2. The Mobile Autism Risk Assessment ( Mara )
The Mobile Autism Risk Assessment (MARA), conducted by Duda, Daniels, and Wall (2016),
is an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) screen used to classify those who are at high risk for
ASD. ASD is characterized by significant impairments in communicative abilities and social
skills along with repetitive or atypical behaviors (Duda, Daniels, Wall, 2016; p.1953). It is
important to have screening tools to help identify people at risk for ASD. Level 2 screening
tools are used to differentiate ASD from other behavioral or developmental conditions. This
study wanted to test a new parent/caregiver Level 2 screening tool for ASD, the MARA, to
distinguish ASD from other developmental/behavioral disorders. The MARA, established by
Duda, Daniels, and Wall (2016) was given to parents and caregivers electronically. A total of 222
people participated in the MARA and the clinical visit. It includes seven questions, answered by
parents/caregivers, which measure behaviors in children 16 months 17 years of age. The study
was performed in a developmental behavioral pediatrician clinic of a large academic medical
center. The children being evaluated were at the clinic for their first consultation. Medical and
developmental history, a physical, cognitive measures, and behavior and adaptive measures were
conducted at the visit. Most of the children being seen were from Massachusetts. The assessment
started out with informing caregivers through a letter in the mail and a phone call before their

3. An Environmental Impact Assessment For The Queensferry...
1.0Scope of Project
1.1 Background
An environmental impact assessment for the Queensferry Crossing Bridge has been a topic of
discussion for a while because of the concern about the future of the Forth Road Bridge. The new
cable stayed Queensferry Crossing bridge doesn t aim to replace The Forth Road bridge but co exist
parallel to it.
1.1.2Introduction to Project
In 2009, transport for Scotland submitted the Forth crossing bill , the scheme is being taken
forward in accordance with a policy memorandum. The queens ferry crossing will be built
instead of repairing the current forth road bridge. Repairing the current bridge will take between
7 and 9 years, without an alternative crossing, sustained disruption of traffic will have a
significant effect. The queens ferry crossing will provide two lanes in each direction, replacing
road provisions for general traffic, increased travel growth will need to be satisfied by public
transport.
The estimated cost of the scheme is between ВЈ1.325 ВЈ1.35 billion. New technology will be
implemented for the queen s ferry crossing; it will be more climate resistant than the current bridge.
Key feature of the new bridge include:
Use of the latest, more durable materials
Cables that are easier to replace, replacement can be done during normal maintenance work, the
bridge doesn t get shut
dehumidification system inside the box girder, decrease corrosion damage
Modern paint systems decrease corrosion
Thicker road surfaces

4. Dark Matter Research Paper
Dark Matter: The Number One Mystery in Our Universe
Dark matter is a mystery in astrophysics that could not be explained until the 1970s. Even now,
with the understanding of space we have, cosmologists do not know a plethora of knowledge about
dark matter. Dark matter is non baryonic matter that cannot be detected in normal ways and was not
discovered until the 1930s, but is one of the main components of our universe. Dark matter makes
up about 27 percent of our entire universe (Dark Energy, Dark Matter NASA Science), and another
75 percent of all matter (Dunbar). Dark matter forms in giant, unevenly spread clumps around
celestial bodies, mostly galaxies. One theory of how the clusters of dark matter form is the Weakly
Interacting Massive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since when the dark matter particle collide and produce gamma rays, cosmologists can use gamma
ray telescopes to detect the placement of dark matter clumps. Another way to disclose the location
of dark matter clusters is to use gravitational lensing. Light behind galaxies is distorted by the
intervening invisible dark matter within the cluster (Hubble s Dark Matter Map). In the 1930s, an
astronomer named Fritz Zwicky theorized dark matter. He studied the Coma galaxy cluster,
specifically how fast the cluster revolves. The speed of the revolution depends on the weight and
position of the matter within the cluster. The speed that Zwicky measured implied that the cluster
had more matter than what matter was observable. Then, in the 1970s, Vera Rubin and her team
justified Zwicky s idea by studying galaxy rotation with better technology. The work of Rubin
helped to establish the notion of dark matter (Dunbar). Dark matter is one of the main mysteries in
the universe, that cosmologists still do not know much about. Dark matter is non baryonic matter,
discovered in the 1930s, that is a main component of our known cosmos. Dark matter is made after
WIMPs, colliding, making gamma rays. Using the gamma rays emitted, astrophysicists detect the
placement of dark matter. With the next technological advancements in the studies of our universe,
cosmologists can acquire new information about dark

5. Marquis Color Test Paper
As chemist with forensic case work and field experience, I know low cost and low tech methods
of analysis are in demand. While such methods are typically presumptive in nature, they play a
vital role in both lab and field analysis. Presumptive tests allow users to triage samples for
confirmatory analysis, saving time and expense. Whether a crime scene, combat zone, or natural
disaster site, presumptive assays influence command decisions. In technology deficient areas,
presumptive assays may be the totality of the analysis available. Most presumptive tests are
color tests, providing a visual cue to the user as to the presence of a particular compound (1 2).
While color tests have their benefits, a big drawback is the false positive (3), i.e. the erroneous
compound is here . My research focuses on minimizing false positives, false negatives, and
generally improving the selectivity of color tests without sacrificing their ease of use and low cost.

