The Nazis And The Nazi Regime
The Nazis, who came to power with the leader Adolf Hitler in Germany in January 1933, believed in a
radical genetic restricting of society where ethnic cleansing of Jews was the main priority. Nazi
regime wanted to make German Aryan race superior and the Jews were considered inferior within
German racial community. The Holocaust was state sponsored organized oppression and homicide of
six million Jews by the Nazi regime. During the era of the Holocaust, German authorities also targeted
other groups, and the process involved, the sterilization of those thought to be social misfits, the
killing of the disabled, homosexuals and Roma, the enslaving of Slavs and the selective dispensing of
welfare according to interpretations of genetic worth (Finaldi, 96). After Nazis took over the
government in Germany, their National Socialist government established concentration camps for
their political opponents. However, before the outbreak of war, Nazi officials started using these
camps for incarceration of Jews, and other victims of racial and ethnic hatred. Millions of innocent
people were murdered just because of their ethnic or racial differences, however, thousands were
lucky enough to survive from Nazi tyranny.
Schindler s List by Steven Spielberg is one of the greatest films that has ever been filmed. It
emphasizes the characteristics of Nazi regime, and not only portrays the Holocaust, but it also
awakens human emotions and gives hope to the humanity. The entire film

Abstract: the open nature of the wireless medium leaves it vulnerable to drive or wedge packets
forcibly into a tight position referred as squeeze. This intentional interference with wireless
transmissions can be used as a launch pad for mounting Denial of Service attacks on wireless
networks typically; squeeze has been addressed under an external threat model. However, person with
depth knowledge of internet protocol specifications and network secrets can launch low effort squeeze
attacks that are difficult to detect and counter. In these attacks, the adversary is active only for a short
period of time, selectively targeting messages of high importance. We illustrate the advantages of
selective squeeze in terms of network performance degradation and adversary effort by presenting two
case studies; a selective attack on TCP and one on routing. In this work, we address the problem of
selective squeeze attacks in wireless networks. We show that selective squeeze attacks can be
launched by performing real time packet classification at the physical layer. To reduce these attacks,
we develop three schemes that prevent real time packet classification by combining cryptographic
primitives with physical layer attributes. We

Essay On Tulsa Race Riot
Tulsa Race Riot
Have you ever said that you wanted to start a riot, and people have responded by saying that s not
funny? Well here s why they say that. On May 31, 1921 a riot occurred in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It all
happened when Dick Rowland (an African American) was accused of raping a white woman named
Sarah Page in an elevator, when Rowland had tripped and grabbed her arm by accident. A salesclerk
overheard the scream and called the police. Rowland was arrested. There were angry whites that were
outside the courtroom protesting for Rowland to be lynched. The violence started for some people on
May 31, 1921 and went on until June 1, 1921. 1265 homes, dozens of office buildings, restaurants,
churches and schools had been destroyed during this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There could be some resentment that might cause these reparations to fail, but the commission has
hope that this would work. For the charges to be dropped from the Rowland cases has already
happened so that is one start to restoring the injustice in this town of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The restoration of the homes, churches, schools, etc., there needs to be commitment from both
contributors that they will build them safely, and durable and not do a whack job on them. They need
to be constructed so they feel like this dumb riot never happened.
For the acceptance to work, both races need to be willing to see everyone as equal and not somebody
they can kill because they don t like the color of their skin or how they talk or something dumb like
that.
The commission hopes that these recommendations will be put into action and that it will bring peace
in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hopefully this will bring races together and bring justice to the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Co-Marketing
cases, co marketing is not enough to enter a foreign market. This is why expansion in joint ventures
are more successful than co marketing agreement.
A successful joint venture must increase the value of its individual partners. Additionally, if the joint
venture is highly reliant on one of the partners and mostly building value in that partner, there is going
to be an opportunity for the others to connect their equity in the joint venture that is the key partner of
the venture. This kind of events cannot take place in co marketing so it makes joint venture beneficial
for all partners that are tied to the joint venture.
There are also disadvantages of joint ventures against co marketing

For Heart, the digestibility of the targeted assets, itself a function of the size and organizational
structure of the firm that owns them, is the crucial determinant of the choice between joint ventures
and acquisitions (Hennart S. , 1997). Digestibility is also a determinant of the choice that is made
when firms are not sure whether to choose joint ventures or acquisitions. while Balakrishnan and Koza
are concerned with transaction costs in the market for firms, Heart s focus is on the costs of integrating
the target firm s labor force (what has been called the post acquisition integration problem). (Hennart

understand how the logical decision can be made.
There are 4 types of exact reasons why to choose joint ventures over acquisitions, invisibilities,

Home Ownership Is The American Dream !
Introduction
Home ownership is the American dream! It is one of the most costly purchases an individual or family
can make in their lifetime. Some people save until they have cash to purchase however, many people
borrow money from a bank or lending institution; when a person borrows money to purchase a home
the loan is called a mortgage. The lender is called the mortgagee and the borrower is called the
mortgagor; banks have several different types of mortgages: fixed rate mortgage, adjustable rate
mortgage, investment mortgage and much more. Borrowers have to undergo the lender underwriting
process to show financial capability of repaying the mortgage (Makarov Plantin, 2013). In this article I
will use a fictitious person named Julianna, she is in the process of buying her first home at age 30; I
will be her lender and will use mathematical procedures to find out what is her down payment,
principle, installment payment, points (closing cost), mortgage maturity value and total interest paid.
Background
Julianna s real estate agent found her a home costing $600,000 in Queens, New York; she liked the
property and signed a contract to purchase and deposited $5,000. She is now left with a balance due of
$600,000 subtract $5,000 equal $595,000. She ordered an appraisal and it stated that the market value
of the property was $550,000. The appraiser found 3 properties almost identical in the area that was
recently sold; the 1rst was sold for $500,000, 2nd $550,000 and the

