The Development Of The Established Holy Bible
Marcion of Sinope The development of the established Holy Bible was a long, drawn out process
that started with the foundation of the original Jewish scriptures, formerly known as the Torah.
Building off of Jewish ideals, theologians and philosophers started compiling scriptures with the
ultimate result of the New Testament canon. Typically, many factors were taken into account when
distinguishing the credibility or incredibility of a given scripture. For example, apostolic
succession, where and when it was written as well as the cohesiveness with the other scriptures
(referring to the Old Testament, as well as the documents within what was to become the New
Testament). There were various depictions of the New Testament as the universally accepted canon
was still developing, some of which contained writings that were certainly questionable. However,
there was an initial establishment of the scriptural canon that jump started the process of paving the
road towards the Holy Bibleas we know it today. It was the absurdity of Marcion s teachings and
that prompted the church to establish an orthodox position on doctrine. Marcion was native to
Sinope in Pontus, a small port town off of the inner coastline of Asia Minor. In Sinope, Marcion
earned a fortune as a ship owner, which opened up many doors for him down the road. In his
travels, Marcion arrived in Rome and attempted to spread his personal developments on Christian
doctrine. In doing so, he donated a large sum of money

Incas and Aztecs Essay
Incas and Aztecs
Like the Athenians and Spartans of ancient Greece, the Inca and the Aztec bear resemblance to the
two other ancient cultures. The Athenians and Incas were both more interested in developing their
Arts as well as their military, but both the Spartans and the Aztecs were highly interested more so in
warfare than religion. Although the Aztecand Inca never had to face each other, it is interesting to
compare them because of their dominant positions of extremely large and powerful tribes. I am
going to compare and contrast religion and the social system along with their system of
government, which can be put together.
The Inca and Aztec were both extremely religious. Their entire lives revolved around ... Show more

They believed in good and evil things and saw omens in many things such as rainbows, falling
stars, and the hoot of an owl.
They believed that Viracocha was the most important god of all. He was similar to Omelecuhtli, the
Aztec god. He was the creator of the Sun, Moon, and Stars that were all seen as gods. The Sun
was the life giver and was the most important server of Viracocha. He watched over the crops and
was the father of the Emperor. His image was a human face surrounded by rays of flowing hair.
The Moon was the wife of the Sun. It was believed that an eclipse was the result a great serpent or
mountain lion trying to eat her. To frighten off the creatures, they would point their weapons at the
moon and start screaming and shouting at it.
The constellations, or Stars, all had duties assigned to them by Viracocha. For example, Pleiades
had the job of looking over the seeds in the fields, and Lyra, which looked like a llama, looked after
the herds.
They also worshipped some other gods such as Thunder, the god of weather, who was an important
deity. He was pictured as a man with a war club and a sling in the other hand. Thunder and
lightning came from the sling and he drew rain from the Milky Way. Farmers worshipped the Earth
Mother and fishermen worshipped that Mother Sea.
The Aztec and Inca both had very different beliefs for the afterlife.
The Aztec, like most Indians,

How Did Britain Contribute To The Industrial Revolution
Britain was the first country in the world to experience an Industrial Revolution. There are several
factors that contributed to the Industrial Revolution in Britain. In this essay, population increase,
agricultural revolution, transport revolution, British entrepreneurialism and growing overseas
markets will all be individually examined and a conclusion will be drawn about which of these
factors was the most crucial to the Industrial Revolutionand why that is the case.
One factor that was considerably important in the lead up to the industrial revolution was the huge
increase in the British population, which meant an increase in the need for work and labour.
Previously, mortality rates in Britain had been particularly high due to poor housing and sanitation,
among other things, which led to serious illnesses among the population. However, throughout the
1750s to the 1810s, the mortality rate had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bringing in goods from other countries widens the range of products available at home and makes
for a better standard of living. At the beginning of the eighteenth century, the biggest export
coming out of Britain was wool (69%), however, during the Industrial Revolution the importance
of wool dropped considerably with the new focus being mainly on products such as iron and
cotton. With most of the imports coming into Britain being from the Empire, they consisted mostly
of things such as coffee, tobacco, tea, sugar, and cotton. The amount of raw materials being
imported into Britain in 1700 was 71%, while 1851 it had risen to a staggering 95%. The growth of
overseas markets was therefore significantly important as it created such a high demand for British
products which in turn allowed producers to sell their products on large scales, continuously
bringing money into Britain, therefore providing the money needed to complete the process of

Little Women And The Civil War
Little Women and the Civil War.
The Civil War served as much more than the fight for civil economies and a struggle to end slavery.
What lied in the foreground of the civil war are images of unions and confederate soldiers
rummaging through forest of the American South and thoughts of slaves gaining their long sought
freedom.
However most people do not consider the lingering backdrop of the war. That would be the effects
the war would have on the changing gender roles. The new gender roles formed during the civil
war before we can determine the gender roles in the socially crucial time in American History,
first we should define what is meant by gender . Context of gender is more than just physical
being. Gender can be considered more abstract. This being said gender should be considered a
preconceived notion about how each of the two sexes should act or interact. An identity is likely
exemplified by this following quote from the mid 1800 s. Their (the Grimke sisters ) antislavery
speaking tour of the North encountered bitter criticism and resistance from men who charged that
they had overstepped the boundaries of their appointed sphere. (Elizabeth)
In the decades before the civil war it was entirely common for society and women themselves to
assign a more subordinate role to women. Women cooked cleaned, nurtured and everything society
deemed fit. The civil war however shaped women up to be much more than that. The civil war was
not the first time we had seen women