This test is routinely employed in the field, usually as an all inclusive kit like
Safariland s NarcoPouch shown in Figure 1 (4). A positive result is obtained for morphine(DEA
Schedule II), codeine (DEA Schedule II/III), heroin (DEA Schedule I), and over the counter
(OTC) aspirin. The OTC result is a false positive, as a true positive is a scheduled opiate. Colors
noted by users to describe each compound s test include pink, pink to purple, red purple, and
magenta. Given that the accepted reaction mechanism involves the dimerization of opiates (5), it is
conceivable that each of these compound s test results are a different tint or shade of red (i.e.
different pinks) as they correspond to different structures. The challenge for users in discriminating
between compounds are the similarity of resulting colors and limits of the user s color acuity.

6. The Death Of The Funeral Business
Sandy Hingston offers many intriguing views of a funeral service from the conventional method
of a service in a church and the burial of the deceased to a service that more so relates to a party
than a funeral. The Death of the Funeral Business also raises many questions to be pondered by the
reader. Hingston says, A societal changeover from burialto cremationis momentous for our culture.
It signals a cataclysmic shift in how we think about our bodies and ourselves (38). The questions
that arise from this quote are what parallels may Hingston be trying to draw between the trend in
cremation and the way we think about our bodies and ourselves? Why may she be trying to
develop these connections? These are the questions I will be focusing on and how they relate to
what I think the purpose of the article is. I believe the purpose of this article is to show how our
generation is changing the way we view deathand how the use of technology has greatly impacted
the way funerals are done. The question what parallels may Hingston be trying to draw between
the trend in cremation and the way we think about our bodies and ourselves is a pretty loaded
one. The quote, the rise of cremation dovetails neatly with the increase in those of us who have no
religious affiliation (38) answers this question nicely. Without religion, and a sense of my body
matters traveling through people s heads, people are going to realize that there isn t a point to

7. Pros And Cons Of Rotator Cuff Surgery
Rotator Cuff Surgery
Your rotator cuff consists of four muscles in your shoulder that allows you to move your arm away
from your body. These muscles have tendons, which connect them to the head of your upper arm
bone or humerus. When a tear occurs in these muscles, you will experience extreme pain on motion.
A rotator cuff tear is also extremely painful at night. If left untreated, it may result in arm weakness.
Rotator cuff surgery may be required to repair re attach torn tendons to the shoulder. This may be
followed by rotator cuff exercises after surgery to promote further healing and return of function.
Part 1: When Is Rotator Cuff Surgery Necessary?
A partial rotator cuff tear may not need surgery. Conservative treatment consists of rest and
exercise, which help to heal your shoulder. This is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Surgery may also be recommended for a tendon that is torn due to recent injury or when the tear is
not a result of long standing rotator cuff problems.
Part 2: How to Prepare for the Rotator Cuff Surgery
To prepare for rotator cuff surgery, inform your doctor about the current treatments you are
taking. Two weeks before the surgery, you may have to stop taking some medicines that can
interfere with blood clotting such as aspirin, naproxen or ibuprofen. You will also have to see a
doctor to evaluate your medical condition if you have any health problems such as diabetes or
heart disease. Other factors that may affect your surgery are your smoking habits and alcohol
intake, which you must avoid before surgery. Tell your doctor if you have any acute illness such as
flu or fever before surgery.
On the day of surgery, avoid eating or drinking anything six to 12 hours before the operation. Just
take a small sip of water to ingest any medication you are asked to take. Go to the hospital early so
you will arrive on time for your surgery. Part 3: How Is Rotator Cuff Surgery

8. The Murder In The Rue Morgue By Edgar Allan Poe
The mind is a powerful tool that can either empower or enslave, depending on how wisely one
uses it. Edgar Allan Poe, an American author, is a Dark Romantic and Gothic writer. He is also a
famed poet, and critic, who struggled with alcoholism, poor health, and the loss of his loved
ones. He lived a life of poverty, and did not live long enough to see his work become successful.
He is famously known as the father of the detective stories. Poe s intellect is reflected in three of
his short stories such as; The Pit and the Pendulum, The Murder in the Rue Morgue, and The
Purloined Letter. Contrary to most Dark Romantic works, logic and reason trump emotion in Poe s
works. Poe teaches that humanity can overcome emotion in extreme circumstances... Show more

