My Favorite Dog Essay
Owning a dog is a lot of work You have to take them for walks, runs, feed them, cuddle with them,
and play with them. Getting a puppy is even more work because you have to train them and get
them on schedule. Bulldogs have great personalities. They are cuddly, playful, but are not the
best for children unless they grew up around kids. Since I was around 4 years old, I have been
around dogs. The first one we had was a English bulldog. He had short, stubby little legs. But we
were young, and he would always be knocking us down on our butts. Then we got an american
bulldogfrom my Dad s friend who was moving. She was my favorite dog even though she was lazy
most of the time. She would jump onto my bunk bed with me and was always gentle with me. She
would always end up being my pillow, and I loved that. So I want to figure out which dog would be
better for my lifestyle now. Based on my research and how busy I can get at times, I think it would
be better to have a Olde English bulldog puppy because they are more relaxed. It would also be less
expensive for me. The price of a bulldog varies because you have to buy breeding rights if you want
to breed your dog. I choose to research bulldogs because growing up I had 3 of them, and I would
love to have lots of them. The breeds all had very different personalities, and I loved them all, but
an Olde English bulldog can cost up to $2,500. For an American bulldog, typically you can expect
the cost to average around $1500 $4000

Critical Analysis and Evaluation of 1984, by George Orwell.
George Orwell 1984 The New American Library Copyright 1961 George Orwell George Orwell,
whose real name was Eric Blair, was born in Bengal, India, in 1903. When he was eight years
old, as it was customary, his mother brought him back to England to be educated. He was sent to
a boarding school on the south coast, a school whose students were sons of the upper class. He
was allowed in with lower tuition and not being from a wealthy background, he was subject to
snobbery of the others at the school. In 1917 he went to Eton on a scholarship and he enjoyed
himself, making friends and reading many books. Orwell graduated in 1921 and instead of going
on to a university; he joined the Civil Service and went to Burma as a sergeant in the... Show more

The videotapes with which he spoke against Oceania s politics and Big Brother were used in the
daily Two Minute Hates. In this period of time, work ceased and everyone gathered around a
telescreen, large, flat television screens that pervaded Oceania. Goldstein appeared on the
telescreen and everyone was to scream and mock this man, for he was not right. A young
woman, Julia, instigates a liaison between herself and Winston. Rebelling against Big Brother,
they make love, which Winston believes is a severe thoughtcrime. He felt that sexual
relationships accompanying love would result in a loyalty between individuals that is contrary to
the desires of the Party. They then rent an apartment and take comfort that O Brien, a vigorous,
intelligent man of mysteriously high rank in the Inner Party, is their friend. O Brien lets Winston
read a seditious book. This book describes the relationships of Oceania with Eastasia and Eurasia.
Once O Brien had enough evidence to convict Winston and Julia, the two were arrested in their
rented room. They were imprisoned in the Ministry of Love where O Brien put Winston through
the first two stages of his retraining. Over the nine months of rehabilitation he learned to love O
Brien and they conversed as if friends. The last stage came in the dreaded Room 101, where
Winston was made to face what he secretly feared most, rats. He betrays Julia and is subjugated
physically, mentally,

Stereotypes On American Teenagers
Generation after generation has set stereotypes on american teenagers, but throughout the years the
view of the teenager has been brought more and more into a negative light. While society s
stereotypes of teenagers might exaggerated, the argument is not left without a strong foundation;
due to social media, teens are progressively becoming more vulnerable to peer pressurecapitulating
a loss in their sense of morality as seen in the rising rates of drug addiction, and teen pregnancy.
Peer pressure has been around for decades, but as time has passed the vulnerability of teenagers to
give into the compulsion has increased. Due to the rapid increase in technology, teens are finding
new mediums to compel others to commit actions against ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

More tests to study for. More money to make. More sports to practice. More people to impress. It
s mind boggling the amount of pressure that society places on teens in this generation. As a
result of the staggering increase of stress left on teen s shoulders, many turn to the consumption
of illegal substances to calm themselves, and to allow themselves to take a break from reality. A
study by The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration shows that from
1992 to 2014 marijuana use amongst high school teenagers has increased from 12 percent to 22
percent. This statistic is closely related to the fact that 81 percent of high schoolers think drugs
are easy to get. The fact that teens understand drugs as an easy to get commodity reveals that
teens don t think of drugs as illegal substances that are banned from commercial use in almost all
states, but more as popular retreat to relief and relaxation. Social media also has its ties into teen
drug addiction as it helps provide further confirmation that doing drugs is the cool way to
behave. Recent studies from the Recovery Village, an online psychological informative helpline,
shows that 75 percent of teenagers report that seeing photos on social networks of other teens
smoking weed encourages them to party in the same way. By seeing other peers posts at parties
and behaving in immoral ways, teens are quick to compare their own lives to others lives, and to
begin acting like someone else because they perceive rebellion and popularity as highly

Prenatal Androgen Model Essay
The prenatal androgen model, which has become a clichГ© in the field, argues that homosexuality
in men is due to under exposure to prenatal androgens and in women, due to over exposure.9
Attempts to support the model included hormone measurements, animal experimentations and
studies of rare disorders (i.e., congenital adrenal hyperplasia and testicular feminization) all of
which revealed inconsistent results.10 In the following surge of research in prenatal androgen
model, indirect consequences of prenatal hormone impact, such as digit ratio, fingerprint patterns
and oto acoustic emissions have been studied, without reaching definitive conclusions.9 It is
warranted that prenatal androgenization is essential for malegenderidentity development, but
apparently not decisive.11 Thus,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These hormones have a critical role in cell differentiation during development and help maintain
thermogenic and metabolic homeostasis in the adults.12 Thyroid disorders are highly prevalent in
the population and mostly affect women in childbearing age.13 In pregnancy, thyroid gland
displays mild to moderate enlargement because of increased physiological demands. Thyroid
function is altered by 4 factors in pregnancy: i) the transient increase in human chorionic
gonadotropin (hCG) during the first trimester, which cross reacts with thyroid stimulating hormone
(TSH) receptor; ii) the estrogen induced rise in thyroxine binding globulin (TBG) which is the
major transport protein for thyroid hormone; iii) increased autoimmunity; and iv) increased
urinary iodide clearance, which can cause impaired thyroid hormone production in areas of low
iodine supply.12,14 17 Consequently, the levels of both T3 and T4, the major hormones released
by the thyroid, increase by ~50% and serum TSH levels decrease in the first trimester and increase

The Importance Of Imagination
Patricia A. McKillip is quoted as saying, Imagination is the golden eyed monster that never sleeps.
It must be fed; it cannot be ignored. And, as children people believed in monsters that lurked in the
dim shadows of our bedrooms or hid beneath their bed; monsters that only existed in our
imaginations. As adults, the monsters no longer lurk, ready to pounce from darkness, but are their
imaginations running rampant. When faced with danger, the mindspirals down two different paths
prompted by fear. There is the path of reason. It is an analytical process taking into account of all
the known knowledge and present situation in a logical view. And then, there is imagination,
fantasies crafted by the mind. Imagination is prone to being unrealistic but is strongly influenced
by our emotions. Once the golden eyed imagination monster emerges from fear, it cannot be
ignored as stated in the quote. Imagination becomes vivid in its scenarios, producing the worst of
images, and the mind can do nothing but listen to the monster because it fears the worst over
what is realistic. Imagination overcomes reason when the mind fears its own fantasies to an
extent of overlooking reason. Imagination s strength in fear can be seen in the life and death
situation of the Sailors of Essex in Karen Thompson Walker s TedTalk, Roderick s debilitating fear
of the future in Edgar Allen Poe s Fallen House of Usher, and real life situations where the mind
believes in the unlikely death scenarios

