Costa Vikings victorious after
Nasir Dar's rapid century
COSTA Vikings and the Costa
del Sol Crusaders locked cricket
horns at the Cártama Oval on
Sunday for the cup.
The Vikings won the toss and
elected to bat first.
Captain Nasir Dar played a
captain’s innings by scoring a
brilliant 111 well supported by
Nushan Alwis 88 not out. Nus-
han scored his fifth consecutive
half century
.
Both the batsman didn’t
spare the Crusaders bowlers as
they amassed 164 runs in the
last 15 overs.Vikings ended up
scoring 244-2 off 30 overs.
The Crusaders needed 8.13
runs per over to chase the target
but they lost an early wicket
when Amjid Ali was caught for
14 and Ashan Alwis followed
him soon after. Jesper Hansen 43
and Chris Batten 60 had a brief
partnership in the middle. Kai
Manson and Adam Orfila tied
down the batsman in the death
overs when the Crusaders
needed 10 an over. The match
was all over when the Crusaders
lost Jesper Hansen and Egan
Dantis in consecutive overs.