Dupin, the private detective in The Purloined Letter, thinks analytically and ingeniously to solve
a simple case that has the other characters puzzled. Dupin is tasked with finding the Purloined
Letter for Prefect G. The letter has been stolen from a young lady by Minister D from the Royal
apartments with the intent of blackmail. The police have searched Minister D s residence
multiple times without finding the letter. When Prefect G puts a bounty of 50,000 francs on the
letter, Dupin turns over the letter and collects his money. He explains that Minister D is a smart
man and hid the letter in plain sight, disguised as another letter. A seemingly simple discovery,
however proven to be much more difficult. Why, yes; and not exactly that either. The fact is, we
have all been a good deal puzzled because the affair is so simple, and yet baffles us altogether
(Poe 249). Poe s use of mind games in The Purloined Letter reveal how the mind is a tool meant to
construe solutions to difficult problems. Hiding the letter is carefully planned out and requires a
high level of competence to understand exactly where the police would not look. Likewise, it
requires a high level of competence to find the letter and solve the mystery. Dupin is able to do this
through mental focus and apathy, while also thinking the similarly to Minister D. Using
intelligence to solve difficult tasks

9. Usage of Propaganda in Totalitarian Governments versus...
Propaganda is everywhere any human looks. It is the base of almost every government. But,
seeing as how other governments are worse than the American government, it s worse in other
areas of the world. The role of propaganda in a totalitarian government is very important, especially
when compared to a democratic type of government, mostly because democracies don t usually
want to control every aspect of life.
Information or ideas that are spread by an organized group or government to influence people s
opinions, especially by not giving all the facts or by secretly emphasizing only one way of
looking at the facts is what propaganda is ( Cambridge Dictionaries ). So basically, it s the

The Nazis hid their people from the truth. Hitler told his men to just not tell the German people the
truth at all. He just wanted them to know what they needed to know and leave out all of the rest.
Democratic countries, however, are completely opposite. Democratic countries must present at
least some of the truth in their propaganda. Any free person will eventually discover the truth, so
democratic countries don t really think too much of their propaganda. When propaganda has been
uncovered, and the people discover that it is distorted or full of lies, it becomes ineffective (
Democratic vs. Enemy Propaganda para. 5).
The people completely understood democracy. The people used to act together, almost as if they
were like an assembly line. The people used to be in charge of the legitimate authority, and
political power. Nowadays, the only thing the people control is limited. They have the right to pick
and choose who is of the political authority. Then, that political authority is given to by a person
who the people who have elected to lead their country ( Democracy para.1).
However, people have the right to know all of the truth of any situation, so democratic
propaganda has to abide by that rule, no matter how ugly the truth may be. The truth is not only in
the rules of democracy, but is also a slap of reality for a policy that is

10. The Interrelationship Between The Overcoat And Gogol
The interrelationship between The Overcoat, written by Nikolai Gogol, and Gogol, written by
Jhumpa Lahiri, may not be apparent at first, but with the help of My Two Lives, also written by
Jhumpa Lahiri, one can see that both The Overcoat and Gogol are connected by ties that hold
them together. Although Gogol and the speaker in My Two Lives share similar backgrounds and
can directly relate to each other, Akaky can also connect to Lahiri and Gogol because all they all
yearn for acceptance from those around them. One point of comparison is the practice of naming
connects Akaky, from The Overcoat, and Gogol together by having similar practices. Another
similarity between all three works is that each main character questions their identity, eventually
overcoming their struggle of being seen as different.
Both Akaky Akakiyevich, and Gogol Ganguli live in cultures where their nameshave substantial
meaning. Although the way that a person is named differs from culture to culture, the naming
process has similar characteristics. Readers can infer from both The Overcoat and Gogol that
names in Russian and Bengali have significant meaning and helps shape who the person is when
they grow older. However, one thing that varies greatly between these two cultures is when they are
named and how many names they have. In Russian culture, the name is picked after the baby is
born, in which the mother or elders give the child a name and hope that he or she will live up to the

11. Mood And Gender Stereotypes
It has been previously glorified that women are more likely to indulge in food as a result of an
emotional/mood state. The problem with some previous research is the lack of measure in gender
differences. So much of the research available in the context of the influence of mood on eating
habits, focuses on women. It is portrayed on T.V. mostly of a woman
typically after a break up or
termination of a job. It is important to continue to understand both genders in this context equally.
The possible reason for this is the assumption that social ideologies makes food choices between
genders different (Levi, Kenny, Pence, 2006). More specifically, this refers to socially accepted
behaviors and traits of masculinity and femininity. Levi, Kenny,... Show more content on