More people will die from obesity than starvation. Many people are gaining excess weight that
ultimately results into Obesity. This is a big controversy because obesity has become one of the
most known reasons for cancer and many other illnesses. It s even affecting children. According to
the American Heart Association, the percentage for child obesity raised to about 18.4% ranging
from children as young as 2 and older. After watching the documentary, Fed Up, by Katie Couric, it
is revealed that the reason percentages for Obesity is rising is due to the fact that many become
addicted to sugar, the amount of calorie intake, and etc. Sugar addiction sources from industries that

A Very Brief Biography of Bethoven
{Quote about Beethoven} According to musicologist Berry Cooper, Beethoven was born on
December 16, 1770 in Bonn, Germany, where his father was the Kapellmeister. His father,
Johann, was a respected tenor, violinist, and teacher of both the clavier and the piano. Although
Beethoven is not considered a child prodigy, Beethoven did start music at an early age. Around
age three, he would often sit on his father s lap and play has his father sang, and abandon his
playmates to listen to his father perform. Some historians believe that he started taking formal
piano lessons at age five, a normal age to start training in piano, from his father. Between the mix
of Beethoven natural talent and his father s pedagogical experience, Beethoven excelled quickly
as a piano and violin player. It was said that Beethoven s father was so intent on Beethoven s
lessons, that he would often bring Beethoven to tears. When he was seven, he made his public
debut in Cologne, with two other of his father s students, where he astounded the audience by the
difficulty of music that was played.1 By 1779, his father could no longer teach the young
composer and searched for other teachers. After going through many teachers Beethoven found
Christian Gottlob Neefe who was the first to allow him to compose. In 1782, his first recorded
work was a set of variations on a march by Ernst Christoph Dressler. This was then arranged by
Neefe and published. This work, even from such an early age showed many

Atrocity Of Prejudice
The American author and poet Maya Angelou once said, ВЁPrejudice is a burden that confuses the
past, threatens the future and renders the present inaccessible.ВЁ Angelou conveys the true atrocity
of prejudice with this statement, revealing it as an enemy of humanity. Harper Lee, another author
of Angelou s period, also discusses prejudice in her novelTo Kill a Mockingbird. Lee masterfully
touches on such a difficult topic in her novel by displaying multiple events to readers, as well as
the effects they have on the characters, through the eyes of a young girl named Scout Finch. Some
instances of prejudice and discrimination present in the novel are MaycombВґs treatment of Arthur
ВЁBooВЁ Radley, Aunt AlexandraВґs perception of Walter Cunningham, and the manner in which
Tom Robinson s trial was handled.
The rumors regarding Boo Radley, born only from the stigma surrounding his lifestyle, are one
instance of prejudice in the novel. At the beginning of the novel, young Scout Finch says, regarding
Radley, ВЁInside the [Radley] house lived a malevolent phantom... Any stealthy small crimes
committed in Maycomb were his work.ВЁ Miss ScoutВґs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In actuality, Mr. RobinsonВґs trial was nothing more than a formality for those who had condemned
him as soon as theyВґd seen the color of his skin. As Atticus Finchsaid when addressing the court,
ВЁThe state has not produced one iota of medical evidence to the effect that the crime Tom
Robinson is charged with ever took place. It had relied instead upon the testimony of two witnesses
whose evidence has not only been called into serious question... but as been flatly contradicted...ВЁ
Here, Mr. Finch calls to attention the fact that there is no evidence that a crime was even
committed, or that Tom Robinson was involved. Furthermore, the truth of Tom Robinson s trial is
that it is a formality, merely meant to precede the guilty conviction his skin color has condemned
him

The Pharmacological Effect Of Antibiotics
The Pharmacological effect of antibiotics.
This practical involved the determination of susceptibility of antimicrobial agents using the Kirby
Bauer sensitivity test as well as investigating the minimal inhibitory concentration of penicillin. This
practical also demonstrated the reversal of penicillin inhibition in the presence or absence of ОІ
lactamase.
Method A nutrient agar plate containing the test organism with attenuated enteric bacteriawas
inoculated by use of a swab dipped into bacterial suspension provided. Inoculation streaks were
done on the entire plate after which the agar plate was left to dry for 5 minutes. The filter paper
disc impregnated with antibiotics was picked up by a pair of forceps, dipped in alcohol and
passed through a flame for sterilization purposes. The filter paper disc were then pressed onto the
agar plate using the forceps and incubated for 48hours at 37 degrees Celsius. The pre incubated
annual radii between the edge of the disk and the edge of the confluent were measured and the
results recorded after incubation took place.
Test tubes containing serial dilution of 1: 1000 brain heart infusion (BHI) broth attenuated with
strains of the bacteria was incubated overnight at 37 degrees Celsius. Incubation was done in the
absence or presence of increasing concentration of penicillin. 200 microliter was pipetted into the
96 well plate after which it was analyzed using a microplate reader using 570nm optical density.

The And Lady Of The Thompson s House
The major theme in this movie is participation within change. Two works related that turns into a
great friendship among a maid named Odessa and the lady of the Thompson s house, Miriam.
Both ladies faced multiple of challenges in the era, where segregation was the ordinary way of
living. In 1955, the boycotthad started in Montgomery, Alabama; shortly after Rosa Parks, a second
African American woman to be arrested due to a sitting arrangements by Jim Crow law on a public
transportation. This affected the southern part of the United States by storm. The African
Americans sought to use this opportunity to make a change in the pivotal case of Plessy v.
Ferguson in 1896, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that racially separate facilities, if equal, did not
violate the Constitution. Segregation, the Court said, was not discrimination. The two women had
changed their own personal views and empowered, influencing those changes amongst others. The
narrator of this story was by Miriam Thompson s daughter, Mary Catherine and she states at the
beginning of the movie, There s always something extraordinary about someone who changes and
then changes those around her. Everyone who had participated in the boycott were uncomfortable,
tired of the normal living activities (segregation), feared of the motion about change, and had the
courage to overcome fear about change.
This inspiration, detailed about the boycotts that had happened in 1955 was a vivid, of what

Serbia s Decision to Fight in 1914 and the Role in Retribution War
Serbia joined World War I that started in July 1914 when Austria Hungary attacked the kingdom
of Serbia just at the onset of the world war one. The Serbia army was severely destroyed losing
over three hundred soldiers. At the time the war ended, Serbia lost over one million citizens both
civilians and the soldiers (Fromkin 12).
On 28 July 1914, just a few weeks after the killing of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife by a
Serbian citizen in Sarajevo, Austria Hungary announced war with Serbia, effectively causing the

diplomatic way to solve the conflict peacefully. However, he outmaneuvered by the more
governmental leadership and aggressive military of Germany. Austria Hungary went ahead to

in four military districts that are in its common border with Austria Hungary such as Galicia. On
that night, Austrian arms divisions commenced a brief, unsuccessful assault of Belgrade over the

one of the Russia s ally, ordered its military generals to mobilize their men that same day and after
two days, Germany and France declared war on each other. The German s soldiers planned an
assault on neutral Belgium on August 4. This forced Britain to declare war on Germany.

