old high school. After being made redundant
from the army I hope to improve my knowledge of computing and better my qualifications as
leaving college at nineteen to pursue a career in the military has made me realise that I should of
worked harder at college and gone to university. Knowledge This subject deals with all aspects of
computing but focuses mainly on computer networking. It will give the knowledge to be able to
explain, evaluate and apply techniques and methods to solve a range of computing problems.
Explain and apply project management tools and techniques. Identify, evaluate and justify
appropriate hardware, systems software and communications protocols required for network design
and implementation. Competently identify, assess and use tools and techniques for the

Sex in the City by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo Essay
I bought this book when I was in class 8th and had an enormous crush on a guy who liked by
then best friend. I loved the book so much that I recommended it to and even passed around my
copy to help those who weren t sure as to what was going on in their lives. Yes, I bought the
book. I was 14 then. The book was intended to empower girls to stop waiting for disinterested
guys. And it did emancipate the 14years old me from the unending pain! I realized that if a guy
liked me, he would make it obvious by telling me so, calling me regularly, taking me out, etc. and
if he does not do all this, he is not interested in me. My world was suddenly black and white.

They say so because although it seems that the guy gave the girl the control of the situation, in
reality of the authors world, this means that HE gets to choose whether to pick up her call or not.
However on planet Earth, the girl could have just called to fix a date.
And then there were dodgy suggestions like how a woman should never ever ask a man out because
men are conditioned to lead. The guy could be as unsure of your feelings as you are of his, or he
could be shy! I say WHY NOT ask a man out!
Many women play the martyr in relationships with men who don t treat them well because many
women feel so devoted to their partners that they are afraid of losing them. They sometimes delude
themselves with fantasies about why the partner still loves them despite all the signs pointing
otherwise. This isn t gender specific! Guys are just as delusional as women when in love! They too
would try to save the relationship by playing the martyr .
Real life is not so black and white, and this highly sexist, misogynistic book assumes that it is.
Unluckily, relationships are perilously perched in the grey and that s what makes them hard and
complicated. We are humans after all. We hurt and shape each other all the time. It is unfair to hold
men responsible for initiating all hetero relationships, casual or serious. Men are equally affected by
work pressure, family environment and heartbreaks!

Personal Jurisdiction In The United States
In a moment of our lives we have heard or experiment the word jurisdiction, whether in a legal
problem, television, radio, newspaper or school. Jurisdiction is used in legal problems that means
the right or power in a territory to interpret and apply the law. Can be defined as the law to speak
to interpret and apply the law. Jurisdictionhave many meanings but if someday we have a legal
problem we can use it in our favor. Jurisdiction refers to the lawful right of legislative, executive,
or judicial branch to exercise official authority. (Reid 6). Jurisdiction have power in certain

divorces, guardianships, and trials of felonies. Courts can no decide cases for which they do not

Any court has jurisdiction over matter. A legal question of jurisdiction can be: jurisdiction to

Seven Steps to Solving the Housing Crisis
The crisis that America has found herself in, to be completely blunt and honest, all revolves around
stupidity and bad choices. American citizens that had absolutely no business even thinking of
buying a house flooded the market and were encouraged by greedy bankers that were out to make a
profit, without thinking of the consequences or morals involved. Now the governmenthas over
stepped their boundaries and are spending this country into such deep debt, which makes one think
that that light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train with no hope of slowing down, let
alone stopping. The solution to this economic crisis is outlined in seven easy baby steps: 1.
America needs to create a small emergency fund (at least a million... Show more content on

Houses would be paid for, jobs would open up, the stock market would probably not shift as
much as it does, welfare programs would become obsolete, over 70% of Americans would stop
living pay check to pay check, and everyone would retire with dignity. Everyone could get
themselves educated, which would make us all winners, and broke people would stop buying
houses that they can t afford. If everyone bought houses that they could afford then there would
be no more foreclosures; especially if everyone had an emergency fund to give them an alternative
if something happened. If businesses weren t built on debt, especially sole proprietorships, then
businesses wouldn t have to lay a bunch of people off or cut down productivity. America needs to
save to help take care of her people and Americans need to take care of themselves so that we all
win in the end.
Lastly, America needs to build a bunch of wealth and give a bunch of it away. This concept is
for the government and her people because when one gives and it becomes a habit, that person is
forever changed. It reminds them that it s not all about them. It s not about getting a bunch of
stuff that they can t afford to impress people that they don t even like. It s about taking care of
your neighbor; it s about being a selfless person and nation in a selfless world. America needs to

The courts gave limits to the application of section 49(2) by giving that the proof lies on the
person or accused (arrester) depending on the guardians of section 49(2), to show that his or her
action fell in the that particular section. The state had to show proof the root of the offence
committed goes beyond a sensible uncertainty.
The courts specified that section 49 needed a severer test, and that, that section shouldn t be given a
open minded meaning but rather, it should and must be interpreted and practiced but with limits
against the person that wants to depend on it (Burchell, 1997).
In Section 49, as it used to be, it was used by the law implementation agencies as a free means to
kill people. It was often seen as a discriminatory root most especially to the blacks mostly on the
receiving end. The continuation of this so called licence to kill people wasn t a surprising issue,
this was because the criminal justice system back then wasn t liable to the constitutional system

The Effects Of Gun Violence On The United States
In the United States, over the past few decades, gun violence has increased massively, leading to
over 10,000 gun related incidents in 2015. The main cause of the massive amount of violence in the
United States in recent decades is mainly because people who are in danger have no means to
protect themselves. This is why guns should be more accessible for citizens, so that they can
protect themselves in dangerous situations. Allowing citizens to conceal weapons would heavily
decrease the amount of incidents that occur because innocent people were unable to protect
themselves. Also, putting less control on guns would prevent crimes from even happening in the
first place. If a criminal had intentions of committing a crime, they would be much less willing if
they knew that they might possibly get shot trying to commit that crime. Thus, criminal activity
and violent crimes will cease to continue at such high rates and more people will have the ability
to protect themselves in dangerous situations. In areas with high crime rates, certain people are
more affected than others, such as minorities, children, and women. America is facing a
continuing epidemic of homicides among young black males. The number of black homicide
victims killed by guns is rising at a sharp rate of fifty four percent. Studies have shown that
consistently there are more black victims than white victims. A specific study done by the FBI has
shown that per 100,000 black lives, 18.07 of people were victims of

