Cheese Making Art Started Involuntarily, When Pastoral
Cheese making art started involuntarily, when pastoral tribes carrying milk using saddlebags made of
animal skins realized that, the milk clotted and in the end separated into milk curds and whey. The
whey provided a refreshing whey drink; while they drained the curds, salted it to give a tasty and
nourishing protein food. Traditionally, the cheese making procedure remained a day long process,
starting in the morning, after farmers milked their cows, till late in the afternoon. Eventually, the art
evolved drastically and spread across the world. The cheese making process is part science and all
cheese crafting uses some variant of the four step process that includes curdling, draining, pressing,
and ripening. In this occasion, we explore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2.Making process
Another disparity is in their making processes; cheddar making process starts by heating milk to 71F
to pasteurize and curb decomposition and promote product uniformity. Thereafter, a starter is added to
enable the growth of flavor and texture. The starter culture changes lactose to lactic acid, preparing the
milk before adding rennet which helps coagulate the milk proteins. Thereafter, the coagulated milk is
cut into small curds, a process that helps separate curd from whey. The cheesemakers then heat the
mixture, stirring constantly after which the whey is drained. The Cheddaring stage kicks in, which
involves kneading curd with salt, cutting it to drain excessive whey, then rotating and piling. The
cheese then enters the salting stage, after which the curds are set in molds and pressed to shape and get
rid of excess moisture. Pressing can go overnight. Lastly, maturing stage sets in which goes on up to
24 months, depending on the age required.
Subsequently, Gouda making process uses pasteurized or unpasteurized milk. Nonetheless, the milk
must be clean and quality milk. The milk is heated to 86F; culture is added, and then ripened for one
hour. Thereafter, rennet, which helps coagulate the milk, is added. The mixture sits for about 45
minutes or until firm curds develop. The process continues with cutting the curd, into inch big squares,
holding for another five minutes to let curds firm up; this trick helps avoid losing milk fat.

Speech On Environmental Pollution
Pollution is a big problem in this day and age. Some pollution comes from burning gas to fuel our cars
or some other forms of pollution comes from volcanoes. Carbon dioxide is the main pollutant
warming the earth. But if we start producing less carbon dioxide then the earth will heat up even more.
I know it s crazy right. Carbon dioxide can be produced by cars, planes, power plants, and many more
activities that involve the burning of gas. Did you know that within the past 150 years we humans
have produced the highest level of sulfur dioxide. Yes it s true. When volcanoes erupt they produce
sulfur dioxide which causes pollution but in this world today humans produce the most amount of
sulfur dioxide. You might be asking yourself what are other humans doing to help prevent pollution?
Well, some industrialized countries are trying to help prevent pollution a little bit more. But we can
help them with that by driving/flying less or recycling more. So let s throw our best efforts in to help
save our atmosphere. The most polluted city in the world is Dehli, New York. Delhi, New York is so
polluted that there is a little bit of a yellow tint in the sky. Matthieu Daley spent 5 days taking pictures
all around Delhi and in his photographs you can see a little bit of yellow over the sky. We can see
physical results of pollution in his photographs. No one wants to have yellow skies so let s throw in a
helping hand and do more for the atmosphere.
There is actually water pollution

Literary Techniques Used In Truman Capote s A Christmas...
Truman Capote was born Truman Strekfus Persons, but his mother made him change his name after
she remarried. Capote was one of the twentieth centuries most well known writers. Mostly known for
his work Breakfast At Tiffany s, he had other great pieces as well. One of them being A Christmas
Memory. Capote had one main worry in his life on this earth, and that was his best friend, his aunt,
Nanny Rumbley Faulk. Nanny s nickname was Sook, which was a common nickname for the older
sister of the house in the 1930s and 1940s. Capote later tells us that Sook nicknamed him Buddy after
a former best friend of hers who is now deceased. Capote uses three literary devices to highlight Sook
s importance.
Symbolism is used in A Christmas Memory to mirror Sook s actions. Capote uses Queenie for that
purpose. For example, Capote writes in paragraph twenty eight after Sook had been upset and buddy
comforts her, Queenie jumps on the bed to lick her cheeks. Symbolism is very a important part in this
short story because queenie always shows sooks reaction to the things happening around them. Capote
uses symbolism on himself as well is this short story. The symbol for Capote ... Show more content on

Vivid language is displayed here to show us how he felt while these things were actually happening
and give us a mental picture of what Capote is writing about. One example of this is the sentence
within paragraph 2 that states, A woman with shorn white hair is standing at the kitchen window. This
shows us partially how sook looks with her shorn white hair. In addition the last quote, another strong
example of vivid language used in this story is in paragraph seven when Capote says, Dusk turns the
window into a mirror: our reflections mingle with the rising moon as we work by the fireside in the
firelight. That shows us exactly what Capote and Sook were looking at and it gives us a unique image
in our head of that exact

Staphylococcus Pneumoniae Research Paper
Streptococcus pneumoniae, commonly called S. Pneumoniae or Pneumonccus, is a significant human
pathogenic bacterium. This bacteria can cause a wide variety of illnesses depending on where the
bacteria occupies. It is found in the respiratory tract, nasopharynx or the blood stream. Conditions that
may develop from Streptococcus Pneumoniae of the nasopharynx are: Conjunctivitis, Ottis media and
sinusitis. Conditions steaming from bacteria located in the respiratory tract are pneumonia. Conditions
that develop from hematogenous spread are: Meningitis, Bacteremia, and joint and bone infections.
Approximately 1 in 4 people carry the bacteria asymptomatically.
Signs and symptoms of Streptococcus Pneumoniae vary depending on where the bacteria is
presenting. Classic symptoms are: A sudden onset of chills, pleuritic chest pain, fever, and a cough
that produces rusty sputum. Patients with a bacteremic disease may lack respiratory symptoms and
fever. Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea present in 15 to 20% of these patients. Elevated blood urea
nitrogen and serum creatinine levels are also common. According to the Centers for Disease Control

The Physics Of Gravity Fed System
Gravity Fed System
In rural area of Cambodia, Water from the rainwater tank is supplied to the targeted facilities such as
houses and school by gravity. Gravity is a force that attracts all the objects on the Earth surface due to
the attraction exerted by the mass of the planet. This force usually fall at lowest point of the surface. In
this situation, the water in the tank flows down by its own weight through pipe and run out from taps.
It is applicable if the pipes and taps are lower than the level of the water in the tank itself. The formula
to calculate the force acting by the height of water is as follow:
P = ρgh where, [1]
W: Pressure of the water (Pa) ρ: density of water (kg/m3) g: gravity of the Earth (ms 2) h: height of
the water from the ground surface (m)
Figure 6 Illustration of the gravity force acting on the water
In addition, most of the rainwater tank in rural area of Cambodia are elevated rainwater tank and
ground level water tank. Both rainwater tanks use the force of gravity to transport water by pipework
to nearby houses. Main reason of using gravity force for water transportation due to it low
maintanence and running cost. In addition the level of services also consistence due to low
maintannece needs. Therefore for elevated rainwater tank, the foundation normally is built with four
reinforced concrete tower elevated between 4m up to 9m. For ground water tank, its foundation is
built 700mm above the ground level to provide sufficient