Perth Royal Show Essay
Traffic and Congestion: To mitigate and prevent the risk of traffic and congestion surrounding the
event venue, organisers of the Perth Royal Show strongly encourages attendees to take public
transport, particularly trains. In order to accommodate the large number of people expected to take
public transport and prevent these services from becoming overwhelmed additional trains on the
Fremantle Line and special designated trains direct to the Showgrounds station were implemented by
Transperth ( Getting to the Show, 2015). There were also additional Transperth transit officers present
at both Perth train station and the showgrounds station to direct crowds to the correct trains and ensure
the calm and efficient flow of patrons through the transport service. Bad Weather: As the event runs
from late September to early October, this is a time of year where bad weather such as rain is
expected. In such instances the event usually goes ahead, but outdoor activities such as some of the
rides may be closed for safety. In the event of a very severe storm, the event would likely be
postponed in order to ensure the safety of everyone involved. The event alleviates the effect
postponing the event has by allowing all event tickets purchased to be valid once for any day during
the length of the show so patrons do not have to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Media Science And The Abortion Debate
Abortion has always been a controversial topic whether abortion should be legalized or not for a quite
some time. It has sparked numerous debates in many countries around the world. In most countries,
abortion is legalized, yet however, there are some countries which don t allow women to have
abortions. Additionally, if done, the women will be punished by the law severely. In my belief, I don t
think abortion should be banned, even though it s not healthy for women and their development
(reproductive wise). The consequences and results coming from not allowing abortion would lead to
many women not being able to take care of her child, and more importantly, not giving her children a
normal and healthy life. In this situation, if the government does not allow abortion, then the children
of these women children might end up becoming socially inept, leading to depression or certain
mental illnesses due to the lack of love and care from their parents. ... Show more content on

Neoconservative And Discrimination Against Gays And...
People may not notice little things that others do or say. Something as small as calling someone gay
because they identify themselves as homosexual, could emotionally traumatize them. Examples of
these issues are LGBTQ+ working in a labour intensive employment, and is treated as weak or unfit
for the position, thus being looked down upon. For centuries, people follow the stereotype that people
of a different gender or sexual identity are looked down upon and considered outliers of the society.
Our group will go in depth and demonstrate examples of discrimination against LGBTQ+ in the
workforce, by first analyzing the root of this problem. A few questions that we will evaluating are: if
people dislike LGBTQ+ in the workforce because they are homosexuals, or because they are lacking
in skill, education, experience etc. Second question that ties with the root of the issue is to find out
why majority of people discriminate individuals that identify as LGBTQ+ homosexuals. Lastly, our
group will be explaining different point of views of this issue. We will be using a variety of
frameworks that we have learned in class such as viewing the social problem with a Neoliberal,
Neoconservative and transformative outlook to analyze the social problem. Topics that we can analyze
using these frameworks, include who is at fault or who is to blame within the social problem, how
each framework would try to resolve the social problem, and what are some things that each
framework can do

The Classroom That I Completed My Field Experience Essay
The classroom that I completed my field experience in was a self contained ninth through twelfth
grade. The class consists of four male students, a teacher, and two paraprofessionals. The students in
the classroom have severe behaviors that do not allow them to be successful in a regular classroom. I
completed the observation over a period of four days. The first day that I went to observe was in the
morning from 8:30 to 9:30. When I arrived, the students were leaving the cafeteria from eating
breakfast. Once they got to the classroom, they unpacked their backpacks, putting their agendas and
folders into a basket on that is on the teacher s desk. The students then sat down at their desk and
began working on the morning journal. The journal topic for the day was What is your favorite
subject? Why? One of the students wrote his journal within ten minutes, while it took the other
students about thirty minutes for them to complete the journal. One of the students in the class kept
getting out of his seat to come and talk to the teacher and paraprofessional. He wanted them to take a
picture of him. They would tell him no and that he needed to return to his seat. He sat there for the
whole thirty minutes and only wrote a few words down on his paper. Asking to have his picture taken
is something that he asked them about ten or more times a day. At 9:00, the paraprofessional
transitioned the students into a Language Arts lesson. The class uses Unique Learning for

Group Project Reflection
Throughout my years in graduate school, I found myself with many opportunities to work on group
projects. I always found these projects to be a rewarding experience because it was not only an
opportunity to contribute my experience and ideas to the project but also listen to experience and ideas
of my teammates. However, working on a group project also meant making sure to examine the work
of my teammates and vice versa. So for each group assignment, I always made sure to follow certain
guidelines I laid out for myself in order to get the assignment completed.
1. Ask questions especially if I needed a teammate to clarify what they needed from me or if I not sure
about what they wrote.