Essay On Women s Suffrage Movement
Since the early times, women were pictured as intellectually inferior to men but also a major
source of temptation and evil as well as the weaker sex (WIC). For example, Pandora, in Greek
mythology, was a woman who opened a forbidden box which then unleashed sin, plagues, and
unhappiness into the world. In the early 19th century, women were only allowed to work in
factories or, otherwise, stayed at home and did domestic work; the only professions that was
acceptable for them to do was to become a teacher or a writer. In the 1920 s, women gained the right
to vote. Throughout history, there has been many issues between the male and female genders,
most significantly with the female gender, but, the rights of women have soared since the early
times of history. Women have had fewer legal rights and career opportunities throughout history.
Their most significant professions were wifehood, taking care of the husband and making him
happy, and motherhood, taking care of the children and of the... Show more content on

This was known as the Women s Suffrage Movement. When the 19th Amendment was ratified on
August 18, 1920, women were given the right to vote, this right was called women suffrage. The
female citizens of the United States did not share the same rights as men, which included the right
to vote, in the beginning when the United States was founded. It was only when the Seneca Falls
convention was organized in New York by the abolitionists Elizabeth Cady Stantonand Lucretia
Mott when the women s rights movement launched on a national level. With this, the right to vote
became the centerpiece of the women s rights movement. Public awareness was raised when
Elizabeth Stanton, Lucretia Mott, and Susan B. Anthony created organizations. After a 70 year

Effect Of Put Call Parity Essay
Effects of put call parity.
Option traders ought to have a decent comprehension of one of the establishments of choice
estimating, the hypothesis of Put/Call Parity. Put/Call equality implies that the estimation of a call
alternative suggests a specific reasonable esteem for the comparing put, and visa versa. To clarify
why this evaluating relationship dependably holds, the whole contention depends on arbitrage. If
the estimation of puts and calls were to veer, arbitrageurs would venture into dispose of any
takeoff from put call equality by making a benefit on hazard free exchanges.
The relationship is strict just for European style choices yet the idea works for American style
alternatives in the wake of modifying for profits and intrigue rates. Dividends raise put values and
diminish call values. If the profit is expanded, the puts terminating after the ex profit date will
ascend in esteem, while the calls will diminish by a comparable amount. Changes in financing
costs have the inverse impact on put and call values. Rising loan fees increase call values and
reduce put values.
So what happens if the puts and requires a benefit are not in parity? There are various techniques
that can be utilized for choice arbitrage. The most normal are the change and turn around
conversion. The transformation includes having a long position in the stock while all the while
purchasing a put and offering a call (at a similar strike price). An invert transformation (frequently

Essay The Demon Lover
Natural Events: The Demon Lover ; The events in Elisabeth Bower s The Demon Lover ; can be
explained naturally. The story being as vague as it is leads most to concur with the title of the
story and imagine that there is a supernatural aspect in the story. In the short story, Kathleen has
returned to her home in London that has been abandoned during the bombing of World War II.
She is not expected, yet she finds a letter addressed to her on a table in the hallway. Twenty five
years has past since the leaving of her former lover during World War I. Kathleen s lover is had

would not say he was not going far away and would not be certain he was going to make it back.
Her lover could have been stationed close by or he could have went AWOL and stalked
Kathleen. If the person driving the taxi was Mrs. Kathleen Dover s former lover he must have
stalked her or had some else stalk her to know where she was staying. When Mrs. Dover feels a

The person in the taxi could have already been in the house at the time she had walked in and
watched her as she gathered her things. He now knowing she would not be able to carry all he

Export of Towel from Pakistan
INTRODUCTION
The export of towel from Pakistan to other countries is not generating much revenue but it has
some importance as Pakistan ranks with India and China among the world s leading towel
manufacturers. The towel export business is specially a good one for Karachi based producers,
bringing Pakistan $300 million each year from sales to the United States alone. It is also good for
urban Pakistanis seeking factory work According to the Towel Manufacturers Association of
Pakistan (TMA), the manufacture of nine tons of towels enough to fill a standard 20x20x8 foot
shipping container puts 485 Pakistani men and women to work.

offset by a marked improvement in the Export volume (US$ 62.0 million), resulting in a net gain of
US$ 46.1 million in export earnings.

Negative Regulation Of Sheepmeat Odour And Biogen ( SEPW1 )
For the SNP g.53617063 G A mutation in the present study, quantitative realtime polymerase chain
reaction (qRT PCR) analysis revealed that individuals with AA genotype expressed lower mRNA
levels than those with AG and GG genotype. But it requires further investigation to determine
whether this difference is also associated with mRNA stability. It is widely accepted that SEPW1
is a negative regulator of sheepmeat odour and flavour, and decreased SEPW1 mRNA expression
levels could cause lower odour and flavour. From these results, we can postulate that the SEPW1
geneis negatively associated with odour and flavour, or that the sepw1 gene may affect fatty acid

Projects Before Php Fog Essay
Projects Before PHP Fog
When I started PHP Fog, I did none of the steps that I would recommend now. Most of the time, I
didn t use a bank account or think about ideal customers. I just had an idea that I thought was a
good idea, and as a programmer, I started building the idea. I didn t validate if it was a good idea. I
thought, I want that, so it must be something people want, or I think that s clever, so I think I ll
build it, and other people will sign up for it. I would spend weeks or months doing this on the side
as my night project.
I would work on programming a project for a few weeks, and ninety percent of the time, I would
get bored and give up on it. Ten percent of the time, I would finish a project, launch it, and nobody
would sign up. Then I would give up on it. I did that for many years.
Finding a problem
The first time I did anything different was with PHP Fog. There was a cool platform called
Heroku, which was a service for developers to build apps easier. I started moving my own
applications to Heroku, which used applications programmed in Ruby on Rails. I had lots of Ruby
applications, so I said to myself, I m moving all of my stuff to Heroku, this is great!
Unfortunately, I also had PHP applications. At the time, Heroku didn t use PHP applications,
only Ruby. So then I said, Here s a problem: I want to move everything to Heroku, but I can t
because I have PHP applications. A light bulb went off in my head. Okay, PHP Fog, I said. I

