India is the largest democratic state that declares itself as a democratic federal republic. It has a bicameral legislature where the parliament and Rajya Sabha are elected every 5 and 6 years respectively. While India enjoys successes like a corruption-free election commission and no military coups since independence, there are still failures like keeping educated people out of government and candidates influencing voters based on religion, caste, and money rather than qualifications.