The Ability Of Overcome Degenerative Policy Making Is...
The ability to overcome degenerative policy making is through policy analysis which deconstructs
policy designs in order to expose degenerative characteristics and deceptions (Schneider Ingram
1997). Public policy needs to be inclusive and should provide a clear vision of possibilities,
explanations of how and why antidemocratic elements are embedded in policydesigns, and
interpretations of how designs impact democratic life (Schneider Ingram 1997, 207). According to
Stone (2011), knowledge tools reduce the need for coercive action or force because in the rational
model, information will resolve conflict between actual behavior and desired behavior.
Providing knowledge or educating make it unnecessary to incentivize or sanction the target in
order to elicit the desired behavior. Instead, lack of information or capacity is the primary barrier,
and once the appropriate information is relayed to the target, the desired behavior will follow
(Schneider Ingram, 1997; Stone, 2011). However, people use a variety of strategies to help their
interests and political goals. Critics of rational choice theory contend that people act largely
according to prior attitudes and beliefs rather than new information (Stone, 2011, p. 314). One must
be aware of human and social behavior if they are to try and analyze policy.
Schneider Ingram (1997) identify some general principles (203 206) to look for during policy
analysis. Target groups should be constructed across the lines of

Franciscan Values Analysis
Out of all of Our Franciscan Values which include, reverence the unique dignity of each person,
encourage a trustful, prayerful community of learners, serve one another, society, and the Church,
foster peace and justice, and respect creation. Although it took me a good portion of the
semester, I believe that I fully recognize and understand the importance of these values as well as
how they are put into play every single day here at USF. The core/human values that I have put
into action this semester include serve one another, society, and the Church as well as reverence
the unique dignity of each person. While seem to correlate to each other as both can be carried out
by someone at any given time. Throughout my first semester here at USF, I believe that these two
values are the easiest to be put into play within our lives and fall hand in hand with one another....

Temporary Fix Or Permanent Solution
Temporary Fix or Permanent Solution
The problem that is ever increasing in danger and complexity is Internet being dangerous. The
Internet problem is something that is caused by many things like Malware, Spoofing, Viruses
and ransomware. Some of the effects of the problem are loss of finances and personal
information. Another few are people losing their identity to others and damage to people s
property. With the amount of danger the causes make the solution to the problem should be
clear and easy to think and make. Yet sadly the problem with making the solution is people have
come up with only small patches that minimize the damage and lower the chances of being the
victim of it but none have solved the problem in it s entirety. Many of the partial solutions either
protect from the problem by fighting it or by avoiding it altogether. An example of avoiding the
danger is by having programs that have a list of known malicious programs and doesn t let any of
those onto the device. A true solution to this problem would need to either make the problem
disappear altogether or to make the problem not be able to affect people and their devices.
Internet safety has been getting more and more difficult to keep even at the level it is now. This
problem is spreading not just to small businesses but also to major companies as well with this
news coming out Mainstream websites, including those published by The New York Times, the
BBC, MSN, and AOL, are falling victim to a new rash

Environmental Effects On Environment
Shavonne Devine

Through industrial development we have diminished our soil, ruined farmland, trees and have
caused extinction of various species. All of these natural resources took over hundreds of millions
years to form and Americans have destroyed them all for the need to build more. David Brower a
prominent environmentalist says we have diminished our soil, fisheries, fossil fuels and we have
changed the climate. We caused the extinction of countless species by half. Over consumption has
reached a point of harming Americans health and the overall environment. According to John De
Graaf, David Wann and Thomas H. Naylor sixty nine acres of prime Americanfarmland are lost to
development. Once you cut down and pave over farms the land is gone forever. The very thing that
humanity relies on is being taken for granted. Americas increase in consumption does have benefits
but the negative effects on the environment, American health and family outweigh the positive.
What once was an abundance of natural resources is now becoming hard to find. The magnitude
that this type of industrial development has on the environment is irreversible. The damage we are
doing can never be undone. Through our constant need for more we have managed to change the
climate. American Farmland Trust points out how 24 million acres of agricultural land has been
developed since 1982. In Bloomington Minnesota on over 100 acres stands the Potomac Mills

The History of Cheerleading Essay
The history of cheerleading is connected to the development of sports in the United States and
crowd participation at athletic events. In 1869, the first American football college game took place
at Rutgers University against Princeton University in Piscataway, New Jersey. This was where
cheerleading initially began.
By the 1880s, the students at Princeton formed an all male student pep club to lead chants and yells
in order to support their team and create an exciting sports environment. To motivate their team,
people in the stands would yell encouragements such as Tiger, Tiger, Sis, Sis, Sis! and Princeton,

concept of cheer and pep club at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thanks to Campbell and his fellow yell leaders , Minnesota won the game 17 6 and cheerleading
was born. Based on their success, cheerleading continued to grow and develop over time. As
participation in cheerleading grew over time, new techniques and skills were added, until
cheerleading became what it is today. Meanwhile, the sport of Basketball invented in 1891, also
grew in popularity and became a major sport where cheerleading also continued to develop and
prosper over the next 100 years.
For the first 25 years cheer was a male only activity. In 1923, the first women cheerleaders were
introduced at the University of Minnesota at their sports games. They were only allowed to join
because they had very limited options when it came to sports.. They wore ankle length skirts and
varsity sweaters. Female cheer squads included skills such as gymnastics, dance, and stunting in
their routines. In the 1930s, cheerleaders used paper poms when cheering. The first vinyl pom
poms were made in 1965. Even though women participated in cheerleading in several parts of the
country, it wasn t until the 1940s when the male students left the country to fight in World War II
that women became the majority of cheerleading s athletes. Women took charge and led the crowd
in cheers and performed their own routines. Today, more than 90% of the world s cheerleaders are
female.

