The document discusses computer networks and their history and components. It provides information on how networks have evolved from centralized computers in the 1950s-1970s to interconnected networks spanning the globe. It describes transmission media, networking devices like routers, different network topologies, and communication protocols that govern data exchange. It also discusses network classifications based on transmission technology (broadcast vs point-to-point networks) and scale (LAN, MAN, WAN). Specific network types like LANs, MANs, WANs and the Internet are explained. Additional topics covered include routing, network security techniques like cryptography and firewalls, and applications of networks like email, teleconferencing, manufacturing and financial services.

Marketing Strategies of Coca-Cola India | MBAtiousaneesh p
Coca-Cola was the 1st international soft drinks brand to enter India in early 1970’s. Indian market was dominated by domestic brands, with Limca being the largest selling brand. Cola was the largest selling flavor with market share of 40%, Lemon drinks 31% and orange drinks only 19%. Up till 1977, Coca-cola was the leading soft drink brand in India. But due to norms set by the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA), Coca-Cola left India and did not return till 1993 after a 16 year absence from the Indian beverage market. FERA needed Coca-Cola to reveal its secret concentrate formula as well as reduce its equity stake which was not acceptable.
Coca-Cola got the permission to enter the country with a 100 per cent unit in India. On September 22, 1993, the company bought out the Parle brands. As an entry strategy, Coca-Cola India took over Parle Foods. With a fine and detailed distribution network in place, Coke was now ready to take on archrival over a period of time, Coca-Cola India also bought certain bottling units that earlier belonged to Parle or individual distributors.

Web application security is the process of protecting websites and online services against different security threats that exploit vulnerabilities in an application’s code . Common targets for web application attacks are content management systems Web application security is important to any business as it helps to keep web applications functioning smoothly and protect businesses from cyber vandalism, data theft, unethical competition, and other negative consequences . Web applications may face a number of attack types depending on the attacker’s goals, the nature of the targeted organization’s work. A web application (web app) is an application program that is stored on a remote server and delivered over the internet through a browser interface. Web services are web apps by definition and many, although not all, websites contain web apps.
Computer Networking
Networking is a decisive factor for the successful working of today’s entire information systems. There are lots of networking examples around you, such as TV or Cable networks, Telephone networks, Railway networks, Cellular phone’s networks, Post & Telegraph networks, etc. But most important networking example is Computer Networks, because it plays vital roles in some forms in other networking examples.
It is the interconnection of multiple devices, generally termed as Hosts connected using multiple paths for the purpose of sending receiving data or media. There are also multiple devices or mediums which helps in the communication between two different devices which are known as Network devices. Ex Router, Switch, Hub, Bridge. The layout pattern using which devices are interconnected is called network topology. Such as Bus, Star, Mesh, Ring, Daisy chain. Computer network, two or more computers that are connected with one another for the purpose of communicating data electronically. Besides physically connecting computer and communication devices, a network system serves the important function of establishing a cohesive architecture that allows a variety of equipment types to transfer information in a near seamless fashion. Two popular architectures are ISO Open Systems Interconnection OSI and IBM's Systems Network Architecture SNA . Wireless communication involves the transmission of information over a distance without the help of wires, cables or any other forms of electrical conductors.
Wireless communication is a broad term that incorporates all procedures and forms of connecting and communicating between two or more devices using a wireless signal through wireless communication technologies and devices.
Features of Wireless Communication
The evolution of wireless technology has brought many advancements with its effective features.
The transmitted distance can be anywhere between a few meters (for example, a television's remote control) and thousands of kilometers (for example, radio communication).
Wireless communication can be used for cellular telephony, wireless access to the internet, wireless home networking, and so on.

Multi-cluster Kubernetes Networking- Patterns, Projects and GuidelinesSanjeev Rampal
Talk presented at Kubernetes Community Day, New York, May 2024.
Technical summary of Multi-Cluster Kubernetes Networking architectures with focus on 4 key topics.
1) Key patterns for Multi-cluster architectures
2) Architectural comparison of several OSS/ CNCF projects to address these patterns
3) Evolution trends for the APIs of these projects
4) Some design recommendations & guidelines for adopting/ deploying these solutions.
2. Introduction
Computer network is an interconnected set of autonomous computers. The term
autonomous implies that the computers can function independent of others.
3. History
In 1950s and 1960 computers were centralize.
1970s, the VLSI technology and microprocessors.
The APPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network). Starting with four-node
experimental network in 1969, it has subsequently grown into a network several
thousand computers spanning half of the globe, from Hawaii to Sweden.
In the late 1970s and early 80s another new communication technique known as Local
Area Networks (LANs) evolved, which helped computers to communicate at high
speed over a small geographical area.
9. Network Technologies
Classification Based on Transmission Technology
• Broadcast networks and
• Point-to-point networks
Classification based on Scale
• Local Area (LAN),
• Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and
• Wide Area Networks (WAN).
11. Point-to-Point Networks
The communication is done through
various nodes.
The end devices that wish to
communicate are called stations
The switching devices are called
nodes.
12. Local Area Networks
LAN is usually privately owned and links the
devices in a single office, building or campus of
up to few kilometers in size. These are used to
share resources (may be hardware or software
resources) and to exchange information.
LAN typically used transmission technology
consisting of single cable to which all machines
are connected.
13. Metropolitan Area Networks
MAN is designed to extend over the
entire city. It may be a single network
as a cable TV network or it may be
means of connecting a number of
LANs into a larger network so that
resources may be shared.
For example, a company can use a
MAN to connect the LANs in all its
offices in a city.
14. Wide Area Networks
WAN provides long-distance transmission of data,
voice, image and information over large
geographical areas that may comprise a country,
continent or even the whole world.
A WAN that is wholly owned and used by a single
company is often referred to as enterprise network.
15. Internet
Internet is a collection of networks or network of
networks. Various networks such as LAN and WAN
connected through suitable hardware and software to
work in a seamless manner.
It allows various applications such as e-mail, file
transfer, remote log-in, World Wide Web, Multimedia,
etc. run across the internet.
The basic difference between WAN and Internet is
that WAN is owned by a single organization while
internet is not so.
16. Routing
Routing is the act of moving information across an inter-network from a source to a
destination. Along the way, at least one intermediate node typically is encountered. It’s
also referred to as the process of choosing a path over which to send the packets.
17. Network Security
Cryptography refers to the tools and techniques used to make messages secure for
communication between the participants and make messages immune to attacks by hackers.
The message to be sent through an unreliable medium is known as plaintext, which is
encrypted before sending over the medium. The encrypted message is known as ciphertext,
which is received at the other end of the medium and decrypted to get back the original
plaintext message.
18. Network Security
A firewall system is an electronic security guard and electronic barrier at the same time. It
protects and controls the interface between a private network and an insecure public
network.
19. Applications
Electronic mail: Probably it's the most widely used computer network application.
Teleconferencing: Teleconferencing allows conference to occur without the participants
being in the same place.
Manufacturing: Two of them that use network to provide essential services are
computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAM), both of which
allow multiple users to work on a project simultaneously.
Financial services: Today's financial services are totally depended on computer networks.
Application includes credit history searches, foreign exchange and investment services,
and electronic fund transfer, which allow user to transfer money without going into a
bank.
