Information Technology In Education
Information Technology in Education, effects of the continuing developments in information technology (IT) on education.
The pace of change brought about by new technologies has had a significant effect on the way people live, work, and play worldwide. New and emerging technologies challenge the traditional process of teaching and learning, and the way education is managed. Information technology, while an important area of study in its own right, is having a major impact across all curriculum areas. Easy worldwide communication provides instant access to a vast array of data, challenging assimilation and assessment skills. Rapid communication, plus increased access to IT in the home, at work, and in educational establishments, could mean that learning becomes a truly lifelong activity—an activity in which the pace of technological change forces constant evaluation of the learning process itself.

size)
– learner-centered
– Learner monitoring & grading system
E-learning is Internet-enabled learning
“Online learning is not the next big thing, it is the
new big thing.”
“We need to bring learning to people instead of
people to learning.”

18. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed education forever.
Learn from the Safety of Your Home In times of crisis,
in-person learning may be unsafe or impossible. In
response to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools and
classrooms nationwide have shut down indefinitely.
The COVID-19 has resulted in schools shut all across
the world. Globally, over 1.2 billion children are out of
the classroom . As a result, education has changed
dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning,
whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on
digital platforms .
Research suggests that online learning has been
shown to increase retention of information, and take
less time, meaning the changes coronavirus have
caused might be here to stay.
“In order to create an engaging learning
experience, the role of instructor is optional, but
the role of learner is essential.”
- Bernard Bull