Somalia Chapter 1 Summary

History of colonialism and the failure of the Somali state:
The African Continent has been the place that is known as a mystery for the Europeans. Despite of
the fact Europeans knew little about the mainland, its people, traditions, conventions, but a
considerable measure of them were profoundly inquisitive about the landmass, and most
importantly its natural resources and raw materials. In the 19th century, European kingdoms began
to give careful consideration to Africa and a great deal of researchers, explorers and travelers
overflowed Africa. The African mainland was brimming with great sights, beautiful creatures,

language for the whole territory, thus it could have been a great power in the region but
unfortunately colonial powers comes sneaking in, in addition to the wars, piracy and bomb attacks.
The three major powers that colonized Somalia are Italy, France, and Britain, Britain became
concerned with keeping the route to India open through the Suez Canal, which was opened in 1869
and as a result Britain proclaimed Somalia as a British protectorate and named it British Somaliland
and Italy named it Somalia italiana and French Somaliland . Each country has its own interests in
these regions, People of Somalia neither was treated fairly with respect to their humanitarian rights
nor was given respect for their individual culture, Above all colonization succeeded to divide this

Wide Sargasso Sea Isolation Essay
In the novels Wide Sargasso Sea and Jane Eyre, by Jean Rhys and Charlotte Bronte, the theme of
isolation is used to contrast both Antoinette and Jane. In both novels, Jane and Antoinette all have
to experience isolation which helps them by the end of the novels. In this essay, I will compare and
contrast how Charlotte Bronte and Jean Rhys explain the theme of isolation through the lives of
both Jane and Antoinette. The novels, Jane Eyreand Wide Sargasso Sea, portray Jane and
Antoinette as being two isolated personalities who, despite their different lives both endure
isolation. In Jane Eyre, Jane is an orphan who is left in the care of her aunt who treats her harshly
and isolates her from the rest of the people in the house. When Jane has a chance to attend Lowood,
her isolation is aggravate, and she transforms into a very restrained woman with low self confidence
with no hope. Similarly, in Wide Sargasso Sea, Antoinette s isolation starts at home as well and
continues when she attends the convent which influences her personality. In the novel, Antoinette
spends most of her time in her room because she feels as though people view her as being insane;
however, in reality Antoinette acts very normal.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jean Rhys makes it clear that no one paid attention to Antoinette or her family. Thus, Antoinette s
isolation at an early age negatively shapes her identity and her relationship with others, particularly
Rochester. In the middle of the novel, Antoinette is vulnerable, emotionally destroyed, and lives in
a world that she created in order to escape isolation until Rochester makes an appearance in her life.
Later on, the novel discloses that Rochester, whom Antoinette loves, starts to distance himself from
her until she can no longer take

The Impact of Lipolysis on Different Cheese Varieties
Impact of Lipolysis in Different Cheese Varieties Introduction During the process of ripening,
biochemical processes that take place in the cheese are the most importance factors that
contribute in speedy ripening process. Other than well studied, proteolysis, most important roles
in cheese ripening involves lipolysis, the fat burning process. Ripening is the main process in
which development of the cheese flavor takes place. During the process of ripening a large
number of sapid compounds are produced which if present in the correct ratios and
concentrations lead to the best flavor development. Three processes are known that contribute in
the production of these compounds, lipolysis, proteolysis and glycolysis. The flavor
development in cheese depends upon the degree in which these three processes functions that
play key roles in distinct differences between cheese varieties. Extent of Lipolysis in Cheese The
studies have shown that the extent of lipolysis is different and varied in different kinds of
cheese. Dutch type cheese has lesser extent of lipolysis to extensive lipolysis as seen in much
harder, ripened Italian cheese. In the case of Emmental cheese, it is seen that only 1 2% of the
lipids are hydrolyzed, and the highest being in Blue cheese (Kilcawley, and Beresford, 2004, p.
34). Lipolytic Enzymes Involved It has been highlighted that cheese with lesser amount of fatty
acids is considered unripened and not mature as compared to the cheese having higher

The Plage of Bottled Water
Bottled Up
Over the last decades the human race has made magnificent strides in looks for a greener society.
How can we make great leaps in these new science fields when we are not even capable of taking
care of the pollution problem which is greatest harm to the human race and all Earths inhabitants?
Bottled water is the most massed produced plastic products around to date. The bottled water is
supposedly safer, easier to tote, and helps the economy by providing jobs for citizens. Bottled
water may taste better than regular tap water, but the purity of the water comes at a price that is
often disclosed to the public. The CEO s of the massive bottled water companies continue to see
growth as the years pass on, but on the other hand looking at how much is paid on the advertising
and packaging for the water, they only come out with a small profit. Bottled water is not only just
costly, but it also harms the environment. If the mass production rate of bottled water continues we
will see its negatives effects on our environment, economy, and its harmful effects on humanlives.
Bottled water has plagued our environment since its creation. The Food Water Watch states that,

Everything happens quickly, short and fast. In many dishes of Chinese cuisine, food is prepared
with parts of food that are cut into bite size and are ready to be eaten immediately. In traditional
Chinese culture sticks are used and it is in a way based on the opposites. For example, the hot

The Albuquerque Police Department has shot twice as many people as the police departments in
cities of similar size (Kim). Police officials claim that Albuquerque has a high number dangerous
situations and that firing their weapons is necessary, which hasn t been proven. Many individuals
argue that shooting dangerous suspects is necessary for the policeto do their jobs adequately and to

Albuquerque Police Department are in need of reform to prevent the number of fatal police
shootings within the city. The Albuquerque Police Department would highly benefit from reforms
geared toward their officers training. It s clear that there is a problem within the department
because of the high number of shootings perpetrated by police. Compared to other cities around the
nation, it becomes evident that the number of fatal shootings is highly abnormal, and that reform is
necessary to prevent that number from rising even higher. Another factor that proves reform is
necessary is that many of the fatally shot were mentally ill, and not criminals. If police were
trained on how to deescalate situations instead of shoot, it could prevent unnecessary deaths. Police
learning to differentiate between situations when shooting a suspect is required or not could also
save the city money. If reform doesn t happen quickly, it invites more problems. Officers may see

The Culture Of The Spanish Culture

Spain has one of the most interesting cultures in the world. The culture that Spain has has
influenced and shaped the modern world as we know it. Despite Spain being one of the smaller
countries in terms of territory in the southwestern Europe, their history is shockingly different from
that of the others around them. Spain occupies a large portion of the Iberian Peninsula. The land that

