This document provides an overview of the Michigan Mathematics and Science Teacher Leadership Collaborative (MMSTLC) program. The MMSTLC aims to develop teacher leaders to improve math and science teaching in high-needs schools. Teacher leaders receive professional development and leadership training from partners like universities and Math/Science Centers. They then work with teams at the local level to facilitate professional learning communities and develop resources. The statewide program provides networking opportunities while the local teams collaborate with STEM faculty and administrators. Examples are given of different leadership development models used across participating schools. The goal is to establish a sustainable network to disseminate best practices in math and science instruction.
