Present Day Response Methods
The research reinforced my thesis that response methods are vital in law enforcement agencies and
what is needed to evolve with the inevitable changes occurring, the future trends emerging, and
challenges that go with it. Addressing crime is the most important responsibility of law
enforcement agencies and although there is an increase in crimeand criminal acts, the research
indicates that response methods will need to be enhanced in order for any law enforcement agency
to be successful. The research collected in the literature review shows that present day response
methods do not have the capability to deal with the enhanced crime and criminal acts. Possible
indication could be the expanding and uncertainty of the control of crime and offenders... Show

Staying ahead of these changes or forecasting for these changes will better equip law enforcement
personnel to handle the many challenges they may be faced with on a daily basis, weekly, monthly
and yearly basis. There are also insufficiencies when researching response methods in law
enforcement. It can be challenging to retrieve data on every response methods that police
departments utilize. Whereas other demographics, such as agency size, population, crime rates,
budgets, recruitment, criminal acts or technology may be obtainable, it can be vexing to find those
demographics to include how they affect, are used in response methods or implemented. Further
research should be investigated concerning the aspects of response methods in law enforcement. In
my opinion, law enforcement agencies have response methods implemented that work well for their
departments and the communities they serve, but with the increase in terrorism, cyber crimes, gun
violence, localized crime, and the growing population, response methods will have to be improved
to keep up with these increases. With the rapidly changing environment and communities, now
more than ever law enforcement agencies and the citizens of their community will need to work
more closely together to provide information to one another, to bridge the trust with each other and
to collaborate

Analysis Of Donald Blumberg s The Master
Through August 21 to November 22 2015, Yale University Art Gallery is presenting Donald
Blumbergs Photographs: Selection from the Master Sets. 160 photographs from last six decades.
Donald Blumberg is a contemporary American photographer born in 1935. In his early carrier, his
work focused on street photography; later on he developed his own style showing mass media,
identity and consumerism. His black and white photographs explore space, politics and surrounding
us culture. The exhibition is divided in sections, showing different periods of time and subjects that
Blumberg was interested in at that time.
His earlier work in the 60 s shows streets of New York City, both urban areas as people living
there. What s interesting in his work is that he not only captured everyday life, but also signs,
advertisements and newspapers, which give us more information about past events. His street
photography resulted in an amazing series In Front of Saint Patrick s Cathedral . He used the
black of the cathedral doorway as a frame to photograph people emerging from the church. He
used a long exposure to black out any detail inside of the cathedral, and concentrated on the
people. The success of the series is in an unexpected angles and composition he used. Sometimes
he would put all the people clustered in a corner or show only heads on the edge of a photo. His
work is very high contrast and dynamic. Some of the figures in the photos are blurry; ghost like
figures representing passing

W.E.B. DuBois The Souls of Black Folk Essay
W.E.B. DuBois The Souls of Black Folk
W.E.B. DuBois, in The Souls of Black Folk describes the very poignant image of a veil between
the blacks and the whites in his society. He constructs the concept of a double consciousness,
wherein a black person has two identities as two completely separate individuals, in order to
demonstrate the fallacy of these opinions. J.S. Mill also describes a certain fallacy in his own
freedom of thought, a general conception of individuals that allows them to accept something
similar to DuBois double consciousness and perpetuates the existence of the veil.
DuBois double consciousness is quite simply the twoness of American Negroes. It is this sense of
always looking at one s self through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As DuBois looks through the veil, he can see a world that he loves, but cannot belong to because it
belongs to the whites. The veil perpetuates the concept of alienation from the world to which he
knows he will never belong. From the other side, whites look through at blacks, and construct their
own opinions of the opposing race, and in doing so, create an opinion that is accepted by blacks
themselves. The distortion created by the veil muddles the world of the whites and also the self
knowledge within each individual on the black side of the veil.
This sort of idea is the same thing that Mill critiques in the early parts of On Liberty. Mill
discusses that few think it necessary to take any precautions against their own fallibility, or
admit the supposition that any opinion, of which they feel very certain, may be one of the
examples of error to which they acknowledge themselves to be liable. (Mill 615). Herein lies the
problem of the whites, as over time they have come to accept their own ideas of the blacks in the
United States without accepting the possibility of their own fallibility. Mill would argue that
dissenting voices need to be heard in order to bring forth the right opinions, but with the veil the
DuBois discusses, this is an impossibility. Mill discusses the infallibility of the the world in
general (Mill 615) that is accepted by individuals living in a particular place.

George Bush Decision Points Analysis
The eight years of George Bush s presidency were some of the most controversial, and
consequential of any president s in our nations history. There were many domestic and foreign
concerns that were in the forefront of the country s mind, and they had to be dealt with swiftly
and with great competence. Whether that is how President Bush handled those concerns is still
highly debated, by the common man and the President himself. In his book Decision Points ,
President Bush documents the processes and thoughts he went through in deliberating the
responses to the many conflicts that he faced in his early life, his governorship, and mainly his
presidency. As in any presidency there are successes and failures, and Bush displays his
opinions of his. The memoir provides a more personal feel to a man who was in a position that
most people can feel little personal connection with. He provides an honest and insightful into the
inner workings of his cabinet, his decisions, and his reactions to the world around him. Though
typically regarded as a negative presidency by most scholars, Bush does a sufficient job of
manifesting the fact that there were positives of his presidency. George Bush was able to be
successful in his help to victims of AIDS and malaria in Africa, and... Show more content on

The Current State Of Our Post Secondary Education System
The current state of our post secondary education system should not be judged simply by the
growing debt
accumulated by students and parents. Many of us are aware that the current outstanding debt of
college loans is
roughly a trillion dollars with growing delinquency rates. The issues with the post secondary
education system are often
limited to single item discussions such as textbook prices or rising tuition costs. These issues when
looked at unilaterally
do not give insight into the entire picture and often cause topical tunnel vision. The problems of
higher education are
multifaceted and born from the linkage between accreditation boards, educational institutions,
textbook publishers, and
federal aid. When focusing on these connections we find not only parasitic relationships and
borderline abuse but also a
fundamentally flawed, antiquated approach to educating our future generations.
The United States faces an educational epidemic. Our country has seen a massive decrease in
reliance on manufacturing
in the last three decades replaced by an ever increasing reliance on knowledge based services. Gone
are the days when
a high school diploma and a family member in a union meant stable incomes and traceable futures.
Over the coming
years a high school diploma will open only one third of the job market doors as advanced
education becomes more
desirable and in many cases required. According to the American Community Survey in 2008, a
high school degree

Anolis Lizards Essay
Ecological Speciation in Anolis Lizards
Adaptive radiation of different organisms have occurred throughout geological time through the
filling of ecological niches. Organisms different from one another are capable of radiating greatly,
as they evolve traits that allow them to thrive better in their environment. The Anolis lizards of the
Caribbean islands are a great example of a single genus to have radiated not once, but multiple times
through very similar mechanisms. Different populations of the Anolis phenotypically vary in their
morphological traits to facilitate adaptation to particular niches. These phenotypic variations have
evolved in convergence in more than one occasion, as recently discovered fossil specimens show
similar patterns in morphology to modern Anolis.
Anolis as a Model Organism. Anolis is a primary example used in evolutionary studies in
diversification. Nicholson et al. (2005) show that their existence on the islands has resulted from
single colonization events (p. 935). After a population settles on an island, the lizards begin to
specialize in habitats and fill unoccupied niches. Subpopulations that correspond to each niche ...