The Democratic Party And The Whig Party
During the time periods between the 1830s and 1840s, two political parties: the Democratic party
and the Whig party had faced the challenges among their ideological differences on the role of
federal government in the economy and the westward expansion, but did compromise in certain
ways. The one party system of Monroe s presidency had led to the creation of a two party system
under the presidency terms of Andrew Jackson. The supporters of President Jackson were known
as the Democrats and the supporters of Henry Clay and Daniel Webster, rivals of Jackson, came
to be known as the Whigs. The Democrats were influenced by Thomas Jefferson, whereas the
Whigs were influenced by Alexander Hamilton. The Democrats were in favor of states rights and
opposed the growth of a powerful central government. Democrats also favored in rapid territorial
and external growth. The Whigs were in favor of a stronger federal government that was
dominated by Congress. Whigs also favored gradual territorial expansions and internal
improvements. In future reference, the Democratic and Whig party created the two political parties

The Gilded Age
A successful economy is perhaps the most key ingredient leading to a successful nation. An
economy is a delicate balance of many different conflicting and coexisting elements. Naturally, an
economy s success can often be measured by the amount of wealth is contains, not to mention the
effectiveness or ineffectiveness of its distribution of the wealth. Effective distribution of wealth is
no easy feat. Wealthy and poor people will always need to coexist this is an inescapable truth. The
government s job in many cases becomes that of a referee. Naturally, perfect peace and harmony

In order to attain optimal circumstances for increased capitalism heads of corporations naturally
needed to outdo each other. In many cases the price of lowering prices and speeding up
production came in the form of pay cuts and layoffs. The individual needed to serve the means
of the corporation. Simply because some workers had poor working conditions does not mean
that the US economy was in the gutter. Statistics show that the American economy on the whole
flourished during the Guilded and Industrial Age (91). In the fifty years between the eight
consensus and the twelfth consensus, taken in 1860 and 1910 respectively, the country s
population soared from 31.5 million to 92.4 million, an increase of almost three times. During
these same years the GNP, representing the dollar value of all the goods and services produced
each year, leaped from about $7 billion to over $35 billion. This meant an average increase of in
output from $150 to about $380 for every adult and child in the nation (Burner411). These
statistics point to economic gains of colossal proportions. Goods produced made up for job
layoffs as the US economy became, like a machine, more industrialized each day. All of the key
components were in place to have a thriving economy. Investment bankers also stepped in and
became powerful. J.P. Morgan is a prime example of not only economic success, but also how the
rich gave back to society. Although the rich of the

I Love Alzheimer s Research Paper
Why I chose This Topic I ve always loved the holidays. It s a mostly stress free nostalgic time to
enjoy with friends and loved ones. Best of all, holidays normally mean gifts and plenty of good
food! The celebrations are great, but it seems that at most every family Christmas or
Thanksgiving, we are on the edge of our seats and nervous. I ve found that I am unable to
concentrate on the festivities because my mind is wandering, thinking of our other loved ones.
Since I can remember, we have always had a family member plagued with cancer, tumors, or
other grave diseases. That being said, the ailment I ve feared most is Alzheimer s. I ve seen too
many loved ones forget their relatives and eventually their spouses because of this disease. I am...

One of my main questions was whether I could do anything emotionally to cope with Alzheimer

face your feelings head on think of all emotions...positive and negative...be as sad as you
want...work through anger and frustration...these are healthy feelings...it s common to feel love
and anger at the same time Taken from a paper published on ( Alzheimer s Association website ).
The next thing I found that helped me personally was how to deal with guilt, personally I ve
experienced feeling guilty when taking a break or not being there for my grandma when she
needed me, as well as regretting things I had done before knowing about the illness. Something
interesting I found that I would ve never thought of was to continue to participate in as many
activities as possible.( Alzheimer s Association pg. ) I also found that a good way to keep an
emotional connection longer is to personally connect with the sufferer. A few ways to do that is
to keep eye contact with throughout the conversation, to always refer to them by name when
talking, continue the conversation as long as possible because is makes the person with AD
feel better about themselves, and be aware of the body language you re presenting ( Grief and

John Gotti Essay
Background
John Joseph Gotti, Jr. was born on October 27, 1940. He was the fifth child of eleven children.
His parents were John J. Gotti Sr. and Fannie Gotti. John Gotti s father was believed to be a
hardworking immigrant from the Neapolitan section of Italy, though Gotti would later describe
his father as a New Jersey native who has never set foot in Italy and never worked a day in his
life to provide for the family. The Gotti family grew up in the slums of the South Bronx. Although
Gotti denies it, his father worked hard to move them out of the poor neighborhoods. John J. Gotti
Sr., after much perseverance, later moved his family to the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood.

Gotti became the leader of the gang, but unlike other gangs, was not concerned about territory. His
gang was mostly into higher levels of criminality that dealt with fencing stolen goods, stealing
automobiles and rolled drunks. While a member of the Fulton Rockaway Boys, he was arrested
five times however all his charges were reduced to probationary sentences. Later in life, Gotti
marries Victoria DiGorgio. However marriage does not slow down John Gotti Jr. On a yearly basis,
John Gotti committed crimes and was convicted of them. Several of the crimes ranged from
grand larceny, hijacking, and murder. Though Gotti was convicted for several of the crimes, he
proved to be a model inmate and was released on good behavior. In 1980, John Gotti tragically
loses his son Frank when his bike was hit by their neighbors car. Later, the neighbor was forced to
move because of the constant retaliation from the Gotti family and friends.
The subject of gangs and mobs has always held my interest. In history, Gotti is as legendary as
Capone. Gotti, who was infamous in the 1980 s by becoming the boss of the Gambino s, truly
epitomized the characteristic 1920 s mobster but with a few unique twists. He captured the public s

