Effectively Treat Erectile Dysfunction With Tadalafil Medications

Tadalafil is a prescription medication which is FDA-approved to
treat the following in men: erectile dysfunction (ED), a
condition in which you can’t get or keep an erection, symptoms of
benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a prostate condition that may
cause problems with urination and ED and symptoms of BPH
together.
Tadalafil's effect starts working in 30 minutes and lasts for upto 36
hours. Tadalafil can also be used daily by using the 5 mg dose, so
you can be ready anytime. It’s available in three strengths: 5mg,
10 mg and 20 mg. It is also available as an Oral jelly in the
strength of 20 mg.
Tadalafil tablets are also indicated to improve the ability to
exercise in adults with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH).

Tadalafil Medications – Brand Names
Tadalafil tablets are available as Cialis,
Tadali, Tadalista, Tadacip, Tadalift,
Adcirca, Filda, Forzest, Megalis, Tadalis,
Tazzle, Zydalis. In addition Tadalafil is
available in jelly form as Apcalis SX Oral
Jelly.

Active Ingredient
The active ingredient contained in Generic
Tadalafil tablets or jelly sachets is Tadalafil.
Each Generic Tadalafil tablet or jelly sachet
contains 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg or 20 mg of
Tadalafil.

Uses of Tadalafil Medications
Tadalafil belongs to a group of medicines called
phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitors and is used to treat
men who have erectile dysfunction (also known as sexual
impotence). These medicines prevent an enzyme called
phosphodiesterase type-5 from working too quickly. The
penis is one of the areas where this enzyme works.
Erectile dysfunction is a condition where the penis does not
harden and expand when a man is sexually excited, or when
he cannot keep an erection.

Uses of Tadalafil Medications
Tadalafil is also used to treat men who have signs and symptoms
of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH is caused by an
enlarged prostate. Men with BPH usually have difficulty
urinating, a decreased flow of urination, hesitation at the
beginning of urination, and a need to get up at night to urinate.
Tadalafil will make these symptoms less severe and reduce the
chance that prostate surgery will be needed. This medicine is also
used to treat erectile dysfunction and signs and symptoms of
BPH.
Tadalafil is also used in both men and women to treat the
symptoms of pulmonary arterial hypertension to improve your
ability to exercise.

Recommended Adult Dosage
For most patients, the dose of Tadalafil to treat Erectile
Dysfunction (ED) for use as needed is 10 mg as needed
prior to sexual activity. Increase to 20 mg or decrease to 5
mg based upon efficacy/tolerability.
This medicine improves erectile function compared to
placebo up to 36 hours post dose. Not to be taken more
than once per day. i.e. 24 hours must pass before you take
your next dose.

Tadalafil to treat Erectile Dysfunction (ED) for once
daily use: 2.5mg taken once daily, without regard to
timing of sexual activity. May increase to 5 mg based
upon efficacy and tolerability.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): 5 mg, taken at
approximately the same time every day.
ED and BPH: 5 mg, taken at approximately the same time
every day.

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: The
recommended dose of Tadalafil tablets is 40 mg (two
20 mg tablets) taken once daily with or without
food.
Dividing the dose (40 mg) over the course of the day
is not recommended.

Contraindications
Tadalafil medications are contraindicated in
patients with a known hypersensitivity to
Tadalafil or any component of the tablet.
Administration of Tadalafil tablets or jelly to
patients using any form of organic nitrate is
contraindicated. Tadalafil was shown to
potentiate the hypotensive effect of nitrates.

Storage Instructions
Tadalafil tablets and jelly sachets have to be
stored at controlled room temperature i.e.
from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) with
excursions permitted between 15° to 30°C
(59° to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines away
from children and pets.

