Corals are a hard stony substance secreted by marine coelenterates to form external skeletons and large reefs in warm seas. Coelenterates are aquatic invertebrates like jellyfish and sea anemones distinguished by a tube-shaped body and tentacles around a single opening. There are 6 key steps to preparing corals - soaking, cleaning, bleaching, drying, sorting by size and quality, and finishing with coloring and designing. Corals are important for providing fish shelter and are used for ornamentation, jewellery, and decoration.