An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge
An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge is a story that expresses how far your imagination can take
you without even realizing it. The story s author, Ambrose Bierce, participated in several wars
during the Civil War, which later influenced the writing that he did after the war. In this story he
writes about how in the last moments of a man s life, he vividly imagines escaping his death.
Only to reveal that it was all a dream as he is hanged off of Owl Creek Bridge. Ambrose Bierce

this theme. If you only regard the first sentence and the last sentence you can see how everything

Analysis Of `` My Last Duchess And Carol Ann Duffy s ...
Several poems in the anthology explore the intensity of human emotion. Explore this theme,
referring to these three poems in detail and by referencing at least three other poems from your
wider reading.
The potent emotion of jealous love permeates throughout both Robert Browning s My Last Duchess
and Carol Ann Duffy s Medusa. Jealous love forms a central concern of the poets, with each one
focusing on different aspects, which the reader may come to identify the poems as exploring the
intensity of human emotion.
The themes of both poems show the complete mental consumption of the voice s. Their pre
dominative behaviour appears to emerge from perverted good values. The paranoid voice of a
woman, angered with her supposed cheating husband runs throughout the duration of Medusa,
seeming to grow in anger as it meets every line. In addition, Carol Ann Duffy creates an extended
metaphor of this women s transformation into the monstrous character Medusa, using members
present in Greek mythology, in order to paint a metaphorical juxtaposition of a once beautiful
woman, now a hideous gorgon due to the impact of detrimental human emotion. Detrimental
emotion being, as shown by the phrase: My brides breath soured, stank, with the use of sensory
imagery demonstrating how a slight suspicion has taken hold of the voice. Moreover, this build up
and outpour of the slight suspicion and emotion over the poem suggests that the voice has
succumbed to and has allowed herself

The Development Of Rock And Pop Music Festivals
There has been a constant rise in the division of outdoor music festivals over the past 10 years
with about 71 per cent rise between 2003 and 2007 (Anderton 2009, pp.39 40). Mintel reports
that there has been a persistent extension in the live music spectators stimulated by an evolution
of supply sector in terms of greater number of events, sites and innovation over the past decade.
These are accompanied by a large number of boutique festivals which are designed to meet
specific consumer demands and excellency in customer experience. Even though new events have
been organised, there are a part of them which were called off over the 3 year span from 2003 to
2006 due to various factors like weather, sales and marketing sector, licencing and finances, altering
policies, security and absence of sponsorships (Getz, 2002; Anderton, 2009).
The development on rock and pop music festivals emerged in the late 1960s from the open air
festivals in the late 1960s and early 1960s which hence, gave birth to the National Jazz Federation
in 1961. The late 1960s saw an evolution of underground or hippie counterculture which was
propped up commercially by the booming fashion business and by an international student and
youth movement which provided a ready audience ( Clarke, 1982, p.25). Dressing up, however
became an essential aspect of the music festivals as it attracted greater audience over the years. By

Descriptive Essay On The San Juan Mountains
Every place has a taste. My highschool tastes bland, and a little bit like a cracker beginning to go
stale. My home tastes like sunlight on autumn leaves. Every place has a taste, but I will never forget
the taste of the majesty of the San Juan Mountains.
The first time I laid eyes upon the San Juan Mountains, I couldn t believe that I was only a few
miles away from the cold desert that is Colorado. The further into the rugged mountain range the
highway led me, the more awe and disbelief fell upon me. I felt small, and as if I was the first
person to ever discover those hidden valleys that support entire ecosystems of plants and
animals. The scattered puffs of cloud above me painted shadows along the razor edged peaks,
giving an appearance of a mural, rather than massive chunks of rock carved away by the centuries.
I could hear nothing except for the pounding of far off waterfalls and the whispering of the pines,
who shared secrets that nobody but they would ever know. I felt like an intruder, and yet
welcomed. I was lost, but at home.
Around a bend, and out of the blue, there came a town. Even so far from the nearest city, the
town was butsling. Main Street was lined with colorful buildings restored from the Victorian era.
A two floor hotel, elegant even in it s old age, announced its presence at the corner of an
intersection. The stout brick walls stood fortified, defying the valley winds. The occasional house
could be seen through the tightly packed boutiques, shops, and art galleries. One was baby blue
and white, another, the color of dried saffron. Further on down Main Street, natural hot springs
revealed themselves. People of every age packed into the heated pools. A vicious game of
volleyball had commenced, and more people were flocking to the net even in the second it took to
drive past. Eventually, the quaint Main Street ended, and the highway led the car through several
switchbacks that twisted up the side of the valley. At the top, a weather worn sign named the town
Ouray , and the sight below was one to behold. Ouray spread through the bowl formed when rivers
and mountains collide, spreading to the edges until not a shed more could ve been built. But the
highway kept leading, and the car kept

My Calling In High School
A calling like no other
I ve always known that I wanted to be a force of good in the world, someone who lifts people up,
someone who can help during stressful times, and be the shoulder people can lean on. I want to
be there for anyone I can. While I ve been in multiple school groups as early as elementary, such as
student council, several honor societies, academic clubs, and other activities, it wasn t until my
final years of high school that I discovered my true calling that has created the most memorable and
rewarding experiences of my life.
In my sophomore year of high school, I applied for a spot in an exclusive class of only 25 students
who help the special needs students at my campus. I was so excited to jump at the chance to be in
a class, that to my knowledge, those enrolled would celebrate the students birthdays, take them to
the Special Olympics, and be their confidant and companion. I wanted to join the class to do the
same, but it wasn t until I was accepted that I realized how significantly the class would affect and
change my heart. This class has redefined how I see myself because I know what I am meant to do
with my life. I want to better the lives of Special Needs students because they have enriched my life
and made it meaningful.
Despite there only being 5 spot openings for students in my grade level to join the class, my
application and interview managed to earn me a spot. By the end of the first week I was already in