Heyoka In Holy Clowns
The figure of holy clown is a vital spiritual character in the most Native American tribes. It is a truly
unique being that is endowed with absolutely contrary characteristics. Clowns behavior can be silly,
outrageous and even dangerous for the surrounding people, but nevertheless they are important part of
religious life of the community. Lame Deer take the reader into extraordinary world of heyoka, a holy
clown of Lakota Indians. His account let us better understand the awesome spiritual character of
heyoka, and see how clown is being transformed from the profane fool to the most sacred figure.
Heyoka is almost always a male. He acts foolishly and makes people laugh, he can reverse the
meaning of the words or speaks them backward, wear clothes and shoes the wrong way, he builds his
sweat lodge in opposite direction. But no matter what he does, all his actions are considered sacred,
for heyoka is endowed with a very powerful energy, that is guiding his mischief. People know that this

The Startling Plight Of China s Leftover Ladies Summary
Jinzhao Li WR098 Steinberg Sept. 20. 2014 Christina Larsen s article The Startling Plight of China s
Leftover Ladies (2012) can be said to be a presentation of the pervasive efforts of society to control
the bodies of women. It should be noted that in many societies women can even be forced to be
married even against their will under pain severe punishment such as death. In this case, in the
Chinese situation as reported by Larsen, the means of control is more of persuasion with the use of
derogatory language that nevertheless appears to be a failed cause. Why it can be said that the Chinese
society are trying to control the bodies of Chinese women is because they are widely propagating the
use of the slang phrase sheng nu to label women who are unmarried and past the supposedly ideal
marriageable age of 27 or 30 as left over ladies too old to be desirable. The article talks about sheng
nu as forming an alternating topic of humor and alarm for Chinese media content and even
government studies. What all these mean is that the Chinese society, through its powerful institutions
of the government and the media, are pressuring the women to marry and to marry as early as
possible. That this pressure really exists is pointed out by magazine contributor and sociologist Leta

Society Vs Society
Many people are trying their best to look for a better future every day. Their willingness to take jobs
that no one want and that society are categorizing with a successful or a failure with a just before their
title. Society is not seeing that these people are looking for a job that helps them pay their bill and
have a stable future. These people are as valuable as any other person and should be respected as well.
Instead, society is categorizing them with a just and making it sound like a failure on societies eyes.
People deserve to be respected and value all the time and their job title should not matter at all. Not to
mention, that now in this days if you want to be known and respected you need to have a job that the
society categorizes as a success. When people start asking what your job is not because they want to
know about you, most of the time. When they ask is because they want to know if you have succeeded
in life. Nickie Mc Whirter in her essay, What You Do is What You Are claims that It is as if by
defining how a person earns his or her rent money, we validate or reject that person s existence. Mc
Whirter is expressing that society immediately places you in the category based on your job. It is sad
to see but I have seen this happen around me. I have seen that people get treated based on what they re
categorized. For example, I have heard teachers that they re not going to clean because of their
teachers, not janitors. I have also heard they

Why Is Friendship Important In The Perks Of Being A...
Housna Batiebo
A true friend is the greatest of all blessings, and that which we take the least care to acquire. François
de La Rochefoucauld. A lot of people have at least one friend. Friends are sometimes needed in life.
This is important because friendship can help people. In the novel The Perks of being a Wallflower,
Stephen Chbosky proves the quote above by demonstrating that friendship is beneficial to protagonist,
Charlie who gains benefit from his friendships with his friends Sam and Patrick.
Friendship is beneficial to Charlie because it helps him realize that he was molested. Charlie s aunt

Unrequited Love In An Abusive Relationship
I watched a Ted talk about a woman named Leslie Morgan Steiner who was in an abusive relationship.
She talked about the questions people ask her like why did she stay or why didn t she try to get help.
She talked about how many victims from an abusive relationship end up being in denial. They keep
thinking that it will never happen again, they also think they are alone. Leslie talks about her journey
and her relationship with her abusive boyfriend and soon husband. Love is blinding and one of the
first signs of a domestic abuser is idolizing their partner and then isolating them from their friends and
family. This could be considered unrequited love in regards to erotomania which is when someone

As a result he was not obliged to take the post in order to mitigate the losses.
SCRUTINY OF CAUSATION AND REMOTENESS OF DAMAGES
To avoid undue hardship to the defaulting party a line must be drawn separating damages resulting
from his breach for which he should be liable and damages which, although in the broad sense of the
word are as a result of his breach, are so remote to extent that he should not be liable for them. This
line is drawn when separating General (intrinsic) damages from Special (extrinsic) damages.
The courts insist that the damages should be direct rather than indirect. Direct damages are also known
as general or intrinsic damages. They flow naturally and generally from the kind of breach of contract
in question.
Indirect damages are special or extrinsic damages, which are only recovered in special circumstances
attending the conclusion of the contract.
In Zimbabwe there is only one possible test that could be applied to decide whether special or
extrinsic damages can be recovered for breach of contract. This test is the contemplation principle.
The test applied under this principle is to check whether the contracting parties actually or
presumptively foresaw that the breach of contract in question would result in the type of loss being
sued for. Case in point is that of Collective Self Finance Scheme (CFC) v Asharia (A) year 200 in
which CFC contracted to buy a property from the respondent and paid a deposit. CFC later repudiated

Bus Transit And Mass Transit
1 INTRODUCTION
1.1General
In urban areas due to expansion of cities and population growth the major problems which arise are
more travel time and more travel cost. For Developing countries like India, China, Brazil etc. taking
affordability and mobility into account the policy makers induced public transport system for
movements like inter urban or intra urban. Various examples are Bus Transit Mass Transit. Due to
bigger city size and fixed routes of these systems its accessibility varies for different user. These
predefined fixed routes do not take into account the whole catchment area from where the users are
using. Among these users there are some users which use daily bases are known as commuters. Such
commuters access/egress the transit system by a variety of modes such as by walking, bicycle, manual
tricycle, motorized 2 3 wheeler, feeder bus services and cars. Each mode has its utility within certain
distance range (Khistey and Sriraj 1996) . Increase in city size has reflected in the utility of various
modes, utility of motorized vehicles have increased whereas the utility of non motorized have
decreased. From socio economic point, these include loss of employment, slow elimination of
environment friendly modes like bicycles, manual tricycles and walk and increase in population
levels. The mode choice for access and egress varies for various users but for policy makers it is very
important to identify the factors which are influencing these mode