The Lowell Work Force, And The Social Origins Of Women...
The first article was chapter three, The Lowell Work Force, 1836, and the Social Origins of Women
Workers from the book, Women at Work: The Transformation of Work and Community in Lowell,
Massachusetts, 1826 1860, written by Thomas Dublin. It paralleled nicely with the article I chose
which was, I Think Less of the Factory than of my Native Dell Labor, Nature, and the Lowell Mill
Girls from Environmental History, by Chad Montrie. The article, The Lowell Work Force primarily
discussed what type of people, predominately women, worked in the Lowell mill. The information
was neither new nor surprising for me. I had been to the Lowell Mill museum before and most the
information there was in the article. The women were young women, from farming families, not yet
married and mostly native born women, not immigrants. What did surprise me was why they chose to
work. I would have guessed that they worked to earn wages to send home to help support their
families, yet, that was rarely the case. Moving away did lighten the family burden; however, that is not
why these women left. They moved to work in a factory so they could earn wages and use them for
nonessential things, things that they wanted, not needed. For many, the appeal of this might have been
from the fact that growing up on a farm with limited money, clothes were always homespun and they
had few, if any, frivolous things. For example, Sally Rice left home to earn something of my own,
which was obviously not

Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
The books are to remind us what fools we are (Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451). Book Burning has been
around ever since books have. All throughout history from biblical to modern time book have been
burned. Rarely are books burned for no reason, some of the most common reasons books are burned
for religiously or politically. However is burning books good or bad for society? Whether if book
burning is good or bad depends on how you see the reason they are being burned. There are many
ways that book burning is good but many that are bad. In some ways book burning can be good. As
appointed in Ray Bradbury s novel Fahrenheit 451 many of the characters point out that books consist
of the real facts along with the truth about life that are good and bad. When somebody burns a book in
their eyes and opinion it could be a good reason while to other it can be reason that makes no logical
sense. Some reasons certain people may see it fit to burn books is because the books in their eyes are
offensive or against their views, beliefs and values. In this case of book burning the person or group of
people that are offended by this book are no longer offended and then can therefore live better socially
because they re no longer offended or embarrassed. This can range from religious books to older
books about times of inequality of two types of people or nationality. Another reason would be
because someone who is in charge of a group of people or even a country they would like to control

Reddit is mostly responsible for launching the image hosting website into the forefront however, it s

SmugMug is still a relative underdog. It does not have a giant community like Imgur or Flickr.

Imgur is great for the average Reddit neckbeard, but there s more to life than just posting dank memes
on Reddit. Some people actually want to contribute their art online and perhaps even make a profit
from it. Smug Mug lets photographers create custom galleries to show off your work in a unique way.

In this paper, we aim to fill what we, as researchers and teachers in qualitative psychology, have
experienced as a current gap: the absence of a paper which adequately outlines the theory, application,
and evaluation of thematic analysis, and one which does so in a way accessible to students and those
not particularly familiar with qualitative research. 1 That is, we aim to write a paper which will be
useful as both a teaching and research tool in qualitative psychology. Therefore, in this paper we
discuss theory and method for thematic analysis, and clarify the similarities and differences between
different approaches that share features in common with a thematic approach.
Qualitative approaches are incredibly diverse, complex and nuanced (Holloway Todres, 2003), and
thematic analysis should be seen as a foundational method for qualitative analysis. It is the first
qualitative method of analysis that researchers should learn, as it provides core skills that will be
useful for conducting many other forms of qualitative analysis. Indeed, Holloway and Todres (2003:
347) identify thematizing meanings as one of a few shared generic skills across qualitative analysis.2
For this reason, Boyatzis (1998) characterises it not as a specific method but as a tool to use across
different methods. Similarly, Ryan and Bernard (2000) locate thematic coding as a process performed
within „major‟ analytic traditions (such as grounded theory), rather than a

behind his suspension were allegations on the grounds of domestic violence. Though the charges were

Examples Of Stoism In The Movie Gladiator
This is because Stoicism teaches us that, before we try to control events, we must control ourselves
first. Our attempts to exert influence on the world are subject to chance, disappointment, and failure
but control of the self is the only kind that can succeed 100% of the time. Leaders have found that a
Stoic attitude earns them respect in the face of failure, and guards against arrogance in the face of
success. In the movie Gladiator we see this tactic from Maximus Decimus Meridius who shows stoic
qualities demonstrated by prominent followers of the Ancient Greek principle. Although he is a

quietly does as he is ordered. Maximus is strong enough

Heart Rate Variability ( Hrv )
Heart rate variability (HRV) is quickly becoming a buzz word in fitness, but in reality this is a very old
technology. Dating back to at least 1948 (15) HRV has been a commonly used method in research and
is an accepted diagnostic tool in several diseases/conditions, such as post traumatic stress disorder and
type 2 diabetes (9, 23).
HRV was, until recently, a tool that was confined to clinical and research settings, largely due to the
prohibitively high cost of equipment. Recent advances in technology, particularly among heart rate
monitors and smartphone based apps, have now made this technology available to fitness
professionals and health/fitness consumers.
HRV is derived from mathematical properties of cardiac inter beat intervals or what is referred to as a
R R interval. This inter beat interval represents tiny changes in the timing (i.e. fractions of a second)
from one heart beat to the next. Intuitively it would seem that a heart rate of 60 bpm would have
exactly 1 second between each beat. It even seems reasonable that a very metronomic or steady heart
rate would be indicative of health and/or fitness. In fact, just the opposite is true. A healthy
cardiovascular control system will have a high level of complexity, or variability, while an aged, unfit
or diseased system will show a loss of complexity or variability (21).
HRV testing is an exquisitely sensitive tool that is capable of providing us with important health and
fitness based information across