As seen with Anolis, single species of organisms have the ability to undergo adaptive radiation and
become new species by filling niches in a given environment. This is prevalent not only in Anolis,
but other model organisms as well, such as finches, sticklebacks, and cichlids. All of these
organisms have gone through the similar mechanisms and processes to evolve into different
species. Alike to Anolis, they have gone through reproductive isolation, adaptation, and convergent
evolution. Due to a poor fossil record of Anolis, the other model organisms may give better outlook
on how they have diverged overtime. Further investigations on all of these organisms and their
evolutionary mechanisms would not only give better a better idea of ecological speciation, but
more comprehension on the origin of all

The Treat of Entry
The children s products and services industry is one of the highly profitable sectors in the UK
because the total UK children s wear market alone worth around ВЈ5.91billion in 2011 with a 6.5%
growth from the previous years (keynote 2011). This shows that markets such as these are highly
profitable and they can attract new firms easily; on the other hand it can decreases the profitability
for all firms within the market and then creates a higher level of competition. the threat of entry is
largely dependent of the barriers to entry within the market itself. Generally when volume of
production increases, the average cost per unit decreases with economies of scale. One of the
barriers of entry for Mothercare and its competitors is the economies of scale which they can
exploit in order to provide lower prices to consumers or generate higher profits. Therefore, in order
for a company to compete directly with Mothercare, it would need to have enough capital to
produce goods at near the same volume than the market leaders. But Tesco PLC and other large
supermarkets were able to penetrate and become strong competitors in the market because of the
large capital they have. Also, In 1990 ASDA launched its George (Brand republic 2006) range
and was instantly able to provide quality clothing at cheap and affordable price because they had
many outlet and capital which gave them advantage of large economies of scale. The Bargaining

Why Is Swing Better Than Traditional Jazz
A few years later that jazz was born in 1930 another style was created and it is call swing. Also
called the big band era because they used more instruments than early jazz. Why swing was the
most popular style of jazz? The reason was because it gave people that swing feeling they wanted
the one that made people dance. Is swing better than traditional jazz? It may be popular but that does
not mean that one is better than the other it was just different in a way that attract to many people
and it is hard to describe what swing feeling really means. The instrumentation used in swing music
consisted in five saxophones, four trumpets and four trombones as the front line and the rhythm
section with the guitar, bass, piano and drums. This instrumentation gave a strong and hot style that
people were crazy about. Always keeping the essence of jazz improvising and keeping the swing
feeling although in swing there were not collective improvisations. Using more instruments allowed
musicians to have an advanced ability in terms of tone, control and speed while they are playing a
melody. Because big bands in the swing era could not do collective improvisations bands started to
use more arrangements and the improvisation was only with solos. Duke Ellington was one of the

Why Is Basketball Better Than Soccer
Basketball vs. Soccer
As unalike the sports basketball and soccer may seem, these two sports are the two most similar
sports the public currently plays. Soccer and basketball are two sports that each have their stars and
national television coverage. They are arguably in the top 3 most popular sports for the youth and
have high continuity rates for players that partake in them. While the ultimate goal in both sports is
putting the goal in or through the net, how the players create these opportunities makes these sports
team based and strategic. In both sports teamwork, where they perform, similarity of injuries, and
the importance of footwork, group these two sports together more than any other combination of

The Comedy of the American Dream Essays
The Comedy of the American Dream
In the early 1950s, the American dream was the nation s common heartbeat. Citizens longed for
the ?ideal? family; most hid their shortcomings. The nuclear family included a mother, father, two
children and a pet, all residing in suburbia, USA. Fathers were the breadwinners, and mothers
stayed home, cooked, and cared for the kids. Each family included a boy and a girl, the former
who always parted his hair to the side and the latter who always wore pigtails. The nation was
convinced that if one worked hard enough, he or she could earn enough money to support the
family and have plenty of professional satisfaction. Everyone sat down to dinner together nightly,
and discussed his/her day, and innocence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main comedy of the picture arises from the innocence of the characters clashing with the
worldly realisms, and the color transformation of Pleasantville parallels the transition that American
humor has taken over the past half century. Despite the harsh realities of the Depression and World
War II that led up to this age, an innocence was assumed during the 50s; today, no subject is too
controversial for television. In fact, the main facet of American humor today is the shock between
the ideology of the American dream as it supposedly existed earlier this century and the subsequent
recognition of reality.
Historians and academics offer definitions which underlie today?s humor. In 1937, Walter Blair,
whose 60 year study of humor focused on the nineteenth century development of the genre, stated
that American humor was neither produced only in America nor contained characteristics privy
only to Americans. He offered instead that American humor meant ?humor which is American in
that it has an emphatic ?native quality??a quality imparted by its subject matter and its technique?
(92). H. R. Haweis, half a century earlier in 1882, had defined the technique of American humor as
the three shocks of contrast: business and piety, Aboriginal and Yankee, and the bigness of
American nature versus the smallness of

Factors Of HRM
Human Resource Management (HMR) is the deploying, recruiting and managing of employees
within an organization (SearchHRSoftware, 2017).
(1.1)Explain the factors that needs to be considered when planning the recruitment of individuals to
work at London Nursing Home
Recruitment is a method used for finding and hiring the most competent candidate for a job in a
timely and cost effective manner (CIPD, 2010). This process includes qualitative planning (the right
candidate) and quantitative planning (number of vacancies). London Nursing Home (LNH)
recruitment system was based on prejudice, lack of planning and favouritism that affected the
standard of care.
When planning the recruitment process London Nursing Home has to consider demand forecasting,
supply forecasting and forecast turnover. Demand forecasting should indicate the number of
employees needed with the right skills. Supply forecasting is getting applicants with the right
expertise while complying with the legal requirement. Forecast turnover is analysing the problem
areas and finding an immediate solution. (Compton et al, 2009)