The best characterization of Linda is in these words: Linda, as the eternal wife and mother, the
fixed point of affection both given and received, the woman who suffers and endures, is in many
ways, the earth mother who embodies the play s ultimate moral value, love. But in the beautiful,
ironic complexity of her creation, she is also Willy s and their sons destroyer. In her love Linda
has accepted Willy s Greatness and his dream, but while in her admiration for Willy her love is
powerful and moving, in her admiration for his dreams, it is lethal. She encourages Willy s
dream, yet she will not let him leave her for the New Continent, the only realm where the dream
can be fulfilled. She wants to reconcile father and son, but she attempts this in the context of Willy
s false values. She cannot allow her sons to achieve that selfhood that involves denial of these
values (Gordon 312).
Furthermore, the Loman family lives in a society where the monetary status of residents

systematic reviews are superior. The present study examined the reverse idea that meta analysis is
the superior method. A literature search was conducted of meta analysisstudies for psychotherapy
within the PsycINFO database. The resulting studies were further examined and classified as either
primary articles or secondary articles. Primary articles were further examined for secondary articles
associated with them. It was found that there was some criticism within the literature. The results
were compared to a study of systematic review literature conducted at the same time. The ... Show

As with any other process, meta analysis has several disadvantages or weaknesses. It s been
argued, for example, that one of the weaknesses of meta analysis is associated with the fact that
it requires a great amount of effort and expertise, and that currently there is a major drawback in
the research community of those who conduct them (Berkeljon Baldwin, 2009). Lipsey Wilson
(2001) also argued that meta analysis often loses a lot of valuable qualitative data (for example,
the social context of the study) because it aggregates only quantitative data. It is further argued
that the exclusion of such data may sometimes interfere with the process of arriving at the right
conclusion (Lipsey Wilson, 2001). Other authors also argue that meta analysis includes a mix of
different studies in a single review which could be very problematic (Berkeljon Baldwin, 2009).
For example, Glass, McGraw Smith (1981) referred to this as the apples and oranges problem,
arguing that different treatments and measures are given the same weight, when, in fact, they are
not always the same. This, Glass, McGraw, and Smith claimed, can result in a misrepresentation of
the measures used in each study, as well as their level of contribution to the review, which would
skew the results. Lastly, the weaknesses of meta analysis have been noted by others to stem from
the fact that if poor quality studies or

Dietary And Physical Activity Is Essential Parts Of The...
Dietary and physical Activity The way we treat our bodies is an essential part of the human
body when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. We used our bodies countless every day in
many different forms. Eating and exercising are essential parts of the human life. But the real
questions are, what foods should we eat to help our bodies to work the best? how much physical
activity is needed it?. A site released back in 2011 by the first lady Michelle Obama to remain
the community to build healthier choices. In this site, we are able to find different tools
including a Super Tracker which can help to plan, analyzed and track diet and physical activity .
My file includes my name Johana Fernandez, 108 pounds, 5.2 feet, BMI is 19.8, which shows
that my weight is in the normal category for adults of my height. The data was collected over
the period of one week in which data was reported daily. No significant physical conditions are
reported based on the health history. Locking important nutrients in my diet was one of the most
serious concerns I had. Lack of nutrients can have a huge effect on body and brain performance.
It works like a car if you put bad gas you car will eventually break. Eating the proper nutrients is
important for you immune system, it helps to decrease tiredness and fatigue, it enhances the ability
to concentrate and overall it helps you to fight diseases such as cancers. Another one of my biggest
concerns is the lack of exercising. According to

Setting The Scene From Block Grant Based Funding
Setting the scene
Claire McCartney, research adviser at the CIPD and author of the report, comments: There seems
to be a real lack of awareness amongst senior managers, who rate the trust levels much stronger
than more junior employees. It seems they either have a tendency to view things through rose
tinted glasses, or are out of touch with how employees nearer the coalface are feeling. If senior
leaders are in denial or burying their heads in the sand, there is a danger that a them and us
mentality will emerge and change will be very difficult to achieve.
, and a transition from block grant based funding to student loan based funding of teaching has
taken place.
The past five years have been a time of significant fast paced change for Higher Education
Institutions (HEIs), with the higher education market being opened to new providers, the removal
of the Student Number Control cap and changes in student funding HEIs have needed to remain
agile and adaptable. (HEFCE, 2015)
With International students making a huge contribution to universities and the UK including
boosting the UK economy, HEIs are now required to compete in ever more challenging global
markets (HEFCE BIS grant letter 2015). HEIs recent successes have been and will continue to be
vital to the UKs future economic prospects as the country enters a period of growth. (HEFCE s
annual grant letter from BIS)
With tuition fees for UK students at ВЈ9,000 and circa ВЈ12,000 per year for international students,

James Moore Interview Essay
When having the privilege of conducting an interview with Lindsey Moore, she seemed like a
very intriguing person. When first walking into the room she had a warming smile, smelled of
coconuts, long luscious blonde hair and her hands were as soft as a tissue. Moore has
accomplished many phenomenal goals that she has set for herself. If someone had to describe
Moore with a phrase, that phrase would be hard worker. She emphasized on three key parts
where she had to work hard and those key parts were, practicing, WNBA and coaching. Without
these parts she would not be where she is today or how she is today. Moore has been a hard
worker ever since she was little. She knew at a young age that her abilities were far more
superior to her classmates. She might not have been taller than them but she knew for a fact that
her hand eye coordination and agility were better than theirs, so she decided to capitalize on these
aspects of her game. Since Moore knew what she was better at she used her key aspects towards
her advantage at sports, and one certain sport she put them to use was... Show more content on

To her the goods about coaching are being able to share your knowledge of the game with the
players and just see them work hard to get better every day. Having to work hard also comes
with this job; you have to make practice schedules and be up early and be able to do the best to
your ability as a coach. One thing she said she would never stop doing and that is working hard.
Also when talking with her about continuing to work hard, Moore said she would like to become
a head coach of a college team in the future. It might take a lot of effort and dedication to become
one but knowing of her work ethic, becoming a head coach will be an easy task for her. If you want
to be successful, you have to be willing to do the little things that will help you go a long way in