Hair As A Man With Facial Hair
Do you find a man s facial hair attractive? Currently among young men growing facial hair has
been a popular trend, such as the goatee, heavy stubble, handlebar mustache and chevron. Research
has shown that a man with facial hair symbolizes masculinity, individuality, and maturity. Men
grow facial hair for numerous reasons, such as to look professional and attract a woman, follow
their icons fashion style and the latest trend, and participate in an event like No Shave November.
Facial hair was tremendously popular in the US for men in the late 1800s. Dating throughout the
history of US men facial hair trend, styling mustache and beardwas once very popular and today
the facial trend is once again the most popular trend among other trends. According to a story
from BUZZFEED, in the early 1800s, American men typically wore their face clean shaven.
Barbers were commonly black men, but after the Civil War, white men became less comfortable
to get their facial hair done with black barbers because of racial tensions. Which led white men to
groom their own facial hair. White men groomed their own facial hair, risking tetanus and even
death if their razor was not properly sterilized, and this led facial hair into fashion (Eehn). For the
last decades, facial hair trend has been vanishing and rising again, but currently the trend of growing
facial hair is increasing vastly within young males . Currently, goatee, heavy stubble, handlebar

Essay On Reading Intervention
English language learners tend to fall behind their peers due to the inability to read or understand

10% of public school students in the United States participate in school based programs for ELs

It is important to not provide additional verbal instruction between the staircase steps because the
students are English learners who may not understand the various vocabulary words used while
giving the extra instructions. If more explanation is given it can increase the difficulty for Els
because it imposes additional language demands and it can distract them from the phonological
focus that they are supposed to be learning (Gerbert etal 2006). It is hard enough for them to
understand what is being ask of them and giving them extra instructions will just confuse them. It
is important to use rapid pace, explicit and concise questions, and to use enthusiastic praise
immediately after a child responds because the students who are struggling are falling behind
their peers, using a fast paced can lead them to catch up within a short time frame. By using a fast
pace approach students have less time of being distracted, it keeps them focus on the material. To
be explicit and concise the teacher fist needs to model the activity he/she wants the students to do,
for struggling readers they need to be taught first of what they need to do to learn the material
(Richards Leafstedt 2009). By demonstrating to the students what the teacher is asking for they get
an idea of what is expected from them. Once the teacher demonstrates the correct way to do it,

Ethical Issues Facing The Health Care Profession
Ethical Issues Ethical issues are moral challenges facing the health care profession (Stanhope
Lancaster, 2012, p. 127). Ethical issues are major concern in the healthcare field because
healthcare providers observe ethical issues every day and have to make ethical decisions. A
great example in the medical field is advance directives these documents are written to address
individual s medical preferences. These documents usually take effect when patients are no
longer able to make informed health care decisions for them. These documents are helpful to
everyone and health care providers, there are ethical considerations that can make the use of
advance directives difficult (Llama, 2014). This author is a geriatric nurse that recently
observed an advance directive ethical issue in the clinical setting. The purpose of this paper is to
outline the steps of ethical decision making within the seven steps for the framework. This paper
will also identify the facts of the case from the perspective of each person impacted by the
situation and identify which ethical principles were involved in the situation. Ethical Issues and
People impacted Advance directives can become ethical issues especially when a family attempts
to enforce their opinions on healthcare instead of what a patient had requested in a living will.

Character Analysis Of Regina George And Kate Sanders
Just as rules and boundaries exist in most of the world, they also make their way into the movie
making industry, in particularly in Hollywood films. Hollywood moviemakers focus on relatable,
real life possible events, which they dramatize and turn into big hit blockbusters. In order to
categorize their many productions, they use the notion of genre and create their own rules
/qualifications to be able to classify movies as such. This categorization even persists within the
movies themselves, especially within the extremely popular teen girl genre. Teen girl films focus
primarily on the stereotypical junior high/high school life of an adolescent female. Thus, the
narrative of the films must contain specific rules and character types that encompass high school
life. To make a real seller, the most often used character type is the so called mean or popular girl
in a social hierarchy based school. In order to be identified as the mean and popular girl character,
one must be physically attractive, judgmental/cruel, and be the center of attention. To understand
this archetypal character type it is best to examine the two most infamous popular girls in the
industry, Regina George, and Kate Sanders. Although, Regina George and Kate Sanders exist in
two very distinct narratives, their personality traits are not at all different or unique. Interestingly,
since The Lizzie McGuireMovie was produced before Mean Girls, Kate Sanders ends up being the
first typical

Through my advocacy work, I have found that teachers are not providing students with disabilities
individualized attention as outlined in a student s Individual Education plan. Teachers continue to
follow instructions from administrators to place the burden of education on the student causing
students anxiety and frustrating despite knowing such treatment is wrong and inhumane. The
treatment often results in elevated high schooldropout rates of students with disabilities.
It is hard to understand why a teacher may treat a student, who is obviously willing to learn, in such
a manner. The Asch ConformityExperiment is a good example; making it easier to understand the

