to check any discrepancy
 HK room boys keep an eye on the floors and rooms
for illegal weapons, drugs, suspicious behavioure,
sleep out, vacant rooms, skippers and report to
FO
 Special arrangements for VIPs, Groups, extra
amenities, flower arrangement, extra bed are
communicated to HK
FOOD & BEVERAGE DEPARTMENT
 FO informs about the arrival and departure of
guests, for planning food preparation and service
 Special arrangements for VIPs, Crew
 Information about group arrival , their buffet and
meal plans
 Mini Bar setup and replenishment in rooms
 arrangements like fruit basket, cookies etc
BANQUETS
 FO coordinates to put information of the events and
parties in the lobby
 A board with the banquet venue, location , direction
is put in lobby for the convenience of guests
 Also some packages ,material for promotion of
events is displayed in FO
ACCOUNTS
 FO provides a detailed summary of all transactions
of the day to finance department.
 Cash / payments / balance is iformed to accounts
 Making budgets and allocation of resources
 Planning to purchase equipments , computers, etc
SALES AND MARKETING
 Coordinates for information about room availability,
room reservation record, guest history,
 Also details for planning for VIPs, Crew, Groups
arrival and stay
 To make marketing strategies for the hotel
 For selling rooms in lean/off season
SECURITY
 FO and Security dept. are responsible for hotel
security and safety of guests and employees
 Maintaining peace and order in lobby
 Handling notorious guests who are creating
nuisence , skippers etc
 To deal with any emergency situation , like
earthquake, fire emergency, terrorist attack,
 Evacuation and giving directions during emergency
HUMAN RESOURCES
 FO manager gives information about hiring new
staff, training schedules, promotions, salaries, to
the HR manager
 Budget for the salaries and managing staff in
accordance to the budget allocated.
