upsets their mental equilibrium/stability. We see this in Shutter Island, as we
eventually learn that Andrew Laeddis killed his wife, this is because his wife
murdered their three children in cold blood as she was mentally unstable. Dolores
had told Andrew that she had an insect living inside her brain, she could feel it
clicking across her skull, just pulling the wires, just for fun . But Andrew too
obsessed with work and his alcoholism is blinded to Dolores own mental breakdown
which made him feel guilty that he wasn t there to help her when he should have. He
also mentions to Dr Sheehan that he feels guilty due to his involvement in the
liberation of Dachau, as he had deliberately let the camp commander suffer a slow
and painful death. He later on