Persuasive Essay About Makeup
Holidays such as Halloween seem to allow deviant acts to be committed with no consequences.
However, I committed a deviant act that would have been okay for Halloween but not two
weeks before Halloween. I did my makeup like a deer. Nothing extreme, yet bold enough to get a
few stares and people to notice. This change in makeup although subtle seemed to make a great
change in how people looked at me and treated me. Makeup seems normal and like it s overall
been accepted as a society, however, the current makeup trends call for on fleek or no makeup

why many choose to wear makeup to enhance their beauty not makeup to make themselves appear

The perception people have of OfficeMax as an expensive school supply store is inaccurate. If
prices were actually compared to other stores they would be much lower and if they weren t the
store would price match them. This perception might more have to do with how the majority of
clients that are within the facility work in office jobs. This is a logical explanation since most
come to buy large quantities of office supplies or get 100 s of copies done. This perception of
the store being a high maintenance store with nice clientele is why it was a great choice to
break some norms. I began by working the floor. I would greet customers and ask if they needed
any help finding anything. I mostly got stares back and a simple no. Most people did not want
my help, which is quite odd since on a Friday night we are usually pretty packed and I m flooded

how she wasn t expecting that. She then asks me if it s something all the employees are doing. I
explain that it s not and that I chose to do this. Which leaves her confused. She then says that she
has forgotten what she needed and leaves the store. This shows how once conformity is lost people

A Summary OfFrindle By Andrew Clements
Frindle by Andrew Clements illustrated by Brian Selznick
Nick Allen is a child full of ideas who decides to replace the word pen with the word frindle after
his teacher has told him that words are formed by the people making them, therefore he must try it
out for himself and gets six of his friends to commit to using the word frindle instead of pen.
Nick and his friends made a big show about using the new word every time they needed to say
pen, however Mrs. Granger, the fifth grade, language arts teacher was not in favor of the use of the
word and asked them not to use it. That was not going to stop the group. So, the punishment for
using the word was writing sentences in afterschool detention. The word caught on all over school

by giving the children something to act on that doesn t harm anyone. It also allows for an older

support for the act of progress. The author has demonstrated the dynamics of the classroom

Revulsion In Tod Browning s Freaks
With figurative eye of newt and toe of frog, Tod Browning s Freaks stirs a grotesque, boiling
caldron of Terror, Horror, and Revulsion within the viewer. Perpetually flinging itself between these
three genres of fear, in an artful dance of death, Browning splices, mutates, and combines images to
create a Frankensteins Monster of conjoined dread and trepidation.
Freaks is not a documentary and does not try to resolve or rectify the dilemma between Good and
Evil, Humans and Monsters; or Us vs. Them; and certainly it is not a film promoting Freaks, they

Child Exposure to Domestic Violence Essay example
Child Exposure to Domestic Violence

G. Andrew Smith
The policy issues that seem to be a major concern in the United States is about children being
exposed to domestic violence in the home. No one really looks at what the children have to go
through when this happens. There could be some major damage done to the children that have
been exposed to this happening. Boston police go on an average of about 200 calls a month on
domestic violence. The content of the video on Child exposure to Domestic Violencewas a personal
crime. First we need to understand what the definition of personal crime is: rape, sexual assault,

It seems like the younger the child is they will exhibit a higher level of emotional and
psychological distress then what an older child will. People who commit domestic violence
against one another with a child or children present never think of the outcome and how it will
affect the child or children. If these children continue to see all of this domestic violence
especially if it is a young boy, they may result in continuing this same behavior throughout
childhood. There were not any future implications that were discussed in the video. Yet, I have
some future implications that I would like to talk about. For instance the three year old boy in the
video yet again witnessed his father being arrested for the restraining order that was in place. This
young boy really does not understand what is happening to his family, meaning what is really
happening with his father. A future implication that I think should be in place is one that makes
both parents responsible for the actions of domestic violence, but at the same time then we would
be hurting the child. The world needs to think about the child and not themselves. There is a lot of
content specific information that is relevant to the video that I selected. There was an article that
stated children who live with domestic violence face increased risks: the risk of exposure to
traumatic events, the risk of

A Research Study On T Test
Good Morning LV Team Members!
We made it! This is our last session and as per your request we will go over the t test for the last
time. T test can be used to analyze two data sets that are independent or dependent of each other.
There are 3 types of t test:
The t test dependent, when the same group of subjects is tested at different time interval, different
conditions or more than once. It is also known as the t test for paired samples or t test for
correlated sample (Salkind, 2004, p.184).
The t test independent: A two sample equal variance test is performed
The t test independent: A two sample unequal variance test is performed
I will be using the data from the UC Davis Olive Center reports of 2011 to compute the t test value.

If one has more than two groups to compare then use the ANOVA. There are two way of doing it:
the simple or one way analysis of variance due to the presence of one grouping dimension and the
other one is called factorial design. The factorial design is complex, it is similar to the simple
ANOVA with the addition of more level to the group. For example: number of girls in group1,
group2, group 3 would be simple, now when we add to each group another level like number of
boys that would make it to factorial because each group would have girls and boys.
4 Once you have selected the right statistical test, in our case the t test then we will calculate the
effect size to find out whether the result is meaningful or not. The t test helps us to understand
whether there is statistics significance difference or not.
In our example, we want to find the t test of independency mean. To calculate the t test we need to
calculate the mean, variance (used to calculate the effect size), SD of each lab results.
The t test could be easily calculated using the excel program using four ranges.
The first and the second range would be each group data, then select the number of tail (one tail
has a t test of rejection on one side and two tail would have on each side bell curve) and finally
select the type of t test. One for paired, two for independent with equal variance and three for

traditionally held to be available to every American. In simpler terms, everyone is equal and has
the ability to achieve the perfect life. Though some people will achieve this Dream in their
lifetime, many will not due to certain obstacles and requirements that prevent them from reaching
the American Dream. In the novel The House on Mango Street there are many people who are
struggling to escape the tedious way of life on Mango Street. Esperanza, the narrator of this eye
opening book, tells stories of her friends and neighbors troubles and their attempts at leaving
Mango Street. Many try, but very few succeed due to the many obstacles they face. In this novel,
the guarantee that everyone can be happy is questioned. There are many ideals that can prohibit you
from reaching the American Dream. Throughout life, you will face many challenges and obstacles
you must overcome in order to reach happiness and the American Dream. One main obstacle that
blocks many people from reaching the American Dream is raceand ethnicity. In The House on
Mango Street , the people who come into Esperanza s neighborhood are scared that the neighbors
are dangerous and will hurt them just because of the color of their skin. These visitors are assuming

Due to existing economic expansion, many corporations are searching for new alternatives to get
rid of the guaranteed benefits way of thinking, to using their limited budgets, for increasing
performance. In modern day business salaries increases are decreasing. In order to retain key
employees, enterprises are turning to a more practical way of differentiating their employees and
enhancing performance. To clearly create an associate between rewards and performance of the
firm, they are using power tools like incentives and pay for performance programs. The results of
switching to a performance philosophy help to draw, engage, and retain top talent. In this case, I

