Health Maintenance Organization Case Study
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) was enacted in 1973 it is a prepaid group practice that is
operated by the government. The Government helps HMO meet federal standards and provides loans

alternative health treatment plan for employees. The federal government reimburses the HMOs on a
per capita basis, this means HMOs are paid on a fixed per capita amount. In order for an employer to
qualify for HMO they must provide proof they can provide comprehensive health care and show

Ecosystem Theory And Empowerment-Based Practice
Ecosystem theory and empowerment based practice were used for the assessment and planning in this
intervention plan. Ecosystem theory, especially the five point schema framework, was utilized to
understand the relationship between Judith and her environment; therefore, resources and problems
were identified in Judith s environment (Miley et al 2009; O Melia 1991). Empowerment based
practice was implemented to assist Judith recognized her power from different levels; hence, the
increased power could be used to improve her situation (Parsons 2008). In addition, some of the social

Power which means the access to opportunities, including any resources and social participation (Tew
2002). In Judith s situation, she received various resources that were helping her problem. She
received the support from her sister, who was able to take care her children. In addition, the school
also was providing support to their children. These two resources were helpful in decreasing Judith s
pressure of taking care her children. Furthermore, she also received support from the community
centre in the community level, as she has participated counselling services. Powerlessness involves a
sense of separation from society, the feeling of self blame and hopelessness (Tew 2006). Although
Judith did not mentioned about such feelings, further exploration is needed to understand her
emotional status, because the anxious problem and negative relationship to her children could cause
the feeling of powerlessness. In addition, oppression can be found in Judith s situation. Oppression is
the injustice situation that caused by the exploitation of others; therefore, the opportunities and
resources are taking away from the disadvantage group or individual (DuBois Miley 2008). It was
clear that the landlord was oppressing Judith, because the landlord had power to increase the rent, and
require Judith to maintain the yard and the house. In such situation, Judith was experiencing

Framing
Before coming to grips with the more complex definitions of Framing, it should be understood that
Framing is perceptual; in other words, Framing is not about what is said, but how it is said. There are
several complex definitions of framing which can be broken down into simpler language:
Framing is the relationship between context and information as it determines meaning.
Framing is a template or data structure that organizes various pieces of information.
Framing then, is how things are put. Or the way words and concepts are presented and slanted so that
they will produce a wished for effect. The principal field of human endeavor that comes to mind when
discussing Framing, is... Marketing.
A famous example of framing is one that employs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Online marketers know the value of framing; utilizing keywords and taglines that show how a
customer will benefit from consuming a product can lead to more conversions.
The L Oréal campaign for marketing its brand of women s cosmetics has been famous for its tagline
Because You re Worth It. for decades. This tagline frames a woman s desire to purchase skincare
products, especially those from L Oréal.
Why does a woman buy skincare products from L Oréal? Because She s Worth It. The company L
Oréal has employed many actors and models to speak this line; to have a beautiful, famous woman tell
you that you re worth it adds a degree of impact and permission that could be lacking if this line was
spoken by a business woman. Or would it?
The line Because You re Worth It effects issues that women may have about self esteem and beauty;
these are cognitive biases of an extremely personal nature. Thoughts such as: Am I beautiful? How
can I become beautiful? Do I deserve to be beautiful? Should I purchase skincare products? are
influenced by the verbal frame Because You re Worth It. These four words answer all these questions
at once and seemingly resolve any residual guilt or doubt about skincare purchases or the right to think
about one s personal

In this textbook, materials management includes all activities in the flow of materials from the
supplier to the consumer. Such activities include physical supply, operations planning and control, and
physical distribution. Other terms sometimes used in this area are business logistics and supply chain
management. Often, the emphasis in business logistics is on transportation and distribution systems
with little concern for what occurs in the factory. Whereas some chapters in this text are devoted to
transportation and distribution, emphasis is placed on operations planning and control. Distribution
and operations are managed by planning and controlling the flow of materials through them and by
using the system s resources to achieve a desired customer service level. These activities are the
responsibility of materials management and affect every department in a manufacturing business. If
the materials management system is not well designed and managed, the distribution and
manufacturing system will be less effective and more costly. Anyone working in manufacturing or
distribution should have a good basic understanding of the factors influencing materials flow. This text
aims to provide that understanding. APICS defines the body of knowledge, concepts, and vocabulary

U.s. And Global Economy
In 2008 the U.S. and global economy confronted one of the worst crisis in the history. These financial
crisis were considered the worst since the great depression in 1930 s. Several events took a place early
in 2007 which led to the economy crash, such as, the massive decrease in home prices in the United
States after it was significantly high. This decline in home mortgage market expanded rapidly causing
massive crisis in the whole United States financial sector (Bullard, Neely, and Wheelock 2 4). Those
crisis had dangerous effects on the stock banking industry, insurance firms, and Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac, the two most important enterprises commissioned by the government to assist mortgage
lending, and some other mortgage lenders and financial service organizations. Those crisis generated a
decline in banks and financial associations trust of others, believing that they will never get paid back.
They simply stopped offering loans to people who needed money to buy a house or start a business,
which created a massive decline in the home mortgage market and the whole financial sector of the
United States (Havemann 1) There are number of issues which are believed to be the reason behind
the home mortgage market crisis that occurred in 2008. Firstly the housing bubble , the home
mortgage market problem which our economy is suffering from right now. It started with the bursting
of the U.S. housing bubble which started in 2001 and reached its highest in 2005. The

