- 1. 36 Sports COSTA NEWS, December 28, 2017-January 3, 2018 All round Crusaders demolish Fuengirola Lions Asif Sayed (3-12) and Amir Khan tied down the Crusaders' batsmen and in the course Cru- saders lost wickets. Crusaders were 111-6 at one stage but Abra- ham Syam played a quick cameo of 25 runs of 14 deliveries in the middle and Kai Manson scored quick runs at the end and made sure there was no damage done and took the team home with 10 overs to spare. Fuengirola Lions 136-10 (Nadeem Malik 34, Ethesham Khan 22, Egan Dantis 4-16, Kai Manson 3-31) lost to Costa del Sol Crusaders 139-7 (Nushan Alwis 51, Abraham S 25, Asif Sayed 3-12, Amir Khan 2-11) Egan Steven Dantis was ad- judged Man of the Match for his career best of 4-16. 2nd match T-12 The shortened version of the game is always fun to watch and play . Crusaders smacked the Fuengirola bowlers all over the Fifties for Nushan Alwis, Amjid Ali, and Ashan Alwis By Egan Steven Dantis 1st match 35 overs The Costa del Sol Crusaders cricket team almost choked while chasing a modest target of 137 off 35 overs after they bowled out Fuengirola Lions for 136 off 23.4 overs. Fuengirola Lions struggled to score runs as Egan Dantis (4-16) and Kai Manson (3-31) made inroads after winning the toss. Nadeem Malik (34) and Ethesham Khan(22) made some useful contributions in the middle but none of the other batsman managed to survive against some quality bowling, as they lost their last four wickets for five runs and ended up on a paltry 136. 136 looked an easy task for the Crusaders after their openers put up 32 runs for the first wicket. Nushan Alwis was rock solid in the middle after yet another half century . Once Nus- han was dismissed the Cru- saders middle order fell apart.