The New Testament Gospel By Matthew, Mark, Luke And John Form
The four New Testament gospel books, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John form a conclusive and
powerful portrait of Jesus Christ as the sent son of God. The four books are not in any way
explaining the biography of Christ s complete life, but rather trying to give the fundamental truth of
Christianity, the great truths of the gospeland who Jesusreally is. Each of the named gospel writers
gives a clear and personal perspective of Christ as guided by the Holy Ghost and the themes that
correspond to Jesus. With the exception of the gospel written by John, the other three give some
considerable presentation of well known and familiar accounts and teachings only to be
underscored by the distinct teachings and accounts that support their complete thoughts. These
thoughts by the three writers are brought to a conclusion by John the Apostle, who interprets the
life of Jesus by emphasizing his personhood. Though many writers describe Jesus differently, we
will always come to the conclusion that he is God in flesh.
In Matthew Jesus is portrayed as the Jewish light this is where Jesus was emphasizes the
importance of the Jewish law to his people. Also, Jesus is the authoritative teacher and the king of
the Jews. Also, Matthew clearly points to Jesus divinity since only God can change the laws that
he had given to the people. The gospel of Matthew, Matthew s gospel, is the first book of the four
gospels and also the first book of the New Testament. Matthew s writings are symbolized by an

Literature Review On Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation
Literature Review
Introduction
Every day, men and women suffer from a stroke, when the arteries that bring blood to the brain are
clogged, essentially suffocating the brain. This then damages the brain, leaving the victim unable to
walk or speak properly. Oftentimes, these stroke patients can become hemiparetic, meaning that part
of their brain was damaged, and half of their body became disabled or unusable. However,
neuroscientists and physical therapists have developed a way to train the gait of these hemiparetic
stroke patients, allowing them to walk properly again, using Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation(Cha,
2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). As brain plasticity is damaged
severely during stroke, therapists must consider increasing the plasticity of the brain using
repetition, which RAS utilizes(Cesqui, 2017, Gloag, 1985, Habib, 2009, McIntosh,
2010,Särkämö, 2008, Schneider, 2010, Suh). Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation utilizes repetitive
rhythms in order to develop specific connections between the auditory and motor functions (Cha,
2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). The direct links between the
auditory and motor functions become critical in RAS, as the stimulation of the auditory functions
directly benefit the motor areas of the brain throughout RAS, benefiting gait in hemiparetic stroke
patients (Cha, 2013, Gloag, 1985,Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Morris, 2009, Särkämö, 2008,
Schneider, 2010, Suh, Thaut, 2010).

The Longxing Monastery Of China
The Longxing Monastery is situated in modern Hebei province in the north of China. Previously

Throughout its long history, The Longxing Monastery has been a location of pilgrimage for a

Rupert Murdoch s War On Journalism

seemingly innocent, right winged, news channel, with the slogan We Report. You Decide.
However, as time moved on from the first airing of the news channel, it was as if Fox had
followed a more biased and corrupted route than what had been proposed. It primarily discusses
how Fox News, and perhaps other popular media news outlets, have begun to actively misinform
their viewers for personal or business gain. Originally, Rupert Murdoch, a news corporationCEO,
was deemed as the overall instructor of what was to be represented on the Fox outlet. However,
at the time of his ownership, the news outlet was said to have had zero news value. Therefore, as

The good citizen will education his family and his community by being a role model and

the people around him which impacts the entire community. Roosevelt s ideal citizen focuses
more on the lived experience of a man and his actions in community which reflect on public
engagement. President Roosevelt focuses more on the individual person and he gives examples
of how a good citizen should be because that one person has the power to impact more than just
his self. Roosevelt says, In a free republic the ideal citizen must be one willing and able to take

more emphasis on it because the educational advantages are present. President Roosevelt believes
a good citizen with strong moral character will raise strong children and teach them the values he
was taught. He says, A race must be strong and vigorous; it must be a race of good fighters and
good breeders, else its wisdom will come to naught and its virtue be ineffective. President Roosevelt
is saying without the teachings of good citizenship in the home, future generations will lose the true
meaning of citizenship. All of Roosevelt s characteristics of the good citizen involve education. A

Increasing Minimum Wage For Women And Young Employees
In today s society where men and women are considered equal, there still exist discrimination
against women in relevance to pay gap. Although there are a considerable amount of solutions
being applied to eliminate the issue of gender pay gap such as protective laws by the government,
there would still exist several remaining problems concerning pay discrimination. This essay is
going to discuss whether or not the solution of increasing minimum wagefor women and young
employees could reduce the issue of income inequality such that it would improve all salaries from
different occupations, help single mothers to support the family, and reduce youth unemployment.
The first result from the solution of increasing minimum wageis improving all salaries from
different occupations. Over the last 25 years there have been several changes in employment
pattern between men and women, conceding that there are an average of one third of female
workers are occupying professional jobs which require a more advanced skills by 2004
(Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2006). It can be seen that female employees does not occupy a
certain group of occupation, but a diverse types of employment. In addition to female workers
occupying various kinds of jobs, issues affecting female labor such as genderincome inequality
would cause a broad range of consequences to female employees, which could be reduced by
increasing minimum wage. Moreover, increasing all salaries in all occupations could be the

do so. The Academy awards handed this power to her literally in the form of an award and in
turn, the Grammy awards exposed the underlying racial problems they have been hounded about

These awards meant to celebrate artists have become boxes in the forms of categories designed

The Ancient Mariner Essay
The Ancient Mariner
Through The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Coleridge has created a masterpiece. This epic
reworks the ballad form so that it comes alive and speaks to the Romantic Age, breathing a story
as strange and delightful, mystical and wonderful as the mystery of life itself. The raw power of
the language, the startling speed at which it hurls you along and the arresting questions of the poem
fill your spirit with wonder at the operation of nature and the awesome mystery of evil.
There will always be those men whose imaginations transcend the limitations of their time.

By thy long grey beard and glittering eye, Now wherefore stopp st though me?
The scene is set, and already Coleridge s tightness and conciseness of narrative hastens through.
This powerful stanza and the following few paint a picture of enormous imaginative influence, as
this ancient mariner comes to a disturbing life. The strangeness, mysterious knowledge and
experience and a touch of the supernatural combine to hold the wedding guest in place he cannot
choose but hear . The eerie power of the mariner is contrasted with the joy of the wedding
beginning in the distance. Already we see that what we are entering is a world not of the ordered
but the disturbing not the controlled but the uncontrollable.
Powerful, rapid changes are undergone in the story, as we learn of a ship sailing from port and
then swept into a terrible storm and then a land of ice and snow. The romantic interest in nature is
revealed as the breathtaking wonder of massive icebergs float by in complete stillness, causing a
shiver to run down your spine.
Coleridge s sudden contrasts prove utter magic:
And now there came both mist and snow, And it grew wondrous cold: And ice, mast high, came
floating by, As green as emerald.
This stanza directly follows the intensity of the storm no time is wasted as one breathtaking detail
of nature is exchanged for another of completely different kind. Here the eerie

habits that my family has vigilantly engaged in for the last several years and the beliefs that have
motivated us to adapt this behavior. Before we got engaged in this behavior, we had no idea that an
individual s health outcome is largely determined by what they eat and how they eat it. Constantly
seeking information about diet and healthy eating in general, we gradually changed our behavior
concerning our eating habits. We strongly believed that we could take control of our health status
by deliberately choosing what to and what not to eat.
DISCUSSION
French and British Psychological Society (2010) have stated that health behavior may be
categorized into two: risk increasing behaviors and health promoting behaviors. To live a healthy
lifestyle, we resolved to avoid the former and adapt the latter, and the behavior that we felt was
crucial to pay attention to was healthy eating. French British Psychological Society have
emphasized that the modern food

