PREPOSITIONS OF TIME II:
SINCE / FROM / UNTIL / FOR
FOR: no significa ‘por’, sino ‘DURANTE’
FOR va seguido de un periodo de tiempo

NO se utiliza FOR seguido de ALL…
He’s been waiting all day (NOT for all day!)
A veces se puede omitir FOR en frases

PREPOSITIONS OF TIME II:
SINCE / FROM / UNTIL / FOR
SINCE = ‘desde’. Para hablar de periodos
de tiempo empezados en el pasado que
se extienden hasta el presente.
Generalmente se usa con el Presente
Perfecto (I have done)
We have lived here since 1995.
It’s been raining since this morning.
Ojo! SINCE también tiene otros
significados no relacionados con el
tiempo.
PREPOSITIONS OF TIME II:
SINCE / FROM / UNTIL / FOR
FROM = ‘desde, de’. Para hablar de
periodos de tiempo, suele ir acompañado
de UNTIL / TILL o TO.
Al hablar de periodos de tiempo que NO
terminan en el presente, se utiliza FROM.
The shop opens from 8:00 to 18:00
I studied at school from 1985 until 1994

UNTIL / TILL = ‘hasta’. Until es mas
formal que till.
Se pueden utilizar como complemento de
‘FROM’, pero también pueden ir solas.

TO = ‘hasta, para’. Se utiliza en
situaciones similares, a UNTIL / TILL, muy

You have to wait 30 minutes to the next bus.