Mood is considered to be a psychological state that lasts for a short amount of time. From a
psychological perspective, mood can alter our appetite which drives us to make food choices
(Gibson, 2006). From a biological perspective, our eating habits change in order to adapt to
stressful situation (Macht, 2008). Emotional eaters are people who overeat preceding a sad
mood (Adriaanse, De Ridder, Evers, 2011). Previous research neglects the mention of other
emotions, besides sad, have the ability to increase and decrease eating habits. This focus on a
sad emotion comes from the variability across emotions. In studying emotional eating among
adolescents, boys engaged after a confused mood in boys and stress and anxiety in girls (Nguyen
Rodriguez, Unger, Spruijt Metz, 2009). In patients who are bulimic, many binge episodes are
described as anxious and tense (Telch, Argas, 1996). Howver, these specific emotions should not
be generalized as a cause for under eating or over eating. Much of food choices have to do with
self control and in the case of obesity or eating disorders, control is lacking. When a stimuli, like
the smell of food, has taken place it activates impulses to eat and are difficult to suppress because
the brain is seeking instant gratification (Moore, Konrath,

12. Private Property In The Communist Manifesto By Karl Marx
When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they
call me a communist (CГўmara). In 1847, a group known most publicly as the Communist League
met in London. This group commissioned a man by the name of Karl Marx to write a manifesto on
their behalf, soon known as the Communist Manifesto. Marx was a German philosopher,
economist, and sociologist that took his opportunity in writing this manifesto to attempt to explain
the primary goals of communism, as well as define a theory underlying the movement. Marx wanted
to argue the issues of class struggles, exploitation of people, and the process by which a revolution
could occur to better the current system. Marx s theories state specifically that the... Show more

The theory of the abolition of private property for the betterment of society is one that is vastly
misinterpreted and hotly contested by governmental theorists to this day. Marx had a rather
simple explanation for the issues surrounding it though. He had an extreme problem with the
ways in which private property was not acquired for oneself by oneself, and instead, was being
given to the minority of people that held the most power, having a great deal to do with the class
system at the time. The existence of classes and, correspondingly, the disappearance of classes in
a socialist society, in Marx s formulations are tied to social conditions in which legal title to
property ownership is in the hands of a minority of individuals (Giddens). Marx felt as though
the primary gauge of wealth within society was becoming the amount of property any given
person owned, and therefore, the majority of society s wealth existed within the minority s
hands. The activist side of Marx knew that this proposition was one that would not be taken well
within his society simply because it was threatening to attack an entire group of elitist people
that relied heavily on private property as the source of their power. Marx stated, You are horrified
at our intending to do away with private property. But in your existing society private property is
already done away with for nine tenths of the population (The Communist Manifesto, Pg. 225).
Marx suffered a great deal of criticism and objections to communism simply because the people
with the most power felt threatened by it. Communism s goal was not to keep people from
appropriating the products of hard labor, it was merely to keep them from demeaning and harming
others in the process of that

13. Analysis Of The Movie Hundred Dollar Baby
Men generally have the gender role to be the care takers, the fighters, and ultimately the manliest
man possible, while women have been thought to be weak and helpless at the sight of danger. In
the 2006 episode Hundred Dollar Baby of the TV show It s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the
male stereotype promotes males as fighters, but also disproves the general stereotype when some
men run away from a fight. Also, the femalestereotype is challenged when a woman wants to fight
her own battles instead of a mandoing it for her. Stereotypically, males typically assume they are
better fighters than women and while fighting, males seem drunk and tend to show off their bodies
by having their shirts off. Right off of the bat, the male... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This goes against the stereotypical male because males generally stay and fight, especially when
saving a woman is involved.
The next day, Mac and Dennis learn of an underground fighting ring and convince Charlie that he
is the strongest man they know and he would be a great fighter. Once again, the show goes
against the male stereotype by having Dennis and Mac make Charlie fight in their place so they
can make money betting. The guys begin to practice fighting as long as they are explicitly
drunk, suggesting that sober males would lose in a fight or would not fight at all. This proposes
that they do not believe they could win a fight or be in one if they were sober, so all three of
them need to be drunk to make it a great fight. Mac, Dennis, and Charlie all agree that the best
way to be a high quality fighter and trainer is to be intoxicated while in action. The male
characters also emphasize that a male must have his shirt off to show off his muscular body
while fighting, just like Rocky and Terminator because they never wore a shirt when they were
training. Charlotte Jiourosek had said that as the athletic body type grew larger, so did the build
of stars like Rocky and Terminator. Just like Rocky and Terminator, today s men look as if they are
from another planet and would have been distasteful before today s age (233 4). In order for men to