Repercussions of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership
William Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar highlights how weak leaders affect society s condition.
Shakespeare displays this through the actions of multiple characters, one of whom is Julius Caesar, a
Roman general and senator greatly favored by the people. Caesar enters the play by ignoring a
soothsayer s omen to beware the ides of March, an action that is indicative of his belief in his personal
invulnerability. Caesar s continuous disregard of warnings of his death manifests into his ultimate
demise. Shakespeare extrapolates Caesar s arrogance, physical weakness, and unfortunate fate to
elucidate how rulers with similar traits would eventually fail and foment disarray between their
people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Caesar s arrogance brings victories to Rome, it also causes him to disregard obvious warnings.
This is shown when Calpurnia begs him not to go to the meeting, and he initially agrees to stay home

being. In fact he says, Danger knows full well/ That Caesar is more dangerous than he (A2S2L46 47)

crown three times makes him likable and allows Antony to persuade the citizens to seek revenge

The Depletion of Energy Sources Due to Global Warming
Energy represents an important aspect in our life for all living creatures. It was defined as the quantity
that will be assigned to every particle, object and the systems of objects (Harper, 2007). Besides that,
energy plays a fundamental role in the continuous development and the economic growth of every
country. Meanwhile, the depletion of energy sources and the global climate change push the world to
look for better solutions in the sustainable sources of energy (Dermirci and Miele, 2009).
1.1 Research Background
There are several energy resources such as petroleum, coal and natural gases that used widely in
transportation and industry. Currently, petroleum is the major power and it is almost drained
attributable to urbanization. This caused several phenomena such as air pollution, global environment
problems and almost to climate change (Abdul Rahman, 2006).The world confronts the energy crisis
attributable to depletion of energetic resources for the last few years. Thus, the consequences will be
the significant increase of the environmental problems (Barnwal, 2005).
The widespread use of fuel in the current energy infrastructure was the largest source of anthropogenic
emission of carbon dioxide, where it contributes the main responsibility for global warming and the
finite supply of fossil fuels energy. Conventional energy sources based on oil, coal, and natural gas
have been proven to increase the economic progress effect. However, this energy brings the negative

Taking Water And Marketing Something That Should Be A...
California is going through a very difficult period right now because of this drought and there are still
people who think that Nestle taking water and marketing something that should be a public right is
okay. For example, people like the Chief Executive Officer of Nestle waters, Peter Brabeck Letmath,
recently said that water is a food like any other and it should have a price value because it is not a
human right (Bacher). Pumping water out of California s water sources while in an exceptional
drought is outrageous. Many people might believe that it is okay for Nestle to pump water because it
is for the people and they have the permission to do so, but at what cost? This constant pumping has
already hurt the ecosystems and its animals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the many jobs offered by Nestle mean more production of plastic bottles creating more
waste and more pollution. As I interviewed one of my classmates, Tiffany Xiong, she brought up the
point about how some people might say that water bottles are good because they provide water access
for when there are no other options or when access to clean water is lost. Even though the bottled
water might provide water in times of crisis, relying too much on bottled water can eventually lead up
to the same crisis that other disadvantaged regions are facing. Bottled water might be convenient and
fitting for most people, but it is still very expensive and corrupt compared to tap water. Also, bottled
water companies have great impacts of producing and distributing millions of gallons of water on
global warming. Many cities of California are suffering from the devastating drought and Nestles
pumping and Sacramento is amongst the top.
In the state of California, the city of Sacramento is feeling the outcome of the water pumping by
Nestle, as well as the drought. Sacramento has reached its Fourth year of this record braking drought,
but this is not stopping Nestle from pumping water into water bottles and selling it to the public for
profit. Nestle water has pumped approximately eighty million gallons of water out of the aquifers in
Sacramento during this historic drought (Bacher). A lot of people in Sacramento

Bbc s Power In World War II
The BBC s Power in World War II Radio proved itself to be a profound method of deriving
information before television and the Internet were developed. In Britain, the British Broadcasting
Corporation, also known as the BBC, usurped the radio business in England, filling radiowaves with
various programs pertinent to British life. However, by the time the Second World War came to
fruition, the BBC claimed English media and turned it into the most essential source of wartime
media. The BBC found itself instrumental as a media conduit during the Second World War in the
British Empire because it was able to boost morale in England, as well as having the ability to bring
the soldiers abroad and the citizens at home closer together. The BBC also ... Show more content on

Many broadcasts publicized by the BBC tied the regions of Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland
through England. England constituted itself of these regions, as well as Britain. Various media
methods allowed for regional contribution, but most importantly, for the sake of auxiliary linguistics,
Wales and Scotland produced broadcasts in Welsh and Gaelic, respectively (Hajkowski 122). In
allowing for synchronicity in England, it became essential for the BBC to focus not solely on the
views of the Britons, but rather all the factions that made up England. The allocation of varied
viewpoints indicated interests that regional lands perceived about the war and made them popular
among the rest of England. This led to the BBC s contribution to the war, as it represented such. To get
a better understanding on the interests of England as a whole, the people of England tuned into the
programs that the BBC offered in the Empire about the regionally diverse mainland of England. Such
broadcasts did not go unnoticed thus allowing for cultural syncretism to spread amongst the citizens of
England. Some programs in particular helped define the ideal regionality of the BBC. For example, In
Britain Now, in the midst of the war, became popular, attracting almost twenty five percent of radio
listeners in Britain (Hajkowski 124). This program established itself as one of the most prolific
regional media conduits through which varied broadcasts were shown. Its quality viewership and
informative nature made it an efficient consolidation of the traditions in England. Although regional
broadcasts had enormous success, the BBC managed to have some difficulty with the ability to
broadcast regionally. In particular, the acquisition of adequate programs for all of England and the
erroneous run times kept audiences minimal and made regional standing capricious in broadcasting
(Hajkowski 125). However, the broadcasts did allow for

Human Tooth, Tooth Decay

Human tooth
Teeth of humans are small, calcified, whitish structures found in the mouth that are used to break
down food. The roots of teeth are embedded in the maxilla (upper jaw) or the mandible (lower jaw)
and are covered by gums. Teeth are made of multiple tissues of varying density and hardness.
Teeth are among the most distinctive (and long lasting) features of mammal species. Humans, like
other mammals, are diphyodont, meaning that they develop two sets of teeth. The first set (also called
the baby , milk , primary , and deciduous set) normally starts to appear at about six months of age,
although some babies are born with one or more visible teeth, known as neonatal ... Show more