The Botany Of Desire By Michael Pollen
The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollen uses examples of four plants including the apple ,tulip,
marijuana, and the potato, to describe evolution and how mankind works to help plants reproduce. We
are a slave to things of sweetness, beauty, intoxication, and control. These four things are described by
the different plant chapters in the book. We as people are driven to these kind of things because of the
product we get, we subconsciously are working to make these plants more fit and therefore helping in
their reproduction and evolution. With each plant chapter Pollen goes into depth about its contribution
to the world and history behind the plant within human evolution. By using the examples he provides
in the book helps demonstrate the ideas of how these plants contribute to the human body systems,
evolution and ecology. To further explain these topics I chose to explore the apple, tulip and cannabis
plants.
The consumption of the apple is involved in two different body systems: the digestive system and the
nervous system. The digestive system has the function of getting nutrients into the body. The apple is
an edible substance that is consumed through the mouth. Teeth cut food into smaller pieces and then is
pushed into the esophagus, being passed by muscle contractions called penistalsis. The chewed up
apple ends up in the stomach where the gastric juices that break down connective tissue in food and
digests protein into amino acids. The apple continues to make

Classification of mental disorders keeps improving and changing over time with the goal of providing
more accurate diagnosis and proper intervention. As guides for clinician, the formal Diagnostic
Statistical Manual has categorical description of a variety of illnesses that are classified based on
symptoms (Kite, Gullifer Tyson, 2012). Recently, the new version of the DSM raises many
controversies since it suggests merging Asperger syndrome into the category of autism disorder to
reduce confusion and therefore eliminating their differentiation. Their common diagnosis would now

High functioning autism in adulthood without delay in language development is similar to adult who

anatomic structure of the brain finds out that autism and Asperger could be cause by abnormalities in
mini columnar organization and suggests that they may share similar biological pattern regardless the

more dispersed cells than normal functioning individuals. Given this clinical overlap between the two

Military Ethics Essay
The ethical problem is roots in the culture, so solve this problem is inevitable. While the alcohol
consumption is part of our social life, the soldiers cannot avoid it. First recommendation is the
maintaining the chain of command. The commander should assign the chain of command if alcohol
related event occurs in order to maintain the continuous leadership in the unit. He or she should give
the temporary authority to the next leader in the chain while the alcohol s effect disappears from the
commander s body. This measurement could prevent lot of previously mentioned negative effect, such
as decision making and using authority while intoxicated or mind altering state. The next

In conclusion, alcohol consuming in duty is an old visible ethical problem in the HDF, but it needs
some steps to reduce the dangerous outcomes to the unit and the civilian connection too. There were
three big topic, the root causes, the effect to the troops and finally the recommendation to take action
correct the problem. The root causes are the lack of regulation. The Hungarian laws reject the alcohol
drinking only in labor safety aspect; they do not rule the leadership aspect of the mind altering
substances. The other root cause is the operational area, in

Plato s Apology And Ralph Waldo Emerson s On Self Reliance
Through Plato s Apology and Ralph Waldo Emerson s Self Reliance both contend that living an
unexamined life is living a life of ignorance and futility. On the other hand, living an examined life is
living an enlightened life full of intelligence. I agree with Plato and Emerson s similar ideas that
without knowledge, life as it is, is not worth living. They both argue that having personal beliefs
creates an intelligent society. Having knowledge allows for one to set goals and objectives to achieve
within a lifetime, which gives purpose to one s life. In Plato s Apology , Plato tells the story of
Socrates, a philosopher from Athens, Greece, who is accused by three men, a poet, a scholar and a
politician for having opposing beliefs. His charges are all based on the fact that he is a natural
philosopher and that he believes what is considered not to be the social norm. One of the charges he
faces is that he is accused of being a doer of evil, and corrupts the youth (Plato, 198). Socrates is
assumed to be someone who only harms others because he is considered to be evil. They admit that
since he does not care to accept what they consider to be true, then he must be doing evil. Socrates is
charged with corrupting the youth with his knowledge, yet when he addresses it to his accusers and
the court, he questions the charge by stating that if Meletus, his accuser, is charging him of corrupting
the youth then, Come hither. Meletus, and let me ask a question of you. You

Antony And Cleopatra Comparison Essay
Antony and Cleopatra share a passionate love story, mixing business with pleasure. This results in an
inner conflict developing within Antony between what he perceives to be his two identities: the lover
and the general. Throughout the play, the lover is associated with death, whilst the general is
associated with Antony s sword and armor. Though he believes the two parts of him to be separate, the
text indicates that Antony is both lover and general at the same time through all of it. The difference in
the two identities lies in the accountability. As a general, Antony is accountable to everyone and no
one. His actions do not fall onto Caesar, thus he is accountable to no one, but his soldiers rely on him