Australia felt as though they had no security due to the surrendering of the British in 1942. This
loss to the Japanese meant that Australia had no protective barrier against the Japs and felt as

Australian soldiers were involved in WWII especially in the Malayan Campaign. More than
20,000 Australian soldiers fought and of these 20,000, 15,000 were taken prisoners of war after
the final surrender. (Daily Mercury, 2012) 14 per cent of troops defending Singapore were
Australians. Australians suffered 73% of the battle deaths. (Murdoch, 2012) This goes to show
that Australia was greatly impacted losing many brave soldiers in battle. The speed and ferocity
in which Japan attacked Singapore was very unsettling for Britain and Australia worrying both
parties, as there was a fear that they could strike again. The fall of Singapore was not the extent of
how the Japanese affected the Australians, within four days of the surrender to the Japanese, 90
Japanese aircraft bombed the north part of Darwin. (Mcarthur, 2011) This was devastating to
Australians affected because they realised that the war could come to Australia and they were not

In this first experiment, it seems to show a solid validity. Since ecological validity is defined as
the conclusions that are analyzed in the research study that can be generalized to certain settings
and situations for whatever is being studied where it would naturally occur. Since this was
studying random people on the street the ecological validity would be pretty high considering that
you can generalize the research findings of the study to a real life situations which this study
demonstrates. The generalizability of this experiment would be a bit low considering the
information provided. Generalizability is defined as an extensions of conclusions to a study based
on a sample population to a population at large. The larger the sample population in the

19. Technical Innovation, Policy Making And Industrial Strategy
Recommendations
While Autonomous car presents enormous potential and benefits, there is a long way to go before
we achieve fully self driving automation. Going forward, there are three areas we would like to
advise on: technical innovation, policy making and industrial strategy.
Firstly, there have been active innovations in modular functionalities. In the technologies list
below, most of them are still in the early stage of the S curve and it will take long time for the

I.Importance of natural method of pest control
The problem with broad range conventional pesticides is that they not only kill the bad bugs, but
they rub out the good bugs, too. A garden without natural predators means a world of insects gone
wild. There s nothing left to keep pest levels in check. In fact, chemicals can mean double trouble
because although you wipe out the first wave of pests, the second wave which is not the usual pest,
but another insect moving into the area can cause even greater losses than the insects you were
trying to get rid of in the first place. Another reason to go natural and use beneficials, is that a
greater number of insects are now showing resistance to chemical pesticides. For ... Show more

Garlic: Mix four quarts water, two tablespoons garlic juice do not use garlic powder, it will burn
plants, 32 grams of diatomaceous earth and one teaspoon or rubbing alcohol.
Effects: spray garlic pesticide on sweet potatoes to repel rabbits
Ground Coffee: Leftover coffee grounds make great ingredients to compost. They work as natural
pesticides and literally perk up ailing plants. Place the grounds into the soil surrounding your
plants. The acidity of the coffee is what keeps invaders at bay.
Vegetable oil: If mildew, mold or fungus is a problem, heres a solution you can spray right on
the plant that makes a big difference in a very short time. Combine a gallon of water, a
tablespoon of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Put into a spray bottle and mist
plants from top to bottom even in places where there are no signs of a problem.
Dish Washing Liquid: If a fungus has invaded your plants, mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid
and water and wipe it down. You ll be surprised how quickly this will rejuvenate sickly looking
plants!
Egg: To get rid of snails and slugs in your garden, add crushed eggshells to your soil. To them, its
walking on glass, so snails and slugs will tend to avoid the area entirely. If slugs are a continuing
problem, a few pinches of salt will make quick work of them.