A Discussion of Three Messages from the Text of...
The text R. and G. are Dead is a story that has a lot of messages and meaning behind a somewhat
comical text. R and G are two characters from the famous text Hamlet by William Shakespeare.
During the course of the play, it flashes from R and G to parts from the play Hamlet so that really the
people that know the play Hamlet are the only ones who really know what is going on. During the
course of the play R. and G. are Dead the characters R and G don t really have a purpose on anything,
including what they do and where they go, they just kind of go with the flow and they don t really
care. During the course of the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard there are

Although this experience may sometimes seem funny when it happens to others, in the end it is one of
the worst aspects of life. What does it mean to be alive verses being dead is one of the main questions
throughout the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead . Throughout the whole play R and G
play with the ideas about death. During the course of the play Rosencrantz even asks what he thinks it
would be like to be dead in a box. The answer is that he would rather be alive when put in the box
with a chance that someone might come along and let him out. While they are playing this game, the
audience is aware that there is a bigger thought behind being in a box, which in the play they are
referring to as a coffin. This box metaphor can also be seen in bigger terms such as life itself. This
metaphor leads the audience to think that they could already be in a box, and they can t get out. This
play makes you question even your own existence when they start playing games like these. During
the course of the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard there are many
messages portrayed including language, identity, and the question of life and death. From the
beginning of the play, the characters use words that have many different meanings behind them, and

Economic Growth And Saudi Arabia
Economic Growth in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has an economy that is largely dependent on oil, with the government maintaining the
biggest control over the country s significant economic activities. Saudi Arabia owns about 16% of the
global oil reserves and is the number one exporter of oil (Saudi Arabia, 2013). In addition, the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was instrumental in the formation of the OPEC (Organization of the
Petroleum Exporting Countries) group, which initially comprised Iraq, Venezuela, Iran, Kuwait and
Venezuela (Energy indicators, 2004). Currently, the petroleum industry constitutes about 80% of the
country s budgetary incomes; about 40% of the country s GDP and 87% of Saudi s export earnings.
Agriculture, in addition to petroleum products, has been a major contributor to the kingdom s
economy since 1970s (Saudi Arabia, 2013). The country has been able to produce enough agricultural
products for their consumption as well as surplus for exportation to the GCC member countries.
Saudi s Pattern of Economic Growth
Initially, Saudi Arabia was largely a subsistence economy, gaining its revenues from subsistence
agriculture and sale of natural resources. The Saudi population was highly dependent on subsistence
farming and was very poor, given that climatic conditions in Saudi Arabia are not favourable for food
production. However, the situation drastically changed when oil was first discovered in 1930 s.
Although a highly sought after commodity, oil prices were

Transportation And The Future Of Transportation
Miles Blakesley Ms. Wiand English 12H 3/16/15 Transportation in the Future The future of
transportation will most likely be very different to current transportation systems. Current projections
say that the world s crude oil supply will be gone by 2070. The demand for alternative options of
transportation methods is increasing at a rapid rate. These new opportunities are expected to bring new
modes of transportation and transportations services in the coming years. Some of these new modes
include electric cars, nuclear cars, hydrogen vehicles, and autonomous vehicles. All of these new
transportation ideas will make a profound effect of the world as we know it today. All of these new
ideas will reduce pollution in the world and lower are dependence on fossil fuels. In the future, senior
mobility and independence are likely to be even more of a vital concern in society. Real challenges
will arise in dealing with the transportation needs of older people in the future. In particular, the fastest
growing age group is the elderly, meaning that in the future there will be a huge need for new
transportation that is both practical and easy to use. These options will mostly differ from independent
driving and from the current mass transit services and could possible include anything from ET3 tubes
to all electric and nuclear powered cars. All of these technologies are very viable options for the future
that can and will greatly revolutionize transportation for the future. Designers

Evaluation Of The Standardized Patient Experience
Reflective Evaluation
The standardized patient experience was useful and interesting for me because I became more
confident and active during nursing practice after that practice exam. This practical exam helped me
recall my professional experience from year 2012 and 2013 when I worked as a nurse in my country.
After that practice exam, I knew how staff nurses deal and communicate with patients from a different
culture and spoke different language. My specialization is nursing education, but I wanted to take
more practical classes during the course or study to obtain first hard experience and confidence in
dealing with patients.
I had the opportunity to elicit a comprehensive health history by using skillful interviewing
techniques. However, I was nervous and panicky because I thought the time will be not adequate to
complete the practical exam. I applied my skills and experience during health history section, but the
problem was I did not deal with any real patient during nursing practical about two years ago. After I
introduced myself to the patients, I started to ask and write patient name, age, and chief complaint.
Then, I started to ask patients about subjective data which included a history of present illness, past
medical history, family history, and personal and social history. I did an appropriate job with
subjective data. I did not ask patients about sexual history during subjective data based on their
situation and age. Also, according to my previous experience

Mr Van Daan Essay
My representation of Mr. Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank (play version) was somewhat
accurate, and somewhat not. Research shows that Mr. Van Daan was optimistic and kept a sense of
humor, while in the play, they portrayed Mr. Van Daan as a grumpy, greedy old man who was always
putting people down, only cared for himself, and didn t get along with Anne. Mr. Van Daan, whose
real name is Herman Van Pels, was born in March 31, 1898, born in Gehrde near Germany. On
December 5, 1925, he marries Auguste Röttgen, called Mrs. Van Daan in the play. One year later, on