Antony appears to be the one in the relationship trying to keep things afloat and joyous, whilst
Cleopatra enjoys testing him and his love for her. In the beginning of the play, not long after the
couple is introduced, Cleopatra comments on Antony having married Fulvia and answering Caesar,
suggesting he has to leave and should leave. Antony, recognizing this as one of her many tests, tells
her for the love of Love and her soft hours, / [They should] not confound the time with conference

Cleopatra and Antony are truly in charge of their relationship, and can affect the dynamic as they

is her lover, reproaching him for being married to Fulvia and falling under Caesar s leadership. She
shows this well when commenting on what news a messenger has likely brought Antony: Where s
Fulvia s process? Caesar s, I would say both? . By bringing up his duties to his wife and Caesar,
Cleopatra is testing Antony s love for her by holding him accountable for his actions. Thus, as a

How Long Should A Roof Fail Essay
Homeowners often ask the question, how long should a roof last? , yet there is no simple answer to
this query. Numerous factors play a role in the lifespan of a roof, from the type of shingles selected,
the climate in which the residence is located and roof maintenance. Sadly, many homeowners have a
new roof put on the home, then forget about it until a problem arises. They fail to inspect the roof

this category. With proper roof maintenance, a homeowner can feel secure, knowing their home is

How Long Should A Roof Last?
The average roof, one constructed with asphalt shingles, should last a minimum of 20 to 25 years in
the event it is properly maintained. As the vast majority of homes in the United States currently have
an asphalt shingle roof, this applies to most homes. Metal roofs tend to be extremely durable and can
last 40 years or more, while tile roofs have an average lifespan of 50 years. Invest in a slat roof and it

Analysis of Alice Munro s How I Met My Husband
All of it is clear to a person who has understanding and right to those who have acquired knowledge.
(Proverbs 8:6 9)
Alice Munro gives a good example of the meaning of this in her story How I Met My Husband . The
theme of this story is under certain circumstances people can sometimes be blind to the truth.
The main character, Edie, provides the narration of the story from a first person point of view. She
tells her story based on an event from her past. Because she narrates the story the reader is unable to
be sure if what she tells of the other characters is completely accurate. Because one does not hear

She was very responsible for her age because she took care of the Peebleses two children and of their
house. Yet, she was uneducated and did not know much about love or boys. She told of how she
longed for a boyfriend or someone to kiss. Sometimes when you want things bad enough you begin to
believe they are true. For example, because Edie really wanted someone to love her, she really
believed Chris would send her a letter. However, if she would have examined his prior actions, like
how he treated Alice, Edie could have come to the conclusion that there would be no letter.
Another character important in the story was Chris. He was a soldier in the war. Supposedly, he was
engaged to Alice but from the way he treated her, one would question it. Also, he was cowardly
because he ran away from her rather than telling her how he truly felt, he said, ...A plane can get
further than a car . Also, the reader may believe he is running away from his feelings because of
something deeper. Maybe the war had injured him emotionally or mentally. These factors will
definitely make it hard to discover what is true.
Also, the character of Alice has some interesting meaning to the story. The character of Alice may be
modeled after the author Alice Munro because they have shared similar experiences between men.
Apparently, the author had been through a divorce and many of the

three. Finally, he was put in foster care and his football career took off. All the while a man named
Kevin Lahn had been helping Shariff financially, giving him money for food, providing him with
shelter and a car. The NCAA, however ruled that Shariff must pay him back, even though he had no
means to raise that money. The story of Shariff Floyd appeals to the emotional side of people, giving
this proposal the support it would need. Emotional appeals have a great deal to do with how people
will react.
For the second mode, I chose to record a video. Instead of arguing for the NCAA to implement a
salary cap, I used the video to propose the idea of college sports becoming a free market system.
Encapsulating every miniscule detail led me to believe a power point presentation and a video were
the logical choice. After completing them, the combined word count was way under what I estimated.
Due to this complication, I chose to scrap the video and write a paper instead. The paper allowed a
more in depth view into what a free market would entail for a university and the NCAA. To appeal to
a broader audience, I used graphics and an emotional story of a specific player. The story was of Ben
McLemore. Using his story helped the audience

The Chernobyl Disaster And Its Effects On The United States
Three Mile Island As humans we want to have a good life, have a home, maybe a family and feel safe.
With the advances in industry such as energy production we can have more luxuries which include
heat, lights and running water. However, as technology gets bigger and better there will always be
risks that can lead to catastrophic outcomes. Luckily for the United States; we did not have a
disastrous outcome with a nuclear power plant such as the 1986 s Chernobyl Nuclear Power plant
catastrophe, making, the Chernobyl disaster the only level 7 incident on the International Nuclear
Event Scales (INES) making it the biggest man made disaster of all time (List 25, 2014) . Three Mile
Island power plants is located near Middletown Pennsylvania. On March 28, 1979, the plant had a
partial meltdown. Even though the Three Mile Island power plant incident did not have any adverse
health effects, Three Mile Island had an impact on the nuclear industry development and politically in
the United States.
To understand the Three Mile Island incident, a background knowledge is needed. What is a nuclear
power plant? Nuclear power plants are energy producing facilities. The energy is produced in a
nuclear reactor located in the facility. The plants use heat generated from nuclear fission which occurs
in a contained area and in which water is converted to steam. Nuclear fission is the division of a
nucleus in two approximate equal masses. When this process is completed a release of a large

