Teaming up to teach a cohort of incoming freshman athletes during the Fall 2015 semester, a librarian and a faculty member designed a research study to examine the short and long term effects of embedded librarianship on incoming student athletes’ GPA, information literacy skills, and perceptions of research. In this non-credit Life Skills course required for all incoming athletes, the librarian was charged with infusing critical thinking and information literacy in the context of the weekly topics. Both formative and summative assessments were conducted in order to chart student learning. In-class exercises were designed to teach students to approach problems and gaps in their knowledge like researchers. Frequent checks for learning with formal and informal assessments were used in nearly each class. This presentation will not delve into the larger research project but instead will detail the sustainability, practicality, and effectiveness of attempting to measure student learning in the weekly classroom activities.
Learning Objective Focused Technology Integration - Presentation at IETC 2012 that challenges participants to rethink the way they integrate technology and use the TPACK framework to build their capacities and assist in planning.

The effect of PowerPoint Presentation–based (PPPb) quiz to the students’ scores has been rarely studied. It is the intention of this research to understand the effect of PPPb quiz to students score in wave motion and the students’ experiences under such a strategy. This research used a mixed approach: quasi-experimental to learn if scores gain was significant, and thematic analysis was used to know the experiences of the students. The results confirmed that PPPb quiz has indeed increased the scores of the students. Statistical analysis verified that this increase was significant. On the thematic analysis, students manifested comparing oral quiz to PPPb, caught their attention, and vivid communication. Therefore, the effect of PPPb was significant to the students because it positively impacted their scores in wave motion and promoted vivid communication among students.
We share a potential model for online recitation sessions for MIT residential courses based on our experiences running similar sessions for courses in the MITx MicroMasters Program in Statistics and Data Science.
Student’s critical thinking skills that are currently still low are important to develop because they affect the way students think in solving problems. The problem-based learning model with the inquiry method used to help improve student’s critical thinking skills. The iSpring learning media used can help students understand the material. The research results were obtained from the output of the paired sample t-test, a significance value < 0.05, so it was concluded that there was a difference between before applying the learning model and after applying the learning model. The results of the questionnaire responses to the media also resulted in positive responses from students.

Gamification technology
This topic is considered a new trend, as many people are unaware of the word “gamification” and the relation it has to do with learning.
Since the new generation learners are becoming more digitally dependent, we assumed that gamification can be used in education particularly to enhance students’ performance and motivation.
To identify to what extent learning using gaming as a tool (Gamification Technology) will affect the educational process as a powerful tool for catalyzing attention and its influence as an educational approach.

The simplified electron and muon model, Oscillating Spacetime: The Foundation...RitikBhardwaj56
Discover the Simplified Electron and Muon Model: A New Wave-Based Approach to Understanding Particles delves into a groundbreaking theory that presents electrons and muons as rotating soliton waves within oscillating spacetime. Geared towards students, researchers, and science buffs, this book breaks down complex ideas into simple explanations. It covers topics such as electron waves, temporal dynamics, and the implications of this model on particle physics. With clear illustrations and easy-to-follow explanations, readers will gain a new outlook on the universe's fundamental nature.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

a level with a monster
a level with a monster
and forewarning about the monster.
Students are given a pre-formulated research question:

6. Data gathering
● Students record play sessions in our game lab. The
lab is equipped with Elgato Game Capture
hardware which allows for simultaneous recording
of the game screen while two cameras record play
● In forms of materials, students are given:
● a game prototype (in the first course instance,
we used three AAA games instead of the
prototype)
● a script for a data gathering session along with
a message that can be used to recruit
participants
● ready-made questionnaire
● a semi-structured interview guide.
● Focus questions:
How is the player experience influenced depending on whether a 1st
person or a 3rd person point of view is used in the intro cut-scene?
How is use of forewarning influencing playing experience?

Part 2
13. ● Insights from bachelors thesis supervision
● Focus on observed changed
● In supervision, there is less need to discuss on general aspects of data
gathering and supervision is focusing more on specific issues of research
design
● During supervision of data analysis, students talk about specific steps and
details of data analysis using relevant concepts
● Students enter with more considered and detailed research designs than
earlier
● Part of this is due to structure of thesis course
● The data analyses we see in supervision are more systematic than earlier