Van Daan was always in a bad mood when having no cigarettes, but based on history, Mr. Van Daan
tried to stay optimistic, gave advice, had a sense of humor, and always did what s best for all of them.
One example of Mr. Van Daan doing what s best for everyone and trying to protect everyone is during
a scary situation when burglars were robbing the building which the Secret Annex was located.
According to Anne s diary, Without thinking, Mr. van Daan yelled Police! Hurried footsteps outside;
the burglars had fled. The board was put back in the door so the police wouldn t notice the gap, but
then a swift kick from outside sent it flying to the floor (Frank). This diary entry shows that instead of
hiding and trying and letting Otto Frank attempt to protect them like the play displays, he is brave and
tries to scare the burglars away. The play exaggerates how selfish Mr. Van Daan is, if he was at all.
The play probably exaggerates Mr. Van Daan s selfishness to create drama in the Annex, making the
play more enjoyable. Furthermore, while Mr. Van Daan was portrayed incorrectly for being selfish, he
was portrayed correctly for not getting along with Anne in the play, as the diary has many entries

The Female Characters In Lucy, By Jamaica Kincaid
Lucy Josephine Potter and Mariah, are two of the main female characters in Jamaica Kincaid s novel,
Lucy, which was published in 1990 (Sparknotes). Although the two women reside together in the first
part of the story, it is as if they possess two different consciousness .
Lucy Potter, a Caribbean teenager nineteen years of age, has come to the United States as an au pair.
She is employed by Mariah to take care of her four daughters. Mariah is a middle class housewife who
appears to have the ideal American family. Most likely the story takes place during the late 1960 s and
1970 s. During this period of time, there was a large influx of immigrants who arrived from the
Caribbean, seeking employment and a more prosperous lifestyle. Much of story deals with their
relationship of these two women and their interactions. Mariah often makes an effort to connect with
Lucy, however their perspectives of life s events often contradict each other. Jamaica Kincaid s (born
as Elaine Potter Richardson) stories have been described as autobiographical or memoir fiction. This
is for the reason that, there often exists frequent similarities between her own life experiences and
those of the protagonists in her stories. The same is true of the novel, Lucy. While reading Lucy, one
wonders how many of the author s secrets are hidden within the narratives and events that take place.
Kincaid and Lucy are both from the small island of Antigua. Their homeland is a post colonial society

The Allies Model
The Allies model does not believe that psychology and Christianity are mutually exclusive, but
believes that good psychology can be found in religion, and that religion is more valuable than just
expressing psychological truths and fostering psychological benefits (Entwistle, 2015). When used
together, psychology and theology can find connections on how they influence human behavior. The
Allies model does not underestimate the importance of the book of God s Word and the book of God s
Works. This model believes that God s truths are revealed in the book of God s Word and the book of

Psychology focuses on the workings of God s world, meaning that humans can have a better

greatest challenge to the Christian psychologists is to shape a theory of man s psychological

which is also fully consonant with the penetrating insights of the Christian tradition . Integrating

An Essay On The Blue Mosque
The Blue Mosque, or as its mother language call it The Sultan Ahmet Camii, is an amazing and an
interesting Islamic piece of architect located in Istanbul, Turkey. The blue tiles of the inside, adorning
its interior walls, are the main reason why people call it the blue mosque. I found it interesting to write
about such a historical piece of architecture that was built during the rule of Ahmed I (or the first) in
the early 17th century. A tomb of the founder, like many other mosques, a hospice and a madrasa as
well, all together were found and contained under the name of Külliye in the mosque. The mosque s
function is still a mosque, as it was the first imperial mosque for more than forty years in that time,
and was never converted into anything, not a church nor a museum. Non Muslims are not to enter

Symbolism, Imagery and Allegory in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and A Streetcar Named Desire
Tennessee Williams said, in the foreword to Camino Real, a symbol in a play has only one legitimate
purpose, which is to say a thing more directly and simply and beautifully than it could be said in
words. Symbolism is used, along with imagery and allegory to that effect in both Cat on a Hot Tin
Roof and A Streetcar Named Desire. Both plays tend to share the same kinds of symbols and motifs;
sometimes they achieve the same meaning, sometimes not. It is possible that Williams took elements
from A Streetcar Named Desire to make Cat on a Hot Tin Roof a success. After the success of A

This dialogue is symbolic of Brick s decision to take an ideal past over an uncertain future. The `click
in Brick s head is his escape; it echoes the click of the phone when he hung up on Skipper. It means
that he doesn t have to face the truth anymore just like he didn t with Skipper. The alcohol leads to the
click and the click leads to escape. At the end of the play, Maggie removes both of Brick s crutches
until he satisfies her physically in trying for a baby. This is symbolically forcing Brick to face the
future before wallowing in the past.
In A Streetcar Named Desire, one of the first things Blanche does when arriving at Elysian Fields is
look around for some liquor (Streetcar p.120), just as she looks for an escape from her own past. This
symbolism puts new meaning in Blanche s line [looking down at the glass, which shakes in her hand]:
You re all I ve got in the world, and your not glad to see me! it leaves one wondering whether she is
talking to Stella or to the liquor at this point.
Both Brick and Blanche have idealised their pasts beyond reach. Brick sums this up, stating, those
high hurdles have gotten too high for me, now. (Cat p. 53) This imagery of the high hurdles is
symbolic of the unattainable past Brick strives for. Boxhill believes that Brick saw Skipper as a

find this to be hilarious when I picture it in my head because the falsehood of the museum is amazing.
Normally a museum would be much larger than the individuals playing badminton and the objects
used to play the game. However, in this piece of art, it is the complete opposite and it makes me laugh
when thinking about the game of badminton. Although I am unsure if the artists intended to make the
artwork funny, I believe that it provides a sense of relief for the individuals viewing the pieces. The