21. Risk And Implement Falls Prevention Measures
More Staff is Not the Solution to Decrease Patient Falls Falls in an acute care setting lead the list
of injury related deaths and deaths in the elderly. A fall is defined as any event which patients
are found on the floor (observed or unobserved) or an unplanned lowering of the patient to the
floor by staff or visitors (Kalisch, Tschannen, and Lee, 2012, p. 6). Medicare and Medicaid changes
in 2008 list falls as one of the 10 hospitalacquired conditions for which hospitals will no longer be
reimbursed because falls are considered preventable conditions. Joint Commission accredited
hospitals are required to assess for falls risk and implement falls prevention measures. Central to
nursing ethics is the principle of nonmaleficence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patients being admitted to hospitals today have multiple co morbidities and are on a number of
medications making them a high risk for falls. Having an awareness of a patients diagnoses,
pertinent history and current medications is key in establishing an appropriate plan of care.
Staffing shortages can lead to omission of tasks such as a complete admission history and falls
risk assessment. As with any assignment, regardless of the amount of patients one is caring for,
prioritization needs to be utilized when completing tasks and making care decisions. Further work
must be done to assist nurses in completing necessary tasks...which may or may not mean
additional staff members (Kalisch, Tschannen Lee, 2012, p. 11). Developing strategies such as
computerized reminders and checklists are necessary to ensure complete and appropriate nursing
care is delivered. (Kalisch, Tschannen Lee, 2012, p. 11) The lack of proper education on
identification of falls risk and falls prevention measures impact patient falls. Staff turnover and the
use of temporary staff contribute to miscommunication or lack of communication on processes such
as fall prevention measures. Experience levels vary on any given unit. Educational needs
assessments should be routine and include temporary and new staff. Authors Manojlovich, Sidani,

22. Theodore Roosevelt s Childhood, And Ending With His Death
This Biography is on the life of Theodore Roosevelt. Beginning with his childhood, and ending
with his death. Describing in detail his early childhood, the author gives a good explanation of
what motivated the future President in his later years. The book also gives good insight into many
of Roosevelt s decisions during his adult years and political career, along with information from his
personal life, that many people may not have known. Theodore Rooseveltalso known as Teddy
Roosevelt, or Teedie, was born in New York City on October 27th, 1856, to Martha and
Theodore Sr. Roosevelt. He was the second child and first boy of four children. Beginning early
in his life Teddy Roosevelt was a very sick child contracting bronchial asthma when he was only
three years old. Teddy Roosevelt was born into an old, rich and Aristocratic family. Teddy and
his family lived in a small house that was given to his father by his grandfather Cornelius Van
Schaak Roosevelt(Donald, ). Teddy and his siblings were homeschooled along with a family
friend named Edith Kermit. Teddy learned many life lessons from observing his parents, and
close family growing up, and many of those lessons he kept with him his whole life. Teddy was
the only one of his siblings to make the decision to acquire a higher education(Donald, ), going to
Harvard University. After he graduated Teddy had several jobs, including assemblyman, Police

Social classes have existed throughout all of history. The categorizing of slaves on American
Plantations is often overlooked, but there were in fact many levels of slave classes. The use of a
class system helped plantation owners to punish and reward their slaves as well as to keep their
business organized. The lowest class of slaves was those who did field labor. They had the
poorest food, housing, and clothes. These bad conditions motivated them to work harder to earn
better positions. The second class of slaves was the boatmen and the cooks. They had slightly
better food, clothing, and housing than the field labors. Their fear being debunked back to the
field labor prevented them from disobeying. The next class of slaves was the skilled

24. Understanding Our Age By Jacques Ellul Summary
Within society today, many companies utilize technique which is a mode of problem solving that is
used to find the one best method through efficiency and rationality. In his article Understanding
Our Age, Jacques Ellul states that we are bound to see that in a society which has become
extremely technical, the determining factor is both scientific research and the application of science
in the form of technique (Ellul 27). Society s obsession with efficiency and rationality has
succumbed workers to solutions that do not focus on their needs but rather on the fastest method
possible to get the task accomplished. When a systemic problem arises, society s first response is to
fix that problem with a technical solution which only fuels the unending cycle of technical
solutions generating additional technical problems.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

all our activities (Ellul 58). We see results of technique in our daily lives without even realizing it
and it can be problematic that society willing allows for technique to take over many facets of how
we perform in aspects of our work. Ellul continues, stating that work has changed character, [it]

beneficial to Tom and the team. Falls are a serious health concern for people and an important
issue for nurses. Many factors contribute to the causes of falls, apart from cognitive impairment.
The consequences of patient falls are becoming a serious issue for patients and society. I
discovered preventive strategies could be used as a theory to minimise falls in older people
using different literature reviews. A fall however can be defined as an unexpected, involuntary
loss of balance by which a person comes to rest at lower or ground level (Commodove, 1995).
The older population is growing in number, and falling is common in this group up to one third
of people over the age of 65 falls each year, with half reporting multiple falling episodes (Bludau
and Lipsitz, 1997). Savage and Matheisk Kraft, (2001) states that fall related injury is the sixth
highest cause of in older people. Half of those ages over 75 years who fracture their hip as a result
of a fall die within one year (Rawskey, 1998), and those who survive rarely regain complete
mobility (Marotolli et al 1992). Falls are associated with major morbidity, functional decline and

