The document discusses Design Thinking Turkey, which promotes design thinking in Turkey. It provides definitions of design thinking, outlines the design thinking process, and gives examples of how to understand people, define problems, create concepts, develop technology, test solutions, and release products. Key aspects of design thinking discussed include empathy, divergent and convergent thinking, prototyping, and iterating based on user feedback.
This document provides an overview of design thinking. It discusses how design thinking is an iterative process that involves empathizing with users, defining problems from the user's perspective, ideating solutions, prototyping ideas, and testing prototypes. Rather than taking problems at face value, design thinking challenges assumptions to reframe problems in a human-centered way. It encourages exploring unknown aspects of problems and generating alternative solutions. The document provides examples of how well-known problems could be viewed more broadly and solved innovatively using a design thinking approach focused on user needs rather than predefined solutions.

This document provides resources for applying design thinking including an empathy map exercise, design cards, a partner worksheet, instructions for brainstorming questions, and links to additional design thinking tools and examples. It also outlines an agenda for a Home Care Design Day focusing on improving support for a client named Joyce, with goals around partnering with her primary care team, ensuring she receives quality support options, enabling only value-added services, and building a stable care team. The document seeks input on what prevents applying design thinking and poses questions to generate ideas for improving Home Care services.
The first prototype of our approaches to move beyond design thinking at DNA. Touching on a number of new tools and techniques as well as theoretical positions from a number of sources. Very much the bleeding edge of our current position.
Paper prototyping allows designers to test user interfaces early in the design process through inexpensive iterations. Key benefits of paper prototyping include testing usability through tangible prototypes on a limited budget. The process involves sketching screen layouts and flow, preparing interactive elements, and testing prototypes with end users to gain insights from their experiences. Tools like wireframes, stencils and prototyping apps support the paper prototyping workflow.
This document provides an introduction to design thinking and UX research. It discusses that design thinking is human-centered and based on observing how people interact with products. The goals of design thinking are to create something desirable for users, viable for business, and technologically feasible. The design thinking process involves understanding users through empathy, defining insights, ideating potential solutions, prototyping ideas, and testing prototypes with users. UX research methods like surveys, interviews, competitive analysis and desk research help understand user needs, wants, and objectives. In-depth interviews involve empathetically learning about users without judgment and asking open-ended "why" questions to gain insights.

Design thinking is a human-centered, creative problem-solving approach that brings together what is desirable from a human point of view, what is technologically feasible, and what is economically viable. It uses five tools for rapid innovation: understanding human needs through three lenses, divergent and convergent thinking, bias toward action, and understanding experiences through stories and feelings rather than just facts and data. The document provides examples of design thinking innovations at Waipahu High School such as improved lunch service and custodian team t-shirts.

Visual Thinking & Social InnovationJeongtae Kim

(Design Thinking for Social Entrepreneurs)Jeongtae Kim

Social entrepreneurship through design thinking: Shared Value and Korea's CasesJeongtae Kim
More and more corporations are employing design thinking to innovate their business models and explore new market opportunities. This presentation points at the intersection of design and business that leads to social innovation.
This poses a challenge to conventional designers who have perceived 'design ' as their own domain of professions. Like entrepreneurs learning 'design thinking' as their 'foreign language', designers should learn 'entrepreneurship' as their 'foreign language'. With this literacy, entrepreneurs and designers together make a huge difference.
MYSC, a design-thinking-powered social innovation consultancy, has spared no efforts humanizing social sectors with human-centered approach innovation.
* Presented at 2015 International Design Conference, Gwangju, Korea
(Human-centered Social Innovation) Jeongtae Kim
Jeongtae Kim
Leveraging Social Media for Development: Lessons Learned and Insight Jeongtae Kim
