The University of Derby has transitioned from paper-based reading lists to using the online reading list system Aspire. This provides benefits to students, academics and library staff. The transition involved piloting with select areas, training staff, and gradually expanding Aspire's use across the university over several academic years. Usage has increased, with over 1000 lists now in Aspire and most linked to the university's course resources system. Feedback from students has been positive and national student survey scores have risen.