Depending on the extent of tooth destruction, various treatments can be used to restore teeth to proper
form, function, and aesthetics, but there is no known method to regenerate large amounts of tooth
structure. Instead, dental health organizations advocate preventive and prophylactic measures, such as
regular oral hygiene and dietary modifications, to avoid dental caries.
Causes
There are four main criteria required for caries formation: a tooth surface (enamel or dentin); caries
causing bacteria; fermentable carbohydrates (such as sucrose); and time. The caries process does not
have an inevitable outcome, and different individuals will be susceptible to different degrees
depending on the shape of their teeth, oral hygiene habits, and the buffering capacity of their saliva.
Dental caries can occur on any surface of a tooth that is exposed to the oral cavity, but not the
structures that are retained within the bone. All caries occurs from acid demineralization that exceeds
saliva and fluoride remineralization, and almost all acid demineralization occurs where food
(containing carbohydrate like sugar) is left on teeth. Though most trapped food is left between teeth,
over 80% of cavities occur inside pits and fissures on chewing surfaces where brushing, fluoride, and
saliva cannot reach to remineralize the tooth as they do on easy to reach surfaces that develop few
cavities.

Our family had always known for their history in Anemia. It had been transfer from my great
grandmother to our mother to us. Anemia has different levels from the simple to the sever. We all
share the simple anemia except my aunt. She always suffered from severe anemia. At first, she was a
fine young lady that filled with fun and she always made people laugh. One day, she noticed that the

she was trying to get up from bed she couldn t and told her husband that she can t feel her legs so her
husband took her to the hospital. They took her blood and made some tests and they found that she

when the doctor asked her if she could remember anything unusual happened to her like any weird
signs she told him about the earth spinning and other stuff. The doctor told her that these signs are
evidence for a person having anemia. The doctor told her that she won t have a long time to live
because her body had lost a lot of blood and it cannot regenerate it anymore and even if they gave here
donations it won t help. She was frustrated. After a few weeks her face started to get yellow and her

Online Advertising Methods For Advertising
Online Advertising Methods
Background
Every day, marketing professional come up with new ways in which they can market their products to
consumers successfully. Marketing of products has significantly changed following the invention of
the internet. The enormous popularity of the internet in the past decade has opened doors for
marketers in a manner that one could not have imagined twenty years ago. Marketers utilize the
internet for the purpose of advertising products in a great way than other media outlets such as
television, magazines, newspapers, and radio. Online social networking platforms such as Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn have become a new big thing in which marketers advertise their
product on the internet. More than 67% of the global community have joined one or more social
media platforms making them the most successful ways marketers can advertise their products[7].
Online direct marketing is also another way marketers create awareness to the consumers regarding
their new or existing products and services. Banner advertisement on the internet is another method of
online advertisement. It allows consumers to obtain information on issues they want by clicking the
banners of their choice [7]. Contrary to the traditional methods of advertising, online advertising
allows consumers to interact with the marketers. Consumers get clarification of issues they may have

The Cell Membrane Transport Lab
INTRODUCTION
In the cell membrane transport lab, there were many experiments that were done such as osmosis,
diffusion in a gel, diffusion in a liquid, diffusion in air, and filtration, A cell membrane transport lab is
done to understand the different ways of transport and why they are all important since it relates to the
human body.
Osmosis occurs when a fluid, that s most likely water, passes through a semipermeable membrane.
The tonicity of the solutions on both sides of the semipermeable membrane determines the outcome. It
s possible to use osmosis to sort blood cells by using a hypotonic solution to deplete blood cells to
distinguish and sort out the differences (Parichehreh et al 2011). The tonicity of the blood and the cells
can determine the health of the body, where your body can be dehydrated to hydrate enough. Variables
in this experiment is the cell when it crenates or hemolyzes until the solutions on either sides of the
semipermeable membrane reaches equilibrium. If tonicity affects osmosis, then exposing a dialysis
membrane full of cytoplasmic solution (containing glucose, albumin, NaCl, and starch) in an
environment solution (deionized water) will cause the cell to swell and gain weight due to being a
hypertonic solution and will result in glucose and NaCl passing through the semipermeable membrane
and leave the cell since the particles of glucose and NaCl are small, leaving osmosis to occur until the
two solutions reaches equilibrium.
In diffusion,

Benefits Of Online Higher Education
The digital era has created a revolutionary structure to higher education using the internet. Technology
has changed the way students can interact with their instructors and classroom instruction through
portals that institutions have created on their specific websites for degree and non degree seeking
students. The benefits of online courses range from different avenues to create an educational
environment that provides more options to classroom instructions. Online higher education is an
exceptional alternative to traditional classroom learning due to the convenience, peer interaction, cost,
and self pacing aspects of the institution.
As military members travel throughout the world on a moment s notice, the convenience of online
higher education creates a way for a military member to continue their education without pausing their
educational development. According to Starr (2013), Active duty military service members are
increasing as constituents of online higher education environments in America (p. 3). The rise in
numbers is due to the convenience that online education provides for service member who can now do
their job that usually entails traveling, and keep up with their educational goals. According to
McPherson (2015), Internet technology provides the ability to stop, rewind, and play instructional
videos, something that traditional classrooms do not provide (p. 144). With videos and webinars
available to students, the content can always be issued or retrieved

Doctrine of Foreign Policy Constructed by U.S. Presidents
There were many presidents of the United States that were able to construct doctrines during their
presidency terms in office that defined their individual foreign policy goals and/or aims. Just to name
a few there was the Monroe Doctrine of 1823, Truman Doctrine 1947 and the Reagan Doctrine of
1984. For example, the Monroe Doctrine was constructed for two main reasons: 1) John Adams,
Secretary of State, suggested the principle that the Western hemisphere was not an option for any
further colonization by the European powers and 2) the U.S. would defend the freedom of other
nations. The Monroe Doctrine proved its power in the 1900 s when President Roosevelt enforced the
doctrine during the Venezuela Border Dispute as well as securing the independence of Cuba from the
abusive Spanish rule.
During his Presidency, The Ronald Reagan Doctrine was a foreign policy in the United States from
1980 to 1991. The doctrine was to help eliminate communist governments such as Latin America,
Africa and Asia which were supported by the Soviet Union (Lagon, 1994). The plan was to implement
support to private and open guerilla and resistance movements that were supported by the Soviet in
communist countries. Containment was the official policy towards communism and in creating the
Reagan Doctrine, the focus started from keeping communism from spreading then it shifted to
eliminating existing communist governments. In addition to the eliminations of the communist
governments, the United

Condor vation Efforts
The Condor s Shadow, written by David S. Wilcove, is a book about the conservation of wildlife in
America. It describes multiple species that have been in danger of extinction, or gone extinct. The
book goes into depth on how these animals came to the brink of extinction and why they couldn t be
saved or the measures taken to restore them. One of the major themes throughout the book was habitat
destruction in forests and aquatic ecosystems alike. This led to the extinction of some species. When it
comes to the destruction of forests it affects not only the animals but the trees as well. Many trees ...