Joseph Smith and the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter...
It was in the year 1820 in Palmyra, New York that Joseph Smith went into a forest near his house
and prayed to God for the knowledge of what religion he should be apart of. Suddenly God the
Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him giving him the faith that was lost so long ago to
be carried on. He was now given the faith from JesusChrist himself to pass onto others that had
once been lost. Joseph Smith was chosen to restore the Church of Jesus Christ. In the next decade
Joseph Smith published the Book of Mormon, based on the golden plates that he said an angel had
given him (Ayers). Then started setting up the Latter day Saints Church. He did this on April 6th,
1830, in New York. Joseph Smith was seen as the leader of the new faith of Mormonism.
Beliefs of the Latter day Saints:
Church: The Latter day Saints believe in a loving, personal God as our heavenly Father. Since
He is the Father of our spirits, all people are His children and thus all people are brothers and
sisters (Mormon Newsroom). The church/organization is led by a prophet which is the
president of the church as well as 2 councilors. In church the leaders do not aspire to church
positions but rather respond to callings . They believe God was once mortal as well as that
Lucifer was Jesus s brother. Therefore one has both a bad side and a good. When being apart of
the church, one must give 10% of their income to them for the tithe to build God s Kingdom upon
earth like it once was. Church s

At that time, Canada was strongly under the influence of the British presence and people were

Minor Prophet Amos Essay
Amos, as one of the Twelve Minor Prophets, evokes imagery of a fiery orator whose central theme
is the pursuit of justice and righteousness which possesses significance in both ancient times and
today. Amos elevates the concept of justice though human actions to a primacy in the lives of
believers who established a covenant with God since the time of Abraham. We shall exegetically
explore Amos 5:18 24.
He is not a radical, rather Amos prophecies are in the tradition of the oracular style imitative of
many prophets including Moses. The prophetic ministry of Amos in the Northern kingdom is set
against the background of the end of the prosperous reign of Israel s Jeroboam II (793 753 B.C.).

During this time, Israel enjoyed peaceful relations with Judah under the reign of King Uzziah
(792 740 B.C.). The book of Amos begins with six oracles of judgement against Israel s
neighbors: Aram, Philistia, Tyre, Edom, Ammon and Moab (Amos 1:3 2:3), followed by
pronouncement against Judah (Amos 2:4 5). These seven oracles serve as one grand prolegomenon
to his final surmise indictment against Israel. The same judgment is made of each nation, because
they revolted against divine rule. The Hebrew root pЕЎ is used of rebellion against authority of
nations. The rebellion is against the rule of Yahweh (Psalm 2:1 3). Accumulated transgressions lead
to an irrevocable decision to destroy each of the nations. The repetitions establish that they all have
equal standing before God; equally guilty, and they will suffer equivalent fates. The most detailed

Joint Application Design
Throughout the semester in Management Information Class I have learned a lot about information
systems. It was very interesting to learn how the internet works, how you can develop messages
through machines and databases and even how to form some databases. One key point in the
design and implementation of intelligent systems is the process of building knowledge bases. As
most of the research in the AI field has moved from the construction of general purpose problem
solvers to building knowledge based systems that deal with problems restricted to a particular
domain, many techniques have been proposed to acquisition and representation of knowledge
bases. Databases are at the heart of modern commercial application development. Their use... Show

In this case, JAD is defined as a structured workshop where people come together to plan projects,
design systems, or make business decisions (whether IT related or not). Today, JAD is commonly
used for strategic business planning, strategic IS plans, IS architecture definition, re engineering
business processes, detailed system design, process and data modeling, and project management.
This might be the broadest application of JAD so far.
The definition is also expanding on another aspect of JAD the location of the session. In the
earlier days, definition of JAD includes bring users and developers together in a same physical
location. But today, JAD is expanding to include facilitated virtual meetings too. Members
located at remote sites using package software and method of computer supported cooperative
work (CSCW) can be called JAD too. Basically, people would refer to almost any kind of meeting
as a JAD. JAD is considered different thing among different people in relation to RAD. JAD was
used the way originally defined by IBM. It is defined as a technique for developing business
systems.
As the different computer technicians come across JAD some of them have come up with different
names for the design form. As the use of JAD expands from the requirement gathering to other
phases of system development life cycle, many people now refer to JAD as Joint Application

Cultural Values Of The Ojibwa Culture
The Ojibwa or known as the Chippewa in European are people of northeastern North America. The
term Ojibwa is said to mean the puckered moccasin people or they say the French said the word
meant pictograph. The Chippewa Indians mainly lived in the Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota
and Michigan. There was 35,000 Ojibwaon the continent in the mid seventeenth century. They
used the word Anishinabeg to describes themselves which means original people. The Ojibwa
has its own cultural values like honesty, generosity, endurance, wisdom, and strength of character.
All these values have been instilled through education and religious practice. The tribe has had
ties with the French and even helped the French fight against the British in the French and
Indian war. The French traders would even wed Chippewa women. The family was of great
importance to the Ojibwa tribes. Each person in the Ojibwa family has its own role to ensure that
things are done correctly. In the Ojibwa community, the roles between males and females were
seen as complementary. The males would do the hunting and go to war if needed. The men would
also be the ones that do trading and negotiation with the Europeans after the first contact. They
usually hold leadership positions. Even though the society was usually not as organized, there
was still need for leaders. People would gain rank as great warriors, religious leaders, and civil
leaders. The most respected in the towns would be the shaman because of his

I Am A Good Problem Solver And I Have An Analytical Brain
About 3 weeks ago
Many people have different reasons to apply for staff. Mine will sound a little cheesy but its
true. I purely enjoy helping people. It gives me a sense of gratitude when I show someone how
to do things the right way or help someone with their issues. I am a good problem solver and I
have an analytical brain. These traits make my job easy and fun. I know that staff isn t meant to
be a fun job, but keeping a cheerful attitude on job and being friendly to players makes more people
want to come back to the server. I have two modes when being staff; one cheery light mood
when I joke around and talk with players and a serious mood when dealing with issues. I
NEVER allow these two to mix together because that could jeopardize my position and probably
annoy some players. Lastly, I know that certain people apply for the rank because they think it
will bring them respect and make them cool. I have never considered this as a reason to apply
and I frankly hate these types of people. They often end up abusing their power and getting
banned. I have never abused and will never abuse. I am applying because I believe that I have
what it takes to help the server.
Why should we choose you to become staff instead of someone else?
To begin with, I feel I should take part in the staffing community here because I ensure a large
portion of qualified time as well as extreme experiences and a sincere inclination in moderating over
the chat and providing the necessary satisfaction

20 Time Project Research Paper
For my 20 time project, I decided to learn about humane societies and the animals in them. I chose
this project because I enjoy interacting with animals and I liked the idea of helping the
community. I also wanted to help all of the animals around the world that are struggling by
spreading awareness for people to help these animals in need. I was hoping to learn the specifics
about how long animals stay at the humane society, how they make it into the humane society, the
adoption process, and several other things about the animals. I answered these questions through the
internet and an interview that I completed with our local humane society. The interview that I did