The Art of Technology in Schools
All types of technology are becoming more prevalent everywhere. Everyone has a tablet,
laptop, smart phone, iPad or some type of technology in this day and age. It seems as if kids are
gaining more access to these technologies because of their schools. In schools students are being
given technology for homework and online textbooks now. Students are also getting exposure to
technology as teaching aids in schools as well. Many people believe that technology in class
rooms is a recipe for disaster. Students will just be distracted and not use the technology what it
is meant for. While there are disadvantages to the technology within schools as teaching aids and
free use technology for students; there are many advantages to these technologies, and ultimately
technology is very beneficial for students and teachers.
On the surface technology in the classroom as free use is just asking for distractions
during class. During lecture students are going to be on social media, YouTube, playing games,
or listening to music. As technology being a distraction is just one of the many disadvantages,
this is the biggest issue. In an article written by Kate Bane talking about technology being a

30. Media Credibility In Social Media
Surveys indicate that in 2016, most Americans, 62%, used social media to access news (Pew
Research Center, 2016). Nearly 80% of American journalists use social media (Lee, 2015). Social
media has become a source for both creating and obtaining news (Yamamoto, Nah, Chung, 2017).
As technology changes how people receive news, it also changes how they evaluate credibility (Lee,
2015). Researchinto media credibility has evolved over the years, a simplified definition of media
credibility might be believability, accuracy, and trustworthiness (Calvo Porral. MartГnez
FernГЎndez, Juanatey Boga, 2014). Media credibility focuses on the believability of the news
channel. Source credibility focuses on the senders of the messages (Bucy, 2003).
Several theorists have posited in the evaluation the perception of credibility. The current study
aims to concentrate on methods social media users may develop to evaluate the credibility of the
news they access online as well as how familiarity affects the user s perceptions of credibility.
Research indicates that social media users evaluate credibility based on familiarity with the brand
(Calvo Porral. MartГnez FernГЎndez, Juanatey Boga, 2014). In other words, if a social media user
is familiar with The New York Times, they are more likely to trust the news posted on social
media if it comes from the New York Times. Brand familiarity allows social media users to quickly

So bounded by their current circumstances, some people don t know their true potential. The
Help, by Kathryn Stockett, is about what it s like to work as a maid in the South during the
1960s. Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson are maids and nannies for two separate families in
Jackson, Mississippi. A woman, known as Miss Skeeter, has the idea to write an anonymous book
called Help about what it s like to live as a maidin Jackson. The book becomes a success but has
both positive and negative consequences towards the end of the story. Aibileen Clark changes from
unhappy, to anxious, and finally, insightful. A reader can conclude that it takes being forced out of

fired, she has a lot more in store for her. Due to the fact that she has more freedom, Aibileen now
has time to think about her experience as a maid and to analyze the character of the people in
her environment. A reader can tell that she is insightful because of the way she uses her words to
describe the other characters. How she says that Miss Hilly is in her own jail, but with a lifelong
term shows that she is able to decipher others character and summarize it in just a few words
proving that she is indeed insightful. To also prove that Aibileen is very insightful, Aibileen uses
advanced vocabulary to describe what the truth feels like saying, It feels cool, like water washing
over my sticky hot body. Cooling a heat that s been burning me up all my life (119). When Miss
Skeeter first requests Aibileen to testify for her book what it s like to live as a maid, Aibileen is
slightly skeptical about the whole ordeal do the fact that the decision could have negative
consequences. To reveal what it s like to live as a maid is literally revealing the truth about the
emotions that travels through a maid. Aibileen has kept the truth bottled up for as long as she could
remember that s why she compares telling the truth to water washing over my sticky hot body . To
compare these two statements takes great amounts of thinking about one s feelings. Aibileen cannot

Work is worship. Some people want to do it individually and some in group. In government
organizations lots of work is to be done. Sometimes it depends upon the kind of work how it is to
be done. This report will discuss how team work is better than individual work and how it leads to
chances of success for any organization.
FACTS/FINDINGS
This report is going to describe three facts, these are team work, individual work and government
organizations. Team work can be helpful in jobs like packing and individual work shows good
results in case of poets, teachers and writers. Government organizations are established to make life
easier of employees but the way of their working is different than NGOS.

