Make sure the video is
visually appealing (720p or
1080p).
Pick a genre that suits the
song and appeals to the
intended target audience.
Ensure that the video is
uploaded via the editing
software so that the
resolution is clear.
Use a variety of camera angles and
shots.
Match the pace of editing
to the pace of the song.
Make sure the actors are committed to
the song and make it look believable.
Distinguish between
performance and narrative or
combination of the two.
Film more shots than you need
so you’re able to work with a
lot.
Be fully prepared for the filming
(ensure that the equipment is fully
charged for example).
Include all aspects of a generic music
video (lip-syncing for example).
Follow the storyboard on set
and only film something that’s
not on the storyboard if the
whole team agree.
Do not
Leave everything to the last
minute so the overall project ends
up lacking quality.
Contribute to conflict between
group members as it will
demotivate everyone and hinder
progress.
Make other members of the
team do all the work and add
pressure to their work load.
Copy the music video
from the chosen song.
Try to edit it all at once, let somebody do main
editing and others maybe contribute suggestions.
