We have presented an analytical model of splitters based on Fiber Bragg grating used to detect a Bragg wavelength from the number of wavelengths which are traveling in an optical fiber. The number of grids and grating length can be used as a wavelength shifter.This paper presents experimental results that are used to show the effect of number of grids and the length of the grating on the Bragg wavelength and reflectivity of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG). The pitch of grating is directly proportional to the grating length and inversely proportional to number of grids. When the grating length is fixed and the number of grids is increased, the Bragg wavelength decreases and reflectivity increases. This increase in reflectivity is very small. Further when the number of grids was kept constant and the grating length was increased the Bragg wavelength increases. The effect of this increase in grating length on reflectivity is a very small. In our model, the effectiveness of the grating in extracting the Braggs wavelength is nearly 100%.

microscopes, in spite of the fact that each may use them in different ways and for different purposes.
The principal purpose of any microscope is to form an enlarged image of a small object. As the image is more greatly
magnified, the concern then becomes resolution; the ability to see increasingly fine details as the magnification is
increased. For most observers, the ability to see fine details of an item of evidence at a convenient magnification, is
sufficient. For many items, such as ink lines, bloodstains or bullets, no treatment is required and the evidence may
typically be studied directly under the appropriate microscope without any form of sample preparation. For other types of
evidence, particularly traces of particulate matter, sample preparation before the microscopical examination begins is

- 3. INTRODUCTION Diffraction gratings can be used to separate light of different wavelengths with a high resolution. A diffraction grating is a multiple slit arrangement made by etching lines on a transparent flat piece of material. These lines separate an incident beam of light with high resolution by following principles of diffraction. 3

WORKING PRINCIPLE A parallel beam of light is incident on the grating, by following Huygens's principle each of the transparent slits of the grating become a light source and spread out from each other. These sources interfere with each other, when constructive interference occurs light is made brighter at that point. CONSTRUCTION A diffraction grating consists of a flat piece of transparent material on which lines have been etched having uniform gaps in between. These lines are etched by photolithographic techniques and digital planar holography. The striated muscles present in the human body are a form of natural gratings. APPLICATIONS Some of the typical applications of diffraction gratings are as below: 1.atomic spectra measurement 2.optical spectrometers, monochromators and wavelength multiplexing devices. 4