Introduction
In this essay I will discuss why it is essential for an early year s practitioner to have a knowledge

is described in the holistic development of a child. This essay will also focus on the mothers tasks

It is important we use a holistic approach with children as they are also people. This can be
viewed as different levels such as physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. It is important to view
these points as early as possible with children as it with help them as they grow into an adult.
Understanding each child s individual path
Understanding a child s individual path is a massive part of early childhood education. This is
massively important as we must respect that everyone has their own situations and difficulties. This
means that you also do not compare children as they have had different life experiences.
Understanding development
It is essential for a practitioner to know what stages a child should be at for their age. In Birth to
five years , Mary Sheridan describes each of the stages. An example of this is for a new born baby
that the first few days of a baby s life are usually composed of long periods of sleep interspersed
with short periods when the baby is awake. (Sheridan, M. (2014) Mary Sheridan s from birth to

amp;#8216;Nature of Politics ; and the implication of morality. The Prince, has been criticised due
to it amp;#8217;s seemingly amoral political suggestiveness, however after further scrutiny of other
works such as The Discourses, one can argue that it was Machiavelli amp;#8217;s intention to
infact imply a positive political morality. Therefore the question needs to be posed. Is Machiavelli
a political amoralist? To successfully answer this it is essential to analyse his version of political
structureto establish a possible bias. It would also be beneficial... Show more content on

It is essential prior to judgement on whether Machiavelli is a political amoralist or not to take
into account The Discourses and the essence of their meaning. The Prince alone I grant can be
mistaken for a how to be a tyrant handbook with it amp;#8217;s absolute theories and some what
lack of civility, where amp;#8220;the end justifies the means ;. But it amp;#8217;s intention is
assuming the political leader is already of moral standing and possess such qualities of integrity
and virtue to be expected of one in the position of leadership. amp;#8220;Everybody sees what
you appear to be,few feel what you are,and those few will not dare to oppose themselves to the

ruling with an iron fist is best expressed in terms of need. The 16th Century political unrest

The Acquisition Of Child Language
Introduction
The acquisition of child language has become a heated debate in which many discuss how and
when a child is able to learn both their first and even their second language. The critical period
hypothesis is a theory which claims that after a certain age children will no longer be able to
achieve a native level of fluency in any given language. This essay aims to dissect the evidence
which supports and contradicts this, and will draw upon studies and experiments conducted on
both human children and even more broadly in a number of different species. As children
approach the age of 17/18 months their ability to learn language is accelerated and they enter the
vocabulary spurt (lasting several months) during which they can acquire on average 10 new
naming words a day (Beverly A. GoldпЂЃeld and J. Steven Reznick, 1990, Early lexical
acquisition: rate, content, and the vocabulary spurt, Journal of Child Language). This phenomena
appears to be limited to children of this age, however could this occur in older children or
adolescents, who have experienced a lack of exposure to language or, who are attempting to learn
a second language? Is this speed of acquisition solely restricted to those in this particular ( sensitive
) stage of their lives?
The Critical Period Outlined
The concept of a critical period has been defined in many different ways, however, certain criteria
are often seen in most of the definitions discussed over time: the idea that this period is

Struggle And Disillusionment In Shakespeare s Hamlet
As with the majority of Shakespeare s works, the 1601 tragedy of Hamlet still remains as an
acclaimed source of inspiration for complex interpretations and in depth criticism. Its values lies not
within its plot, but rather within the constituents that gives rise to the textual integrity of the play.
Hence, such thematic concerns of Struggle and Disillusionment are dramatically explored through
elements of the dramatic form to impart an effect on the audience that allows the play to transcend
contextual barriers. Such elements include the characterisation of the eponymous protagonist,
various soliloquies, character foils, and the structure of the play. Edgar Johnson, expresses in his
text The Dilemma of Hamlet (1956) that Hamlet s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, this would lead to an internal struggle unique to the audience as the notion of antic
disposition becomes blurred as the play progresses. This is further supported by the presence of the
Ghost in Act 3, of which only Hamlet notices. Gertrude assures Hamlet, This is the very coinage of
your brain/This bodiless creation ecstasy/Is very cunning in. (Act 3 Scene 4). This gives rise to the
suggestion that the Ghost is a manifestation of his newfound madness and hence the authenticity of
Hamlet s apparent madness is a source of conflict within the audience. Johnson, however, views
Hamlet s madness as an innate quality that encompasses the temptation to wreak justice for the
wrong reasons and in evil passion... . He does not consider the audience s knowledge of Hamlet s
antic disposition which allows for the interpretation that the dilemma is perhaps his progression to
madness. Accordingly, the peculiar dramatic treatment of struggle through the multifarious and
inwardness nature of Hamlet directly engages the audience continuously. The internal struggles and
disillusionment of characters are conveyed to the audience in an intimate manner through the use
of soliloquies. His core dilemma is revealed to the audience in his first soliloquy in Act 1, Scene 2
where he expresses his disillusionment with the world and life upon his mother s swift remarriage
to his uncle, describing it as ...weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable/Seem

Optimization For The Design Of Load Frequency Control
PSO OPTIMIZED FLC FOR THE DESIGN OF LOAD FREQUENCY CONTROL
M. MAHAMMED JABEER
Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Electronics Engineering,
AVR SVR Engineering College, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
Abstract: Load frequency control problem is considered as one of the most important issues in the
design operation of power systems. Due to lack of good efficiency in parameters variation
conditions, working conditions of system and non linear factors, a simple PI controller is not
suitable in industrial applications. Instead, fuzzy controllers can be used in order to enhance the
performances of the systems. In this paper, the use of the optimized type 1 fuzzy logic controller
using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to solve the load frequency
control problem. To the best of our knowledge, the PSO optimization of fuzzy type 1 controller in
order to solve load frequency control problem, has not been investigated so far. The proposed
controller has good performance and is capable to solve the load frequency control problem in
conditions of wide variations of system parameters and nonlinear factors such as generation rate
constraint. Simulation results show that the optimized fuzzy controller proposed in this paper
exhibits better performance compared to PI controller in damping of system deviations.
Key words: power system, load frequency control, type 1 fuzzy logic controller, PSO algorithm.