Global Warming Is A Huge Issue
Global warming is a huge issues. It is very concerning when we get little amounts of snow during the
winter. There is evidence that weather patterns are changing and unless change happens we will no
longer get to enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer. In my neighborhood we were only allowed to
water our lawns twice a week this year. What will happen if this trend continues?
There is lots of evidence proving that global warming is not a myth. What can we do to help with
rising climate change? One way would be to re think about how we build. There are a lot of new green
building ideas, and people are starting to incorporate into their home designs.

One way would be to change the way we build. Green building by definition is: A building
constructed in a way that minimize waste and include recycled, renewable, and reused resources to the
maximum extent possible. (3) According to the U.S. DOE, buildings emit 52% of all sulfur dioxide,
19% of all nitrous oxide, 38% of carbon dioxide, and 5% of particulate emissions.(fig. 1) Fig.1
By building green buildings; we could greatly reduce our carbon foot print, thus leaving a greener
plant not only for our children but our children s children. The hard task at hand is changing the way
we build. Not only is it hard to break old habits, but it s hard to want to spend the extra money
involved with green buildings. That s because building a green economy requires hiring workers at a
much greater rates than maintaining the world s currently dominant fossil fuel based energy
infrastructure. (4) People need to be educated so that they will realize that the extra money spent up
front will save them in the future. A journal written by, C.Theodore Koebel, Andrew P. McCoy,
Andrew R. Sanderford, Christopher T. Franck, Matthew J. Keefe; entitled Energy and Buildings,

Criricism of Wilkie Collins’ Woman in White Essay
Criricism of Wilkie Collins Woman in White
To Mr. Collins belongs the credit of having introduced into fiction those most mysterious of mysteries,
the mysteries which are at our own doors. So said Henry James in an unsigned review of another
author s work. But his view was certainly not shared by all those who cast their opinions into the fray.
An unsigned review in the Saturday Review said of Collins work, Estimated by the standard of great
novels, the Woman in White is nowhere. Somewhere between these two points are friends and
correspondents of Mr. Wilkie Collins. Novelist George Meredith wrote to Collins himself saying, The
tension of the W[oman] in W[hite] is not exactly pleasant, though cleverly produced. One wearies of

Another is a good natured family lawyer of the old school. A third is a brave and determined lady.
Playing on Collins own comparisons to a court trial this reviewer wrote, They are not staring at the
spectators, or, if they are, they are staring listlessly and vacantly, like witnesses who are waiting to be
called before the court, and have nothing to do until their turn arrives.
Of course many positive critiques of the novel existed. One was written as a direct reaction to the
Saturday Review piece. This anonymous reviewer of the Spectator cried out , The vivid and manifold
emotions with which we read her story are still fresh in our memory, and we retain a lively sense of
the personality of every actor in it from Marian and Laura down to the old parish clerk. Yet we are told
that the author `does not attempt to paint character or passion. He is not in the least imaginative!
Mashallah! This critic ends his or her review stating, To sneer at the best thing of its kind because it is
not something else is a convenient mode of detraction, and, when done with assurance and a certain
degree of literary tact, it may pass with the unwary for authoritative criticism; but it seems a pitiful
thing after all when once the trick of it has been discovered.
And once again a middle road emerged from between the two extreme views. An unsigned in The
Times praised Collins, but with restraint. We must be content to ask, in the name of

Explain Why People Need To Change
Sometimes it can be very difficult to get a group of people to change some of their events, ideals, or
policies. Especially when they have been the same for so long. Being able to deal with the resistance
and eventually create positive change is a very important skill for a leader to have. Without this the
group would never be able to grow or evolve over time. One way to implement change is to present
the situation that is being discussed that needs to change. Then show the possible outcomes and
benefits of the change and weakness of the current situation. Sometimes showing people the weakness
can open their eyes to possible way that can help the group as a whole. If there is still resistance, you

Racism In To Kill A Mockingbird
It is extremely rare and almost impossible to find someone who has the fearlessness to be so different
that they are able to think and act on their own. Human bias is a huge factor contributing to the way
people think. Every day, humans are influenced by the people around them which alter individual
thoughts. Society is open to assistance when making decisions because of the fear that they are wrong
or different. This is where racism appears and becomes a problem just because of the impact people
have on each other. The most effective way to defeat fear is by acknowledging it, and in doing so
humans learn to fight through their fear which eventually results in diminishment. The world would
become a more delightful, friendly place where people think and act on their own. Racism would not
be an issue in society if people fixed a major flaw of not thinking for themselves. Humans do not have
the courage to say their own opinion because they fear to be wrong or different.
A countless amount of decisions are made every day including those in a courtroom. In the book To
Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the outcome of the court case is decided by human flaw and the
inability to think individually. Reverend Sykes says, I ain t never seen any jury decide in favor of a
colored man over a white man... (72). The reality of people not being able to think for themselves
increases the use of racism. The people of Maycomb have been influenced by those around them to a