Although the teacher provided the information, the family was asked not to bring up how he or she
came to the knowledge to any staff members or in a meeting with other staff persons present. The
teacher was fearful for the possible repercussions of going against what the group had decided were
an appropriate intervention for the student. The teacher informed the family that the entire team
was well versed on the student s lack of skills. Nevertheless, that the protocol in the building,
handed down by the administration was to first, blame the student, second, blame the parents, and
finally recommend the child be placed on medication before he or she could return to school. The
education team was instructed that if they chose not to conform their duties at the school would be
promptly terminated. The teachers conformed for fear of losing their jobs.
Although teachers are charged with the duty of educating young people, they are still human
beings. Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs (Cherry K., 2012) describes what could be a driving force
behind behavior that from an outside perspective would be seen as inappropriate at best. Most

The advent of social networking and other media has transformed the way citizens interact and how
businesses market, promote, and distribute their products globally. The same can be said for mass

How Does Theseus Value The Giver
The Greeks valued Theseus nobility and bravery, and even today, his traits would be still be
valued. We live in a world where so much time is spent on building a future for ourselves, that it
doesn t give us much time to be adventurous. This is seen in a number books, including Divergent
and The Giver. Divergent revolves about this character who looked down on for being different in
a community where all is standardized. In The Giver, everything is regulated, but one character has
a special gift which makes him stand out. These books are fairly modern, which makes me believe
that Theseustraits would still be valued. Bravery is not something that is common and sticking to
your morals can be difficult when you live in such an opinionated world.

of American violence, however I will focus on the heinous acts of violence committed against
African American citizens by white people. Throughout history white people remained dominate
over minorities by way of intimidation, slavery and even violence. I feel that lynching was one of
the many ways whites maintain control and kept blacks suppressed. I will discuss the different
aspects of lynching. Lynching can be legal as well as illegal.

A mere existence where freedom and individuality have given way to a life of dictated regulation.
Here where all the orange trees line in military rows, and endlessly bear fruit (119). The young

Coral Reef Essay
Coral reefs are diverse underwater ecosystems that are held together by calcium carbonate
structures secreted by corals. Reefs are built by colonies of different species that are found in
marine water. Reefs are home to a variety of creatures such as fish, urchins, sponges, sharks, turtles,
jelly fish, and thousands of other species and plants. Coralreefs are the most diverse of all marine
eco systems and often called the rainforest of the sea. The total area of the world s coral reefs
amount to less then one quarter of 1% of the entire marine environment. Which is crazy because
coral reefs are home to 25% of all marine life on the planet. Coral reefs have survived tens of
thousands of years of natural change, but major threats from mankind, pollution, and climate
change have caused this under water eco system to have serious threats in the future. Coral reefs
are dying around the world. Already human activity and climate change have destroyed a quarter

beautiful and colorful underwater habitats flourish all around the world, there are many factors that
can affect coral reefs and cause devastating outcomes to marine life. Climate change, pollution,

coral reefs. It is important to be more involved with this environmental issue to help take the right

How to Deal with Temper Tantrums
Children are the bundles of joy of each family. Having a child in a family means laughs, jokes,
playing, and a fun time with this child. No matter how bad the day was, as soon as parents see
their child smiles, they forget all about the bad day, and smile back at their child. In fact, some
parents wish to stay 24 hours with their children to enjoy their first smiles, first laughs, first words,
and first steps. For most of them, all their time with their children is enjoyable, except one particular
time. When children throw tantrums, when a child whines, cries, screams, throws him/herself on
the floor, and maybe runs out of the house with no known reason, most parents wish not to be in
their child s presence because of the screaming. Parents, in order to overcome these tantrums, deal
with their children in many different ways. However, the question remains asked over years: What
s the best way to deal with toddlers tantrums?
Some parents react to a tantrum with yelling and spanking the child to force him/her to stop crying,
but the more the parent yells, the more the child cries. In an interview with Cathy W, a motherof a
two and half boy, she states about her son, When Jove throws a tantrum, I used to respond to that
by yelling and him, and even spanking him. Then, I realized that my yelling and spanking don t
solve the problem; they make Jove cries more. In addition, in a survey between twelve parents, a
mother stated that she thought about changing her way of dealing

The Tax Rate And Private Savings Essay
Figure (7) may work as another evidence of the inability of Egyptian tax system to mobilize
domestic savings, as it shows that while domestic private savings, as a percent of GDP, was
fluctuating around a downward sloping trend, marginal tax rate was fluctuating around a relatively
horizontal trend which indicates that marginal taxrate has no or insignificant power over stimulating
domestic private savings.
Figure 7.Marginal Tax Rate and Private Domestic Savings to GDP Source: Author s calculations
based on data extracted from Ministry of Finance, Monthly Financial Report, different editions.
To verify this conclusion, the effect of main sources of tax revenue (taxes on income, taxes on
property, taxes on goods and services and tariff) on domestic savings will be examined
statistically. The only source of tax revenue that has statistically significant effect on domestic
savings is property tax. Tax on properties is negatively related to domestic savings with
coefficient 12, see appendix (3). Accordingly, small reduction in property taxes will have
magnitude increase in domestic savings. Thus, if financial markets are operating efficiently, tax
cut on properties will have a considerable positive effect on the process of economic growth,
especially since property taxes represent only 3.6%, in average, of total tax revenue.
While domestic saving is a leakage of income that flows outside the economy; however, it can be re
injected in the economy again

Summary Of The Night By F. Scott Fitzgerald
As he was leaning closer to kiss me, we heard a knock on my front door. Liz, I said to him.
Leaving his side, I went to open the door. Hi! She kissed me on both cheeks and hand me a
basket full of wines, crackers and cheeses she was holding. Welcome home. She said, in way of
greeting. Darling, I had not seen you forever. I found you a hunk of a man. He is a gorgeous
stockbroker with a great personality. He is... Liz stopped mid sentence when she notice Brian
behind me, looking furious. She gazed my way stunned.
She doesn t need a man, she has a man. He yelled.
Startled, Liz turned around to face Brian. Looking at the ceiling, I closed my eyes for a second.
Brian walked toward us and extends his hand to Liz. I am not sure if you remember me, but I am
Brian Ross. Isabel s other half and Mary s brother. She smiled and said, I know who you are. I had
been friends with your sister Mary for many years. We never got the chance to meet officially, but I
had seen you and talked to you over the phone on several occasions, if I remember correctly. If you
do not know this already, I am Isabel s closest and dearest friend. It is nice to meet you finally. I am
so sorry for what I said earlier. I had no idea Isabel was seen anybody. Isabel and I had not seen
each other for almost a month.
Turning to me, he responded through gritted teeth, I guess Isabel failed to mention me to her
dearest friends.
Walking into the kitchen with Liz basket, I placed it