Warnings
Patients should not use Tadalafil tablets or jelly if sex is NOT advisable
due to cardiovascular status.
Use of Tadalafil with alpha blockers, antihypertensives or substantial
amounts of alcohol (5 units or greater) may lead to hypotension.
Tadalafil is not recommended in combination with alpha blockers for
the treatment of BPH because efficacy of the combination has not been
adequately studied and because of the risk of blood pressure lowering.
Caution is advised when Tadalafil is used as a treatment for ED in men
taking alpha blockers.

Warnings
If taking potent inhibitors of CYP3A4, dose should be adjusted:
Tadalafil for use as needed: Less than 10 mg every 72 hours. For
once daily use: dose not to exceed 2.5 mg.
Patients should seek emergency treatment if an erection lasts for
more than 4 hours. Use Tadalafil with caution in patients
predisposed to priapism.
Patients should stop Tadalafil and seek medical care if a sudden loss
of vision occurs in one or both eyes, which could be a sign of Non
Arteritic Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION). Discuss increased risk
of NAION in patients with history of NAION.

Warnings
Patients should stop Tadalafil tablets or jelly and
seek prompt medical attention in the event of sudden
decrease or loss of hearing.
Before starting treatment with Tadalafil for BPH,
consideration should be given to other urological
conditions that may cause similar symptoms.

Tadalafil Side Effects
Most common Tadalafil tablets side effects with an
incidence rate of greater than or equal to 2% and more
frequent on drug than placebo observed during clinical
trials were Headache, Dyspepsia, Nasopharyngitis, Back
pain, Upper respiratory tract infection, Flushing,
Myalgia, Cough, Diarrhea, Nasal congestion, Pain in
extremity, Urinary tract infection, Gastroesophageal
reflux disease and Abdominal pain.

Additional, less frequent side effects (Less than 2%) reported in controlled
clinical trials of Tadalafil tablets for once daily use or use as needed. A causal
relationship of these events to Tadalafil is NOT certain.
Body as a Whole — asthenia, face edema, fatigue, pain
Cardiovascular — angina pectoris, chest pain, hypotension, myocardial
infarction, postural hypotension, palpitations, syncope, tachycardia
Digestive — abnormal liver function tests, dry mouth, dysphagia, esophagitis,
gastritis, GGTP increased, loose stools, nausea, upper abdominal pain,
vomiting, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hemorrhoidal hemorrhage, rectal
hemorrhage
Musculoskeletal — arthralgia, neck pain Nervous — dizziness, hypesthesia,
insomnia, paresthesia, somnolence, vertigo

Additional, less frequent side effects (Less than 2%) reported in controlled
clinical trials of Tadalafil tablets for once daily use or use as needed. A causal
relationship of these events to Tadalafil is NOT certain.
Renal and Urinary — renal impairment
Respiratory — dyspnea, epistaxis, pharyngitis
Skin and Appendages — pruritus, rash, sweating
Ophthalmologic — blurred vision, changes in color vision, conjunctivitis
(including conjunctival hyperemia), eye pain, lacrimation increase, swelling of
eyelids
Otologic — sudden decrease or loss of hearing, tinnitus
Urogenital — erection increased, spontaneous penile erection

Tadalafil Overdose
Single doses up to 500 mg of Tadalafil tablets have
been given to healthy subjects, and multiple daily doses
up to 100 mg have been given to patients.
Adverse events were similar to those seen at lower
doses. In cases of overdose, standard supportive
measures should be adopted as required. Hemodialysis
contributes negligibly to Tadalafil elimination.

Tadalafil During Pregnancy
Tadalafil has been classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category B.
Tadalafil is not indicated for use in women. There are no adequate and
well controlled studies of Tadalafil tablets use in pregnant women.
Animal reproduction studies in rats and mice revealed no evidence of
fetal harm.
Animal reproduction studies showed no evidence of teratogenicity,
embryotoxicity, or fetotoxicity when Tadalafil was given to pregnant rats
or mice at exposures up to 11 times the maximum recommended human
dose (MRHD) of 20 mg/day during organogenesis.
