- 10. How to Perform an ECG recording? • Explain the procedure to the patient and obtain their consent • Ensure the patient is comfortable • Prepare the skin before applying the electrodes • Removal of chest hair • Skin cleansing • Place the electrodes correctly

Posterior leads Leads V7-9 are placed on the posterior chest wall in the following positions: •V7 – Left posterior axillary line, in the same horizontal plane as V6 •V8 – Tip of the left scapula, in the same horizontal plane as V6 •V9 – Left paraspinal region, in the same horizontal plane as V6

- 25. • HOW TO TAKE ECG IN DEXTROCARDIA? • Record ECG with the chest electrodes positioned in a mirror image on the right side of the chest • Labelled clearly with V3R, V4R etc. to demonstrate that right-sided chest electrodes have been used • Reverse the limb electrodes too
