Everyone seems to have an intuitive understanding of ‘architecture’ as the process and product of planning, designing, and constructing. The problem is most people don’t have the same understanding which leads to disagreements about what the process and product entails. The transition from software shipped on physical media to software delivered as services further complicated the conversation as operating services introduces other factors that must be considered on an ongoing basis. These misunderstandings have only been exacerbated as greater speed and scale create new problems necessitating novel emergent solutions. This presentation will attempt to highlight the need for new language with dense semantics about the emerging architectures (because just saying ‘microservices’ is causing more problems than it solves) while also pointing out that many of the struggles people have delivering software are rooted in architecture.

Technology increasingly permeates every facet of modern business, from communications to CRM systems and customer analytics. IT and Digital have been drawn from a background support function and re-positioned as a core driver of strategy, value creation and competitive edge. This tectonic shift has placed senior technologists at the heart of the organisation, making them integral to decision making and leadership.
The DIGIT Leader Summit will explore this evolution of Information Technology as a discipline, discussing the increasing role of senior technologists in driving innovation and efficiency and shaping business strategy within their organisation. The programme will also consider some of the crucial components of leadership, looking at culture, vision, team building, up-skilling and communication.
The Summit is geared for senior IT and Digital leaders and is designed to promote knowledge exchange, best practice and collaboration in a friendly open forum. The event will be held at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh on 24th May 2017 and will be free for delegates to attend.

This slideshare is all about lean operational excellence, agile, scrum, lean start-up, customer development, agile frameworks, evidence based product development….
Sorry, what? Can there be anymore buzzwords? You are right, that’s why today we’ll separate facts and fiction about these potential 'business-saving' frameworks.
Because let’s face it, the reality is that even though they are absolutely useful, no one can guarantee you that one of these frameworks will work for your own, unique company. You will need to know where to start and take away those elements that suit your specific situation.
Agile coaches Nikki de Kloe and Sander Goudswaard (MakerStreet/ Noun) will guide you through the why, how and what regarding all these value-orientated frameworks. They will show you how these frameworks can help you do your business today, tomorrow and in the very near future.
Through tips, tricks and of course several case studies you will learn their possibilities, potential pitfalls and success criteria; so you can gain an insight in how you can make these frameworks work for you.

Climate Science Flows: Enabling Petabyte-Scale Climate Analysis with the Eart...Globus
The Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) is a global network of data servers that archives and distributes the planet’s largest collection of Earth system model output for thousands of climate and environmental scientists worldwide. Many of these petabyte-scale data archives are located in proximity to large high-performance computing (HPC) or cloud computing resources, but the primary workflow for data users consists of transferring data, and applying computations on a different system. As a part of the ESGF 2.0 US project (funded by the United States Department of Energy Office of Science), we developed pre-defined data workflows, which can be run on-demand, capable of applying many data reduction and data analysis to the large ESGF data archives, transferring only the resultant analysis (ex. visualizations, smaller data files). In this talk, we will showcase a few of these workflows, highlighting how Globus Flows can be used for petabyte-scale climate analysis.

Enhancing Research Orchestration Capabilities at ORNL.pdfGlobus
Cross-facility research orchestration comes with ever-changing constraints regarding the availability and suitability of various compute and data resources. In short, a flexible data and processing fabric is needed to enable the dynamic redirection of data and compute tasks throughout the lifecycle of an experiment. In this talk, we illustrate how we easily leveraged Globus services to instrument the ACE research testbed at the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility with flexible data and task orchestration capabilities.

Innovating Inference - Remote Triggering of Large Language Models on HPC Clus...Globus
Large Language Models (LLMs) are currently the center of attention in the tech world, particularly for their potential to advance research. In this presentation, we'll explore a straightforward and effective method for quickly initiating inference runs on supercomputers using the vLLM tool with Globus Compute, specifically on the Polaris system at ALCF. We'll begin by briefly discussing the popularity and applications of LLMs in various fields. Following this, we will introduce the vLLM tool, and explain how it integrates with Globus Compute to efficiently manage LLM operations on Polaris. Attendees will learn the practical aspects of setting up and remotely triggering LLMs from local machines, focusing on ease of use and efficiency. This talk is ideal for researchers and practitioners looking to leverage the power of LLMs in their work, offering a clear guide to harnessing supercomputing resources for quick and effective LLM inference.

Do you want Software for your Business? Visit Deuglo
Deuglo has top Software Developers in India. They are experts in software development and help design and create custom Software solutions.
Deuglo follows seven steps methods for delivering their services to their customers. They called it the Software development life cycle process (SDLC).
Requirement — Collecting the Requirements is the first Phase in the SSLC process.
Feasibility Study — after completing the requirement process they move to the design phase.
Design — in this phase, they start designing the software.
Coding — when designing is completed, the developers start coding for the software.
Testing — in this phase when the coding of the software is done the testing team will start testing.
Installation — after completion of testing, the application opens to the live server and launches!
Maintenance — after completing the software development, customers start using the software.
Graspan: A Big Data System for Big Code AnalysisAftab Hussain
We built a disk-based parallel graph system, Graspan, that uses a novel edge-pair centric computation model to compute dynamic transitive closures on very large program graphs.
We implement context-sensitive pointer/alias and dataflow analyses on Graspan. An evaluation of these analyses on large codebases such as Linux shows that their Graspan implementations scale to millions of lines of code and are much simpler than their original implementations.
These analyses were used to augment the existing checkers; these augmented checkers found 132 new NULL pointer bugs and 1308 unnecessary NULL tests in Linux 4.4.0-rc5, PostgreSQL 8.3.9, and Apache httpd 2.2.18.

Need for Speed: Removing speed bumps from your Symfony projects ⚡️Łukasz Chruściel
No one wants their application to drag like a car stuck in the slow lane! Yet it’s all too common to encounter bumpy, pothole-filled solutions that slow the speed of any application. Symfony apps are not an exception.
In this talk, I will take you for a spin around the performance racetrack. We’ll explore common pitfalls - those hidden potholes on your application that can cause unexpected slowdowns. Learn how to spot these performance bumps early, and more importantly, how to navigate around them to keep your application running at top speed.
We will focus in particular on tuning your engine at the application level, making the right adjustments to ensure that your system responds like a well-oiled, high-performance race car.
