This document summarizes the aesthetic restoration of a patient's fractured upper left central incisor. Initially, the tooth had a horizontal fracture at the cervical 1/3 level subgingivally. Through a multidisciplinary approach including lingual orthodontics, gingivectomy, and composite buildup, the tooth was extruded supragingivally. This allowed for restoration with a post and crown, resolving the patient's aesthetic dental problem from the injury-caused fracture.

Class II Malocclusion (Camouflage Treatment)
There are three main patterns of tooth movement that can be used to correct a Class II malocclusion: 1) nonextraction treatment with Class II elastics, 2) retraction of the upper incisors into a premolar extraction space, and 3) distal movement of the upper teeth. Distal movement of the upper teeth is challenging but can be improved with temporary skeletal anchorage to move the molars backwards up to 6mm, correcting the molar relationship. For adolescents with Class II malocclusions, growth modification alone may not be enough and orthognathic surgery to advance the mandible may be necessary if little growth is expected.

This case report describes the orthodontic treatment of a 24-year-old female patient presenting with an anterior open bite. Treatment objectives were to correct the open bite, spacing, establish a normal overjet and overbite, and improve aesthetics and function. Edgewise brackets were bonded and initial leveling was performed. Canine retraction and incisor approximation were accomplished using power chains and arch wires. Cephalometric analysis revealed the lower incisors were positioned too far forward. Arch coordination and 5mm lower arch contraction were performed to achieve the treatment objectives. Over two years of treatment, a Class I canine and molar relationship with satisfactory interdigitation and correction of the open bite were achieved.

Designing Virtual Markets for Fun and Profit - GDC 2013

Abstract: Today's games are full of different kinds of markets for buying and selling virtual goods and currencies, such as item shops, auction houses, NPC vendors, and real-money marketplaces. Some markets are player-to-player, some are publisher-to-player, and some involve even more parties. Some markets are fun to use, some are quick and efficient, and some generate social interaction. Based on economic theory, consulting experience, and real examples, this lecture shows you how to approach this complex space in a structured manner in order to design great markets that support your gameplay or monetization goals.
About the speaker: Dr Vili Lehdonvirta is one of the world's leading scholars dealing with virtual goods and currencies. He is a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics, an adjunct professor at the University of Turku, and the principal author of the World Bank report on virtual economies. He has advised leading interactive entertainment companies including Rovio (Angry Birds), Sulake (Habbo), CCP Games (EVE Online), Digital Chocolate, Gameforge, and Live Gamer. He has lectured at the Game Developers Conference, Game Developers Conference China, Online and Social Games Summit, Virtual Goods Summit, and numerous other industry events. Before his academic career, Lehdonvirta worked as a game developer, creating some of the web's first real-time multiplayer games with a micropayment revenue model. Owners also need to protect pets' paws from salt and chemicals on walkways and provide warm shelter if pets are outside for parts of the day.

There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