Channel Mediated Diffusion Essay
Diffusion is categorized as passive transport in which atoms or molecules are moved, often through a
cell membrane, from a higher to a lower concentration. This process involves the spreading of the
solute, which ultimately results in the removal of a concentration gradient (Kate T. et al. 2015).
Typically, there are two types of diffusion across a cell membrane: simple or channel mediated.
Simple diffusion occurs when molecules diffuse easily through the membrane; whereas channel
mediated diffusion occurs when molecules pass through the membrane via protein channels often due
to their size or electrical force. There are several factors which can affect the rate and capability of
diffusion such as molecule and gradient size, temperature and electrical forces. For example, more
extreme temperatures result in a slower rate of diffusion. Thus diffusion at room temperature occurs at
a much more rapid rate than would diffusion at an extremely low temperature. Typically, the higher
the temperature, the more rapid the rate of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dehydration results from a lack of water in the body. This can occur if one is in an environment with a
high amount of solute in the air or water, which leads to osmotic flow of water into that environment
and therefore out of the body s cells. Kidney dialysis is used as an alternative to normal kidney
function when the kidneys stop working properly due to kidney disease (Cloe 2015). The dialysis uses

Argumentative Speech On The National Anthem
Malcolm Jenkins, safety for the Philadelphia Eagles, supported Kaepernick s message but said, My
grandfather served [in the military]. And this is a country that I love. So, me not standing for the
national anthem isn t really going to get me the results that I want. Therefore, Athletes who refuse to
stand for the national anthem should receive a consequence. For instance, they should get fined or
possibly suspended for a few games.
Refusing to stand for the National Anthem shows disrespect to the flag members of armed forces. For
example, The national anthem pays respect to the people who have risked their lives, been injured, or
died defending the US. Without a doubt, this is 100% true because why should someone be able to
take a knee and disrespect the flag when people risked their lives for us to be free. Yes, that s what the
flag represents but people should never bite the hand that feeds you.The writer of the national anthem
sated, it just blows my mind that somebody like (kaepernick) would do what he does to dishonor the
flag of this country and the national anthem when we have young men and women overseas fighting
for this country, that people have died for. I agree with the evidence stated because I feel like everyone
should pay their respects to everyone who fought for the flag. I understand that you aren t supportive
of the National anthem but I feel as if there s another way you can protest. That s not as disrespectful
for instance, taking a knee before or after the national anthem. Lastly, the New Orleans quarterback,
supported Kaepernick s message but disagreed with the delivery: It s and oxymoron that you re sitting
down, disrespecting that flag that has given you the freedom to speak out. As this being stated I agree
with the New Orleans Quarterback because, again there is another way to protest and at least be smart
about what you re doing.
Not standing for the national anthem is an ineffective and counterproductive way to promote a cause.
For instance, Football coach of Clemson University states I don t think it s good to be a distraction to
your team.. I don t think it s good to use your team as the platform. With this being stated he s saying

Red Hunting Hat Analysis
Catcher in the Rye Motif In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, misunderstood protagonist
Holden Caulfield retells his experiences as a teenager in New York City from within rehabilitation. A
recurring motif within the novel is Holden s red hunting cap. Holden s red hunting hat is a symbol of
protection and also symbolizes Holden s independence and his desire to be different from everyone
around him. Salinger uses Holden s red hunting hat to show how Holden tries to differentiate himself
from the phony or fake people he seems to meet so often. An example of this is when Holden is in his
dorm room at Pencey with Ackley and Stradlater when Ackley finds Holden s red hunting cap and
starts questioning him about it. That s a dear shooting hat. Like hell it is. I took it off and looked at it. I
sort of closed one eye, like I was taking aim at it. This is a people shooting hat, I said. I shoot people
in this hat. (Salinger, 26). In this passage, Holden is mentally targeting people as if his hunting hat
would allow him to shoot other people. While Holden is at Pencey, he manages to alienate a majority
of the school after losing the team s equipment, and doesn t have many friends there with the small
exception of Stradlater and Ackley with whom he is friendly with. The people at Pencey, according to
Holden, are all fakes and phonies and Holden imagined himself being able to rid himself of them
whilst donning his red hunting hat. After Holden goes to

John Caird s Vision for His Production of Hamlet Essay
John Caird s vision for his production of Hamlet was to give it a suffocatingly religious atmosphere
where the set was part cathedral, part castle, part graveyard, part attic (Bate 202). Together with set
designer Tim Hatley, he succeeded. Amy Gamerman of the Wall Street Journal characterized the set as
dismal and vacant looking. The set was comprised of luggage, suitcases and old trunks that were
stacked, torn down and restacked again in different ways to make different scenes. Presumably this
element of the set serves the purpose of reinforcing the idea of Hamlet s journey of transitioning from
a life free of pain to a life fraught with the truth of his father s death (Vivier 323). Unfortunately, Kate

