1. Crook – Locations
Firstly I want to quickly overview the different locations that we plan to use for ‘Crook’. One
of two, of the main locations in our trailer will be my own house. By the time filming starts
to begin I will have hopefully of moved house, therefore this is not something that is set in
stone as I may not be living there by the time of recording, if this does indeed happen, we
will have to change location for the home of Detective Foster. The second main location we
plan to use is an office like room; this is where in the trailer we will see Detective Foster
pushing all of his things of his desk in an act of frustration. In terms of other locations we
will be using the following; a large field, alley way and a garage/shed.
Detective George Foster’s House:
Below is a picture which shows Detective George Foster’s house.
There may be several scenes that are shot in Detective George Foster’s house. At this
moment in time the main scene that will be shot here will be the scene where Detective
Foster walks through the door and the camera focuses on Detective Foster’s face, he then
proceed to walk into the living room where he will discover his family who have been
murdered by The Gripwell Killer. The reason why we have decided to use this as one of our
main locations for the trailer is because we believe that Detective Foster should be shown
discovering his dead family in the trailer, to achieve this we need to have a family like home
which can relate to Detective Foster, therefore we felt that this was a necessary location for
‘Crook’.
2. Detective Foster’s Office:
The next location we want to use for our trailer is an office/board room. We plan to use a
location like this because we want to have a scene where Detective Foster throws/pushes
all of his things of his desk in an act of frustration. Me and Brandon have gone in-depth for
the planning of this scene, we have gone through and chosen all the props that we want to
use for Detective George Foster’s office. For example we plan to use a whiteboard in his
office this will have a map on it which will have pin pointed locations showing where the
different murders were and where The Gripwell Killer could possibly live. The reason for
using an office/board room is because we want to show Detective Foster in an isolated
room where he is trying to piece together the puzzle, we also felt that this fits in well with
films that usually follow a Detective/Police Officer because in some films the
Detective/Police Officer can be seen working on a case in his office.
Babbs Mill:
Below is a picture showing Babbs Mill, which will be another location we will be using for
‘Crook’.
In the trailer for ‘Crook’ we plan to have a shot that has the camera panning around
Detective Foster, who will be in a large field in the middle of nowhere. Therefore we felt
that Babbs Mills field will be a suitable location to film this, this is because Babbs Mill is an
isolated area with a lot of greenery. We want to show Detective Foster being isolated from
everyone around him, furthermore by having an isolated location it relates to the current
situation of Detective Foster. We will also be using this location for when The Gripwell Killer
takes out another victim in the trailer, this will then lead to another scene in the trailer
where Detective Foster is examining the crime scene.
3. Alley Way:
The next location for our trailer we plan to use is an alley way, we have yet to decide where
this will be; however this is something we will be deciding nearer the time. The reason for
this is because in the trailer we want to show The Gripwell Killer disposing evidence from
one of his previous murders, he then spots Detective Foster walking past the end of the
alley way, this startles The Gripwell Killer. Therefore we simply needed to have an alley in
our trailer for this particular scene to work.
Garage/Shed:
The last small, minor location we want to use for our trailer is a small space; ideally it would
either be a garage or shed. The reasoning behind this is because in our trailer we want to
show a scene where The Gripwell Killer is cleaning his Crowbar after killing Detective
Foster’s family. Therefore Me and Brandon thought it would be a good idea for The Gripwell
Killer to have a ‘hiding place’ where he stores and prepares his weapons for his next victim.
Below is an image which best shows the sort of location we want for this scene in our trailer,
this isn’t the exact location we are using, this will however give us a good idea of what we
want for this specific location.