Greek Military Discipline In Ancient Rome
Gateway Project Marcus Beatty The Greeks and Romans both had an excellent military, but Rome
s Military had much better discipline than the Greeks. The fact that the Romans had excellent
discipline compared to the Greeks, along with greater numbers, helped the Romans to eventually
take over Greece. This paper will compare the Military Discipline, awards, and strategy of two of
the most well known civilizations in human history. Rome is popular with their military s
punishments, awards, and a small amount of their strategy. Then I will offer a brief paragraph on
their strategy. It is well known that Rome was one of the greatest empires in world history. In the
beginning of Rome, the discipline was much more strict than later in the Imperial... Show more

Romans mostly used their own adapted version of the Greek phalanx(more on that in Greek
Strategy). They often employed warriors from lands they had conquered to do jobs they could
not, like Archers from carthage or cavalry troops. It is often thought that Rome conquered with
nothing other than military power, but this is false. They conquered the whole italian peninsula
with, not only force, but also with diplomatic skill. Now we will discuss Greek Military Strategy
and Discipline. Greek Military Strategy, as I mentioned in Roman strategy, was much easier to
research and will be longer. But, Greek Discipline was more difficult to find. Greek Military
Discipline was basic, at the least. More so in early times because most of the fighting was done
by heroes. After Greece entered the dark ages, it changed to warfare fought by armies from the
city states. The Greek armies were obviously disciplined enough to obey their commanders, but
the Greek s Military Discipline was nothing compared to Rome s. Greek Strategy is a much
deeper subject than Roman Strategy. To start off Greek Strategy, we will discuss naval Tactics.
The Greeks used Triremes with Bronze battering rams mounted on the front to ram other ships.
Each ship had a small force of warriors and archers, but the main tactic in naval warfare was
ramming, not

The Black Panther Tank Battalion Essay
The Black Panther Tank Battalion The 761st Black Panther Tank Battalion was the first African
American armored unit to see combat. Before and during mobilization for World War II, officials
in Washington, D.C., debated whether or not African American soldiers should be used in armored
units. Many military men and politicians believed that blacks did not have the brains, quickness or
moral stamina to fight in a war. Referring to his World War I experiences, Colonel James A. Moss,
commander of the 367th Infantry Regiment, 92nd Division, stated, quot;As fighting troops, the
Negro must be rated as second class material, this primarily to his inferior intelligence and lack of
mental and moral qualities. quot; Colonel Perry L. Miles,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In March 1941, 98 black enlisted men reported to Fort Knox, Ky., from Fort Custer, Mich., for
armored warfare training with the 758th Tank Battalion (light). The pioneer black tankers
trained in light tank operations, mechanics and related phases of mechanized warfare, as
enlisted men from other Army units joined their ranks. The 758th trained on the M 5 light tank,
which carried a crew of four. Powered by twin Cadillac engines, it could reach a maximum speed
of 40 mph and had an open road cruising range of 172 miles. It was armed with a .30 caliber
machine gun mounted to fire along the same axis as the tank s main armament, a 37mm cannon.
When the tracer bullets from the .30 caliber registered on a target, the cannon would be fired,
hopefully scoring a direct hit. The M 5 was also armed with two more .30 caliber machine guns,
one on the turret and one in the bow. The light tank was employed to provide fire support, mobility
and crew protection in screening and reconnaissance missions. The 5th Tank Group, commanded by
Colonel LeRoy Nichols, was to be made up of black enlisted personnel and white officers. With the
758th Tank Battalion in place, two more tank battalions were needed to complete the 5th Tank
Group. On March 15, 1942, the War Department ordered the activation of the 761st Tank Battalion

Music Censorship is Not Needed Essay
Music Censorship is Not Needed
Marilyn Manson. Eminem. Limp Bizkit. Rammstein. All of these musical artists have been
under fire in the past few years by government officials, the media, and activist groups.
Supposedly, their music conveys too violent of a message. The sounds and words these artists
have so carefully crafted have been targeted as the cause for violent acts, especially by young
people. For example, Columbine shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold idolized German
industrial bands such as Rammstein and KMFDM, as well as American shock rocker, Marilyn
Manson. The public has been quick to blame these musicians for violence in the United States.
People are calling for government regulations in the form of ... Show more content on

The government has taken some appropriate steps in making the public aware of the content of
music albums. Very few critics can deny that parental advisory labels are beneficial. Although
adults and children frequently ignore them, at least they make consumers aware of any
potentially offensive content. Parents concerned about extremely violent or offensive music can
outright refuse to buy the CD in question. Alternatively, parents can research and examine the
content. However, stores such as WalMart and K Mart have been known to ask artists to
redesign their album covers or to release an edited version of an album, simply because the
stores feel a CD is potentially offensive. This practice, however, goes a step too far. No store
owner can please all customers. Either sell the CD with the appropriate warning, or choose not to
stock it. Additionally, stores that are so worried about sales figures might consider the fact that such
adult oriented material may attract a larger, slightly older consumer base, one which would be
willing to spend more money on other products.
One argument that is continually pulled into this debate is the First Amendment. According to the
United States Constitution, everyone is entitled to the right to free speech, which is a sacred
American belief. By submitting to censorship, artists are essentially

