High School Football Importance
Over and over again we hear that children should be involved in extracurricular activities.
Children are told to get out there, see what you like, find your passion, and to be involved. While
some like to join academic clubs to further enhance their learning in a subject, others find that
athletic activities are more valuable to their lives. By children being able to play a sport, such as
football, they are able to get involved, find a passion, make long lasting friendships, and learn
valuable life lessons. The value of high schoolfootball can be seen by looking at the priceless life
lessons, the enjoyment of the sport, and the achievements made by these student athletes. When
thinking of lessons, many people s minds wander to the classroom.

How St Clare Of Assisi Changed Society And The Catholic...
Good morning Mr Campbell and class today I will be talking about how St Clare of a Assisi is a
radical reformer and how she changed society and the Catholic Church
Biography
Chiara Offreduccio born on July 16, 1194 Assisi, Italy. St Clare of Assisi being her name now due
to her being canonized in 1255, was born into a wealthy family that own a house on the top of the
hill in Assisi. Clare being the eldest sister she followed by example by the teaching of Jesus. We
believe that when Clare was little she would have be able to hear and see the mass from her room
as she not able to go to mass therefore she is called the patron saint of television. On palm Sunday
1212 St Clare of Assisi ran to Rome with St Francis Xavier to preach the word of the Lord and the
Order of Poor Ladies, a group of poor women that dedicated their life to God and wanted to be
recognised to the Catholic Church. St Clare of Assisi died August 11 1253, feast day on August 11

St Clare of Assisi is called a radical reformer, therefore her actions and the challenges that she has
faced in her life has had a impact to society and the Catholic Church. Back then society was very
sexist. For example women were not allowed to enter events or do anything without permission
from the husband, St Clare of Assisi believed that all people should be allowed in the Catholic
Church therefore she went off to Rome and created the Order of Poor Ladies. Many people
believed that women were supposed to stay and home and do household jobs and this made a
drastic turn for society and the Catholic Church. One of the hardest hurdles that she had to
overcome was changing the public perception on the role of women in society. Fortunately she
had St Francis Xavier on her side and soon enough people agreed and this lead to one of the
biggest changes in the Catholic

Annotated Bibliography On The World Wide Web
Introduction
The World Wide Web consists of a collection of electronic documents in the form of web pages.
These web pages have unique addresses called URL s that show where to locate the web page on
the World Wide Web. This essay will examine various definitions of URL s and cookies, and why a
web analyst should care about their importance.
Definitions of URL and why an analyst should care about its importance.
A URL (Universal Resource Locator) is defined, according to contests.about.com, as the other
name for a web address or the text that a web visitor types into their internet browser when visiting
a website. [1]. Contests.about.com, states further that once the web visitor provides the browser
with a URL, it can find where to go in locating the web page that wants to be visited. The web
page symbolizes the resource that the browser is trying to locate with a URL. Webopedia.com,
defines a URL as the global address of available documents and other resources on the world wide
web. [2]. Webopedia.com elaborates further that the first part of a URL is known as a protocol
identifier and it indicates what protocol to use, and the second part is the resource name and it
specifies the IP address or the domain name where the resource is located. A URL is the address
of a webpage or file on the internet. For example, the URL of amazon website is http:/

What Are The Five Major Inventions Of The Industrial...
Five greatest inventions of the industrial revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a time period that brought many great things to this world. The five
greatest are the first long lasting light bulb, the first internal combustion engine. The telephone, the
transatlantic cable. And of course the first airplane. That doesn t even scratch the surface of the
time period.
To start the first long lasting incandescent light bulb. In 1878 Thomas Edison first started to develop
the first long lasting incandescent light bulb. He was granted the patent for it in 1879. In 1880 he
had successfully completed the first long lasting incandescent light bulb. ...Edison and his team
discovered that a carbonized bamboo filament could last over 1200 hours. (bulbs.com) Edison and
his team had successfully completed the first long lasting incandescent light bulb. This invention
was so important because it paved way for most of the light sources we use today. The bulb works

The Transatlantic Cable was a telegraph cable laid under the Atlantic Ocean. Though there were
many attempts to create the cable it was officially laid in 1866. Learning from the 1865
expedition, changes were made in the cable design, to the cable paying out machine and to the
Great Eastern itself. (atlantic cable.com) This quote explains the fact that the cable was attempted
and failed just barely a year before the first successful attempt was made. The cable was an
innovating invention because it was the first way for instant communication from the united states
to europe. The cable made it easy for the united states to speak to european countries without
having to send letter by ship. Cyrus field was the leading charge in the cable. He was the driving
force behind the cable. Without him it would have been almost impossible to make the

Charles Baudelaire s Paris Spleen Or Le Spleen De Paris
Charles Baudelaire s Paris Spleen or Le Spleen de Paris, published after his death in 1869, is a
collection of prose poems that captures the essence of city life in early 19th century Paris. It has
been translated from French into a myriad of languages, including an English version translated
by Louise VarГ©se in 1970. However, it is crucial to note that any close reading of one of
Baudelaire s fifty one poems in Paris Spleen warrants a twice over examination of the text s
chosen lexicon once in the language of the reader s preferred tongue and another in Baudelaire s
French. The necessity for the twice over examination is because the work of translation, especially
in the case of Paris Spleen, cannot be simply categorized as a marketing... Show more content on

Through the means of intervention, the mediation of translation serves as a nexus between
authorial intent and imposed cultural meaning. Therefore, it then creates a suspension of meaning.
The act of translation does not in any way signify absolute meaning. Instead, translation gives two
different versions of the same text that encourages the reader to decide upon which one best suits
their reading. Baudelaire, in similar fashion, offers two different interpretations of pleasure in The
Double Room that then leads to the piece s moral suspension. The theme of suspension found in
Baudelaire s The Double Room focuses on the morality of decadent pleasure. The piece begins
with an overwhelming sensory description of a spiritual room where the nameless narrator
describes the romantic nature of indolence. In the room he goes on to mention the presence of a
sovereign queen and room s aromatic perfumes of desire and regret (5). The narrator creates an
implied higher force, the sovereign queen, that beckons to him into a life of romanticized
indolence. The narrator labels the room as spiritual because it allows him to manipulate the
external world of his room to enable and justify his behavior. The enclosed space inadvertently
becomes a haven for his indolence. However, the haven of lush idleness is challenged by the
intervention of a Spectre at the room s door.
The sudden emergence of the Spectre intervenes with the romantic

Increased global interdependence has brought about the convergence of cultures, traditions, and the
way individuals go about their daily lives. As daily life around the world seems to become more
uniform in all cultures, it becomes important to examine the aspects that most converge and pay
special attention to why they have or have not evolved to resemble each other. In regards to one of
the highest orders of educationand one of the most vastly important studies worldwide, medical
training has become more globally uniform. Our goal is to have our top doctors and researchers

