This document provides information about the edTPA assessment for teacher certification. It was created by Stanford University and AACTE to provide a uniform evaluation of teaching skills. Students complete edTPA portfolios in Taskstream, which can then be sent to Pearson for official scoring. The document outlines the student and faculty perspectives in Taskstream and describes how the Pearson integration works. It also addresses some common student and faculty questions.

Detailed Lesson Plan (ENGLISH, MATH, SCIENCE, FILIPINO)Junnie Salud
Thanks everybody! The lesson plans presented were actually outdated and can still be improved. I was also a college student when I did these. There were minor errors but the important thing is, the structure and flow of activities (for an hour-long class) are included here. I appreciate all of your comments! Please like my fan page on facebook search for JUNNIE SALUD.
*The detailed LP for English is from Ms. Juliana Patricia Tenzasas. I just revised it a little.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

3. edTPA Background
• Created out of a need for a uniform and impartial process to evaluate
those who want to become teachers.
• Intended to be used as a summative assessment given at the end of a
educator preparation program for teacher licensure or certification
and to support state and national program accreditation.
• Developed by Stanford University and the American Association of
Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE).
• Multiple-measure assessment system aligned to state and national
standards – including Common Core State Standards and INTASC.
• Stanford partnered with Pearson Evaluation Systems to conduct the
official scoring of edTPA portfolios.
*For additional background information, see
http://edtpa.aacte.org/about-edtpa#Overview-0
5. edTPA – Student Perspective
• Each template contains the required components for each
task.
• Each individual requirement has the appropriate Pearson
Word template, Evidence Chart and handbook attached to it.
• The entire edTPA Portfolio is submitted at the category level.
6. edTPA – Student Perspective
• When students have uploaded all of their work for the edTPA,
they may see a subset or all of the following:
- Submit Work
- Request Comments (Optional)
- Send to Pearson
8. edTPA – Pearson Integration
• Our integration with the Pearson platform, when enabled, gives
students an additional button that allows them to send a copy of their
entire edTPA portfolio to Pearson from Taskstream.
9. edTPA – Pearson Integration
• In order for the Send to Pearson button to appear,
the “Enable Pearson Integration (edTPA)” SSP must
be enabled for the OA.
• The templates for the OA must then also be
mapped using the Template Mapper feature in SA.
10. edTPA – Pearson Integration
• In the TPA Program settings, the manager must enable the integration
for that program, choose the edTPA Assessment Type and select
whether or not to include TaskStream Evaluation.
12. edTPA – Faculty Perspective
The faculty/evaluator view of an edTPA portfolio is dependent upon the edTPA
Template and Program settings.
• In place of or as a supplement to evaluation, edTPA Coordinators may choose
to enable the Reviewer role for their edTPA Programs.
• edTPA Program Coordinators can choose whether or not to enable
Taskstream evaluation. (Enable/Disable the “Submit Work” button.)
• We have two sets of edTPA Templates to accommodate different evaluation
methods.
- One set of edTPA Templates has Local Evaluation rubrics developed by SCALE. In
order to use these rubrics in Taskstream, clients must attend a SCALE training
webinar and submit the Platform Provider Memo to us.
- The other set of edTPA Templates has a basic evaluation method in place of
Meets/Does Not Meet Requirements for clients who choose not to use the Local
Evaluation rubrics.
13. edTPA – Faculty Perspective
• If the edTPA Templates with Local Evaluation rubrics are being used, the faculty
member will be scoring a 3 column, 15 row rubric on a scale of 1-3.
• In edTPA Local Evaluation rubrics, only rubric criterion comments will be released to
students. Numerical values are available in the administrative record only.
14. edTPA – Faculty Perspective
• If the edTPA Templates without Local Evaluation rubrics are being used, the faculty
member will be using a basic Meets/Does Not Meet Requirements with the ability to
provide overall comments.
• In this case, students will see whether or not they met the requirements as well as
any overall comments given.
16. edTPA – Student FAQs
• Should I submit to TaskStream first or send to Pearson first?
- They can submit in any order. However, if the student submits to TaskStream first and the attempt
to send to Pearson fails validation and the contents of the edTPA portfolio need to be changed,
the work will need to be unlocked in order for the student to make changes.
• How can I see if I’ve sent my edTPA portfolio to Pearson?
- The student can access their Scores/Results tab. There is a column that displays the status of the
Pearson submission. They can click History/Comments for further details.
*Note: They can check to see if their work has been sent, however they will NOT be seeing any scores
from Pearson.
• It says the task does not contain the minimum number of files expected OR the
number of attachments for this part of the task has been exceeded. How can I
submit?
- Check the evidence chart for that edTPA task which specifies the minimum and maximum number
of files allowed for each task part. (Located in any of the Directions areas of the edTPA template.)
- If the student is below the minimum number or over the maximum number, tell the student they
will not be able to submit that many files due to Pearson’s specifications and will need to adjust
the amount of files in that requirement accordiningly.
• I am getting an error message that says “Not all requirements have attached files:
Task1PartA, Task1PartB, Task1PartC, Task2PartA, Task2PartB, Task3PartA, Task3PartC,
Task4PartA”. What do I do?
- This is a template mapping issue. Get the name of the TPA program and template and then
request assistance in mapping the template from an Implementation Specialist.
17. edTPA – Faculty FAQs
• I am a faculty member, how can I see if my students have submitted to Pearson?
- Faculty can use the edTPA dashboard to view which students have submitted to Pearson as
well as see the Pearson status.
- Faculty can also see if students have submitted to Pearson by accessing the evaluation
history tab for each student.
• Will the scores from Pearson transfer to TaskStream?
- No, the scores will not transfer via the integration or any other method. We’ve submitted
this as a feature request.