Luckily, humans have put in efforts to understand and sometimes reverse the damage done. Wilcove
describes ecosystem restoration, where usually humans put concentrated effort into recreating original
habitats to restore indigenous populations. This is, unless a very different assemblage of species has
taken hold of the land and cannot be dislodged, also known as a new steady state (Wilcove, 2000, p.
12). Wilcove himself joined the effort by studying the impacts humans have caused on woodland
critters. He surveyed an area in Maryland to detect predators by setting cardboard coated in masonry
powder to record footprints. He concluded that there were six predators: opossum, raccoon, striped
skunk, dog, cat, and blue jay. All are animals that benefit mightily from their association with people
(Wilcove, 2000, p. 42). He also mentions how extensive data can only be collected when looking at
the observations of many people over the generations. He talks about generational blindness, which
means how observers of a current generation cannot make conclusions on populations without the
help of data collected from the past (Wilcove, 2000, p. 13). Only from the accumulation of
observations can patterns and predictions be drawn. These all show ways science is applied to the
world, through the scientific method web shown in chapter one of Biology: The

Contemporary Art And Art Theory Of Africa And Asia At Soas...
Frantz Fanon discusses collective catharsis, In every society, in every community, there exists, must
exist, a channel, an outlet whereby the energy accumulated in the form of aggressiveness can be
released. This is the inspiration for my curatorial practice. As a curator, community organizer, first
generation Caribbean American and New York City native, my curatorial work seeks to foster
resistance and empowerment with oppressed communities. I seek to do this by cultivating spaces for
collective catharsis and critical discourse, becoming the catalyst for radical action. A passion for
Justice by every means necessary is at the root of my desire to study Contemporary Art and Art
Theory of Africa and Asia at SOAS.
Art is one of global society s most fluid tools for justice and equity. Working as an Arts Administrator
for the Bronx Council on the Arts, I ve further realized the significance the arts have historically had
and continue to have as ancillary support for failing institutions. This is of utmost importance to me
because I am interested in the many ways art forms and art objects have been used historically in
African cultures to solve conflicts or answer questions. As well as how Contemporary African art (of
the diaspora and the continent) can be used to solve the conflicts of today, and lead to liberatory
futures for the Africans of all nations.

Why was Germany unable to translate tactical and operational victories into strategic success during
World War II? More pointedly and stated simpler, why did Germany loose World War II?
Why Germany lost the war (despite its early tactical successes) is a simple question with a complex
answer. And, over the years since Germany s surrender at Reims, France on May 7, 1945, scholars and
historians have provided a number of arguments to warrant their perspective answers. Consequently

Because Hitler s vision did not translate into an effective strategic plan, with clear strategic objectives
a disconnect between what Germany wanted to achieve (ends), the way it wanted to achieve it (ways),
and the resources it would choose to utilize (means) was created. As such, it is this disconnection that
also played a large role in Germany s failure to translate its tactical and operational victories into
strategic success and overall victory. Examples of this disconnect and the calamitous effects are
clearly present in a quick analysis of the Battle of Britain.
During the Battle of Britain, Germany wanted to achieve air superiority but ultimately failed to defeat
the Royal Air Force (RAF). Hitler ordered the Lufwaffe to destroy the RAF in preparation for
Operation Sealion which was Germany s invasion plan for Britain. Although numerous factors
contributed to Hitler s decision to attack Britain, in keeping with his one front at a time war
methodology, Hitler wanted to secure the Western Front prior to invading the Soviet Union. Initially,
directed by Hermann Goering (commander in chief of the Lufwaffe) Germany targeted Britain s
coastal areas and convoys, airports, and vital British air warning and radar

Immigration Patterns In Australia Essay
Background
To provide a context for this study, it is necessary to understand Australia s changing immigration
patterns. From its earliest occupation, Australia has attracted immigrants globally, Australia has had a
long history of immigration since the first European settlement in the 1700s. People from all parts of
the world have brought with them, their cultures, customs and languages (Creswell, 2004).
Western Australia is the fastest growing state in Australia and the dynamics of this population change
now corroborates that the number of immigrants have excelled the number of natural births. Current

The Harsh Times Of The 1890 S
During the harsh times of the 1890 s, the Newsboys were under severe oppression in the working
place. This would change when they publicly challenged the authority of the corporate operation,
ultimately leading to a shift in New York civil disputes and eventually helping to engulf the unfair
working laws that were presented. This will and would lead the change of many civil minds and spark
more impactful rebellions down the road. Up to this point a multitude of people were oppressed in
many ways, varying from race, to belief(s), and in the work force. The time in which these series of
strikes took place were up to the evolutionary pre nineteen hundreds. Specifically the 1890 s.

The date was July 21st, 1899, and the fed up employees of the money hungry corporate news
companies had had enough. They unified under the strength of Kid Blink . Throughout the city you
could hear the chants of those who seeked a change in political and price changes. After much
hassling and bullying from the rich, the determined boy s reflected the shame that they were so often
tied together with. When asked what truly sparked the rebellion of the strike, an interviewer got the
direct response in this form.
What will you strike for? The interviewer asked, as the messenger boy replied, For a raise from 3.50
cents what we get now to four dollars a week and pay for overtime. They make us pay thirteen dollars
for a uniform, and one dollar for a hat , and 2.50 for rubber boots, and two dollars for a rubber coat...I
only made 65 cents my first week. Not only were the uniforms expensive by nature, but the the final
blow in a sorts was that Pulitzer and Hearst raised the price from 50 cents per one hundred bundles, to
60 cents where some even claim it was higher, up to 70 cents per bundle.

