Look at the definition of impulse control. Discuss with your partner what it
means and what do kids your age have the most trouble with.
**Being able to control your impulses is a key to success in life. This week we
will be focusing on two types = actions and words.
ACTIONS: Put a piece of candy in front of you. Set the stop watch for 5
minutes. Sit down at a table by yourself, do not talk to others, and do not
get up. If you can wait 5 minutes to eat the candy you may have another
piece. If you give in you DO NOT receive a second piece. After you complete
the activity, mark on the board your data.
Watch the and marshmallows. Come watch this on
your teacher’s Chromebook.
WORDS: Words and attitude out of your mouth can be very damaging to
others. Watch talk about what should come out of your
mouth. Discuss with a partner your reaction to the video. Come watch this
on your teacher’s Chromebook.