Russell Beale s Hamlet stood out for his gentleness and sweetness making Horatio s goodnight sweet
prince (5.2.332) all the more poignant. Though initially Russell Beale s physique seemed an unnatural
choice for the role of Hamlet, in the end his performance was critically acclaimed by most everyone.
Though at the time Russell Beale was forty years old and not the slim young Dane audiences had
come to expect, his performance was one of a kind according to Judylee Vivier of the Voice and
Speech Review (323). She says that the unexpected death of Hamlet s father throws him into such a
sorrowful state that he is vulnerable, open and present in the text (323). Russell Beale plays Hamlet as
the student who desperately wants to go back to the university in Wittenberg. His academic tendencies
become clear as he constantly writes down words and phrases he appreciates in his journal. Judylee
writes that Hamlet is obsessed with words because they are all he has left (323). Writing things down
becomes his way of processing the tragic events of his life (Lloyd).
Many have conjectured that events in Simon Russell Beale s life affected his portrayal of Hamlet.
James Harding of the Financial Times notes that Russell Beale s mother passed away during rehearsals
for this production. The death of his mother perhaps led the lead actor to portray Hamlet in a much
softer way. This unfortunate circumstance may have driven his performance as the loss of a parent

The Alamo
As Texans began firing at the enemy, deadly shrapnel cut through the columns of advancing Mexican
soldiers and killed and injured many. (Bredson 10). The Alamo was a deadly battle in the 1830s over
the independence of Texas from Mexico.
The Alamo was a battle between the Mexicans, and the Texans. The battle was fought over things such
as slavery and to break independence. (The Alamo, Why Did It Happen? Paragraph 2). The battle
started on February 23, 1836 to March 6, 1836. The Texans wanted independence from the Mexicans,
which caused a war. Many people, over 1600 died, and only a few survived, including Susannah
Dickinson and her infant (The Alamo. Paragraph 2).
Towards the end, Santa Anna, a general, was captured. Anna agreed to recognize Texan independence
and told his Mexican forces to leave the state (The Alamo, Why Did It Happen? Paragraph 4). Most of
the Texans were colonizers. They were looking for wealth, and were happy to take the acres of land
the Mexicans were giving (The Alamo, Why Did It Happen? Paragraph 1). On February 23, one
hundred fifty men waited outside of the Alamo. Only a few who approached the Mexicans were
Texans (Ramsdell 30). Many of the Texan soldiers were in a roofless church, also including the
famous Davy Crockett, when Mexican soldiers had busted in the doors (Bredson 11). ... Show more

Summary Of Why Cats Make Better Pets Than Dogs
Why Cats Make Better Pets than Dogs by Sean Curtis
I chose to critically analyze the argumentative Sean Curtis essay, Why Cats Make Better Pets Than
Dogs. Curtis is essentially saying that keeping cats is better than dogs. His position is that it is easier
to keep cats in the house than would a dog. As much as he loves dogs, he claims that keeping them as
house pets is as daunting as having a baby. Mr. Curtis argues that having a dog around changes one s
life drastically. This is opposed to cats which are easy to manage. He further affirms that dogs need to
be constantly fed, walking with them during winters and one s free time, and more attention. This is
opposed to cats which are easy to manage. In this regard, I concur with Sean Curtis ... Show more

Sonnet 130 Analysis Essay
The explication of Sonnet 130 When you think of a sonnet from Shakespeare s time, you think of a
lovey, mushy poem about how the love the writer has for one. Sonnet 130, written by William
Shakespeare, totally goes against the typical sonnets of the time. Shakespeare s Sonnet 130 was
written in the early 1600s. Though it was written in this time, it was not like the rest of the sonnets.
Most of the sonnets at this time were modeled after Petrarch s famous sonnet sequence. He idolized
and idealized his mistress, named Laura. In his sonnets, he praises her beauty, her worth, and her
perfection using metaphors based on natural beauties. While these metaphors had already become a

This report is produced in order to provide clients a basic compare between the two accounting
computer system, Excel and MYOB. By doing this, the customer could choose the best accounting
software depend on the business size and its features.
_The major difference between Excel and MYOB in accounting is that, Excel is a manual system;
mean the users must input all the transactions data manually in the Excel spread sheet. If the firms
have some credit transaction, double entry may be required. Then at the end of an accounting period,
the Excel users (owners) may provide the spread sheet to accountants or someone who have
accounting background to prepare BAS for the ATO or other financial reports for stakeholders.
Unlikely, MYOB or Mind Your Own Business is a specialist accounting software that designed for
small business and is probably the best known accounting software in Australia and New Zealand.
With MYOB the users only need to input the transaction information and the system will
automatically prepare the BAS, financial report and also bank reconciliation. Moreover, MYOB is a
more complex accounting computer system compare to Excel, since it provides different functions that

simple way to design a company.
The way Google has structured its management and divided the stock has put Brin and Page in a
position to which they will be able to retain most of the power of the company aside from
stockholders, whereas management will remain flat under them. The questions that the other
stockholders have about the way the company is structured will not have an effect on the future of
Google. Stockholders will have very little say in the decisions of how to run the company.
Google faces a large amount of competition in the technology industry, but with their management
style believe that they can keep the best and brightest people. This is a company believes in teamwork
and being able to keep everyone happy, not just the customers. This will enable them to keep workers
who enjoy their jobs and want to put their full effort into making Google the best company in tech.
Brin and Page are very determined to not only keep up with other companies in the industry but also
to surpass them in all areas of technology that Google competes in. However, Brin does believe that a

Analysis Of The Poem An Athlete Dying Young
So many young athlete s keep on their mind the fame, fortune, victories, and championships that come
with being a good athlete. Some young athletes take hold of the feeling of being invincible and feel
like they are on top of the world. Some people wonder what it would take to get this young athlete off
this feeling and come down to reality. The answer is quite simple and unforgettable. The answer is
death. Death comes to everyone, even if you are a state champion, star track runner, or captain of the

everyone remember you? In the poem To an Athlete Dying Young by A. E. Housman, the idea of