Why Did Dwight D. Eisenhower Use The Military Industrial...
On January 17, 1961 President Dwight D. Eisenhower delivered his farewell address to the nation, his
final public speech as President of the United States. As such it was his last opportunity to address the
nation, on any subject of his choice, with the authority, prestige and preeminence that comes with the
office of President of the United States. His choice, what he termed the Military Industrial Complex,
was perhaps something that at the time did not register in the mind of the average American as a
priority when placed along the topics of the Communism, the Cold War and nuclear war. Yet, as it
turns out the issue regarding the Military Industrial Complex and Eisenhower s warnings about it have
outlasted the fears of the mid 20th century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This partnership inherently erodes the safeguards and checks intended to exist over each group by
placing the key to the well being of one party in the hands of the other eliminating any incentive to
perform each party s duty in favor of self preservation. As it plays out, the arms industry places its
manufacturing centers in key congressional districts such that they ensure congressional approval and
contracts by playing on the limitation of the democratic system. Because each representative in these
districts has to be reelected to office, each election cycle produces the possibility of being voted out of
office. One essential component in a reelection bid is to ensure the economic prosperity of the
electorate, therefore if a congressmen were to limit, reduce or in any way infringe on the arms industry
they would risk the economic sufficiency of their electorate and with it diminish their possibility of
reelection. Thus, a mutual benefit between Congress and the arms industry

