This document provides an analysis of a mood board created for a pop music video. The mood board images represent pop icons like Taylor Swift and depict various elements including fashion, color, hairstyles, and gender. The analysis indicates the video will feature a band of 5 teenage females with two distinct looks: a classic black dress look and a casual colorful day look. Makeup will be minimal and natural focusing on beauty, while hairstyles will include waves, curls and braids. The video will have contrasting locations to show different sides of each character.

3. Evaluation
The images in the mood board represent our genre of pop, including various icons like Taylor swift, Ed Sheeran, Meghan
Trainor and Zara Larsson. The specific use of Zara Larsson demonstrates the fact that we want to create a video similar
to effect that she has created in her ‘lush life’ video. In our creation we want to use a variety of special effects that will
add colour to our performance music video. All of the images represent colour and a monotonic effect, focusing
specifically on one singular colour, creating a bold statement. The specific images in which have been chosen demonstrate
a variety of elements including fashion ideas, colour, the overall image of the artist and who is currently in Pop. From the
images at hand we can establish that colour makes a huge presence in pop, along with females having a dominant party in
Pop music. The fashion in the artists is very simplistic, but colour still being strong. However, some of the artists are
wearing black, often used in more serious or sensitive songs, showing an area of vulnerability. This is more of a soft Pop
vibe, tipping into indie and folk trends. Pop that is more colour based and very dance based is hard Pop . Many of the Pop
artists who are currently in Pop are in their late teens or early twenties, the artists that will shall use will be in their late
teens demonstrating a link between Pop and the conventions within Pop music. Pop artists in Pop are often very big and
have a huge stage presence in their videos, being very confident and involved in the video, meaning that when choosing
artists they need to be big personalities but they need to work well together, in order to harmonies but, need a different
presence in order to demonstrate an individual personality of their own.

6. Evaluation
The photos at hand represent a variety of ideas in which we want to include in our music video. The idea of having mainly
band images is the fact that we will be creating our own band. This band will consist of 5 females as the song does,
creating a authentic look that fits the vocal ideal of the song and the theme of the band. The image in which we want to
create in our video is two images, a classic little black dress look and a casual fun day look. This is due to fact the our
singers will have two images, they will have a classic look to give them sophistication, displaying them to truly embrace
their feminine and womanly side. However, we also want a day look of fun and colourful to really demonstrate their age
and show that they are appealing to other teenage girls who want to be them. This mixture of classy and fun. This still
makes them appeal grown up but an element of vulnerability as they are in fact younger than they seem. Appealing to
many girls who use make-up and clothing to seem older then they are. The make-up that they will be wearing is very
minimal and natural, focusing on the true beauty of them and beauty of the song, but with some flares in terms of
eyeliner or bold lipstick to emphasis a statement in the singers.
The hair images in the mood board shows a simplistic, stylised idea
with classic waves or straight hair for our black look, addressing
the idea that fits. The black look is more of a night look, where
as the colour and fun look is a daytime approach, with the use of
braids and black, ripped jeans. These looks will fit the time of day
and work effectively against the effect we want to put in place
for our video. The video itself will have two different location
which contrast, showing two varied sides to each character
in the video. The idea of pop bands often blend item wise with
having the same style with slight differences as they may have
different hairstyles and outfits that may only match in colour.
By looking closely at other pop artists, it helps to look at
trends in Pop, to ensure what is being created appeals effectively
to the audience, as much of the audience are teenage girls who
aspire to be like their icon or the singer in the video.
