Easy wins for Crusaders and Málaga
cricket clubs against the Woodcutters
SPORTS World Spain hosted two
social matches at the Cartama
Oval last weekend, for the Wood-
cutters Cricket Club from Scot-
land.
Costa del Sol Crusaders and
Malaga CC won the matches
against Woodcutters CC by large
margins of 151 and 129 runs re-
spectively
.
The first match was played
on Saturday September 16. Win-
ning the toss, the local team
posted a big total on the board,
with some big hitting by Nushan
Alwis and Jesper Hansen lead-
ing to a score of 249-4 off 30
overs for the Crusaders.
Woodcutters were tied up by
some tight bowling by the Cru-
saders, with some good bowling
by Steve 1-2 and Ryan 1-8 which
made run scoring difficult, as
Woodcutters ended up on 98-4
off 30 overs. Nushan Alwis was
given the Man of the Match
award for his brilliant batting
display
.

On Sunday September 17 Ma-
laga CC took on the Wood-
cutters. Captain Asif won the
toss and elected to bat first, and
they took on Woodcutters'
bowlers and scored rapidly
.
Nadeem Hussain scored 57
and Waqas Ahmed scored a
quick 36, which helped them to a
record score of 281 off 30 overs.
Woodcutters CC were never
in the game, as they had to score
almost 10 runs an over. Camp-
bell scored an attacking 50 and
Bowie was not out on 40, but that
was never going to be enough
and they fell short by 129 runs.
Zaman took 2-23 and Waqas Ali
1-13. Nadeem Hussain was ad-
judged Man of the Match for his
quick 57.
Málaga CC 280-9 (Nadeem 57,
Afzal 31, Waqas Ahmed 36, Mar-
vick 2-40, Banks-2-35, Neeves-2-20)
beat Woodcutters 151-4 (Campbell
50, Bowie 40, Zaman 2-23, Waqas