  • 2. The Nazis And The Nazi Regime The Nazis, who came to power with the leader Adolf Hitler in Germany in January 1933, believed in a radical genetic restricting of society where ethnic cleansing of Jews was the main priority. Nazi regime wanted to make German Aryan race superior and the Jews were considered inferior within German racial community. The Holocaust was state sponsored organized oppression and homicide of six million Jews by the Nazi regime. During the era of the Holocaust, German authorities also targeted other groups, and the process involved, the sterilization of those thought to be social misfits, the killing of the disabled, homosexuals and Roma, the enslaving of Slavs and the selective dispensing of welfare according to interpretations of genetic worth (Finaldi, 96). After Nazis took over the government in Germany, their National Socialist government established concentration camps for their political opponents. However, before the outbreak of war, Nazi officials started using these camps for incarceration of Jews, and other victims of racial and ethnic hatred. Millions of innocent people were murdered just because of their ethnic or racial differences, however, thousands were lucky enough to survive from Nazi tyranny. Schindler s List by Steven Spielberg is one of the greatest films that has ever been filmed. It emphasizes the characteristics of Nazi regime, and not only portrays the Holocaust, but it also awakens human emotions and gives hope to the humanity. The entire film ... Packet Hiding Methods For Avoiding Attacks Packet Hiding methods For Avoiding Attacks R.Roopini M.Tech, Software Engineering Ganapathy Engineering College , Hunter Raod ,Warangal Mr.K.Ranjith Khanna Assistant Professor, Department of CSE Ganapathy Engineering College , Hunter Raod ,Warangal Abstract: the open nature of the wireless medium leaves it vulnerable to drive or wedge packets forcibly into a tight position referred as squeeze. This intentional interference with wireless transmissions can be used as a launch pad for mounting Denial of Service attacks on wireless networks typically; squeeze has been addressed under an external threat model. However, person with depth knowledge of internet protocol specifications and network secrets can launch low effort squeeze attacks that are difficult to detect and counter. In these attacks, the adversary is active only for a short period of time, selectively targeting messages of high importance. We illustrate the advantages of selective squeeze in terms of network performance degradation and adversary effort by presenting two case studies; a selective attack on TCP and one on routing. In this work, we address the problem of selective squeeze attacks in wireless networks. We show that selective squeeze attacks can be launched by performing real time packet classification at the physical layer. To reduce these attacks, we develop three schemes that prevent real time packet classification by combining cryptographic primitives with physical layer attributes. We ... On May 31, 1921 a riot occurred in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It all happened when Dick Rowland (an African American) was accused of raping a white woman named Sarah Page in an elevator, when Rowland had tripped and grabbed her arm by accident. A salesclerk overheard the scream and called the police. Rowland was arrested. There were angry whites that were outside the courtroom protesting for Rowland to be lynched. For the charges to be dropped from the Rowland cases has already happened so that is one start to restoring the injustice in this town of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The restoration of the homes, churches, schools, etc., there needs to be commitment from both contributors that they will build them safely, and durable and not do a whack job on them. They need to be constructed so they feel like this dumb riot never happened. For the acceptance to work, both races need to be willing to see everyone as equal and not somebody they can kill because they don t like the color of their skin or how they talk or something dumb like that. This is why expansion in joint ventures are more successful than co marketing agreement. A successful joint venture must increase the value of its individual partners. Additionally, if the joint venture is highly reliant on one of the partners and mostly building value in that partner, there is going to be an opportunity for the others to connect their equity in the joint venture that is the key partner of the venture. For Heart, the digestibility of the targeted assets, itself a function of the size and organizational structure of the firm that owns them, is the crucial determinant of the choice between joint ventures and acquisitions (Hennart S. , 1997). • 6. Home Ownership Is The American Dream ! Introduction Home ownership is the American dream! It is one of the most costly purchases an individual or family can make in their lifetime. Some people save until they have cash to purchase however, many people borrow money from a bank or lending institution; when a person borrows money to purchase a home the loan is called a mortgage. The lender is called the mortgagee and the borrower is called the mortgagor; banks have several different types of mortgages: fixed rate mortgage, adjustable rate mortgage, investment mortgage and much more. Borrowers have to undergo the lender underwriting process to show financial capability of repaying the mortgage (Makarov Plantin, 2013). In this article I will use a fictitious person named Julianna, she is in the process of buying her first home at age 30; I will be her lender and will use mathematical procedures to find out what is her down payment, principle, installment payment, points (closing cost), mortgage maturity value and total interest paid. Background Julianna s real estate agent found her a home costing $600,000 in Queens, New York; she liked the property and signed a contract to purchase and deposited $5,000. She is now left with a balance due of $600,000 subtract $5,000 equal $595,000. She ordered an appraisal and it stated that the market value of the property was $550,000. Perth Royal Show Essay Traffic and Congestion: To mitigate and prevent the risk of traffic and congestion surrounding the event venue, organisers of the Perth Royal Show strongly encourages attendees to take public transport, particularly trains. In order to accommodate the large number of people expected to take public transport and prevent these services from becoming overwhelmed additional trains on the Fremantle Line and special designated trains direct to the Showgrounds station were implemented by Transperth ( Getting to the Show, 2015). There were also additional Transperth transit officers present at both Perth train station and the showgrounds station to direct crowds to the correct trains and ensure the calm and efficient flow of patrons through the transport service. Bad Weather: As the event runs from late September to early October, this is a time of year where bad weather such as rain is expected. It has sparked numerous debates in many countries around the world. In most countries, abortion is legalized, yet however, there are some countries which don t allow women to have abortions. Additionally, if done, the women will be punished by the law severely. In my belief, I don t think abortion should be banned, even though it s not healthy for women and their development (reproductive wise). The consequences and results coming from not allowing abortion would lead to many women not being able to take care of her child, and more importantly, not giving her children a normal and healthy life. • 9. Neoconservative And Discrimination Against Gays And... People may not notice little things that others do or say. Something as small as calling someone gay because they identify themselves as homosexual, could emotionally traumatize them. Examples of these issues are LGBTQ+ working in a labour intensive employment, and is treated as weak or unfit for the position, thus being looked down upon. For centuries, people follow the stereotype that people of a different gender or sexual identity are looked down upon and considered outliers of the society. Our group will go in depth and demonstrate examples of discrimination against LGBTQ+ in the workforce, by first analyzing the root of this problem. A few questions that we will evaluating are: if people dislike LGBTQ+ in the workforce because they are homosexuals, or because they are lacking in skill, education, experience etc. Second question that ties with the root of the issue is to find out why majority of people discriminate individuals that identify as LGBTQ+ homosexuals. Lastly, our group will be explaining different point of views of this issue. We will be using a variety of frameworks that we have learned in class such as viewing the social problem with a Neoliberal, Neoconservative and transformative outlook to analyze the social problem. Topics that we can analyze using these frameworks, include who is at fault or who is to blame within the social problem, how each framework would try to resolve the social problem, and what are some things that each framework can do ... The class consists of four male students, a teacher, and two paraprofessionals. The students in the classroom have severe behaviors that do not allow them to be successful in a regular classroom. I completed the observation over a period of four days. The first day that I went to observe was in the morning from 8:30 to 9:30. When I arrived, the students were leaving the cafeteria from eating breakfast. Once they got to the classroom, they unpacked their backpacks, putting their agendas and folders into a basket on that is on the teacher s desk. The students then sat down at their desk and began working on the morning journal. The journal topic for the day was What is your favorite subject? Why? One of the students wrote his journal within ten minutes, while it took the other students about thirty minutes for them to complete the journal. One of the students in the class kept getting out of his seat to come and talk to the teacher and paraprofessional. He wanted them to take a picture of him. They would tell him no and that he needed to return to his seat. He sat there for the whole thirty minutes and only wrote a few words down on his paper. I always found these projects to be a rewarding experience because it was not only an opportunity to contribute my experience and ideas to the project but also listen to experience and ideas of my teammates. However, working on a group project also meant making sure to examine the work of my teammates and vice versa. So for each group assignment, I always made sure to follow certain guidelines I laid out for myself in order to get the assignment completed. 