Housman want the readers to see in this stanza the pedestal that society puts achieving athletes on. The
athlete was glorified so much that the townspeople brought him home shoulder high. Housman is
conveying that the glory an athlete receives comes from the society putting an athlete atop other
people, rather than from inside an individual athlete. The transition from the first stanza into the next
was not very well. To day, the road all runners come/Shoulder high we bring you home/And set you at
your threshold down/Townsman of a stiller town (5 8). This stanza has much to say. Housman first
references back to the town putting the athlete on a pedestal. The athlete is being treated like royalty
because the words shoulder high and threshold give evidence that the townsman think highly of the
athlete. There is a foreshadowing of death at the end of the stanza. The reason of the stiller town is the
setting down of the athlete. Here one can see the call and response between these rhyming lines.
Going back to the beginning of the poem, Housman acknowledged the glory that the athlete acquired
by winning the race. In the next stanza, he elucidates that glory withers away. Smart lad, to slip
betimes away/From fields where glory does not stay (9 10). Housman is praising the athlete for
bowing out early. The athlete wouldn t have won every race and eventually disappoint the crowd. The
glory that the athlete has will not stay once death has come to take them

Asynchronous Transfer Mode Wireless Network
Project name: ATM wireless network ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) has been advocated as an
important technology for all types of services and networks. Most people believe that ATM will be the
standard for the future B ISDN (Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network). From the service
point of view, ATM combines both the data and multimedia information into the wired networks while
scales well from backbones to the customer premises networks. To ensure the success of ATM, lots of
the design issues have been standardized by ATM Forum. Wireless personal communication networks
(PCN) has been growing very fast in the last decade. Nowadays, laptop, cellular phone, and pagers are
very popular. Many systems have been developed to provide different services, such as, Personal
Communications Service (PCS), Portable Telephone Systems, and Satellite Communications System.
Usually, these services do not guarantee QoS (Quality of Services) so they are not suitable for the fast
growing multimedia applications. Due to the success of ATM on wired networks, wireless ATM
(WATM) is a direct t result of the ATM everywhere movement. WATM can be viewed as a solution for
next generation personal communication networks, or a wireless extension of the B ISDN networks,
which will support integrated data transmission (data, voice and video) with guaranteed QoS. WATM
architecture and protocols are already being well discussed. The ATM Forum are currently involved in

The island of Cyprus is the third largest in the Mediterranean with the 2002 population around

which accounts for twenty percent of business (europa.eu.int). For almost thirty years it has been split