Susan B. Anthony And The Equal Pay Act
Imagine being told that you do not need as much pay as a man because your husband is a
professor and you do not need the money. This was the truth for Maxine Lampe when she
addressed the school district about being paid less. Before her husband was done with graduate
school, she brought the issue up with the school where she worked and was told that she could not
get the head of household pay that menreceived, even though she was the breadwinner. This is not
the only account of this happening. All over the country, women are getting paid less than men and
being told that it s okay. It is not okay.
Gender equality is something that has been a problem through the ages. Susan B. Anthony and
many others fought for the right to vote which was granted in 1920. In 1963, President John F.
Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act into law stating that no employer can discriminate based on
gender. The American Association of University Women published a graph on Women s Median
Annual Earnings as a Percentage of Men s Median Annual Earnings for Full time, Year round
Workers, 1974 2014 and it shows that in 1974, women were paid 59% of what men were paid.
The graph shows the improvements over the years and that in 2014, women were paid 79% of
what men were paid. The gap has not budged since 2014. The gender pay gap has improved over
the years, but it will not close until new legislation passes.
Over time, the gap has changed for the better. The gap has improved for many reasons but many of

Who Is Puck In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Although there is no true protagonist in the story, many people would argue that Puck is the most
important character in the Midsummer nights dream play. Many of the major conflicts in this story
happen because of Puck.
For example when Oberon sent Puck to find the magical flower and place it on Demetrius eye .
Since Puck had never seen what Demetrius looks like he accidentally puts the flower juice on
Lysander s eye, causing Lysander to fall in lovewith Helena. Oberon sees the mistake Puck has
made and sends him to fix the problem, so Puck goes out and puts the flower juice on Demetrius
eye while he is asleep. This leads to Hermia and Helena getting in a fight because Hermia blames
Helena for both men falling in love

Muscle Cars Essay
Muscle cars have been around for over 60 years now they keep on
rebuilding themselves all the way up to this day. Although a lot has changed such as the body of
the cars and the engines. Most of these muscle cars are very hard to find now a days though as a
lot have disappeared. What this means is that a lot of the cars have been crushed in junk yards or
have rotted in some field just sinking into the ground from sitting for many years. Although the
cars that are recovered from the ground and still are in good shape are being grabbed up one by
one for use to build the dream muscle car. Because of how hard it is to find the perfect car makes

What this means is look at the muscle cars that are out there
now, those cars are not very much alike of what they used to be. Muscle cars now are fuel

horsepower. Although these newer muscle cars do have plenty of power and will more than
likely last longer than the older ones they just are not as fun to drive and tinker around with. The
old muscle cars had carbureted engines and were built specifically to be fast and to be loud along
with that. Talking american made muscle cars the main one that are most popular and most
commonly talked about is chevy, ford, and dodge as these cars were the big names back in the

Identity Development of Student Veterans
The intended purpose of this study was to describe and understand the identity development of
student veterans as they transitioned from active duty service members to students at a higher
educational institution. This study was phenomenological in nature and focused on seven
individual, veteran, full time students completing their first undergraduate degree at CU Denver.
Despite the increased number of student veterans on campus, there remains a continued lack of
understanding regarding this section of the student population at colleges across the United States
and as I learned, here at CU Denver as well. It is important that campus administrators have a solid
understanding of student veterans needs and experiences in order to better assist them while they
are here at CU Denver. In my study I concentrated on the actual experiences of seven student
veterans attending collegefull time. This method was chosen because of its in depth interviewnature
and the focus on participants lived experiences and worldviews. Veterans have detailed life
experiences that are often not understood by non veterans so in explaining some of my findings we
civilians could have problems relating or understanding. Because of the time limitations involved in
this project, interviewing a larger number of participants was not feasible, especially considering
the attention to detail required for personal, one on one discussions. Furthermore, since the study
focused on student veteranidentity

The Effects of Violent Video Games Essay
Since violent video games, like Mortal Kombat, were created, adolescents who play these games
become more aggressive than before. To me, playing violent video games is unsafe for these
people since they have the negative influence on these people. I believe that researching on that
topic would help us get the sense of what problems to avoid. I wish to know what are the
possible effects of violent video games on adolescents aggression. The independent variable is
violent video games, and the dependent variable is adolescents aggression. My hypothesis is that
adolescents who play violent video games become very aggressive than those who don t. For this

Unsworth basically shows that playing violent video games more likely affects adolescents to
become very aggressive. The experiment was done on participants by measuring their anger
before, during and after their game play of violent game, Quake II, and having them to fill out the
questionnaire that determines their state of angers. The table categorizes the participants in terms
of their change in the level of aggressiveness throughout the experiment. According to the data,
she found that all participants anger ratings vary; some participants aggressiveness increases and
some decreases while others don t show any change. According to the article, overall, she
concludes that: There were three types of reliable short term reactions in regards to anger
following gameplaying: increase, decrease and no effect. We found that these reactions could be
predicted using state and trait variables. A labile temperament coupled with high state anger at
pregame play led to a cathartic effect; a labile temperament coupled with low state anger at pre
game play led to an increase in angry affect; and a stable temperament led to no change in angry
effect following game play (Unsworth, 391) Here, this author examines the variables that take in

Notes On Data Mining And Association Rule Mining Essay
CHAPTER 2
2. Background and Literature Review
The purpose of this chapter is to show an in depth review of the topics, areas and works related to
the research presented here. we conduct a brief but comprehensive in depth review of data mining
and association rule mining approaches and techniques, followed by a focus at interestingness
quality, and redundancy issues related to association rule mining. This review sets the basic work
for our research and the proposals made here.
2.1 Data mining
Data Mining technique is the result of a long process of studies and research in the area of
databases and product development. This evolution began when business data and companies was
stored for the first time on computer device, with continuous improvements in access to data and
more newly, produced technologies that allow users to navigate during their data in real time. Data
mining is a approach that help to mine important data from a large database. It is the technique of
classification during huge amounts of data and chosen out relevant information during the use of
certain advanced algorithms. Like more data is collected, with the amount of data doubling every
one years, data mining is becoming an more and more important tool to convert this data into
information. Data mining takes this evolutionary process behind retrospective data access and
navigation to prospective and proactive information delivery. Data mining is very useful and ready
in applications in the business