The late 1900s brought about a great deal of change for China in terms of basic education. In
1978, a policy of globalization took effect, and the Peoples Republic of China began to interact
with the world much more than in its previous years. Subsequently, in 1985, the Decision on the
Reform of educational structure was mandated by the Communist Party. This placed the
responsibility of education on local governments. A year later, the Compulsory Education Law of
the People s Republic of China was passed, making basic education a legal requirement of citizens.
Throughout the 1990s, more laws were passed that further refined education, detailing the
requirements for quality socialistic educations, and promoting science and technology as vital
elements. The result of this reform was a tremendous increase in kindergartens, primary, junior and
senior secondary schools. Enrollment rates at primary and junior secondary schools were 98.58%
and 90% respectively. Employed full time teachers were nearly 5.8 million in 2002 (4). These
details show that a thoroughly educated Chinese culture is still young, and without a doubt these
developments affect the practice of the medical professional.
The variations between Chinese and American higher education have developed due to the
differences in tradition and culture. The U.S. culture is a quickly morphing, dynamic culture that

Argumentative Essay On Population Control
Population control is a policy of attempting to limit the growth in numbers of a population
(dictionary.com). Kurt Vonnegut writes about a time when the United States population is stable at
forty million people. In order for them to stay at the same amount of people they take a life for
every new life. A situation as the one illustrated in the story would bring out humaninstincts in a
negative way. That is why this form of population control is a horrible idea because as humans we
have the instinct to do all we can for those we love and to survive. In all reality, the universehas its
own natural way of controlling the population and that s all that we need. As humans our basic
human naturetells us to do all we can for those we love. It is instinct for a parent to protect their
child at all cost. It was no shock when Vonnegut states, Wehling shot Dr. Hitz... then he shot
Leora Duncan (Vonnegut). Its hard to say Mr. Wehling s response in the story is completely
normal. However, to a certain extent it is because both Leora and Hitz would be the reason his
triplets couldn t live. He didn t have anyone else that would volunteer. That of course doesn t
make what he did right but for him he was protecting his child. Another thing that plays into our
natural human instinct is often the people we love can do no wrong in our eyes. Think about if
your spouse cheats it is sometimes easy to forgive them because of all the other amazing things
that have done. Lastly, we will do whatever it takes to make those that mean the most to us
happy. That s why the grandfather in the story offered to go the Ethical Suicide Studio . He
wanted his grandson to have the life he always wanted by having children. He wouldn t just
choose to do this for his grandson unless he believed that it would make him happy. Wehling
even says, All I have to do is pick which one of the triplets is going to live, then deliver my
maternal grandfather to the Happy Hooligan, (Vonnegut). Do we really think he wanted to see
his grandfather go? No would be many people answers, he simply thinks about letting it happen
because he believes it will make his wife happy to keep all of her children. Doing all we can for
those we love includes protecting

Comparing Saramago s Death With Interruption, And Re
Saramago s quote Some people spend... speaks well to the depth of works and the recongnition of
themes within them. Stories create a broad path from beginning to end in order to engage a
reader, and sometimes even link these two ends to an extreme degree. Other stories, however, lead
the reader on a journey from the beginning to end, and they grow lost between what the focus of
the novel and what other subplots are trying to establish. Saramago, Sartre, and Marquez all show
how a flowing river of literature may seem to detract from the overarching theme of a work, but in
actuality enhance the reader s experience. In Death with Interruptions, Saramago establishes an
undercurrent of mystery, as why death has stopped. Until the end of the... Show more content on

Each individual has (and will) hurt each other, and that is what caused them to be there in the
first place. When Inez first meets Garcin, she is eager to begin her torture, so as to be tortured by
separation, she sets the scene for the end of the story (Sartre 8). Garcia realises the futility in
fighting against the hellish (a hah) environment he is in. Finally, Garcin says well, well, let s get on
with it..., thereby linking the cycle of the story (Sartre 47). Most of the middle section can be
considered just fluff and slight character development, but the majority of the action occurs when
the characters first meet upon their entry to hell and their acceptance of the fate that they have been
left with, not determining who they are in relation to each other. For the longest time, the three
have been fighting over (and sometimes for) each other, but the most momentous achievement is
when they learn to accept each other. This story teaches about acceptance, as even with a
murderer, an adulterer, and an abuser can get along, because they are condemned for eternity.
Europe has a long history of not accepting differences, from the early slave trade to more modern
examples like the Armenian Genocide. Sartre experienced a lot of this living in France during both
World Wars, and seeing just how brutal humans could treat others. Instead, Sartre tries to portray a
world filled with terrible individuals, but shows that eventually they must all have to get along with
each

Straighten a wire coat hanger, and insert the pointed end into the drain valve. Clean as much
limescale as possible with the wire, and replace damaged valves.
Connect a garden hose to the drain valve, and lay the free end of the hose in a sink or outside.
.Ensure the hose has no kinks and slants down. Allow the water to drain, which commonly takes
about forty minutes. If the water seems slow, shake the hose.
Clean the Tank
Find the anode rod, a recessed bolt, which is commonly on top of the water heater. Remove the hex
screw with an Allen wrench., and set the parts aside.
Fill the tank with three or four cups of apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has acidcontent that
breaks down limescale, which white vinegar lacks.
Let the vinegar stay in the tank for twenty four to forty eight hours, but no longer than forty eight
hours. Set a bucket under the drain valve, and keep the drain valve open, so the solution will pour
out.
Flush the tank with clean water to rid the system of vinegar and remaining lime scale. Check inside
the drain valve opening for lime scale remnants, and scrape them with wire. Rub some pipe
compound on the drain valve threads, and reinstall

Unethical Human Experimentation Should be Outlawed Essay
Unethical Human Experimentation Should be Outlawed
Human experimentation has been in practice for centuries and it was not until recently that it has
been questioned. By definition human experimentation is when a researcher deliberately induces or
alters a person s physical or mental functions. Human experimentation is preformed in ways that
might prove therapeutic to the patient, but for which there is as yet insufficient evidence to make
this reasonably certain. It can also be preformed in ways that will not be of any conceivable benefit
to the particular patient, but which may advance scientific knowledge and human welfare. Although

Prisoners who choose to be involved in medical experiments are doing so with little information