I say this because one humane society would do a home inspection and be very precise about the
animals living conditions, while another wouldn t even do a home inspection. I was also surprised
while doing my research how many different types of animals the humane societies could decide to
take in. While looking at the humane society of the united states, there were almost sixty different
species that the humane societies could/may care for. This just blew my mind because I thought
that most only took in dogs, cats, and a few different farm animals (like horses). This just showed

What Is My Dream House Essay
Places we spend our life is veru significant because our moods are affected by the design and
location. Simplicity is beauty. That s what people usually say about many things. But, for me
simplicity is not enough when it comes about my dream house. My dream house would still be
simple but in another manner. It wouldn t be simple that it has simple designs, yet it would be still
appealing in my eyes. Houseis the place to stay together with part of our family. A good house is
the house that makes the dweller feel so comfortable. It is the place where we can shelter and it
gives us protection from rain, heat, strom etc. Everyone has their own choice on what type of

Everyday will be refreshing by the breeze coming from those trees which the peoples of village

Analysis Of The Movie Wall E
Animation is an often under estimated medium, being seen as primarily for kids and cute story s
that somewhat lack in substance. But in recent years, companies like Pixar have done a great job
of making family movies which contain a strong message. Wall E is one of those movies. The
movie takes place in the future, after a point where humanity has pushed the earthto a point beyond
vegetation and is currently living aboard a space ship, in which everything they need is done for
them, even walking. Despite its bleak premise, the title character, Wall E is a cute, lovable, family
friendly robot, who is in many ways more human than what s left of humanity.
We are introduced to a world, literally covered in garbage, that Wall E has been sorting through
for an unspecified amount of time, diligently doing his job to compact and sort all the debris, left
by his human creators. As the film proceeds, we see what a lonely existence Wall E leads until
Eve shows up with her unknown directive, eventually becoming a friend to Wall E. As the film
proceeds eventually we find that Eve s motivation is to check whether the Earth is capable of
vegetation yet, for the humans now aboard the Axiom space station.
After following Eve back to Axiom, we find that through generations of over reliance on the
machines aboard Axiom, humans have become anti social, over weight, lazy versions of their
former selves. At this point, the message of the movie starts to kick in and we begin to see where

Nation of Islam in the Light of Elijah Muhammad Essay
Nation of Islam in the Light of Elijah Muhammad
In 1961 James Baldwin met Elijah Muhammad, the leader of the Nation of Islam movement at the
time. The time Baldwin spent within the Christian Church prior to his meeting with Elijah helped
him analyze what the Nation of Islam did for people. It allowed him to notice that everyone needed
a gimmick to keep them out of the ghetto, and it does not matter what the gimmick is (Baldwin
301). Baldwin realized that the Christian Church was his gimmick, so the Nation of Islam would
never do for him what the Christian Church had already done. Plus, some of the beliefs of the
Nation of Islam were a little far fetched. The Nation of Islam did not function as a very credible
religion during its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had three main ideas he preached that helped him with sales. He wanted black separatism,
everyone to know that white men were evil (which was not hard for African Americans to
believe since the idea already lived within their minds), and to show the inadequacy of
Christianity to African Americans. By preaching these ideas, he eventually had a following of
loyal supporters of his made up religion, who of course paid money to the church. When Fard
was arrested in 1933, he admitted that his teachings were strictly a racket and he was getting all
the money out of it he could (United States 1+). What he preached aided him in his peddling. He
did not take his teachings seriously yet he met a man one day that viewed him as God incarnate.
One night Elijah Poole attended one of Fard s sermons and spoke with him afterwards. He told him
that you re God himself (Marsh 39). At the time, the movement had eight thousand followers
(Marsh 39). At this point, Fard needed to find adamant believers who would serve as ministers for
his money making organization. At this time he recruited Elijah Poole, changed Elijah s name to
Elijah Muhammad and developed him into his Chief Minister. Soon after, Fard left Detroit and
Elijah took over the movement. Elijah was born in Sandersville, Georgia, in 1897 as the seventh of
twelve children. He barely finished the third grade before he dropped out

First Sight Is Real
In my own opinion I will explain to you if I think love at first sight is real. I believe that love at
first glance isn t real because you truly have no idea who that person is. If you like somebody
because of their looks, it s from lust or desire, not love. You have to know the person, not just go
out and propose to every single, pretty person out there, otherwise it could actually lead to bad
decisions and later can harm you.
When we were all little we got told to stay away from strangers because they will kidnap us, well
now that we are older we just assume we are okay, and safe..but we actually aren t. Ted bundy is
a good example of this, Bundy was regarded as handsome and charismatic by many of his young
female victims, traits he exploited to win their trust. He typically approached them in public
places, feigning injury or disability, or impersonating an authority figure, before overpowering
and assaulting them at more secluded locations.. The victims trusted him, because he was
handsome, and well spoken, so they wouldn t of ever thought he was a bad person. Real courage
is displayed in the book beowulf. He was a man who would fight with honor and courage. He
would even disarm his weapon if his enemy didn t have anything to fight with. He jumped in a lake

Analysis Of Swift s The Sun Of The Eighteenth Century
Swift s Neoclassical Classic
The sun of the Eighteenth century shines brilliantly on the era of British wealth and power, filling
every part of great British life with pride and confidence. British literature, no longer stoic and
medieval is revitalized and reclassified. As in the early Renaissance days Restoration authors think
highly of Classical literature. Unlike their predecessors however, they are freer with classical style
and prose. In one such restoration work, patterned after early Greek and Roman Cynics, author
Jonathan Swift Calls the British Isles to action with an unprecedented solution to the problem of
poverty; and exemplifies neoclassical literature in satirical style, sordid subject, and solid structure.
Satire is one of the distinguishing marks that makes A Modest Proposala classic example of
Neoclassical Literature. In his use of Satire Jonathan Swift was undoubtedly influenced by
Greek and Roman cynics who criticized the status quo. Like some of these cynics, instead of
offering a reasonable and moral solution to a social problem, Swift captures the attention of the
Irish people by a proposition of cannibalism. Describing his proposal Swift writes, A child will
make two dishes at an entertainment for friends and when the family dines alone the fore or hind
quarter will make a reasonable dish and seasoned with a little pepper or salt will be very good
boiled on the fourth day especially in winter. In statements like this Swift use the power of