The Opening Sequence of the Coen Brothers Movie O brother Where art Thou?
O brother where art thou? has a unique storyline based on Homer s classic tale of The Odyssey ,
which is one story made up of short chapters , each relating a different adventure. In this story
Ulysses, (who Everett McGill is based on) and his companions (who are the two men, Delmar and
Pete, chained to Everett) are trying to get back home, however they anger the Gods and their
journey is lengthened. They get lured by the Sirens, captured by a Cyclops and have lots of near

When the credits start to roll there is noise of rocks being smashed. The slave songs are heard
before the audience can see the picture. The slaves are singing the blues. (Blues are songs that
are full of sorrow) This could be effective because the audience could grasp even before the
picture emerged that the people who were singing were made to do hard labour. The picture then
merges in to show a black and white long shot of a landscape. The camera pans rounds and the
audience see a shot of two lines of prisoners doing hard labour, then a low angle shot shows them
chained together. This could explain to the audience why none of the prisoners are trying escape.
When the audience has seen the prisoners the camera goes into a wide angle shot and shows
three men running across a field and then jumping down. This can be quite comical as they are
being very obvious and could easily be seen but never do. There is a non diegetic sound, which
is used at the start when they are escaping. This is Bluegrass or country and western music. The
song talks about an imaginary place, a land of dreams. There is a parallel here with Everett and his
companions. As they were all chained together, in order to persuade them to agree to escape with
him, he tells them that he has stolen $1.2 million and that they can have a share in the treasure. The
trouble is that they only have four days to get