The structure includes and Ekklesia and a boule. The Ekklesia also known as the assembly are

the actual general body meetings, we discuss the topics we ve selected beforehand and open the

Finally, freedom of speech is an important aspect within the democratic government and in NSCS
it is also important. The democratic government is for the people so it only makes sense that the
people have the freedom to express themselves. According to Plato, Freedom: Surely you d hear

For most of the population of the world, childhood is filled with countless invaluable memories.
There are ordinary events such as attending numerous friends birthday parties or hoping for as

carnival or the day they received their favorite stuffed animal. For a smaller portion of the
population, childhoodis tainted by memories of an emotionally and/or physically abusive parent. As
troubling as those memories can be, experience in dealing with such adversity might be useful as
one venture into adulthood. Adults who have experienced significant childhood stress might
display a hostile personality, meaning they distinguish a threat in situations that others view as
normal. It s suggested that the script can be overturned, or at least altered. Recent studies have

perform better than expected at gathering information and assessing people s reputations.
However, many people think in terms of whether a slow or fast life approach is acceptable or
insufficient for a growing child. One should think in terms of what is appropriate in each
environment. For instance, a child growing up in a structured

39. The United States Military Bases
For roughly 1% of the United States population, the past 10 years have been an ever changing
experience serving across the world. On September 11, 2001, the United States was attacked by a
terrorist organization residing in Afghanistan. The United States Armed forces were called upon to
fight a war against terrorism. In May 2003, this conflict extended to Iraq, which was acting as a
safe zone for many of the world s terrorists. Since that time, more than 70,000 contractors and sub
contractors have been hired by the Department of the Defense, in order to assist the United States
militaryin their mission against terrorism. These individuals known as the TCN s or third country
nationals, take part in everything from base security to cooking and laundry. However, since these
individuals are not United States citizens and the government has turned its back to them. Personal
knowledge, department of defense reports, and official law reviews contain a wide variety of
information that give a look inside what has been happening on the United States military bases.
Allegations of human trafficking, sexual assault, and indentured servitude are all common issues
these TCN s have endured.
In 2001, the Pentagon began taking in contract offers from companies around the United States.
Private contracting firms such as KBR Inc. or Prime Project International began receiving over 15
billion dollars a year. Foreign conflicts can be very profitable for large businesses that invest time

40. Essay on Conformity and Political Control
The political system in the United States of America is ruled by a two party system that is currently
fighting for control of the economy and government. In the last century the country has been
involved in several conflicts including two world wars and the cold war, which permanently
instilled fear and terror in the American psyche. After the terrorist attacks of September 11th, the
economy was brought to the edge of failure leaving a bi partisan political system with the attitude
that there is either a democratic or republican solution to the many problems Americans face as a
nation. Due to the fact that there is so much at stake, both political parties have resorted to tactics
that prey on the fact that human beings usually conform to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is a generalization of the effect, but this geo political representation can also be shown on a
smaller or larger scale. Residents of small towns usually affiliate with the same political party and
the majority residents of a larger region will usually affiliate with the same party. This is where the
idea of the conservative south or liberal north comes from. The fact that people automatically
conform to those around them has negative repercussions in more than one political arena. The idea
that people conform to political affiliations regionally affects the way the House of Representative
re draws their district lines. This happens so frequently on the state and federal level that that
practice has actually been termed gerrymandering. Unfortunately the practice of gerrymandering
practically undermines the political process in America emphasizing the importance of which party
has the majority in The House of Representatives and taking focus away from their socio
economical principles. The lawmakers of this country utilize the fact that people will automatically
conform to others around them to their advantage creating a political system that is not truly
democratic.
Politicians of both parties also take advantage of the fact that people are likely to conform due to
normative influences. Normative influences lead people to conform due to the fear or backlash of
others (Kassin, 2011, p.258).

41. The Themes Of Motherhood In Peter The Park
Motherhood feeling blooms in each woman s heart. As a little girl, motherhood is practiced
through doll as if it is her baby. As a woman grows up, she creates her dreams of being a mother,
strong bond, and attachment to this world; she naturally belongs to this hood. Motherhood then
becomes waking up in the middle of the night to make sure that her child is well tucked in and to
give her full attention, care, and love to a child. It is a harsh world, tiredness and exhaustion
sometimes. Through the endless journey, she consumes her real, metal and emotional power and
energy for the sake of her own children s comfort and happiness. Strangely, if asking any mother
about her life as a mother? She would happily say that being a mom is the most satisfying feeling
she has ever had. Most important chore in motherhood trip is to teach a child to grow up, as
nothing equals the happiness of a mother when finally, she knows that she raised a successful
human being. As we will learn in this essay, how is Peter s mother in Peter the Rabbit is different

Also, believing in your child and forgive him would make him doesn t fear the unknown. Peter s
mother forgives him because she knows he learned his lesson. First, she was right when she
warned him to stay away from the garden, second, he learned to be responsible and depend on
himself. He now knows how Mr. Rabbit cars or him and love him and she will always be there
for him no matter what happens even if he makes some mistakes. That is fundamentally
important; each child should know and feel that way; secured and loved. Love and care are
absent in the case of Charles. His mother keeps a gap between him and careless; he is mentally
paralyzed because of his mother s selfishness. Charles cannot grow up
