ICT is,
The use of telecommunication, computer, and related devices
& technologies to access, manipulate/ process, store and
spread out data.

DATA is,
Row facts related to things, people, place or event, which are in
unprocessed form and have no/ little meaning.

Data exists in the following forms.
1. Text
•Digits ( 0 - 9)
•Letters (a-z A-Z)
•Punctuation marks (, . : ; etc)
•Control characters ( $ # @ ^ ! space etc)
2. Audio - Tones and other sounds, voice
3. Images -Dots, Lines, Circles, pictures………… etc.

Data can be
• Collected and stored.
• Retrieved from a storage medium.
• Communicated.
• Processed.

7. Classification of data
Data can be categorized into two basic forms.
1) Quantitative data – Data that can be
expressed numerically.
2) Non-quantitative data – Data cannot be
expressed numerically.

8. Quantitative data
• Data that can be measured numerically.
• Deals with numbers.
Eg:- The number of attendees at an event.
The temperature in a given location.
A person's height in inches.

9. Non-quantitative data
• Data cannot be expressed numerically.
• Also known as qualitative data.
• Deals with descriptions.
Eg:- Favourite colour.
Place of birth.
Favourite food.