Micronutrients During Pregnancy
Micronutrients are essential during pregnancy. There are two groups of micronutrients: vitamins
and minerals. Vitamins are organic while minerals are inorganic. However, both of them cannot be
synthesized by the body and must be obtained from the diet in trace amount. Iron, folate and
vitamin B12 are three of the micronutrients that are required to be increased in pregnant women for
normal embryonic development to occur. When these recommendations are not met, deficiencies
can develop in mother and lead to adverse pregnancyoutcomes in the infant. Iron is complex. There
are two major forms of iron that an individual can ingest: heme and non heme. Heme iron is in the
most easily absorbed form. It can be found in meat, fish, and poultry.... Show more content on

It is a coenzyme that participates in DNA synthesis and methylation, energy production and normal
folate metabolism. The recommended dietary allowance for pregnant women increase to 2.6 ug
/day and it can be found in meat, dairy products, supplements and some fortified foods. Vitamin
B12 deficiency is often associated with adverse pregnancy outcome such as preeclampsia, due to
malabsorption. Normally, vitamin B12 is absorbed by allowing the attachment of Vitamin B12 to R
proteins to form the R B12 complex with pepsin, transporting the complex into the small intestine
with the release of intrinsic factor from the parietal cell, splitting Vitamin B 12 from it s protein
binding site to bind to intrinsic factor with protease, and attaching it to the enterocytes in the ileum

Avoiding the Possessive Shadow of Society
Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, It is easy in the world to live after the world s opinion; it is
easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd
keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude. (Emerson 1) Being one s self in
today s society is increasingly difficult every year and can have a major effect on the mental
state of teenagers. It is easy to follow the pack, but then one is just a faceless person marching in
with the crowd with no true purpose; true strength is in those who try to be themselves in the face
of society. Many teens struggle with their identities and can turn to self harm or even suicide to
relieve their pain, yet not enough effort goes into trying to help these struggling teens. In fact in a
recent study done for Curing the illness: suicide prevention , professor John Wensly states that
Suicide rates are increasing alarmingly. Every year we see a ten percent increase in suicide
attempts alone. (Wensly 23) In his book Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer writes about Christopher
McCandless, who did anything but live in society s large and possessive shadow. Chris broke free
from society s chains and lived his life with adventure despite the numerous people telling him to
stop. Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer focuses on Christopher McCandless and his mysterious
decision to live on the road.

Lab Repor Chemical Kinetics Essay
Abstract The Chemical Kinetics experiment was done to investigate the changes in the rate of
reaction under the effect of concentration, temperature, and presence of a catalyst. It was
determined that as the concentration of reactants and the temperature increases, the rate of the
reaction increases as well. Also, the reaction was run by the presence of catalyst, and the rate of
the reaction increased drastically in the presence of it. The order of the reaction with respect to
each reactant was calculated to be: x = 1 [I ], y = 1 [BrO3 ], z = 2 [H+] by the method of initial
rates. The average rate constant was determined to be 26.7 M 3s 1, and the activation energy was

Interactions within Biological Systems Lead to Complex...
Enduring Understanding 4.A: Interactions Within biological systems lead to complex properties.
Overview
Almost every aspect of biology involves interaction between different components and systems. It
starts all the way at the cellular level with the interactions of cell organelles that allow a cell to
function and it goes all the way up to the way different ecosystems come together to form complex
communities and interactions. It is these interactions that make biological systems complex and
how cells are specialized in one animal affects the way that animal interacts with the others around
it. These interactions create ever changing and unique properties that make organisms function in
the way in which they do so.
Essential knowledge 4.A.1: The subcomponents of biological molecules and their sequence
determine the properties of that molecule
Proteins, nucleic acids, lipids, and carbohydrates are the four basic macromolecules. Each of these
macromolecules are made up of smaller components that determine the specific macromolecule and
how it functions.
Proteins
Proteins are complex structures made up of chains of amino acids. Each protein has a different
function such as enzymes to catalyze reactions or protein hormones to trigger certain functions of
a cell. First let s start with the most basic component of a protein: an amino acid. An amino acid is
made up of a central carbon atom attached to a hydrogen atom, a carboxyl group, an amino group,
and an R group which varies

universal service free at the point of use. NHS is funded through general taxation and its current
budget is around ВЈ110 billion. It is facing unprecedented and increasing pressures that threaten to

of people with long term conditions; for example heart disease, diabetes and hypertension.
Expensive new treatments, new medical technologies and high public expectations are continually
adding to the financial pressures on the NHS. Unhealthy life style is adding
There has been a revolution in developing new cancer drugs that both prolong life and improve
quality of life. They are more specific, more effective and safer. However, many of them are
exceptionally expensive. NICE is responsible for deciding whether new treatments are cost
effective and whether they should be funded by the NHS. Independent committee reviews the
evidence for efficacy and then looks at cost effective (specifically cost utility) analysis before
making their recommendation. This seeks to establish whether differences in expected costs
between options can be justified in terms of changes in expected health effects. Health effects
should be expressed in terms of QALYs. Two different variables are used

Othello By William Shakespeare s Othello
Shakespeare s Othello peels back the layers of society s underlying feelings regarding people
who lie outside of the perceived standard norm. It digs into the heart of society and reveals the
damage that is placed upon individuals who are considered outsiders, even if they manage to
achieve success. In this particular play, the audience is able to see how the subtleties of racial bias
slowly destroy a person s psyche. Throughout the play, the audience examines Othellocast in both
negative and positive positions. Othello is both a great general of the Venetian army as well as, just
the moor who used magic to trick his wife, Desdemona, into a marriage. Through harmful racial
language Othello is constantly reminded of his outsider status. The destruction of his character
through blatant and subtle criticisms cause Othello to doubt his self worth and ultimately leads to
his self destruction.
Racial otherness and the inconspicuous barrier it creates in this play is the key to understanding
the tragedy of Othello. Iago and Roderigo open the play with slanderous statements about the
character and personality of Othello that allows the audience to view how society perceives
Othello. The language Roderigo and Iago use is openly offensive and can t be mistaken for
anything other than hate based on Othello s race. Roderigo refers to Othello as the thick lips as
well as a lascivious Moor , during the opening of the play. Both Iago and Roderigo are disgusted

Wildfire Climate Change
Introduction
Wildfires occur in the natural landscape, as forests. They tend to caught fire uncontrollably and last
for a long period of time. These occurrences are affected by many factors and each factor stimulates
the other. Global warming is one of the major factors that affect both the drought and the wildfire.
Researchers predict for higher temperatures in the coming years due to a huge increase in
greenhouse gas concentration in the air. As a result, forests will catch fire easily because there
will be drier and warmer conditions which allow the trees to die. Therefore, there will be an
increase in the rate of wildfires.
Cause of Global Warming/Climate change:
Climate change increases the number of wildfire occurrences, wildfire intensity and the length of
the wildfire season. Having dry and warm weathers will increase the severity of the wildfires by
decreasing the precipitation to 15 percent and increasing the evaporation rates. This causes
California to be in a severe drought conditions. In addition, it will increase the length of the fire
season and cause spring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

without even knowing by producing one of the follow: a vehicle spark, campfire or lite

