Career Objectives:
In the age of Globalization, every state is responsible for the needs of its citizens. Bangladesh has been working to
reform its policies, to meet new demands and rising expectation of its citizens. To move forward, Bangladesh needs to
prepare a new generation of Journalists and Broadcasters. Honest and competent broadcasters could upgrade the fate of
millions of people, build the country and improve Bangladeshs’ positive image. Due to invention of internet, poeple are
being faster and changing their habit especially for New Media. In order to disseminate information we were accustomed
to useing Newspaper, Radio, Television and so on. Consequently people are using e-paper, internet radio & television
instead of traditional mass media. We need to adapt the new technology to use our communication field and need to adjust
our traditional system to invented new/ social media for our sustainability.
I am proud to be a media worker in the realm of information & communication technology (ICT). I have been
working for Radio (Bangladesh Betar), Television (Bangladesh Television-BTV, Sangsod Bangladesh Television-SBTV)
& Media Training (National Institute of Mass Communication-NIMC) for the last 18 years. During my stay in the above
mentioned organizations, I attained expertise in the following major fields:
a. Teaching activities:
Performed as a faculty for Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism (PGD-BJ) of Dhaka School
of Broadcast Journalism under University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh;
Performed as a trainer of trainees (ToT) to create skilled manpower for developing National Web
Portal under access to information (a2i) programme of Prime Ministers’ Office (PMO);
Performed as a trainer of trainees (ToT) for introducing E-file Systems (paperless office) in NIMC
under access to information (a2i) programme of Prime Ministers’ Office (PMO);
Performed as a trainer of trainees (ToT) for introducing E-gp (e-tendering systems) ) in NIMC under
central procurement technical unit (CPTU) of the ministry of planning;
Performed as a resource person to conduct sessions on ICT & New media platforms in many reputed
GOs & NGOs.
b. Training activities:
Have an excellent innovative idea to make plan & design course curriculum as well as organize fruitful
courses for the trainees and also demonstrated capacity to take independent decisions.
NIMC offered Online Course for its trainees for the first time where I performed as a Course Director;
Conducted sessions on diverse social/ new & traditional media platforms and ICT related issues for
NIMC trainees;
Organized several fruitful and timeworthy ICT- based tranning courses including ‘Traditional Media
vs. New Media’, ‘Traditional Media & IP distribution’, ‘LAN, MAN, WAN & Automation’,
‘Broadcasting & 3G Technology’ `BCS (Information) cadre officials’ Induction course’ etc. as a
course director;
Performed as course director of numbers of workshop on Advocacy and Communication for Children
& Women Project under UNICEF & GOB.
2. c. Production base activities:
Produce a large number of TV & Radio programs on different aspects & formats and scout
new talents in different grounds;
Ensure that a production meets goals and exceeds citizen expectations, projecting the intended brand
image of the state and communicating the intended message to the appropriate audience;
Have a good command on various administrative aspects, including hiring and overseeing cast and
crew, writing and editing contents, maintaining a budget, creating work schedules and attending all
necessary review meetings;
Pioneer in involving with planning, designing, formulating & producing TV programmes and all other
activities for a newly established TV Channel named Songsod Bangladesh Television (SBTV);
Pioneer in involving with planning, designing & producing radio programmes and all other activities
for a newly established Bandarban Radio Station of Bangladesh Betar;
Performing as a producer for the First National Betar Debate Compitition in 2001which was organized
by the only state-owned audio medium Bangladesh Betar (Radio).
d. ICT development activities:
Pioneer in introducing ICT-based capacity building of the institute including LAN, WiFi connection,
multimedia class-room, interactive webpage and paperless courses for NIMC;
Has good command on development project proposal and procure goods & related services under
PPR-2008.
e. Research & Publication activities:
Led editorial teams to publish souvenirs, handbooks, information kits, annual reports etc.;
Written articles both in Bangla & English that published on national dailies;
Acted as online editor of the website of NIMC;
Produced a thesis on community radio as fulfillment of MPP degree and gain theoretical knowledge on
media journalism;
Involved with a research team for field data generation, processing of data & interviewing NGO
clients on Impact of Dutch Assisted NGO programmes in Bangladesh in 1996 commissioned by the
Ministry of Overseas Development Assistance of the Royal Government of the Netherlands.
f. Managerial & Team work activities:
As a good team leader, I have created a group cohesion while supervising the work of all ICT officers
& administrative staffs;
Guided the team members in planning & execution creating an environment so that all feel ownership
of goals and outcomes;
Committed to team & shared responsibility for completion of team works, demonstrating strong
interpersonal communication;
Maintained public relation & networking for effective communication with every category of people in
the society;
Led management to meet deadlines with high quality and accuracy under multilingual international
environment.
Being a media personnel it is very much essential for me to get myself acquainted with the fast changing society
of the world. Media have the ability to make millions of masses conscious of their development needs. In fact, both social
and traditional media have easy access to every people, anytime, anywhere in the globe. By using these media & effective
interpersonal communication, it will be very much helpful for me to discharge my duties. In fine, I am sure that work with
Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) will benefit me personally and my country at large.