Children can also be involved in experiments with the consent of their parents. According to James
B. Nelson, professor of Christian ethics at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, and Jo
Anne Smith Rohricht, board member of the United Church of Christ Advisory Board on Health
and Human Services, Experiments entailing substantial risk to children are not justified even if the
parents give consent (75). Researchers should not be allowed to perform experiments on children
if they have the knowledge that it will most likely result in risk to the child s health or well being.
Patients on their deathbeds should not be allowed to participate in medical experiments. Nelson
and Rohricht acknowledged, To die in dignity means that one has conscious control over one s own
personal responses to the dying process. An experiment which intrudes on this personal hour can be
inhumanly exploitative (77). There is no need to include dying patients in experiments because
they may not even be able to finish the procedure. Researchers who do this are taking respect away

The Pathology and Characterisics of Clostridium tetani Essay
Clostridium tetani is a Gram positive bacteria. Gram positive bacteria retain a crystal violet stain in
their thick peptidoglycan. C. tetani are bacillus shaped organisms. Typically bacillus shaped
organisms are shaped like rods, however, C. tetani, although bacillus, tend to have a drumstick like
shape. This drumstick shaping is due to terminal spores formed by the bacteria. Spores are dormant
forms of an organism. The spores germinate and swell within the cell, imparting the bacteria s
drumstick shape.1 Clostridium tetaniare also anaerobic, meaning that they cannot survive in the
presence of oxygen. The organisms are very sensitive to heat, however, the spores that they produce

The first and most common type is generalized tetanus. The first symptom of this specific type of
tetanus is stiff jaw, and then it spreads to the muscles of the neck and back. Fever and high blood
pressure are also common symptoms involved with generalized tetanus.6 The localized type of
tetanus is rather uncommon and consists of contractions that persist in the same area. Cephalic
tetanus affects the cranial nerves and can result from a severe ear infection. The neonatal type,
which infects newborns, can occur when the umbilical cord is cut with an instrument that has not

The best way to prevent tetanus in an individual is by getting vaccinated. Currently, there are the

The Impact Of Immigration Policies On Communities And The...
The Impact of Immigration Policies on Communities and the Future of West Michigan I m 50%
Dutch, 25% German, 15% Polish and a 10% mixture of others I can t remember. Does this sound
familiar at all? These types of phrases were one of the first things to befuddle my perception of
my new found West Michigan friends when our family first moved up to Grand Rapids from a
small town in Texas in 2008. It perpetually amazed me as to how so many people had so many
different percents and a few even impressed me more so by knowing them to decimal place. Many
shared their heritage with a swelling pride, and I soon came to learn that this source of pride
actually came from West Michigan s history built upon immigrants which can be traced back all the
way to the 18th century. From the huge mass of Dutch immigrants that brought us tulips to the
Germans that brought us one of our favorite foods, hot dogs, immigration has had a significant
impact in creating our West Michigan culture and industrializing our economy (Nickmanes). With
immigration policies today, people from a diverse pool of nationalities such as Hispanic, Asian,
Arabic, European and many others continue come to West Michigan and call it home. These
immigrants today help develop our community and our economy, in ways that are sometimes
overlooked, and leave an overall positive impact just like the many immigrants embedded in many
of our genes ( New Americans in Michigan. ). Immigrants have unfortunately carried

Essay about Hellfire and Damnation
Hellfire and Damnation Looking back on my childhood, I have many memories shrouded in fear
and self loathing. I was raised in the Baptist church. My mother and grandmother made sure that I
attended church every Sunday morning. My grandmother was from the mid west. She carried her
strict Bible belt background with her as she traveled west with my grandfather. The many lessons I
learned from my grandmother and the minister at our church played a big part in how I began to
see the world and my place in it.
It would seem, looking back now, that the whole basis for my teachings during those early years
was fear. I had the most intense fear of going to Hell. The only thing one had to know about Hell

My interpretation of this particular sermon was that I was a horrible person not worthy of love. I
was a sinner and I was going to Hell. I would cry myself to sleep at night because I was so sure that
I would be one of those lost souls for all of eternity. The minister talked of redemption. All I had to
do to be saved and get into heaven was confess my sins and ask for forgiveness.
I was sure, however, that I had far too many sins to be forgiven; besides, I wasn t really sorry for
most of my sins. I could not feel bad about questioning my parents and the church s authority.
Most of the time it seemed that they contradicted themselves or just didn t make any sense at all.
I had a very hard time digesting the teachings of the church that included both a God who would

the teachings I received and with so many people being in agreement, I just figured they must be

Prince Hamlet Versus Machiavelli s Prince Essay
Prince Hamlet Versus Machiavelli s Prince
The Prince is a celebrated and highly controversial piece of work by the Italian aristocrat Niccolo
Machiavelli. His work is a summation of all the qualities a prince must have in order to remain in
his position. Machiavelli supports the idea that a prince use his power for the ultimate benefit of all,
but he also does not condemn the use of any unpleasant means in order for the prince to maintain
his power. His ideas both compare and contrast to the methods used by Prince Hamlet of Denmark
in Shakespeare s Hamlet. Hamlet, as we know, struggles mightily to maintain his position as the
prince, and one must wonder if this is due to some of the highly essential qualities outlined by ...

In the beginning, Hamlet struggles to remain good at all times, but this only causes him extreme
anguish. Hamlet must soon come to disregard his sense of morality in order to save himself, which
is essentially exactly what Machiavelli professed one must do. He shows little remorse in killing
Polonius, and he turns against his old friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Still, one has to
believe that Hamlet is not without a conscience, because his desire for revenge is fulfilled only at
the very end as he himself dies.
Another point made within Machiavelli s writings is that a prince must strive to avoid hatred, yet
at the same time, be feared by all those around him. Hamlet most certainly achieved the first goal,
for I believe he was highly regarded by all his subjects, but he rarely acted in a way to inspire fear
in those around him. Indeed, Polonius, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstem had no trouble plotting
against him, because they had no fear that he would turn against them in a violent or malicious
manner. On the other hand, I believe Hamlet was a threat to them once he began acting so insanely,
because his actions were much more unpredictable. A key point is that men are fickle and
constantly changing, as demonstrated by Hamlet himself, so one must be prepared for any turn of
events.
Machiavelli goes on to stress that while it can be beneficial to appear a good and honorable man, a
prince must always be prepared to resort to

Multiple Sclerosis Multiple sclerosis one a nervous system disease that affects the brain, spinal
cord, and the optic nerves in the eyes. It causes problems with vision, balance, muscle control, and
other basic body functions. The effects are often varying from person to person ( Multiple Sclerosis
, n.d). MS happens when the immune system attacks a fatty material named myelin, that protects
the nerves. Without the protection of this outer shell, the nerves become damage. Scientists and
doctors studied for centuries what multiple sclerosisis and they were unable to define it for long
period time MS has been conceived from the 14th century through the early 20th century (Butler,
2003). During those periods, the physicians and scientists faced hardship to distinguish between
MS and other cognitive diseases. During the 21 century, because of technological advancement and
researches, MS studied well and consequently treatment options reflected in a new belief system
(Butler, 2003).