Campfires are the highest ranked issues for starting a wildfire. They cause a lot of destruction.
For example, there was a wildfire in Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Foothills that burned
around 400 acres of land and destroyed hundreds of homes. The amount of damages was
estimated to be around 54 million. The second highest issue that promotes wildfires is cigarette

Explain How the Social and Economic Changes Affected Gaucho Life
Due to the huge migration to Latin America, foreigners introduced the gauchos to many changes
that would have a lasting effect. Two of the main changes felt by the gauchos included social and
economic restructuring. One must understand that history about the gauchos can potentially be
biased. This is due to the fact that only news that is interesting is reported and only bad news is
interesting. This clash of recorded history and actual history causes us to question what actually
occurred during this time period. The gauchos lifestyle suffered greatly because of these social and
economic changes. New institutions, values and beliefs all aided the transformation ... Show more

Gauchos social lives covered many interesting areas. These traditional acts decreased because of the
new laws. Previously, gauchos would roam the pampa, continuously moving onward to unknown
destinations. This freedom became restricted with the invention of the fence. The fence also
impacted other areas of the gauchos lives including economically. The fence forced the change
from a ranching to farming. The need for ranchers decreased, which put gauchos out of work.
These fences also kept animals contained to specific pastures. Before this gauchos would kill
roaming horses for fun, cattle for food and skins, and ostrich for feathers. These fences set
territories that kept the gaucho from wandering freely. Another change that kept the gaucho from
wandering freely involved vagrancy laws. The government targeted to the gaucho and aimed to get
rid of them, or at least tame them. Gauchos now had to carry something similar to a travel permit.
This again restricted their unique lifestyle. Because the government viewed the gauchos as good
fighters, they enlisted many to serve in the military. This impacted their lives socially and
economically. Gauchos social lives slowed down enormously because of the military. They had to
work continuously. Economically they benefited because they no longer had to look for ways to
support their basic needs. The government took care of making them sustain life.

Induction And Induction Essay
Deduction and Induction Isabel Bolio
A way in which a human being can acquire knowledge is by reasoning through guided principles of
validity; which is therefore through logic. This extends our understanding of our surroundings.
Within logic there are two branches that lead to reasonable conclusions, these are: inductive and
deductive logic. In the following paragraphs this two instruments will be described and exemplified
in order to compare them as means to reach logic.
Inductive logic is the form to achieve a conclusive and specific knowledge through general rules. It
is the urge of humans to construct patterns of observation through time. We all use simple induction
all the time; for example. We assume that because the sun has... Show more content on

This example demonstrates how humans draw conclusions without enough examples, therefore
another problem arises: how many examples do we need to form a completely truthful conclusion?
On the other hand there is the opposite of Inductive logic: Deductive logic. It is the process by
which a secure conclusion can be reached through one or more general statements that are
otherwise called premises . It goes form general to specific. So if one is equal to two and two is
equal to three then we know that one is equal to two. This way of reasoning is easily applied to our
ordinary lives an example is: every day I leave to school at eight o clock; I take fifteen minutes and
get there on time, therefore if today I leave at eight o clock I will get to school on time. Another

Will Popcorn Pop The Most Kernels
This project is all about popcorn. Everyone likes that right? Well, my research was all based on
how many kernels were in the bag after the popcorn got done popping. What made me want to do
this project was more because of people with money issues. The point was to help these people
find a way to test how much popcornthey can get with their own money. This is the information on
which popcorn brand will pop the most kernels?
Since the experiment is on which popcorn brand will pop the most kernels, you need to find
some information on reasons why popcorn may not pop. If popcorn is much drier, it will not pop
(Hartman). So if the popcorn is dry, it won`t pop. This is why popcorn won`t pop which leaves
non popped kernels in the bag. Temperature affects the amount of steam, and steam makes the
popcorn pop. So if the temperature is low, it will take more time to pop, because not enough steam
is produced. If the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This will help me understand why popcorn may not pop, because if heat doesn t transfer to the
kernels, they won`t pop (Kruszelnick). Temperature is very important in this experiment (Energy
Heat). Temperature affects the amount of steam, and steam makes the popcorn pop. So if the
temperature is low, it will take more time to pop. If the temperature is high it will take less time to
pop. In conclusion, the lower the temperature, the less steam created, and the higher temperature,
the more steam created. Resulting in the popping time needed. The temperature is very important,
because the temperature determines when the popcorn will pop. So if the temperature is low or
way high, the popcorn will either burn or not pop (Walker). Moisture is important when talking
about the heat and temperature effects of popping popcorn. ....89% moisture. Popcorn is made up
of 89% of moisture, so heat has to bring 89% of moisture basically to boiling point, for it to pop

Essay Explain How Access To Health Care Promote The Health...
Explain how access to health care can promote the health of women and their babies during
pregnancy.
Access to health carers such as midwives, doctors and obstetricians can promote the health of
women and their babies during pregnancy. These professionals are able to provide support and
information, as they monitor the mother s health and wellbeing and that of the baby. In addition,
they are able to identify special medical or personal requirements that the mother may need.
Midwives are able to supervise, care and give advice to mothers during their pregnancy.
Furthermore, they are able to detect any problems that may occur if there are abnormal changes in
the mother and the baby and obtain specialist assistance if needed. Obstetricians provide care at
public hospitals and mothers may be able to see one if they are on duty at the time of their
appointment. Women are more likely to see an obstetrician if their pregnancy becomes complicated.
However, with medication and technology, any issues that arise can be likely treated.
Regular appointments are important to monitor the pregnancy and wellbeing of the mother and her
baby. Going to have regular scans will enable the health care professionals to identify any problems
with the baby or the mother. Furthermore, women are able to ask any questions ... Show more

Romani The Second Largest Part Of The European Union Essay
Romania being the seventh largest part of the European union has come along way over the
years to develop a strong foundation to rebuild its name and their people. Romania is located on
the southeastern side of Europe bordering the black sea between Bulgaria and Ukraine. With their
outstanding geography, Romania is full of land, mountains, hills and valleys that attract many
tourists from all around the world. The word may tend to travel about relaxing waters that act as
healing remedies for many illnesses that come past the roman grounds. The temperate climate can
make the seasons easy to come and go, but ideal for people to enjoy while visiting. With the
strong presence of the Hungarian people accenting the medieval towns that still exist. These towns
are filled with monuments, galleries, tombs, and other exciting cultural and historical remains.
There are very few natural resources that help to structure and support the imports and exports set
up. Some of those natural resources are petroleum, timber, natural gas, coal, iron ore, salt, and
arable land. Most of these resources are also available in the surrounding counties. Exports have
been the main driver of the recent improvement in the current account balance. The growth of
exports translated into strong gains in export market shares. In the past two decades Romania s
Market shares have grew amazingly 4.6%. But, In 2013 Romania landed one of the top performers
in exports with a 15% increase in the year 2013

