What is Mindful Agile Leadership? It’s the perfect balance of 3 essential elements: Agile Mindset; Mindfulness and Servant Leadership.
These 3 pillars of mindful agile leadership are equally important. Just like the legs of a stool, they provide a stable base encompassing the qualities of all 3 elements. This enables leaders to build a truly agile culture and positive team environment and be a more effective and authentic agile leader.
There is a renaissance in the ways we work, the likes of which we haven’t seen since the introduction of management as a discipline, except perhaps the ideas of flow after World War II.
The flagship is the Agile movement, which has escaped IT and is now transforming organizations, government, and society. But Agile is too narrow a portmanteau, so we call the movement as a whole Human Systems Agility, to embrace all the concepts involved.
In this presentation we’ll explore this human aspect, one that is desperately needed in most IT cultures, through some of our practical experiences.
Presented at SHINE19 online global conference https://www.servicedeskinstitute.com/events-networking/shine19/
The major criteria standing in the way of agile adoption or improvement are in the hands of managers, not the teams themselves. But many managers have been trained to think in ways that are a century old.
Agile organisations require a new mode of management and a new style of leadership. This talk discusses why this is and what this new paradigm might be like for your organisation.

Presentation led by David Gurteen from Gurteen Knowledge within the 'Individual' stream of the World Class theme at the APM Project Management Conference 2016
Games and a Design Thinking Approach to Agile transition help adopt agile practices in various contexts, business areas, projects types and countries.
This presentation is an introduction to Design Thinking and Innovation games and a feedback session from a large-scale agile deployment in one of the largest retail bank in the world. This approach puts design thinking and innovation games at its core as a means to adapt the deployment to the targeted organizational context. Games are design thinker tools that helps us facilitate adoption and ownership of new agile practices in various business areas, projects types and countries. More than seven countries were involved and we were able to collect a large amount of valuable information to support the scaled adoption in a short period. The result of our action opened new possibilities to engage people and experiment better ways to work!
Finding the right metrics to help teams is sometimes difficult. Learn how one organization addresses this issue and helped to create a culture of experimentation.

Leaders are not born. Each of us have leadership qualities. We need to identify our qualities and characteristics which can help us to explore our leadership qualities. This is a classroom and workshop presentation where leadership is discussed, shared and explored. This presentation is a preface to promote bigger leadership concept through out the entire organization.

Leadership Coaching Intercultural Coaching - Monika Chutnik in ETTA business ...Monika CHUTNIK
Get clear about the difference between coaching, training, and mentoring; case studies coaching: become confident when coaching is - and when it's not - right for your own or your employee's challenges; become familiar with usual setups of coaching for leaders in organisations. This slide set comes from ETTA Global Leadership Consulting business breakfast delivered in Wroclaw, Poland, March 2017.
The presentation was made during the Community Service Public Relations Council's annual Spectrum Conference on May 20, 2014.
Program Description: Are you new to a leadership position? Do you aspire to take on a leadership role in your organization?
Do you want to be a better leader or improve your leadership skills? We will provide a “buffet” of
leadership elements to help you improve your capacity to lead. View the selections and sample small
portions on communicating, resolving conflict, project planning and management, goal setting, and
listening. You might have more of an appetite for some offerings and less for others, but there will be
something to satisfy everyone’s hunger for successfully leading themselves, a team, or organization.
Have you ever considered what keeps executives up at night? Beyond a generic interview question, the root cause of their insomnia is usually associated with aligning qualified talent with key positions that enable an organization to effectively execute its business strategy. Not only are companies investing in high-impact leadership development programs, they are also allocating funds to hire organizational consultants who can design strategies that breed succession depth among a diverse slate of internal talent. This session is loaded with practical gems that will aid any organization in building a solid bench of exceptional internal talent.

Creativity is a leadership quality that should be an essential part of the job description. Leaders may not need to be creative themselves, but they need to understand key elements of the creative process.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

7. POSITIVE ROLE MODEL
• What are you trying to model to your followers?
Values
• Leaders embody the culture and
values of their companies
Vision
• Leaders know where they
want to go
Communicate • Sell the values and
the vision and listen
9. Reflect…
What are the values of your organisation NOW?
XXX is a very personal
place. It is like an
extended family. People
seem to share a lot of
themselves.
XXX is a very dynamic
entrepreneurial place.
People are willing to stick
their necks out and take
risks.
XXX is very results
oriented. A major
concern is with getting
the job done. People are
very competitive and
achievement oriented
The glue that holds XXX
together is formal rules
and policies. Maintaining
a smooth-running
organization is important.
17. Competence
• The need to feel like you’re capable!
The feeling that you’re learning and
developing
• Job enrichment; Job rotation
• Skill utilisation
• Vicarious experience… colleagues
• Recognition
19. Does money ever work? €€€
• Importance of pay as a motivator
underestimated?
• Carefully designed performance-related pay
schemes shown to enhance performance very
effectively. A choice around what job to take is
often based on pay, for instance.
• Key is to apply it fairly and to link it to feedback.
20. Overprescribed Goal Setting
• Narrow focus neglecting non-goal areas
• Rise in unethical behaviour
• Cognitive depletion
• Distorted risk preferences
• Corrosion of organizational culture
• Reduced intrinsic motivation (increased
extrinsic)
