IQ”.
Is EI is something new?
 No, it is always there but didn’t get prominent.
 Emotions is a complex state of human mind,

What is Emotional Intelligence?
 According to Goleman EI is :

It is split into two components.
 Self awareness.
 Self Management
Why self management is important?
 Self-management is important because when
people are able to better managing their
emotions, they do better in life.
 The more people allow emotions to control
and direct their behavior, the worse they do in
life.

others.
Why social awareness is important?
 Social awareness is very important for creating and
maintaining good working relationships with other
people.
 People high in social awareness can feel what other
people are feeling.
 People who are high in social awareness are able to
read non-verbal cues, read messages conveyed by facial
gestures, posture, eye movement, and body language.
IQ
 In 1940’s the psychologists were referring to ‘non
intellective’ as well as ‘ intellective ’element of
intelligence, by which they meant personal and social
factors.
 But it is noted that non intellective factor work in the
success.
Why it is important more then IQ.
 Some of the researches made on this EI and It is
noted that 20% of IQ is important but 80% of EI is
matter in the success.

think rationally, and to deal effectively with his
environment”
