THREE DAY DISTRICT-BASED TRAINING OF KEY STAGE 1
TEACHERS and SCHOOL HEADS IN EARLY LANGUAGE LITERACY
AND NUMERACY (ELLN)
OVERVIEW:
In the implementation of K to 12 Program, every teacher/ personnel are
expected to undergo an orientation/training on the K to 12 Program.
Corollary to this, Section 1 of Rule VIII, Book V in Executive Order No.
292, otherwise known as Administrative Code of 1987, contemplates that, “Every
official and employee of the government is an asset or resource to be valued,
developed and utilized in the delivery of basic services to the public.”
In order to formally respond to the clamor of teachers about how to
improve the performance of the key stage 1 learners in language, literacy and
numeracy, a three - day non-residential training and upskilling of key stage 1
teachers and school heads in language, literacy, and numeracy (ELLN) in the
district.
In lieu of the division call for school-based In-Service training (INSET), the
organizers of the INSET programs will be the district to maximize utmost
participation and collaboration of ideas of the participants and are tailored to the
needs of the teachers as well as the school system.
This will: 1) help promote the continuous improvement of the total
professional staff of the school system; 2) eliminate deficiencies in the
background preparation of teachers and other professional workers in
education; 3) keep professional abreast of the new knowledge; 4) release creative
activities; and 5) give much needed support to the teachers who are entering a
wider responsibility or a new field of work especially the new teachers and old
ones whose knowledge are already obsolete.