Similarities Between The Bolder And The Allegory Of The Cave
People think that their notion of reality is real, but that is not necessarily true. Great
philosophers such as Plato came up with the Allegory of the Cave to show how our views of
reality are not necessarily real. The Eye of the Beholder also showed how people view reality
differently, hence it is not true. As a kid I had limitations to my knowledge, and I had to look
beyond what I knew to learn the truth. As people we must continue to look past what we know for
reality. Nonetheless people continue to believe only what they can see and what they know, if
they were presented with the truth they would ignore it. Because of our perspectives and
knowledge both the Allegory of the Cave and the Eye of the Bolder portray how our reality is...

The Allegory of the Cave and the Eye of the Beholder portray how what we think or know is not
necessarily true. We could all be seeing an illusion of what is real. That is why not all people see
the truth. Some refuse to look past what they know and only believe what they see or what they
think. It is difficult to convince someone of the truth. In the Allegory of the Cave the prisoners
ignored the truth, because they only knew what they had seen, but since the freed man saw
things differently he was seen as crazy. In the Eye of the Beholder people will see only what
they want to see and due to the perspective that they were seeing something through, they will
believe it and refuse to believe something differently. The Eye of the Beholder gives a more
useful explanation of how people are blind to reality, because everyone has a different
perspective on things. Everyday people see things differently, and we know we do, because we
all have different opinions. People however, rely on these opinions for reality. Others think that
what they see or how they see something is true, because they saw it and they believe only what
they think. Yet, when you look at the actual truth, none of the opinions that the people had were
real. With the Eye of the Beholder it is simpler to understand how our perspective and knowledge
is not real. It is clearer to see how we must look past what we think we know, and past our illusions

Paulie Malignaggi Research Paper
Former IBF light welterweight and WBA welterweight titlist Paulie Malignaggi (33 7, 7 KOs) is
reportedly hanging up his gloves after a devastating ninth round technical knockout loss to up and
coming fighter Danny Garcia (31 0, 18 KOs), as per Boxing News 24.
The Brooklyn native announced his intention to retire after a 14 year fighting career during the
post fight interview on Saturday at the Barclays Center in New York. He also expressed his desire
to continue a career either as a boxing commentator or analyst during live broadcasts.
I m probably not fighting again, Malignaggi said, as reported by ESPN. You hate to make an
emotional decision. My career started in Brooklyn 14 years ago. If it ends in Brooklyn tonight,
then at least I ended it at home, where I m from, and in front of the greatest fans in the world. I ve

Introduction There are a variety of strategic planning models, including goals based, issues based,

the organization s mission (and vision and/or values), goals to work toward the mission, strategies
to achieve the goals, and action planning. * Issues based strategic planning often starts by
examining issues facing the organization, strategies to address those issues, and action plans. *
Organic strategic planning begins with the organization s vision and values and then action plans to

that Your Company is Willing to Live, Harvard Management Update, March 2002.) Typically, for a
NPO what is also important is that who writes the mission statement. Considering only senior
management or executives could be one answer, but I believe that since a NPO does most of its
operational work largely through volunteers and less through employees, it becomes important to
have representation of this constituency as well. The closer the mission statement is to what these
volunteers considers is important for their end customers, the more likely is the high quality of the
output and easier to continue recruiting volunteers. However, since many of the large NPO that
we know and will discuss in this paper have been existing for decades, it also makes sense to
evaluate mission statements in the context of emerging needs of the customers every 20 30 years.
This doesn t imply major shifts in the mission statement, but indicates adding newer dimensions

British Sculptor Phyllida Barlow
untitled: dock, the latest work from British sculptor Phyllida Barlow, is also colossal and
monumental in scale. The sculpture was commissioned by Tate Britain for its Duveen Gallery.
The annual commission, sponsored by Sotheby s, invites artists to make work in response to
Tate s collection of British art bridging the gap between its historic and contemporary works. The
commission is displayed every year from March to October. Tate Britain, part of England s five
gallery network of Tate spaces, has been on a mission to redefine itself since the creation of Tate
Modernin 2000. At that time the majority of Tate Britain s post 1900 collection of artworks were
rehoused into Tate Modern. Tate Britain has gone through two major refurbishments since and
relies heavily on events, like this commission, to maintain its resonance with modern audiences.
Therefore, untitled: dock is monumentally important to the museum s calendar. The Duveen Gallery
opened in 1937 as a dedicated sculpturespace at the heart of Tate s riverside property. The gallery
is a vaulted, 100 meter long, tubular space lined with marble. untitled: dock fills the Duveen space

Aeneas is the king of the Trojans, who is also the son of Anchises and Venus. His fate is that he

particular. Juno is the queen of the gods and held in high respects in the city of Carthage. As Juno
holds a desire to establish Carthage as the reigning city, [she] pits herself against fate itself, which
ordained that the descendants of the Trojans will conquer Carthage and rule the world (Syed, 108).

love for Aeneas is his country and for its growth and success. Aeneas lands on the shores of
Carthage and this is where his focus of love is shaken and tested. While searching in the woods,
Aeneas meets a young girl, who is disguised and actually his mother Venus. She tells Aeneas the
background story of the ruler of Carthage and how everything came to be. She also reassures
Aeneas that his missing ships, along with his other comrades, are safe and to continue the path
into the city. Once Aeneas enters the city and observes the progress of the developing city, he is
ecstatic. This encounter shows how his love for country is very focused. Instead of focusing on
the individuals that may have been roaming around the city as an object of love, he views the
whole city, which was still in progress, as an object of love. Aeneas goes and explores the queen

Comparing Huckleberry Finn And Long Walk To Freedom
Beyond a shadow of doubt, there are many lessons that I accomplished in both these books.
Their story lines are amazing and they left me with powerful messages that are can be useful in
my everyday life. Which is that freedom is for all because we are all humans, created equally,
thus deserves to be treated as such. Moreover, though these books were written in different
settings, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn which was written when slavery was still legal and
Long Walk to Freedom, which was written secretly in prison, they remind us of identical memos
about challenges and how wrong it can be. Also, that it can lead to fatalities and terrible endings.
As well as, nobody was born racism, kids are taught it, therefore, racism is cruel. Lastly, listening

plunging in the fountain suggests that Cecilia views herself as one of the Furies or Erinyes, the
merciless Goddesses of vengeance in Greek and Roman mythology. She thinks that if the

reader of Cecilia s over dramatisation. Cecilia s thought about how she cannot smoke in her
father s presence and how she disobeys this rule makes the reader think that she believes that
since she went to University and spent three years amongst the most sophistacated, she is now
indipendent. The lector witnesses Cecilia s preparations in the dressing for dinner. She is