A Brief Note On Compensation And Benefits Plan
GC3 Compensation and Benefits Plan Pay Philosophy As GC3 pushes for a stronger and revitalized
company, Tri State Consulting, LLC recognizes the mission, vision and business strategy should be
the basis for the company s Compensation Strategy. Turning compensation into a driver of business
success is part of knowing your business (Miller, 2011). Alignment with the business strategy is
shown through industry match of compensation in the 50 percentile, which is part of differentiating
services from rivals. Out of the 2,700 staff members, there are eight benchmark roles. These roles
hold the following job titles Barista, HR Manager, HR Assistant/Store Manager, Store Manager,
Recruiting Specialist, Training Development Coordinator, Chief... Show more content on

It is recommended that GC3 use a Total Rewards Program to help supplement their pay structure
and allow employees to be rewarded by more than pay. This strategy is simplistic, yet gives
structure to compensation and it allows for flexibility, if GC3 has an out performing employee.
Compensation Strategy Job Evaluation and Market Comparisons GC3 will endeavor to pay all of
its employees total annual cash compensation at the median (50th Percentile, or middle) of
appropriate national and/or local market rates of pay for similar jobs in similar companies, see
comparison chart from industry survey to GC3 alignment below. If location or individual
performance exceeds expectations and industry standards, higher levels of total annual cash
compensation will be awarded, as well as bonus programs for determined out performing locations.
However, salaries may be adjusted versus industry levels based upon experience, competency and
sustained performance. Total compensation plans and/or a total rewards program define an
organization s strategy to attract, motivate, retain and engage employees. Compensation and
benefits have paved the way for total rewards that encompass not only compensation and
allowances, but also personal and professional growth opportunities and a motivating work
environment (Heneman, 2007). Pay Structure GC3 will use two platforms, or pay structures, for
compensation of employees: First, market pay with bands and,

Mississippi Casino Gambling
Casino gambling remains a controversial issue, mostly due to personal and religious views on the
negative effects (gambling addictions) it has on society. However, there seems to be very little
controversy relating to the role the casino industry has in the state s economic and tourism
development. The purpose of the paper is to provide a synopsis of the role Mississippis casino
industry has played in the state s economic and tourism industry. The report focuses on three
jurisdictions: Tunica, Greenville, and the Gulf Coast. The report supports my theory that the
Mississippicasino industry unequivocally has a positive impact on the state s economy and tourism
industry.