  • 2. The Development Of The Established Holy Bible Marcion of Sinope The development of the established Holy Bible was a long, drawn out process that started with the foundation of the original Jewish scriptures, formerly known as the Torah. Building off of Jewish ideals, theologians and philosophers started compiling scriptures with the ultimate result of the New Testament canon. Typically, many factors were taken into account when distinguishing the credibility or incredibility of a given scripture. For example, apostolic succession, where and when it was written as well as the cohesiveness with the other scriptures (referring to the Old Testament, as well as the documents within what was to become the New Testament). There were various depictions of the New Testament as the universally accepted canon was still developing, some of which contained writings that were certainly questionable. However, there was an initial establishment of the scriptural canon that jump started the process of paving the road towards the Holy Bibleas we know it today. It was the absurdity of Marcion s teachings and that prompted the church to establish an orthodox position on doctrine. It was believed that an eclipse was the result a great serpent or mountain lion trying to eat her. To frighten off the creatures, they would point their weapons at the moon and start screaming and shouting at it. The constellations, or Stars, all had duties assigned to them by Viracocha. For example, Pleiades had the job of looking over the seeds in the fields, and Lyra, which looked like a llama, looked after the herds. They also worshipped some other gods such as Thunder, the god of weather, who was an important deity. He was pictured as a man with a war club and a sling in the other hand. There are several factors that contributed to the Industrial Revolution in Britain. In this essay, population increase, agricultural revolution, transport revolution, British entrepreneurialism and growing overseas markets will all be individually examined and a conclusion will be drawn about which of these factors was the most crucial to the Industrial Revolutionand why that is the case. One factor that was considerably important in the lead up to the industrial revolution was the huge increase in the British population, which meant an increase in the need for work and labour. Previously, mortality rates in Britain had been particularly high due to poor housing and sanitation, among other things, which led to serious illnesses among the population. • 5. Little Women And The Civil War Little Women and the Civil War. The Civil War served as much more than the fight for civil economies and a struggle to end slavery. What lied in the foreground of the civil war are images of unions and confederate soldiers rummaging through forest of the American South and thoughts of slaves gaining their long sought freedom. However most people do not consider the lingering backdrop of the war. That would be the effects the war would have on the changing gender roles. The new gender roles formed during the civil war before we can determine the gender roles in the socially crucial time in American History, first we should define what is meant by gender . Context of gender is more than just physical being. Gender can be considered more abstract. This being said gender should be considered a preconceived notion about how each of the two sexes should act or interact. An identity is likely exemplified by this following quote from the mid 1800 s. Their (the Grimke sisters ) antislavery speaking tour of the North encountered bitter criticism and resistance from men who charged that they had overstepped the boundaries of their appointed sphere. (Elizabeth) In the decades before the civil war it was entirely common for society and women themselves to assign a more subordinate role to women. Women cooked cleaned, nurtured and everything society deemed fit. The civil war however shaped women up to be much more than that. The civil war was not the first time we had seen women ... • 6. The Ability Of Overcome Degenerative Policy Making Is... The ability to overcome degenerative policy making is through policy analysis which deconstructs policy designs in order to expose degenerative characteristics and deceptions (Schneider Ingram 1997). Public policy needs to be inclusive and should provide a clear vision of possibilities, explanations of how and why antidemocratic elements are embedded in policydesigns, and interpretations of how designs impact democratic life (Schneider Ingram 1997, 207). According to Stone (2011), knowledge tools reduce the need for coercive action or force because in the rational model, information will resolve conflict between actual behavior and desired behavior. Providing knowledge or educating make it unnecessary to incentivize or sanction the target in order to elicit the desired behavior. Instead, lack of information or capacity is the primary barrier, and once the appropriate information is relayed to the target, the desired behavior will follow (Schneider Ingram, 1997; Stone, 2011). However, people use a variety of strategies to help their interests and political goals. Critics of rational choice theory contend that people act largely according to prior attitudes and beliefs rather than new information (Stone, 2011, p. 314). One must be aware of human and social behavior if they are to try and analyze policy. Schneider Ingram (1997) identify some general principles (203 206) to look for during policy analysis. Many of the partial solutions either protect from the problem by fighting it or by avoiding it altogether. An example of avoiding the danger is by having programs that have a list of known malicious programs and doesn t let any of those onto the device. Environmental Effects On Environment Shavonne Devine Prof. Welsh Eng 1A (6403) 18 Sept. 2017 Through industrial development we have diminished our soil, ruined farmland, trees and have caused extinction of various species. All of these natural resources took over hundreds of millions years to form and Americans have destroyed them all for the need to build more. David Brower a prominent environmentalist says we have diminished our soil, fisheries, fossil fuels and we have changed the climate. We caused the extinction of countless species by half. Over consumption has reached a point of harming Americans health and the overall environment. According to John De Graaf, David Wann and Thomas H. The very thing that humanity relies on is being taken for granted. Americas increase in consumption does have benefits but the negative effects on the environment, American health and family outweigh the positive. What once was an abundance of natural resources is now becoming hard to find. The magnitude that this type of industrial development has on the environment is irreversible. The damage we are doing can never be undone. Through our constant need for more we have managed to change the climate. The Impact of Lipolysis on Different Cheese Varieties Impact of Lipolysis in Different Cheese Varieties Introduction During the process of ripening, biochemical processes that take place in the cheese are the most importance factors that contribute in speedy ripening process. Other than well studied, proteolysis, most important roles in cheese ripening involves lipolysis, the fat burning process. Ripening is the main process in which development of the cheese flavor takes place. During the process of ripening a large number of sapid compounds are produced which if present in the correct ratios and concentrations lead to the best