Yet the aggregate growth data tells us that the acceleration of economic growth began earlier, in the

Analysis Of New Orleans After The Deluge
The Juxtaposition Graphic novels have the ability to portray multiple perspectives and can cleverly
represent as many groups an author believes is needed. What becomes the decision of the author is
which perspective deems more important or more fascinating. Depending on which the author
decides to portray, there tends to be different effects on the readers. Neufeld uses Scott s Mccloud s
ideas from Understanding Comics, such as adding detail to a character to differentiate them from
the reader in order to induce certain emotions. The perspectivetaken from the primary source may
receive more empathy or distaste depending on who the author chooses to represent. Through
detailing certain character, this focus is made clear to be on the victims. However, graphic novels
are sometimes subject to biases and misinterpretations, which can belittle the authenticity of the
accounts being given. Different accounts of the events hold different biases. They could either
represent those who have undergone the specific event or that of someone who has speculated from
the outside. In A.D. New Orleans after the Deluge, Josh Neufeld represents a perspective not
commonly exemplified, as he assigns different perspectives to his character and juxtaposes them
using the dialogue from their interactions. A different view of the story is told, and reasons to the
questionable, or unethical actions of the victims are brought into focus and analyzed through a
perspective that sides with the victims.

Desicions Without Grandpa
As another Team Meeting broke up, Steven plodded back to his desk where his projections for the
quarter ahead were waiting to be completed. He gazed out the hermetically sealed windows which
overlooked the sprawling city, his eyes searching for green spaces.
He sighed. He had thought transferring to the City from the village would be more exciting and

and emphasis on figures and targets. He was also missing his friends and family as he tried to settle
into a new life. City people rushed everywhere and appeared busy and always having somewhere to

He could never imagine walking along any street in his home village and not speaking to a
single person. Older folks knew him either as John and Nettie s son or Peter s grandson. Others
knew him from school or shared activities. Almost everyone who passed by his Grandpa s
workshop, popped their head in the ever open door to call out a greeting.
He pictured his Grandpa s workshop in the ivy clad stone building attached to the family home. He

Climate change will have a great impact on the future of the world, let alone deltas. California
natural inconsistency looks like it is going to increase, bringing fourth constant droughts and

increasing temperatures of the water throughout the area may make taking care of aquatic habitats
for native fish species much more difficult. After some time, all of these challenges are expected to

https://t.co/CTXBPGHQiB
Every team wants to be bowl eligible, but with so many bowl games played each postseason,
simply playing in any bowl game is not as significant as it used to be. However, it is still a pretty
big deal to get to play on Jan. 1.
Out of all the Power Five conferences, the SEC is not sending the most teams to a bowl game.
However, the ACC, the Big 12 and the Big Ten each have no more than one team playing on New
Year s Day. The Pac 12 has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley has 16 touchdowns and over 2,500 yards, but he also has
11 interceptions this season. Michigan s defense is good enough at stopping their opponents from
scoring. The Gamecocks cannot get away with too many turnovers if they want to win this game.
Peach Bowl
The No. 7 Auburn Tigers (10 3, 7 2 SEC) will face the No. 12 UCF Knights (12 0, 9 0 AAC) in the
Peach Bowl in front of a sold out crowd in Atlanta, Ga.
https://twitter.com/cfapeachbowl/status/943904897724018688
UCF running back Adrian Killens has already provided the Tigers with enough bulletin board
material.
https://twitter.com/pff_college/status/941759919572779010
Killens will likely end up regretting this comment. The SEC has more than enough speed, and
Auburn s Kerryon Johnson is one of the best in the conference.
Johnson has 17 touchdowns and over 1,000 yards this season. He suffered a shoulder injury in the
final game of the regular season against Alabama and was limited in the SEC Championship game.
But he is expected to be available for the Peach Bowl.
Auburn defense will also give them an advantage. The Tigers allow an average of 17.3 points per
game. They are No. 10 in the FBS for opponent points per game.
However, the undefeated Knights will have something to prove in this game. Many analysts and
reporters argued that UCF deserved a better ranking in the final College Football Playoff

Mythology In Mythology
Judging from the sources on the internet (unfortunately, one of them does include wikipedia) and
the snippets I watched of the PBS documentary series that the book The Power of Myth is a
companion for, one of Joseph s Campbell s most foundational ideas is that mythology is one of
the primary sources of a given generation s cultural values, and it is a mechanism used to teach
lessons or values to those young or new to a society. This thesis on mythology can be adapted to
modern movies on Jesusbecause these movies contain unique alterations and spins on the
religious stories on Jesus. In Godspell, the movie s use of a New York setting and a young,
diverse cast translate the ministry of Jesus to the capitalism and peace struggle of the 1970s, and
in Jesus Christ Superstar, the movie s young cast and secular themed songs translate the existence
of Jesus to a generation becoming more and more scientific. As a result, Godspell remythologizes
the ministry of Jesus to reflect and teach peace and deviation from the status quo, and Jesus Christ
Superstar remythologizes Jesus as a figure to reflect a tension in understanding Jesus in a modern
technological age. Because two different aspects of the 1970s culture is embodied in these modern
Jesus myths, movies are a media used to remythologize Jesus to fit in with each coming generation
s struggles, beliefs, and culture. The aspect of the 1970s that Godspell reflects is the conflict
between peace and the status quo. During the 1970s,

South Africa Development Goals For 2015
According to the Country Report in 2013, South Africa has come along way in terms of
achieving the Millennium Development Goals for 2015. When looking at goal one, which has
to do with eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, they have almost completed all of the
targets. As of 2013, South Africa has achieved the proportion of population below $1.00 per day
and the proportion of population below $1.25 per day. They are likely to achieve the proportion
of population below $2.00 per day. They have achieved the poverty gap ratio of $1.00, $1.25,
and $2.00 per day. They are likely to achieve the poverty gap ratio of $2.50 per day. They are
likely to achieve the percentage of employed people living below $1.00 per day. Although they
have achieved and are likely to achieve many of these targets for goal one which has to do with
poverty, they are unlikely to reach the share of the poorest quintile in national consumption, the
percentage growth rate of GDP per person employed, employment to population ratio, and the
percentage of own account and contributing family workers in total employment. In terms of
hunger they are likely to achieve the percent of prevalence of underweight children less than five
years of age. They have also achieved the percentage of people who report experiencing hunger.
Goal two is just as accomplished as goal one. Goal two, according to the Country Report in 2013
for South Africa, which is trying to ensure that boys and girls are going to