  • 2. My Favorite Dog Essay Owning a dog is a lot of work You have to take them for walks, runs, feed them, cuddle with them, and play with them. Getting a puppy is even more work because you have to train them and get them on schedule. Bulldogs have great personalities. They are cuddly, playful, but are not the best for children unless they grew up around kids. Since I was around 4 years old, I have been around dogs. The first one we had was a English bulldog. He had short, stubby little legs. But we were young, and he would always be knocking us down on our butts. Then we got an american bulldogfrom my Dad s friend who was moving. She was my favorite dog even though she was lazy most of the time. She would jump onto my bunk bed with me and was always gentle with me. She would always end up being my pillow, and I loved that. So I want to figure out which dog would be better for my lifestyle now. Based on my research and how busy I can get at times, I think it would be better to have a Olde English bulldog puppy because they are more relaxed. It would also be less expensive for me. The price of a bulldog varies because you have to buy breeding rights if you want to breed your dog. I choose to research bulldogs because growing up I had 3 of them, and I would love to have lots of them. The breeds all had very different personalities, and I loved them all, but an Olde English bulldog can cost up to $2,500. For an American bulldog, typically you can expect the cost to average around $1500 $4000 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Critical Analysis and Evaluation of 1984, by George Orwell. George Orwell 1984 The New American Library Copyright 1961 George Orwell George Orwell, whose real name was Eric Blair, was born in Bengal, India, in 1903. When he was eight years old, as it was customary, his mother brought him back to England to be educated. He was sent to a boarding school on the south coast, a school whose students were sons of the upper class. He was allowed in with lower tuition and not being from a wealthy background, he was subject to snobbery of the others at the school. In 1917 he went to Eton on a scholarship and he enjoyed himself, making friends and reading many books. Orwell graduated in 1921 and instead of going on to a university; he joined the Civil Service and went to Burma as a sergeant in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The videotapes with which he spoke against Oceania s politics and Big Brother were used in the daily Two Minute Hates. In this period of time, work ceased and everyone gathered around a telescreen, large, flat television screens that pervaded Oceania. Goldstein appeared on the telescreen and everyone was to scream and mock this man, for he was not right. A young woman, Julia, instigates a liaison between herself and Winston. Rebelling against Big Brother, they make love, which Winston believes is a severe thoughtcrime. He felt that sexual relationships accompanying love would result in a loyalty between individuals that is contrary to the desires of the Party. They then rent an apartment and take comfort that O Brien, a vigorous, intelligent man of mysteriously high rank in the Inner Party, is their friend. O Brien lets Winston read a seditious book. This book describes the relationships of Oceania with Eastasia and Eurasia. Once O Brien had enough evidence to convict Winston and Julia, the two were arrested in their rented room. They were imprisoned in the Ministry of Love where O Brien put Winston through the first two stages of his retraining. Over the nine months of rehabilitation he learned to love O Brien and they conversed as if friends. The last stage came in the dreaded Room 101, where Winston was made to face what he secretly feared most, rats. He betrays Julia and is subjugated physically, mentally, ... • 4. Stereotypes On American Teenagers Generation after generation has set stereotypes on american teenagers, but throughout the years the view of the teenager has been brought more and more into a negative light. While society s stereotypes of teenagers might exaggerated, the argument is not left without a strong foundation; due to social media, teens are progressively becoming more vulnerable to peer pressurecapitulating a loss in their sense of morality as seen in the rising rates of drug addiction, and teen pregnancy. Peer pressure has been around for decades, but as time has passed the vulnerability of teenagers to give into the compulsion has increased. Due to the rapid increase in technology, teens are finding new mediums to compel others to commit actions against ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More tests to study for. More money to make. More sports to practice. More people to impress. It s mind boggling the amount of pressure that society places on teens in this generation. As a result of the staggering increase of stress left on teen s shoulders, many turn to the consumption of illegal substances to calm themselves, and to allow themselves to take a break from reality. A study by The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration shows that from 1992 to 2014 marijuana use amongst high school teenagers has increased from 12 percent to 22 percent. This statistic is closely related to the fact that 81 percent of high schoolers think drugs are easy to get. The fact that teens understand drugs as an easy to get commodity reveals that teens don t think of drugs as illegal substances that are banned from commercial use in almost all states, but more as popular retreat to relief and relaxation. Social media also has its ties into teen drug addiction as it helps provide further confirmation that doing drugs is the cool way to behave. Recent studies from the Recovery Village, an online psychological informative helpline, shows that 75 percent of teenagers report that seeing photos on social networks of other teens smoking weed encourages them to party in the same way. By seeing other peers posts at parties and behaving in immoral ways, teens are quick to compare their own lives to others lives, and to begin acting like someone else because they perceive rebellion and popularity as highly ... • 5. Prenatal Androgen Model Essay The prenatal androgen model, which has become a clichГ© in the field, argues that homosexuality in men is due to under exposure to prenatal androgens and in women, due to over exposure.9 Attempts to support the model included hormone measurements, animal experimentations and studies of rare disorders (i.e., congenital adrenal hyperplasia and testicular feminization) all of which revealed inconsistent results.10 In the following surge of research in prenatal androgen model, indirect consequences of prenatal hormone impact, such as digit ratio, fingerprint patterns and oto acoustic emissions have been studied, without reaching definitive conclusions.9 It is warranted that prenatal androgenization is essential for malegenderidentity development, but apparently not decisive.11 Thus,... • 6. The Importance Of Imagination Patricia A. McKillip is quoted as saying, Imagination is the golden eyed monster that never sleeps. It must be fed; it cannot be ignored. And, as children people believed in monsters that lurked in the dim shadows of our bedrooms or hid beneath their bed; monsters that only existed in our imaginations. As adults, the monsters no longer lurk, ready to pounce from darkness, but are their imaginations running rampant. When faced with danger, the mindspirals down two different paths prompted by fear. There is the path of reason. It is an analytical process taking into account of all the known knowledge and present situation in a logical view. And then, there is imagination, fantasies crafted by the mind. Imagination is prone to being unrealistic but is strongly influenced by our emotions. Once the golden eyed imagination monster emerges from fear, it cannot be ignored as stated in the quote. Imagination becomes vivid in its scenarios, producing the worst of images, and the mind can do nothing but listen to the monster because it fears the worst over what is realistic. Imagination overcomes reason when the mind fears its own fantasies to an extent of overlooking reason. Imagination s strength in fear can be seen in the life and death situation of the Sailors of Essex in Karen Thompson Walker s TedTalk, Roderick s debilitating fear of the future in Edgar Allen Poe s Fallen House of Usher, and real life situations where the mind believes in the unlikely death scenarios ... • 9. A Very Brief Biography of Bethoven {Quote about Beethoven} According to musicologist Berry Cooper, Beethoven was born on December 16, 1770 in Bonn, Germany, where his father was the Kapellmeister. His father, Johann, was a respected tenor, violinist, and teacher of both the clavier and the piano. Although Beethoven is not considered a child prodigy, Beethoven did start music at an early age. Around age three, he would often sit on his father s lap and play has his father sang, and abandon his playmates to listen to his father perform. Some historians believe that he started taking formal piano lessons at age five, a normal age to start training in piano, from his father. Between the mix of Beethoven natural talent and his father s pedagogical experience, Beethoven excelled quickly as a piano and violin player. It was said that Beethoven s father was so intent on Beethoven s lessons, that he would often bring Beethoven to tears. When he was seven, he made his public debut in Cologne, with two other of his father s students, where he astounded the audience by the difficulty of music that was played.1 By 1779, his father could no longer teach the young composer and searched for other teachers. After going through many teachers Beethoven found Christian Gottlob Neefe who was the first to allow him to compose. In 1782, his first recorded work was a set of variations on a march by Ernst Christoph Dressler. This was then arranged by Neefe and published. This work, even from such an early age showed many ... Atrocity Of Prejudice The American author and poet Maya Angelou once said, ВЁPrejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future and renders the present inaccessible.