1. The first article was chapter three, The Lowell Work Force, 1836, and the Social Origins of Women Workers from the book, Women at Work: The Transformation of Work and Community in Lowell, Massachusetts, 1826 1860, written by Thomas Dublin. It paralleled nicely with the article I chose which was, I Think Less of the Factory than of my Native Dell Labor, Nature, and the Lowell Mill Girls from Environmental History, by Chad Montrie. The article, The Lowell Work Force primarily discussed what type of people, predominately women, worked in the Lowell mill. The information was neither new nor surprising for me. I had been to the Lowell Mill museum before and most the information there was in the article. The women were young women, from farming families, not yet married and mostly native born women, not immigrants. What did surprise me was why they chose to work. I would have guessed that they worked to earn wages to send home to help support their families, yet, that was rarely the case. Moving away did lighten the family burden; however, that is not why these women left. They moved to work in a factory so they could earn wages and use them for nonessential things, things that they wanted, not needed. For many, the appeal of this might have been from the fact that growing up on a farm with limited money, clothes were always homespun and they had few, if any, frivolous things. For example, Sally Rice left home to earn something of my own, which was obviously not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury The books are to remind us what fools we are (Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451). Book Burning has been around ever since books have. All throughout history from biblical to modern time book have been burned. Rarely are books burned for no reason, some of the most common reasons books are burned for religiously or politically. However is burning books good or bad for society? Whether if book burning is good or bad depends on how you see the reason they are being burned. There are many ways that book burning is good but many that are bad. In some ways book burning can be good. As appointed in Ray Bradbury s novel Fahrenheit 451 many of the characters point out that books consist of the real facts along with the truth about life that are good and bad. When somebody burns a book in their eyes and opinion it could be a good reason while to other it can be reason that makes no logical sense. Some reasons certain people may see it fit to burn books is because the books in their eyes are offensive or against their views, beliefs and values. In this case of book burning the person or group of people that are offended by this book are no longer offended and then can therefore live better socially because they re no longer offended or embarrassed. This can range from religious books to older books about times of inequality of two types of people or nationality. Another reason would be because someone who is in charge of a group of people or even a country they would like to control and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this paper, we aim to fill what we, as researchers and teachers in qualitative psychology, have experienced as a current gap: the absence of a paper which adequately outlines the theory, application, and evaluation of thematic analysis, and one which does so in a way accessible to students and those not particularly familiar with qualitative research. 1 That is, we aim to write a paper which will be useful as both a teaching and research tool in qualitative psychology. Therefore, in this paper we discuss theory and method for thematic analysis, and clarify the similarities and differences between different approaches that share features in common with a thematic approach. Qualitative approaches are incredibly diverse, complex and nuanced (Holloway Todres, 2003), and thematic analysis should be seen as a foundational method for qualitative analysis. It is the first qualitative method of analysis that researchers should learn, as it provides core skills that will be useful for conducting many other forms of qualitative analysis. Indeed, Holloway and Todres (2003: 347) identify thematizing meanings as one of a few shared generic skills across qualitative analysis.2 For this reason, Boyatzis (1998) characterises it not as a specific method but as a tool to use across different methods. • 22. Heart Rate Variability ( Hrv ) Heart rate variability (HRV) is quickly becoming a buzz word in fitness, but in reality this is a very old technology. Dating back to at least 1948 (15) HRV has been a commonly used method in research and is an accepted diagnostic tool in several diseases/conditions, such as post traumatic stress disorder and type 2 diabetes (9, 23). HRV was, until recently, a tool that was confined to clinical and research settings, largely due to the prohibitively high cost of equipment. Recent advances in technology, particularly among heart rate monitors and smartphone based apps, have now made this technology available to fitness professionals and health/fitness consumers. HRV is derived from mathematical properties of cardiac inter beat intervals or what is referred to as a R R interval. This inter beat interval represents tiny changes in the timing (i.e. fractions of a second) from one heart beat to the next. Intuitively it would seem that a heart rate of 60 bpm would have exactly 1 second between each beat. It even seems reasonable that a very metronomic or steady heart rate would be indicative of health and/or fitness. In fact, just the opposite is true. A healthy cardiovascular control system will have a high level of complexity, or variability, while an aged, unfit or diseased system will show a loss of complexity or variability (21). The Botany Of Desire By Michael Pollen The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollen uses examples of four plants including the apple ,tulip, marijuana, and the potato, to describe evolution and how mankind works to help plants reproduce. We are a slave to things of sweetness, beauty, intoxication, and control. These four things are described by the different plant chapters in the book. We as people are driven to these kind of things because of the product we get, we subconsciously are working to make these plants more fit and therefore helping in their reproduction and evolution. With each plant chapter Pollen goes into depth about its contribution to the world and history behind the plant within human evolution. By using the examples he provides in the book helps demonstrate the ideas of how these plants contribute to the human body systems, evolution and ecology. To further explain these topics I chose to explore the apple, tulip and cannabis plants. The consumption of the apple is involved in two different body systems: the digestive system and the nervous system. The digestive system has the function of getting nutrients into the body. The apple is an edible substance that is consumed through the mouth. Teeth cut food into smaller pieces and then is pushed into the esophagus, being passed by muscle contractions called penistalsis. On the other hand, living an examined life is living an enlightened life full of intelligence. I agree with Plato and Emerson s similar ideas that without knowledge, life as it is, is not worth living. They both argue that having personal beliefs creates an intelligent society. Having knowledge allows for one to set goals and objectives to achieve within a lifetime, which gives purpose to one s life. In Plato s Apology , Plato tells the story of Socrates, a philosopher from Athens, Greece, who is accused by three men, a poet, a scholar and a politician for having opposing beliefs. His charges are all based on the fact that he is a natural philosopher and that he believes what is considered not to be the social norm. One of the charges he faces is that he is accused of being a doer of evil, and corrupts the youth (Plato, 198). Socrates is assumed to be someone who only harms others because he is considered to be evil. They admit that since he does not care to accept what they consider to be true, then he must be doing evil. Socrates is charged with corrupting the youth with his knowledge, yet when he addresses it to his accusers and the court, he questions the charge by stating that if Meletus, his accuser, is charging him of corrupting the youth then, Come hither. She shows this well when commenting on what news a messenger has likely brought Antony: Where s Fulvia s process? Caesar s, I would say both? .