Differences Between Patients And Control Group
A total of 100 subjects were included in this study, including 50 patients diagnosed as B CLL,
and 50 healthy subjects matched in age and sex as a control group. They were 75% male and
25% female for CLL group, and 70% male and 30% female for control group. The mean of age (in
years) for B CLL patients and healthy subjects was 63.65В±9.23and 62.21В±6.12, respectively.
There were no statistically significant differences between patients and control group as regarding
age and sex(P 0.05) . According to the modified RAI staging system, the B CLL patients in the
present study were categorized into three risk groups the first group included 15 out of 50 (30%)
patients with low risk, the second group included 15 (30%) patients with intermediate... Show more

The optimal CD 150 cut off within the CLL population for overall survival was defined at 6%
(13) Within this study there was 42 patients (84%) showing CD 150 expression ≥ 6% and 8
patients(16%) with CD 150 expression 6% . Patients with CD150 expression ≥ 6% had
significantly longer OS (16 vs. 20 months) and significantly longer DFS (6 vs. 16.5 months) at
18 months compared to those with CD150 expression 6 %(P 0.001) (Figs 1 4). These results
suggest that CD 150 expression is greatly decreased in a subset of CLL patients characterized by
an aggressive disease with a shorter DFS and a lower OS. Table 1 :Clinical and laboratory data of

Elisabeth Condon’s Nocturne vs. Vincent van Gogh’s The...
Similarity in theme and color first drew me to select Elisabeth Condon s Nocturne (Bob
Rauschenberg Gallery) and Vincent van Gogh s The Starry Night (Frank 348) for this research
paper. Initially I wanted to pick two pieces that were different enough in order to form a decent
comparison and yet alike enough to connect them in some way. In the art gallery, Nocturne gave
me a feeling similar to the one I experienced when I first saw The Starry Night; there was
something otherworldly and mystical about it. It made you look at a greater expanse then the bit
of landscape that was shown in an unexpected way. Though each work was made in over a hundred
year gap from the other, both works use a brilliant use of color and a view of the sky... Show more

The artist of Nocturne, Elisabeth Condon, was heavily influenced by the places she has visited. Her
own craft of improvisational paint pouring combined with the influence of Eastern art, specifically
Chinese scrolls, helps to create the unique presence that each painting holds. Her paintings, collages
and drawings use improvisational pours of paint, sketchbook drawings and digital projections to
establish idiosyncratic compositions. Heeding the Tang Dynasty dictum of landscape as a fusion of
observation and memory, they interweave external and internal perceptions of particular locations
(ABOUT: Biography). The Starry Night is an oil painting that depicts a small, nestled town under
an almost magical sky. This piece, much like Elisabeth s Nocturne, possesses a dominance of cool
hues. While both paintings depict a night sky, Vincent van Goghs The Starry Night actually leads
the observer s eyes through the painting due to it s brush strokes and fluidity. Although the work is
very fluid and almost kinetic, it is not overwhelming or busy. Its rhythm is purposeful, not noisy. In
fact, the painting almost gives off a calming, spiritual feeling to the viewer. The sky over the
nestled town is a swirl of blue, yellow, and orange tints and shades that demonstrates an almost
ethereal influence as if something greater is meant to be shown than what is simply before the
observer. Radial

Compare And Contrast The Schoolboy And The Scholar Gipsy
William Blake s The Schoolboy of the Romantic age and Matthew Arnold s The Scholar Gipsy of
the Victorian Age portrays different picture for education and the way of learning. However, both
poems oppose the strict learning system of the societies. Blake s The Schoolboy gives the picture
of strict educationdeteriorating the very foundation of the man while Arnold s The Scholar Gipsy
gives the picture of new modern education deteriorating the faith and traditional value in the man.
It seem that character from these two poem seek for freedom to learn. However, Blake s The
Schoolboy seeks to learn new thing through his observation while Arnold s The Scholar Gipsy
seeks to learn occults, dejecting the new and creative knowledge.
William Blake s The Schoolboy gives the picture of the young boy who wants to break free from
his closed cage of learning into the wild and free learning of the world. On the other hand,

However, the two poets being from different era had different point of view to it. Blake who was
largely self educated and did not have to attend the classroom was against the regimented
learning as he thought that the education system of his times destroys the very precious
innocence of the youth. Arnold being in the age of Victorian with many science theories seem
troubled what to accept. So the poem of these two writers seems like a biography, giving a brief
account of personal life. Instead of looking from the other perspective, Blake and Arnold seem to
give their own account on how they feel about the education system. The characters in both the
poem seem to seek for freedom and to escape from the place where they belong. Actually it seemed
like it was the poet who are using the poem as escapism to the world of

Research Paper On The Storming Of The Bastille
What was the Storming of the Bastille?
The Bastille was a medieval fortress located in the east of Paris. It was built in the 14th century to
guard the entrance to Paris. It had eight towers linked with walls, all 100 feet high. A moat that was
more than eighty feet wide surrounded the fortress. During the 17th and 18th century, the Bastille
was used as a prison for those who were thought to doubt the government and its power. The
Storming of Bastille took place on July 14, 1789. A large mob of Parisians, mainly consisting of
craftsmen and salesmen, marched to the tower in search of weapons and prisoners. The crowd,
however, did not impress the few guards on duty at that time. Some representatives of the mob
were allowed to be let into the prison; the plan was to diminish some of their anger and waste time
while the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, when the rescue team arrived, they joined the mob instead of defending the fortress
from it. The guards soon gave up, letting the mob into the castle. The people of the mob killed the
guards, allowing them to free the prisoners and steal the weapons held in the Bastille. There were
not many prisoners being held during the Storming of Bastille; only seven were freed. On the night
of the storming, 800 men began to destroy the castle. This was the first violent act of the French
Revolution that would key many more acts of violence during this time. The Storming of Bastille
signaled the beginning of the French Revolution, as well as the downfall of King Louis the
sixteenth and Marie Antoinette . Two days after the storming, the National Assembly ordered the
remains of the building to be burned. The people cheered as the prison walls crumbled. In France,
July 14th is now known as a national holiday. Bastille Day honors this crucial event in French
history, the holiday commemorates an

The Road- Brave New World Compare and Contrast Essay
Differentiating Societies It is remarkable how differentiated works of literature can be so similar
and yet so different, just by the way the authors choose to use select certain literary devices. Two
different novels, Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, and The Road, by Cormac McCarthy,
display these characteristics because of the ways the authors institute such mechanisms. Brave New
Worlddescribes a futuristic era where humans are genetically manufactured for a certain job
predestined to them before they are artificially created, and where common human emotions,
desires, wants, and needs have all been modified to support a deemed utopian society where
everyone lives and works together in harmony. The Road describes a post apocalyptic... Show more