ВЁ Angelou conveys the true atrocity of prejudice with this statement, revealing it as an enemy of humanity. Harper Lee, another author of Angelou s period, also discusses prejudice in her novelTo Kill a Mockingbird. Lee masterfully touches on such a difficult topic in her novel by displaying multiple events to readers, as well as the effects they have on the characters, through the eyes of a young girl named Scout Finch. Some instances of prejudice and discrimination present in the novel are MaycombВґs treatment of Arthur ВЁBooВЁ Radley, Aunt AlexandraВґs perception of Walter Cunningham, and the manner in which Tom Robinson s trial was handled. For example: number of girls in group1, group2, group 3 would be simple, now when we add to each group another level like number of boys that would make it to factorial because each group would have girls and boys. 4 Once you have selected the right statistical test, in our case the t test then we will calculate the effect size to find out whether the result is meaningful or not. The t test helps us to understand whether there is statistics significance difference or not. In our example, we want to find the t test of independency mean. To calculate the t test we need to calculate the mean, variance (used to calculate the effect size), SD of each lab results. The t test could be easily calculated using the excel program using four ranges. The New Testament Gospel By Matthew, Mark, Luke And John Form The four New Testament gospel books, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John form a conclusive and powerful portrait of Jesus Christ as the sent son of God. The four books are not in any way explaining the biography of Christ s complete life, but rather trying to give the fundamental truth of Christianity, the great truths of the gospeland who Jesusreally is. Each of the named gospel writers gives a clear and personal perspective of Christ as guided by the Holy Ghost and the themes that correspond to Jesus. With the exception of the gospel written by John, the other three give some considerable presentation of well known and familiar accounts and teachings only to be underscored by the distinct teachings and accounts that support their complete thoughts. These thoughts by the three writers are brought to a conclusion by John the Apostle, who interprets the life of Jesus by emphasizing his personhood. • 31. Literature Review On Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation Literature Review Introduction Every day, men and women suffer from a stroke, when the arteries that bring blood to the brain are clogged, essentially suffocating the brain. This then damages the brain, leaving the victim unable to walk or speak properly. Oftentimes, these stroke patients can become hemiparetic, meaning that part of their brain was damaged, and half of their body became disabled or unusable. However, neuroscientists and physical therapists have developed a way to train the gait of these hemiparetic stroke patients, allowing them to walk properly again, using Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation(Cha, 2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). Previously named the Longcang Temple in old Chinese, the original building sight was first laid in 586 AD., and remains one of the most well preserved large scale ancient Buddhist temples in China. Throughout its long history, The Longxing Monastery has been a location of pilgrimage for a number of Chinese Emperors who famously left offerings to the Buddha statues. Today, the temple houses a number of important historical relics such as the Longcang si stele, which dates to the monastery s foundation and frescos of the bodhisattva Guanyin, and the later constructed Moni Hall which acts as the centrepiece in the entirety of the Longxing Monastery, with an emphasis on light and knowledge. Rupert Murdoch s War On Journalism In the documentary Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch s War On Journalism , Fox News began as a seemingly innocent, right winged, news channel, with the slogan We Report. You Decide. However, as time moved on from the first airing of the news channel, it was as if Fox had followed a more biased and corrupted route than what had been proposed. It primarily discusses how Fox News, and perhaps other popular media news outlets, have begun to actively misinform their viewers for personal or business gain. Originally, Rupert Murdoch, a news corporationCEO, was deemed as the overall instructor of what was to be represented on the Fox outlet. However, at the time of his ownership, the news outlet was said to have had zero news value. Therefore, as Roger Ailes, a former media strategist for several Republican presidential campaigns, joined, and inevitably took over the channel, Fox News began to evolve into something called fair and balanced news reporting. President Roosevelt focuses more on the individual person and he gives examples of how a good citizen should be because that one person has the power to impact more than just his self. Although there are a considerable amount of solutions being applied to eliminate the issue of gender pay gap such as protective laws by the government, there would still exist several remaining problems concerning pay discrimination. This essay is going to discuss whether or not the solution of increasing minimum wagefor women and young employees could reduce the issue of income inequality such that it would improve all salaries from different occupations, help single mothers to support the family, and reduce youth unemployment. For example, healthy eating, physical activity, safe sex, and wearing seat belts are behaviors that would positively impact a person s health, while the opposite behaviors, unhealthy eating, sedentary lifestyle, unsafe sex and desisting from wearing seat belts, can negatively impact the health of an individual. This written assignment will discuss healthy eating habits that my family has vigilantly engaged in for the last several years and the beliefs that have motivated us to adapt this behavior. Before we got engaged in this behavior, we had no idea that an individual s health outcome is largely determined by what they eat and how they eat it. Constantly seeking information about diet and healthy eating in general, we gradually changed our behavior concerning our eating habits. We strongly believed that we could take control of our health status by deliberately choosing what to and what not to eat. DISCUSSION French and British Psychological Society (2010) have stated that health behavior may be categorized into two: risk increasing behaviors and health promoting behaviors. To live a healthy lifestyle, we resolved to avoid the former and adapt the latter, and the behavior that we felt was crucial to pay attention to was healthy eating. It was in the year 1820 in Palmyra, New York that Joseph Smith went into a forest near his house and prayed to God for the knowledge of what religion he should be apart of. Suddenly God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him giving him the faith that was lost so long ago to be carried on. He was now given the faith from JesusChrist himself to pass onto others that had once been lost. Joseph Smith was chosen to restore the Church of Jesus Christ. In the next decade Joseph Smith published the Book of Mormon, based on the golden plates that he said an angel had given him (Ayers). Then started setting up the Latter day Saints Church. He did this on April 6th, 1830, in New York. Joseph Smith was seen as the leader of the new faith of Mormonism. You have to know the person, not just go out and propose to every single, pretty person out there, otherwise it could actually lead to bad decisions and later can harm you. When we were all little we got told to stay away from strangers because they will kidnap us, well now that we are older we just assume we are okay, and safe..but we actually aren t. Ted bundy is a good example of this, Bundy was regarded as handsome and charismatic by many of his young female victims, traits he exploited to win their trust. He typically approached them in public places, feigning injury or disability, or impersonating an authority figure, before overpowering and assaulting them at more secluded locations.. The victims trusted him, because he was handsome, and well spoken, so they wouldn t of ever thought he was a bad person. Real courage is displayed in the book beowulf. He was a man who would fight with honor and courage. He would even disarm his weapon if his enemy didn t have anything to fight with. He jumped in a lake to fight a giant monster at ... Analysis Of Swift s The Sun Of The Eighteenth Century Swift s Neoclassical Classic The sun of the Eighteenth century shines brilliantly on the era of British wealth and power, filling every part of great British life with pride and confidence. British literature, no longer stoic and medieval is revitalized and reclassified. As in the early Renaissance days Restoration authors think highly of Classical literature. Unlike their predecessors however, they are freer with classical style and prose. In one such restoration work, patterned after early Greek and Roman Cynics, author Jonathan Swift Calls the British Isles to action with an unprecedented solution to the problem of poverty; and exemplifies neoclassical literature in satirical style, sordid subject, and solid structure. Satire is one of the distinguishing marks that makes A Modest Proposala classic example of Neoclassical Literature. In his use of Satire Jonathan Swift was undoubtedly influenced by Greek and Roman cynics who criticized the status quo. Like some of these cynics, instead of offering a reasonable and moral solution to a social problem, Swift captures the attention of the Irish people by a proposition of cannibalism. Describing his proposal Swift writes, A child will make two dishes at an entertainment for friends and when the family dines alone the fore or hind quarter will make a reasonable dish and seasoned with a little pepper or salt will be very good boiled on the fourth day especially in winter. In statements like this Swift use the power of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
