Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. SCHOOL PROFILE
Dominador D. Trabado Elementary School is a complete elementary school of Milagros East District in the Division of Masbate. It has a land area
of 10 000 sq.m. having a 9 instructional classrooms,1 feeding room and 1 principal’s office serves also as an ICT room. There are 10 teachers including
head.
The school is located on the south-east part of Sitio Imbudo, Barangay, Jamorawon, Milagros,
Masbate. It can be reach from the district office using motorized banca and habal-habal for about 16 kilometers or by land using motorcycle or jeepney
or less 22km.
In recent years, residents of Sitio Imbudo sending their children to study in Jamorawon Elementary School. Pupils need to walk to enter school
6km and going home after class for another 6km. Many years of struggles and sacrifices both by parents and pupils in order to acquire learnings and
understandings. That is how formal education important to the community.
In year 2003, a resident with a heart for education offered a lot for school. The children of the late Dominador D. Trabado donated the school site.
started, the peace-loving residents of Sitio Imbudo helped hand – in – hand to build the first school building made of light materials (cogon and
stared the first formal education and learnings to the first pupils offering grade one to grade four of the school which was named Dominador D.
School after the name of the donor. Having 2 teachers including the school head.
Years of sacrifices of having no formal education in the place has gone. Yet, sacrifices of walking of 12km to and from Jamorawon Elementary
changed pupils lives and directions.
In year of 2005, the school offered complete elementary grade and was named Dominador D. Trabado Elementary School having 3 permanent
headed by Mrs. Rossana V. Trabado as the school head. Years passed by and the pupils are increasing so teachers also are increasing to cope up the
pupils. From 3 teachers, then to 5, to 8 and then 10 teachers to give better education to young learners.
In year 2019, the school was headed by Mr. Antero A. Francisco up to present.
For the past years the school excel both academic and extra- curricular aspect through the strong collaboration of teachers, parents and pupils.

16. Intervention given by the teacher for learners who failed
Even without the failures in quarter 2, teachers still find time to continue
monitoring through home visitation or home tutorial. Purok by purok scheduling of
reading assessment is also administered to learner to ensure that they are given
proper assistance in whatever difficulty meet in the modules and other issues and
concern.