And once again a middle road emerged from between the two extreme views. An unsigned in The Times praised Collins, but with restraint. We must be content to ask, in the name of ... Especially when they have been the same for so long. Being able to deal with the resistance and eventually create positive change is a very important skill for a leader to have. Without this the group would never be able to grow or evolve over time. One way to implement change is to present the situation that is being discussed that needs to change. Then show the possible outcomes and benefits of the change and weakness of the current situation. • 26. Racism In To Kill A Mockingbird It is extremely rare and almost impossible to find someone who has the fearlessness to be so different that they are able to think and act on their own. Human bias is a huge factor contributing to the way people think. Every day, humans are influenced by the people around them which alter individual thoughts. Society is open to assistance when making decisions because of the fear that they are wrong or different. This is where racism appears and becomes a problem just because of the impact people have on each other. The most effective way to defeat fear is by acknowledging it, and in doing so humans learn to fight through their fear which eventually results in diminishment. The world would become a more delightful, friendly place where people think and act on their own. Racism would not be an issue in society if people fixed a major flaw of not thinking for themselves. Humans do not have the courage to say their own opinion because they fear to be wrong or different. A countless amount of decisions are made every day including those in a courtroom. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the outcome of the court case is decided by human flaw and the inability to think individually. Reverend Sykes says, I ain t never seen any jury decide in favor of a colored man over a white man... (72). The reality of people not being able to think for themselves increases the use of racism. • 27. Channel Mediated Diffusion Essay Diffusion is categorized as passive transport in which atoms or molecules are moved, often through a cell membrane, from a higher to a lower concentration. This process involves the spreading of the solute, which ultimately results in the removal of a concentration gradient (Kate T. et al. 2015). Typically, there are two types of diffusion across a cell membrane: simple or channel mediated. Simple diffusion occurs when molecules diffuse easily through the membrane; whereas channel mediated diffusion occurs when molecules pass through the membrane via protein channels often due to their size or electrical force. There are several factors which can affect the rate and capability of diffusion such as molecule and gradient size, temperature and electrical forces. For example, more extreme temperatures result in a slower rate of diffusion. Thus diffusion at room temperature occurs at a much more rapid rate than would diffusion at an extremely low temperature. Typically, the higher the temperature, the more rapid the rate of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dehydration results from a lack of water in the body. • 28. Argumentative Speech On The National Anthem Malcolm Jenkins, safety for the Philadelphia Eagles, supported Kaepernick s message but said, My grandfather served [in the military]. And this is a country that I love. So, me not standing for the national anthem isn t really going to get me the results that I want. Therefore, Athletes who refuse to stand for the national anthem should receive a consequence. For instance, they should get fined or possibly suspended for a few games. Refusing to stand for the National Anthem shows disrespect to the flag members of armed forces. For example, The national anthem pays respect to the people who have risked their lives, been injured, or died defending the US. Without a doubt, this is 100% true because why should someone be able to take a knee and disrespect the flag when people risked their lives for us to be free. Yes, that s what the flag represents but people should never bite the hand that feeds you.The writer of the national anthem sated, it just blows my mind that somebody like (kaepernick) would do what he does to dishonor the flag of this country and the national anthem when we have young men and women overseas fighting for this country, that people have died for. I agree with the evidence stated because I feel like everyone should pay their respects to everyone who fought for the flag. I understand that you aren t supportive of the National anthem but I feel as if there s another way you can protest. That s not as disrespectful for instance, taking a knee before or after the national anthem. Lastly, the New Orleans quarterback, supported Kaepernick s message but disagreed with the delivery: It s and oxymoron that you re sitting down, disrespecting that flag that has given you the freedom to speak out. As this being stated I agree with the New Orleans Quarterback because, again there is another way to protest and at least be smart about what you re doing. Not standing for the national anthem is an ineffective and counterproductive way to promote a cause. • 29. Red Hunting Hat Analysis Catcher in the Rye Motif In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, misunderstood protagonist Holden Caulfield retells his experiences as a teenager in New York City from within rehabilitation. A recurring motif within the novel is Holden s red hunting cap. Holden s red hunting hat is a symbol of protection and also symbolizes Holden s independence and his desire to be different from everyone around him. Salinger uses Holden s red hunting hat to show how Holden tries to differentiate himself from the phony or fake people he seems to meet so often. An example of this is when Holden is in his dorm room at Pencey with Ackley and Stradlater when Ackley finds Holden s red hunting cap and starts questioning him about it. That s a dear shooting hat. Like hell it is. I took it off and looked at it. I sort of closed one eye, like I was taking aim at it. This is a people shooting hat, I said. I shoot people in this hat. (Salinger, 26). In this passage, Holden is mentally targeting people as if his hunting hat would allow him to shoot other people. While Holden is at Pencey, he manages to alienate a majority of the school after losing the team s equipment, and doesn t have many friends there with the small exception of Stradlater and Ackley with whom he is friendly with. The people at Pencey, according to Holden, are all fakes and phonies and Holden imagined himself being able to rid himself of them whilst donning his red hunting hat. After Holden goes to ... • 30. John Caird s Vision for His Production of Hamlet Essay John Caird s vision for his production of Hamlet was to give it a suffocatingly religious atmosphere where the set was part cathedral, part castle, part graveyard, part attic (Bate 202). Together with set designer Tim Hatley, he succeeded. Amy Gamerman of the Wall Street Journal characterized the set as dismal and vacant looking. The set was comprised of luggage, suitcases and old trunks that were stacked, torn down and restacked again in different ways to make different scenes. Presumably this element of the set serves the purpose of reinforcing the idea of Hamlet s journey of transitioning from a life free of pain to a life fraught with the truth of his father s death (Vivier 323). Russell Beale s Hamlet stood out for his gentleness and sweetness making Horatio s goodnight sweet prince (5.2.332) all the more poignant. Though initially Russell Beale s physique seemed an unnatural choice for the role of Hamlet, in the end his performance was critically acclaimed by most everyone. Though at the time Russell Beale was forty years old and not the slim young Dane audiences had come to expect, his performance was one of a kind according to Judylee Vivier of the Voice and Speech Review (323). She says that the unexpected death of Hamlet s father throws him into such a sorrowful state that he is vulnerable, open and present in the text (323). Russell Beale plays Hamlet as the student who desperately wants to go back to the university in Wittenberg. His academic tendencies become clear as he constantly writes down words and phrases he appreciates in his journal. Judylee writes that Hamlet is obsessed with words because they are all he has left (323). Writing things down becomes his way of processing the tragic events of his life (Lloyd). Many have conjectured that events in Simon Russell Beale s life affected his portrayal of Hamlet. James Harding of the Financial Times notes that Russell Beale s mother passed away during rehearsals for this production. The death of his mother perhaps led the lead actor to portray Hamlet in a much softer way. This unfortunate circumstance may have driven his performance as the loss of a parent helped ... The battle was fought over things such as slavery and to break independence. (The Alamo, Why Did It Happen? Paragraph 2). The battle started on February 23, 1836 to March 6, 1836. Towards the end, Santa Anna, a general, was captured. Anna agreed to recognize Texan independence and told his Mexican forces to leave the state (The Alamo, Why Did It Happen? Paragraph 4). Most of the Texans were colonizers. They were looking for wealth, and were happy to take the acres of land the Mexicans were giving (The Alamo, Why Did It Happen? Paragraph 1). On February 23, one hundred fifty men waited outside of the Alamo. Only a few who approached the Mexicans were Texans (Ramsdell 30). As much as he loves dogs, he claims that keeping them as house pets is as daunting as having a baby. Mr. Curtis argues that having a dog around changes one s life drastically. The transition from the first stanza into the next was not very well. Asynchronous Transfer Mode Wireless Network Project name: ATM wireless network ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) has been advocated as an important technology for all types of services and networks. From the service point of view, ATM combines both the data and multimedia information into the wired networks while scales well from backbones to the customer premises networks. To ensure the success of ATM, lots of the design issues have been standardized by ATM Forum. Wireless personal communication networks (PCN) has been growing very fast in the last decade.