In conclusion, Huxley generally uses his collected, connected syntax and structure throughout the
book to display a calmer, informative perspective on the events happening as the story progresses as
well as implementing certain stylistic elements to make certain parts of the novel stand out. The
characterization used by Huxley in Brave New World is one of significance and effectiveness
for the point he is trying to convey. Huxley uses accurate, developed characterization and goes
into great detail about the characters because this characterization ties into the plot. Since the
theme of the novel reflects on how technology can change our world for the worse, by using
accurate descriptions of the characters, their thoughts, and their actions, Huxley is able to more
accurately show the audience how changes in a new society can contrast to the standards we
have set for our society today. In addition, Huxley makes a special point to emphasize how
material goods such as clothing can define a character in this society. Huxley purposefully
establishes these simple social distinctions in characterization in order to emphasize the effect of
the theme. Found in his novel, the following passage reads, What a hideous color khaki is
(Huxley 62). This remark is made by an upper class woman who is characterized as better because
of the programmed idea that wearing khaki is a sign

  • 3. How St Clare Of Assisi Changed Society And The Catholic... Good morning Mr Campbell and class today I will be talking about how St Clare of a Assisi is a radical reformer and how she changed society and the Catholic Church Biography Chiara Offreduccio born on July 16, 1194 Assisi, Italy. St Clare of Assisi being her name now due to her being canonized in 1255, was born into a wealthy family that own a house on the top of the hill in Assisi. Clare being the eldest sister she followed by example by the teaching of Jesus. It has been translated from French into a myriad of languages, including an English version translated by Louise VarГ©se in 1970. However, it is crucial to note that any close reading of one of Baudelaire s fifty one poems in Paris Spleen warrants a twice over examination of the text s chosen lexicon once in the language of the reader s preferred tongue and another in Baudelaire s French. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the means of intervention, the mediation of translation serves as a nexus between authorial intent and imposed cultural meaning. Therefore, it then creates a suspension of meaning. The act of translation does not in any way signify absolute meaning. Instead, translation gives two different versions of the same text that encourages the reader to decide upon which one best suits their reading. Baudelaire, in similar fashion, offers two different interpretations of pleasure in The Double Room that then leads to the piece s moral suspension. The theme of suspension found in Baudelaire s The Double Room focuses on the morality of decadent pleasure. The piece begins with an overwhelming sensory description of a spiritual room where the nameless narrator describes the romantic nature of indolence. In the room he goes on to mention the presence of a sovereign queen and room s aromatic perfumes of desire and regret (5). The narrator creates an implied higher force, the sovereign queen, that beckons to him into a life of romanticized indolence. The narrator labels the room as spiritual because it allows him to manipulate the external world of his room to enable and justify his behavior. The enclosed space inadvertently becomes a haven for his indolence. However, the haven of lush idleness is challenged by the intervention of a Spectre at the room s door. • 9. Argumentative Essay On Population Control Population control is a policy of attempting to limit the growth in numbers of a population (dictionary.com). Kurt Vonnegut writes about a time when the United States population is stable at forty million people. In order for them to stay at the same amount of people they take a life for every new life. A situation as the one illustrated in the story would bring out humaninstincts in a negative way. That is why this form of population control is a horrible idea because as humans we have the instinct to do all we can for those we love and to survive. In all reality, the universehas its own natural way of controlling the population and that s all that we need. As humans our basic human naturetells us to do all we can for those we love. It is instinct for a parent to protect their child at all cost. It was no shock when Vonnegut states, Wehling shot Dr. Hitz... then he shot Leora Duncan (Vonnegut). Its hard to say Mr. Wehling s response in the story is completely normal. However, to a certain extent it is because both Leora and Hitz would be the reason his triplets couldn t live. He didn t have anyone else that would volunteer. That of course doesn t make what he did right but for him he was protecting his child. Another thing that plays into our natural human instinct is often the people we love can do no wrong in our eyes. Think about if your spouse cheats it is sometimes easy to forgive them because of all the other amazing things that have done. Lastly, we will do whatever it takes to make those that mean the most to us happy. That s why the grandfather in the story offered to go the Ethical Suicide Studio . He wanted his grandson to have the life he always wanted by having children. He wouldn t just choose to do this for his grandson unless he believed that it would make him happy. Wehling even says, All I have to do is pick which one of the triplets is going to live, then deliver my maternal grandfather to the Happy Hooligan, (Vonnegut). No would be many people answers, he simply thinks about letting it happen because he believes it will make his wife happy to keep all of her children. Hamlet must soon come to disregard his sense of morality in order to save himself, which is essentially exactly what Machiavelli professed one must do. Still, one has to believe that Hamlet is not without a conscience, because his desire for revenge is fulfilled only at the very end as he himself dies. Another point made within Machiavelli s writings is that a prince must strive to avoid hatred, yet at the same time, be feared by all those around him. Hamlet most certainly achieved the first goal, for I believe he was highly regarded by all his subjects, but he rarely acted in a way to inspire fear in those around him. Indeed, Polonius, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstem had no trouble plotting against him, because they had no fear that he would turn against them in a violent or malicious manner. On the other hand, I believe Hamlet was a threat to them once he began acting so insanely, because his actions were much more unpredictable. A key point is that men are fickle and constantly changing, as demonstrated by Hamlet himself, so one must be prepared for any turn of events. Typically, for a NPO what is also important is that who writes the mission statement. Considering only senior management or executives could be one answer, but I believe that since a NPO does most of its operational work largely through volunteers and less through employees, it becomes important to have representation of this constituency as well. The closer the mission statement is to what these volunteers considers is important for their end customers, the more likely is the high quality of the output and easier to continue recruiting volunteers. However, since many of the large NPO that we know and will discuss in this paper have been existing for decades, it also makes sense to evaluate mission statements in the context of emerging needs of the customers every 20 30 years. • 32. Analysis Of New Orleans After The Deluge The Juxtaposition Graphic novels have the ability to portray multiple perspectives and can cleverly represent as many groups an author believes is needed. What becomes the decision of the author is which perspective deems more important or more fascinating. Depending on which the author decides to portray, there tends to be different effects on the readers. Neufeld uses Scott s Mccloud s ideas from Understanding Comics, such as adding detail to a character to differentiate them from the reader in order to induce certain emotions. The perspectivetaken from the primary source may receive more empathy or distaste depending on who the author chooses to represent. Through detailing certain character, this focus is made clear to be on the victims. However, graphic novels are sometimes subject to biases and misinterpretations, which can belittle the authenticity of the accounts being given. Different accounts