English Writer And Poet Gilbert K. Chesterton
English writer and poet Gilbert K. Chesterton once stated that, You cannot love a thing without
wanting to fight for it. Because true love, the passion that binds two people, is something that renews
itself and is never diminished. It neither deteriorates nor does it die. Rather both bliss and hardship,
distance and nearness, pleasure and pain, form the foundation for which love sits upon. Love, like
steel, is tempered by the flames of adversity and as a result it is made stronger by its heat. Love is so
deeply rooted and critical to humanity because in love there is stability, compassion, and comfort. In
love people give a part of their heart, their soul, their own passion, to another. In a world of loneliness,
uncertainty and danger, love is a constant worth fighting for. Moreover, love that one choses to not
fight for does not deserve to be called true love. It can be lust, passion, or endearment but never love
because the gift of love is sacred. It is selfless, mutual, and permanent. It is true.
The Mu`allaqat of Antara is one such example of love that is true. This story mirrors that of the
classical Shakespearean tragedy Romeo and Juliet, where love blossoms amidst two warring houses.
The hero of this ode quite literally fights on the battlefield for his lover. The devotion of the man s
love can be seen by how eloquently he describes his feelings for her. He states, She takes your heart

Essay on Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights
Wuthering Heights: A Great Romantic Novel
The Romantic Period was a very imaginative and creative period of thinking. The literature produced
during this period reflected this wild and free spirited imagination. The works dismissed the
Enlightenment thinkers in their claims of Reason, progress, and universal truths (Damrosch, 1317).
Instead, these writers explored superstitions and had a renewed sense of passion for the wild, the
unfamiliar, the irregular, and the irrational (Damrosch, 1317). Other common elements of the writing
during this period were the returned interest of gothic romance elements, a fascination of exploring the
inner world of the mind and the unconscious into its dark side, an interest in emotional ... Show more

This is not even the complete list of Romantic elements found within the books borders. To sum up
the elements, one needs to include all of the conflicts found in the novel, both the internal and external
conflicts. These include things like Nature vs. Civilization, the Wild vs. the Tame, the Deep and
Elemental vs. the Superficial and Impermanent, and Natural Impulses vs. Artificial Restraint
(Agatucci, 4).
All of these different elements are combined into this one novel, showing the avant garde genius of
Emily Bronte. She was a very creative innovator full of an incredibly gifted imagination and
otherworldy sense for the supernatural ghosts of the past and the hidden personal demons found deep
in the unconscious mind, which she displays in the character of Heathcliff especially.
Heathcliff starts out in the story as the most outcast of the outcast. He is picked up and adopted from
the streets of Liverpool by the head of the household on one of his journeys to town he takes every
once in a while. He starts out as this ugly and hideous creature who is ridiculed and beaten by the
other kids in the house. He finds one true playmate and friend in the rambunctious Cathy, who is a free
spirit that falls in love with his mysterious character. This relationship becomes forbidden however
when the father dies and the oldest son takes over the household. Heathcliff is banished from the
house eventually,

Schumpeter believe that management theory it Is becoming a collection of dead ideas. In other words,
he believe that most of what we learn today about management is outdated and do not accurately
describe how businesses operating in today s society. He opens his article by comparing management
theory to the reformation. At first the comparison seem unrelated but as I read along I realized that his
analogy was not so far fetched. The gist is that management theory is like the Catholic church because
in the 16th century the Catholic Church way of doing had numerous theological errors. So Martin
Luther, a Monk, came up with 95 these to fix the problem; his thesis gave birth to the modern world.

The first theory is the idea that businesses are more competitive than ever. He states that popular
management theory books emphasize that we live in a world where businesses are always competing

what we are seeing in today s economy is consolidation. He states that since 2008 more than 30,000
deals a year worth 3% of the GDP is a result of consolidation. Schumpeter believe that the reason why
consolidation is so popular is because companies are enjoying record profits. I do agree with
Schumpeter that more company consolidating instead of competing. I constantly hear of large