Guidance Services CHAPTER I BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Introduction Historically, the term guidance has been used in the field of education to designate the assistance given to students in the solution of problems that lay outside the area of classroom teaching situations. By about 1925, a growing number of colleges and universities were providing guidance services for their students. These activities were more commonly referred to as student personnel services. • 4. Women Athletic Trainers in the NFL Women in the National Football League The NFL is a man s world where each and every man is out on the field to show off his athleticism. Every aspect of the game, whether it is on the field or on the side lines, is predominately male. However, there is an area of the NFL that women could become a part of. Women could become athletic trainers for the NFL. An athletic trainer is a health care specialist that focuses on prevention of injury and rehab to recuperate athletes (Summary). Currently there are no women employed in the NFL although one womanused to work for the Pittsburgh Steelers (Mihoces). There are many people that agree that women should be able to work in the NFL, but there are also many people that do not believe women... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is unnerving to have a woman in the same room while players are showering and changing. It is also awkward for the female athletic trainer to be present when men all around her are changing and showering. A second argument for those who oppose is that women are seen as pushovers in the training room. Stereotypically, women are seen as dainty, elegant people that cannot stand up in an authority position over the gigantic football brutes. Likewise, it is awkward for a female athletic trainer to demonstrate her power over the coach. If the athletic trainer believes that the team needs a water break, it is his or her obligation to inform the coach, and sometimes it can get pretty dicey between the athletic trainer and the coach. Also, if an athletic trainer will not clear a player to be able to return to play, the coach and the athletic trainer can become very argumentative and irrational. If the athletic trainer is female, the coach believes that she will hold grudges like most other females they know. The final argument is that women can be a distraction to the players. If there is a female on the field, the players could get distracted and not be able to focus clearly on the task at hand. Almost following the same line, there is a big hazard potential. Sexual harassment is a big issue in any work environment, but imagine how much more of a hazard this would be. The hazard potential of sexual harassment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another common belief is that if someone waits until the last minute to study for a test, they will be under more pressure and therefore perform better. The people who believe this simply have not developed the discipline or effort to study consistently so they procrastinate until the last minute to begin their studying, which hurts them in the long run. • 8. My Favorite Christmas Season Are you serious Clark ? Is one of the famous sayings you ll hear my dad quoting throughout the Christmas season. Christmas is my absolute favorite season, and I do quite know the reason. Christmas was always filled with a lot of joyous experiences; my entire family always became so happy immediately after the Thanksgiving Holiday ended. My dad probably influenced me the most when it comes to Christmas; because the Christmas season was the only time his dysfunctional familyunified. My favorite part about Christmas was all of the traditions my family had. The first one was watching the movie National Lampoon s Christmas Vacation on Thanksgiving night while starting to decorate the house for Christmas. My family and I never wasted any time on getting into the Christmas Spirit, but it really has never taken much for us to get into it. Usually, within the next day or two, we would go out in our front wheel drive sleigh and find that one perfect Christmas tree that was a little full and had a lotta sap . Every year my dad would cut it down with the same dull saw that he said the previous year he was going to replace and it was always quite comical watching him cut the tree down; sometimes I thought it would have been faster if he just dug it out of the ground with his bare hands. If you have watched Christmas Gall 2 Vacation then you can clearly tell how much my family and I love it. Every year I buy my dad a new Christmas Vacation tree ornament from the Hallmark store; ... • 10. This Is Our Life Poem Comparison Both of the poems mentioned that because of science fiction we are seeing the world differently. Instead of seeing the real effects of how we are and what we do we see things to be a fantasy. Seeing how we re not paying attention to the actual surroundings we don t really think about why things happen. We just see things as normal because it s something we don t really think about. In the first poem the opening started out with This is not a fantasy, this is our life. Throughout this poem it mentions that we are the inventors and that we are the people who make the changes with our surroundings. Being in charge of this gives us an important role on the things that we hold together. But the way that it is told on us it just makes us not see the reality of the things and by that we don t really pay attention on what is occurring. The fact that people want to get rid of the genre is reasonable because it s just like hearing false propaganda. We must be able to see how the things we can cause and not be told we have nothing to do with everything that is around us. It s a bad genre and the way it wants to get removed probably won t have a bad effect on people because then they would need to stop believing the fictional things and start thinking about the things they ... Lack of preparation, time, training, and professionalism are a few examples of how the system is flawed. The individual completing the application often has many tasks that supersedes taking the appropriate time necessary to accurately keep notations of an employee s performance throughout the year. The lack of time leads to an employee receiving a performance review on the most recent accounts of his or her job performance instead of his or her performance throughout the entire year. Management should always focus on the appraisal process as another of their job duties instead of over thinking the task and rating an employee out of fear and retaliation or to prevent an employee from receiving a raise or promotion. I loved the book so much that I recommended it to and even passed around my copy to help those who weren t sure as to what was going on in their lives. Yes, I bought the book. I was 14 then. The book was intended to empower girls to stop waiting for disinterested guys. And it did emancipate the 14years old me from the unending pain! I realized that if a guy liked me, he would make it obvious by telling me so, calling me regularly, taking me out, etc. and if he does not do all this, he is not interested in me. However on planet Earth, the girl could have just called to fix a date. And then there were dodgy suggestions like how a woman should never ever ask a man out because men are conditioned to lead. The guy could be as unsure of your feelings as you are of his, or he could be shy! I say WHY NOT ask a man out! Many women play the martyr in relationships with men who don t treat them well because many women feel so devoted to their partners that they are afraid of losing them. They sometimes delude themselves with fantasies about why the partner still loves them despite all the signs pointing otherwise. This isn t gender specific! Guys are just as delusional as women when in love! They too would try to save the relationship by playing the martyr . Real life is not so black and white, and this highly sexist, misogynistic book assumes that it is. Unluckily, relationships are perilously perched in the grey and that s what makes them hard and complicated. We are humans after all. We hurt and shape each other all the time. It is unfair to hold men responsible for initiating all hetero relationships, casual or serious. Men are equally affected by work pressure, family environment and heartbreaks! What disappoints ... • 20. Seven Steps to Solving the Housing Crisis The crisis that America has found herself in, to be completely blunt and honest, all revolves around stupidity and bad choices. American citizens that had absolutely no business even thinking of buying a house flooded the market and were encouraged by greedy bankers that were out to make a profit, without thinking of the consequences or morals involved. Now the governmenthas over stepped their boundaries and are spending this country into such deep debt, which makes one think that that light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train with no hope of slowing down, let alone stopping. The solution to this economic crisis is outlined in seven easy baby steps: 1. America needs to create a small emergency fund (at least a million... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If everyone bought houses that they could afford then there would be no more foreclosures; especially if everyone had an emergency fund to give them an alternative if something happened. If businesses weren t built on debt, especially sole proprietorships, then businesses wouldn t have to lay a bunch of people off or cut down productivity. Lastly, America needs to build a bunch of wealth and give a bunch of it away. The courts specified that section 49 needed a severer test, and that, that section shouldn t be given a open minded meaning but rather, it should and must be interpreted and practiced but with limits against the person that wants to depend on it (Burchell, 1997). • 23. The Effects Of Gun Violence On The United States In the United States, over the past few decades, gun violence has increased massively, leading to over 10,000 gun related incidents in 2015. The main cause of the massive amount of violence in the United States in recent decades is mainly because people who are in danger have no means to protect themselves. This is why guns should be more accessible for citizens, so that they can protect themselves in dangerous situations. Allowing citizens to conceal weapons would heavily decrease the amount of incidents that occur because innocent people were unable to protect themselves. Also, putting less control on guns would prevent crimes from even happening in the first place. If a criminal had intentions of committing a crime, they would be much less willing if they knew that they might possibly get shot trying to commit that crime. Thus, criminal activity and violent crimes will cease to continue at such high rates and more people will have the ability to protect themselves in dangerous situations. In areas with high crime rates, certain people are more affected than others, such as minorities, children, and women. America is facing a continuing epidemic of homicides among young black males. The number of black homicide victims killed by guns is rising at a sharp rate of fifty four percent. Studies have shown that consistently there are more black victims than white victims. A specific study done by the FBI has shown that per 100,000 black lives, 18.07 of people were victims of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Character Analysis Of Regina George And Kate Sanders Just as rules and boundaries exist in most of the world, they also make their way into the movie making industry, in particularly in Hollywood films. Hollywood moviemakers focus on relatable, real life possible events, which they dramatize and turn into big hit blockbusters. In order to categorize their many productions, they use the notion of genre and create their own rules /qualifications to be able to classify movies as such. This categorization even persists within the movies themselves, especially within the extremely popular teen girl genre. Teen girl films focus primarily on the stereotypical junior high/high school life of an adolescent female. Thus, the narrative of the films must contain specific rules and character types that encompass high school life. To make a real seller, the most often used character type is the so called mean or popular girl in a social hierarchy based school. In order to be identified as the mean and popular girl character, one must be physically attractive, judgmental/cruel, and be the center of attention. To understand this archetypal character type it is best to examine the two most infamous popular girls in the industry, Regina George, and Kate Sanders. In fact, some parents wish to stay 24 hours with their children to enjoy their first smiles, first laughs, first words, and first steps. For most of them, all their time with their children is enjoyable, except one particular time. When children throw tantrums, when a child whines, cries, screams, throws him/herself on the floor, and maybe runs out of the house with no known reason, most parents wish not to be in their child s presence because of the screaming. Parents, in order to overcome these tantrums, deal with their children in many different ways. However, the question remains asked over years: What s the best way to deal with toddlers tantrums? The only source of tax revenue that has statistically significant effect on domestic savings is property tax. Tax on properties is negatively related to domestic savings with coefficient 12, see appendix (3). Accordingly, small reduction in property taxes will have magnitude increase in domestic savings. Thus, if financial markets are operating efficiently, tax cut on properties will have a considerable positive effect on the process of economic growth, especially since property taxes represent only 3.6%, in average, of total tax revenue. However, stores such as WalMart and K Mart have been known to ask artists to redesign their album covers or to release an edited version of an album, simply because the stores feel a CD is potentially offensive. This practice, however, goes a step too far. No store owner can please all customers. Either sell the CD with the appropriate warning, or choose not to stock it.
