An engine is a device that produces power by burning fuel. It is made up of various parts bolted together that work together, including a cylinder block where combustion occurs, pistons that transmit power to the crankshaft by compressing fuel mixtures, and a crankshaft that converts the reciprocating motion of the pistons into a rotary motion to power vehicle wheels. Other main parts include cylinder heads, connecting rods, valves, spark plugs or injectors, and manifolds. Together, these parts work to achieve engine power through the burning of fuel.