  • 2. Cheese Making Art Started Involuntarily, When Pastoral Cheese making art started involuntarily, when pastoral tribes carrying milk using saddlebags made of animal skins realized that, the milk clotted and in the end separated into milk curds and whey. The whey provided a refreshing whey drink; while they drained the curds, salted it to give a tasty and nourishing protein food. Traditionally, the cheese making procedure remained a day long process, starting in the morning, after farmers milked their cows, till late in the afternoon. Eventually, the art evolved drastically and spread across the world. The cheese making process is part science and all cheese crafting uses some variant of the four step process that includes curdling, draining, pressing, and ripening. In this occasion, we explore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2.Making process Another disparity is in their making processes; cheddar making process starts by heating milk to 71F to pasteurize and curb decomposition and promote product uniformity. Thereafter, a starter is added to enable the growth of flavor and texture. The starter culture changes lactose to lactic acid, preparing the milk before adding rennet which helps coagulate the milk proteins. Thereafter, the coagulated milk is cut into small curds, a process that helps separate curd from whey. The cheesemakers then heat the mixture, stirring constantly after which the whey is drained. The Cheddaring stage kicks in, which involves kneading curd with salt, cutting it to drain excessive whey, then rotating and piling. The cheese then enters the salting stage, after which the curds are set in molds and pressed to shape and get rid of excess moisture. Pressing can go overnight. Lastly, maturing stage sets in which goes on up to 24 months, depending on the age required. Subsequently, Gouda making process uses pasteurized or unpasteurized milk. Nonetheless, the milk must be clean and quality milk. The milk is heated to 86F; culture is added, and then ripened for one hour. Thereafter, rennet, which helps coagulate the milk, is added. The mixture sits for about 45 minutes or until firm curds develop. The process continues with cutting the curd, into inch big squares, holding for another five minutes to let curds firm up; this trick helps avoid losing milk fat. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Speech On Environmental Pollution Pollution is a big problem in this day and age. Some pollution comes from burning gas to fuel our cars or some other forms of pollution comes from volcanoes. Carbon dioxide is the main pollutant warming the earth. But if we start producing less carbon dioxide then the earth will heat up even more. I know it s crazy right. Carbon dioxide can be produced by cars, planes, power plants, and many more activities that involve the burning of gas. Did you know that within the past 150 years we humans have produced the highest level of sulfur dioxide. Yes it s true. When volcanoes erupt they produce sulfur dioxide which causes pollution but in this world today humans produce the most amount of sulfur dioxide. You might be asking yourself what are other humans doing to help prevent pollution? Well, some industrialized countries are trying to help prevent pollution a little bit more. But we can help them with that by driving/flying less or recycling more. So let s throw our best efforts in to help save our atmosphere. The most polluted city in the world is Dehli, New York. Delhi, New York is so polluted that there is a little bit of a yellow tint in the sky. Matthieu Daley spent 5 days taking pictures all around Delhi and in his photographs you can see a little bit of yellow over the sky. We can see physical results of pollution in his photographs. No one wants to have yellow skies so let s throw in a helping hand and do more for the atmosphere. There is actually water pollution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Literary Techniques Used In Truman Capote s A Christmas... Truman Capote was born Truman Strekfus Persons, but his mother made him change his name after she remarried. Capote was one of the twentieth centuries most well known writers. Mostly known for his work Breakfast At Tiffany s, he had other great pieces as well. One of them being A Christmas Memory. Capote had one main worry in his life on this earth, and that was his best friend, his aunt, Nanny Rumbley Faulk. Nanny s nickname was Sook, which was a common nickname for the older sister of the house in the 1930s and 1940s. Capote later tells us that Sook nicknamed him Buddy after a former best friend of hers who is now deceased. Capote uses three literary devices to highlight Sook s importance. Symbolism is used in A Christmas Memory to mirror Sook s actions. Capote uses Queenie for that purpose. For example, Capote writes in paragraph twenty eight after Sook had been upset and buddy comforts her, Queenie jumps on the bed to lick her cheeks. Symbolism is very a important part in this short story because queenie always shows sooks reaction to the things happening around them. Capote uses symbolism on himself as well is this short story. One example of this is the sentence within paragraph 2 that states, A woman with shorn white hair is standing at the kitchen window. This shows us partially how sook looks with her shorn white hair. In addition the last quote, another strong example of vivid language used in this story is in paragraph seven when Capote says, Dusk turns the window into a mirror: our reflections mingle with the rising moon as we work by the fireside in the firelight. • 6. The Physics Of Gravity Fed System Gravity Fed System In rural area of Cambodia, Water from the rainwater tank is supplied to the targeted facilities such as houses and school by gravity. Gravity is a force that attracts all the objects on the Earth surface due to the attraction exerted by the mass of the planet. This force usually fall at lowest point of the surface. In this situation, the water in the tank flows down by its own weight through pipe and run out from taps. It is applicable if the pipes and taps are lower than the level of the water in the tank itself. The formula to calculate the force acting by the height of water is as follow: P = ρgh where, [1] W: Pressure of the water (Pa) ρ: density of water (kg/m3) g: gravity of the Earth (ms 2) h: height of the water from the ground surface (m) Figure 6 Illustration of the gravity force acting on the water In addition, most of the rainwater tank in rural area of Cambodia are elevated rainwater tank and ground level water tank. Both rainwater tanks use the force of gravity to transport water by pipework to nearby houses. Main reason of using gravity force for water transportation due to it low maintanence and running cost. In addition the level of services also consistence due to low maintannece needs. • 9. The Startling Plight Of China s Leftover Ladies Summary Jinzhao Li WR098 Steinberg Sept. 20. 2014 Christina Larsen s article The Startling Plight of China s Leftover Ladies (2012) can be said to be a presentation of the pervasive efforts of society to control the bodies of women. It should be noted that in many societies women can even be forced to be married even against their will under pain severe punishment such as death. In this case, in the Chinese situation as reported by Larsen, the means of control is more of persuasion with the use of derogatory language that nevertheless appears to be a failed cause. Why it can be said that the Chinese society are trying to control the bodies of Chinese women is because they are widely propagating the use of the slang phrase sheng nu to label women who are unmarried and past the supposedly ideal marriageable age of 27 or 30 as left over ladies too old to be desirable. The article talks about sheng nu as forming an alternating topic of humor and alarm for Chinese media content and even government studies. What all these mean is that the Chinese society, through its powerful institutions of the government and the media, are pressuring the women to marry and to marry as early as possible. That this pressure really exists is pointed out by magazine contributor and sociologist Leta Hong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their willingness to take jobs that no one want and that society are categorizing with a successful or a failure with a just before their title. Society is not seeing that these people are looking for a job that helps them pay their bill and have a stable future. These people are as valuable as any other person and should be respected as well. Instead, society is categorizing them with a just and making it sound like a failure on societies eyes. People deserve to be respected and value all the time and their job title should not matter at all. Not to mention, that now in this days if you want to be known and respected you need to have a job that the society categorizes as a success. When people start asking what your job is not because they want to know about you, most of the time. When they ask is because they want to know if you have succeeded in life. Nickie Mc Whirter in her essay, What You Do is What You Are claims that It is as if by defining how a person earns his or her rent money, we validate or reject that person s existence. Mc Whirter is expressing that society immediately places you in the category based on your job. It is sad to see but I have seen this happen around me. I have seen that people get treated based on what they re categorized. For example, I have heard teachers that they re not going to clean because of their teachers, not janitors. They keep thinking that it will never happen again, they also think they are alone. Leslie talks about her journey and her relationship with her abusive boyfriend and soon husband. This line is drawn when separating General (intrinsic) damages from Special (extrinsic) damages. The courts insist that the damages should be direct rather than indirect. Direct damages are also known as general or intrinsic damages. They flow naturally and generally from the kind of breach of contract in question. Indirect damages are special or extrinsic damages, which are only recovered in special circumstances attending the conclusion of the contract. In Zimbabwe there is only one possible test that could be applied to decide whether special or extrinsic damages can be recovered for breach of contract. This test is the contemplation principle. The test applied under this principle is to check whether the contracting parties actually or presumptively foresaw that the breach of contract in question would result in the type of loss being sued for. Bus Transit And Mass Transit 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1General In urban areas due to expansion of cities and population growth the major problems which arise are more travel time and more travel cost. For Developing countries like India, China, Brazil etc. taking affordability and mobility into account the policy makers induced public transport system for movements like inter urban or intra urban. Various examples are Bus Transit Mass Transit. Due to bigger city size and fixed routes of these systems its accessibility varies for different user. These predefined fixed routes do not take into account the whole catchment area from where the users are using. Among these users there are some users which use daily bases are known as commuters. Such commuters access/egress the transit system by a variety of modes such as by walking, bicycle, manual tricycle, motorized 2 3 wheeler, feeder bus services and cars. Each mode has its utility within certain distance range (Khistey and Sriraj 1996) . Increase in city size has reflected in the utility of various modes, utility of motorized vehicles have increased whereas the utility of non motorized have decreased. From socio economic point, these include loss of employment, slow elimination of environment friendly modes like bicycles, manual tricycles and walk and increase in population levels. Repercussions Of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership Tiffany Tsang Clarke World Core, Period 1 25 November 2014 Repercussions of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership William Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar highlights how weak leaders affect society s condition. Shakespeare displays this through the actions of multiple characters, one of whom is Julius Caesar, a Roman general and senator greatly favored by the people. Caesar enters the play by ignoring a soothsayer s omen to beware the ides of March, an action that is indicative of his belief in his personal invulnerability. Caesar s continuous disregard of warnings of his death manifests into his ultimate demise. • 17. The Depletion of Energy Sources Due to Global Warming Energy represents an important aspect in our life for all living creatures. It was defined as the quantity that will be assigned to every particle, object and the systems of objects (Harper, 2007). Besides that, energy plays a fundamental role in the continuous development and the economic growth of every country. Meanwhile, the depletion of energy sources and the global climate change push the world to look for better solutions in the sustainable sources of energy (Dermirci and Miele, 2009). 1.1 Research Background There are several energy resources such as petroleum, coal and natural gases that used widely in transportation and industry. Currently, petroleum is the major power and it is almost drained attributable to urbanization. This caused several phenomena such as air pollution, global environment problems and almost to climate change (Abdul Rahman, 2006).The world confronts the energy crisis attributable to depletion of energetic resources for the last few years. Thus, the consequences will be the significant increase of the environmental problems (Barnwal, 2005). The widespread use of fuel in the current energy infrastructure was the largest source of anthropogenic emission of carbon dioxide, where it contributes the main responsibility for global warming and the finite supply of fossil fuels energy. Conventional energy sources based on oil, coal, and natural gas have been proven to increase the economic progress effect. However, this energy brings the negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