of the events hold different biases. They could either represent those who have undergone the specific event or that of someone who has speculated from the outside. In A.D. New Orleans after the Deluge, Josh Neufeld represents a perspective not commonly exemplified, as he assigns different perspectives to his character and juxtaposes them using the dialogue from their interactions. A different view of the story is told, and reasons to the questionable, or unethical actions of the victims are brought into focus and analyzed through a perspective that sides with the victims. ... Mythology In Mythology Judging from the sources on the internet (unfortunately, one of them does include wikipedia) and the snippets I watched of the PBS documentary series that the book The Power of Myth is a companion for, one of Joseph s Campbell s most foundational ideas is that mythology is one of the primary sources of a given generation s cultural values, and it is a mechanism used to teach lessons or values to those young or new to a society. This thesis on mythology can be adapted to modern movies on Jesusbecause these movies contain unique alterations and spins on the religious stories on Jesus. In Godspell, the movie s use of a New York setting and a young, diverse cast translate the ministry of Jesus to the capitalism and peace struggle of the 1970s, and in Jesus Christ Superstar, the movie s young cast and secular themed songs translate the existence of Jesus to a generation becoming more and more scientific. As a result, Godspell remythologizes the ministry of Jesus to reflect and teach peace and deviation from the status quo, and Jesus Christ Superstar remythologizes Jesus as a figure to reflect a tension in understanding Jesus in a modern technological age. Because two different aspects of the 1970s culture is embodied in these modern Jesus myths, movies are a media used to remythologize Jesus to fit in with each coming generation s struggles, beliefs, and culture. They have also achieved the percentage of people who report experiencing hunger. Goal two is just as accomplished as goal one. The optimal CD 150 cut off within the CLL population for overall survival was defined at 6% (13) Within this study there was 42 patients (84%) showing CD 150 expression ≥ 6% and 8 patients(16%) with CD 150 expression 6% . Patients with CD150 expression ≥ 6% had significantly longer OS (16 vs. 20 months) and significantly longer DFS (6 vs. 16.5 months) at 18 months compared to those with CD150 expression 6 %(P 0.001) (Figs 1 4). These results suggest that CD 150 expression is greatly decreased in a subset of CLL patients characterized by an aggressive disease with a shorter DFS and a lower OS. • 45. Elisabeth Condon’s Nocturne vs. Vincent van Gogh’s The... Similarity in theme and color first drew me to select Elisabeth Condon s Nocturne (Bob Rauschenberg Gallery) and Vincent van Gogh s The Starry Night (Frank 348) for this research paper. Initially I wanted to pick two pieces that were different enough in order to form a decent comparison and yet alike enough to connect them in some way. In the art gallery, Nocturne gave me a feeling similar to the one I experienced when I first saw The Starry Night; there was something otherworldly and mystical about it. It made you look at a greater expanse then the bit of landscape that was shown in an unexpected way. Though each work was made in over a hundred year gap from the other, both works use a brilliant use of color and a view of the sky... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The artist of Nocturne, Elisabeth Condon, was heavily influenced by the places she has visited. Her own craft of improvisational paint pouring combined with the influence of Eastern art, specifically Chinese scrolls, helps to create the unique presence that each painting holds. Her paintings, collages and drawings use improvisational pours of paint, sketchbook drawings and digital projections to establish idiosyncratic compositions. Heeding the Tang Dynasty dictum of landscape as a fusion of observation and memory, they interweave external and internal perceptions of particular locations (ABOUT: Biography). The Starry Night is an oil painting that depicts a small, nestled town under an almost magical sky. This piece, much like Elisabeth s Nocturne, possesses a dominance of cool hues. While both paintings depict a night sky, Vincent van Goghs The Starry Night actually leads the observer s eyes through the painting due to it s brush strokes and fluidity. Although the work is very fluid and almost kinetic, it is not overwhelming or busy. Its rhythm is purposeful, not noisy. In fact, the painting almost gives off a calming, spiritual feeling to the viewer. The sky over the nestled town is a swirl of blue, yellow, and orange tints and shades that demonstrates an almost ethereal influence as if something greater is meant to be shown than what is simply before the observer. Blake who was largely self educated and did not have to attend the classroom was against the regimented learning as he thought that the education system of his times destroys the very precious innocence of the youth. Arnold being in the age of Victorian with many science theories seem troubled what to accept. So the poem of these two writers seems like a biography, giving a brief account of personal life. Instead of looking from the other perspective, Blake and Arnold seem to give their own account on how they feel about the education system. • 48. Research Paper On The Storming Of The Bastille What was the Storming of the Bastille? The Bastille was a medieval fortress located in the east of Paris. It was built in the 14th century to guard the entrance to Paris. It had eight towers linked with walls, all 100 feet high. A moat that was more than eighty feet wide surrounded the fortress. During the 17th and 18th century, the Bastille was used as a prison for those who were thought to doubt the government and its power. The Storming of Bastille took place on July 14, 1789. A large mob of Parisians, mainly consisting of craftsmen and salesmen, marched to the tower in search of weapons and prisoners. The crowd, however, did not impress the few guards on duty at that time. Some representatives of the mob were allowed to be let into the prison; the plan was to diminish some of their anger and waste time while the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 49. The Road- Brave New World Compare and Contrast Essay Differentiating Societies It is remarkable how differentiated works of literature can be so similar and yet so different, just by the way the authors choose to use select certain literary devices. Two different novels, Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, and The Road, by Cormac McCarthy, display these characteristics because of the ways the authors institute such mechanisms. Brave New Worlddescribes a futuristic era where humans are genetically manufactured for a certain job predestined to them before they are artificially created, and where common human emotions, desires, wants, and needs have all been modified to support a deemed utopian society where everyone lives and works together in harmony. The Road describes a post apocalyptic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In conclusion, Huxley generally uses his collected, connected syntax and structure throughout the book to display a calmer, informative perspective on the events happening as the story progresses as well as implementing certain stylistic elements to make certain parts of the novel stand out. The characterization used by Huxley in Brave New World is one of significance and effectiveness for the point he is trying to convey. Huxley uses accurate, developed characterization and goes into great detail about the characters because this characterization ties into the plot. Since the theme of the novel reflects on how technology can change our world for the worse, by using accurate descriptions of the characters, their thoughts, and their actions, Huxley is able to more accurately show the audience how changes in a new society can contrast to the standards we have set for our society today. In addition, Huxley makes a special point to emphasize how material goods such as clothing can define a character in this society. Huxley purposefully establishes these simple social distinctions in characterization in order to emphasize the effect of the theme. Found in his novel, the following passage reads, What a hideous color khaki is (Huxley 62). This remark is made by an upper class woman who is characterized as better because of the programmed idea that wearing khaki is a sign ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