  • 2. Present Day Response Methods The research reinforced my thesis that response methods are vital in law enforcement agencies and what is needed to evolve with the inevitable changes occurring, the future trends emerging, and challenges that go with it. Addressing crime is the most important responsibility of law enforcement agencies and although there is an increase in crimeand criminal acts, the research indicates that response methods will need to be enhanced in order for any law enforcement agency to be successful. The research collected in the literature review shows that present day response methods do not have the capability to deal with the enhanced crime and criminal acts. Possible indication could be the expanding and uncertainty of the control of crime and offenders... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Staying ahead of these changes or forecasting for these changes will better equip law enforcement personnel to handle the many challenges they may be faced with on a daily basis, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. There are also insufficiencies when researching response methods in law enforcement. It can be challenging to retrieve data on every response methods that police departments utilize. Whereas other demographics, such as agency size, population, crime rates, budgets, recruitment, criminal acts or technology may be obtainable, it can be vexing to find those demographics to include how they affect, are used in response methods or implemented. Further research should be investigated concerning the aspects of response methods in law enforcement. In my opinion, law enforcement agencies have response methods implemented that work well for their departments and the communities they serve, but with the increase in terrorism, cyber crimes, gun violence, localized crime, and the growing population, response methods will have to be improved to keep up with these increases. With the rapidly changing environment and communities, now more than ever law enforcement agencies and the citizens of their community will need to work more closely together to provide information to one another, to bridge the trust with each other and to collaborate ... • 3. Analysis Of Donald Blumberg s The Master Through August 21 to November 22 2015, Yale University Art Gallery is presenting Donald Blumbergs Photographs: Selection from the Master Sets. 160 photographs from last six decades. Donald Blumberg is a contemporary American photographer born in 1935. In his early carrier, his work focused on street photography; later on he developed his own style showing mass media, identity and consumerism. His black and white photographs explore space, politics and surrounding us culture. The exhibition is divided in sections, showing different periods of time and subjects that Blumberg was interested in at that time. His earlier work in the 60 s shows streets of New York City, both urban areas as people living there. What s interesting in his work is that he not only captured everyday life, but also signs, advertisements and newspapers, which give us more information about past events. His street photography resulted in an amazing series In Front of Saint Patrick s Cathedral . He used the black of the cathedral doorway as a frame to photograph people emerging from the church. He used a long exposure to black out any detail inside of the cathedral, and concentrated on the people. The success of the series is in an unexpected angles and composition he used. Sometimes he would put all the people clustered in a corner or show only heads on the edge of a photo. His work is very high contrast and dynamic. Some of the figures in the photos are blurry; ghost like figures representing passing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. W.E.B. DuBois The Souls of Black Folk Essay W.E.B. DuBois The Souls of Black Folk W.E.B. DuBois, in The Souls of Black Folk describes the very poignant image of a veil between the blacks and the whites in his society. He constructs the concept of a double consciousness, wherein a black person has two identities as two completely separate individuals, in order to demonstrate the fallacy of these opinions. J.S. Mill also describes a certain fallacy in his own freedom of thought, a general conception of individuals that allows them to accept something similar to DuBois double consciousness and perpetuates the existence of the veil. DuBois double consciousness is quite simply the twoness of American Negroes. It is this sense of always looking at one s self through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As DuBois looks through the veil, he can see a world that he loves, but cannot belong to because it belongs to the whites. The veil perpetuates the concept of alienation from the world to which he knows he will never belong. From the other side, whites look through at blacks, and construct their own opinions of the opposing race, and in doing so, create an opinion that is accepted by blacks themselves. The distortion created by the veil muddles the world of the whites and also the self knowledge within each individual on the black side of the veil. This sort of idea is the same thing that Mill critiques in the early parts of On Liberty. Mill discusses that few think it necessary to take any precautions against their own fallibility, or admit the supposition that any opinion, of which they feel very certain, may be one of the examples of error to which they acknowledge themselves to be liable. (Mill 615). Herein lies the problem of the whites, as over time they have come to accept their own ideas of the blacks in the United States without accepting the possibility of their own fallibility. Mill would argue that dissenting voices need to be heard in order to bring forth the right opinions, but with the veil the DuBois discusses, this is an impossibility. Mill discusses the infallibility of the the world in general (Mill 615) that is accepted by individuals living in a particular place. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. George Bush Decision Points Analysis The eight years of George Bush s presidency were some of the most controversial, and consequential of any president s in our nations history. There were many domestic and foreign concerns that were in the forefront of the country s mind, and they had to be dealt with swiftly and with great competence. Whether that is how President Bush handled those concerns is still highly debated, by the common man and the President himself. In his book Decision Points , President Bush documents the processes and thoughts he went through in deliberating the responses to the many conflicts that he faced in his early life, his governorship, and mainly his presidency. As in any presidency there are successes and failures, and Bush displays his opinions of his. The memoir provides a more personal feel to a man who was in a position that most people can feel little personal connection with. He provides an honest and insightful into the inner workings of his cabinet, his decisions, and his reactions to the world around him. Though typically regarded as a negative presidency by most scholars, Bush does a sufficient job of manifesting the fact that there were positives of his presidency. • 6. The Current State Of Our Post Secondary Education System The current state of our post secondary education system should not be judged simply by the growing debt accumulated by students and parents. Many of us are aware that the current outstanding debt of college loans is roughly a trillion dollars with growing delinquency rates. The issues with the post secondary education system are often limited to single item discussions such as textbook prices or rising tuition costs. These issues when looked at unilaterally do not give insight into the entire picture and often cause topical tunnel vision. The problems of higher education are multifaceted and born from the linkage between accreditation boards, educational institutions, textbook publishers, and federal aid. When focusing on these connections we find not only parasitic relationships and borderline abuse but also a fundamentally flawed, antiquated approach to educating our future generations. The United States faces an educational epidemic. Our country has seen a massive decrease in reliance on manufacturing in the last three decades replaced by an ever increasing reliance on knowledge based services. Gone are the days when a high school diploma and a family member in a union meant stable incomes and traceable futures. Over the coming years a high school diploma will open only one third of the job market doors as advanced education becomes more desirable and in many cases required. According to the American Community Survey in 2008, a high school degree ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Anolis Lizards Essay Ecological Speciation in Anolis Lizards Adaptive radiation of different organisms have occurred throughout geological time through the filling of ecological niches. Organisms different from one another are capable of radiating greatly, as they evolve traits that allow them to thrive better in their environment. The Anolis lizards of the Caribbean islands are a great example of a single genus to have radiated not once, but multiple times through very similar mechanisms. Different populations of the Anolis phenotypically vary in their morphological traits to facilitate adaptation to particular niches. These phenotypic variations have evolved in convergence in more than one occasion, as recently discovered fossil specimens show similar patterns in morphology to modern Anolis. Anolis as a Model Organism. Anolis is a primary example used in evolutionary studies in diversification. Nicholson et al. (2005) show that their existence on the islands has resulted from single colonization events (p. 935). After a population settles on an island, the lizards begin to specialize in habitats and fill unoccupied niches. Subpopulations that correspond to each niche ... This is prevalent not only in Anolis, but other model organisms as well, such as finches, sticklebacks, and cichlids. All of these organisms have gone through the similar mechanisms and processes to evolve into different species. Alike to Anolis, they have gone through reproductive isolation, adaptation, and convergent evolution. Due to a poor fossil record of Anolis, the other model organisms may give better outlook on how they have diverged overtime. This shows that markets such as these are highly profitable and they can attract new firms easily; on the other hand it can decreases the profitability for all firms within the market and then creates a higher level of competition. the threat of entry is largely dependent of the barriers to entry within the market itself. Generally when volume of production increases, the average cost per unit decreases with economies of scale. One of the barriers of entry for Mothercare and its competitors is the economies of scale which they can exploit in order to provide lower prices to consumers or generate higher profits. Therefore, in order for a company to compete directly with Mothercare, it would need to have enough capital to produce goods at near the same volume than the market leaders. But Tesco PLC and other large supermarkets were able to penetrate and become strong competitors in the market because of the large capital they have. • 11. Why Is Swing Better Than Traditional Jazz A few years later that jazz was born in 1930 another style was created and it is call swing. Also called the big band era because they used more instruments than early jazz. Why swing was the most popular style of jazz? The reason was because it gave people that swing feeling