- 1. Costume Ideas The artists in my band will wear jeans and hoodies with t-shirts. This is because this costume reflects the pop genre as they are trying to appear as cool to the female target audience. These costumes are worn by all big POP stars in their music videos, everyday life and even on the red carpet. The jeans will be blue or black which are traditional colours worn by male pop bands in the industry. The costume my band will be wearing will all be the same but they will include different colour jeans and hoodies to stand out from each other. This gives them their own unique trend which accompanies their personality. This emphasises their individuality and gives them their own set of target audiences. There will be an image of a female artist within my pop magazine, she will wear clothes that stand out from each other, for example black trousers and white top and a black and colourful jumper. She will have red or pink lipstick on her to stand out and relate to the target audience of the magazine. Her hair will be tied up in pig tails in the image to widen her appearance to all readers. To give the illusion of importance within the band, the main artist will be sat down at the front with the other two behind him. Their faces will be completely clear of all props and jewellery as it does not fit in with the image of a male pop band. The use of jeans gives the appearance they are still young and the audience can relate to them. I have chosen my band to wear these costumes as they like to the codes and conventions of the Pop music genre. My clothing will include bright vibrant colours and accessories to attract the target audience of pop magazines.
