This document describes the Corallocarpus epigaeus plant. It is an annual or perennial herb that has 5-angled stems with coiled tendrils. The leaves are usually alternate and sloped. The flowers are dull yellow or greenish yellow and unisexual. The plant grows to 4 meters tall and produces red fruits that are 12-15 cm in size and contain 6-9 seeds. It is found in parts of India and Jaffna district in Sri Lanka. The tuber is used medicinally to treat digestive issues, skin diseases, and respiratory conditions. It also possesses anticancer and antimalarial properties.