they wanted the one that made people dance. Is swing better than traditional jazz? It may be popular but that does not mean that one is better than the other it was just different in a way that attract to many people and it is hard to describe what swing feeling really means. The instrumentation used in swing music consisted in five saxophones, four trumpets and four trombones as the front line and the rhythm section with the guitar, bass, piano and drums. This instrumentation gave a strong and hot style that people were crazy about. Always keeping the essence of jazz improvising and keeping the swing feeling although in swing there were not collective improvisations. Using more instruments allowed musicians to have an advanced ability in terms of tone, control and speed while they are playing a melody. Citizens longed for the ?ideal? family; most hid their shortcomings. The nuclear family included a mother, father, two children and a pet, all residing in suburbia, USA. Fathers were the breadwinners, and mothers stayed home, cooked, and cared for the kids. Each family included a boy and a girl, the former who always parted his hair to the side and the latter who always wore pigtails. The main comedy of the picture arises from the innocence of the characters clashing with the worldly realisms, and the color transformation of Pleasantville parallels the transition that American humor has taken over the past half century. Despite the harsh realities of the Depression and World War II that led up to this age, an innocence was assumed during the 50s; today, no subject is too controversial for television. In fact, the main facet of American humor today is the shock between the ideology of the American dream as it supposedly existed earlier this century and the subsequent recognition of reality. Historians and academics offer definitions which underlie today?s humor. In 1937, Walter Blair, whose 60 year study of humor focused on the nineteenth century development of the genre, stated that American humor was neither produced only in America nor contained characteristics privy only to Americans. He offered instead that American humor meant ?humor which is American in that it has an emphatic ?native quality??a quality imparted by its subject matter and its technique? (92). H. R. • 23. The Acquisition Of Child Language Introduction The acquisition of child language has become a heated debate in which many discuss how and when a child is able to learn both their first and even their second language. The critical period hypothesis is a theory which claims that after a certain age children will no longer be able to achieve a native level of fluency in any given language. This essay aims to dissect the evidence which supports and contradicts this, and will draw upon studies and experiments conducted on both human children and even more broadly in a number of different species. As children approach the age of 17/18 months their ability to learn language is accelerated and they enter the vocabulary spurt (lasting several months) during which they can acquire on average 10 new naming words a day (Beverly A. GoldпЂЃeld and J. Steven Reznick, 1990, Early lexical acquisition: rate, content, and the vocabulary spurt, Journal of Child Language). This phenomena appears to be limited to children of this age, however could this occur in older children or adolescents, who have experienced a lack of exposure to language or, who are attempting to learn a second language? Is this speed of acquisition solely restricted to those in this particular ( sensitive ) stage of their lives? The Critical Period Outlined The concept of a critical period has been defined in many different ways, however, certain criteria are often seen in most of the definitions discussed over time: the idea that this period is ... Struggle And Disillusionment In Shakespeare s Hamlet As with the majority of Shakespeare s works, the 1601 tragedy of Hamlet still remains as an acclaimed source of inspiration for complex interpretations and in depth criticism. Its values lies not within its plot, but rather within the constituents that gives rise to the textual integrity of the play. Hence, such thematic concerns of Struggle and Disillusionment are dramatically explored through elements of the dramatic form to impart an effect on the audience that allows the play to transcend contextual barriers. Such elements include the characterisation of the eponymous protagonist, various soliloquies, character foils, and the structure of the play. This gives rise to the suggestion that the Ghost is a manifestation of his newfound madness and hence the authenticity of Hamlet s apparent madness is a source of conflict within the audience. MAHAMMED JABEER Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Electronics Engineering, AVR SVR Engineering College, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Abstract: Load frequency control problem is considered as one of the most important issues in the design operation of power systems. Due to lack of good efficiency in parameters variation conditions, working conditions of system and non linear factors, a simple PI controller is not suitable in industrial applications. Instead, fuzzy controllers can be used in order to enhance the performances of the systems. In this paper, the use of the optimized type 1 fuzzy logic controller using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to solve the load frequency control problem. To the best of our knowledge, the PSO optimization of fuzzy type 1 controller in order to solve load frequency control problem, has not been investigated so far. The proposed controller has good performance and is capable to solve the load frequency control problem in conditions of wide variations of system parameters and nonlinear factors such as generation rate constraint. Simulation results show that the optimized fuzzy controller proposed in this paper exhibits better performance compared to PI controller in damping of system deviations. Key words: power system, load frequency control, type 1 fuzzy logic controller, PSO algorithm. 1. Introduction The main aim of power systems is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Emerson 1) Being one s self in today s society is increasingly difficult every year and can have a major effect on the mental state of teenagers. It is easy to follow the pack, but then one is just a faceless person marching in with the crowd with no true purpose; true strength is in those who try to be themselves in the face of society. Many teens struggle with their identities and can turn to self harm or even suicide to relieve their pain, yet not enough effort goes into trying to help these struggling teens. In fact in a recent study done for Curing the illness: suicide prevention , professor John Wensly states that Suicide rates are increasing alarmingly. Every year we see a ten percent increase in suicide attempts alone. It digs into the heart of society and reveals the damage that is placed upon individuals who are considered outsiders, even if they manage to achieve success. In this particular play, the audience is able to see how the subtleties of racial bias slowly destroy a person s psyche. Throughout the play, the audience examines Othellocast in both negative and positive positions. Othello is both a great general of the Venetian army as well as, just the moor who used magic to trick his wife, Desdemona, into a marriage. Through harmful racial language Othello is constantly reminded of his outsider status. The destruction of his character through blatant and subtle criticisms cause Othello to doubt his self worth and ultimately leads to his self destruction. These occurrences are affected by many factors and each factor stimulates the other. Global warming is one of the major factors that affect both the drought and the wildfire. Researchers predict for higher temperatures in the coming years due to a huge increase in greenhouse gas concentration in the air. As a result, forests will catch fire easily because there will be drier and warmer conditions which allow the trees to die. Therefore, there will be an increase in the rate of wildfires. Cause of Global Warming/Climate change: Climate change increases the number of wildfire occurrences, wildfire intensity and the length of the wildfire season. Gauchos social lives covered many interesting areas. These traditional acts decreased because of the new laws. Previously, gauchos would roam the pampa, continuously moving onward to unknown destinations. This freedom became restricted with the invention of the fence. The fence also impacted other areas of the gauchos lives including economically. The fence forced the change from a ranching to farming. The need for ranchers decreased, which put gauchos out of work. These fences also kept animals contained to specific pastures. Before this gauchos would kill roaming horses for fun, cattle for food and skins, and ostrich for feathers. These fences set territories that kept the gaucho from wandering freely. Another change that kept the gaucho from wandering freely involved vagrancy laws. The government targeted to the gaucho and aimed to get rid of them, or at least tame them. Gauchos now had to carry something similar to a travel permit. This again restricted their unique lifestyle. Because the government viewed the gauchos as good fighters, they enlisted many to serve in the military. This impacted their lives socially and economically. Gauchos social lives slowed down enormously because of the military. They had to work continuously. Economically they benefited because they no longer had to look for ways to support their basic needs. The government took care of making them sustain life. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Induction And Induction Essay Deduction and Induction Isabel Bolio A way in which a human being can acquire knowledge is by reasoning through guided principles of validity; which is therefore through logic. This extends our understanding of our surroundings. Within logic there are two branches that lead to reasonable conclusions, these are: inductive and deductive logic. In the following paragraphs this two instruments will be described and exemplified in order to compare them as means to reach logic. We all use simple induction all the time; for example. We assume that because the sun has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This example demonstrates how humans draw conclusions without enough examples, therefore another problem arises: how many examples do we need to form a completely truthful conclusion? On the other hand there is the opposite of Inductive logic: Deductive logic. It is the process by which a secure conclusion can be reached through one or more general statements that are otherwise called premises . It goes form general to specific. So if one is equal to two and two is equal to three then we know that one is equal to two. This way of reasoning is easily applied to our ordinary lives an example is: every day I leave to school at eight o clock; I take fifteen minutes and get there on time, therefore if today I leave at eight o clock I will get to school on time. Another example; all students that have high SAT scores do well in collage, a Laura had high SAT scores, she will do well in collage. Equivalently to Inductive reasoning deductive logic has limitations. The issue is that the premises are either drawn form observation or are merely assumptions. This means that the premises of a deductive argument may come from inductive reasoning, which automatically leads us to the previous problems encountered. It may however be that the deductive argument is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