California is going through a very difficult period right now because of this drought and there are still people who think that Nestle taking water and marketing something that should be a public right is okay. For example, people like the Chief Executive Officer of Nestle waters, Peter Brabeck Letmath, recently said that water is a food like any other and it should have a price value because it is not a human right (Bacher). Pumping water out of California s water sources while in an exceptional drought is outrageous. This constant pumping has already hurt the ecosystems and its animals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the many jobs offered by Nestle mean more production of plastic bottles creating more waste and more pollution. As I interviewed one of my classmates, Tiffany Xiong, she brought up the point about how some people might say that water bottles are good because they provide water access for when there are no other options or when access to clean water is lost. Even though the bottled water might provide water in times of crisis, relying too much on bottled water can eventually lead up to the same crisis that other disadvantaged regions are facing. Bottled water might be convenient and fitting for most people, but it is still very expensive and corrupt compared to tap water. Also, bottled water companies have great impacts of producing and distributing millions of gallons of water on global warming. Many cities of California are suffering from the devastating drought and Nestles pumping and Sacramento is amongst the top. In the state of California, the city of Sacramento is feeling the outcome of the water pumping by Nestle, as well as the drought. Sacramento has reached its Fourth year of this record braking drought, but this is not stopping Nestle from pumping water into water bottles and selling it to the public for profit. In Britain, the British Broadcasting Corporation, also known as the BBC, usurped the radio business in England, filling radiowaves with various programs pertinent to British life. However, by the time the Second World War came to fruition, the BBC claimed English media and turned it into the most essential source of wartime media. England constituted itself of these regions, as well as Britain. Various media methods allowed for regional contribution, but most importantly, for the sake of auxiliary linguistics, Wales and Scotland produced broadcasts in Welsh and Gaelic, respectively (Hajkowski 122). In allowing for synchronicity in England, it became essential for the BBC to focus not solely on the views of the Britons, but rather all the factions that made up England. The allocation of varied viewpoints indicated interests that regional lands perceived about the war and made them popular among the rest of England. This led to the BBC s contribution to the war, as it represented such. To get a better understanding on the interests of England as a whole, the people of England tuned into the programs that the BBC offered in the Empire about the regionally diverse mainland of England. Such broadcasts did not go unnoticed thus allowing for cultural syncretism to spread amongst the citizens of England. Some programs in particular helped define the ideal regionality of the BBC. For example, In Britain Now, in the midst of the war, became popular, attracting almost twenty five percent of radio listeners in Britain (Hajkowski 124). This program established itself as one of the most prolific regional media conduits through which varied broadcasts were shown. Its quality viewership and informative nature made it an efficient consolidation of the traditions in England. Although regional broadcasts had enormous success, the BBC managed to have some difficulty with the ability to broadcast regionally. In particular, the acquisition of adequate programs for all of England and the erroneous run times kept audiences minimal and made regional standing capricious in broadcasting (Hajkowski 125). Teeth are among the most distinctive (and long lasting) features of mammal species. Humans, like other mammals, are diphyodont, meaning that they develop two sets of teeth. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Depending on the extent of tooth destruction, various treatments can be used to restore teeth to proper form, function, and aesthetics, but there is no known method to regenerate large amounts of tooth structure. Instead, dental health organizations advocate preventive and prophylactic measures, such as regular oral hygiene and dietary modifications, to avoid dental caries. Causes There are four main criteria required for caries formation: a tooth surface (enamel or dentin); caries causing bacteria; fermentable carbohydrates (such as sucrose); and time. The caries process does not have an inevitable outcome, and different individuals will be susceptible to different degrees depending on the shape of their teeth, oral hygiene habits, and the buffering capacity of their saliva. Dental caries can occur on any surface of a tooth that is exposed to the oral cavity, but not the structures that are retained within the bone. All caries occurs from acid demineralization that exceeds saliva and fluoride remineralization, and almost all acid demineralization occurs where food (containing carbohydrate like sugar) is left on teeth. Though most trapped food is left between teeth, over 80% of cavities occur inside pits and fissures on chewing surfaces where brushing, fluoride, and saliva cannot reach to remineralize the tooth as they do on easy to reach surfaces that develop few cavities. The Cell Membrane Transport Lab INTRODUCTION In the cell membrane transport lab, there were many experiments that were done such as osmosis, diffusion in a gel, diffusion in a liquid, diffusion in air, and filtration, A cell membrane transport lab is done to understand the different ways of transport and why they are all important since it relates to the human body. Osmosis occurs when a fluid, that s most likely water, passes through a semipermeable membrane. The tonicity of the solutions on both sides of the semipermeable membrane determines the outcome. It s possible to use osmosis to sort blood cells by using a hypotonic solution to deplete blood cells to distinguish and sort out the differences (Parichehreh et al 2011). The tonicity of the blood and the cells can determine the health of the body, where your body can be dehydrated to hydrate enough. Variables in this experiment is the cell when it crenates or hemolyzes until the solutions on either sides of the semipermeable membrane reaches equilibrium. If tonicity affects osmosis, then exposing a dialysis membrane full of cytoplasmic solution (containing glucose, albumin, NaCl, and starch) in an environment solution (deionized water) will cause the cell to swell and gain weight due to being a hypertonic solution and will result in glucose and NaCl passing through the semipermeable membrane and leave the cell since the particles of glucose and NaCl are small, leaving osmosis to occur until the two solutions reaches equilibrium. Doctrine of Foreign Policy Constructed by U.S. Presidents There were many presidents of the United States that were able to construct doctrines during their presidency terms in office that defined their individual foreign policy goals and/or aims. Just to name a few there was the Monroe Doctrine of 1823, Truman Doctrine 1947 and the Reagan Doctrine of 1984. For example, the Monroe Doctrine was constructed for two main reasons: 1) John Adams, Secretary of State, suggested the principle that the Western hemisphere was not an option for any further colonization by the European powers and 2) the U.S. would defend the freedom of other nations. The Monroe Doctrine proved its power in the 1900 s when President Roosevelt enforced the doctrine during the Venezuela Border Dispute as well as securing the independence of Cuba from the abusive Spanish rule. During his Presidency, The Ronald Reagan Doctrine was a foreign policy in the United States from 1980 to 1991. The doctrine was to help eliminate communist governments such as Latin America, Africa and Asia which were supported by the Soviet Union (Lagon, 1994). The plan was to implement support to private and open guerilla and resistance movements that were supported by the Soviet in communist countries.