flavor development. Three processes are known that contribute in the production of these compounds, lipolysis, proteolysis and glycolysis. The flavor development in cheese depends upon the degree in which these three processes functions that play key roles in distinct differences between cheese varieties. Extent of Lipolysis in Cheese The studies have shown that the extent of lipolysis is different and varied in different kinds of cheese. Dutch type cheese has lesser extent of lipolysis to extensive lipolysis as seen in much harder, ripened Italian cheese. In the case of Emmental cheese, it is seen that only 1 2% of the lipids are hydrolyzed, and the highest being in Blue cheese (Kilcawley, and Beresford, 2004, p. 34). In order to attain optimal circumstances for increased capitalism heads of corporations naturally needed to outdo each other. In many cases the price of lowering prices and speeding up production came in the form of pay cuts and layoffs. The individual needed to serve the means of the corporation. Simply because some workers had poor working conditions does not mean that the US economy was in the gutter. Statistics show that the American economy on the whole flourished during the Guilded and Industrial Age (91). In the fifty years between the eight consensus and the twelfth consensus, taken in 1860 and 1910 respectively, the country s population soared from 31.5 million to 92.4 million, an increase of almost three times. During these same years the GNP, representing the dollar value of all the goods and services produced each year, leaped from about $7 billion to over $35 billion. This meant an average increase of in output from $150 to about $380 for every adult and child in the nation (Burner411). These statistics point to economic gains of colossal proportions. Goods produced made up for job layoffs as the US economy became, like a machine, more industrialized each day. All of the key components were in place to have a thriving economy. Investment bankers also stepped in and became powerful. J.P. Morgan is a prime example of not only economic success, but also how the rich gave back to society. Although the rich of the ... Explore this theme, referring to these three poems in detail and by referencing at least three other poems from your wider reading. The potent emotion of jealous love permeates throughout both Robert Browning s My Last Duchess and Carol Ann Duffy s Medusa. Jealous love forms a central concern of the poets, with each one focusing on different aspects, which the reader may come to identify the poems as exploring the intensity of human emotion. The themes of both poems show the complete mental consumption of the voice s. Their pre dominative behaviour appears to emerge from perverted good values. The paranoid voice of a woman, angered with her supposed cheating husband runs throughout the duration of Medusa, seeming to grow in anger as it meets every line. In addition, Carol Ann Duffy creates an extended metaphor of this women s transformation into the monstrous character Medusa, using members present in Greek mythology, in order to paint a metaphorical juxtaposition of a once beautiful woman, now a hideous gorgon due to the impact of detrimental human emotion. Detrimental emotion being, as shown by the phrase: My brides breath soured, stank, with the use of sensory imagery demonstrating how a slight suspicion has taken hold of the voice. The Development Of Rock And Pop Music Festivals There has been a constant rise in the division of outdoor music festivals over the past 10 years with about 71 per cent rise between 2003 and 2007 (Anderton 2009, pp.39 40). Mintel reports that there has been a persistent extension in the live music spectators stimulated by an evolution of supply sector in terms of greater number of events, sites and innovation over the past decade. These are accompanied by a large number of boutique festivals which are designed to meet specific consumer demands and excellency in customer experience. Even though new events have been organised, there are a part of them which were called off over the 3 year span from 2003 to 2006 due to various factors like weather, sales and marketing sector, licencing and finances, altering policies, security and absence of sponsorships (Getz, 2002; Anderton, 2009). My home tastes like sunlight on autumn leaves. Every place has a taste, but I will never forget the taste of the majesty of the San Juan Mountains. The first time I laid eyes upon the San Juan Mountains, I couldn t believe that I was only a few miles away from the cold desert that is Colorado. The further into the rugged mountain range the highway led me, the more awe and disbelief fell upon me. I felt small, and as if I was the first person to ever discover those hidden valleys that support entire ecosystems of plants and animals. The scattered puffs of cloud above me painted shadows along the razor edged peaks, giving an appearance of a mural, rather than massive chunks of rock carved away by the centuries. I could hear nothing except for the pounding of far off waterfalls and the whispering of the pines, who shared secrets that nobody but they would ever know. I felt like an intruder, and yet welcomed. I was lost, but at home. Around a bend, and out of the blue, there came a town. Even so far from the nearest city, the town was butsling. Main Street was lined with colorful buildings restored from the Victorian era. A two floor hotel, elegant even in it s old age, announced its presence at the corner of an intersection. The stout brick walls stood fortified, defying the valley winds. The occasional house could be seen through the tightly packed boutiques, shops, and art galleries. One was baby blue and white, another, the color of dried saffron. Further on down Main Street, natural hot springs revealed themselves. People of every age packed into the heated pools. A vicious game of volleyball had commenced, and more people were flocking to the net even in the second it took to drive past. Eventually, the quaint Main Street ended, and the highway led the car through several switchbacks that twisted up the side of the valley. At the top, a weather worn sign named the town Ouray , and the sight below was one to behold. Ouray spread through the bowl formed when rivers and mountains collide, spreading to the edges until not a shed more could ve been built. But the highway kept leading, and the car kept ... It s been argued, for example, that one of the weaknesses of meta analysis is associated with the fact that it requires a great amount of effort and expertise, and that currently there is a major drawback in the research community of those who conduct them (Berkeljon Baldwin, 2009). Lipsey Wilson (2001) also argued that meta analysis often loses a lot of valuable qualitative data (for example, the social context of the study) because it aggregates only quantitative data. It is further argued that the exclusion of such data may sometimes interfere with the process of arriving at the right conclusion (Lipsey Wilson, 2001). Other authors also argue that meta analysis includes a mix of different studies in a single review which could be very problematic (Berkeljon Baldwin, 2009). For example, Glass, McGraw Smith (1981) referred to this as the apples and oranges problem, arguing that different treatments and measures are given the same weight, when, in fact, they are not always the same. This, Glass, McGraw, and Smith claimed, can result in a misrepresentation of the measures used in each study, as well as their level of contribution to the review, which would skew the results.
